8 killed, 124 injured in bomb blast at religious seminary in Pakistan's Peshawar Officials said that eight people were killed and 124 others were injured in the bomb blast that took place in a religious seminary in northwest Pakistan's Peshawar city on Tuesday. A bag filled with explosive materials was kept close to wall of the seminary by some unknown person which went off, another official said. Eight people were killed and 124 others were injured as a powerful blast ripped through a religious seminary in northwest Pakistan's Peshawar city on Tuesday, an official said. The blast took place around 8:30 am at a local mosque, which also serves as a religious school in Dir Colony in interior Peshawar. At the time of the blast, students were reading the Quran, news agency PTI quoted Peshawar police chief Muhammad Ali Khan as saying. How to reduce anger What is anger? Anger is defined as “a normal, usually healthy, human emotion.” After a surge of anger, if you can hit the delete button, then that is fine. However, when anger gets out of hand, a host of problems pop-up in all areas of life: physical, mental, emotional, and social. Why is anger harmful to your health? Anger triggers the basic flight-or-fight response. Primarily, it causes an increase in heart rate, blood pressure, and stress levels. The breathing rate increases too. When anger is ‘recurrent and unmanaged’, metabolic changes are set in motion that inevitably affect not just health, but also the overall quality of life. Unmanaged anger can cause many ill-effects such as: heart attack stroke decreased immunity skin problems insomnia high blood pressure digestive problems anxiety and depression migraines negative emotions complications in pre-existing health conditions Understanding anger Anger is not good. You have repeatedly reminded yourself about this. Yet when the emotion arises, you are unable to control it. As children, you were taught to not get angry but were not taught how to control or reduce anger. Before we get into the tips on how to reduce anger, let’s begin at the beginning. What causes anger? 1. Often when we see imperfection around us, we are unable to accept it. For instance, when someone has done something wrong, our anger rises like a wave and then subsides, leaving us shaken, and sometimes with regret. 2. When we are angry, we are not aware. The first step is to realize that anger cannot remove imperfections. We need to understand that only when we are able to accept the situation as it is, we can correct it with awareness. 3. This is easier said than done because it is never easy to deal with the mind or emotions directly. That is why we need certain techniques to help us. Meditation for anger, breathing techniques to calm down play a significant role. You are what you eat Have you noticed some days you feel calm and relaxed, while on others, you are restless? This is because the food you eat greatly affects your mind and emotions. Certain types of food bring restlessness and tension in the mind and body. This type of food mainly includes non-vegetarian, spicy and oily food. On days when you are feeling reactive, avoid this kind of food and observe. Chances are that you will find a shift within. One of the steady ways to reduce anger and the intensity of emotion over time is to eat healthy. Experience the power of rest How do you feel if you have not had sound sleep? Do you tend to get angry more often? Tiredness and restlessness in your body can lead to stress, tension, and agitation in the mind. Sleeping for at least 6-8 hours every day is essential to reduce anger because it ensures proper rest for the body as well as the mind. Good sleep reduces the chances of you feeling agitated. Yogic twists are good to reduce anger A quick 10 to 15 minutes of yoga asanas will help remove the tension and restlessness in your body and mind. This, in turn, will help to reduce anger and will also prepare the mind for meditation. A few rounds of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) could be a good way to begin. The advantage of yoga asanas over just physical exercise is that the yogic postures are synchronized with breath and thus, increase your energy levels along with providing the necessary physical stretches. “On certain days, when I feel stressed out, I feel a lot of stiffness in my body. This makes me restless and agitated. I tend to get angry easily. Yoga removes stiffness from the body, I find that it is one of the fastest ways to reduce anger. The result is a relaxed and happy mind,” said Priyam Khanna. Practice Pranayama to reduce anger Pranayamas such as bhastrika and nadi shodhan help reduce restlessness in the mind. When the mind is calm, you are less likely to get agitated and angry. But, ensure you learn them only from a qualified teacher. Deep breaths Taking a few deep breaths will instantly help you drop anger. The moment you become