Fitbit will no longer support its app on iPhones that do not run iOS 15 or higher. As of March 25, phones that are only capable of running iOS 14 or below – generally, anything older than an iPhone 6 – will no longer work with the Fitbit app once it the app been updated to version 3.77 or newer. If you have one of the best iPhones, which tend to be more recent versions, and you’re running an older operating system, you may need to update your device to ensure that you can continue to use the Fitbit app. The best Fitbits. and other devices like them, generally require the latest versions of their companion app in order to operate effectively, and those apps are regularly updated to add new features, fix bugs and so on. Unfortunately, this leaves users of older iPhones – a small amount of users, we imagine, but some nevertheless – unable to use Fitbit properly. Fitbit has been alerting users via a notification in the app, and has provided an option not to update to version 3.77. It’s not a permanent solution, but at least it’ll buy you more time with your device until you upgrade your phone to something that can run Fitbit effectively. This isn’t a new problem, or one exclusive to Fitbit. As smart tech relies on the latest software to integrate with other devices effectively, as that software becomes old and obsolete, certain devices will too. However, Fitbit has already been catching some heat this week, as it has finally disabled community features such as Open Groups and Challenges, as it warned users it would a few weeks ago. The decision left many users furious, as Fitbit has long had a dedicated community of worldwide users taking part in its daily and weekly challenge and adventure programs. Analysis: it's inevitable, unfortunately If you have a newer iPhone that will run iOS 15 or 16, it’s a simple matter to update your iOS to ensure you can use the Fitbit app to its full potential. But for users with an older iPhone, buying a new phone is a bit more of an investment. Whether it’s a computer, a smartwatch or a phone, it’s a shame we can’t hold onto a piece of tech we like in perpetuity – but if you’re buying one of the best iPhones for the sake of a cheap fitness tracker, it’s worth noting that Fitbit as a whole is undergoing a series of changes right now, and no one quite knows what the future holds for the once-great fitness tracker. Our best guess is the only ‘future-proof’ Fitbit is the Google Pixel Watch, which uses FItbit’s fitness and sleep-tracking features with Google’s excellent Wear OS operating system. If you’re looking to get a new tracker and you’re dead set on having an iPhone, there’s only one right answer, really: perusing our guide to the best Apple Watch models.

Rabat - Morocco’s fertilizer giant OCP released a new report uncovering its good performances marked by high demand and sales as well as the strengthening of the group’s regional leadership in the fertilizer industry. The global context, particularly the Russia-Ukraine conflict, has served fertilizer groups -- including Morocco’s OCP Group favorably. Double-Digit Revenue Growth According to the report, the group made a turnover of $11.28 billion, representing a 36% increase compared to a year earlier. The group attributed the development to the increase in selling prices in terms of its products, including phosphate rock. Phosphate rock is used in agriculture for soil fertilization. Farmers use rock phosphates to increase yield production as well as for industrial needs. The rock sales increased 51% year-over-year due to improved pricing, amid lower export volumes to key importing regions, OCP emphasized. Meanwhile, phosphoric acid revenue increased slightly up 1% “as lower export volumes, mainly to Europe and India, were largely offset by higher phosphoric acid prices. The drop in volumes to India primarily resulted from a shift to fertilizers to accommodate market trends and delayed second-quarter acid imports,” according to the group. In addition, the company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization -- also known as EBITDA increased by 38% year-over-year and reached $4.93 billion. Improved pricing, therefore, helped EBITDA margin to reach 44%. Commenting on the achievement, OCP said that the performance reflects the group’s “solid growth strategy and its commitment.” The group also expressed satisfaction with its strategy which helped the company to maintain its resilience amid the global context. “During 2022, phosphate fertilizer prices reached exceptionally high levels, owing to a number of key factors,” OCP said, citing supply chain disruptions, export restrictions, and input costs. Celebrating the significant double-digit revenue growth, the company said that this was driven by a 44% increase in fertilizer. This accounted for a record 64% of total revenue compared to 61% in 2021. With recent development, the group’s gross profit moved from $6.12 billion to $6.93 billion within one year (2021-2022). OCP’s high-demand markets The company also listed the markets in which the OCP group is boosting its industry -- stressing that it has focused its sales on different high-demand markets, including South America, Asia, and Africa. “This strategy has been successful, testifying to the solid position of our company, in these expanding markets, as well as our ability to adapt to the needs of our customers,” the group stressed. The report also quoted CEO of OCP Mostafa Terrab’s renewed commitment to continuing to enhance the group’s competitiveness. Terrab also recalled OCP’s investment program, whose second phase was launched recently. The program, according to Terrab, seeks