As expected, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has become one of the most talked-about releases this year for its sleek design, upgraded internals, and top-of-the-line camera capabilities. The aesthetics of the 15 Pro, in Spruce Green, Rock Gray, and White, prove that Xiaomi doesn’t compromise on class and quality. Now, more in detail-what makes it stand out. Fancy and Catchy Design, Easy to Recognize The front back cover of the white version is of frosted snow white, adding to the extraordinary touch while resisting fingerprints effectively. Meanwhile, the black ceramic lens with a black-and-white contrast just catches one’s eyes, making it stand out in a sea of round lens designs filling up the market. This design choice is really what separates the Xiaomi 15 series from others and keeps the original modeled cleanliness of the Xiaomi 14 series. The four-curved ceramic lens module certainly makes it feel like a piece of sophistication in your hand, adding to its seamless look and rich texture. Xiaomi has also taken care to design smooth transitions between the camera module and body for a tactile feel that’s robust yet luxurious. The Honor Magic 6 Pro is a strange phone. It folds innovative new AI features, secure 3D face unlocks, cutting-edge battery tech, and a powerful camera into an expensively sleek body. But the MagicOS software is buggy, the camera is inconsistent, and it’s one of the most expensive Android phones on the market. (It’s also not officially available in the US.) While the Honor Magic 6 Pro has delighted and impressed me over the past couple of weeks, it has also frustrated and confused me. It can be oh-so-slick one minute and trip up the next. So, is it smoke and mirrors or innovative magic? The answer seems to be a bit of both. If you crave innovation and don’t mind a few quirks, the Honor Magic 6 Pro delivers. Gamers, videographers, graphic designers, braggarts, and perfectionists, take note: Micron's Crucial T705 (starts at $239.99 for 1TB; $439.99 for 2TB with heatsink as tested) is simply the fastest internal solid-state drive (SSD) we have ever tested, and by a meaty margin. This PCI Express 5.0 powerhouse tallied a Crystal DiskMark sequential read speed fully 15% better than our previous high scorer, and its sequential write score bested its nearest rival by nearly 8%. This Editors' Choice winner for PCIe 5.0 M.2 drives also easily set all-time record scores in the 3DMark Storage gaming-centric test and the PCMark 10 Overall general storage benchmark. Naturally, you pay a premium for such excellence, which is the T705's only potential flaw. But if you are all about the raw speed, at the moment no other SSD can top it. Crucial T705 Review | PCMag

33 Immortals is an upcoming action roguelike video game developed and published by Thunder Lotus Games. The game is set to be released for Windows PC and Xbox Series X and Series S through early access in 2025. 33 Immortals is an action video game played from a top-down perspective. In the game, the player assumes control of a damned soul who must fight through Hell, Purgatory and Heaven as they rebel against a cruel God who banishes them.[1][2] The game supports 33-player cooperative multiplayer, and each gameplay session, which lasts around 25 minutes, is comparable to raid missions from massively multiplayer online games (MMO).[3] Players start each session in the "Dark Forest", a hub world in which players can select their character archetypes (melee, ranged, support, or tank) before venturing through the Eternal Gate into the battlefield. Players are initially split into teams of six as they explore the map and completes Torture Chambers (described by the team as mini-dungeons). Once a chamber is completed, players will unlock Relics and trigger God's wrath, which causes the entire map to be engulfed in fire. The remaining surviving players are then split into three teams, with each team having one chance to complete "Ascension Battles", which unlock Legendary Relics that provide global bonuses to the entire team. The session will then culminate with a boss fight. Enemies placement, gameplay challenges and rewards in each session are randomly generated. The players are then returned to the Dark Forest in which they can change their loadout, discuss with non-playable characters to unlock new weapons, relics and poetic perks, which typically provide stat advantages.[4] 33 Immortals - Wikipedia

Chris Packham has reached a settlement with the government over two legal challenges against its decision to remove or delay some environmental policies. The TV presenter took legal action against the previous Conservative government in late 2023, arguing it acted unlawfully by delaying some policies aimed at helping the UK reaching net zero emissions by 2050. Law firm Leigh Day said Packham had reached "a legal settlement" with the new Labour government that said the Tory administration "had acted unlawfully" by axing or watering down climate policies. The government said it had settled both cases as it would reconsider the decisions as it updates its carbon budget delivery plan (CBDP). Chris Packham settles net zero legal action against government

