The recently launched AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D has been tested on an A620 motherboard and delivers just as good gaming performance as an X670. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Delivers The Same Performance In Gaming Whether It's Running On An X670 or A620 Motherboard The launch reviews of the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU mostly paired it with a high-end X670-class motherboard which makes sense from a performance evaluation perspective since we reviewers try to showcase the best possible performance that you can achieve on a stock and overclocked chip. However, the 7800X3D is targeted at pure gamers, and given its class-leading efficiency and gaming performance, the majority of users will call it day by putting it on a B650 or A620 board. But how well does the chip perform on an AMD A620 motherboard? This question has now been answered by Korean YouTuber, 민티저, who used Gigabyte's A620 Gaming X motherboard to see how well the Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU did. The performance was compared between a high-end X670 motherboard and the aforementioned A620 motherboard. The results are below: In terms of gaming performance, there was virtually no difference between the Ryzen 7 7800X3D running on an X670 or a low-end A620 motherboard. In fact, the biggest performance variable was around 2% which is within the margin of error, and at FHD, the chip runs just as well on a $300 US+ motherboard as it would on a ~$100 US design. However, the Gigabyte A620, despite having a better VRM supply than most other A620 offerings, led to large clock disparities. Where the X670 board managed to hold the chip at a constant clock speed of 4.8 GHz across all cores in Cinebench, the A620 board had the CPU fluctuating between 4.5-4.7 GHz clocks. You can see in the video that the CPU is running with lower power & the temps are also slightly higher. Now while this would lead to performance degradation of close to 4.5% in multi-threaded apps such as Cinebench R23, it won't affect gaming much. AMD already disclosed during the 1st Gen Ryzen 3D V-Cache launch that they were willing to cut frequencies to provide a higher thermal & power headroom to the V-Cache since it offered a bigger boost in gaming performance and more or less compensated for the lower clocks.Since the 7800X3D is a pure gaming chip, it will work well with an A620 board, and even the multi-core performance difference of 5% isn't that concerning since you are also paying several hundred dollars less versus a higher-end X670 board. Some vendors such as MSI even have Enhanced boost profiles using PBO 2 that can eliminate these clock disparities and even deliver better gaming and application performance as demonstrated by the company here (this feature is also available on A620 boards from MSI). The AMD A620 platform is designed with 65W CPUs in mind and considering just how well the Ryzen 7 7800X3D does around 50W in gaming, it should be a match made in heaven for budget gamers. It looks like those who prefer overclocking and higher-end chips still have good reason to invest in a high-end B650/X670-class motherboard, especially if you want expanded I/O. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D does have good OC potential though as demonstrated by Skatterbencher. The CPU has also secured top-spot in weekly sales at German retailer MindFactory, blowing past its predecessor, the 5800X3D which is super impressive. https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d-cpu-performs-just-as-well-on-an-a620-motherboard-as-x670-in-gaming/

Tekken game director and producer Katsuhiro Harada has confirmed that the upcoming Tekken 8 will support cross-platform play.Harada said a much on Twitter when asked about Tekken 8 crossplay. In addition to confirming that the game will support crossplay between the different platforms, the game director also explained the lack of cross-platform play in 2017's Tekken 7. We're pretty sure that fans will be delighted by this news as this confirms that PC and console (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) players will be able to fight against each other. "Crossplay? Of course, I will", Harada wrote on Twitter. As said, in the same tweet, Harada also mentioned the absence of crossplay on Tekken 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. According to the game director, he actually proposed crossplay between the "two" platforms (likely mentioning PS4 and Xbox One), but Sony and Microsoft did not agree with each other about crossplay at that time.In a follow-up tweet, Harada further explained that, some years ago, although Sony and Microsoft said to be open to supporting cross-play, this wasn't really made easy for third-party games. As of now, cross-platform play is made easier between PlayStation and Xbox, although there