There is community transmission of the Omicron coronavirus variant in multiple regions of England, Health Secretary Sajid Javid has confirmed. He told MPs the variant was continuing to spread "here and around the world" and there were now cases here "with no links to international travel". There have been 336 confirmed cases of the highly-mutated variant across the UK, he said, a rise of 90 from Sunday. There are concerns about how Omicron could interact with current vaccines. Of the new confirmed Omicron cases, 261 were in England, 71 in Scotland and four in Wales - while Northern Ireland is yet to have a confirmed case. Mr Javid said that as far as he was aware none of those people had been admitted to hospital. Scotland's First minister Nicola Sturgeon has previously said the variant was spreading in the community after a number of cases were linked to events including a Steps concert in Glasgow. Health officials also said last week there was a suggestion of "a small amount" of community transmission in the UK. What are the UK's new travel rules? How can I tell I have Omicron? Warnings Covid travel test prices are misleading Mr Javid said he could not guarantee the variant would not "knock us off our road to recovery", and the window between infection and infectiousness may be shorter for Omicron. He said the government did not have a "complete picture" of whether the variant caused more severe disease or not, or how it interacted with current vaccines. The health secretary said 10,000 vaccinators were being recruited to bolster the booster jabs programme because "when the virus adapts, we must adapt too". He said 350 military personnel would be deployed in England to help give boosters, and more than 100 in Scotland. Labour shadow health secretary Wes Streeting called on the government to "bring forward common-sense measures" to limit the spread of the new variant ahead of Christmas. He said the government should introduce a "standard response" to future variants emerging from overseas, including stronger border controls, testing and contact-tracing. The UK has put restrictions on flights from countries in Africa, with Nigeria becoming the 11th country added to the red list. At the weekend, the government said the majority of Omicron cases identified in England thus far had links to overseas travel from South Africa and Nigeria. From 04:00 GMT on Tuesday, everyone travelling to the UK will need to take a Covid test before their journey - as well as a test after they arrive. People who have come into contact with a suspected Omicron case are required to self-isolate for 10 days, regardless of whether they are fully vaccinated or not. Mr Javid said he believed the UK Health Security Agency was carrying out roughly 500,000 tests a day and testing capacity was increasing. Earlier Prof Paul Hunter, from the University of East Anglia, warned the new variant could be spreading faster than the currently dominant Delta variant and would probably start to overtake Delta within the next few weeks. He said the big question was how severe Covid from the Omicron variant was. On Monday, a further 51,459 cases of Covid were reported, along with 41 deaths within 28 days of a positive test. More than 20.5 million booster or third doses have been delivered, as of Sunday, after a further 290,165 were given. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-59553460

This Monday the death of Juan Pablo Moncagatta, one of the leaders of the Christian Democracy (DC) in past decades and governor of Guayas during the presidency of Osvaldo Hurtado, was known. Moncagatta is remembered as one of the founders and ideologues of the DC - he was also its first secretary - although he later disaffiliated in the early 1990s due to discrepancies with the directive and the line that Hurtado wanted to follow, when the party had changed. a Po[CENSORED]r Democracy (DP). During the government of President Rodrigo Borja, he was appointed President of the National Housing Board. He was also close to host and politician Freddy Ehlers, becoming his national campaign manager for the 1998 elections, in which Ehlers came fourth. Moncagatta was a candidate for deputy for the Pachakutik-Nuevo País alliance and an alternate for Nina Pacari. There were few of us who the other Sunday preferred to attend an outreach day in Viladrau about the wild cat instead of, what do I know, play paddle tennis or go looking for tickets. They, those who opted for other, much less interesting ways of using the day, missed it: it was exciting. https://elpais.com/espana/catalunya/2021-12-04/el-rastro-salvaje-del-gato-montes.html