The dusky pademelon or dusky wallaby (Thylogale brunii) is a species of marsupial in the family Macropodidae. It is found in the Aru and Kai islands and the Trans-Fly savanna and grasslands ecoregion of New Guinea. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, dry savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland. It is threatened by habitat loss. The scientific name of this pademelon honors Cornelis de Bruijn, the Dutch painter who first described it in the second volume of his Travels, originally published in 1711. There de Bruijn labeled his description with a common name then current, philander ("friend of man"). A later common name was the Aru Island wallaby. It is known as kutwal (or kotwal) in the Kalam language of Papua New Guinea. François Valentyn records that Aru Islanders call it aijir and pelandoe; the Malays call it pelandok-aru ("Aru mousedeer") while the Ambonese call it koeskoes-aroe ("Aru cuscus") because it has a pouch like said animal. Remember yesterday, when I said I was starting a daily series where I would get an old computer to pick a random page in the 2005 book, The World’s Worst Cars, written by Craig Cheetham, and then I would do my best to redeem whatever car was being lambasted on that page? Well, I meant what I said, and here we are on the next day already, so it’s time for another Worst Car redemption. This is a project worth doing because this book, like so many of these books about what are allegedly the world’s worst cars, are really just lazy collections of what I believe are interesting cars. This daily redemption I believe will prove that to be true. Now, as a reminder, the way this is done is by running a small BASIC random number generator program on a 1980s Commodore PET; it picks a number between 1 and 317, and I go to that page and see what car is on the page! Are we ready? 'World's Worst Cars' Book Redemption: Suzuki X90 - The Autopian

Do you ever feel like you were truly born in the wrong decade? I constantly do. Flipping through pictures of my parents in high school makes me feel nostalgic about a decade I wasn’t even alive to witness. The acid dye jeans, the teenage angst anthems and the archaic lingo all make me wish I had grown up in the decade of big ideas and even bigger hairstyles. Today, it is easy to spot similarities between modern pop culture and trends of the ‘80s. From music to politics, phases are repeating themselves, and it is becoming more apparent that the ‘80s are not only behind us, but could be ahead of us as well. How are we still connected with the ‘80s, and in what ways do we identify ourselves so strongly with the beloved “Me Generation?” Here are a few reasons why this iconic decade is not a thing of the past. https://www.collegiatetimes.com/lifestyles/1980s-the-biggest-trend-of-today/article_e7ae3d60-d9e5-11e7-b94d-e7ef70e4e7a9.html

New Delhi/ Mumbai: More than 100 flights operated by various Indian airlines received bomb threats on Tuesday, according to sources. In 16 days, over 510 domestic and international flights have got the threats that later turned out to be hoaxes. The threats were issued mostly through social media. Air India received threats for around 36 flights and IndiGo for about 35 flights. Vistara received the threats for 32 flights, the sources in the know said. "A number of Air India flights were subject to security threats received on social media on 29 October 2024. "Following the laid down protocols, relevant authorities were immediately alerted, and all security procedures strictly adhered to, as per guidance from the regulatory authorities," an airline spokesperson said in a statement. Meanwhile, the Mumbai police have registered a case against an unidentified person after three airlines received bomb threats on their X handle, an official said on Tuesday. IndiGo, Air India and Vistara had received the threats on Monday, and they turned out to be a hoax after verification, the official added. The city police have registered 14 FIRs in October in connection with the bomb threats to airlines. Amid a spate of hoax bomb threats to airlines, the IT Ministry has asked social media platforms to observe due diligence obligations and promptly remove or disable access to misinformation within the strict timelines prescribed under IT rules. Besides, the civil aviation ministry is looking to take legislative actions to tackle the menace of the hoax bomb threats to airlines. On Sunday, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the Centre is mulling steps to ban perpetrators, who resort to hoax bomb threats, from flying.
