  1. It is true that Google has just released Android 13 to all supported Pixel devices. However, the company has wasted no time and has started working on Android 14 as well. We recently learned about how the future OS is going to be hitting the beta next year, but today, we have some more information on what you can expect from the upcoming Android version, and based on the source, it will feature satellite connectivity. Your Phones Could Soon be Able to Gain Sattelite Connectivity Features with Android 14 Considering how T-Mobile and Space X have talked about bringing direct satellite connectivity to smartphones, Google has now joined and said that Android 14 will “support our partners in enabling all of this.” The update on this is coming from Hiroshi Lockheimer, Google’s Senior Vice President of Platforms & Ecosystems this morning, who has talked about how it “was a stretch to get 3G + Wifi working” on the first Android phone back in 2018. Lockheimer also talks about "user experiences for phones that can connect to satellites” is going to be different from the way phones connect to LTE or 5G, for that matter. Users can expect speeds, connectivity, and even interaction time to be different this time around. You can expect just “two to four megabits of bandwidth per cellular zone,” as Space Explored talked about last week. Considering the available bandwidth, Elon Musk has also said that the satellite connectivity could support “one to two thousand simultaneous voice calls or hundreds of thousands of text messages that could be sent depending on the length of the text message.” It is important to know that satellite connectivity on smartphones is mainly used for emergency situations and to get rid of the cellular dead zones that exist. T-Mobile has plans to support text messaging, MMS, and even certain messaging apps. The carrier has also mentioned that it will need to cooperate with partners to ensure that the messaging traffic is separated from other data traffic. 2. The global inflation woes have increased component costs, and Apple will have little choice but to pass on those increases to the iPhone 14 lineup that is slated to announce in September. Thankfully, one market intelligence firm believes these monetary changes will not be as massive as previously predicted. Base iPhone 14 to Reportedly Start From $749, With ‘Pro’ Models Estimated to See a $50 Price Increase Instead of $100 There have been two instances where Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives has stated that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would be $100 more expensive than their direct predecessors. However, as 9to5Mac reports, TrendForce has a different take on things, believing customers to only pay $50 more for the premium versions. A previous rumor claimed that the base iPhone 14 would start from $799, and TrendForce estimates that the non-Pro models will be cheaper, too, starting from $749. Given the new estimates, you should expect to pay the following for each iPhone 14 model. Remember, the pricing represents each version with base internal memory. iPhone 14 - $749 iPhone 14 Max - $849 iPhone 14 Pro - $1,049 iPhone 14 Pro Max - $1,149 The ‘Pro’ models command a higher price since both are rumored to exclusively ship with the A16 Bionic, faster, more efficient LPDDR5 RAM, a 48MP main camera, and a ProMotion panel. All these additions will mean consumers need to pay a higher price, but even with the component price increases and global inflation affecting a multitude of regions, what Apple is rumored to ask is not ridiculous compared to the iPhone 13 family. for more:https://wccftech.com/iphone-14-price-increase-smaller-than-previous-estimates/
  3. AMD's recently unveiled 5nm Zen 4 CPU core is going to fundamentally change the whole laptop segment when it makes its debut on the Dragon Range and Phoenix Point Mobility CPUs in early 2023. AMD's 5nm Zen 4 Cores Are Going To Be A Game-Changer For Mobility CPUs When It Debuts Within Dragon Range & Phoenix Point Next Year One of the most interesting slides published yesterday by AMD was the generational performance and efficiency improvement between the 5nm Zen 4 and 7nm Zen 3 cores. AMD used the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X 16-core CPU and compared it against the last-gen flagship, the Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core CPU. In the three results published by AMD, the Zen 4 chip delivered: Up To 35% Faster Performance at 170W Up To 37% Faster Performance at 105W Up To 74% Faster Performance at 65W These are some respectable gains but the difference at 65W is the one we are going to talk about. We know that these figures were taken as a best-case scenario for the 5nm Zen 4 core but a +74% is monumental and this is where we have to bring mobile CPUs into the discussion. We know that AMD is working on two Mobility CPU lineups for 2023, one is called Dragon Range and the other is called Phoenix Point. The AMD Dragon Range CPUs will be aimed at the high-performance segment with more cores, threads, & cache than what AMD has offered us previously while Phoenix Point will be aimed at the thin and light laptop segment. The Dragon Range CPUs will have a TDP rating of around 55W+ while Phoenix Point will have TDPs around 35-45W. The 55W TDP is for the base configuration and we can expect the chip to be configurable up to 65W for laptop designs with high-end cooling and bigger form factors. Considering that AMD's current laptop lineup peaks out at 8 cores and 16 threads, AMD will be targetting up to 16 cores and 32 threads with its Dragon Range family of Ryzen 7000 CPUs. The CPUs will also feature more cache of up to 80 MB versus just 20 MB featured on AMD's current fastest laptop chip, the Ryzen 9 6980HX. Considering up to a 74% improvement versus Zen 3 in multi-threaded applications at a 65W TDP threshold, we can see a huge gain in performance and that would also exceed Intel's existing Alder Lake-HX lineup which features up to 16 cores and 24 threads. 