to enhance and support the group’s “operational efficiency through capacity expansions and targeted sustainability investments around solar energy, water and Green Ammonia.” The group launched its second phase green investment plan with a total of $13 billion to be applied over the 2023-2027 period. The plan, which seeks to boost the group’s international position, covers investments in renewables and green hydrogen. Food security remains a top priority The OCP group launched several initiatives as part of its commitment to contribute to improving sustainable agriculture worldwide. The initiatives include the donation of fertilizers to several countries as well as discounted fertilizer to help smallholder farmers across the world. The discounted fertilizers covered 550,000 tonnes of fertilizers in 2022 to mitigate the impact of soaring material prices and drought. OCP also reiterated its commitment to continue helping farmers through dedicating four million tonnes of fertilizers on the continent in 2023. The fertilizers will help over 44 million farmers in 35 countries to use the right fertilizers to boost their yields. The group has long expressed eagerness to continue boosting sustainable agriculture on the continent. OCP’s CEO renewed the group’s objectives in a recent interview with the Financial Times, which was published in February. The interview reflected OCP’s strategy to help Africa. “We [in Africa] should be totally self-sufficient, and even export,” Terrab said, emphasizing that “big opportunities” exist on the continent. The group also stressed the importance of fertilizers to help develop the potential of the continent, whose use of fertilizer remains low. “Compared with other developing regions, fertilizer consumption in Africa has only risen marginally between the years 2000 to 2015,” a joint study from the African nation Commission and the UN Economic Commission for Africa confirmed. Despite the continent’s potential, food security remains one of the most concerning challenges amid po[CENSORED]tion growth. A 2022 report from the World Bank shared troubling data, suggesting that at least one in five people in Africa goes to bed hungry. Moreover, over 140 million people on the continent are facing acute food insecurity, the report added. © Morocco World News. All Rights Reserved. Even cheaper AM5 motherboards are around the corner. AMD's entry-level A620 motherboards may finally give consumers a reason to upgrade to the AM5 platform. Overseas retailers have started to list A620 motherboards from different vendors for under $100. B650 motherboards are great options for consumers that don't need all the features from a premium chipset like X670 or X670E. Still, it wasn't until recently that motherboard vendors started to roll out B650 motherboards at the $125 price point. But the A620 motherboards are the real heroes for consumers on a really tight budget. Manufacturers have to cut corners to bring a sub-$100 range AM5 motherboard to the market, so we should expect a severely reduced feature set on the A620 chipset. That will likely include slower interfaces, more basic connectivity options, and very modest power delivery subsystems, similar to the prior A520 motherboards. Polish retailer BuyIT and Slovakian retailer Edis Computers (via momomo_us(opens in new tab)) have listed MSI Pro A620M-E for $82.90(opens in new tab) and $79.11(opens in new tab), respectively (after converting to USD). The prices could be placeholders but we don't think so, given their similarity. Unfortunately, neither retailer posted any detailed information about the MSI Pro A620M-E. Furthermore, both got the specifications wrong, erroneously stating that the motherboard sports the LGA1700 socket. From the little available information, the MSI Pro A620M-E is a microATX motherboard with an HDMI and VGA port. Early rumors claim that there may be two A620 chipset designs. One (Promontory 21) reportedly is a cut-down version of the B650 chipset, whereas the other (Promontory 22) seemingly boasts a new design that's cheaper to produce. The first wave of A620 motherboards allegedly used the Promontory 21 design, and the latter offerings will transition to the Promontory 22 design. We think vendors may temporarily roll with the first design to meet AMD's launch window, rumored to be the middle of the year, before jumping on the second design later. AMD hasn't revealed the specifications for the A620 chipset; however, reputable hardware leaker chi11eddog has reportedly obtained some information on the upcoming budget chipset. The B650 chipset delivers eight PCIe 4.0 lanes with an uplink consisting of four PCIe 4.0 lanes. The A620, on the other hand, purportedly offers the same number of chipset lanes and uplink, but they are limited to PCIe 3.0 speeds. Unlike B650, A620 seemingly lacks PCIe 5.0 support. Therefore, the 28 PCIe lanes from Zen 4 processors are limited to PCIe 4.0 speeds. It's not a huge letdown since PCIe 4.0 SSDs are still plenty fast for most consumers' needs. Moreover, even the best graphics cards are happy with a PCIe 4.0 interface (none of them support PCIe 5.0 yet), so having a budget chipset without PCIe 5.0 support isn't a huge deal. A620 is rumored to lack CrossFireX support as well — not like anyone even uses that feature anymore. The A620 chipset could arrive without support for processor overclocking, which is to be expected since A620 motherboards likely won't have robust power delivery subsystems. For the same reason, it's possible that some of the basic A620 motherboards may not have what it takes to handle the higher-watt Ryzen 7000 chips, such as the 170W Ryzen 9 7950X. We'll have to wait to find out. Luckily, memory overclocking is still on the table, according to the leaked information. Other rumored compromises reside in the USB connectivity. The A620 chipset might not support USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports. It could be limited to just two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports while retaining the six USB 2.0 ports. A620 motherboards will be a welcome addition to the pricey AM5 platform. Consumers will finally be able to tap into the best CPUs without spending a small fortune on an AM5 motherboard. In addition, with DRAM pricing plummeting, DDR5 memory should be cheaper very soon, giving buyers added stimulus to hop on the Zen 4 train.

