Samsung promised last year that it will launch other models of devices in the FE version, cheaper alternatives for those who want high-performance Galaxy phones at lower prices. So far, I have only seen a Galaxy S20 FE, still a very easy phone to recommend, due to the very good performance / price ratio, and the recently launched Galaxy Tab S7 FE tablet. It seems that a Galaxy S21 FE will be announced in the near future, and the first images with the device have already reached the internet.
Galaxy S21 FE has a familiar design
Galaxy S21 was a transition to a new design for the camera, and Galaxy S21 FE will keep this design, which extends the frame around the case, above the camera. Unlike the standard S21 model, the S21 FE will keep the color of the plastic cover on the back on the camera module. The results are not exactly bad from a visual point of view, but the colors are similar to what we saw recently on the Galaxy A52 and A72 models. The source is, of course, Evan Blass, a well-known leaker in the industry.
In terms of hardware, minor changes are expected. The phone could use a 6.41 ”AMOLED screen at 120 Hz with a 32 megapixel front camera. It could be delivered in two variants, with 128 or 256 GB and a 4,500 mAh battery. As with the Galaxy S20 FE, the phone could only use a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 888 this time. The only real limitation compared to a standard S21 would be the RAM of only 6 GB.
The phone is expected to go into production in July, and will be launched sometime in the latter part of the year. Rumors spoke of a revelation at the launch event in August, where announcements related to the Galaxy Z series, models with foldable screens, are expected. Last year's S20 FE was launched at a dedicated online event.