4. We all know about the fact that Instagram has been busy for some time now as the company is testing new features to the platform. While, at the time of writing, there is no way to customize what ends up on your feed, that might be changing soon. The company has announced that it is in the process of testing a number of ways that will let users improve the content on the Explore page in the future. Instagram Will Soon Allow You to Filter Content with Great Ease Once this feature does roll out, Instagram users will have an option to make sure that their Explore page is only showing the media they want to see and not something else. At the moment, our Explore page is a culmination of the type of posts that we engage with most commonly. However, in between that, you end up seeing some posts that have absolutely nothing in common with what you actually look at You can look at the image below and that will give you an idea.. The new test will let users refine their feed further and hopefully, have recommended content delivered that is actually in line with what users are interested in. Users will also be able to refine their feed by selecting the content they are not interested in and marking it as "Not Interested." While this certainly is a great solution, sometimes, it can go ahead and make it slower for a lot of people. The new test is going to allow you to mark multiple items all at once, and it will make things a lot faster for everyone, which is a good thing. It is worth noting that the feature is not available for everyone and there is a chance that Instagram might go ahead and change things altogether, but we do need a new filtering feature. 6. It has only been a while since Android 13 officially came out and Google has now decided to update the text on its Android Beta Program page. The company now mentions how it will be continuing the rollout of Quarterly Platform Releases starting from September 2022. For those who do not know, these updates test the quarterly feature drops for supported Pixel phones through the Android Beta Program. However, the interesting part is that Google has actually mentioned when the Android 13 QPR period will end and pave way for the Android 14 beta. With Stable Android 13 Concluded, Google Finally Gears Up for Android 13 QPR and Android 14 Beta The changes made to the frequently asked section on Google's Android beta page states the following. Android 13 QPR beta updates continue through March 2023 followed by Android 14 beta releases. It is worth noting that Google previously mentioned that the Android 13 QPR is going to run until June 2023. However, this time around, Google has shortened the timeline and it has ensured that the company is not going to be running two Android beta programs at the same time. The updated text is an indication enough that the first Android 14 beta would most likely be available in April 2023, once Google concludes the Android 13 QPR.The Android 14 timing does line up with the launch of the Android 13 beta that was released earlier this year in April, succeeding the developer preview builds that started showing up in February and March. So, it is safe to say that Google is confirming once again that it will be sticking to the same timeline We currently do not have any solid information on Android 14, but considering how Android 13 is a minor upgrade over Android 12, it is safe to say that the next version could be a major one. We will keep you posted as we hear more. For more:https://wccftech.com/android-14-release-date-finally-indicated-by-google/
  7. During an interview with AMD after the Ryzen 7000 Unveil, the company confirmed that its 5nm Zen 4 CPUs won't face any supply constraints. In addition to that, AMD has made a commitment that it will support the AM5 platform through and beyond 2025. AMD 5nm CPUs Including Ryzen 7000 Will Not Have Any Supply Issues At Launch, Enough CPUs For Everyone! The first and most important bit that comes directly from AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, is that the 5nm Zen 4 CPUs including the recently unveiled Ryzen 7000 lineup won't be affected by supply issues, reports PCGamer. The red team acknowledged that while previous products on the 7nm process node saw supply constraints at launch, that won't be the case with their 5nm products and as such, the Ryzen 7000 CPU lineup will be available plenty. "It is true that if you look at the past 18 months there have been a number of things, whether its capacity limitations or logistics," says Dr. Su. "From an