On the day co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe called Manchester United "mediocre" in an interview with po[CENSORED]r club fanzine 'United We Stand', the team unfortunately reinforced the assessment with their on-pitch performance. As many were quick to point out, Nottingham Forest's victory at Old Trafford was not "a shock" given Nuno Espirito Santo's team started the game higher in the table. Nevertheless, it was something Forest had not achieved in almost 30 years. And, at expectation level at least, United's ambitions are more lofty than those at the City Ground. The Red Devils' aim is to eventually win the Premier League and compete strongly in the Champions League. How realistic that is in the short-term is anyone's guess. On this evidence, not very. Asked for his view on his first few weeks as United manager (five games with two victories, only one of which has come in the league) and results that are alien to him - his old club Sporting had won 16 games out of 17 before United brought him to England - Amorim said the perceptions were not true. "I had this and worse in Sporting in the beginning," he said. "The feeling for me is the same but for the world it's completely different. "You know Sporting in Portugal but Manchester [United] has a lot of attention." Yet Amorim's version of events in Lisbon doesn't quite stack up. After he took charge on 4 March 2020, Sporting won six out of their first 11 games and drew three. Their two defeats came in the final three games of a campaign interrupted by Covid-19 in away games against FC Porto, when Amorim's team lost 2-0, and Benfica, when they were beaten 2-1 by a goal two minutes from time. "I had this period at Sporting and if you are a little experienced in football this happens with a lot of clubs," he said. "We have to manage to continue to do the same things and improve the team because this will turn around." About 20 minutes before Amorim addressed the media on his side's second defeat in four days following the 2-0 result at Arsenal, sporting director Dan Ashworth headed through the press conference room on his way from the directors' lounge to the front exit of the stadium. Ashworth kept his head down and did not make eye contact with those present. He is in a tricky spot. First under Erik ten Hag and now Amorim, it is becoming apparent United's squad is not good enough. They simply cannot afford to gift the opposition goals the way they did to Forest, in particular goalkeeper Andre Onana's inexplicable failure to read Morgan Gibbs-White's shot from the edge of the area at the start of the second half. Onana began to move to his right but when the ball did not go in the same direction, the Cameroon international was unable to shift his weight quickly enough and was beaten to his left - in the middle of his goal. Gibbs-White admitted when the ball left his foot, he expected the £47.2m signing from Inter Milan to "pick it up". "Onana already saved us a lot of times so we have to find a way, when this happens, to turn around and score two goals to help our goalkeeper, in the same way he helped us at Ipswich," said Amorim. "We lose as a team and we have to improve in all aspects of the game." If Onana's error had been the only one, it would have been bad enough for United. But, with a warning from their manager ringing in their ears about not repeating the errors of the Emirates Stadium, when they conceded twice at set-pieces, they promptly did it again after two minutes when Nikola Milenkovic outmuscled Lisandro Martinez at the near post and headed home from Forest's first corner. Then, as they tried to clear their heads from Onana's blunder, neither the keeper, nor Matthijs de Ligt made an attempt to deal with Chris Wood's far-post header as it bounced across them and Martinez let the ball go past him and into the net. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cp9nnp0d9z9o

It was Russian firepower that had helped keep Bashar al-Assad in power for the last nine years. But, in a matter of days, the Kremlin's Syria project has unravelled, with Moscow, apparently, powerless to do anything about it. In a statement the Russian foreign ministry announced that Assad had left the post of president - and the country (without providing any details about where he'd gone). It added that Moscow was "following the dramatic events in Syria with extreme concern". Follow updates as rebels capture Damascus HTS leader not only player in Syria's fast-changing future Watch: BBC sees looting at Bashar al-Assad's residence Syria in maps The fall of the Assad regime is a blow to Russia's prestige. By sending thousands of troops to shore up President Assad in 2015, one of Russia's key objectives had been to assert itself as a global power. It was Vladimir Putin's first major challenge to the power and dominance of the West, away from the former Soviet space. And a successful one, too, so it seemed. In 2017, President Putin visited Russia's Hmeimim air base in Syria and declared that it was mission accomplished. Despite widespread reports that Russian airstrikes were causing civilian casualties, the Russian defence ministry felt confident enough to fly international media out to Syria to witness the Russian military operation. On one such trip I remember an officer telling me that Russia was in Syria "for the long haul". But this was about more than just prestige. In return for military assistance, the Syrian authorities awarded Russia 49-year leases on the air base in Hmeimim and its naval base in Tartus. Russia had secured an important foothold in the Eastern Mediterranean. The bases became hubs for transferring military contractors in and out of Africa. A key question for Moscow is: what will happen to these Russian bases now? In its statement, the Russian foreign ministry announced that its bases in Syria had been put "on a state of high alert", but claimed there was "no serious threat to them at the current time". Assad was Russia's staunchest ally in the Middle East. The Kremlin had invested heavily in him. It had poured resources - financial, military, political - into keeping him in power. The Russian authorities will struggle to present his toppling as anything but a setback for Moscow. But in a post on social media, Konstantin Kosachev, deputy speaker of Russia's upper house of parliament, wrote: "What's happening in Syria is very difficult for everyone, without exception…a tragedy for everyone. "For Russians our priority is to ensure the security of our citizens, both civilians, including diplomats and their families, and of course servicemen." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clygege97qwo