Rabat - While the person responsible for the Islamophobic act against Morocco’s national football team in Spain has been identified, the head coach of the Moroccan team has urged Moroccans to forgive the hotel management as the racist attack was out of their control. As Muslims, we should forgive such incidents and not give them more attention than they deserve, Walid Regragui said on Monday. Morocco’s football team faced racist and Islamophobic acts at the Eurostars Madrid Tower hotel, where the Atlas Lions arrived on Sunday ahead of their friendly game against Peru on Tuesday evening. The hotel management should not be blamed for the attack as it was out of their control, Regragui stressed while speaking today at a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game, adding that racism is part of society. Hotel personnel took several pictures of members of the Moroccan team without their knowledge. They then went on to post the pictures online while making fun of the Moroccan players and mocking the holy month of Ramadan. “Damn f*** Moros. I s*** on Ramadan and it's f*** dead,” reads one of the screenshots of the insulting posts from some of the hotel employees. Another viral screenshot included insults to the Moroccan football team and Islam. “The Moroccan team is in the Towers, you are a f*** pain,” said one of the posts. 🔴 HONTEUX ! » pic.twitter.com/nyuLU4WbPc — TFT MOROCCO (@TFT_Morocco) March 27, 2023 The incident received widespread media attention in Spain, with Spanish outlets saying that the team’s stay in Spain “has been marred by some unpleasant incidents” at the Eurostars Madrid Tower hotel. According to a report from Spanish sports outlet AS, the hotel has strongly condemned the racist incident and vowed to take legal action against the individuals behind the anti-Islam and xenophobic posts. The hotel’s rating has plummeted in the wake of the racist incident, going from 4.5 to 2.9 stars. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/03/354711/regragui-as-muslims-we-should-forgive-islamophobic-incident-at-madrid-hotel

Despite AMD's announcement last September that motherboards for the new Ryzen 7000-series processors and AM5 platform would eventually cost $125, the high prices of AM5 motherboards have persisted even after six months since the launch, which has contributed to the slow adoption of the platform by the general public. AMD's A620 chipset promises to radically cut costs of AM5 mainboards and it looks like ASRock will be the first company to an A620-based platform. VideoCardz on Monday published the first pictures of ASRock's A620M-HDV/M.2 motherboard revealing what is to expect from a typical platform based on AMD's low-cost platform for AM5-based machines. To cut down the cost of its A620M-HDV/M.2, ASRock equipped it with an inexpensive 3+1+1-phase voltage regulating module (VRM) that uses solid-state inductors and capacitors but which can hardly enable overclocking (even if A620 supported it), reduced the number of DIMM slots to two, and omitted PCIe 5.0 support both for graphics and for storage (as per AMD's recommendations for A620-based platforms). While some enthusiasts may consider the exclusion of overclocking as a con, it should be noted that AMD's Ryzen 7000X3D-series do not support overclocking in general, yet offer market leading performance in games. That said, AMD's A620 platform could be a good choice for gamers in budget, especially considering that the fact that there are no client GPUs that use a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface (and it looks like they are not going to hit the market for at least a year) and PCIe 5.0 x4 SSDs do not seem bring too many benefits to DirectStorage-enabled games when compared to drives with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. As for other expansion options available on the A620M-HDV/M.2, they comprise of a PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2-2280 slot, an M.2-2230 slot for Wi-Fi adapters, two SATA ports, and two PCIe x1 slots . In addition to these, it also features a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a GbE connector, four USB 2.0/3.0 Type-A ports, and audio jacks. ASRock's A620M-HDV/M.2 will not be the company's only A620-powered solution in the company's stable. The company is prepping nine of such motherboards, according to an entry in the EEC customs database. Based on the model names of ASRock's motherboards, the company intends to offer AMD A620-based motherboards only in Micro-ATX form-factor. This seems to be a logical move as most inexpensive PCs these days use this form-factor. As usual, there is one thing that should be noted about all EEC filings: while they may reveal products that are planned to be released, they are not indicators that these products will actually ship. Changes to the EEC customs database may be made days before launch or months before launch.

