  1. The Ministry of Education (Minedu) has so far received 82,615 requests to transfer parents who want to change their children from a private school to a public one, José Carlos Vera, general director of Decentralized Management in the sector, reported today. In an interview with América Noticias, he specified that Lima concentrates the largest number of transfer requests. Then follows Callao and the regions of Cusco, Lambayeque and Piura, among others. He added that they are organizing while they receive the information through a web platform Registration 2020. “As of today there are 82,615 requests at the national level for the transfer from private to public schools. It is important to know that in Metropolitan Lima it concentrates 60% or a little more. They are 50,800 what corresponds to Lima. This topic is also concentrated in the main cities of the country: Callao, Cusco, Lambayeque and Piura are the ones that follow, but to a lesser extent, "he explained. Vera indicated that the Minedu has been projected with an estimate of receiving approximately more than 350 thousand transfer requests. He assured that the sector will attend to all the orders that are processed through the web platform; However, he clarified that they are preparing a report of available vacancies in order to meet the demand. "We had raised several projection scenarios between 120,000 to 350,000 or a little more in more aggressive scenarios and that is why, in parallel with this demand, we are making a vacancy survey available nationwide with the directors. Now they have to send a report on this current information so that by May 22, the registration of applications, we can also have the number of vacancies that we have. 100% of enrollment applications will be attended, ”he said. Likewise, he maintained that the Ministry of Education is also working with projections towards 2021. The official mentioned that when executing the transfer there will be more students in the public offering for the next school year. Given this, he said that before focusing on a new infrastructure, virtual classrooms and the extension of school hours to the afternoon shift are being considered. “The analyzes indicate that we are going to have a contingent of vacancies to offer, and if there were no physicists with folders, what arises are virtual classrooms, since this year the service is being provided in person through Aprendo en casa. In addition, assign additional teachers to accompany. The sector is preparing for this demand and for next year because it is to measure the costs for more teachers, educational resources, food to distribute, among others, "he added. "Before thinking of new classrooms, it is to know the panorama and you could expand the double shifts as in the afternoon with more teachers who cover that time and then think of new infrastructure spaces," he insisted.

  2. Game Informations : Developer: Ron Dulin Platforms: PC Initial release date: March 24, 2000 at 12:00AM PST Like Thief: The Dark Project, Thief II: The Metal Age uses the mechanics of a first-person shooter to make a game that's more about inaction than action. You won't find yourself running through hallways shooting everything that moves. Instead, you'll find yourself hiding in alcoves, listening intently for the slightest indication that you've been detected. The sneaking premise of Thief was only one of its best features; the game's excellent story and generally good mission design helped to make it one of 1998's best games. And in some ways, Thief II is even better. The mission design is more consistent, and some of the missions are among the best in any action game to date. But the story is a bit disappointing compared with the complex plot of Thief, and the game itself lacks the surprises of the original. Yet if Thief II has a real shortcoming, it's that the game is too similar to Thief. But that similarity isn't necessarily a problem, considering how good Thief was. It's clear that Thief II was put together with the intent of getting the game done as quickly as possible. That's not to say the game was rushed or is incomplete, but only that it reuses a number of Thief's elements. For instance, certain parts of the game's structure are almost entirely the same, from the mission-briefing screens to the "mission complete" and "mission failed" movies. But the quality of Thief II's mission design more than compensates for this recycling. A few of the missions borrow heavily from Thief, and a few are predictable. There are some moments in Thief II when you'll see potential twists in the mission from the very beginning if you're familiar with Thief. But otherwise, the mission design is superb: The designers have gone to great lengths to emphasize the thieving element of gameplay, so you'll spend less time searching through monster-infested caverns and more time in high-security buildings. You'll rob banks, burglarize storage warehouses, infiltrate secured mansions filled with secret passages, and even sneak around high-society parties. Thief II's 16 missions are longer and more involving than the first game's, and the locations are often enormous, but unfortunately, the accompanying loading times are longer as a result. In the game's best mission, Life of the Party, you must sneak across the rooftops of a city, break into a high-security building, gather information and loot, and then sneak back across the city again. The mission is filled with funny moments, and you'll overhear all manner of conversations during the course of the heist, such as two sets of guards shouting insults across the rooftops about one another's employers. Looking Glass has done a remarkable job of making the city seem alive, as almost every mission contains conversations to eavesdrop on and people going about their business who are unaware of your presence. The only element that slightly weakens the otherwise excellent ambiance is the occasionally poor voice acting. The highly detailed missions are likely what make Thief II's story seem weak in comparison with the original's. In the first Thief, the missions served the story. But the opposite is true of the sequel. The hero Garrett is once more called upon to put an end to a great evil, and he once again seems reluctant to do so. With the exception of the epilogue, Garrett