AMD standpoint, we have dramatically increased our overall capacity, in terms of wafers, as well as substrates and on the back end. So with our launch of Zen 4 we don't expect any supply constraints. "Logistically it takes a little bit longer for things to get into region. So we're having this event at the end of August and we're on sale on September 27. One of the reasons for that time, frankly, is to make sure that we do have product in region so that people can really look at buying across the board. AMD Promises To Support AM5 Platform Through & Beyond 2025 Another major thing confirmed by AMD is the commitment to the new AM5 platform. The AM4 socket has seen over 5 years of support and the red team has promised continued support for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, AMD's CEO, Dr. Lisa Su, plans to offer a similar level of commitment to the AM5 platform that should last through 2025 and beyond. 8. One of the things about Vampires, and other similar vampiric creatures, is that you can put them in any setting, and if done right, they can be interesting. Using vampires and strange versions of these is something Evil West is looking to do, and from the first glimpse, developers Flying Wild Hog look like they're doing this right. As for gameplay, I'll also point you towards the first preview here on Wccftech from Kai, but let's look at it from my perspective. Jumping into Evil West, the developer told me it's best to use a gamepad, so I used it. The mouse and keyboard are supported, don't fear there, but we've all got pads now. I can see why Flying Wild Hog recommends a gamepad for this. Movement in combat - and traversing the areas - feels fluid and responsive on the pad and requires the 360 degrees of freedom that WASD doesn't entirely give. That and how combat works will make for easier use. Combat is a mixture of traditional wild-west gunplay, giving you a six-shooter and rifle, mixed with a slower and more methodical melee combat style inspired by Devil May Cry (confirmed to me by the developer when asked). Other inspirations mentioned were God of War, on the gameplay side, and thematically the developers have taken influence from the work of Guillermo Del Toro, particularly Blade II. Anyway, combat. When fighting, you can hold the right trigger to unload your six-shooter into an enemy, aim using the left to pull out your rifle, then the right trigger to fire, or start doing some melee damage using the right bumper. The DMC inspiration is clear, with melee offering combos that can be combined with your gunplay, letting you uppercut an enemy and keep them in the air with your six-shooter. Another option is to weaken an enemy from afar, and they'll start glowing yellow. If you get in close, you can perform a melee finisher which will also let you recover some health. It all makes for a compelling and surprisingly fluid combat system. It's not as fast-paced as such as DMC, but the inspiration is clear. Other elements of combat that draw from other sources are opportunities to do massive damage to an enemy that's just about to attack you by hitting them in a temporary glowing spot before they get their hit off. Doing this often results in an over-the-top gory kill, which can be pretty comical. for more:https://wccftech.com/evil-west-preview-gamescom/

  10. Intel's 13th-Gen Raptor Lake processors will bring more cores, more connectivity, a revamped core architecture, support for PCIe 5.0 SSDs, and possibly even a rumored 6.0 GHz peak boost clock to bear. And that's not to mention any potential IPC improvements. These chips will arrive this year to square off with AMD's Zen 4 Ryzen 7000 processors, setting the stage for a fierce battle for desktop PC supremacy — particularly for the crown of the best CPU for gaming as the Intel vs AMD rivalry enters a new stage. Intel's Alder Lake brought the company back from what had been a slow erosion of its leadership position in our CPU benchmarks rankings as AMD relentlessly iterated on its Ryzen processor lineup. AMD's string of innovations eventually culminated in an embarrassing loss of the performance crown for Intel as the Ryzen 5000 processors outclassed Intel's chips in every performance, price, and power metric that mattered back in 2020, capping Intel's decline from grace after incessant delays moving to its oft-delayed and seemingly doomed 10nm process node. Alder Lake righted the ship. These chips brought the best of Intel's newly re-worked 10nm process, now re-named 'Intel 7,' enabling higher clock rates and lower power consumption, paving the way for Raptor Lake. Intel will etch the Raptor Lake processors on a refined version of that same process node and pair it with its newly-revamped x86 hybrid architecture, a design that combines a mix of larger high-performance cores paired with smaller high-efficiency cores. Like its predecessor, Raptor Lake will also support disruptive new features like PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 but preserves DDR4 support for less-expensive build options. Raptor Lake will also drop right into existing motherboards to offer an upgrade path for Alder Lake users, but there will be new 700-series motherboards at launch that offer better connectivity options. Intel is also introducing more CPU overclock features for Raptor Lake, too. Even though Raptor Lake is clearly on the cusp of coming to market this year — we've even seen chips sold at auction and benchmarks in the wild — Intel has been uncharacteristically silent about its pending line of chips for desktop PCs. In fact, the company has said more about its next-next-gen Meteor Lake chips than it has about Raptor Lake. That hasn't stopped us from gathering all of the information we know from official and unofficial sources into this article. We even have pictures of the new processor die. We'll update the article as we learn more, but here's what we know so far. for more:https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-13th-gen-raptor-lake-release-date-specifications-pricing-benchmarks-all-we-know-specs
