That's the plan for Ape Out's ape, and it's pretty much the whole plan. After the first human goes splat, the percussive jazz kicks in, and the dizzying improv violence session is on—just keep running and always be splatting. While Ape Out starts to drag after the first couple acts, it's hard to put down anyway, because it looks, sounds and feels so consistently cool. As the ape, you charge across procedurally-generated mazes from a top-down view, shoving, grabbing, and tossing the human-shaped enemies in your way. It's like a twin-stick shooter, where one analog stick controls movement and the other rotation, but your guns are your biceps. I preferred the mouse and keyboard controls, where WASD moves and the mouse controls the direction I'm facing, the same way I played Hotline Miami. Left click shoves enemies with brutal force. Into a wall and they'll splat, and into another enemy of the same size or smaller they'll both splat. With a right click, you can instead grab and hold onto any enemy. Shortly after, they'll fire their weapon away from you, so you can use them to shoot their friends before left clicking to chuck them into walls or each other. It's a bit funny to go from shoving people into pillars like a high school bully (who's a gorilla) to deliberate, tactical use of a human shield, and that tension between recklessness and planning runs throughout Ape Out. At times it helps vary the pace, but it also relates to Ape Out's biggest flaws. Ape Out is so thunderously stylish and thematically strong that I like it even though it loses its thrust so quickly. It evokes anxiety and fear with brutal efficiency, so if you've ever wanted to feel like a cornered animal—or me whenever someone asks me a direct personal question—here's your chance. The first GTR version of the Senna, unveiled a year ago, was a concept. R. Kelly has been released from jail in Chicago after the $161,000 (£122,000) he owed in child support was paid. The Cook County sheriff's office said the money was paid on Saturday morning and he was set free shortly afterwards. It is unclear who made the singer's payment. The embattled US R&B artist was last month charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, involving four alleged victims, three of whom were minors. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was released on bail after spending three nights in jail. If convicted, he faces three to seven years in prison on each charge. He was taken back into custody on Wednesday after failing to pay child support. As he walked out of jail on Saturday, CNN reported him as saying: "We're going to straighten all this stuff out." The singer had been prepared to pay up to $60,000 of what he owed to his former wife, Andrea Kelly, and their three children, but the judge had required the full amount and ordered him detained. The singer's defence attorney had previously said the singer was having financial difficulties and his finances were a "mess". R. IC Insights has published a report, stating their findings where they believe Intel to regain the #1 spot in Semi-Supplier companies. Intel held the no. 1 spot for almost 23 years (1883 through 2016) and lost it in 2017, but it looks like that is about to change again this year. The source in question is a very reliable market research firm with a long history of accurate and precise findings. Intel will regain its position as top dog in semiconductor supply in 2019 as competitors take hits due to the DRAM lull. Intel have been facing increased pressure in the last couple of years to improve power by watt consumption in their processor line. With ARM chips expected in Apple laptops in 2020, there has been pressure for Intel to regain their footing. IC Insights is a company that deals in market research, and on Thursday they brought out the ‘2019 McClean Report’, dealing in the market trends of the semiconductor industry. In this report, they stated that Intel is ‘the company that is poised to regain the number 1 semiconductor supplier ranking this year’. The last few years of the report have had the company wrestling for the top spot with Samsung, and now, gaining an expected seventy billion in sales, they have trounced Samsung’s expected sixty-three billion in sales to take the top spot this year. The report mentions that a 24% drop in the memory market will pull the overall semiconductor market down by about 7% but Intel will be able to handle this drop better than its competitors and use this to regain the no.1 spot. Samsung is going to take the brunt of this drop with its sales down 20% this year. The company expects Intel to have $70.6 billion in sales and Samsung to have $63.1 billion in sales. In fact, IC Insights expects more than 20% sales decline for major memory suppliers like SK Hynix, Micron and Toshiba. Intel, on the other hand, will actually be in the positive at 1%. So with the semiconductor part of the company, this report will hopefully subside some of the processor worries for the first half of this year. The report also stated that ‘volatile IC industry cycles are alive and well in the memory market’, with prices expected to be as competitive as they were in 2017. Time will tell whether Intel’s ranking will stay at #1 towards the end of the year, but with Intel about to have its quarterly meeting, questions will be asked as to whether they have a definite plan to hold onto the top spot for 2019. Linus Torvalds has squeezed out version 