does little but remain his roguish, wisecracking self the entire time. Garrett's an interesting character, and it's a shame that Thief II doesn't do more to develop him. Despite Garrett's desire to be an independent rogue, his seemingly self-serving actions usually end up working for the greater good. Thief II's epilogue, which seems disappointingly abrupt in comparison with Thief's excellent ending, at least hints at an interesting development for Garrett in the next game.As in Thief, the sequel takes place in a city occupied by mysterious guilds. The original told of the pagans' attempt to overthrow the Order of the Hammer, a group that worships industry and its deity, the Builder. In Thief II, the Order of the Hammer has been reduced to but a few loyal followers. The Mechanists have risen in its place, and they're a more fanatical order that also worships the Builder but believes that machines are his tools rather than man's industry. The Mechanists' rise to power was referred to in the epilogue of Thief, when one of the Keepers told the hero Garrett to "beware the dawn of the metal age." Thief II's story is surprisingly linear. Thief was filled with twists, but Thief II's story seems more like a James Bond plot: The villain simply has a plan, albeit a very strange plan, to take over the world. It's unfortunate that the game has a different focus than the original, which introduced a fascinating world but didn't fully explain it. Thief II should have provided more information on its world, its society, and its history. Thief II does succeed in taking a great premise and making a good game of it. You get to use a number of interesting thieving tools in environments in which they're all useful. There are very few moments in Thief II where there's a single correct path to take, and the beauty of the mission design is that it's left to your ingenuity to use the tools provided to overcome the obstacles in your path. Do you shoot out the torches and sneak down a hallway? Or should you use a rope arrow to hoist yourself up to the rafters and ambush the guards from above? It's a testament to the quality of the design that when you complete a mission in Thief II, you'll actually feel as if you've accomplished something and not just executed a series of predetermined tasks. The completely new elements of Thief II are primarily some new enemies and a few new tools. The new enemies mostly consist of the "Builder's children," which are robotic servants of the Mechanists. There's also a terrifying new monster, which is strangely underused in the game. Garrett's new tools aren't that useful, but they do come in handy on occasion. He now has vine arrows, which are a slight variation on the original game's rope arrows; a scouting orb that lets him see in heavily guarded areas; and a mechanical eye (which replaces the eye he lost in the original) that can zoom in on areas. The fact that there's not much new in Thief II is a minor complaint. At first, Thief II may seem too much like Thief, but on closer inspection it's a better game. It may lack its predecessor's excellent story, and the graphics engine may be slightly dated, but no such concerns will seem relevant when you're sneaking around in Thief II's excellent environments. system requirements (minimum) Memory:1 GB Graphics Card:NVIDIA GeForce 6200 CPU:Intel Pentium 4 2.00GHz Thief II: The Metal Age File Size:2 GB OS:Windows XP or Windows Vista

  4. The next major Windows 10 update is set to mean big changes for PC makers concerning the versions of software they can offer. Windows 10 May 2020 Update, which is due late in May, will drop support for the 32-bit version of the operating system on the OEM side. In other words, as of the next big update, hardware manufacturers will no longer be offered 32-bit versions of Windows 10 to install on their devices, and any PC made going forward will have a 64-bit installation. Microsoft reveals another reason not to download movies illegally How to work smarter from home with Windows 10 We solve 100 common Windows 10 problems This isn’t a great surprise, really, and pretty much an expected move from Microsoft. If you look at the number of folks out there actually running Windows 10 32-bit, it’s an extremely small percentage (one fifth of a percent, looking at the most recent Steam hardware survey as an example). And the number of new PCs running a 32-bit version is doubtless even smaller… Related Videos video en cursoY Brush can clean your teeth in 10 seconds | TechRadar at CES 2020 Hands-on with the SAMSUNG GALAXY... 06/01/20Hands-on with the SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 10 LITE | TechRadar at CES 2020 Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020 in 10... 11/02/20 Smartphones we are most looking forward to in... 07/02/20 GoPro Max hands-on and developer interview |... 28/01/20 Samsung shows us the world's thinnest... 25/01/20 Don’t panic That said, before those with old PCs, or folks who are running the 32-bit spin on Windows 10 for legacy reasons, start to panic, Microsoft will still continue to support existing 32-bit installations of the operating system going forward. Microsoft clarified: “This does not impact 32-bit customer systems that are manufactured with earlier versions of Windows 10; Microsoft remains committed to providing feature and security updates on these devices, including continued 32-bit media availability in non-OEM channels to support various upgrade installation scenarios.” However, with Windows 10 32-bit being phased out as of the May 2020 Update, it’s clearly on the path to complete extinction now. And as to how long Microsoft feels it’s viable to continue providing updates for existing 32-bit systems, that’s an unknown factor – we’ll just have to see. But as we’ve already mentioned, the percentage of users out there is already vanishingly tiny, and at some point, a decision might be made about the use of resources in continuing that support. Of course, Windows 10 32-bit is hamstrung in various ways, not least of which is the ability to only support 4GB of system RAM. Windows 10 May 2020 Update is expected to emerge on May 28, or possibly a day or two before, according to the most recent leaks and rumors we’ve seen – and it would appear to still be on track to meet that purported schedule.