angry, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Observe the change in your state of mind. Breath releases stress and helps your mind calm down. Do the ‘hmm’ Doing the “hmm” process takes just a couple of minutes, but will immediately make you calmer and helps to reduce anger. Meditate daily Regular practice of yoga, pranayama, and attention to food help to settle the restlessness, but how can one sustain a calm and balanced state of mind? Meditating regularly is your answer. Just 20 minutes of daily meditation is sufficient for an entire day. You will notice that even if you do get angry, you calm down faster. Though meditation has several benefits to the mind and body, meditation for anger reduction is one of the key benefits. It would be ideal to learn meditation from an experienced teacher. However, until you’re waiting to visit a class, practice one of these guided meditations. “Meditation keeps me calm and away from my anger,” said Surbhi Sharma

Pace of T10 separates it from T20, Abu Dhabi T10 can be game-changer in Olympics: Sam Billings, Carlos Brathwaite Abu Dhabi T10 League: Sam Billings and Carlos Brathwaite, on a virtual round table with reporters on Tuesday, spoke about the various intriguing aspects of the T10 format. HIGHLIGHTS : Sam Billings has explained the challenges in T10 that separates it from T20 Carlos Brathwaite has opened up about the various prospects of T10 Sam Billings eyes for finisher spot in T20 World Cup for England As the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, being staged in UAE is in full flow, there preparations starting for the Abu Dhabi T10 league. In a virtual round table conference, held on Tuesday, star cricketers Sam Billings and Carlos Brathwaite shared their thoughts on the format and the various prospects that could be explored from strength to strength. “I think it’s really the pace of the game, and given its span of only 10 overs, that really separates the T10 format from the T20 format. The format is more compact and you have to be in the game right from the beginning. Say you waste a few deliveries, in fact just one, and suddenly the pressure is on the batsman. The key is to be in the game from the beginning until the end,” Sam Billings said about the T10 format. Cricket in Olympics: A prospect "I will see if the game kind of picks up around the world, certainly with the Olympics as a kind of carrot, I think, that would be the best encouraging factor internationally,” Billings added about the prospect of the t10 format in international cricket. Meanwhile, West Indies cricketing star Carlos Brathwaite is sure of the Abu Dhabi T10 league attracting a new set of audience. Brathwaite has batted for cricket in Olympics, a ‘game-changer’ with T10 being the bridge. Both cricketers also praised the facilities that T10 venues like Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi have provided. "It's about handling pressure and a player needs to get the basics right. It will interest a person to get into cricket. It's only 10 overs. Let's get through 60 balls and have a game of cricket. Let's see what it's like. I hope that in my lifetime cricket can get into the Olympics. And this is one way I see it being feasible," Brathwaite said. "It will be at the forefront of developing skills over the next few years as T20 cricket has done for ODI and take the game to another level on and off the pitch." Sam Billings eyes finisher role in England setup Billings, who last appeared for England recently during the home series in Australia, is eyeing for finisher role ahead of the next approaching T20 World Cup. The 29-year-old wicketkeeper batsmen had pulled out from the Chennai Super Kings' squad, prior to the coronavirus pandemic, to shift focus to his red-ball stint with his county club Kent. "There are quite a few options at the top of the order. Jason Roy, Tom Banton, Philip Salt, all these guys. But they can battle it out for those three spots. I've just focused on what I've done this summer and hopefully, I can continue that form over the course of the winter,” Billings said. "It is a different role, and it's a very specific role. So it's one that I really want to grasp. It's a role that I've done consistently over the last few years for Kent, and something that actually I prefer," he added. Sam Billings heaps praise on England teammate Sam Curran Watching England pacer Sam Curran open for CSK, Billings couldn’t help but praise his young England teammate. "Sam [Curran] is a special talent and every single time he plays in any game he makes things happen. That is the kind of craze associated with him. He offers both with the bat and ball and this trait is amazing. He's very a modern-day player," Billings stated. "I don't wanna jinx it though," Billings and everyone shared a laugh, as the press conference went on amid the first few overs of the CSK vs SRH clash of IPL 2020.

