  1. Control returns for the Warriors collection event Apex Legends' best chill-out mode is coming back, as Control makes its return in next week's Warriors Collection Event with a new location on King's Canyon. Debuting with a 3-week binge at the start of Season 12, Control was the casual shootout Apex always needed—a more traditional capture point mode that effectively let you play Team Deathmatch with Apex's sandbox. It absolutely banged, so I'm thrilled to see it return with a new map built around the Caustic Treatment region of King's Canyon. Control had a few irritating balance issues, sure. But I absolutely miss it as a way to hang out with less seasoned friends or warm up before a ranked session. I'm wary that many of those issues won't be resolved, but I'm also hopeful that its speedy return means Respawn knows how po[CENSORED]r the mode was, and may bring it back on a more permanent basis. But Control's return isn't the only thing coming next week. Warrior is also introducing a new Arenas map, Drop-Off, a series of dense skyscraper rooftops that I can only describe as having big Halo energy. That's a good thing—Overflow, the current best Arenas map, also has big Halo energy, with both maps appearing to be designed more like old-school arena shooter maps than condensed battle royale locations. Being a collection event, Warriors also includes a host of new skins, sporting a pretty clean '80s Gladiator vibe. Not to be biased, but Horizon's Jewel of Olympus is the absolute standout, and for the first time in collection event history I am thriving. It's also Crypto's turn for an Heirloom, a sword that's part Wiimote and part segmented knife that's awarded for purchasing everything in the event. As a transaction model it is still not great, costing around $160 for the lot. But Crypto has been deserving of some love for some time, and I'm happy that all twelve Crypto mains will now be able to cut about with a slick new sword, should they feel like opening their wallets. Warriors kicks off next Tuesday, March 29th, and runs until April 12th. https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/apex-legends-best-mode-is-coming-back-next-week/
  2. WiLAN earlier claimed that iPhone 5 and 6 models infringed its patents by using the LTE wireless standard. WiLAN said on Tuesday it had signed a patent licence agreement with Apple and settled all pending litigations, weeks after the iPhone maker won a patent dispute over wireless technology with the company. In February, Apple convinced a US appeals court to dismiss a jury's $85 million (roughly Rs. 650 crore) award to Canadian patent-licensing company WiLAN following a 2020 retrial. Apple had asked the Federal Circuit to throw out the award on several grounds, including problems with WiLAN expert's testimony. Apple sued Quarterhill's WiLAN in 2014 and sought a ruling that it did not infringe patents related to allocating bandwidth in a wireless network. WiLAN claimed that iPhone 5 and 6 models infringed its patents by using the LTE wireless standard. WiLAN's primary business is acquiring ownership of intellectual property and then charging fees to companies that make use of it. Ads by The latest agreement includes settlement and dismissal of all disputes between WiLAN, its subsidiary Polaris and Apple in the United States, Canada and Germany. Terms of the agreement were, however, not disclosed. https://gadgets360.com/mobiles/news/apple-wilan-paten-licence-agreement-dispute-settle-iphone-5-6-lte-wireless-2836733
  3. Next Microsoft Edge update could be bad news for some The bloatware controversy surrounding Microsoft Edge looks set to rumble on a little while longer following news of another update. The browser is set to receive a Skype Meet Now extension icon for its toolbar that will allow users to launch a video meeting directly from their window. However, users have already noted that including such a potentially resource-heavy tool could put extra strain on older machines, and slow down Microsoft Edge even more. Skype Meet Now extension Digging into the latest Edge Canary build, WindowsLatest found the new Skype meetings launchers in the toolbar alongside several other existing extensions and services such as screen capture and download management. The site discovered the new Skype Meet Now icon would let users launch a call with just one click, meaning no need to download other software or even sign up to the service. Users simply need to add a name for their meeting to receive a unique URL that can then be shared with others. It does seem that the Skype Meet Now tool can be disabled from the Microsoft Edge settings menu, but it's the latest potentially unwanted and unloved addition to the browser. The news comes as Microsoft looks to make Edge more of a multi-faceted tool for users everywhere as it gets close to Version 100 The company recently revealed it is working on using Edge to make it easier to install progressive web apps (PWAs) across multiple devices, meaning once you have installed a PWA on one device, you will then see an option to install it on other devices with a single click. Microsoft Edge continues to perform strongly in the global browser market, with recent figures placing it on the verge of surpassing Apple's Safari offering. The latest StatCounter numbers show Microsoft Edge is now used on 9.54% of desktops worldwide, just behind Safari at 9.84% - although both are still far behind runaway market leader Google Chrome on 65.38%.