  5. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., known colloquially as TSMC, is expected to announce plans to build a new Arizona factory later this week, according to the Wall Street Journal. That would bring the world’s largest independent chipmaker stateside, potentially drastically increasing the speed with which American companies could produce new devices. Speaking to unnamed “people familiar with the matter,” the Wall Street Journal says TSMC made the decision during a board meeting on Tuesday in Taiwan, and is likely to officially reveal the plans as soon as Friday. This follows news from earlier this March that the U.S. is planning to block TSMC from shipping to Chinese tech company Huawei, which may have informed the decision to open an American factory. According to one of the Journal's sources, “The State and Commerce Departments are involved in the plans,” which could lend credence to this theory. The extreme wait times to ship parts from Asia to the US during the coronavirus pandemic might also have influenced the decision, as well as a general worry about American dependence on Asian technology (both for economic and security reasons) that has plagued the manufacturer as early as January. “TSMC’s new plant would make chips branded as having 5-nanometer transistors,” the Wall Street Journal writes, referring to another unnamed source. This would put the new factory on par with TSMC’s Taiwan operations, which only recently started producing 5nm chips. The Wall Street Journal doesn’t yet know whether TSMC made the decision under the promise of US financial incentives, or what the company’s budget for the new factory is. It does state, however, that “The factory could be producing chips by the end of 2023 at the earliest,” according to one of its sources. This news also contradicts a Digitimes report from earlier this week that, despite pressure from the Trump administration, TSMC would not be opening up any American factories anytime soon. “We shouldn’t have supply chains,” President Trump said on Fox Business last Thursday, during a discussion about how the pandemic is affecting production. “We should have them all in the US.” Whether this points to a cheapening of American labor in the face of unprecedented unemployment, a new approach to international business following the pandemic, or even an attempt from TSMC to strengthen American relations and perhaps get the Huawei block removed, we can’t say for certain. What we do know is that, right now, the only American chipmakers who can produce transistors 10nm or smaller work for Intel, and Intel's fabs primarily focus on proprietary Intel products. A stateside TSMC factory would provide more immediate access to cutting-edge silicon fabrication tech for Intel's competitors like AMD, as well as general tech like Nvidia, Qualcomm and TSMC’s largest client, Apple.

  6. In the face of the pandemic due to the new coronavirus COVID-19, the Government has taken strict measures such as social immobilization, compulsory isolation, the use of masks, the minimum distance of one meter, among other regulations, to prevent the spread of the virus. All Peruvians are supporting the rules to get out of this situation successfully: some from home and others from their work centers in companies that cover basic needs. The health sector is one of the ones that works the most since the pandemic reached Peru. Thousands of hospitals around the country are constantly working to attend to emergency cases and, above all, those involving patients suffering from COVID-19. One of the most important points in this case involves transportation, both for medical personnel and to mobilize the necessary material in hospitals. Given this need, Maquinarias S.A., a Peruvian company with more than 65 years in the automotive sector, has delivered Pick Ups units at the disposal of the Ministry of Health (MINSA), in order to support the fight against the virus. “During all these years, Peru has provided us with great opportunities and, in turn, set ourselves great challenges, without which Machinery would not be what it is today. It is now when we have to collaborate with Peru, ”says its director. Thanks to this action, the health sector will be able to continue with its work of caring for the sick and prevention in a more complete way. "We have gone through very hard times as Peruvians and as a company, but this is nothing more than a challenge that together we will manage to overcome as we have always done, this will not stop us," he adds.

  7. The plenary session of the Congress of the Republic debated this Thursday the law that formalizes the service of "collective taxis" throughout Peru for more than four hours and decided to approve it by 115 votes in favor, 4 against and 10 abstentions. During the debate, Congressman Daniel Olivares said he was in favor of formalizing the service, since otherwise the service will continue to exist. However, he was against the bill because it "backfires the transportation reform in the country." He specified that it should be limited "to places where formal transportation does not arrive." For his part, Paul García (Acción Po[CENSORED]r) was in favor of excluding Lima and Callao in the law, since "it could generate more vehicular traffic than already exists." Likewise, the spokesman for Podemos Peru, Daniel Urresti, considered that this is "the first great mistake of Congress" and said he did not understand the legislators who support this initiative, since "they will only generate chaos in the country's great cities." “There are thousands who will benefit, but it must be only those who have no other option. What do they want here in Lima? What are we going against the transport reform ?. Large cities should not be included. Do you want to create chaos in big cities? Is that what they want? ”He asked. The legislator Guillermo Aliaga (We are Peru) had a different position, who indicated that the drivers who provide this service “deserve the support of Parliament” that must be translated by “formalizing them” so that they operate within the law. In this line, Carlos Enrique Fernández Chacón (Frente Amplio) also manifested himself, who said he was in favor of formalizing the “collective taxis” and confessed that he is a regular user of this informal service “on Avenida Arequipa to reach downtown Lima from Miraflores ”. "I use the collective taxi to go to Miraflores, along the entire Arequipa avenue. I'm sitting down, ”he said. After the debate, the plenary decided to move to an intermediate room to exclude Lima and Callao from the scope of this legislative initiative, due to the damage it could generate in the transportation reform carried out by the ATU. Prior to the debate, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Carlos Lozada, said that "collective taxis" are against the transport reform that the MTC has been promoting, in addition to being a service that increases the risk of contagion from COVID-19 . "Due to health issues (collective taxis) they would also not provide the guarantees of being able to control the spread of the virus through these vehicles," Lozada said at a press conference. He explained that the transport reform in Peru aims to implement a macro-transportation system with units that allow more passengers to be mobilized.