When Apple launched its excellent third-generation Apple TV 4K (2022) in November of (you guessed it) 2022, the company promised to add Quick Media Support (QMS) with a later tvOS update. And lo! The setting option is now showing up for owners of a compatible 2023 TV. Why should you care? Well, when paired with Apple TV 4K's 'Match Frame Rate' function, QMS can seamlessly match frame rates for output in 23.976Hz, 24Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, and so on without any so-called 'HDMI bonk' (aka a momentary black screen of nothingness during transition) or picture interruptions on the TV, as long as other factors remain the same – chiefly, the resolution you're watching in. How do you get it? As first reported by FlatpanelsHD(opens in new tab), QMS can be deployed on Apple TV 4K (2022) by hitting Settings -> Video and Audio -> Match Content -> Quick Media Switching -> On. The useful feature means a more seamless video playback experience (and not a moment lost to a ponderous black screen) when switching between content types, video apps, and the best streaming services. Hurrah! So just tweak the settings on the media player and job done? Not quite. QMS must also be supported on your TV – and LG is the only brand to have officially announced its support for QMS on select 2023 OLED and LCD models, including its 2023 LG C3 and LG B3 OLED TVs. Can't decide which of those two sets is a better bet for your household? You're good, we've compiled an LG B3 vs LG C3 explainer to help you choose. Interestingly (and perhaps a tad bizarrely), FlatpanelsHD also reported that one Samsung S95C QD-OLED TV owner did see the menu setting option, which appears only when a compatible TV is connected to Apple TV 4K (2022) …although the user also added that it didn't actually work with the Samsung S95C. It should also be noted that Apple hasn't announced plans to support QMS on earlier versions of Apple TV 4K, such as the Apple TV 4K (2021), which is still one of the best streaming devices for your TV despite having been superseded. But we're not ruling out future QMS support from Apple in older devices, just as we're hoping Samsung might do the decent thing and announce QMS support for its newest QLED lineup soon.

