  5. On an average day, about a dozen new games are released on Steam. And while we think that's a good thing, it can be understandably hard to keep up with. Potentially exciting gems are sure to be lost in the deluge of new things to play unless you sort through every single game that is released on Steam. So that’s exactly what we’ve done. If nothing catches your fancy this week, we've gathered the best PC games you can play right now and a running list of the 2021 games that are launching this year. Release:‌ ‌February 24 Developer:‌ Spiderweb Software Launch price:‌ ‌$16.99‌ ‌|‌ ‌£13.16 ‌|‌ ‌AU$24.60 Here's a remaster of the 2001 cult classic indie RPG Geneforge, which not only boosts the graphics to be a bit more palatable on modern displays, but also adds new mechanics, vastly improved UI, inventory management and more. You play as a wizard (known in-game as a "shaper") who can, among other things, create beasts to do their bidding. It's a hefty 50+ hour RPG full of choice and freedom, and it's something I've been meaning to play for years - this seems like the best way to go about that, though the original is still on Steam if you fancy it Release:‌ February 26 Developer:‌ Celery Emblem Launch price:‌ ‌$15.29‌ ‌|‌ ‌£14.39‌ ‌|‌ ‌AU$21.55 Another reissue, though this package collates all three episodes of the Baobabs Mausoleum series: a strange 8-bit styled adventure game starring a sentient eggplant, and set in a mysterious town that appears briefly every 25 years. According to the description of the first episode it mixes Monkey Island and Zelda: Link's Awakening with the weirdness of Twin Peaks and SpongeBob. Seems like a good time to try this bizarre concoction. Release:‌ ‌February 25 Developer:‌ Vittorio Banfi Launch price:‌ ‌$19.99‌ ‌|‌ ‌£19.00‌ ‌|‌ ‌AU$28.95 This Early Access cyberpunk city builder seems to be fairly early in development, but it looks promising. The star feature is that, in true cyberpunk style, you can build multi-levelled dystopias: buildings can stack on top of each other or even extend beneath the ground. Also, if you want to make your grim futuristic city nice instead of evil, you can do that too, because you can reject corporations and gangs (though I'm sure they'll put up some resistance). The Early Access features are fairly limited, but it's getting a lot of cool stuff between now and when it's expected to launch, which is in about 18 months. Hot Brass Release:‌ February 27 Developer:‌ Walk With Kings Launch price:‌ ‌$11.99‌ ‌|‌ ‌£9.11‌ ‌|‌ ‌AU$17.20 Hot Brass is basically a SWAT sim: played from a top down perspective, your job is to be stealthy, tactical, clever and murderous. Because the game is primarily about decision making and thinking ahead, you'll play as icons rather than 3D human models, which is an interesting touch. Some people are calling it a top down SWAT game, which seems pretty accurate, and as a bonus it has 1-4 player online and local cooperative play. These games were released between February 22 and March 1 2021. Some online stores give us a small cut if you buy something through one of our links. Read our affiliate policy for more info. ‌

  7. U.S. professional football and basketball have a future, baseball needs help and global soccer, including Major League Soccer, is quickly rising among a new generation, according to a new survey. Morning Consult spoke to Generation Alpha parents (those born after 2013) and compared the results with to a Gen Z (ages 13 to 23) survey last year. “It makes sense,” said Alex Silverman, who analyzes sports studies for Morning Consult. “Soccer has been dubbed as this sport of the future in the U.S. for a while, but it takes time for that to manifest.” The firm spoke to more than 2,000 parents and focused on youth no older than age 8. For context as to who Alphas are, the firm pointed to Apple’s first iPad, released in 2010, and a device the Alphas should know how to operate. Morning Consult found that soccer is the No. 1 participation sport and second in fandom for Alphas. And 73% of the parents are encouraging their kids to play sports, while 65% encourage them to be sports fans. “You’re seeing more interest among young adults in soccer internationally and to a certain extent MLS. As this first generation of U.S.