  8. Game Informations : Developer: Ike Sato Platforms: PC Initial release date: December 10, 1999 at 12:10PM PST Once titled - more accurately - Castlevania: Special Edition, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness is what Konami's first Nintendo 64 Castlevania title was meant to be when it was released early this year. Everything from Castlevania 64 is present here in an enhanced director's cut version, which contains improved graphics, sound, and two extra scenarios featuring the new characters, Cornell the werewolf and the young warrior Henry. Like the original, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness isn't very similar to Symphony of the Night on the PlayStation but is a hard-core version of the early titles in the series set in 3D. Taking place eight years before the first N64 game, C:LOD begins with Cornell journeying to Transylvania after his friend Ortega had betrayed him, allowing Cornell's sister Ada to be abducted by Count Dracula. Now it's up to you to rescue her, or die trying. Instead of letting you play as any of the four characters from the start, C:LOD forces you to finish the game as Cornell before you can unlock the remaining three. As Cornell, you play through a mix of all-new levels and levels from the original that now carry different objectives. Cornell uses a sonic-boom-like punch as his primary weapon, and for close combat, he can use his claws to slash enemies. The weapons are pretty much the same as those found throughout the series: axes, daggers, crosses, holy water, and so on. Cornell himself is a little bit tougher to maneuver than Reinhardt or Carrie, because his lock-on is not as precise as theirs, and his attack is a bit slow. You'll end up facing in one direction for a few seconds while enemies attack you from behind and from the side. Cornell has the ability to morph into werewolf form, which makes his attacks and defenses stronger, but, disappointingly, there are no additional special moves. This new scenario is a lot of fun to explore, although, admittedly, it does seem to drag at points.Playing through Reinhardt's and Carrie's scenarios in the director's cut version isn't nearly as fresh an experience as playing as Cornell, but hard-core fans of the series will nevertheless enjoy playing through these now-more-difficult scenarios, with their new levels and bosses. Henry's mission is the shortest and least interesting of them all, requiring you to rescue seven children within six days. The graphics found in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness are a mixed bag. The game looks much more impressive with the use of the N64 Expansion Pak, but even with the Expansion Pak the frame rate is still very jittery, making it almost unplayable. Without the Expansion Pak, the game looks slightly better than the original. A few touchups have been made to the backgrounds, such as added textures to the walls and added details to the flowers in the gardens. Although it may downgrade the resolution, playing without the Expansion Pak makes the game run much smoother. It's a shame that Konami couldn't use the pak more effectively. Many complained about the lack of music in the original, but Legacy of Darkness contains a nice assortment of new tracks and remixes of classic Castlevania tunes. Other additions include the introduction of cinematics and the option to switch the camera into several different modes. Cornell's intro sequence isn't FMV but an in-game engine cinematic, the likes of which was missing in the original. It's not quite up to what Konami accomplished in Metal Gear Solid, of course, but it's entertaining, and it adds a little flavor to the character. You can now also change the game camera between three different perspectives. But there isn't one view that works well for every situation, and you have to keep switching between them to find the best view of the current action. For example, setting the camera to boss mode will place it so far back that your view is often blocked by a wall in areas inside the castle. Complaints aside, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness is exactly what it sets out to be: a better version of the original. If you loved the first one, there's enough added value to justify picking this game up, even though it feels a little dated now, and its price is pretty steep. But if you're one of those people who felt that Castlevania should've never made the jump into 3D, Legacy of Darkness will do only a little more than the original in convincing you otherwise. System requirements: PC compatible Operating systems: Windows 10/Windows 8/Windows 7/2000/Vista/WinXP

  10. Facebook Marketplace is one of the biggest second-hand buying and selling platforms in the world. But its efforts to slow the spread of coronavirus pale in comparison to those of rival apps. On March 24, one in five people worldwide were in some form of lockdown, with many people only able to go out to pick up essentials (food and medicine), or to get some exercise. Things remain largely unchanged. “Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.” That’s the message U.K. citizens are hearing over and over again. Popping to someone’s house to pick up a second-hand this or that probably isn’t a great idea right now. However, a host of Facebook Marketplace users in the U.K. told CNBC that they were still completing face-to-face transactions over the platform. Some of them said they’re taking their own precautions by wearing masks and gloves, but not all. The company has said that users should follow government advice and it was monitoring the situation. CNBC spoke to people selling an £8 ($10) hat from Gap, a £10 indoor palm tree, a £360 Nintendo Switch, some £25 Bose headphones, an £80 golf bag. Items that could all carry the virus. There’s a plethora of items on the platform and sellers say they’re getting more offers than normal, probably because people have more time to trawl through listings. “I recently moved house so have extra plants and gardening tools to sell,” one Facebook Marketplace seller said. “People are showing interest for these as they are currently gardening. But it is also that spring is here.” Gumtree and Shpock have told their users not to visit other people’s homes. They’ve spelled it out in emails and in-app notifications. “Please don’t