Rabat - Morocco’s national football team continued their good run from the 2022 World Cup by defeating Brazil at the Tangier Grand Stadium on Saturday night, becoming the second African team to do so. The win has been celebrated in international media, carrying on from the praise the Atlas Lions received for their 2022 World Cup performances. Spanish sports outlet Marca said the Moroccan team activated their “World Cup mode” to defeat the Brazilians, who hold the record for the most World Cups won with a total of five. “Morocco extended its state of euphoria on Saturday with a historic 2-1 victory over Brazil without Neymar, who was absent due to injury,” the newspaper wrote. “Walid Regragui’s team hasn’t lost an iota of the essence that led them to defeat Belgium, Spain, and Portugal in the last World Cup,” they added, emphasizing the team’s passion despite the game being a friendly. AS, another Spanish sports outlet, said that “Morocco extends its dream” by defeating the Selecao, adding that the Saturday performance showed that the Atlas Lions’ World Cup run was not a fluke. The outlet also lauded the Moroccan fans, who turned up in great numbers again and passionately cheered on the team. Sky Sports similarly praised what they called a “famous win,” pointing to Morocco’s danger on the counter-attack. “World Cup semi-finalists Morocco did not hold back and delivered a statement win against FIFA's top-ranked side in their first game after an outstanding Qatar 2022 campaign,” they wrote. Another outlet praising the Atlas Lions was Al Jazeera, which described the win as historic and Morocco’s performance as excellent. “This is the first victory for an Arab national team over the five-time world champions, and comes after two previous defeats for Morocco against Brazil, with the last one being in the 1998 World Cup,” they said. Morocco defeated the Brazilian team 2-1 on Saturday, with goals from Soufiane Boufal and Abdelhamid Sabiri, while Casemiro scored the only goal on behalf of the visitor's team. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/03/354690/morocco-extends-its-dream-international-media-praise-historic-win-over-brazil

Today's Wordle answer is another easy one! According to WordleBot, people are solving it in an average of 3.6 guesses, and it's one of those games were many of the best Wordle starting words were particularly useful. That doesn't mean you won't want some Wordle hints, though, because failure in this game is only ever six guesses away. I've played every day since December 2021 and can give you some clues to ensure your streak stays intact. So read on for my hints and the answers to game #645 and bookmark this page so you can easily return tomorrow. Oh, and if you also play Quordle then my Quordle today page contains hints and answers for that, too. Today's Wordle answer means to free from restraint. If you just want to know today's Wordle answer now, simply scroll down - but I'd always recommend trying to solve it on your own first. We've got lots of Wordle tips and tricks to help you, including a guide to the best Wordle start words. If you don't want to know today's answer then DO NOT SCROLL ANY FURTHER BECAUSE IT IS PRINTED BELOW. So don't say you weren't warned! Today's Wordle answer (game #645) is… UNTIE. We're right in the midst of one of the easiest Wordle patches we've had - only five of the past 20 games have had an average score of above 4, and today's puzzle should be particularly straightforward for most people, with WordleBot reporting a score of just 3.6. Not everyone will find it so easy, of course, and a lot will depend on whether you use one of the best Wordle starting words. Almost all of WordleBot's top choices narrowed things down considerably today: SLATE left just 23 answers, while CRANE (24), TRACE (23), CARTE (22), CRATE (22) and STARE (24) were all in the same ballpark. A few options were even more successful; if you played TRICE today, you'll have had just three possible options remaining! A look at the letters involved explains why: four of the five are in the top 10 most common letters overall, and E is the most likely letter to end a Wordle answer. Lots of people will have begun today's game with a green E at the end. That's what happened to me, with a yellow T also appearing after my starter of STARE. From there, it was a simple task of listing the answers, then choosing a good second word that narrowed things down further. I came up 17 of the 24 that WordleBot reckons were solutions, but the eventual answer wasn't among them. No matter; I got very lucky with my second guess, TITLE, which I figured would establish the T's position and might even give me a 2/6. It did the former but not the latter, and also uncovered an I. Remarkably, that left just two possible solutions: CUTIE and UNTIE. However, I hadn't spotted the first of those two, so played UNTIE with an assumption that it had to be right. Well, today the Wordle gods smiled on me and it proved to be the correct solution, giving me another 