Trump's teenage son Barron tested positive for Covid-19, says Melania US President Donald Trump's teenage son Barron Trump had tested positive for coronavirus. However, Barron has recovered from the virus now. Barron Trump, the teenage son of US President Donald Trump, had also tested positive for coronavirus after his parents contracted virus, First Lady Melania Trump announced on Thursday. Trump and his wife tested positive for Covid-19 on October 1 but both of them have recovered from the disease now. Melania made the announcement on a blog on the White House website, wherein she said her son Barron, 14, had exhibited no symptoms. "My fear came true when he was tested again and it came up positive. Luckily, he is a strong teenager and exhibited no symptoms. In one way I was glad the three of us went through this at the same time so we could take care of one another and spend time together. He has since tested negative," Melania said on Wednesday, as reported by news agency PTI. Melania and his son stayed at the White House, while Trump had to spend eight days at a military hospital to recover from the novel virus. Trump, who has recovered fully now, is back on his campaign trail for the US presidential elections which are set to take place next month. The First Lady shared her experience, saying she was very fortunate as her diagnosis came with mild symptoms. "I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time. I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food. We had wonderful caretakers around us and we will be forever grateful for the medical care and professional discretion we received from Dr. Conley and his team," PTI reported Melania Trump.

89-year-old Dutch woman becomes 1st patient to die after Covid reinfection: Report Researchers say the elderly woman tested positive for Covid-19 twice in a span of 59 days and both her samples were genetically different. An 89-year-old woman in the Netherlands has reportedly become the first known person to die of coronavirus after contracting it twice. Reports say the elderly woman was suffering from a rare kind of bone marrow cancer known as Waldenström's macroglobulinemia. According to a report in CNN, the woman's immune system was "compromised" following a therapy she received. This case was reported in a study carried out by experts at the Maastricht University Medical Center in the Netherlands. Reinfection and rare cancer As per the CNN report, even though the woman was suffering from a rare cancer, researchers were of the view that her natural immune response could still have been "sufficient to fight-off Covid-19". This, they said, was because the cancer she had was "does not necessarily result in life threatening disease." When she tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time, the woman had a severe cough and fever, and was admitted. "She was discharged five days later when besides some persisting fatigue her symptoms subsided completely," the report said. Fifty-nine days after she first tested positive for Covid-19, the woman reportedly developed fever, cough and breathing difficulty. She was again tested for Covid-19 and her result came as positive. The CNN report says "no antibodies were detected in her blood system when tested on days four and six". By the eighth day of her chemotherapy, her condition deteriorated and she died two weeks later. Limitations? While the study does confirm that the woman had tested positive on two occasions with a gap of 59 days, she was not tested in between to concretely determine that she had recovered and then got reinfected. "However, upon examining the samples from both cases they found the genetic makeup of the two viruses to be different. They therefore concluded that it is likely that the second episode was a reinfection rather than prolonged shedding," CNN reported. Covid reinfection cases While this is not the first case of Covid reinfection to be reported, but it reportedly is the first case where the patient died following reinfection. The first confirmed and scientifically documented case of Covid reinfection was reported in Hong Kong in August in a 33-year-old man who contracted the virus 142 days after he first tested positive. Following this, cases of reinfections were reported in the Netherlands, Belgium and Ecuador. The latest such confirmation was about a 25-year-old man in Nevada, US who contracted Covid-19 twice in a span of 48 days. Doctors said his second hit was "more severe" and he had to be hospitalised and given oxygen support. The Ecuador patient too had a relatively more severe case of Covid-19 on the second occasion, while the patients in Belgium and the Netherlands had milder disease.