meet up,” Shpock wrote in the headline of an email to users on April 7. The Austrian start-up is currently subsidizing door-to-door contactless deliveries in partnership with Parcel2Go. The deliveries are completed by couriers from Hermes and Parcelforce, who have taken steps to protect their workforce by providing them with the right gear and training. “We felt that the way our marketplace was operating — with users often meeting up for personal collection — wasn’t going to be safe for our community during times of the coronavirus pandemic,” a Shpock spokesperson told CNBC. “We saw that users continued to close deals and were taking risks, so we decided to openly address the topic.” Gumtree has launched a similar contactless delivery service called Gumtree Door to Door and it’s promoting it heavily both on the website and via emails. Meanwhile, Facebook is not offering a contactless delivery service. Instead, it’s telling users that a number of delivery services exist. Going offline Freecycle, a non-profit that allows people to offer up items for free, has suspended its service in some areas. For example, the Southwark Freecycle group in London, England, is currently not in operation. Meanwhile, Facebook Marketplace hasn’t gone as far as to tell U.K. users not to meet up, despite there being a lockdown in place. A banner at the top of the Marketplace encourages users to follow local guidelines on staying at home, but it doesn’t explicitly rule out in-person transactions. “We suggest following guidelines from the U.K. government,” the banner reads. A Facebook spokesperson told CNBC that it has teams of people monitoring the Covid-19 situation. “We’re continually exploring more ways to keep our community safe and informed,” they said. “We’re also taking steps to prevent people exploiting this crisis for financial gain, and have temporarily banned listings on Marketplace for medical face masks, hand sanitizers, surface disinfecting wipes, and COVID-19 testing kits.”

  11. The legendary Igor Wallosek over at Igor's Lab has done it again. Apparently upset by those unauthenticated userbench leaks that happened a few days ago, he took matters into his own hands and leaked the complete spec sheet for AMD Renoir Desktop APUs, which are likely going to be part of the Ryzen 4000 series. AMD's Renoir APUs will offer an incredibly powerful Zen 2 CPU core coupled with a highly capable Vega iGPU that will allow any customer to play games on reasonable settings (1080p) without purchasing any dedicated graphics card. You can also check out Igor's youtube video on the leak here. Igor Leaks: AMD Renoir desktop APU OPNs along with specifications, 65W and 35W versions across 12 different listings In what appears to be an absolutely mammoth of an APU, The AMD Renoir Ryzen 4000 desktop flagship will feature 16 threads and a massive 512 shader count. There was a time when this number was only found on the highest-end GPU, but now gamers on a budget can find it inside an AMD APU. Clocked at 1.75 GHz, this particular iGPU is capable of outputting a solid 1.8 TFLOPs of graphics horsepower - the same as a PS4! The TDP is a mere 65Ws too, which is absolutely insane considering the amount of power packed on the tiny chip - courtesy of 7nm of course Up to 12 OPNs were leaked in this listing although it's worth adding that this is an OEM spec sheet and not all of this will end up in shops or in retail. The least powerful part has 6 CUs as well, which is roughly 384 shaders at up to 1.7 GHz for roughly 1.3 TFLOPs of power. The world of entry-level dedicated GPUs (NVIDIA's MX series, I am looking at you) is over. Competitors in this segment will either need to start offering proper entry-level dGPUs or get left behind as AMD's APU beat them in performance. PUs were insanely po[CENSORED]r back in the day and when the company made its comeback with Zen, it felt like the APU side wasn't fully caught up yet. The AMD Renoir SKUs will change of that, featuring incredibly powerful iGPUs married to an even more powerful Zen core, you have the ultimate starter machine. Considering the socket in question is the basic AM4, it makes it the perfect upgrade path for a PC gamer. [speculation] Considering what AMD is doing with its Smartshift technology, I also wouldn't be surprised to see that come to desktop sooner or later, and then this would literally become a decision with zero downsides (the iGPU would be able to work in tandem with the dGPU). [/speculation] AMD's Ryzen 4000 'Renoir' Desktop CPUs are also highly anticipated as they would create more options for users in the sub $200 US category, getting both 7nm Zen 2 cores and Vega GPU on the same package. It is also interesting given that AMD will be introducing its B550 chipset which would lower the cost of the PCIe 4.0 AM4 platform. AEarlier, we have seen the performance of a purported desktop Ryzen 4000 'Renoir' CPU which posted numbers close to a Ryzen 7 4700U 8 Core chip despite featuring lower cores and early clock speeds

The President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, reported that, until this Wednesday, May 13, a total of 76,306 people infected with COVID-19 have been registered in Peru, representing an increase of 4,247 cases compared to the previous day. This figure represents the maximum number of infections during a single day in the development of the coronavirus pandemic in our country, since previously the other peaks were on May 5, when 3,815 infections were reported; on May 7 (3,709 infections); and on April 25 (2,683 infections). In addition, this Wednesday, May 13, the "peak" of the number of deaths in 24 hours was also reached, since 112 deaths were registered. On April 30 the figure reached 108 deaths and on May 9 there were 100 deaths from COVID-19. Currently, the total death toll stands at 2,169. President Martín Vizcarra also detailed that to date there are 6,979 patients hospitalized for COVID-19, of which 806 are in the intensive care unit. Likewise, another 24,324 patients were discharged after having overcome the coronavirus. During the conference on Wednesday, the head of state assured that Peru reached the top of the pandemic and that a slow decline will begin. On May 8, the president announced the extension of the national state of emergency for two more weeks, that is, until Sunday, May 24.