are still some fences left. "Remember when they announced they were open to crossplay a few years ago?", the producer wrote. "But in reality, they didn't actively support third parties at the time, and the hurdles were actually quite high. There are still some problems left, but it will be possible."Announced in 2018 for the next-gen consoles and PC, Tekken 8 is being "built from the ground up for next-gen platforms", and will be using Epic's Unreal Engine 5. A release date has yet to be announced, but as can be read in our preview article, an imminent release seems far off at this point. "The changes to visual design aren’t the only major ones coming to Tekken 8 (Paul Phoenix’s change in hairstyle remains another obvious change)", Kai Powell wrote in his preview. "All new comeback mechanics and ways to press the advantage are coming to Tekken 8 by way of a system that evolved from the Rage system introduced in Tekken 6. The addition of recoverable or white gauge health may be new to mainline Tekken (not counting the red health from the Tekken Tag Tournament spinoff) but has been a common feature in Street Fighter titles for more than two decades among other signature fighting game entries." https://wccftech.com/tekken-8-crossplay/

Those hungry for some good old-fashioned 90s-style real-time-strategy action ought to be keeping an eye on Tempest Rising. Announced last year, Tempest Rising comes from Slipgate Ironworks (Rise of the Triad, Ghostrunner, Graven) and looks to be shaping up rather well. But don’t take my word for it – today, nearly 20 minutes of new Tempest Rising 1v1 multiplayer gameplay was shared, showing off base building, combat, and more. Check the footage out for yourself, below. It seems like one of the biggest things setting Tempest Rising apart is the titular Tempest itself, a mysterious vine you’ll need to harvest in order to build up your base and forces. You’ll actually have to pay attention to the Tempest vine’s ecology, carefully maintaining it order to maintain your advantage over your opponent. Otherwise, this looks like classic RTS action in the vein of Starcraft or Command & Conquer. In the video above, we see the Global Defense Forces take on the Tempest Dynasty (there’s also a third faction that Slipgate isn’t detailing yet) with both sides having their own unique weaponry and advantages. Overall the game’s UI and visuals look solid, and the action is intense without being quite as frantic as something like Starcraft.Need to know more? Here’s a bit more official information about Tempest Rising… "Take on the role of Commander in the highly mobile and advanced peacekeeping corps of the Global Defense Forces or the hard-hitting and desperate Tempest Dynasty in 2 15-mission campaigns that allow the player to customize their army for each mission, as both armies seek to understand and control the mysterious but beneficial Tempest vines that grow unchecked across the war-torn planet Earth. Other dangers wait in the shadows, as the origin of the Tempest is revealed." Features Classic RTS base building with fast and fluid hard-hitting combat. 3 asymmetrical playable factions, each featuring distinct economy and play styles. Each faction offers a unique roster of units. 2 epic single player campaigns with between-mission cutscenes. Skirmish, custom games, and ranked multiplayer matchmaking with Elo rating. Tempest Rising is coming to PC sometime in 2023. Slipgate Ironworks to roll out more info soon. https://wccftech.com/tempest-rising-multiplayer-footage-base-building-combat/

AMD motherboard partners seem to be offering custom-made B665 mainstream workstation AM5 motherboards to select cloud servers. One such cloud server operation is Hetzner which is based in Germany and two such motherboards that they are running have been discovered by Der8auer. First Look At AMD AM5 & B665-Chipset Powered Mainstream Workstation Motherboards From ASRock & ASUS We know that Intel has a mainstream workstation lineup based on the W680 which supports both Intel 12th Gen Xeon CPUs. There's also the newest W790 platform which now serves the same CPU segment. AMD has had its socketed and embedded workstation families for entry-level users and the most recent platform uses the B650/B650E chipset with Gigabyte and others offering a range of options. ASUS Pro WS 665-ACE AM5 Motherboard (Image Credits: Der8auer): It looks like some motherboard vendors have also taken custom orders from leading smaller cloud & data center providers and manufactured completely new boards which utilize the B665 chipset. It is highly likely that this is a rebranding of the B650 chipset though there might be some underlying changes. ASRock Rack B665D4U-1L Motherboard (Image Credits: Der8auer): The two motherboards include the ASUS Pro WS 665-ACE and the ASRock Rack B6654DU-1L. These boards aren't meant for the DIY segment and orders