  1. Lenovo's Legion Go S is said to feature the AMD Ryzen Z2 SoCs while being priced at 600 Euros, making it ideal for the masses, but it will also boast slower hardware than the original Legion Go handheld. Lenovo Legion Go S will boast an 8-inch display, a 55Wh battery, and will utilize an 8-core AMD Ryzen Z2 SoC The quest for a more affordable handheld has made Lenovo go a bit lower in the configuration, at least for the main processor if the recent leaks are true. Lenovo Legion Go, being one of the most successful handhelds, may not be the most powerful today, but it certainly goes well against some of the best handhelds in the market. The company is now working on another gaming handheld but with newer hardware. As WinFuture reports, the company is making a smaller handheld than the Legion Go, which goes by the name "Legion Go S". Unlike the original edition, it will be powered by the Ryzen Z2 chip (different from Ryzen Z2 Extreme), which is supposedly slower than the Ryzen Z1 Extreme used on the Legion Go if we go by the specs. But that's how Lenovo can price it lower than the Lenovo Go handheld. WinFuture reports that the handheld can be priced somewhere around 600 Euros per European retailer. It could be more or less as this isn't official yet. Hence, it's going to be around 200 Euros cheaper than the Lenovo Go as per the European prices. That means the official NA market price should be lower as the EU region incurs 20% VAT. This will make the Legion Go S compete directly with the ROG Ally and Steam DECK LCD versions. While detailed specifications have yet to come out, the Legion Go S will use the 8-core/16-thread Zen 3+-based SoC with Radeon 680M as the integrated graphics. This puts it lower than the Legion Go, but the memory is supposedly retained at 16 GB LPDDR5. Lenovo's Upcoming Legion Go S Handheld To Use AMD Ryzen Z2 SoC & Will Be Priced Lower Than Legion Go
  2. Following their 1-0 victory of the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference Final, the LA Galaxy locker room was full of tears and silence. What was supposed to be a celebration instead turned somber after the news that star player Riqui Puig had suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and would not be able to play in the final. Saturday night, they honored their teammate by etching another chapter into the history books, defeating the New York Red Bulls 2-1 in the 2024 MLS Cup Final at Dignity Health Sports Park in Southern California. Los Angeles, start the party again — there will be another parade for the City of Champions. For a record-setting sixth time in their 29-year history, the LA Galaxy are champions of Major League Soccer. Playing in their 10th final, in front of 26,812 chanting, singing, drumming and cheering fans, the high-voltage atmosphere electrified the Galaxy in the early minutes. Most wanted to know how the Galaxy’s high-octane, possession-minded attack would look without the maestro in the middle in Puig. It didn’t take long to find out. Gaston Brugman, starting in place of Puig, did his best impression of the MLS Starting XI midfielder when he sent a through ball into the box in the ninth minute that found the foot of forward Joseph Paintsil. The Ghanaian was able to put just enough power on it to get past Red Bulls keeper Carlos Coronel, who got an arm on the ball but was unable to make the save, giving the Galaxy the game’s first goal. L.A. Galaxy win record 6th MLS Cup after beating New York Red Bulls 2-1 in the final
  3. Former President Donald Trump expressed confidence in his pick to run the Pentagon, former Fox News host Pete Hegseth, amid allegations of excessive drinking and abuse of women. "It looks like Pete is doing well now," Trump said in an exclusive interview with "Meet the Press" Moderator Kristen Welker that will air Sunday." "I mean, people were a little bit concerned. He’s a young guy, with a tremendous track record actually. He went to Princeton and went to Harvard. He was a good student at both. But he loves the military and I think people are starting to see it so we’ll be working on his nomination along with a lot of others." Read more on this story at NBCNews.com and watch Kristen Welker’s full interview on “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. ET or check local listings. NBC News reported on Tuesday that Hegseth's nomination was in peril with as many as six Senate Republicans not currently comfortable with supporting his bid, three GOP sources with direct knowledge of the nomination process said, amid reports highlighting concerns from colleagues over his drinking and allegations of sexual misconduct. NBC News reported Tuesday that Hegseth's drinking worried his Fox News colleagues, 10 current and former employees of the network said. Two of those sources said Hegseth smelled of alcohol before he went on air more than a dozen times. A Trump transition spokesperson called the claims "completely unfounded and false." Separately, Hegseth, an Army National Guard veteran, was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in California in 2017, as a police report that was made public after Trump nominated him detailed. He was not charged, and Hegseth said the encounter was consensual. He paid the woman an undisclosed amount as part of a settlement. Donald Trump says he thinks Pete Hegseth can get confirmed in NBC News interview
  4. The Food and Drug Administration may finally move to ban artificial red food dye, the coloring found in beverages, snacks, cereals and candies. At the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee meeting Thursday, Jim Jones, the FDA’s deputy commissioner for human foods, said it’s been over a decade since the safety of the synthetic color additive Red No. 40 has been re-evaluated. “With Red 3, we have a petition in front of us to revoke the authorization board, and we’re hopeful that in the next few weeks we’ll be acting on that petition,” he said. House Energy and Commerce Committee ranking member Frank Pallone Jr., D-N.J., also urged the FDA to ban Red No. 3, which is made from petroleum and gives food and drinks a bright cherry color. “With the holiday season in full swing where sweet treats are abundant, it is frightening that this chemical remains hidden in these foods that we and our children are eating,” Pallone wrote in a letter to the agency. “While food companies must ensure that the food they market is safe, they are also only required to ensure that their products meet FDA’s standards. This means that thousands of products that contain this chemical can remain on the market.” Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for health secretary, has claimed food dyes cause cancer, but has not said what he would do if confirmed to the Cabinet post — if anything — about artificial food dyes in American food. “There are some departments such as the nutrition departments in the FDA that have to go, that are not doing their job, they are not protecting our kids,” Kennedy told NBC News in November. The FDA regulates more than three-quarters of the United States’ food supply. All color additives must be approved by the FDA before they are used in food sold in the U.S. There are 36 FDA-approved color additives, nine of which are synthetic dyes. This includes the two red dyes facing federal scrutiny. Some of the same dyes that are used in food are also used in pharmaceutical drugs, but the dyes are approved separately for each use. In 1990, the FDA banned Red No. 3, also known as erythrosine, from cosmetics and topical drugs under the Delaney Clause, because the chemical was shown to be carcinogenic at high doses in tests on lab rats. “We don’t believe there is a risk to humans,” FDA’s Jones said. Is Red No. 3, the artificial food dye, safe? FDA may finally move to ban it