[AUTO] Elon Musk hints at Tesla's entry into India in 2021
Nikhel Nice posted a topic in Auto / Moto
Elon Musk hints at Tesla's entry into India in 2021 Tesla currently sells electric vehicles like Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y. HIGHLIGHTS : Elon Musk has been hinting at Tesla's entry into India for quite some time now. Elon Musk indicated about Tesla's entry into India in 2021 in a Twitter post. Tesla had unveiled the Cybertruck in November 2019. Elon Musk has been talking about Tesla's plan to enter India for quite some time now. The electric automobile manufacturer's CEO has now hinted that Tesla may arrive in India in 2021. While replying to a Twitter post, with photographs of t-shirts having captions like 'India Wants Tesla' and 'India Loves Tesla', Musk said: "Next year for sure." Musk did not stop here. A Twiter user had posted: "Omg!! Elon this is a celebrating news.. We were waiting for ages." In his reply, Tesla CEO said: "Thanks for waiting!" For Elon Musk, taking to Twitter to divulge important details about his company is not new, more so when it comes to Tesla's foray into India. In March 2019, Musk had said that Tesla would definitely arrive in India by 2020. Then again in July 2020, he had hinted at the company's foray into India in a year's time. However, responding to a question in August 2019 on when Tesla will enter India, Elon Musk said in a tweet: "I'm told import duties are extremely high (up to 100 per cent), even for electric cars. This would make our cars unaffordable." At present, Tesla sells electric vehicles like Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y. It had unveiled the Cybertruck in November 2019. The Tesla Cybertruck's production will reportedly start in late 2021. Among the po[CENSORED]r electric vehicles currently on sale in India are the Tata Nexon EV, the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric. Mercedes-Benz will launch the EQC in India on October 8, thereby becoming the first premium car manufacturer to launch a fully electric vehicle or BEV here.-

IPL 2020: De Villiers, Chahal and Sundar help RCB hand KKR 82-run thrashing in Sharjah IPL 2020, RCB vs KKR: AB de Villiers hit a 33-ball 73 not out before spinners Washinton Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal spun a web around Kolkata Knight Riders as Royal Challengers Bangalore clinched an 82-run win in Sharjah. HIGHLIGHTS : RCB thrashed KKR to go level on points with table-toppers MI and DC AB de Villiers hit 73 not out from just 33 balls to help RCB post 194 Spinners Chahal and Sundar picked up 3 crucial wickets, giving away just 32 runs in 8 overs It was Virat Kohli the other night against Chennai Super Kings in Dubai and on Monday, it was AB de Villiers single-handedly knocking the wind out of Kolkata Knight Riders as Royal Challengers Bangalore clinched their 2nd win as three days as their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 campaign is picking pace at the right time. With 5 wins from 7 matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore are tied on points with table-toppers Mumbai Indians. Virat Kohli's men are at the 2nd spot on IPL 2020 points table due to the former's superior Net Run Rate. AB de Villiers's genius gave Royal Challengers Bangalore 194 in 20 overs and the cushion to attack without minding the size of the boundaries. RCB did not put a foot wrong on Monday as their fast bowlers struck early, their spinners came up with a bowling display that is worthy of being a blueprint for how to bowl in Sharjah against some of the cleanest hitters of the ball. They took their catches alright and were electric on the field, imbibing their captain's energy as RCB clinched an 82-run win. KKR were restricted to 112 for 9 -- their lowest total against RCB in the history of IPL. Sundar and Chahal: 8 overs, 32 runs and 3 wickets Pacer Navdeep Saini gave the early breakthrough by removing young England batsman Tom Banton who was a little tentative on his IPL debut as early as the 4th over. Then came Washington Sundar who joled Kolkata Knight Riders with two big wickets, removing their enforcers in Nitish Rana (9) and Eoin Morgan (1). IPL 2020 Ful Coverage Yuzvendra Chahal got the big wicket of in-form Dinesh Karthik for 1. Virat Kohli was brilliant with his captaincy as he brought both the spinners in tandem, challenging the KKR batsmen to go after them. Sundar and Chahal did not give anything