  4. Cooling specialist hints at multiple new products. The Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition was launched last October to an excited crowd of PC gamers and enthusiasts. Today we learned that Asus and Noctua have multiple graphics card collaborations in the pipeline. In response to a tweet asking about the possibility of a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Noctua Edition, the Austrian beige and brown cooling specialist teased, "We do aim to create further cards in collaboration with Asus, stay tuned! Admittedly, the above doesn't give us much information to go on, but it does open up a luxuriant opportunity for speculation. If you have a dream graphics card that is a current production model, it may receive the Noctua treatment in the Asus engineering labs. Of course, Asus and Noctua might not be collaborating on graphics cards using currently-available GPUs. Some refreshed GPUs that are soon rumored for release (April) include the AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT, Radeon RX 6750 XT and Radeon RX 6650 XT. These cards are said to be on the way with improved memory bandwidth and perhaps other important tweaks. It would be appreciated by Team Red fans if the next Asus x Noctua collaboration appeared in the Asus AMD product portfolio. Looking further down the hardware release calendar, the next Noctua-cooled Asus graphics card could be an Nvidia Lovelace (RTX 40 series) or AMD RDNA 3 (RX 7000 series) product. What Was so Special About the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition? We reviewed the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition on the cusp of the New Year. There were lots of positives to be reported, largely concerning cooling and performance, as you might expect. However, there were some significant strikes against the product. One potential issue with this Noctua-enhanced graphics card was the size. This RTX 3070 was a four-slot design. That is pretty fat, and those using other add-in-cards in their PCs might have to do some shuffling. Ultimately, the price was the biggest problem with this desirable Asus x Noctua collaborative product. With GPU pricing now easing, there is the prospect that pricing won't be as much of an issue with future products. Our senior graphics card editor pondered more than once while reviewing the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition about why the RTX 3070 was targeted for this design. Moving up to a higher-tier RTX 3080, 3080 Ti, or even 3090 GPU could have made it easier to absorb the cost of the custom cooler. Also, the higher-end cards with higher TDPs benefit the most from powerful air (and AiO) coolers. To get a refresher regarding the unique appeal of the Asus GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition please dive into our review.

  6. Minecraft Preview is a totally separate application meant to replace the old beta program. Beta versions of Minecraft Bedrock for Windows now have their very own standalone application, Minecraft Preview, free for Minecraft owners and Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Change may be scary, but this one honestly sounds like a real improvement over the headaches that the old Minecraft beta process has always caused me. As of today, you can download Minecraft Preview from the Xbox store or through the Xbox app for Windows. You'll already own the app if your account has a copy of Minecraft Bedrock or a Game Pass subscription. As we get closer to the Minecraft 1.19 Wild Update later this year, this is how Mojang will let players on Minecraft Bedrock continue trying out new features and creatures like those frogs and mangrove trees. Importantly, Minecraft Preview is a totally separate application from Bedrock. So your game saves, marketplace items, and achievements aren't available in Minecraft Preview—nor is multiplayer. It also means less pain when playing the beta version, overall. Previously, Bedrock players had to download the Xbox Insider Hub, opt into the Minecraft Beta program, and then their version of Minecraft Bedrock would be switched to the beta version. Switching back and forth was an absolute hassle, sometimes requiring me to re-download the entire game through the Microsoft store for the transition between versions to stick. Unlike Minecraft Java, Bedrock has never allowed multiple version installations. So I personally won't be mourning the Bedrock and Beta breakup. Mojang says in its Minecraft Preview FAQ that the application is currently available for PC, Xbox, and iOS, and that it is "working diligently to bring Minecraft Preview to additional platforms". Mojang explains that for now, there is some overlap for PC and Xbox players, who will still have access to the Minecraft Beta program and the new Minecraft Preview. The application isn't currently available in the new universal Minecraft Launcher on PC, but will be at some point later this year. Breathe easy, Java players. This doesn't seem to affect us, our snapshot builds, or our meticulously organized game versions.