The Pope has denounced "narrow self-interest and nationalism" over the way European countries treats migrants. Speaking on the Greek island of Lesbos, Pope Francis called the neglect of migrants the "shipwreck of civilisation". The Pope first visited Lesbos in 2016, when it was a major entry point for people trying to reach Europe. Since then, new flashpoints have emerged and the Pope expressed regret that little had changed. Last month 27 people died when their inflatable dinghy sank in the Channel between France and the UK. The number of people attempting the crossing has been growing, with more than 26,000 people arriving in the UK so far this year, more than double last year's total. Several people have also died in freezing temperatures attempting to cross into Poland from Belarus, which denies accusations it has been orchestrating the crisis at its border to destabilise the EU. Francis said he understood that there was a lot of "fatigue and frustration" over migration that had been exacerbated by the pandemic, but warned that without change there was a risk that civilisation itself would find itself "shipwrecked". "Let us eradicate the prevailing mentality revolving around our ego and personal and national egoisms which determine every decision we take," he said. Survivor haunted by deadliest Channel crossing The Channel beaches that host a lethal trade in human hope Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, who was accompanying Francis, said the migration issue was the responsibility of all Europe, not just Greece. More than 8,000 people have crossed into Greece by land and sea this year, down from about 15,000 last year and about 75,000 the previous year, according to EU figures. Greece is building closed camps on several islands to house asylum seekers until their claims are processed. It denies that Greek coast guards push back migrants at sea, insisting that they are saving lives. British Home Secretary Priti Patel has cited the Greek pushbacks as a possible model for the UK to push back migrant boats in the Channel. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-59538413

More and more non-traditional products have opened a market outside of Ecuador. Having the Phytosanitary Export Certificate is mandatory for all companies or SMEs that wish to carry out the process of homologation of sanitary requirements with importing countries for both livestock and plant products. The Agency for the Regulation and Control of Phytosanitary and Zoosanitary (Agrocalidad) is the one that issues this endorsement and the steps to obtain it are different between livestock and vegetable products. https://www.eluniverso.com/noticias/economia/estos-son-los-pasos-para-obtener-el-certificado-fitosanitario-y-zoosanitario-de-exportacion-para-productos-pecuarios-y-vegetales-nota/

It is not the first time that joint custody of an animal has been granted to members of a separating couple. It was already done, for example, in 2019 in a resolution of a Court of Valladolid, in which the criterion for reaching such a decision was the ownership of the animal, that is, joint ownership. However, if it is the first time that after the breakup of the couple, both are declared "joint owners" and "co-keepers" of the dog and not joint owners. Indeed, the Court of First Instance No. 11 of Madrid has established joint custody of the dog, taking into account the existence of an affective bond between the two members of the separated couple and the animal (access the sentence here). In this way, as indicated by Lola García, a lawyer for the Law & Animals law firm, which has won this case, it contributes to de-objectifying animals. "It is about opening a path towards the recognition of interspecies families, where non-human animals are perfectly integrated and have great importance within the family," explains García. To achieve this approach, says the lawyer, “we are based on the 1987 European Convention for the Protection of Companion Animals that Spain ratified in 2017 and which entered into force in 2018 (that is, 30 years later) instead of our code. civil". And it is that the reform of the civil code that recognizes that animals are not things but sentient beings, is still pending publication after approval by Congress and the Senate. A reform that García describes as very important, since "it will imply that the welfare of the animal is taken into account together with that of those responsible, as a criterion when establishing its destiny in separations and divorces". Beyond ownership This decision of the Madrid court is therefore ahead of this new regulation and provides that the affective bond that occurs between people and animals deserves legal protection. "The possession of the animal by the couple, when they were living together, for more than a year, has generated an affective bond between the plaintiff and the animal that has been reflected in various tests," the judge has deduced. In fact, among the evidence provided by the plaintiff, in addition to the adoption contract in which the two members of the couple were listed and the veterinary bills, photographs of both with the dog were also provided in which it was reflected, as indicated in the sentence, his affection for the animal. For his part, the defendant argued that he had been the one who had assumed the fundamental expenses of the dog and who appeared as the sole owner of it in all his identification documents (passport, registration, veterinary record, etc.). Despite this, the judge has rejected that the decision of who the dog stays with after the separation can be made solely on the basis of "merely formal data of the ownership of the animal." Distribution of animal maintenance expenses Ultimately, the ruling has determined the shared tenure between the two keepers of the dog, which means that the animal will live with each of them in alternate periods of one month, and that both will be responsible for assuming their living expenses. As García explains, as happens in a regulatory agreement when a couple with children separates, in this case, it must be established how the time of stay with the animal will be distributed, as well as ordinary expenses, such as food and hairdressing, and the extraordinary ones, such as veterinary assistance. "We cannot forget that whoever decides to take care of an animal has a responsibility and assumes a series of obligations with the animal that he cannot evade in any case," concludes the lawyer. https://elpais.com/economia/2021/12/03/mis_derechos/1638534264_175397.html