5.0 of the Linux kernel and flung open the merge window for its follow-up, 5.1. In the post announcing the arrival, Torvalds was at pains to point out that feature-based releases really aren't a thing and the 5.0 "doesn't mean anything more than that the 4.x numbers started getting big enough that I ran out of fingers and toes". However, there is actually much to delight Linux lovers in the release, which had been known as "4.21" before Torvalds' fingers and toes moment. AMD FreeSync support will bring a smile to owners of high-end Radeon graphics cards, while those with deep enough pockets to afford Nvidia's Turing cards (the GeForce RTX 20 series and their ilk) now have some early support (although will likely have to grit their teeth and sully their systems with Nvidia's proprietary driver for a little longer). As well as maker-pleasing support for Raspberry Pi touchscreens, there has also been a number of CPU enhancements, including some early work around AMD's Ryzen processors. Is that you, 488? This is the new Ferrari F8 Tributo, the latest in a long line of V8 coupes and the usurper to the GTB’s crown. It graces Ferrari’s stand at the 2019 Geneva motor show. What does the name mean? Well, it’s a, er, tribute to Ferrari’s epic turbo V8 – an engine that has won Engine of the Year in 2016, 2017 and 2018, with the Pista’s version recently winning ‘best engine of the last two decades.’ So, naturally, Ferrari wanted to pat itself on the back for a job well done. The Tributo has 710bhp from its 3.9-litre turbo V8 and is around 40kg lighter than the 488 GTB it replaces. It’s capable of a 0-62mph sprint in just 2.9sec and a 124mph is over with in 7.8sec, maxing out at 211mph. Aero is said to be around 10% better than the 488, with the Pista’s S-Duct that’s present and correct providing around 15% of the total aerodynamic improvement alone. Slimmer headlights allow for fatter brake cooling ducts and there are nods to the F40 via rear heat soaks. The father of Jihadi bride Shamima Begum today blamed the UK authorities for letting her flee to Syria. Ahmed Ali claimed the teenager did not have a passport when she left her home in Bethnal Green at the age of 15 to marry an ISIS fighter. She is now in a refugee camp in Syria and wants to return to the UK with her baby. In an interview from his home in Bangladesh, Mr Ali, 60, said: “The British immigration system is very informed, the most informed system in the world. I always say how did (Shamima) get there using another one’s passport? She doesn’t even have her own passport. These matters should be investigated.” He also renewed calls for the government to allow his daughter to return to the UK to face punishment. British Home Secretary Sajid Javid has revoked her citizenship. Mr Ali, who lives in the northeastern Bangladeshi district of Sunamganj with his second wife, suggested that his daughter should return to the UK and if she has committed a crime, be punished here. He said: "My child was only 15 years old when she fled, she was immature. I would ask the British government not to cancel her citizenship, to return her citizenship, and if she is guilty, bring her back to Britain and give her punishment there." Mr Ali said he first moved to England in 1975 but then returned to his village in Bangladesh to marry his first wife, Asma Begum, in 1990. The couple, who returned to England, had four daughters with Shamima being the youngest. The 60-year-old later returned to Bangladesh and got married for a second time. Most recently, he came to live in Bangladesh two months ago to escape the UK winter. Google has officially released its Edge TPU (TPU stands for tensor processing unit) processors in its new Coral development board and USB accelerator. The Edge TPU is Google’s inference-focused application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) that targets low-power “edge” devices and complements the company’s “Cloud TPU,” which targets data centers. Coral Dev Board With Edge TPU Last July, Google announced that it’s working on a low-power version of its Cloud TPU to cater to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The Edge TPU’s main promise is to free IoT devices from cloud dependence when it comes to intelligent analysis of data. For instance, a surveillance camera would no longer need to identify objects it sees in real-time through cloud analysis and could instead do so on its own, locally, thanks to the Edge TPU. Google has now made available for developers a Raspberry Pi-style development board that comes with a quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU, an Arm Cortex-M4F real-time core and a Vivante GC7000 Lite GPU -- all of which are connected to Google’s Edge TPU co-processor, capable of up to 4 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The board also ships with 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 8GB of eMMC (embedded MultiMediaCard) memory, Wi-Fi 2×2 MIMO (802.11b/g/n/ac 2.4/5GHz bands) and Bluetooth 4.1. Google's TPUs Back in 2016, Google surprised the world with its own machine learning-focused processor called a “tensor processing unit." According to Google, the TPU was up to 30 times faster and more efficient than other CPUs and GPUs for certain po[CENSORED]r machine learning training and inference applications. Later on, Nvidia also started integrating “tensor cores” into its GPUs, shrinking the disparity between the two architecture types significantly.