  8. When AirPods and an app work to beat bad posture If you feel like you slouch your head too much while sitting at your desk, playing video games, or standing at the bus stop, an app for your iPhone could help with that, as long as you're wearing your AirPods. PosturePal uses a motion-tracking feature in iOS 15 that can tell the position of your head as you're wearing AirPods and alerts you if your posture is bad. Available on the App Store for free, with a one-off purchase to unlock all its features for $1.99 / £1.99 / AU$2.49, the design is fun and easy to use. You're greeted with a character that reacts to whether you're tilting your head correctly or not, and once you're done, you're given a score. TechRadar spoke with developer Jordi Bruinabout how Posture Pal came to be, and its future plans to help more users with their head posture. Developing an app can take anywhere between a week and six months. But for Bruin, it was quite a bit shorter. "I got the first version up and running in 10 minutes back in October last year," Bruin reveals. "The API was very clear and I found some good sample code on GitHub, which allowed me to test out if the idea would be feasible." With PosturePal available to iOS users with an iPhone and AirPods, we asked if there were any challenges that may still need solving. "Since I only have access to AirPods Max at the moment, I am unable to test all the different supported headphones," Bruin explains. "The problem with the regular AirPods and AirPods Pro is that a lot of people wear them in the wrong way. For example, by tilting them forward more than they should. I know how I want to fix it, but it’s a hard problem to test when I have to borrow AirPods from friends." The app can benefit your back, neck and shoulders from using it just once a day, due to its gentle nudging to make sure your head is straight. We wondered if Bruin was also feeling the benefits of PosturePal. "For me, the main thing that has helped is keeping posture more at the top of my mind. I don’t use the app on every work session [yet], but I want to." Bruin continues. "I’m trying to make it even easier for myself to track my posture by adding stuff like Shortcuts support to automatically start a session when you connect your AirPods. Trying out the app on the train, we would experience the pings and vibrations from PosturePal, telling us to keep our heads up straight. We asked Bruin if there were plans to offer a push notification instead. "Notifications are planned for an update that’s coming out soon. But currently, I’m trying to understand why people would prefer a notification instead of a (more subtle) sound through the AirPods they are already wearing." Bruin explains. "That being said, we will probably add a simple notification option that we can experiment with and get feedback on." Widgets have been po[CENSORED]r since they arrived in iOS 14 and iPadOS 15, but they're currently missing from PosturePal, which feels like an easy win. We asked Bruin whether they were coming. "Yes, definitely. We wanted to keep this first release small and focused on the user experience but you can expect a full history view, progress over time, widgets, and more. Bruin does see the app like a game, which you can tell from the cute giraffe and colorful user interface, so could leaderboards or multiplayer options to compete with friends and family be on the cards? "I’ve looked into Game Center Leaderboards, but since I have never built anything with that I did not want to go too far into the rabbit hole for the initial launch," Bruin reveals. "Since the app keeps track of something you could consider ‘Health’ data, I am hesitant to put too much focus on sharing for now, but it’s definitely something to think about." Finally, the rumored Apple AR/VR headset could be a great fit with PosturePal in combination with the AirPods, so we asked Bruin if he thought the app would benefit from this peripheral when it's released. "I'd expect any future headset to have similar APIs to track head/eye movement in a similar way, so that would definitely be interesting to integrate if it gets to that point. https://www.techradar.com/news/this-app-aims-to-help-your-posture-as-you-use-your-airpods-with-ios-154