away as they conceded just 32 runs in 8 overs and picked up 3 crucial wickets between them. Even for Andre Russell, the asking rate was too steep but the big-hitter, who had recovered from an injury scare, threatened to come up with another of those single-handed miracles but Isuru Udana, who gave away 14 runs in 3 balls, got the big wicket, ending Russell's stay for just 16. Udana was brilliant on the field as well as he ran out Shubman Gill for 34 just when the youngster was looking to go big. Sluggish pitch, no problem: AB de Villiers puts on a show in Sharjah Earlier in the day, AB de Villiers came up with a masterclass of big-hitting on a sluggish wicket where even Virat Kohli struggled to get boundaries frequently. In fact, the RCB skipper managed his first boundary only in the 25th ball he faced but de Villiers finished his stunning knock with 6 sixes and 5 boundaries. It was Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal who gave RCB a strong start with some fine power-hitting in the powerplay. However, once the ball got a bit older, the two batsmen slowed down and lost their wickets. There was a period of 4 overs after Padikkal's exit when RCB did not manage a single boundary. However, after de Villiers walked in, it was just one-way traffic. The legendary batsman proved yet another time why he is one of the most, if not the most dangerous strikers of the ball.

How to Overcome Depression Take A Different View With depression often comes a psychological myopia: the sufferer robotically repeats to him or herself soul-sucking negative thoughts: “Nothing I try ever works out” “How could I have been so stupid?” “I am not worthy of being loved”. A patient deep in the throes of that kind of thinking can, if unchecked, spend an entire session staring at one spot—often the floor. At those moments I prod, “You are so stuck on only seeing things one way that you miss any other possible view. Literally. If you force yourself to look up, there are a variety of objects in the room to observe and ponder—a bookcase; lamps: paintings; a window with sunlight streaming in… It’s not that my office is so fascinating, but there is so much you miss when you refuse to look.” The patient then sheepishly lifts his or her eyes to take in the entirety of the room (“Oh, I never noticed that funny placard!”) as I hammer home the point: “There are a plethora of ways to view anything. Instead of continually convincing yourself everything is hopeless consider all the other options. There is always a Plan B.” Visualize A Happy Memory When a patient continually revisits a painful memory (say, of a romantic rejection or failed business enterprise), it can tip him or her into near emotional catatonia. I say, “Wait, before you ‘go down the rabbit hole’ and all the dark feelings overwhelm you, close your eyes and go to a happy memory.” *Paul remembered, “When I graduated from college, looked out at the audience and saw my family looking so proud, I felt amazing and powerful.” I said, “Great, go there. Let’s relive that wonderful experience.” As he described details from that lovely day (his mother’s periwinkle blue dress; standing on the stage holding his diploma…) his posture went from slumped over to peacock proud. He actually smiled. I suggested, “The moment you feel yourself sliding back to an awful memory that takes you under, take a breath and instantly conjure up graduation day. Counter the gloom with an immediate dose of positivity!” Tell Me Something Good A depressed person has earned a PhD in The Art and Science of Self-Hatred. When I ask, “How do you see yourself?” I get answers like: “I’m boring.” “I’m a coward.” “I’m ugly.” “I’m not smart.” To the speaker, these sentiments are absolute truths; his or her sense of identity, a soul-less place to live that is familiar, thus offering a ‘comfortable discomfort’, with no exit door. As long as these annihilating beliefs rule your self-image, nothing good can break through. When I ask, “Tell me good qualities about yourself,” I am initially greeted by silence. Then I hear a halting, “I’m kind” or “I’m caring.” If the patient gets stuck, I help out: “You’re a loving mother.” “You are a survivor.” “You are a nurturer” “You are super considerate.” “You are reliable”… As we construct a list, I ask the patient to write down the wonderful attributes and keep repeating them when the ‘toxic wheel of self-hating talk’ begins. I suggest asking friends and