  11. HyperX, HP's gaming-focused division, is entering the gaming monitor market with the launch of two mid-tier IPS models under the new Armada brand. The Armada 25 features a 24.5-inch FHD 240Hz panel and costs $449.99, while the $499.99 Armada 27 is equipped with a 27-inch QHD 165Hz display. Both models are expected to go on sale next month. The new Armada gaming monitors from HyperX appear to be fairly normal, inside and out. There's no fancy RGB lighting glowing out of the underside or the rear, and the specs won't be breaking any display performance records. However, HyperX is trying to differentiate these models in a very crowded market by including a desk mount and ergonomic arm out of the box. Instead of a traditional monitor stand, which usually takes up additional space, the Armada 25 and Armada 27 can be snapped onto the provided desk mount, which supports c-clamp and grommet brackets. It also has a quick-release system to add or remove screens with a single button press. The gaming mount is compatible with displays of up to 32-inches in size and 20 lbs (~9 kg) in weight. It will also be sold separately for $109.99 and can support up to 4 x 25-inch displays or dual 27-inch screens. Meanwhile, an extra mount add-on/monitor arm will cost $79.99. In terms of specs, the Armada 25 features a superfast 240Hz 1080p IPS panel, whereas the bigger Armada 27 has a 1440p screen with a lower (but still fairly quick) 165Hz refresh rate. Both monitors have a 16:9 aspect ratio, 178-degree viewing angles, and a mediocre 400 nits of peak brightness that's helped by a matte surface coating for clearer viewing. 12. Google got back to us and clarified the questions we had. For starters, the new snippets are available on Android, iOS, and desktop. They’re currently a work in progress and Google will continue to improve upon them, according to a company representative. The About This changes are split into two. About This Result is on mobile devices and desktop with plans to expand language support which will include German and Dutch. About This Page is exclusive to iOS right now with Android support coming soon. This feature is also coming to French, Italian, and Spanish users across the world, but no concrete date has been given. And finally, the content advisories are confirmed to be on mobile and desktop as well, but in English only. The notices are also landlocked to five countries: the US, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. It’s unknown if and when these advisories will roll out elsewhere.Google is updating its search engine to cut down on misleading snippets and improve the ways it educates people by adding more contextual information. Put another way, Google's expanding its efforts to stamp out misinformation across its formidable search service. Snippets are the text you see highlighted at the top of a Search results page and are meant to provide a quick answer. While sources are included to back up the information, it appears there were instances of snippets giving a source that goes against the common scientific consensus. In what is arguably the biggest change in the update(opens in new tab), featured snippets will have information that’s based on “multiple high-quality sources.” The improved snippets will be backed up by a Google AI called the Multitask United Model (MUM). The AI will actively check featured snippets and cross-reference that information against other sources to see if they all agree or if changes are necessary. Google claims this “technique has meaningfully improved the quality and helpfulness…” of featured snippets. Omitting misinformation MUM will also help fight misleading information by not displaying snippets for questions that don’t have an answer or are considered to be a "false premise." Google offers the strange scenario of a user searching for the day Snoopy from Peanuts assassinated President Abraham Lincoln. That never happened, so it’s impossible to inform the user accurately and may result in a misleading snippet or give the wrong impression. The company admits situations of Search creating misleading snippets are rare, but they do happen. It wants to preemptively combat this situation. Google claims snippets based on these “false premises” have already dropped 40 percent as part of the update.Other changes to Google Search affect the About This page and content advisories. About This will now inform you how widespread a source is, reviews about the source, whether or not it’s owned by a