  9. Mac Studio packs massive M1 Ultra and uses modular SSDs that is user-accessible. The Mac Studio features a minimalistic design that looks pretty humble compared to modern workstations like other Apple devices. But what these design hides are Apple's massive M1 Ultra processor package that occupies around one-fourth of the motherboard, a very complex voltage regulating module (VRM), and two user-accessible SSDs. Now that Apple is shipping Mac Studio systems to the end-user, some of the latter dissect these PCs to find out their internal design and architecture. Indeed, there is a lot to look at with the Mac Studio. Apple's Mac Studio is a masterpiece of high-precision engineering that comprises hundreds of components installed on a relatively small printed circuit board, as revealed by the Max Tech YouTube channel, which was the first to teardown a Mac Studio. Apple M1 Ultra: Three Times Bigger than Ryzen Apple's M1 Ultra processor is two M1 Max system-on-chips (SoCs) in TSMC's CoWoS-S (chip-on-wafer-on-substrate with silicon interposer) 2.5D interposer-based package. The two SoCs feature memory subsystems. They are linked together using the company's UltraFusion interprocessor interconnection that offers a bandwidth of 2.5 TB/s, enough to present two GPUs and two memory subsystems as one to the OS. We expected Apple's M1 Ultra to be massive given such an architecture. Indeed, the M1 Ultra is massive. Compared to an AMD Ryzen processor in an AM4 form-factor, it is about three times larger. One M1 Ultra occupies around 25% of Mac Studio's motherboard. Since we are two M1 Maxes, the M1 Ultra has two rather complex VRMs that can feed the two-headed beast and ensure high-quality power to let it run at high clocks. It, of course, means that we are dealing with a very complex motherboard, but if you need to maximize performance, this is the way to go. Since the M1 Ultra consumes quite a lot of power and generates quite a lot of heat, it is not surprising that it needs a very advanced dual-fan cooling system. The cooling system takes away heat from the top of the processor and its bottom, which gives a pretty good idea about the heat generated by the unit. But while the M1 Ultra looks large for Apple users, there is an even bigger thing inside the new Mac Studio. Upgradeable Storage The vast majority of Apple's PCs released in recent years are known for being utterly non-upgradeable by the end-user, so the end-user did not need to disassemble them. Furthermore, none of the M1-based systems released allows for an upgrade as they feature soldered-down memory and solid-state drives (SSDs). But with Mac Studio, the company decided that change the design bit and use modular SSDs instead of a soldered-down drive. Potentially, this opens doors to upgradeability unless, of course, there are software limitations. It is not very hard to open up Apple's Mac Studio: you need to remove the rubber ring from the bottom, unbolt the screws, and detach the base. Once you remove the base, you immediately notice the bottom of the power supply and one or two modular SSDs installed into their slots (if only one is filled, you see a spare SSD slot). The drives use a proprietary form-factor, which is logical as the SSD controller resides in the SoC, and the drives themselves do not need to carry one. The critical thing is that both SSD slots are accessible without removing the PSU. Officially, Apple claims that the drives are not user upgradeable, so accessing them probably voids the warranty (at least for now), but Apple could enable its authorized partners to offer SSD upgrade services. Or lift the limitation altogether, let hardware suppliers like OWC produce SSDs in an appropriate form factor. Apple has consistently argued that soldering down NAND chips allows it to make its systems more portable. Still, this argument does not stand because there are more compact systems that use regular modular M.2 drives. Meanwhile, SSD modules allow PC makers to be more flexible with configurations. Mac Studio, for example, is offered with 512GB (M1 Max only) 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB storage options as well as with 32GB/64GB (M1 Max) or 64GB/128GB (M1 Ultra) of memory. Since Mac Studio uses SSD modules, Apple needs to make four motherboards. It would have to produce 10 M1 Max and eight M1 Ultra mainboards with soldered-down storage. Apple's new SSD modules look pretty small, so perhaps eventually, Apple could use them for other systems too? https://www.tomshardware.com/news/mac-studio-dissected-m1-ultra-about-3x-bigger-than-amds-ryzen-cpus