3/6. How did you do today? Send me an email and let me know. Yesterday's Wordle answer (game #644) was… VOTER. Yes, it's an ER word. And we don't like ER words, do we? Well I certainly don't; I almost always end up scoring a 4/6 or lower on them. There are just too many possible answers to quickly narrow down the options. In fact, a couple of my most difficult games ever have been ER words, with the likes of ELDER, HOMER, GAMER, PARER and RIPER all resulting in a 6/6. VOTER has an average score of 4.1, according to WordleBot, with the game potentially made harder than some by the presence of a V at the start of the answer. V is not a particularly common starting letter; it's the 16th most likely to be in this position. On the plus side, for me at least, there's also a T in the answer, meaning that my choice of the best Wordle starting words, STARE, proved better than most. That word left me with 40 possible solutions, whereas anyone starting with WordleBot's favored SLATE still had to whittle down 114 of them! CRANE (187) and SLANT (180) were even worse - though the likes of TRACE (36) and CRATE/CARTE (48) were OK. I like to play INTER as my second word when I have a yellow T, E and R from my first guess, because it confirms (or rules out) the ER structure right away and adds two very common letters in I and N. WordleBot prefer BERET, and I can see there's value in ruling out the repeated E option as soon as possible, but the other vowels are all common too, so I'd rather play one of those earlier. My approach fared better than WordleBot's today: INTER confirmed the TER pattern and left me with just six possible answers, whereas BERET would have left 13. I found all of those six independently, coming up with METER, PETER, VOTER, CUTER, OUTER and DETER. The sensible thing to do was play a word that would rule in/out all of the options and guarantee a 4/6 - however, I couldn't think of a word that did that. The best I could do was DEUCE, which would have guaranteed a 4/6 unless the answer was METER or PETER - in which case I'd still face a 50/50. That said, I wasn't too worried as I know Wordle doesn't generally have many answers that are also names. In fact, the NYT removed HARRY soon after it bought Wordle, because it thought it would be confusing. I don't know for sure that PETER isn't an answer, but I took the risk and it paid off. DEUCE gave me just a single yellow E, meaning it couldn't be METER or PETER (the E would have turned green), couldn't be DETER (there was no D) and couldn't be OUTER or CUTER (no U). That just left VOTER, and I scored a WordleBot-equalling 4/6 as a result. If you're on this page then you almost certainly know what Wordle is already, and indeed have probably been playing it for a while. And even if you've not been playing it, you must surely have heard of it by now, because it's the viral word game phenomenon that took the world by storm last year and is still going strong in 2023. We've got a full guide to the game in our What is Wordle page, but if you just want a refresher then here are the basics. What is Wordle? Wordle challenges you to guess a new five-letter word each day. You get six guesses, with each one revealing a little more information. If one of the letters in your guess is in the answer and in the right place, it turns green. If it's in the answer but in the wrong place, it turns yellow. And if it's not in the answer at all it turns gray. Simple, eh? It's played online via the Wordle website(opens in new tab) or the New York Times' Crossword app (iOS(opens in new tab) / Android(opens in new tab)), and is entirely free. Crucially, the answer is the same for everyone each day, meaning that you're competing against the rest of the world, rather than just against yourself or the game. The puzzle then resets each day at midnight in your local time, giving you a new challenge, and the chance to extend your streak. What are the Wordle rules? The rules of Wordle are pretty straightforward, but with a couple of curveballs thrown in for good measure. 1. Letters that are in the answer and in the right place turn green. 2. Letters that are in the answer but in the wrong place turn yellow. 3. Letters that are not in the answer turn gray. 4. Answers are never plural. 5. Letters can appear more than once. So if your guess includes two of one letter, they may both turn yellow, both turn green, or one could be yellow and the other green. 6. Each guess must be a valid word in Wordle's dictionary. You can't guess ABCDE, for instance. 7. You do not have to include correct letters in subsequent guesses unless you play on Hard mode. 8. You have six guesses to solve the Wordle. 9. You must complete the daily Wordle before midnight in your timezone. 10. All answers are drawn from Wordle's list of 2,309 solutions. However… 11. Wordle will accept a wider pool of words as guesses – some 10,000 of them. For instance, you can guess a plural such as WORDS. It definitely won't be right (see point 4 above), but Wordle will accept it as a guess.