parent company, and if there is any missing information. Google states all this is important to provide proper context. The Search feature is also getting support in eight other languages which all launch later this year. Language support includes Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, and Indonesian. Content advisories are being expanded beyond developing news stories to include results that have questionable quality and sources. The announcement clarifies by stating this doesn’t mean good information isn’t out there for a particular search query or it was bad. It’s merely a reminder to be more skeptical of the things you find on that page. A release date for the updates hasn’t been revealed, but it may be rolling out soon. When we checked Google on desktop and mobile, we didn’t see any differences: no new content advisories or About This page. We asked Google when people can expect the changes. This story will be updated if we get a response. Google has been hard at work combating misinformation on its search engine. In a recent Q&A, the company’s Public Liaison for Search revealed Google Search has dropped the number of irrelevant results by more than 50 percent. And recently, the tech giant revealed it's making some big changes to the Google Play Store to get rid of annoying ads and impersonators.Cesar Cadenas has been writing about the tech industry for several years now specializing in consumer electronics, entertainment devices, Windows, and the gaming industry. But he’s also passionate about smartphones, GPUs, and cybersecurity. Source:https://www.techradar.com/news/google-search-is-fixing-snippets-to-protect-you-from-misinformation

  15. Just a couple of years ago, getting headphones similar to Apple's AirPods for less than 100 euros was practically a utopia. But now things have changed a lot. The different Asian manufacturers launch very cheap models that offer features that are not bad at all, and one example of these is the new OPPO Enco Buds 2. You will find everything that is basic in helmets of this type in those that the Asian company has just presented globally (before they arrived in Malaysia, and it was thought that they would only stay there, something that is not going to happen for joy of some). An example of what we say is that this is a model that includes IPX4 water resistance and does not lack options such as integrating a microphone to use them as hands-free. An adequate sound, and that stands out for being a cheap model. The driver that is included in each of the headphones is 10 millimeters and is made of titanium, which combines well with a frequency that goes from 20 to 20,000 Hz. This, together with the use of Enco Live technology that improves the stereo effects, makes enjoying music or game effects something that is achieved with quite acceptable quality. In addition, it should be noted that this device includes touch gestures to control playback, which increases the comfort of use. It is important to mention that the OPPO Enco Buds 2 do not include active noise cancellation, which is logical considering their price (which we will indicate later). If what has a passive, something that is achieved, among other things, through the use of different silicone tips so that this accessory fits perfectly in the ear. Obviously, no cable is needed to connect this accessory with sound sources, since it is compatible with Bluetooth 5.2. 16. Today and, probably, in the coming years, Microsoft Office is and will continue to be the most complete office suite on the market, no matter who you are. As the years have gone by, the applications that are part of Office have been linked to work practically hand in hand, just like the most recent Microsoft applications, such as Teams or To Do without going any further. One of the fruits of this integration is found in the possibility of linking Excel tables in Word. Word allows you to add Excel tables, tables that, when updating the data, automatically transfer the updated information to the Word document where the table is located. This function is ideal when we are preparing a job or project and we do not want to manually modify the table data every time a value is updated. Add linked tables from Excel to Word Not only can we link data from other applications that are also part of Office, but we can also link photos to reduce the final size of the documents, an especially useful function when the file in question includes a large number of content of this type. When linking the data, they have to be stored together in the same directory, otherwise the file that needs to access it won't find it and therefore won't be able to display it. Once we have clear the basic concepts of how linking works in Office, we are going to explain how we can add linked tables from Excel to Word. The first thing we need to do is open both the Word document that includes the document and the spreadsheet where the table is located. Next, we select the Excel table that we want to add to the Word document. To do so, we just have to click on the first cell on the left that contains the data and drag the mouse to the last cell on the right and copy the content to the clipboard. Next, we go to the Word document where we want to display the linked data. We place the