Dungeon Clawler will launch in early access on November 21st on mobile and Steam. From Stray Fawn Studio, Dungeon Clawer is a roguelike deck-builder in which you get your weapons from a claw machine. You’ll collect weapons and build your deck as you delve deep into a dangerous dungeon. The development team was inspired to create this claw machine deck-builder after a team trip to Japan, where they spent a good deal of yen on claw machines. Originally, the project began as a side project for one of Stray Fawn's co-founders. However, soon, the whole team found themselves invested in the roguelike deck-builder. You play as an adorable furry rabbit whose paw was taken by the evil dungeon lord. Armed with a claw to temporarily replace your lost paw, you'll wind your way through the perilous dungeon with one goal in mind: reach the dungeon lord's lair and reclaim your paw. Stray Fawn Studio also promises you’ll meet some quirky characters on your journey, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Some of these characters may even be willing to help you. Be ready to battle a variety of dungeon-dwelling foes using the weapons you obtain from the claw machine as you explore the dungeon. You’ll also discover tons of intriguing items and perks to add to your deck. These perks create devastating synergies that can change the tide of battle. Use powerful combos to your advantage and add new items to your claw machine for more powerful builds. As you battle your way through the dungeon, you will earn gold coins. You can spend these coins at Pachinko machines throughout the dungeon. Hopefully, the multiple difficulty levels will make the game accessible and enjoyable for deck-builder veterans and newcomers alike. Dungeon Crawler enters early access on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam on November 21st. It's no secret that Ubisoft hasn't had the best year, with the gaming giant having had to shut down multiple live-service and single-player games this year as a result of disappointing player counts and sales figures. Now, according to a series of rumors, Ubisoft is in talks with Chinese conglomerate Tencent with the intention of a buy-out. Curiously, though, Yves Guillemot, who currently sits as CEO of Ubisoft, wants to sell at least some of the Guillemot family's shares to Tencent, effectively giving Tencent a controlling stake in Ubisoft, but the Guillemot family wants to do so without losing control of the company it helped found. According to Reuters, inside sources claim that the Guillemot family, who are the founding shareholders and currently have a controlling stake in Ubisoft, would like to maintain a controlling position in the company after whatever potential buyout deal is being discussed. Apparently, the Guillemot Family's desire for continued control has thus far been a sticking point for Tencent, who has as yet opted not increase its stake in the French game developer and publisher, instead holding out for a more favorable deal. Tencent already has around a 10% stake in Ubisoft, but the inside sources claim that Tencent wants greater control over the company before agreeing to a buyout of Guillemot shares. The news of a potential buyout deal comes the same week Ubisoft decided to shut down its fledgling F3P FPS, XDefiant, and lay off over 250 staff members from the team that developed the game. That's not the first time Ubisoft has faced layoffs or commercial hardships this year, earlier shutting down Prince of Persia The Lost Crown due to its commercial "failure." Tencent is a massive Chinese game developer and conglomerate that has made a big push into the Western gaming scene in recent years, whether by buying out game studios entirely, as was the case with Warframe developer, Digital Extremes, and Riot Games, or with more subtle moves, like its almost 10% stake in Ubisoft and 35% ownership of Epic Games. https://www.techpowerup.com/329586/rumor-ubisoft-considers-complicated-tencent-buyout-after-strenuous-2024

Realme's GT Pro smartphones are indeed a rare breed. Since the brand came to be in 2018, Realme announced just a handful of powerful smartphones, and only two made it to India. The last time around, it was the Realme GT 2 Pro in 2022, which offered flagship performance at a premium price tag of Rs. 49,999. But a lot has changed in the past two years. These days, having 8GB of RAM on a flagship device is no longer sufficient, particularly with the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) features that have only increased in number since 2024. Priced from Rs. 59,999 for the base 12GB + 256GB variant, Realme's latest GT 7 Pro debuts a top-notch processor and comes with little compromise in every other area, making it a serious and practical contender in the premium segment. *Please note that we received the Chinese model of the Realme GT 7 Pro. This model has a 6,500mAh battery versus the 5,800mAh capacity of the Indian model. However, this is the only change between the two models. Realme GT 7 Pro Design: Captivating Dimensions - 162.45mm x 76.89mm x 8.55mm Weight - 220.2 grams Durability - IP69 The GT 7 Pro differentiates itself from the Realme GT 2 Pro and other GT smartphones in the company's lineup. It has a very mature design philosophy with clean lines, flat sides, and a very slim overall appearance thanks to its 3D-curved glass screens used for its display and its rear panel. I received the vibrant Mars Orange finish, but Realme offers a subtle Galaxy Grey finish. Both finishes have a matte-finished rear panel, but the Mars Orange colourway gets the contrasted (almost lustrous) orange finish, which also has a wavy pattern that appears like a gradient terrain layer of a map. The metallic bronze colour, along with the vibrant matte orange back, gives it a very sci-fi sort of appearance. I also like the slightly raised camera module, which has a neatly designed off-sided bevelled border around it. https://www.gadgets360.com/mobiles/reviews/realme-gt-7-pro-review-7110716#pfrom=indepth