  13. Game Informations : Developer: Steve Smith Platforms: PC Initial release date: April 12, 2000 at 1:33PM PDT A "challenging and exciting CD-ROM game from COREL"?! You mean the WordPerfect and clip-art people are trying to frag it out with the likes of Duke and Quake? What are they going to use, you may well ask, templates and macros? Well, not quite, but Ashes to Ashes, their unimaginative though entertaining knock-off in the first-person shooter genre, is not going to scare anybody at id quite yet. Still, this game's use of exterior settings, 3-D terrain, and multiple vehicle types makes it refreshing enough to hunt down when it hits the bargain shelves - in...oh, say, about three weeks. In the 22nd century, international conflicts are settled by professional warriors who blast it out in spacious outdoor arenas throughout the world. Something has gone awry: Soldiers are exhibiting unpredictable behavior, world peace is threatened, and you are the lone gunman who is airlifted into these arenas to exterminate the mercenaries. Eight different arenas, from desert to bayou to lunar terrain, contain multiple levels (50 in all) in which your only task is KETM (kill everything that moves) until you collect three "evil brains" from enemy carcasses and advance to the next level. Even for a genre whose back stories tend to be flaccid afterthoughts (Does anyone know or care what Quake is about?), I must say that A2A's premise and level goals stand out as remarkably inane. I came upon no secret areas or puzzles, just a lot of armored robots and vehicles to pick off, power-ups and ammo to grab, blah, blah, blah. The evil brains do talk back to you with clever quips, but these grow old by the third level. And the CD-based soundtrack employs offbeat, out- of-context tunes like Conga riffs in another misfired attempt to add lightheartedness. Visual and sound effects are of the standard blast-and-burst variety - nothing especially atmospheric or immersive. Your enemies - soldiers in bioarmor and power suits, flying on cycles or in orb-shaped tanks - are equally uninspired. Ashes to Ashes could be dismissed out of hand as a thoughtless knock-off if its 3-D terrain modelling and multiple vehicles weren't so genuinely refreshing. The Win95 graphics for the ground-level, outdoor combat are not especially detailed, but they are glass-smooth and offer a good sense of open-air battle, not unlike last year's Terra Nova. The early terrain is bland and undulating, which allows for enemy soldiers to emerge from behind a hilltop quite nicely. But it is in the upper levels of valleys and mountain plateaus where the landscape adds an intriguing tactical element. Reconnaissance of enemy strongholds from behind protective terrain becomes possible, as does finding good defensive positions. Complementing the varied terrain is your ability to hijack five enemy devices like armor suits, Assault Cycles, and Roller Tanks, each with distinct weaponry and movement that are useful in different terrain situations. Cycles allow you to assault elevated structures and cross mountains, while the tanks can plod and blast through amassed soldiers. Switching among vehicles, especially as the ground contours become more complex, is a welcome change from the usual corridor march-and-shoot conventions. Alas, none of the levels is intricate enough to exploit this innovation fully. The multiple vehicles and terrain modeling of Ashes to Ashes do energize an otherwise shallow clone with variety and some depth. But at full price, and compared with other action games currently on the store shelf (if it ever makes it there), Ashes to Ashes offers too little, too late for most action gamers. The demo is worth a look, and a $20 price would make the game a reasonable buy. In the end, however, here is a perfect candidate for diminished stardom in the bargain bin. system requirements OS: Windows 7 / 8 / 10 64 bit. Processor: Intel Core i3-7350K (4.20 GHz) or better. The objective of this subsidy is to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus in recent weeks in the country. Starting next week, the Universal Bonus can be collected. This was confirmed by Javier Palacios, vice minister of Employment Promotion at RPP Noticias. The authority even revealed that the list of beneficiaries will be published the following week. "The registers must be approved between today and tomorrow. In those registers they will be able to register and the information will be crossed with Reniec, the programs of the Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Development and Inclusion and the Census to have the complete map," he explained. Who can access the 760 soles bonus? The Universal Bond is for all families that do not currently have a payroll member, including families that have already received the other bonds, such as rural, independent and 380, said Ariela Luna, the head of the Midis. 