-born soccer fanatics has kids, they may push them in that direction,” Silverman said. In a 2020 survey, Morning Consult found there was a drop off in Gen Z’s interest in sports, with the National Basketball Association the only league the age group followed more than the general public. The study found 53% of Gen Z identified as sports fans, down from the previous generation, Millennials, who polled at 69% for that topic. In the survey, released Monday, the firm wanted to know if Gen Alpha, the kids of Millennials, “will take after their parents more or follow in the footsteps of Gen Z and move away from sports,” said Silverman, suggesting Alphas could emulate Gen Z behavior when it comes to sports fandom. “I would say I wouldn’t expect to see a drop off, which is good news because there was a drop-off between Millennials and Gen Z,” Silverman said. The troubling signs come courtesy of Covid-19. Morning Consult said 35% of the parents noted Alphas lost interest in sports during the pandemic. This month marks one year since the NBA led U.S. pro sports in suspending games due to Covid-19. “That’s something that sports will have to reckon with once fans are fully allowed back in buildings and from a youth sports perspective when kids are allowed back,” said Silverman, adding that 48% of the parents found their kids don’t have the attention span to watch sports on TV, compared to 37% of Gen Z. NFL experiment with kids is po[CENSORED]r Morning Consult did poll parents about the NFL’s Nickelodeon game during the playoffs. Parents were shown a one-minute clip of highlights to give them a sense of ViacomCBS’s kids simulcast. The New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears attracted roughly 30 million viewers. The NFL’s kids version on Nickelodeon drew approximately 2 million, becoming Nickelodeon’s “most-watched program among total viewers in nearly four years,” the network said in January. The firm said more than 70% of parents said they would watch a game like that with kids and two-thirds said Alphas would enjoy the broadcast more than the traditional version. “It scored really well with these Alpha parents,” Silverman said. He added the NFL polled well as a top spectator sport and that 62% of Gen Alpha parents say sports are essential to their family. Baseball’s concern and professional gaming’s future But America’s favorite pastime is hurting. The survey found Major League Baseball continues to poll low with younger generations. Silverman said parents of the past two generations said they grew up watching baseball dropped significantly in the Gen Z survey and remain low among Alpha parents. “Baseball, out of the three major sports, is seeing the most concerning trend,” said Silverman. “It’s become very strikeout or home run-oriented.” MLB plans to suppress baseballs in an attempt to cut down on home runs as a record 6,776 were hit during the 2019 season, according to the Associated Press. The thinking is, putting more balls in play could also help MLB with faster gameplay to help with short attention spans from fans. Morning Consult shared its findings with the MLB and said the league could examine ways to improve connection points with younger kids, including promoting more wiffle ball to attract youth to the sport. And when it comes to the future sport, esports is lurking. “You’re seeing a continuation around the enthusiasm around gaming moving forward,” Silverman said, noting esports stars are closer to the age group of Gen Z and Alphas and building fanbases through interacting with gaming audiences.

  9. Schools in the occupied West Bank will shut down for 12 days in an effort to stop a sharp rise in coronavirus variant infections, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh said on Saturday, reported Reuters. High schools will be exempt from the closure which will begin on Sunday, Shtayyeh said in a televised address, adding the new restrictions were prompted by a large number of cases of the British and South African variants in the territory. Intensive care units for COVID-19 patients have reached 95% occupancy in the West Bank and schools have been identified as a major cause for the fast spread of infections, the Ministry of Health said. On Thursday, it reported that a randomised sample of coronavirus patients showed that more than three-quarters were infected with the British variant. The World Bank said in a report this week that the Palestinian territories have one of the lowest testing rates in the Middle East and North Africa and that the positivity rate in the West Bank is over 21%, and in Gaza 29%, indicating an uncontrolled spread of the pandemic. Opinion: Israel's vaccine apartheid is a violation of international law The West Bank, where 3.1 million Palestinians live, has reported a total of 118,519 coronavirus cases and 1,406 deaths. Gaza, where coronavirus restrictions have gradually been lifted since January, has reported 55,091 cases and 549 deaths within its po[CENSORED]tion of 2 million. With around 32,000 vaccine doses in hand to date, the Palestinians launched limited vaccination programmes in the West Bank and Gaza this month, beginning with health workers. The Palestinian Authority (PA) expects to receive an initial COVAX shipment within weeks and says it also has supply deals with Russia and drugmaker AstraZeneca, although doses have been slow to come. Shtayyeh said he expected shipments in March. Israel has donated 2,000 doses to the PA but has come under criticism for not supplying more vaccines to the Palestinians. It argues that under interim peace accords the PA is responsible for vaccinations in Gaza and the West Bank.

