Today we will be looking at one of the most promising offerings from Razer's esports "PRO" lineup: the BlackWidow V3 PRO wireless mechanical keyboard. We have tried out a ton of wireless keyboards, and almost every product has a trade-off of some kind: either the form factor is not full size, or there is no RGB or the key profile is lowered, or they aren't mechanical at all, to begin with. Razer's BlackWidow V3 PRO is a keyboard which appears to have been made with the professional gamer in mind, makes exactly zero compromises, and just happens to be wireless. When we first got our review sample, almost none of us would have seriously considered getting a wireless keyboard to replace our daily driver mechanicals - until now. Introduction and technical specifications The BlackWidow v3 PRO is, for all intents and purposes, a standard mechanical keyboard with the full set of bells and whistles that one would expect. The keys are Doubleshot ABS plastic that are resistant to wear, and unlike most wireless keyboards that skimp on RGB to save battery life - it has the full set of RGB features (including an illuminated logo!). What's more, the keys are also full-sized, so there would be little to no learning curve when transitioning to this keyboard from a standard mechanical (which isn't something you can say for most low-profile wireless keyboards). The company has even included the typical wrist pad - although it does not attach to the keyboard like most of their other lineup. The BlackWidow V3 keyboard can be had in two major options: Green or Yellow switches. The Green switches are the ones that gamers would mostly be used to (tactile and clicky), while the Yellow ones are for people who want a linear feel, with no click and smaller travel distance. Our sample was the standard Razer Green switch, and writing on the keyboard was no different from any other full-fledged mechanical keyboard. Razer's BlackWidow V3 PRO also features Razer's Hyperspeed wireless technology, which is the fastest in the industry right now (although by a tiny margin). This means that there is virtually no difference between wired and wireless mode (its 1/5th of a millisecond - which is a difference no human can conceivably experience, let alone use). Wccftech Razer BlackWidow v3 PRO Switch Type Razer™ Green Mechanical Switch Key Feel Tactile and Clicky Sizes Full Size Lighting Razer Chroma™ backlighting with 16.8 million customizable color options Wrist Rest Yes Onboard Memory Hybrid onboard storage – up to 5 profiles Media Keys Dedicated Media Controls Passthrough None Connectivity Wired, Wireless (2.4GHz Razer Hyperspeed) and Bluetooth Keycaps Doubleshot ABS Warranty 2 years MSRP $229 Unboxing and our experience The Razer BlackWidow V3 PRO comes in the same packaging as the rest of their lineup - complete with a letter from the CEO, some stickers, and the warranty book and information. The company has also included a wire in case you want to use it in wired mode (or, you know, to charge it). The key construction is of a very high quality, and the space bar is properly weighted as well. We used this keyboard for almost a week and the lack of wiring on the table significantly sleeks up the look of your workplace. Know how Apple wireless keyboards give off a futuristic vibe? A wireless mechanical is much the same. While wireless is the preferred mode of operation, you will need to plug it in once a week or so if you are using it heavily and RGB is on. If you turn off RGB, it will last for at least twice as long. This is a full size keyboard with the complete numpad so productivity is at a maximum. Media keys are also included with the keyboard (although this is one area where we feel Razer could have done better) and along with them - a full sized volume control knob. All that said, a gaming keyboard is only as good as its input lag. The Razer BlackWidow V3 PRO blows away most wireless keyboards we have tested. It is clear that by shifting to this wireless keyboard, a gamer is going to make zero compromises when it comes to speed and input lag. Razer's hyperspeed tech is actually the fastest wireless connectivity around on the planet for gaming mice with an input delay of just 195 microseconds (that is 5 times faster than 1 MS). If we were nitpicking, we would have the following bones to pick with Razer. The keyboard is a bit on the light side in terms of weight. Gamers and consumers in this category usually prefer their keyboard to be a bit on the heavier side - since it is thought to be synonymous with quality. We understand that in order for a wireless keyboard to be portable, it needs to be light, but here - the target audience is very different from the home-theater-media-pc users. This is something that might give off the illusion of low quality - even though this is objectively not the case. Adding weight to this keyboard would be trivial for Razer and making it as heavy as its standard wired line would go a long way in improving customer experience in our opinion. The same goes for the wrist pad - which is too light and may move around a bit while using. Conclusion Razer has come a very long way, and their products (for the past couple of years) absolutely scream quality now. The BlackWidow V3 PRO is a home run in premium wireless keyboards and is targeted dead center at the esports scene for competitive gaming. It is first wireless keyboard we will recommend for competitive play. The company is backing this keyboard with a 2 year warranty - which is the standard period for a full-fledged mechanical keyboard. Because of all these reasons, we have no qualms giving this not-so-little keyboard that could, our editor's choice award.