The parents of a teenager suspected of a deadly school shooting have denied charges of involuntary manslaughter following their arrest on Saturday. James and Jennifer Crumbley were found hiding in a Detroit basement having failed to show up in court on Friday. The judge set bail at $500,000 each after agreeing with prosecutors that the Crumbleys posed a flight risk. They are accused of ignoring warning signs before their son's alleged rampage. Prosecutors say Ethan Crumbley, 15, used his father's gun to shoot classmates in the nearby Michigan town of Oxford, killing four and wounding seven. The Crumbleys' lawyers said that the pair had intended to turn themselves in to the authorities on Saturday morning, according to US media. Ethan Crumbley is alleged to have opened fire on fellow students and teachers at his school in Oxford, about 35 miles (60 km) north of Detroit, on Tuesday. The four killed were Tate Myre, 16, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, Hana St Juliana, 14, and Justin Shilling, 17. Ethan Crumbley is being charged as an adult, and is facing one count of terrorism, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assaults with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm. School officials told the pair they would have to seek counselling for their son. But the boy's parents did not want him to be removed from school that day, Ms McDonald said, and did not ask him whether he had the gun with him, or search his backpack. At 13:22 later that day, Mrs Crumbley texted her son to say: "Ethan, don't do it." Minutes later her husband called police to report his gun was missing, said the prosecutor. But authorities say the boy had already emerged from the school bathroom and opened fire on fellow students. Ms McDonald said the charges were meant to hold the Crumbleys accountable and to send a message about responsible gun ownership. "The notion that a parent could read those words and also know that their son had access to a deadly weapon that they gave him is unconscionable, and it's criminal," she said. The prosecutor had previously noted that, although the gun had been purchased legally, it "seems to have just been freely available" for the child's use. According to her, the suspect took the gun from an unlocked drawer in his parents' bedroom and brought it to school. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59532845

