  3. Intel has stopped its plans for the second-generation Omni-Path Architecture fabric for high-performance computing (HPC), known as the OPA200 series, which the company announced last year. The company will continue to support OPA100, although its availability has reportedly changed to build-to-order, but the future of Omni-Path looks bleak. Intel told this to CRN on Wednesday after CRN received comments from two solution providers that Intel had informed some partners of its cancellation. Jennifer Huffstetler, vice president of data center product management and storage, confirmed the news to CRN with the following statement: “We see connectivity as a critical pillar in delivering the performance and scalability for a modern data center. We're continuing our investment there while we will no longer support the Omni-Path 200 series. We are continuing to see uptake in the HPC portfolio for OPA100.” If you wanna read more, please visit : click ! Article created by „tomshardware”.

  5. Memory vendor G.Skill has expanded its Trident Z Neo family with two new DDR4-3800 CL14 memory kits, which are fine-tuned for AMD's third-generation Ryzen desktop CPUs. The latest Trident Z Neo memory kits come in 16GB (2x 8GB) and 32GB (4 x8GB) capacities. Both kits respect JEDEC's DDR4-2133 baseline out of the box. However, they are binned to run at 3,800 MHz with impressive CL14-16-16-36 timings. As you might be able to deduce by the memory speed and CL timings, these Trident Z Neo use Samsung B-die chips. G.Skill didn't specify the operating voltage for the Trident Z Neo DDR4-3800 kits in today's announcements, and the corresponding products pages were not yet live at the time of writing. However, the provided screenshots point to 1.5V. As with any G.Skill memory product, the Trident Z Neo memory kits support the XMP 2.0 (Extreme Memory Profile) standard and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. 8. A recent EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) listing has revealed a multitude of unannounced third-generation Ryzen desktop processors, which includes the Ryzen 9 3900, Ryzen 7 3700, Ryzen 5 3500 and three other Ryzen 3000-series Pro chips. As with all preliminary listings, these could merely be placeholders that reflect certain models that AMD may or may not bring to market. The Ryzen 3000-series family currently consists of six members starting from the Ryzen 5 3600 hexa-core part up to the flagship Ryzen 9 3950X 16-core chip. New evidence has emerged that suggests AMD could capitalize on the Ryzen 3000-series' traction and release a couple more SKUs to fill the price gap. The mainstream line allegedly gets the Ryzen 9 3900, Ryzen 7 3700 and Ryzen 5 3500. If you wanna read more, please visit : click !
  9. The US Supreme Court has said that President Donald Trump can use $2.5bn (£2bn) of Pentagon funds for a section of wall on the southern border. The court ruled by five votes to four to block a ruling by a federal judge in California that barred the president from spending the money on the wall. The wall, dividing the US and Mexico, was Mr Trump's major campaign promise during the 2016 election. It is fiercely opposed by Democrats. The decision by the Supreme Court means that the money will be used for wall projects in California, Arizona and New Mexico. The court in California had argued that Congress had not specifically authorised the funds to be used for constructing the wall. If you wanna read more, please visit : click !

    RTX 2080

It's been over two weeks since Nvidia launched its RTX 2060 Super and 2070 Super GPUs, but Nvidia still has one left to launch: The 2080 Super. We heard about all of these GPUs in June from publications that specialize in leaks like Videocardz, and so far most of those leaks and predictions have panned out. It's not surprising then that we're finally seeing some benchmarks of the 2080 Super, which is rumored to launch on the 23rd at $699. The benchmark submission in question comes from the Final Fantasy XV Benchmark database, which has listed other pre-release GPUs in the past. While the 2060 Super and 2070 Super were significantly faster than their predecessors, the 2080 Super only scored 8% higher than the original 2080 in the FFXV benchmark. The 2080 Ti clearly remains the fastest GPU for gaming, being about 14% faster than the 2080 Super in this benchmark. If you wanna read more please visit : click !

    Paint.NET

Paint.NET is an image and photo manipulation application. Every feature and user interface element was designed to be immediately intuitive and quickly learnable without assistance. In order to handle multiple images easily, Paint.NET uses a tabbed document interface. The tabs display a live thumbnail of the image instead of a text description. This makes navigation very simple and fast. Usually only found on expensive or complicated professional software, layers form the basis for a rich image composition experience. You may think of them as a stack of transparency slides that, when viewed together at the same time, form one image. Many special effects are included for enhancing and perfecting your images. Everything from blurring, sharpening, red-eye removal, distortion, noise, and embossing are included. Also included is our unique 3D Rotate/Zoom effect that makes it very easy to add perspective and tilting. Adjustments are also included which help you tweak an image's brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, curves, and levels. You can also convert an image to black and white, or sepia-toned. https://www.getpaint.net/index.html

  18. US regulators have approved a record $5bn (£4bn) fine on Facebook to settle an investigation into data privacy violations, reports in US media say. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has been investigating allegations that political consultancy Cambridge Analytica improperly obtained the data of up to 87 million Facebook users. The settlement was approved by the FTC in a 3-2 vote, sources told US media. Facebook and the FTC told the BBC they had no comment on the reports. How was the settlement reached? The consumer protection agency the FTC began investigating Facebook in March 2018 following reports that Cambridge Analytica had accessed the data of tens of millions of its users. The investigation focused on whether Facebook had violated a 2011 agreement under which it was required to clearly notify users and gain "express consent" to share their data. The $5bn fine was approved by the FTC in a 3-2 vote which broke along party lines, with Republican commissioners in favour and Democrats opposed. If you wanna read more, please visit : click !

  20. Silicon start-up Tachyum has completed a Series-A funding roundthat has given it a $25 million war chest. The company unveiled its Prodigy Universal Processor family last year at Hot Chips and plans to tape out the chip this year with a launch in the second half of 2020. It claims the chips outperform CPUs, GPUs, and TPUs, all while still being programmable like a CPU and consuming 10x less power. Tachyum makes impressive claims for its Prodigy line-up that it claims are faster than Xeon and smaller than ARM chips. It claims higher IPC than the Skylake architecture (which is found in all of Intel’s Core chips since late 2015), and in a much smaller chip, too. Built on TSMC’s high-performance 7nm process, like AMD’s Zen 2 family, the 64-core die measures just 290mm2. For comparison, AMD’s Rome has eight 8-core chiplets of 74mm2 for 592mm2, and also a large accompanying I/O die, totaling over 1000mm2 of silicon real estate for the 64-core product. Furthermore, the chip has 8-channel DDR5 support and 72 PCIe 5.0 lanes, it supports 2x 400G Ethernet and HBM3 is optional. The chip is a bit lacking on the cache front, though, with just 32MB of fully coherent L2/L3 cache, but that is understandable given its small die size. That shouldn’t take away from its performance: despite packing 64 cores, they should run at an impressive 4GHz frequency, even during HPC and AI workloads, with just 180W of power consumption. Like Skylake-SP and Cascade Lake-SP, Prodigy has two 512-bit vector (floating-point) units per core, twice the width of Zen 2. If you wanna read more, visit : click !