  13. Reiterating that only a two-state solution will deliver enduring peace that the people of Israel and Palestine deserve, India has said this should be achieved through direct negotiations between both sides on final status issues and any unilateral action which could prejudice these issues must be avoided. India's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador K Nagaraj Naidu said on Friday at the UN Security Council meeting on The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question' that New Delhi reaffirms its support to the Palestinian cause and the establishment of a sovereign, viable and independent State of Palestine living side by side in peace and security with Israel. We firmly believe that only a two-state solution will deliver enduring peace that the people of Israel and Palestine desire and deserve. This should be achieved through direct negotiations between both sides on final status issues. Both sides must avoid any unilateral action which could prejudice these final status issues, he said. Naidu termed the recent diplomatic efforts to revive the stalled peace talks as encouraging and added that the meeting of the Quartet's Special Envoys is timely. India urged the Quartet to initiate engagement with the Israeli and the Palestinian leadership. India welcomes all efforts, which are aimed at strengthening the collective commitment of the international community to resume direct negotiations and facilitate the peace process, Naidu said. Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and Personal Representative of the Secretary-General Tor Wennesland told the Council meeting that the global community is focused on helping the parties return to the negotiating table. Earlier this month, the League of Arab States reiterated its support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Envoys of the Middle East Quartet Russia, United States, European Union and United Nations - met virtually on February 15 to discuss the political developments, with all agreeing to meet on a regular basis. Naidu also added that India is pleased to note that preparations for the Palestinian elections are moving forward. The Cairo agreement between the Palestinian parties on the conduct of parliamentary and presidential elections - to abide by the electoral timetable, accept the results of the election and on other election related arrangements - is a positive step in the right direction, he said. Noting that the commitment undertaken by all parties to release political detainees will also help build trust between them, India acknowledged Egypt's efforts in facilitating this agreement. The high percentage of Palestinians, who have registered to vote in the elections, reflects their desire to take part in the democratic process, he said. Wennesland said the holding of free and fair elections in the Palestinian Territory will help clear the path for restoring a legitimate political horizon to realise a long sought two-State solution. The elections will provide a crucial step towards re-establishing Palestinian national unity and renewing the legitimacy of national institutions, including a democratically elected Legislative Council and Government in Palestine, he said. Naidu added that the opening of Rafah border crossing is a significant development, which will ease the humanitarian and health situation in Gaza. India stressed that the pandemic's impact on the people of Gaza has been particularly severe due to the fragile health-care infrastructure. Noting that COVID-19 vaccines are being made available to the people of Palestine, including in Gaza, Naidu said India strongly believes that equity in access to vaccines across the world is important for mitigating the impact of the pandemic. India has provided critical medicines and medical equipment to Palestine as COVID-19 assistance and is now in the process of sending a second batch of medicines as a grant to the Palestinian people in the coming weeks. We will also facilitate an early supply of vaccines to Palestine, Naidu said. On COVID vaccination prospects, Wennesland welcomed the announcement of the Palestinian vaccination strategy and the initial allocation to the Palestinian Ministry of Health of 37,440 doses of vaccines by the COVAX-AMC facility. 15. Bournemouth boss Jonathan Woodgate said the stoppage-time brawl which overshadowed his side's win over high-flying Watford "happens all the time in rugby". Home midfielder Jack Wilshere was sent off for his part in the mass melee sparked by Joao Pedro's late challenge which saw the Watford forward also shown a second yellow card. Arnaut Danjuma squeezed home the only goal to keep the Cherries firmly in the promotion hunt, striking on the half-volley from a long free-kick and beating goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann at his near post from a narrow angle. "It did not look great, but that's football and it was two teams very passionate and two sets of players who wanted to win," Woodgate said about the fracas. "It happens all the time in rugby and does not get talked about, but when it happens in football, everyone talks about it." Watford head coach Xisco Munoz did not want to talk about the incident but described football as an "emotional game". Danjuma's goal came minutes after a previously sedate match sprung to life - the Netherlands striker twice going close for Bournemouth and Tom Cleverley denied at the other end - while Ismaila Sarr went agonisingly close to prodding in a late leveller from Ken Sema's header. Relive Bournemouth's win over Watford Victory is Bournemouth's first since head coach Woodgate was appointed for the rest of the season and moved them back into the Championship play-off places, in sixth, after Cardiff could only draw at Middlesbrough. Watford stayed third after their second league defeat in 12, seven points behind leaders Norwich, after seeing their four-game winning run ended. Their best opportunity came with the game goalless when Cleverley was put through by Sarr, but Asmir Begovic saved his low effort. The first sign of animosity between the sides came just before Danjuma's goal, as Watford's Nathaniel Chalobah was booked after appearing to push opposing midfielder Jefferson Lerma in the face. Replays showed Bournemouth's Lerma made the most of the incident, with Chalobah's yellow his 10th of the season - meaning he will miss the Hornets' next two matches. From that point there was a fiery undercurrent which spilled over when Pedro caught Lerma with a sliding challenge, sparking clashes which saw former Arsenal and England man Wilshere - only on as a 75th-minute substitute - earn his second yellow card in five minutes. Play briefly resumed before the final whistle, and both clubs are likely to face sanctions from the Football Association. Bournemouth head coach Jonathan Woodgate: "We have to see that win as a bedrock to climb up the table and it showed this team can fight. "I want a hard underbelly, not a soft one, and I want teams to know this is going to be a hard place to come and play." Watford boss Xisco Munoz: "I want to only speak about positive things about my team. We tried to play in the last second. "I am disappointed with the result but not the performance. My team was ambitious and played very hard. "I said to the guys, 'we need to keep going', because we were in a very good moment with four wins in a row. This is not easy in the Championship."