or at least 1000 units have to be made before these can be produced before a specific customer. What these boards have in common is that they come with an inverted socket which is rotated by a 90-degree angle. The DDR5 DIMM slots are top-sided and the VRM position is downwards instead of sideways. The motherboards come with a tiny VRM/PCH heatsink & have the most necessary I/O that is required for entry-level workstation uses. Now interestingly, the reason for the inverted socket doesn't seem to be for signal integrity which is usually the case on higher-end boards such as the EVGA Z790 Classified where DDR5 overclocking takes first priority but instead, the design is chosen for cooling purposes. It is said that workstation coolers, which mostly use a passive design, can benefit from the longer air passage that is possible only if you mount it sideways on an inverted socket. This can lead to 2-3C lower temps. The design is also used to save costs and you can find that both boards still come with a DEBUG LED. Now this may be done due to the necessity of such a diagnostic window in a workstation environment but it also begs the question, if these motherboards that are designed with cost-effectiveness can house a DEBUG LED, why not entry-level consumer motherboards? Finally, in terms of CPU support, since entry-level cloud and data center workstation PCs have to amount the power costs, these motherboards only support chips with a maximum TDP of 90W so even though the board supports a 170W Ryzen 9 7950X CPU, it will only run at 90W which means that 65W Ryzen CPUs are the most ideal choice for these motherboards and that has been a case with the older AM4 options too. https://wccftech.com/amd-b665-chipset-powered-mainstream-workstation-am5-motherboards-from-asus-asrock-pictured/

With the Dungeons and Dragons craze reignited thanks to the successful and highly enjoyable movie currently in theaters, it is a great time to remind players of Solasta: Crown of the Magister. The tactical RPG released by Paris-based studio Tactical Adventures in May 2021 may not be as famous as Larian's Baldur's Gate 3, but many D&D fans swear it is the most faithful and complete videogame adaptation of Dungeons and Dragons' Systems Reference Document (SRD) 5.1. In the nearly two years since its debut, Solasta: Crown of the Magister has received many updates and improvements through patches and DLCs. Whereas it launched with just seven classes, the DLCs have added another five classes, not to mention new races, subclasses, spells, feats, monsters, and new story content. There's even more coming soon, as the Palace of Ice DLC due in May will add another 25 hours worth of campaign content, brand new locations and weather effects, two new races (Gnomes and Tieflings), and several new enemy types, items, spells, et cetera. With the Palace of Ice DLC and the second anniversary coming up soon, we've partnered with Tactical Adventures to give away 15 Steam codes for the base game (currently priced at $39.99 in the store). Just enter the raffle via the Gleam box below for a chance to win; we'll select the winners in a month. Good luck! Solasta: Crown of the Magister received a 7.5 out of 10 rating in Wccftech's launch review by Francesco De Meo. With its extremely faithful rendition of the Dungeons & Dragons 5e ruleset, Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a dream come true for all those D&D fans who also happen to love video games. However, strict adherence to this ruleset is also the game's main flaw, as it results in an overwhelming experience for all those who do not live and breathe Dungeons & Dragons. Those who power through the initial difficulties, though, will find a solid cRPG featuring great tactical combat and amazing depth. On top of the official campaigns, the game also features an extensive dungeon maker tool (which will be further improved in the Palace of Ice DLC) that the community has used to create dozens of dungeons and even full-fledged custom campaigns. You can find them on po[CENSORED]r mod websites, such as Nexus Mods, Mod.io, and Steam Workshop. There's also a massive community mod called Unfinished Business that adds even more subclasses, features, and customization options. https://wccftech.com/solasta-crown-of-the-magister-pc-giveaway-join-for-a-chance-to-get-this-faithful-dd-5th-edition-rpg/