family members to email a list of positive qualities they value in my patient. The next step will be “to compile, print out the list and carry it in your wallet like a talisman.” For extra inoculation against the constant negativity, I suggest the patient write positive qualities on post-its and sprinkle them around the house: stick “I have gorgeous eyes” on the bathroom vanity, place “I’m reliable” on the refrigerator and so on…You are what you ‘feed’ yourself spiritually speaking. Exchange the “everything I hate about myself” mantra to “all the qualities that make me a special, unique, lovable person.” Make Plans When a person is depressed the only place he or she wants to be is in bed, preferably under the covers with the shades drawn. Lifting up the phone to hear a friendly voice, much less having plans outside the bare minimum (work, school, grocery store) feels way too difficult. The Internet has made it dangerously seductive to keep to oneself. Studies show that limiting social media to approximately 30 minutes a day decreases depression. I tell patients, “It’s a catch-22 that when you are depressed the last thing you feel like doing is getting out of the house. But it’s essential to make the effort to take a shower, get dressed, take a walk, go to the gym, and socialize.” For months I would ask *Gina near the end of our Saturday afternoon session: “What are you doing after you leave here?” Gina, who lived alone invariably mumbled, “I’m going home to do laundry.” I started ordering her to have something specific planned post-session. She began joining meet-ups (“Wow, ballroom dancing is kind of fun!”), visiting the botanical garden, baking cookies with her sister… The more she ventured outside her four walls, the more her mood lifted. Find Something to Look Forward To This is a technique I routinely use as an anti-blues vaccination. (I’ve shared that I suffer from High Functioning Depression.) When I’m down I search for something to put on the calendar that makes me happy and excited. Indeed, this 2007 study showed that people get an emotional lift when they contemplate a future fun event, versus looking back on a fabulous activity from the past. Book a trip, buy concert tickets, plan a party—whatever brings a flush to your cheeks and rumble of joy to your belly. My biggest mood-turnarounds arise when I begin a project that can potentially create some good in the world and lead to fulfilling connections. For example, I’ve volunteered as a mentor to underserved young women who want to write, sought publishing contracts to write a book, taught workshops, submitted a video to do a TedX talk (haven’t heard back on that one yet!). The point is: stop continually telling yourself nothing good will ever again happen—you’ve been there, seen that, done that.

US carries out air strikes on Taliban in Helmand The United States carried out several airstrikes against Taliban fighters in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province, the spokesman for the US military in Afghanistan said on Monday. The United States carried out several airstrikes against Taliban fighters in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province, the spokesman for the US military in Afghanistan said on Monday. The strikes, carried out over the last two days, mark a rare military intervention by the US since it signed an agreement on troop withdrawal with the Taliban in February. Col Sonny Leggett, the spokesman for the US military in Afghanistan, on Twitter confirmed that the American forces conducted over the past couple days several airstrikes in support of Afghan security force under attack by Taliban in the southern Helmand province. Legget also said that the strikes over the past two days in Helmand did not violate the US-Taliban agreement signed in February. "Over the past two days USFOR-A has conducted several targeted strikes in Helmand to defend ANDSF forces under attack by Taliban fighters, consistent with the US-Taliban agrmnt. USFOR-A has & will continue to provide support in defense of the ANDSF under attack by the Taliban," Col Sonny Leggett tweeted. "The Taliban need to immediately stop their offensive actions in Helmand Province and reduce their violence around the country. It is not consistent with the US-Taliban agreement and undermines the ongoing Afghan Peace Talks," Leggett, in another tweet, said quoting Gen Scott Miller, the Commander of the US Forces in Afghanistan.