17. Game Informations : Developer: Erik Wolpaw Platforms: PC - Play station2 Initial release date: January 4, 2000 at 12:00AM PST Mucky Foot Productions' Urban Chaos is an attempt to meld a side-scrolling arcade beat-'em-up such as Double Dragon or Final Fight with a modern third-person action game. All the standard ingredients are intact: a trek across a metropolitan dystopia, baseball bats, evil gang members, scantily clad karate prostitutes, punching, and lifebars. Unfortunately, perhaps in a misguided attempt to make Urban Chaos more realistic, the developers have replaced retro-gaming's universal health power-up, the big-boned hunk of meat, with a generic medical kit. But Mucky Foot can be forgiven for this oversight, because it's one of the game's only significant missteps. Urban Chaos is a great looking and ingenious reinvention of a classic genre. Union City is a town in crisis. The end of the 20th century is approaching fast, and a gang of thugs called the Wildcats runs rampant through the streets. Worse yet, their brand of chaos seems to extend past mere delinquency to also include more sinister millennial cult activities. As rookie cop D'arci Stern, you must first prove yourself to your superiors then take on the tougher-than-their-name-implies Wildcats by uncovering their wicked plans and stopping them. Your task of defeating the Wildcats takes the form of a series of assignments that occur at various locations across a map of Union City. Often there will be more than one mission available at a given time, and specific locations within the city are generally used for more than one assignment. The several dozen missions offer a variety of unusual and engaging tasks. One early level requires you to sneak up on a suicidal man and talk him out of leaping off a building into the gawking crowd below. Another has you rescuing a hostage, who then fights alongside you as you battle your way back to safety. Although every level has one specific goal, there is generally no time limit in which you must accomplish that goal. Each area is a fully rendered 3D representation of a section of Union City that can usually be explored at your leisure before actually finishing the mission. Exploration will uncover lots of little side tasks that can be completed for skills-building bonuses. The side tasks add a huge amount of replay value, as they're often as complex and unusual as the primary goals themselves. For instance, the suicide prevention level contains a completely optional assignment wherein you help a fellow officer whose squad car has been stolen. You must interview the prostitute who witnessed the theft, then locate and retrieve the vehicle.Retrieving the vehicle means climbing into it and driving it. Along with fighting crime on foot, you are sometimes required to get behind the wheel of various vehicles. The car control is a little off and doesn't have the feel of a more fully realized city-driving game such as Driver or Midtown Madness. But it's still a nice bonus, and after chasing down and running over a fleeing thug, then jumping out of the car and slapping the cuffs on him while he's dazed on the pavement, you probably won't complain much. Regardless of their underlying objectives, most missions involve a substantial amount of action-packed hand-to-hand combat. Urban Chaos' fighting system is simple but effective. Aside from running over her enemies, D'arci can punch, kick, grapple, and wield weapons she picks up off the ground, such as baseball bats, knives, and guns. (Later in the game, a mysterious second character called Roper also becomes playable.) The developers have created an excellent system for fighting multiple opponents in three dimensions: Combat is initiated by moving within range of an enemy. At that point, a lifebar appears above his head and you are locked facing him until one of you is subdued. If other enemies are in the vicinity, they'll join the attack. A button press will cycle you to face each combatant in the area. You can also use back kicks and side kicks so that you can beat up a thug who's creeping up to blindside you. You'll need a gamepad to control all your moves effectively, and once you get used to the system, you'll find that the melee combat is fun and also deeply satisfying thanks to the excellent sound effects. Urban Chaos also does an admirable job of making you feel as if you're wandering around a living city. The texture work, architecture, and smoke and lighting effects are gorgeous. The streets are packed with innocent bystanders and moving traffic. Leaves and garbage swirl around your feet in an uncannily realistic way as you run down Union City's grimy alleyways. Standing on the roof of a tenement building and staring down at the bustling city below with the moon at your back actually makes you feel like a superhero watching over your city, and no game has yet produced this dramatic effect as well as Urban Chaos. The fact that Urban Chaos is an enjoyable third-person action game with no switch flipping, box pushing, or key finding should be reason enough for you to purchase it. That it's also great looking, inventive, funny, and even a little tactical makes it a must for anyone who can appreciate stylish but relatively mindless console-style action. System Requirements OS: Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7. Processor: 1.8 GHz Processor. Memory: 512 MB RAM. Graphics: 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 (compatible with DirectX 9 recommended

  22. After announcing that it would add protection against reply-all email chains last year, Microsoft has rolled out a new feature to Office 365 customers to do just that. An email storm typically occurs when a member of a large email distribution list, such as a company wide email at a large organization, replies to all of the recipients using the reply-all feature. This can inadvertently trigger a DDoS attack that has the potential to take down the email servers used to deliver the huge amount of replies sent during the storm. Email storms occur quite frequently and Microsoft itself suffered two of these incidents in January and March of this year. The first involved 11,500 of the company's employees while the second was much larger and included more than 52,000 employees. Microsoft is making its Office 365 security better for businesses Microsoft Teams passes major milestone These are the