  16. A key component in Antilles’ active lifestyle planning is the exceptional amount of space it has devoted to shared community activities. In addition to its five-acre Kingfisher Lake and adjacent unspoiled Wetland Preserve, linear parks have been created to encourage hiking, nature explorations and a general outdoor-exercise plan. Bench hydration and pet convenience stations are being installed across the property in anticipation of homeowners’ needs. The fabulous Flamingo Club at Antilles offers 5,000 air-conditioned square feet of community oriented amenities, including business and conference rooms, catering, kitchen and dining areas, and general socializing, games and gathering spaces. The exercise and fitness center is fitted out with professional equipment ranging from treadmills, recumbent bikes, bench press with graduated-size weights and free weights, to medicine and balance balls, plus varied-tension exercise stretch bands. Massage services can be concierge-scheduled. About one-half of the Flamingo Club’s space is occupied by its huge Gathering Room that overlooks the outdoor living area, Lake and Preserve. It offers distinct areas for socializing, from a lounge area complete with fireplace, big screen TV and comfortable upholstered seating, to multiple tables with plush side chairs perfect for cards, dining and conversational groupings, to Sonny’s Cafe with its snack bar seating. It is positioned to become Antilles’ hub from morning coffee through evening brews. Antilles’ outdoor living area is almost twice as large as the Flamingo Club, adding 9,000 more square feet of luxury appointments. The Club’s entire rear elevation consists of floor to ceiling windows and doors focusing on its singular 3,500 square foot Resort Pool and Spa. The Pool’s sun-shelf entry and stunning negative edge perimeter create the illusion of endless waters spilling from it into Kingfisher Lake and the Preserve just beyond. When highlighted at night, the Pool and the Lake’s twin triple-tiered fountains will be a dramatic sight, exclusively for Antilles’ homeowners. The expansive arbor-covered Conversation and Fire Pit is to the left of the Pool. Its built-in bench seating will encourage comfortable lounging and become another outdoor space for socializing. The Tiki Hut on the opposite side of the pool deck adds a uniquely Florida kind of open air gathering space for Antilles’ homeowners. Its al fresco seating and umbrella-shaded tables offer bird’s eye views of the game courts. Twin Bocce Ball courts have been astroturfed for year round play. Chief among the ancient lawn sport’s enduring charms is that regulation play can be maintained while competing well into the evening and with a wine glass in one hand. Not so much for Pickleball. Antilles’ regulation quad-courts are already in use. At last month’s Grand Opening Celebration, JMD Development hosted a few local teams during regional tournaments. For those who are not yet familiar with the very po[CENSORED]r and relatively new sport, each Pickleball court is the size of a double’s badminton pitch yet striped like a tennis court. As an American invention dating to 1965, it came about by chance when regulation badminton equipment was not available for a group of friends in Washington state. By 1972 the substitutions were standardized and Pickleball was incorporated, its name a reference to a boating term. In addition to the Flamingo Club’s combined 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor luxury amenities, Antilles has been developed with attention to high value improvements. The site is distinguished by an exuberance of mature palms. Five hundred - fifty Sabal Palms, Florida’s state tree, line two sides of the fifty-four acre development, creating a majestic backdrop for the community’s updated West Indies Island style architecture. The detailed brickwork of the monument entry and its twin gates will add another layer of distinction. The site has always been Antilles greatest asset. Set back at the quiet end of a long approach rich is old Florida color, the beauty inherent in this setting is a sub-tropical wonderland of natural assets. During the course of construction, many local waterfowl, birds and native species have been photographed in their habitats which will remain untouched within Antilles’ protected Wetland Preserve. Decorator models of the four different Coach Home floorplans are available for viewing daily, as are multiple move-in ready homes. Finishing touches are being added to two Multiplex models. 