  11. Funnily enough, The Witcher 3 was released seven years ago. YouTuber xLetalis has been on the hunt for a particular easter egg in The Witcher 3 after quest designer Philipp Weber dropped some hints about it. Weber had previously tweeted at xLetalis in response to a video he'd made about the character Vivienne, who is part of the Blood and Wine DLC, saying, "I wonder when they will find Vivienne's last secret". Fans got hold of the idea of this "last secret" and asked Weber about it during a charity livestream earlier this month, during which he said "it's on Skellige" and that it "goes quite a bit further" than they might expect. After some hunting, xLetalis has found the mysterious easter egg. To explain what it is, I'll need to get into heavy spoiler territory for a particular quest in Blood and Wine called The Warble of a Smitten Knight, so you've been warned. During this sidequest, Geralt investigates a curse affecting a lady-in-waiting named Vivienne de Tabris. The curse has progressively been making her look more and more like a bird, specifically an oriole, and she's resorted to magical ointments to disguise the beak, talons, and feathers spreading across her skin. There are a couple of ways to cure the curse, one of which involves transferring it to an oriole egg, though this could result in Vivienne's death seven years down the line. If you go through with it, the curse will be lifted and Vivienne will decide to use whatever time she has left to travel the world. First she'll go to Novigrad, and from there to Skellige. (Although she doesn't always follow through on that final step since she's supposed to move into a room at Kaer Trolde's inn that Yennefer may be staying in, depending where you're at in the main quest. With help from The Witcher 3 console commands, xLetalis moved Vivienne to Skellige then sped up time so that seven full years would pass in-game, and found that Vivienne does indeed drop dead as Geralt warned her. It's a little underwhelming that thanks to an issue with the cloth physics, in xLetalis's playthrough she fell with her dress at a right angle to her legs, and that she can still repeat her greeting dialogue from the floor, but it's neat that there's any kind of follow-up on such a rare circumstance. Not to rain on the parade, but though xLetalis deserves credit for being the first English-speaking easter egg hunter to discover this, German-language site GameStar published a story mentioning it back in 2020. Elena Schultz interviewed a couple of members of CD Projekt Red about secrets and easter eggs, then went hunting based on the hints they dropped and found the same thing: if you wait for seven in-game years, you learn Vivienne really dies a natural death. At least that's how my high-school German translates, "Vivienne stirbt das wirklich eines natürlichen Todes!" https://www.pcgamer.com/theres-a-witcher-3-easter-egg-that-takes-7-in-game-years-to-reveal/

  13. Hogwarts Legacy will arrive on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X at the end of 2022. Hogwarts Legacy — the upcoming open world role-playing game set at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a century before the Harry Potter years — is set to launch at the end of the year. The launch details of the upcoming game were shared during a PlayStation State of Play livestream event held on March 18. Hogwarts Legacy is set in the wizarding world a century before the events of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter franchise, and will arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X later this year. During the PlayStation State of Play event that was streamed on March 17 at 2pm PT (3:30am IST on March 18), developers Avalanche Software gave gamers a peek at what they could expect from Hogwarts Legacy, including the introduction to the game and its many elements, from the story to character creation. Last year, it was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy would allow transgender characters in the game. Players are introduced to different settings and abilities from the game, including various locations at Hogwarts like dungeons and the kitchens, magical creatures, traveling on a broomstick, as well as new characters — such as the villainous dwarf Ranrok, the powerful Professor Figg, and others. The developers showed off the character creation aspect of the game, as well as other parts of the game that will affect gameplay. These include getting sorted into houses, the ability to learn new skills and upgrade them (Talent Points), brewing handy potions, and growing magical plants. Gamers will have access to various classes at Hogwarts, where they will join as a fifth-year student. The game will also feature the familiar village of Hogsmeade, where gamers can purchase ingredients, gear, and more. Learning skills at Hogwarts will help a player investigate rumours of a mounting goblin rebellion that threatens to affect the safety of the school. Gameplay also shows sinister creatures corrupted by magic, goblins, and dark wizards. The goblins are revealed to have allied themselves with dark wizards, but the gameplay trailer does not reveal much more. Meanwhile, the trailer goes on to show various spells such as blasting curses, stunning spells, shield charms, and