  1. FIFA 19 Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, PS3, Xbox 360 Release date: 28 September 2018 Pre-order: Amazon UK or Amazon US The annual FIFA refresh is on the way, this time bringing with it a fairly major new addition: the UEFA Champions League, after rival franchise Pro Evo lost the license. Story mode The Journey will also return, with what's being described as the conclusion to Alex Hunter's journey through the ranks of professional football. Here's everything we know so far about FIFA 19. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC Release date: 12 October 2018 Pre-order: Amazon UK or Amazon US A new Call of Duty has long been an annual event, but that doesn't make it any less exciting for fans of the series. After last year's detour into a historical setting, Black Ops 4 is back to the familiar near-future warfare of the modern setting. There are two changes here though: first up, there's no single-player campaign at all, with an exclusive multiplayer focus. Second, and more predictably, there's a battle royale mode to tap into the recent po[CENSORED]rity of PUBG and Fortnite. Find out more about Black Ops 4. Just Cause 4 Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC Release date: 4 December 2018 Pre-order: Amazon UK or Amazon US One of E3's biggest surprises this year was the announcement of Just Cause 4, the return of Square Enix's open-world destruction franchise. You'll have to traverse a massive South American map with varying climates and extreme weather conditions including tornadoes and blizzards, all while you battle mercenaries and generally cause violent chaos and destruction. Sign us up. Find out the latest Just Cause 4 news.
  2. Note: We're continually updating this post as we learn more info about the upcoming 2019 Jeep Wrangler Pickup. The last update was made on 9/4/18. Jeep hasn't sold a pickup truck since 1992, when the XJ Cherokee-based Comanche went out of production. Since then, Jeep has made many concept pickups to tease us. Now, we know that a JL Wrangler-based pickup is on its way, and it's high on our list of cars we can't wait to drive. To say we're excited for the Wrangler pickup would be an understatement, so let's round up everything we think we know about it. Jeep started the Wrangler pickup fever in 2005 with the Gladiator Concept (shown above), but it never reached production. A handful of concepts since only served to whet our collective appetite further. Finally, Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed in early 2016 that Jeep would be offering a production pickup version of the JL Wrangler, the standard SUV-version of which made its debut in late 2017. We'll Probably See It Later This Year It hasn't been confirmed yet, but we suspect that the Wrangler Pickup will make its debut at an auto show later this year, possibly Los Angeles in November. Mark your calendars. AutoNews reports that Jeep dealers were told at national conference that the Wrangler Pickup would arrive in their showrooms in April 2019. That means the truck will probably begin production around the end of this year. It'll (Probably) Look Like This Ever since the Wrangler pickup was announced, we've been receiving spy photos and detailed renderings giving us a pretty clear picture of what to expect. Unsurprisingly, it looks like a Wrangler with a truck bed. The next-generation Wrangler sports a trimmer profile with a vertical, kinked grille and integrated turn signals/DRLs in the front fenders. We’ve only seen spy shots of four-door Wrangler Unlimited pickup prototypes, but according to the latest renderings, the truck will likely be available as a two-door as well. It's Been Rumored for Production for a While Now We first heard rumblings of a JL Wrangler-based pickup in September of 2015. Of course, people have been clamoring for it for a much longer time. It'll Be Based on the New Wrangler Platform -------------------------------------------------------- The new Wrangler SUV debuted in late 2017 as a 2018 model, and it represents a massive improvement over its predecessor. That's good news for the pickup. We've covered all of the details of the JL Wrangler in our story about its reveal and our first drive of a Rubicon model, but here are some highlights: The JL's body is made from aluminum, which helps save up to 200 lbs of weight over its predecessor, the JK. The interior is much nicer than before, with better materials, sharper design, and FCA's great UConnect infotainment system. It still comes standard with Chrysler's 3.6-liter 285-hp Pentastar V6, but a new six-speed manual and optional eight-speed automatic make the most of it. Optional is a 270-hp turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder; a diesel V6 is set to debut later. Despite all this new stuff, the Wrangler still has a ladder frame and solid axles, exactly what off-roaders want. It Probably Won't Have a Hellcat Engine. . . Yes, Jeep made a Wrangler with the 707-hp supercharged V8 from the Hellcat in 2016, but it's just a one-off fever dream. Don't fret—if you really want a Hellcat motor and a seven-slat grille, there's