One of the most po[CENSORED]r microcontroller boards around, the Arduino Uno launched all the way back in 2010 and the Uno R3 (revision 3) has been the standard for more than ten years. So it was big news yesterday when, as part of its Arduino Day live stream(opens in new tab), the company announced the upcoming Arduino Uno R4 board, which will offer huge leaps forward in processing power, RAM, storage and connectivity. Due out in May for an as-yet-undisclosed price, the Arduino Uno R4 will be available in both "Minima" (regular) and Wi-Fi versions. The wireless version will have an Espressif S3 module that supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The Uno R4 will maintain the same pinout and layout as its predecessor but step up to a 32-bit, Renesas RA4M1 CPU running at 48 MHz. That's a huge upgrade from the 8-bit, 16-MHz ATmega328P processor in prior Unos. The new chip is based on the Arm Cortex M4 architecture as opposed to the AVR RISC-based platform on the prior processor. Arduino says that most existing software libraries should work with no modification but a few that were optimized for AVR might need to be tweaked. The Uno R4 will have 32K of SRAM, which is 16x more than the 2K on the Uno R3. It will also have 256K of onboard NAND versus 32K on the R3. There's a USB-C port for connecting a PC in lieu of the clunky USB Type-B port on older models. The barrel power connector remains in place but can now handle up to 24V instead of 20V. A 12-bit analog DAC, a CAN bus and an SPI port are also on board. In the official photo (shown at the top of this article) of the Uno R4, Arduino has put yellow and green boxes over parts of the PCB. In its broadcast, the company said that it is maintaining an element of surprise and not revealing what's under the boxes until closer to the launch. If you want to be among the first to buy an Uno R4, you can sign up for the waiting list(opens in new tab) which will alert you when the board is for sale. There's also an early adopter program(opens in new tab) for developers who have written po[CENSORED]r libraries. If you are accepted into the program, the company will send you a free Uno R4. While we don't know what the Uno R4 will cost, it seems safe to assume that the Minima version will go for $25 or more as that's what the Uno R3 costs today. The Uno R4 WiFi will obviously be pricier. The new Uno R4 should be a boon for makers who builds robots or iOT devices with Arduino currently. It will be compatible with a huge ecosystem of shields and other accessories while providing much better performance. However, the Uno R4 faces very stiff competition from boards based on Raspberry Pi's RP2040 chip. The RP2040 operates at a generous 133 MHz (about 3x the Uno R4) with dual cores and 256K of SRAM. There are numerous boards with the RP2040 but the first-party Raspberry Pi Pico goes for just $4 for the basic model or $6 with Wi-Fi / Bluetooth. On the other hand, the Uno R4 can handle a lot more power than an RP2040 board as its power connector supports up to 24V instead of a mere 5V on Raspberry Pi's platform. We have a detailed comparison of the prior gen Arduino versus Raspberry Pi Pico, which we'll update as soon as we get our hands on the R4.

The veteran midfielder has reigned in his flamboyant tendencies for Benfica - but we cannot forget how magical he was for QPR There is a moment in the 44th minute of the Champions League quarter final first leg between Benfica and Liverpool, where Adel Taarabt, midway inside his own half, takes a clearance, spins deftly into space and fires a lovely floated through ball for Rafa Silva to sprint through. It did not result in a goal, as Silva blazed over under pressure, and it did not prevent Benfica from losing the match and ultimately the pulsating two-legged tie - but it does show how there still remains that trickster dog within Taarabt that thrilled English football fans years ago. Taarabt made his name at QPR as one of the most thrilling players of the early 2010s, with a penchant for a mazy dribble and an eye for a thunderous wondergoal. These days, however, he is to be found patrolling the defensive midfield zones for Portuguese giants - a career change few who watched him in west London would have seen coming. have been a regular occurrence, he struggled mightily across the two legs against Liverpool because their midfield three and wide attackers dragged him hither and thither. It was a turning of tables for Taarabt. Certainly those who watched the Championship between 2009 and 2011 will remember that it was he who would have opposition defenders and midfielders on a string. Taarabt was only 17 when he moved to English football from Lens, initially on loan in January 2007 before a permanent transfer that summer. Having starred for his family's adopted home nation of France at youth level, it was something of a coup for a Spurs side, at that time floating closer to mid-table, to secure his signature - and it was one Taarabt would later say he regretted. He told talkSPORT: “I signed for Spurs because when I was in France, for us, we were watching the Premier League but it was the top four. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool. “But to me it was almost all done that I would go to Arsenal and then after Damien Comolli, who was working at [Tottenham], convinced me to come. “At that time I was playing at France Under-17s and I could have gone to all the big three in any leagues." Taarabt struggled to break into the Spurs first team picture under either Juande Ramos or Harry Redknapp, so in March 2009 was allowed to sign for QPR, initially on loan. This was where the fun began. A goal Taarabt scored on October 1, 2009 against Preston in the Championship sums up just why he electrified audiences - taking down a skewed goal kick on the touchline around half way, he swivels, beats three men in a jinking run, before slamming into the top corner from 25 yards. It is a wonder goal in its purest form, a mixture of individual skill and long-range finishing. And it wasn't even until the following season that Taarabt hit the high point of the first half of his career. In 2010-11, Taarabt scored 19 goals and provided 21 assists in 44 Championship fixtures as Neil Warnock's QPR steamrolled their way to the second-tier title. Having been signed permanently for just £1 million from Spurs, he was named the league's player of the season - an accolade absolutely no-one could argue with. This should have been the platform for Taarabt to spring into Premier League stardom, however a turbulent summer turned his head and he was never quite the same again in English football. He was linked with moves throughout the summer, revealing 10 years later how close he came to a switch to PSG. Asked if he was ready to sign for the French champions ahead of the 2011-12 season, Taarabt told GOAL in 2021: "Yes, after my season when I got promoted, yes, it was all done. "I was speaking with Nasser [Al-Khelaifi] and we were together but he told me we had to wait because Leonardo will be arriving from Inter, but it didn't happen because of fees. I was already in Paris waiting." With his mind elsewhere, Taarabt failed to shine in the Premier League, scoring only twice in 27 games during 2011-12 as QPR only avoided relegation on the final day. He slightly improved the following campaign with five goals and five assists from 33 league games, but it was not enough for them to evade the drop this time. All was not well behind the scenes either - Redknapp, the man who sold Taarabt from Spurs, had taken over as QPR manager. The club spent wildly and erratically in an attempt to stave off relegation, and their former talisman was not shy about making his opinions heard. Taarabt said: "Half the players at QPR didn’t care about the club, they were just making money. I had one of the bigger salaries but I cared about football because I loved football. “When I came for pre-season I told Redknapp to his face, ‘This team is going down’. He said the same thing as me, that he agreed with me. "I don’t think he [Redknapp] has the passion for the game like people think. Harry is not a bad person but he is a very bad coach and, for me, a very bad manager.” Thus began Taarabt's nomadic years. Loan spells at Fulham and AC Milan, a fleeting return to QPR where Redknapp criticised his fitness, before a €4m switch to Benfica whereupon he failed to play a single first team minute for a season and a half, and was loaned to Genoa for 18 months. Since early 2019 however, things have changed. The coach of Benfica B, Bruno Lage, was put in charge of the first team, and took Taarabt with him. Now the other side of 30, he was deployed as the elder statesman anchoring the midfield while the young bucks, including a certain Darwin Nunez, caused havoc up top. He told The Athletic of his new role: “It’s a different area, where you cannot risk so much. In England I was free, and the only thing asked of me was to create. Now I work on both sides, trying to create and defend as well. "I have to be very disciplined. I don’t arrive around the box, I do get there, but I am more the third-last pass. It is more about making the team play." And so Taarabt enters the final stage of his career a calmer figure than that which most will recognise or remember. But as that one pass proved, true entertainers never quite lose that knack. https://www.goal.com/en/news/adel-taarabt-trickster-in-london-statesman-in-lisbon/bltb6e9f1e2b35d6708

Rabat - The European Court of Human Rights has demanded of the Russian government to annul the death penalty verdict against Brahim Saadoun, and ensure that his rights are respected. The Strasbourg court released a statement on Friday indicating its demands to the Russian government. The statement added that both Russia and Ukraine’s governments should ensure that the detainee is kept under humane conditions and given full rights, including medical treatment. The court asked the Russian government to inform it within two weeks of the measures implemented by them to “guarantee respect of the treaty rights” of Saadoun. The court added that Ukraine has to also guarantee and respect his contractual rights, as he was arrested while fighting for the Ukrainian army as a uniformed member of its military, which grants him protection under the Geneva convention. The case of Saadoun and two British men who were sentenced to death alongside him garnered widespread condemnation regionally and internationally. International demands have called on Russia and Donetsk authorities to not carry out the disputed sentence. Saadoun was taken prisoner by Russian forces in April, while fighting for the Ukrainian military. After a trial on Wednesday June 8, he was sentenced to death along with two others who were also fighting for the Ukrainians. While Saadoun was charged with being a foreign mercenary, international organizations and activists said he cannot be sentenced to death as he is a prisoner of war, having fought with Ukraine under a legal contract after obtaining Ukrainian citizenship. Friends and family have recently renewed calls for governments to intervene to save the men from the death penalty. Moroccan diplomatic sources in Kiev said the court that handed down the sentence is not recognized internationally or by Morocco. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/06/349766/european-court-of-human-rights-calls-on-russia-not-to-execute-saadoun