enchanted weaponry. Combat will have to be adapted to different enemies' weaknesses in order to be effective. During the livestream, gamers were also shown the controls that could be used in the game, which was recorded on a PlayStation 5. The trailer shows off the ability to befriend different characters in the game, including students who have their stories and their own characteristics. The game will also feature the iconic Room of Requirement that will allow gamers to brew potions, sow and harvest plants, and upgrade gear as they catch up to their classmates. The game will also feature dynamic weather that was shown off during the trailer. The game will be released during the holiday season later this year. The po[CENSORED]r game was first announced in September 2020 and scheduled to release in 2021, but was delayed to 2022. Hogwarts Legacy is not associated with J.K. Rowling, the author of the titular Harry Potter series, who made several comments in 2020 viewed as transphobic, and criticised by many, including Harry Potter film stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson. https://gadgets360.com/games/news/hogwarts-legacy-release-date-2022-features-gameplay-spells-harry-potter-game-rowling-2831529

  14. New Microsoft Outlook tool will identify messages that violate accessibility standards Microsoft is preparing to roll out a new feature for email service Outlook that will give users a chance to assess the suitability of their messages before sending. As explained in a new entry to the company’s product roadmap, Outlook users will soon gain access to an upgraded version of the MailTips help service. Available from July onwards, the new-look tool will notify people if their emails do not live up to accessibility standards. “Users will see a MailTip in Outlook recommending to fix accessibility issues before sending email messages to large [groups], external users, or for any messages marked as ‘high importance’. The MailTip will show up at the top of the email compose window,” explained Microsoft. Outlook accessibility With a larger proportion of collaboration taking place over email and cloud-based office software since the start of the pandemic, the need for workers to ensure their communications meet accessibility standards has only become more acute. However, it’s not always easy to remember to perform accessibility checks in the heat of a busy working day. And in some instances, it may be unclear precisely what can be done to make an email more accessible. The upcoming update for MailTips in Outlook should help address both of these problems. “By creating and sending accessible emails, you ensure that recipients can access, read and use the information they contain,” said Microsoft, in a separate explainer. “We are expanding the functionality [of MailTips] to automatically prompt you when an accessibility violation is detected while composing an email to large audiences or external users, for example, and help you fix the issue.” There are a number of ways to configure the new feature, which can be switched on permanently, activated only in certain scenarios (e.g. when a recipient has registered specific accessibility needs), or turned off until a manual accessibility check is performed. The Outlook announcement follows on from a separate update for Microsoft Office, which serves a related purpose. As detailed in a blog post from January, Microsoft 365 customers can now use a new Accessibility Reminder add-on for Word, Excel and PowerPoint to notify colleagues of any additional needs they may have. The idea was to create a non-confrontational way for someone to remind co-workers of their accessibility needs that didn’t involve sending out a dedicated email or instant message. https://www.techradar.com/news/microsoft-outlook-will-alert-you-if-your-emails-arent-up-to-standard

  17. The first gameplay trailer also shows off some potentially more complex stealth gameplay. After a long drought, there's been rush of Vampire: the Masquerade videogames in recent years like the multiplayer battle royale Bloodhunt, the ongoing text adventure series by Choice of Games, and the alarmingly fraught development of Bloodlines 2 all in the shadow of Troika's cult classic, Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines. Vampire: the Masquerade – Swansong, meanwhile, is a promising-looking entry in the VtM canon developed by Big Bad Wolf, creators off the episodic narrative murder mystery, The Council. Swansong is a take on the World of Darkness more reminiscent of Telltale games like The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us than classic RPGs, and Big Bad Wolf recently released a first gameplay trailer showing off the