always the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. . . .But It'll Likely Have a Diesel According to screenshots of Jeep's dealer system on the Jeep Scrambler Forums, the JT Wrangler Pickup will offer an optional a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 with auto start/stop as an engine choice. It'll Probably Get an Off-Road trim Our most recent spy shots of the Wrangler Pickup feature the truck wearing some knobby off-road tires. Not the BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA KO2s used on the Wrangler Rubicon, but something seemingly similar from Falken. That indicates to us that the Wrangler Pickup will probably be offered with a Rubicon-esque variant to up its off-roading chops. It might be a pickup, but it's still a Wrangler. It'll Sell Like Crazy Americans love pickup trucks, and Americans love Jeeps. Sergio Marchionne knows this, so building a Wrangler pickup is a complete and total no-brainer. It'll also be wildly different from every other pickup currently on sale, which should help it further. Marchionne said at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show that FCA expects to sell 100,000 examples of the pickup per year, and they'll be "expensive—intentionally so." The Roof and Doors Will Be Removable An image taken during a tour of Jeep's Toledo factory posted to Jeep Scrambler Forums shows the cab frame for the Wrangler pickup without doors and roof. That means you'll be able to remove the roof and doors from this truck, just as in the regular Wrangler. It also looks like the pickup will get the regular Wrangler's fold-down windshield too. The Scrambler Forums have evidence from internal Jeep documents showing that the roof will be removable. There will likely be up to three roof configurations available—manual-folding soft top, hard top with removable roof panels, and power-sliding soft top—just like the JL Wrangler. We Have a Name (Maybe) Generally, folks assumed this new vehicle would just be called the Wrangler Pickup. Now, the rumor is that FCA will revive a name that last appeared on a Jeep CJ-8: Scrambler. But we're not getting our hopes up for a new Jeep Scrambler just yet. Speaking at the Detroit Auto Show, Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne said that he "[doesn't] know the name of the pickup truck." We'll find out in due course.

  6. The 2018 Apple Worldwide Developer Conference has not yet begun as rumors are already circulating about the 2019 version of the iPhone, which could accommodate a three-sensor camera. A rumor that seems to confirm the fervor of Tim Cook for augmented reality. According to Taiwan's Economic Daily News, quoted by the MacRumors website, quoting a research note from Jialin Lu, an analyst at Deutsche Securities, Apple could introduce a three-sensor camera on at least one of its 2019 models. iPhone. Three-sensor devices are not new in themselves, since the Huawei P20 Pro, for example, has such a system. However, Apple is known for capturing trends and pushing them a step further than other brands. This could explain the interest of bloggers hi-tech for this rumor. According to MacRumors, Jialin Lu thinks that this system will allow a single object to be captured from different angles, thus allowing "stereoscopic vision", but also to determine the distance separating the object from the phone, thanks to the triangulation. Apple based on augmented reality But what does that mean exactly? To put it simply, this could play a big role in 3D image analysis and augmented reality, two topics dear to Apple's heart. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, has often expressed his enthusiasm for augmented reality, especially recently at the company's first quarter earnings conference: "I believe in augmented reality tremendously, we put a lot of energy into it, we are moving very fast. " This possibility is therefore possible for the 2019 model. But Apple probably keeps several surprises in his sleeve for his "keynote" next week, which starts June 4
  7. Though sport-utility vehicles and pickup trucks now account for the lion’s share of new-vehicle sales, (to paraphrase Mark Twain) the reports of the passenger car’s death has been greatly exaggerated. Seems there’s still a lot of life left in the genre, as evidenced by the extensive selection of all-new and fully redesigned family sedans, luxury cars, and sport coupes that lead the class of 2019. Here’s a quick look at 15 of the most significant new cars headed to dealerships, with images for each of them featured in the accompanying slideshow. We’ll take a look at the hottest new SUVs and trucks for 2019 in a separate post. Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. Aston Martin brings back – and combines – two famed nameplates from its storied history for its new flagship coupe, the DBS Superleggera. Gorgeously styled with fluidly flowing body work crafted from carbon fiber, it’s 2+2 interior is equally appealing, with front-seat occupants treated to sport seats upholstered in supple “aromatic” leather and Alcantara. A 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine generates a mighty 715 horsepower and, assisted by a performance-enhanced eight-speed automatic transmission, can launch the car to 62 mph in a sudden 3.4 seconds and hit a terrifying top speed of 211 mph. Riding on 21-inch rims and Pirelli P-Zero performance tires, and with assorted performance-enhancing systems at hand, the car is engineered to hug the corners as tightly as a toddler with a teddy bear. Audi A8. A fourth-generation version of Audi’s flagship sedan debuts for 2019 with a fresh design language. A spacious leather and wood trimmed interior coddles its occupants in comfort, and features Audi’s configurable Virtual Cockpit instrumentation, with dual touchscreens with haptic feedback for the infotainment system. Opulent options include heated center console and arm rests, a dual-tablet rear entertainment system, and executive-class rear seats that recline, massage, and feature adjustable head- and footrests. It comes powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine with 48-volt “mild hybrid” technology, and rides on an active suspension for improved vehicle dynamics. A new frontal auto-braking safety system can help prevent against crashes with cross-traffic at intersections. The new A8 can even be pulled into and out of a garage or tight parking space remotely. Bentley Continental GT. The third generation of Bentley’s sporty and stately Continental GT coupe bows for 2019, and continues its familiar long-hooded appearance, albeit with added refinement nose to tail. A 6.0-liter W12 engine (it’s like a pair of conjoined V6s) pushes the GT’s hefty curb weight along at a rapid clip (0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds) with 626 horsepower and a forceful 664 pound-feet of torque; top speed is a warp-nine 207 mph. An electronically controlled suspension balances ride comfort and energetic handling abilities via selectable driving modes. As one would expect, the four-seat coupe’s interior is up to Bentley’s over-the-top standards and is upholstered in rich leather and trimmed in wood and piano black finishes. Also, as one would expect, the list of standard features is exhaustive with almost limitless customization available. BMW M850i xDrive. BMW brings back the 8 Series coupe after a 20-year hiatus as an appropriately long, wide, and low slung ride, with what BMW calls “double bubble” contouring. Headlamps incorporate both LED and laser light technology and are said to bethe slimmest used in any BMW to date. An optional carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic roof reduces the coupe’s curb weight and lowers its center of gravity for a notch better handling. Inside, sport seats are trimmed in Merino Individual leather with contrast stitching. The M850i xDrive packs a punch with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter 530-horsepower V8 engine; mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it can leap to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. All-wheel-drive and a self-parking function come standard, with an adaptive racing-inspired suspension among its many performance-minded options. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. As automotive enthusiasts wait for a coming mid-engine Corvette, Chevrolet brings back the rip-roaring ZR1 as a bona fide Ferrari fighter. Coming in both coupe (with a removable roof panel) and convertible variants, it’s the fastest ‘Vette ever, thanks to a new dual fuel-injected supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that channels a speedy 755 horsepower to the rear wheels via either a seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. A model-specific front fascia channels copious amounts of air for propulsion-system and drivetrain cooling. A carbon-fiber “halo” hood is open in the middle to accommodate the supercharger/intercooler assembly. An optional ZTK Track Performance Package includes an adjustable high-wing spoiler for added downforce, a front splitter with carbon-fiber end caps, Michelin summer performance tires, and specific chassis and Magnetic Ride Control system tuning. It’s packed with features and starts at around $120,000 Genesis G70. Hyundai’s luxury division debuts this BMW 3 Series-esq rear-drive compact sedan for 2019 with assertive styling. A 2.0-liter with 252 horsepower is standard with a turbocharged 365-horsepower V6 available. An eight-speed automatic transmission with launch control comes standard, though the base rear-drive 2.0-liter model can instead be fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox; all-wheel-drive is optional. A multi-link suspension at the front and rear along with a torque vectoring systemafford entertaining handling, with multiple drive modes at hand to fine-tune powertrain response, steering feel, all-wheel drive torque distribution, suspension firmness, and even the engine’s sound. Standard features include a full rack of accident avoidance systems. Honda Insight. Honda brings back the Insight name, and this time around it’s a midsize four-door hybrid that’s capable of a penny-pinching 55 mpg around town. With a dynamic front end treatment and coupe-like profile it sports a decidedly forceful look. Power comes from an electric-assisted 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with the equivalent of 151 horsepower and a lively 197 pound-feet of torque. Frugal-minded drivers can put the car EV mode for limited all-electric operation, and can increase regenerative braking to help bolster battery charging. Efficient battery packaging enables a spacious 15.1 cubic feet of trunk space, while maintaining a roomy interior. There’s even a selectable sport mode that affords livelier operation. Hyundai Veloster. Hyundai’s small and sporty three-door front-drive hatchback gets a major redesign for 2019 with burlier styling. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter with 147 horsepower, while the Turbo version packs a 1.6-liter turbo-four with 201 horses; the former can be mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, while the latter offers a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic as an alternative to the manual. The sportiest N version leaps off the line with a 275-horsepower turbo-four and the six-speed manual. Automatic-equipped models include selectable driving modes, while Turbo models feature an active engine sound feature that boosts the exhaust note for added visceral effect. An active cornering vectoring control helps maintain crisp handling. Assorted collision-preventing systems and infotainment features are included with Amazon Alexa, and Android Wear/Apple Watch connectivity available. Kia Forte. Still a great car for younger and budget-minded drivers, Kia refreshes its compact sedan for 2019 and imbues it with handsome styling inside and out that makes it look like a costlier car. A revamped 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generates an estimated 147 horsepower and can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a gearless CVT automatic transmission. As befits a car with youthful appeal, full smartphone connectivity is included with the Apple Car Play and Android Auto interfaces incorporated; a wireless phone-charging pad is newly available. For safety’s sake, the Forte can now be fitted with forward auto-braking, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, and a lane keeping assist system. Lexus ES. The midsize Lexus ES luxury sedan comes in a fully redesigned version for 2019 with added pizazz and personality. It’s longer, lower, and wider, and comes wrapped in dynamically recast bodywork with additional curves and creases and the automaker’s signature spindle-shaped grille. A 3.5-liter V6 engine sends 302-horsepower to the front wheels via a new eight-speed automatic transmission. An F-Sport iteration is newly added to the line and can be fitted an Adaptive Variable Suspension to ratchet up the sedan’s cornering prowess without undue ride harshness. A hybrid version combines a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor to realize the equivalent of 215 horsepower at an estimated 44 mpg in city/highway driving. The Apple Car Play interface is new this year – it’s also Amazon Alexa-enabled – with a full range o

  9. The Raging Bull re-enters the SUV business nless you’re a literate example of Armadillidium vulgare, you’ve been inundated with images of and information about the reinvented Rambo Lambo, the Urus. Lamborghini’s second-ever SUV, the Urus is much more Lambo than Rambo this time around, though it’s still happy to do its 641-hp business in the dirt. Roomy, comfortable, and useful are not typical Lamborghini descriptors, but the Italian bull fanciers somehow managed to cram in all of those traits plus a sufficient dose of over-the-top fun for the whole family. On the track during our first drive, the Urus acquitted itself well, especially for an SUV. On the road, the Lambo crossover’s flexibility and comfort shined through. Tackling a dirt rally-style course, we found the Urus to be remarkably fun to drive: “Here, the Lamborghini’s variable all-wheel-drive system has its chance to truly shine, allowing big-throttle wallops to sling the tail around like a Coolidge-era bootlegger, with digital witchery managing torque, slip angle, and more. Genuine fun—just don’t forget the protective wrap for the neurasthenic paint.” There’s more to come from Lamborghini in the next few years, too, with the aging Aventador due for a replacement. That replacement is likely to be electrified in some way, though it’s not clear if that means a milder hybrid setup, a plug-in, or some form of full-EV capability. Our bet? The V-12 engine will stay put, but it’ll be joined by a hybrid system, possibly 48-volt, to lighten the emissions load. Whichever path Lamborghini takes to electrification, you can bet the eventual Huracán replacement will get a version of it, too, mated to a revised V-10, though there’s always a chance Lamborghini could drop the cylinder count and go turbo. Fortunately, both Lamborghini and its fans have some time; the Aventador replacement isn’t expected until 2020 or so, and the Huracán could continue in its current form through 2024 or beyond. On sale: Late 2018 Base price: $200,000 (est) .