17. Huawei and Samsung kicked the folding smartphone market in 2019 with the Huawei Mate X and Galaxy Fold respectively. Both companies had to deal with multiple challenges in this segment, but they overcome most of them. Unfortunately, only Samsung managed to keep concentrated in this segment. Huawei, on the other hand, had to deal with the ban that was applied that same year by the US government. The Chinese company was added to the entity list and was then prived from getting access to US-based technologies – Software or Hardware. Despite the multiple problems it is dealing with now, Huawei decided to launch the third iteration of its folding smartphone on February 22 – The Huawei Mate X2. The Huawei Mate X2 changed the external folding mode of the former Mate XS to inward folding. The new device is equipped with a new double helix drop hinge, which allows the screen to be stored in an arc shape and avoid hard folding. The Mate X2 also boasts an 8:7.1 flexible inner display. It is overlaid with the first magnetron nano-optical film in the industry. It reduces the reflectivity of the screen. Under the hood, the phone packs the Kirin 9000 which is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal Storage priced at CNY 17,999 (~$2778). There is a more expensive variant that has 512GB of Internal Storage and sets you back by CNY 18,999 (~$2932). HUAWEI MATE X2 RECEIVES EMUI 11.0.0.135 SOFTWARE UPDATE According to a report from Weibo, the Huawei Mate X2 is getting its first software update. It carries build number EMUI 11.0.0.135 and brings a ton of improvements for the folding screen. It optimizes the display effect of interface content and optimizes screen touch sensitivity. The update also brings improvements for the shooting effect of some scenes of the camera. Last but not least, we have a set of underhood improvements for performance and overall stability. The update has 432MB in size and is rolling out in a gradual manner.
  18. If you’ve been putting together a new gaming PC, and you’ve splurged too much on the best graphics card and best gaming CPU to have any funds left over for a PC case, why would you not just enshroud your components with the thousands of lego bricks you have stashed away in the attic? Redditor Hackerbill shared some photos of their Lego-based PC they built all the way back in 2002, complete with a Pentium 4 processor, two disc drives and a floppy disk drive – living the high life, there. They say they wished they’d superglued the bricks together as their build would flex a disconcerting amount when they moved the PC. Looking at the pictures, it doesn’t look like the sturdiest structure around. Seriously though, don’t try this yourself. Lego itself doesn’t recommend storing bricks at temperatures over 40°C for extended periods, so even with the best AIO cooler you’ll struggle to get temperatures sufficiently low to keep your PC case from melting into your precious components, although this Redditor seemed to live to tell the tale. If the problem of melting plastic ceases to exist, we reckon Lego bricks could actually make a viable PC case. First of all, ventilation wouldn’t be too much of a problem, with those Lego Technic bricks that have the holes on the front, making great vents for all your fans. And, you’d never have to worry about buying a new case if a new graphics card didn’t fit – you could just build the case around it. Suffering from graphics card sag? Lego can sort that right out, too. But, unless we ever see PC components running at sub-zero temperatures that won’t cause your Lego PC to become a melted pile of plastic, we don’t think it’ll ever catch on.
  19. Tunneling in Minecraft can be a pain. Thankfully, someone’s devised a way of automating it, sort of. A new data pack lets you create TNT that will blow a hole in whatever direction you’d like, just be careful where you point it. The modder jpdude98 posted a video of his wily invention, showcasing its explosive capabilities. First, you set down a normal TNT, then attach a sticky piston on whatever side you want it go, then add a whole bunch more TNT, and when it explodes, it’ll carry on exploding for however many other TNTs you put in, carving a massive hole in its wake. The technique isn’t exactly graceful, and once you set it off, that is it, though the pack includes a charm for protecting items from your path of fire. It’s very effective for reaching underground layers quickly, or going through a mountain, rather than around or over. What’s even cooler is you can use it to fast-travel too, combining a saddle and a Blast Protection 4 book to sit on the TNT as it makes its journey. Taking the scenic route, well and truly. You can download the data pack here. Pair it up with this other mod that turns loads of Minecraft’s items into time bombs, and you’re in for a whale of a time.