cursor in the position where we want to include the table and click on the Paste special button. In the box that appears, click Paste Link, and then click Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object. Just above it, the name of the file will be displayed, along with the name of the sheet where the data is and the cells that are part of the table. If the table does not fit correctly in the size of the page, we can click on one of the corners and modify the size until it fits perfectly in the width of the page. Once we have linked the Excel table to the Word document, we save both documents and keep them in the same directory. If we change the location of the Excel data source, we need to re-create the link, otherwise the data we change won't be updated because Word won't be able to find the source. 17. The war between Intel and AMD will intensify in the coming months with the launch of the thirteenth generation Core processors and the Ryzen 7000. However, Lisa Su's company is preparing a vitaminized version of its next processors. Which will combine the V-Cache with the Zen 4 architecture. Well, we can finally know the performance that the future Ryzen 7000 3D could have, as well as its potential launch date. AMD's V-Cache technology expands the capacity of the processor's last-level cache by placing an SRAM memory chip on top of the processor and vertically interconnecting with the chips that contain the processor's cores and cache. Doing this helps improve processor performance by increasing the chances of data being inside the processor and therefore reducing data access time. The consequences of it? A considerable improvement in the performance of the processor, since the instructions take less time to execute and consequently the programs run faster. 30% additional performance on Ryzen 7000 3D with V-Cache The best AMD processor today, in terms of power per core, is the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, the reason for this is the inclusion of V-Cache that increases its performance by an average of 15% over the original version of the processor. This brings the performance of said processor closer to that of the future Ryzen 7000 with Zen 4 architecture. Well, we know from a roadmap from Lisa Su's own company that we are going to see the same play repeated with the Ryzen 7000 3D. The question is though, will we see a performance boost of the same caliber? At the moment the few leaks speak of an improved V-Cache, which will continue to be manufactured under TSMC's 7nm node, but will allow higher clock speeds. All this in performance will result in an improvement of 30% over conventional models. To all this we must add that in the list of Ryzen 7000 processors the 7800X has not been seen, but the 7700X. Is AMD reserving for its version with vertical cache? Who knows. As for the launch date, do not expect it before April 2023. In any case, we are eager to see which brand will be the winner when it comes to performance. Since the one that gets the best results in the different games will be the one that will get all the attention of a market as demanding as PC gaming. AMD and ASUS will implement the Dynamic OC Switcher And to finish and totally changing the third, AMD socket AM5 motherboards will incorporate certain improvements in overclocking. This yes, for the moment we will only see this on some ASUS motherboards and we cannot guarantee that it will appear on those of other brands, but since it is a functionality implemented from the chipset it is possible that its adoption will be majority . Although, on the other hand, we do not believe that we will see them in cheap models, since it is a functionality that games will benefit from above all. What does it consist of? Well, in the ability to turn off the processor's multithreading to raise the clock speed of each core. Bear in mind that the vast majority of games today do not manage to take advantage of more than 8 threads of the processor and, therefore, many of them are theoretically left unoccupied without doing anything. And with this we are increasing the power available per process. So in games that already have some experience or that require few cores, they will see an improvement, especially those of Electronic Sports. Which has been baptized by ASUS and AMD as Dynamic OC Switcher. Source:https://hardzone.es/noticias/procesadores/amd-ryzen-7000-3d-rendimiento-precio/
  18. If you recall, I penned an article late last month about switching from Spectrum to T-Mobile Home Internet. The reasons were simple: T-Mobile promised faster speeds, a lower price, no contracts, and many freebies for new signups. After installing the 5G Gateway in my home, everything appeared to go exactly as prescribed by T-Mobile. However, as soon as I discovered, T-Mobile Home Internet ultimately decided to be a disaster for me, forcing me to come crawling back to Spectrum. But before we get to what made me cancel T-Mobile Home Internet(opens in new tab), let's discuss the positives. What I liked about T-Mobile Home Internet For the two weeks I had the service, I routinely saw peak downloads of 500+ Mbps and uploads of 70+ Mbps. The download speeds were roughly 100 Mbps higher than my Spectrum internet service, while the uploads were three times faster. I achieved this performance even though my signal “only” bounced between three to four bars (out of five). Sponsored Links My service was rock solid during those two weeks, with no dropouts. I had consistent performance around the clock. Peak speeds dipped slightly during the evening hours, but downloads were still comparable to Spectrum, while uploads were still double. This was an impressive performance considering we're talking about a wireless 4G LTE/5G connection. 