The latest benchmarks of AMD's Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU have been leaked which show up to 12% faster performance versus the stock chip. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU Gets 12% Gaming Performance Boost With Enhanced Boost & High-Efficiency Mode Tuning Options on MSI's AM5 Motherboards The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is going to be the true successor to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which has been a hot gaming chip ever since it launched in retail. This CPU is going to be the ideal choice for gamers with 8 cores, 16 threads, and the same 104 MB of cache (32 MB CCD, 64 MB V-Cache + 8 MB L2). The CPU comes with a base clock of around 4 GHz which could end up at least 500 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X and a boost clock of 5.0 GHz which is 400 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7 7700X. In benchmarks leaked by chi11eddog, we see that the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU was tested on an MSI X670E Tomahawk WIFI motherboard with the v122 BIOS. The motherboard ran a pair of Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000 memory, an MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming Trio GPU, and used the MSI Coreliquid S360 AIO for cooling. The latest version of Windows 11 (22H2) was used for testing. The performance of the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 3D V-Cache CPU was tested in various settings such as Stock, EXPO, EXPO with High-Efficiency Mode, and EXPO with both High-Efficiency Mode and the Enhanced Mode Boost 3 profiles. These Enhanced Mode Boost 3 and High-Efficiency Mode are only available on the MSI X670E high-end motherboards and the performance differences show a 9-12% boost over the stock chip at 1440p using Max quality. A range of games are tested which are shown in the chart below: Following are the results for the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (stock vs tuned) across each of the games tested: F1 2022: 0% Improvement Shadow of The Tomb Raider: Up To 5% Faster Metro Exodus: Up To 5% Faster Red Dead Redemption 2: Up To 1% Faster Watch Dogs Legion: Up To 9% Faster Assassins Creed Valhalla: Up To 1% Faster Far Cry 6: Up To 6.5% Faster Final Fantasy XIV: Up To 5% Faster As you can see, moving over to the EXPO profile does give a small boost in performance but using all three tuning options on the motherboard delivers the best results. Even at 1440p with a high-end GPU such as the RTX 4090, users will be able to get some decent 5% gains on average which are better than nothing. This would further increase the performance over the existing 5800X3D and Intel's flagship Core i9-13900K which the chip is positioned against in terms of gaming perf.Furthermore, we have learned that MSI will be introducing a new feature on its motherboards that will drastically reduce the boot time for the AMD AM5 platform running Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs. We have been told that this new feature will cut the boot time from 5X seconds to just 2X (~23sec) seconds. This is very impressive stuff coming from AMD. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D launches on the 6th of April which is just two days away. https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d-cpu-shows-up-to-12-percent-faster-gaming-performance-versus-stock-with-enhanced-boost-high-efficiency-mode/

There's no doubt of NVIDIA's po[CENSORED]rity among gamers and that can be seen on Steam's Hardware Survey where GeForce GPUs continue to secure the top spot as the most po[CENSORED]r options with the latest statistics showing the RTX 3060 as the top choice. NVIDIA GeForce GPU Market Share Continues To Rise Against AMD Radeon In Steam As RTX 3060 Becomes The Most Po[CENSORED]r Graphics Card As per the latest Steam Hardware Survey figures of March 2023, NVIDIA commands 82.63% of the share while AMD commands just 10.82% share amongst almost 135 Million users of which around 26-27 Million users were actively concurrently (at its peak). If you look at the more detailed figures, the vast majority of these GPUs are now DX12 compliant (94.47%), and full DX12 systems running a modern-day GPU now amount to 76.15% share. This aligns with the operating systems used by the gamers as 73.95% of Steam's userbase is now running a Windows 10 64-bit while 22.41% are running Windows 11 64-bit. Considering that Steam has officially announced the end of support for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 systems, they're now meant to go on a decline as users upgrade to the latest OS.So coming back to GPUs, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 has now replaced the GTX 1650 as the most po[CENSORED]r graphics card on the platform. This means that a vast majority of gamers are running this graphics card on their PC. A 10.67% share is also much higher than that of 1650 which had a 6.12% share by the end of February 2023. The most important thing to note here is the pricing of the card which is also much higher than 1650. This shows that gamers are willing to pay for a higher-end and costly graphics card if it provides value and given just how many RTX 3060s were dumped into the used market and discounted after the crypto crash, this was to be expected. Over the years, we have seen the NVIDIA 70, 60, and 50-tier cards be the