best email providers During last year's Microsoft Ignite conference, the software giant announced that it would begin working on a new feature to help prevent reply-all email storms on Office 365 Exchange email servers and the new feature has now begun to roll out to Office 365 users worldwide. Reply All Storm Protection According to Microsoft, its Reply All Storm Protection feature is currently able to block all email threads with over 5,000 recipients that have generated more than 10 reply-all sequences within the last 60 minutes. Once the feature gets alerted that an email storm is occurring, Exchange Online will block all replies in an email thread for the next few hours in order to help servers prioritize actual emails while working to shut down the reply-all email chain. Microsoft plans to continue working on the feature in the future and the company has promised to add controls for Exchange admins to allow them to set up their own email storm detection limits. The Exchange Team provided more details on how the feature will work and on its plans for future updates in a blog post, saying: “Initially the Reply All Storm Protection feature will mostly benefit large organizations who have large distribution lists. When the feature detects a likely reply all storm taking place on a large DL it will block subsequent attempts to reply all to the thread and will return an NDR to the sender. The reply all block will remain in place for several hours. Over time, as we gather usage telemetry and customer feedback, we expect to tweak, fine-tune, and enhance the Reply All Storm Protection feature to make it even more valuable to a broader range of Office 365 customers.” We've also highlighted the best email clients Via ZDNet

  23. HP will soon release a drive that looks like a replica of the original HP EX900 SSD. As spotted by hardware publication Guru3D, HP's unannounced EX900 Pro M.2 SSD has been listed with substantial performance and endurance uplifts. The EX900 Pro still comes in the M.2 2280 form factor with a single-sided design and slides into your regular PCIe 3.0 x4 interface. Biwin's listing is extremely stingy on the the technical details of the drive, so it's hard to tell if it'll be one of the best SSDs upon release. For example, it's unclear what kind of SSD controller or NAND the EX900 Pro uses. The original EX900 leverages Silicon Motion's SM2263XT DRAM-less controller, which features Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, and Micron's 64-layer 3D TLC (triple-level cell) NAND chips. In layman's terms, HMB allows SSD vendors to use a certain amount of your system's memory to compensate for the lack of DRAM on the SSD itself. The EX900's ratio is 1MB of memory for every 1GB of NAND memory. Biwin listed EX900 Pro 256GB, 512GB and 1TB drives with DRAM sizes of 256MB, 512MB and 1GB, respectively. This suggests that HP could be using a SSD controller with DRAM for the EX900 Pro. While the prior EX900 started at 120GB, based on the Biwin listing, the Pro variant will start at 500GB. The change in density is only the tip of the iceberg though, as the EX900 Pro also flaunts improved performance and endurance levels. In general, the EX900 Pro has slower sequential reads compared to the EX900 drives, but it's a mere 7% difference. The sequential write results vary, depending on model. For example, the EX900 Pro 256GB model has roughly 14% lower sequential writes than the EX900 250GB, but the EX900 Pro 512GB model delivers up to 20% higher than the EX900 500GB model. The EX900 Pro excels in the random performance area. We're looking at enhancements between 39% and 61% in random writes and between 147% and 161%, depending on the capacity. The endurance levels for the EX900 Pro have improved considerably as well. Improvements pan from 129% to 225%, depending on which models you're comparing. This huge upgrade could only mean that HP is utilizing higher density NAND than before, perhaps the Micron 96-layer 3D TLC chips. Whatever ingredients HP is utilizing with the upcoming EX900 Pro, the company seems pretty confident in their reliability. HP backs the EX900 Pro with a limited five-year warranty, two more years than the previous EX900. At the moment, price and release date for the EX900 Pro drives are unknown. But since there's a listing, we expect HP to release the SSDs soon.

  24. With a figure close to 2,000 deaths and close to 70,000 infections across the country, Peru wants to start seeing the light. Hundreds of companies will resume their activity this Monday, May 11, as reported by the Ministry of Production. Produce's evident objective is the partial reactivation of the Peruvian economy and thus avoid a business catastrophe that will economically sink the country. How many companies return to work? As reported by the Minister of Production, Rocío Barrios, 208 Peruvian companies are, as of Monday, May 11, "in a position to provide their services." What sector are these companies from? For the moment, the companies that return to activity after the quarantine period belong to the textile and clothing sector, the e-commerce sector and the restaurant sector, in which it also specified that up to 77 restaurant companies have received the approval to resume their work, something that will affect more than 500 workers. "There are currently some 220,000 restaurants in Peru. Of those, these first few weeks it is proposed to enable an average of around 2,500 restaurants for Metropolitan Lima alone. Week after week, within the framework of progressivity and also taking care on the issue of health and risk mitigation, we will be enabling larger groups, "said Barrios.