The Inter-Institutional Committee of the Sea (CIM), made up of several state institutions, met to analyze the creation of the new Galapagos marine reserve, announced by President Guillermo Lasso, at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26) , November 1st. The Foreign Ministry reported that a balance is being sought between conservation and sustainable use of maritime resources in this space. "(It is important) to discuss the next regulations to be adopted and the comprehensive lines of action that we will carry out, always in accordance with Ecuador's obligations in the international arena," said Foreign Minister Mauricio Montalvo. The creation of the new Galapagos marine reserve will require at least five steps The new reserve would comprise 60,000 square kilometers: 30,000 on the Los Cocos mountain range, where no fishing activity will be carried out, and 30,000 on the northwestern fringe of the already existing marine reserve, which will be a no-longline zone. To start the creation process, the Government established that, between this month and January 2022, President Guillermo Lasso will sign the executive decree. The Government hopes that the process concludes, maximum in the second semester of next year. The elaboration of an Environmental Management Plan, the delimitation of the zones so that the fishermen know how far they can fish, the activation of the debt-for-nature swap of $ 1.1 billion, the acquisition of light and fast boats, drones and surveillance systems satellite are some of the steps that must be completed. At this meeting, which is the fourth of the CIM since it was restructured in 2020, the Minister of the Environment, Water and Ecological Transition, Gustavo Manrique; the Vice Ministers of Defense, Darwin Jarrín; of Aquaculture and Fishing, Andrés Arens; of Transport Services and Public Works, Fernando Arteaga. In addition, the undersecretaries of the National Secretariats of Planning and Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt) and the General Directorate of Maritime Interests of the Ecuadorian Navy, which acted as technical advisor to the Committee. Thanks to rescuers, animal associations and those who report the situation, because without them it would not be possible to give this four-legged creature a new life. You, an animal abuser, will never know the meaning of trust and love. Do you remember that time you abandoned your pet because you wanted to go on vacation and you had plenty of her presence? She was waiting for you to come back. Do you remember the time when you beat him up? She came back to you giving you kisses. Do you remember the times you have used your pet as a hunting tool? Now that she is of no use to you, you abandon her and yet she thought it was a game. You, abuser, are an empty soul to take care of a being with so much life, capable of forgiving your every mistake and incapable of repaying all the damage it has received. For people like you, there are thousands of dropouts. For people like you, I don't believe in humanity. And for people like you, I fight every day for justice to be done. Andrea Molero Freight. Barcelona Guardians of hope Today I already have a voice and I can eat. Four months ago, no. Repeating monosyllables in front of the mirror ad nauseam and swallowing air non-stop helped me improve, but the drive of the Vall d'Hebron speech therapists was the true engine of my recovery. Because a hospital is inhabited by an army of guardians of hope, of infinite benefits, that give wings to the patient. And we notice it from the first moment. Before I was speechless because I had no voice. Now they are the ones who leave me without them when I try to tell how much they have helped me. Alba, Felipe, Àlex, Ana. Thank you. David Milián Casellas. Barcelona Messi and the fans The football that Lionel Messi plays shows that not all of us are equally capable, and that is good. Diversity is a human asset and the price it charges for its game shows that the economic structure of the market transforms diversity into social asymmetry and inequality of opportunities. For the hegemonic economy, people are only tools, producers of wealth, objects to possess and absolutely disposable goods when we lose our productive capacity; But political ethics tells us that citizens are capable of collaborating and transforming established organizations and of finding a place of our own, not just as labor or commercial product. Messi's experience should force us to question the economic and value system that allows him to escape from anonymity and poverty, and which, nevertheless, keeps most of his fans in it. https://elpais.com/opinion/2021-12-03/a-ti-maltratador-de-animales.html

MONTECRISTI, Manabí In about six hectares, machinery deploys stone material in an area of great industrial expansion such as the Montecristi-Portoviejo road. On that land, located at kilometer 4 of that road, stands what will be a large collection center for products of Corporación El Rosado, owner of Mi Comisariato, as confirmed by Washington Arteaga, mayor of Montecristi. The mayor pointed out that he is in favor of private investment being installed in the canton and said that, upon learning of this business, this Manabi municipality provided the facilities for the construction to be completed. In the near future, also, a Mini Commissariat will begin to be built, of the same company El Rosado, in the urban area of Montecristi. "That area -route from Montecristi to Portoviejo- is considered a development area, there are many entrepreneurs who are interested in investing, which have to do with industrial processes, therefore, the moment they come to ask for the respective permits, we we will see the feasibility and we will give them immediately ”, indicated Arteaga. Regarding the investment of the El Rosado group, the authority highlights the intention of continuing to emerge in Manabí and that it will generate employment. In the province there are about 50 supermarkets such as El Rosado, La Favorita, Tía and Coral. The three largest supermarket chains go to new areas with their formats The El Rosado Group is not the only company that builds a movable asset on Montecristense soil. There is also a cardboard factory in the province of Azuay (Arteaga did not give the name of that company). https://www.eluniverso.com/noticias/economia/grupo-el-rosado-construye-un-centro-de-acopio-en-via-montecristi-portoviejo-nota/