most po[CENSORED]r solutions on the market. The GeForce GTX 970 was the last 70-series card to take the top spot and that was all the way back in 2016. Since then, cards such as the GTX 1060, RTX 2060, GTX 1650/1660, and now the RTX 3060 have been the most po[CENSORED]r options.Even higher-end cards such as the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 show up in the top-10 list. None of AMD's modern-day GPUs show up in the Steam Hardware Survey but NVIDIA's RTX 4090 do show up though they are definitely not going to show up at the top any time soon as they are more recent releases and will take years (like the RTX 30 series) to make their way to the top spot. Other interesting statistics show that Intel leads in terms of CPU usage compared to AMD. The blue team has a 74.46% share compared to AMD's 25.54%. If you look at the core-count distribution, the 6-core, 10-core, and 12-core CPUs are on the rise but 8-core CPUs have remained flat this month. It is likely that 8-core chips don't offer as much value as they once used to but at the same time, chips such as the 5800X3D have been selling like hotcakes though that is but just one processor. https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-is-now-the-most-po[CENSORED]r-gpu-on-steam/

This Monday, CAPCOM stock reached its all-time high record at 4,865 yen, as noted in a tweet by Japanese gaming market analyst Serkan Toto.CAPCOM shares opened at 4,780 today and have now slightly decreased to 4,840, which is still a 2.22% increase. As you can see from the chart, the Japanese publisher and developer has been mostly on a roll over the past few years, owing to a long string of successful game releases.Around seven years ago, things were much different. In 2016, CAPCOM released the Resident Evil Origins Collection, a rather low-effort compilation of Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero remasters; Street Fighter V, which was supposed to take the world of fighting games by storm but largely failed due to scarce single player content and poor performance during online multiplayer matches; Umbrella Corps, a generic third-person shooter that even the Resident Evil IP couldn't save from being thoroughly panned by critics and fans alike; and Dead Rising 4, which while decent couldn't save CAPCOM Vancouver from being closed less than two years after its release due to poor sales and the cancellation of the studio's next projects. The rise of the famed developer began in early 2017 with the release of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, which is largely credited as the spark that reignited CAPCOM's creativity. The developers took a gamble, moving their prized survival horror IP to a completely different playstyle and setting. For the first time in the series, players didn't take charge of a trained cop or member of the special forces but of an ordinary guy who, while desperately looking for his missing wife, finds himself living a nightmare in a godforsaken, sun-drenched spot in Louisiana. Amping up the horror factor was the choice to abandon the third-person camera in favor of first-person view. The risk paid off. The game sold well and was hailed as a return to form for the developer, delivering a momentum that even the stumble of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite couldn't break. Then, in early 2018, CAPCOM found itself an even bigger golden goose with Monster Hunter: World, which over time became the best-selling game ever made by the Japanese studio. Previously only po[CENSORED]r in Japan, World made the franchise far more accessible and palatable to Western audiences. The rest, as they say, is history. Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 3, Monster Hunter Rise, Resident Evil Village, and last but certainly not least, the Resident Evil 4 remake that just sold over three million copies in two mere days since its launch. Looking ahead, Street Fighter 6 is poised to redeem even the legendary fighting franchise, at least according to the preview impressions. On the other hand, the next CAPCOM game (Exoprimal) may turn out to be less than successful. The Japanese publisher was savvy enough to partially insulate itself from the risk by taking Microsoft's money and putting it on Game Pass from day one, though. Then again, not every game can be a hit, and investors are clearly bullish on the company's future prospects, which also include a brand new sci-fi IP (Pragmata, originally scheduled for 2022 but later moved to 2023 and possibly due for another delay given the absence of communication) and the long-awaited Dragon's Dogma 2 by Hideaki Itsuno, which could be another megahit in the making for CAPCOM if it adds online co-op play as most fans are hoping for. https://wccftech.com/capcom-stock-soars-to-all-time-high-after-re4-remake-is-the-latest-in-a-seemingly-unending-string-of-success/