19. FINCAD is a Canadian financial services company that manufactures software designed to value financial derivatives. To serve its clients — banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, and other investment firms — you need to access and analyze multiple data streams quickly, securely, and accurately. The company's evaluation system was a legacy web application with a traditional database, application server, and web server, located in a data center and operated by FINCAD employees. The company sought ways to modernize, improve performance, and end reliance on an internal data center, and turned to Onica, a Rackspace company, for a solution. Data management - the storage, security, and accessibility of information - is perhaps the financial services industry's single highest priority. The mainstream adoption of digital banking has led to a massive influx of consumer data, with 57% of consumers saying they now prefer online banking over traditional branch banking. Today's financial institutions require secure and robust solutions that allow easy access for trusted users, and they also have a redundancy in place that ensures easy data recovery in emergency situations. Meanwhile, new compliance standards and regulations, ever-changing consumer behavior, massive amounts of data, and the proliferation of cybercrime are all forcing financial institutions to pursue data security and storage solutions. What to know about storing financial data in the cloud Data protection is a vital concern of the financial sector. Verizon's 2022 Data Breach Investigation Report cited more than 2,500 such incidents for financial firms, with confirmed data disclosed in 690 cases. About three-quarters of them were external attacks, and 95 percent were seeking financial data. These violations have far-reaching consequences, both legal and financial. The average cost of a data breach in 2022 was nearly $4.35 million, up from $3.86 million in 2020, IBM's cybersecurity group reported. The US was identified as the country paying the highest total cost per data breach. This is partly because attackers have plenty of time to identify and collect data: the average time to identify and contain a data breach is 280 days Source:https://www.techadvisor.com/nativeprx_t=c8oHAakRXAWNsRA&ntv_acpl=1170264&ntv_acsc=0&ntv_gsscm=798*17;623*19;815*14;&ntv_ht=8UIGYwA
  20. Telegram could soon offer a marketplace to auction addresses, founder Pavel Durov said. In a post on his personal Telegram channel, which has 651,000 subscribers, Durov suggested that millions of reserved Telegram addresses could be auctioned as assets on the blockchain. Durov wrote that he was inspired by The Open Network (TON)'s recent sale of over 2,000 '.ton' domain names — a sale which totaled 2,392,002 Toncoin, each of which trades for $1.33 (roughly Rs. 100) at the time of writing, netting approximately $3 million (roughly Rs. 24 crore). “Imagine how successful Telegram with its 700 million users could be if we put reserved @ usernames, group and channel links for auction,” he said. Durov suggested that Telegram could tap into similar technology to roll out a new marketplace that could be used to buy and sell "catchy t.me addresses like @storm or @royal, and all four-letter user names:" Ex-OpenSea Exec Asks US Court to Dismiss Insider Trading Charges "This would create a new platform where username holders could transfer them to interested parties in protected deals — with ownership secured on the blockchain via NFT-like smart contracts. Other elements of the Telegram ecosystem, including channels, stickers or emoji, could later also become part of this marketplace," he added. Although TON was originally designed by Telegram, control of the blockchain was handed over to The Open Network community in June 2020. The firm was forced to forfeit ownership as part of a settlement deal with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which filed a complaint against Telegram for allegedly conducting an unregistered securities sale for $1.7 billion in the form of GRAM tokens. That said, Telegram is still closely involved with the TON blockchain. The messaging platform now lets users directly exchange Toncoin through bots that automate activities on the platform. Though Telegram allows these bots, it doesn't necessarily endorse them. PayPal Joins Coinbase-Led TRUST Network to Stay on Top of Compliance The first auctions on TON DNS went live on July 30, and much like the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) ".eth" domains, the ".ton" variant allows users to access decentralised applications in a simple way without needing to type a long string of letters and numbers from their wallet addresses.Do the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 offer enough over last year's models?