The parents of a suspect in deadly shooting at a Michigan high school are facing charges of their own. Prosecutors in Oakland County have charged James and Jennifer Crumbley with involuntary manslaughter, alleging several negligent actions they took. Authorities say Ethan Crumbley used his father's handgun during a rampage in Oxford, about 35 miles (60 km) north of Detroit, this week. He has pleaded not guilty on multiple charges including terrorism. Four people were killed and seven were injured in the shooting on Tuesday. The victims have been named as Tate Myre, 16, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, Hana St Juliana, 14, and Justin Shilling, 17. On Friday, Oakland County lead prosecutor Karen McDonald acknowledged that charging parents in a child's alleged crime was unusual, but the facts of the case were "egregious". According to her office's investigation, the boy was with his father last Friday when Mr Crumbley bought the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting. A post on his social media later that day showed off his dad's new weapon as "my new beauty", Ms McDonald said. Investigators said that Mr and Mrs Crumbley had recently been contacted by the school over concerning behaviour by their son, including several drawings of guns and bloodied people alongside captions like "the thoughts won't stop" and "blood everywhere". On one occasion, a teacher found the teenager searching the word "ammunition" on his cell phone during class. School personnel reportedly were unable to reach his parents, but in a text exchange with his mother later, she said: "LOL I'm not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught." Ms McDonald said the charges are meant to hold the Crumbleys accountable as well as to send a message about responsible gun ownership. Further details have also emerged regarding a meeting between school personnel and the Crumbleys on the day of the shooting, in which the latter were reportedly instructed to place their son in counselling within 48 hours. Neither parent knew or inquired about the whereabouts of the gun at the time, and their son remained in school. Ms McDonald alleged that, when James Crumbley heard about the shooting, he "drove straight to his home to look for his gun" before calling authorities to say he suspected his son was the perpetrator. "I'm angry as a mother. I'm angry as a prosecutor. I'm angry as a person that lives in this county," she said. "There were a lot of things that could have been so simple to prevent." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59523682

"Zoom, go get the ball" This year, the names inspired by the covid increased: the dogs named "Zoom" increased by 443%, while the name "Fauci" increased 270%. Names inspired by home tech, like "Siri," were up 131% and "Google" up 63%. According to Nicole Ellis, Certified Professional Trainer of Famous Dogs at Rover.com, names like "Zoom" are often chosen because they remind owners of an unprecedented time when they developed a closer relationship with their pets. Celebrity names Celebrities and musicians have also largely inspired pet names. Dogs named Boseman increased 1,063%, while Chadwick cats increased 400% in honor of the late actor Chadwick Boseman. Britney Spears' guardianship battle influenced the dog names Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn, while Crazy - perhaps inspired by her 1998 hit song - rose 68%. "People feel like they live a little bit with a celebrity, and for most of us, our pets are the celebrities in our lives and what makes us feel so happy and excited," says Ellis. In contrast, cats named Ellen were down 129%, while Kanye and both Taylor and Taylor Swift had a downward trend. Jaffe expects names related to Taylor Swift to increase in 2022, as well as Adele's. While some fans fill the stadiums this soccer season, others took their obsession with the sport to a new level. DK, inspired by Seattle Seahawks catcher DK Metcalf, was the most trending football-inspired dog name, with a 563% increase. Gronk, named after former New England Patriots player Rob Gronkowski, was the most po[CENSORED]r soccer-inspired cat name, with a 276% increase. The way these names sound is also a contributing factor to their po[CENSORED]rity. Most pet owners would be comfortable calling out human names in public, according to Ellis. Many of these names also sound like things owners would ask their dogs for. According to Ellis, "very simple, short, positive names" are best for dog owners, as are names that can be shortened. Ellis prefers two-syllable names for dogs as they are easy to pronounce. Next year, Jaffe hopes to see the continued influence of pop culture on pet names, as well as names inspired by more specialized interests and passions. "We all want our dogs to feel loved or special, so that feeling of happiness is very important, and that comes with a name," says Ellis. https://cnnespanol.cnn.com/2021/11/30/fauci-chadwick-nombres-mascota-po[CENSORED]res-trax/