project. Players take control of one of three vampires tasked with investigating a threat to the Boston branch of underground vampire society, the Camarilla. It appears that each of these vampires' stories weave in and out of the others' to form a cohesive narrative, as opposed to say, selecting one from the beginning and seeing the story all the way through. Of the playable characters, Galeb is a member of the blue-blooded Ventrue clan, and seems to have more direct or violent solutions to encounters than the other two. Leysha's deception-based powers and hallucinations she experiences in her story trailer all but confirm she's a member of the fan-favorite clan Malkavian, a bloodline of mad prophets. Nightclub-owner Emem, meanwhile, seems to be a Toreador, with enhanced powers of persuasion and seduction. In addition to multiple-choice dialogue and timed cutscene reactions a la Telltale games, Swansong's first gameplay trailer also showed off character skill trees, as well as mechanics for drinking human blood and hiding the bodies, hinting at deeper gameplay possibilities outside of the cutscenes. https://www.pcgamer.com/vampire-the-masquerade-swansong-promises-a-telltale-style-take-on-the-world-of-darkness/

  20. Amanda Holden is 51 years old and she still looks absolutely stunning in every photo. The Heart radio presenter, Britain's Got Talent judge, singer and actress somehow is still in incredible shape and loved to get glammed up. MyLondon unearthed a photo of Amanda from 1995 and it's baffling how little she has changed in 27 years. The photo dates back to when Amanda was just 24-years-old. In the snap, she wears a black leather top and gazes at the camera while her short red-tinted hair blows in the wind. She looks as stunning then as she does now. At the time she was at the beginning of her acting career, having only appeared as a contestant on Blind Date, starred In Suspicious Circumstances and had a brief cameo on EastEnders. She married comedian Les Dennis in June that year after meeting him in 1993. He was 42 years old at the time. Speaking about their relationship she has said: "We had both been through a lot and met at a time that was perfect for both of us." Amanda went on to establish herself on screen and stage with Kiss Me Kate, The Grimleys, Hearts and Bones, and more. She joined Britain's Got Talent as a judge in 2006 and hasn't looked back. In 2020 released her own album - Songs From My Heart. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/lifestyle/style/incredible-unearthed-photo-of-amanda-holden-proves-she-has-barely-aged-in-27-years/ar-AAVf0zx

  22. Covid cases have continued to rise in the UK, with an estimated one in every 20 people infected, figures from the Office for National Statistic suggest. All age groups are affected, including the 75s and over, who are due a spring booster jab to top up protection. Hospital cases are also rising, but vaccines are still helping to stop many severe cases, say experts. An easily spread sub-variant of Omicron, called BA.2, is now causing most cases. Recent easing of restrictions and waning immunity from the vaccines could be factors behind the rise too. What is the BA.2 variant? Extra Covid booster vaccine in spring How many cases are there in my area? The ONS infection survey, which tests thousands of people randomly in households across the UK, estimates that 3.3 million people would have tested positive in the week ending 12 March - up from 2.6 million the previous week. Record high Scotland has seen infection levels rise for seven weeks in a row. They have now reached a new record high, with 376,300 people estimated to have had Covid last week, or one in 14. Infection rates across the nations were: England: 4.9%, up from 3.8% last week - approximately one in 25 people Wales: 4.1%, up from 3.2% last week - approximately one in 25 people Northern Ireland: 7.1% , down from 7.8% last week - approximately one in 14 people Scotland: 7.15% up from 5.7% last week - approximately one in 14 people It comes as the UK continues to lift previous Covid restrictions. As of Friday, people arriving in the UK will no longer need to take a Covid test, even if they haven't been vaccinated. It is part of the government's Living with Covid strategy that relies on personal responsibility and mass vaccination to protect the public, rather than laws and limits on what people are allowed to do. Scotland's rules on face coverings in shops and on public transport will, however, remain in place until April due to the rise in Covid. Sarah Crofts, head of analytical outputs for the Covid-19 Infection Survey, said Scotland was showing the highest level of infections yet. "It's notable also that infections have risen in all age groups, with the over-70s reaching their highest estimate since our survey began," she added. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-60792087