24. David Moyes has likened Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal for his tactical innovations that defy convention. Blumenthal is famous for coming up with unusual recipes such as bacon and egg flavoured ice-cream and snail porridge, which work despite the ingredients. West Ham boss Moyes, aiming to end City's 19-game winning run on Saturday, feels the same about Guardiola. "Pep is the Heston Blumenthal of football," said Moyes. Former Barcelona coach Guardiola's latest move has been to use Joao Cancelo as a full-back and a midfield pivot at the same time, a tactic that has flummoxed a series of opposing managers. "Blumenthal will do something stupid or outrageous that you would never dream of, like mixing chocolate with eggs and you think 'that is never going to work, it is not going to taste right or look good'. But it does," Moyes added. "Pep does things in football terms which are remarkable, that lots of other people would not have thought of. I hold him in such high esteem. He is innovative and always looking for new ideas. "I get this feeling he is in a think-tank room, thinking about how he can make his players perform better, or where they can receive the ball in space and make it difficult for the opposition." In cooking terms, Moyes likens himself to fellow Scot Gordon Ramsay, famous for his fiery temper and choice language: "You know what you are getting there don't you?" However, stopping Cancelo is not proving to be a particularly amusing pastime and is causing Moyes to think hard about how to go about getting the kind of positive result that will keep his side in the top four. "How you deal with it takes up a lot of your thought time," he said. "If it is a level playing field, you might say we will take you on and do our own thing. When your players are maybe not at the level of the ones Manchester City have it is a struggle." 'The artists are the players' While West Ham travel to Etihad Stadium (kick-off 12.30 GMT) after beating Tottenham on Sunday, Premier League leaders City's impressive winning run continued with a one-sided Champions League triumph over Borussia Monchengladbach in their last-16 first leg on Wednesday, Following that 2-0 victory, Guardiola said City's current form and the club's success since his appointment in 2016 was simply down to the money they had spent. "We have a lot of money to buy a lot of incredible players," he said on Wednesday. "Without good quality players we cannot do it." Returning to the topic in Friday's press conference, Guardiola reiterated that "the difference is the players" and played down his own influence. "I would tell you if I believed the reason [for our success] was me," Guardiola said. "I would be grateful to say that the reason behind this success is because I'm so handsome and that's the reason why. It's not like that. It's the players. The big clubs have incredible success and it's due to the quality of the players, the mentality." City, who have won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and three League Cups under Guardiola, have made several big-money signings during the Spaniard's tenure - with £65m defender Ruben Dias the most recent arrival in September. Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte, Joao Cancelo, Rodri, Benjamin Mendy and John Stones have all also arrived for fees in excess of £50m. "I came here to win in England and we have done it already - but I did it," Guardiola added. "I came to play in a special way and I did it. The job is done, but still I have the feeling we can do better. "For a short time, you can do it without top players but sustaining for a long time - in an incredible organisation that supports their manager so the journalists and the players know he will not be sacked - this is so important. "After that, [you need] top quality players. I never in my 12 years as manager scored a goal. I never saved a penalty. The artists are the players. All we can do is help them, knowing that doing the same, you can lose."
  25. There isn’t a better time than now to start getting fit with health information and products so easily accessible. Simply incorporate the basics into your daily routine — good nutrition, adequate exercise and a daily supplement — and start down the path toward better health. Plan a nutritious diet The Dietary Guidelines for Americans describes a healthy diet as one that emphasizes fruits, vegetables, lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, nuts, whole grains and fat-free or low-fat milk products. It should be low in saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, salt and added sugar. Warm weather makes fresh produce more easily accessible. Eat more fruits and vegetables by setting freshly washed and prepared produce on the kitchen counter or at eye level in the fridge. At every meal, make sure half your plate is made up of fruit and vegetable servings. One-fourth of your plate at every meal should be made up of grains, such as wheat, rice, oats, cornmeal or barley. People who eat whole grains as part of a healthy diet have a reduced risk of some chronic diseases. The remaining one-fourth of your plate should be lean or low-fat cuts of meat, plant-based protein or seafood. Get regular exercise The Department of Health and Human Services recommends an adequate amount of exercise every day. This guide can point to the right amount of exercise to add to your schedule: Get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity every week. For best results, spread the time out over several days. Do strength training exercises at least twice a week. Lifting weights builds muscle, which means the body burns more calories — even at rest. It’s important to keep in mind that when people are active, they produce more free radicals. The antioxidants found in supplements can help buffer the negative effects of the workout. Improving your diet, exercising regularly, taking a daily supplement and getting enough restorative sleep are all important steps to overall wellness. Work to incorporate each step into your daily routine until you reach your goal of good health, and find more health-conscious tips at eLivingToday.com. (Family Features)