Today, the Government, through the Social Registry and the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES), increased 85,562 beneficiaries of the Human Development Bond (BDH) and withdrew 45,566 people who are not in conditions of poverty and extreme poverty. The BDH, which has a value of $ 50 per beneficiary, is one of the nine bonds that the Government currently has, and which, together with the BDH with a variable component, which reaches up to $ 150 per beneficiary, is delivered to about 970,000 people, explained the Minister of Economic and Social Inclusion, Esteban Bernal. Esteban Bernal: Prospera is not a tenth bonus, it is the same bonus (BDH) ..., it is a change of modality The nine vouchers, including two for people with disabilities, three for older adults, one for victims of femicide ($ 89,664 delivered for 73 cases with final judgment), are delivered to a total of 1,463,646 Ecuadorians (including the increased 85,562) in conditions of poverty and extreme poverty. This represents an investment of $ 1,297 million per year. Starting in February next year, the Government will create a tenth bond for expectant mothers and newborn children, of $ 70 per beneficiary, with an additional investment of $ 67 million. The more than two million dollars of bond spending enters the budget as current expense since 2022; although, this year, due to lack of resources, the bonds were paid with freely available funds. The Government expects to further increase the number of BDH beneficiaries, until April 2022, with 263,561 new beneficiaries, including 85,562. The director of the Social Registry, Diana Apraes, said that the purification is permanent and is based on statistical instruments. European Union countries should consider mandatory vaccination to combat Covid and the Omicron variant, the head of its Commission has said. Ursula von der Leyen said vaccines would be crucial in the fight against the "highly contagious" new variant. Some two dozen countries have reported cases of Omicron, and the EU has tightened travel restrictions since it was first reported earlier this month. European countries have also been facing a wider spike in cases. The World Health Organization (WHO), meanwhile, has said early signs were that most cases of the Omicron variant were "mild" and not severe. On Wednesday, Ms von der Leyen said it was "understandable and appropriate" for EU members to discuss forced Covid vaccinations given that a third of the bloc's po[CENSORED]tion is unvaccinated. "How we can encourage and potentially think about mandatory vaccination within the European Union? This needs discussion. This needs a common approach, but it is a discussion that I think has to be led," she told a news conference in Brussels. Some EU states are already taking steps in that direction. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-59497462

In Spain, an average of 80 species of birds are seen each year, considered rarities because they are in a place where they do not belong. They arrive from America, Asia, Africa or northern Europe, confused by taking a wrong path in migration or caught in a storm with winds that propel them towards an unknown destination. Many die in the attempt, but some manage to reach land, sometimes on board ships where they rest to rest or to escape a storm, as is suspected to have happened to the two snowy owls that appeared in Asturias two weekends ago , arrived from North America. The couple has not been seen for days. But it does not matter. Fans of bird watching, who chase winged rarities, continue in Cabo Peñas (Asturias), at the foot of the cliff so as not to miss what they consider the most unusual appearance of a bird that has been recorded in Spain. Uca Díaz, a neighbor of Santander, is part of that aviary legion. She has already seen the owls, but she keeps getting closer to shore when she drops her daughter off at school. "For a snowy owl, which should be coming down from Canada to Boston or New York and is in Asturias, it is worth driving two hours," explains by phone the 46-year-old naturalist, who became fond of birds 20 years ago, when she thought that only pigeons and sparrows existed. Then came her passion. "I will never forget that time when my daughter and I were in the car, raining, she sitting on the potty and I filming an ibis lark, an African rarity," she recalls. These specimens are “putting in many hours”, confirms Gonzalo Pardo de Santayana, secretary of the Rarity Committee of the ornithological NGO SEO / BirdLife. Cabo Peñas is one of the key points, because it is a place through which many of the species that come from the sea pass. "You have to know that October is the month in which more rare birds can enter that area and you have to go every day," he explains. “There is always the incentive to find you a megarareza. That keeps you coming back again and again, ”he describes. Among the most spectacular encounters, Pardo highlights a fine-billed albatross that was seen last year at Cape Estaca de Bares (A Coruña), the northernmost point of Spain and the best place to watch the migration. "It could have moved about 5,000 kilometers from where it should have been, but we don't know how far it went, because it is one of the largest birds in the world [2.30 meters] and they fly a lot," he explains. They breed in the southern hemisphere and can travel hundreds of miles to feed their young. Pardo points out that "it is possible" that a week later the bird returned to the area to which it belongs. "It could be associated with a group of gannets or another species that moves between the two hemispheres and thus change the migration route," he adds. https://elpais.com/clima-y-medio-ambiente/2021-11-29/las-aves-mas-raras-observadas-en-espana.html