  23. OnePlus 10R was earlier tipped to launch in China and India in Q2 2022 OnePlus 10R India launch could be very close as the phone has entered private testing in the country, according to the latest reports. A report from January had tipped that OnePlus 10R is set to launch in China and India in Q2 2022 and will sport a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC under the hood. The smartphone is set to follow the company's OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone that was launched in China and is teased to arrive in India and other markets this month. The information about OnePlus 10R entering private testing in India was reported by 91Mobiles citing industry sources. The Chinese company is aiming to bring the OnePlus 10 Pro to India later this month, following which the OnePlus 10R is expected to go official. The OnePlus 10R has been codenamed ‘pickle'. The phone has not launched anywhere yet, leaving us with very few details surrounding the handset. OnePlus 10R specifications (expected) According to a previous report, OnePlus 10R will sport a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC paired with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. As mentioned earlier, OnePlus 10R is tipped to launch in the second quarter of 2022. The phone is said to sport an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It will reportedly be limited to Asian markets like other OnePlus R-series smartphones such as OnePlus 9R and OnePlus 9RT. An alleged design leak of the OnePlus 10R had surfaced via a Weibo post earlier this month. The image leak showed the complete back design of the smartphone, giving us a first glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming handset. The image suggested a rectangular-shaped camera island with bump at the top of the rear panel, consisting of a large primary camera sensor along with an LED flash. The details about secondary camera sensors are not clear yet. The phone is shown to have a curved design with rounded edges. A OnePlus logo can be seen in the middle of the back panel. https://gadgets360.com/mobiles/news/oneplus-10r-india-launch-q2-2022-expected-private-testing-specifications-mediatek-dimensity-9000-soc-2830318

  24. Add context to your stored passwords with notes The built-in password manager in Google Chrome is about to get even better as Google is preparing to add the ability to store notes alongside your passwords. Besides storing your existing passwords, Chrome’s password manager also includes a password generator to help you create strong, unique and complex passwords for each of your online accounts. While you can use a standalone password manager like LastPass or 1Password to store your passwords securely, Google Chrome and most other browsers now offer similar functionality. However, these paid solutions often come with extra features like secure cloud storage and password sharing in addition to letting you store notes about each of your passwords. Now though, it appears that Chrome’s built-in password manager will be getting a big upgrade with the next major release of Google’s browser. Adding notes to your passwords in Chrome As reported by 9to5Google and first spotted by Leo Varela, the latest Chrome Canary release adds a new feature to Chrome’s built-in password manager that will allow you to store notes with your passwords. Once this feature becomes generally available, you’ll see a new “Notes” field underneath the username and password fields in Chrome’s password manager. However, this option will only show up when adding a new password or when you go to edit an existing password. Varela also pointed out in his Reddit post that Google is working on adding the ability to securely send passwords to others as well. Being able to add notes to each of your saved passwords can be quite useful for those with a lot of different online accounts. For instance, you can add a note to give context to the account, to differentiate between a work and personal account or even if you want to back up the answers to the security questions associated with a particular account. Users running Chrome Canary can test out this feature now and Google has even added the #passwords-notes flag to make it easier to enable. As this feature is currently tied to the release of Chrome 101, it should arrive in the Stable channel around April or May but the timing of its arrival could change. https://www.techradar.com/news/google-chrome-password-manager-is-finally-adding-this-must-have-feature