MANTA, Manabi It is historical. After the electronic auction with the best batches of the Golden Cup contest, last Tuesday, November 30, a special coffee was paid at $ 100 per pound. It was the first time that this price was paid for a coffee produced in Ecuador, something that surpassed the 2020 record, for which a little more than $ 70 per pound was canceled, something that for that date was also something historic. Lot 1 of the Cruz Loma farm, owned by producer Galo Morales, in the province of Pichincha, was bought by several specialty coffee importers around the world, such as Paradise, Chromatic Coffe and Coffee Roaster from the United States, Hatch Cofee from Canada and 4 Arts Zero Defect Coffees from Taiwan. In this year, the best 20 micro-lots of specialty coffees within the Golden Cup contest obtained a rating higher than 87.11 points out of 100, said Pablo Pinargote, manager of the National Association of Coffee Exporters of Ecuador (Anecafé). In the case of the coffee from the Cruz Loma farm, the percentage obtained was 91.04 out of 100 points, cataloged at the moment as the best coffee in Ecuador. There are people who do not like cats or dogs or are simply afraid of them and prefer to keep them away. That is why you can sometimes see people who, when approached by a four-legged pet, run away or try to drive them away to avoid panicking. However, we have all heard the phrase that animals "smell fear" and the scarier a cat or dog gives you, the closer it will get to you. In other words, Murphy's law prevails: "If something bad can happen, it will happen." In this case, "the more you want to move an animal away from your side, the closer it will get to you." Thank you for watching How to drive them away? If you are a lover of kittens, you can call them, for example, whispering or with a sweet voice and touching the index, middle and thumb fingers. https://www.elperiodico.com/es/vida-y-estilo/20211129/palabra-gato-huya-dv-12859473

Sweden's first female prime minister has been reappointed to the top job after political turmoil forced her to resign within hours of taking the post last week. MPs backed Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson by a narrow margin in a new vote on Monday. She will attempt to lead a one-party government until an election in September next year. She stood down as PM last Wednesday after her coalition collapsed. Just hours earlier, Ms Andersson had been elected as Sweden's first female prime minister by a single vote in parliament. But the 54-year-old economist's plan for forming a new coalition government with the Green Party was thrown into disarray when her budget proposal failed to pass. Instead, parliament voted for a budget drawn up by a group of opposition parties, including the far-right Sweden Democrats. The Green Party said it would not accept a budget drafted by the far-right and walked away from the government, leading to its demise. By convention, the prime minister in Sweden is expected to resign if a coalition party leaves government. In Monday's vote in Sweden's parliament, the Riksdag, 101 of its 349 members voted yes, 75 abstained and 173 voted no. To be appointed prime minister under Sweden's political system, a candidate only needs to avoid a majority voting against them. At a news conference after the vote, Ms Andersson said she was ready to "take Sweden forward" with a programme focused on welfare, climate change and crime. But without the support of other parties, Ms Andersson will struggle to pass legislation in parliament, where the centre-left Social Democrats hold 100 of 349 seats. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-59459733