[Update: Epic Games has officially confirmed that any Fortnite players who make a real-money purchase and are not already a Disney+ subscriber will get two months of the service for free. The offer is not available for existing subscribers.] According to a dataminer, a Fortnite and Disney+ collaboration is coming our way. Twitter user VastBlast found evidence of the partnership by digging through the latest Fortnite patch, v14.50. As stated by the text VastBlast found, players will receive a free two-month subscription to Disney+, as long as they purchase V-Bucks or anything in the Item Shop using real-world money. The perk's exact terms and conditions are unknown, and we'll have to wait until Epic releases an official announcement. Epic and Disney collaborating once again makes sense, especially since Chapter 2, Season 4 is decked out in a Marvel superhero theme. In the past, Epic collaborated with other entertainment corporations too, such as Warner Bros. during Fortnite's DC Villains-themed pack. We've seen John Wick and Star Wars-related content also pop up in Fortnite, and likely will see many more crossovers in the future. In Fortnite's current battle pass, 220 tiers with special rewards are available to unlock. It's by far the most packed Season, and players have reportedly felt exhausted trying to gain experience and get each tier's special rewards. Fortnite's current season will end around November 22. Fortnite is available to play on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. When Xbox Series X/S and PS5 drop, Fortnite will also work on those platforms. Check out our guide on Fortnite's next-generation console improvements for what players can expect. The battle royale game currently can't be found in the Apple App Store or Google Store, and there's an ongoing lawsuit centered around these platforms.

The desktop version of Microsoft Teams is getting a new feature that will allow users to add multiple accounts and manage them without logging in and out. The new feature is likely to be welcomed by employees that have found themselves taking part in a large number of video conference calls since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. For individuals that use Teams frequently, it is quite likely that they employ multiple accounts depending on which clients they are working with. Previously, switching accounts required a Teams user to manually log out before logging back in, resulting in a frustratingly long-winded process and ever-more credentials to remember. Now, it appears that Microsoft is testing a new feature that will allow Teams users to link accounts together, enabling them to switch directly by altering their Settings. The ability to switch accounts is expected to begin rolling out later this year or early next, although test users may gain access to the feature even sooner than that. Check out our list of the best video conferencing software available And here's a list of the best online collaboration software The best business webcams for home working Switching it up The new account switching update is not the only new feature coming to Teams. Microsoft has also confirmed that it is testing a feature that will allow users to create custom pages that will enable businesses or educators to create a more cohesive team identity. Invite links have also been improved, with invited users now gaining access to notes, files – basically anything shared during a call – even after the meeting is finished.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3060 and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics cards alleged specifications have been reported by Kopite7kimi. According to the details, the mainstream GeForce RTX 3060 and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics cards will feature the Ampere GA106 GPU and likely aim at the sub $299 US market. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 & RTX 3050 Ti Graphics Cards Allegedly Based on Ampere GA106 GPU, Expected Core Counts Revealed The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3050 Ti will be replacing the existing RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Ti/SUPER series graphics cards. Both graphics cards will feature the Ampere GA106 GPUs. The GA106 GPU is a mid-range chip for mainstream graphics cards and we expect to see several configurations for this chip for each specific discrete product it's featured within. Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC Dual-Fan Graphics Card Pictured, Features Compact PCB Design For desktops, the GeForce RTX 3060 will be featuring a 30 SM GA106 GPU which will equal 3840 CUDA cores while the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti will be featuring a 28 SM GA106 GPU, equalling 3584 CUDA cores. NVIDIA is likely to feature a 192-bit bus interface on its GA106 class GPUs such as the RTX 3060 along with 6 GB of GDDR6 memory capacity however, it remains to be seen whether the RTX 3050 Ti will carry the same frame buffer or go with a cut-down bus interface of 160-bit for 5 GB of 128-bit for 4 GB capacity. NVIDIA has already released its GeForce GTX 1060 with 5 GB memory capacity across a 160-bit bus interface and we have also seen them test out a 5 GB variant of the RTX 2060 before. It will be very interesting to see how the final specs of both cards, especially the RTX 3050 Ti pan out. Also a first for the RTX lineup, the RTX 3050 Ti would be the first *50 series card to bring ray-tracing to gaming segment. We can also expect a non-Ti variant but that has not been confirmed yet. Apparently, one retailer in Saudi Arabia has already received stock of the custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards from Gigabyte & put them on sale. The card that is being sold in particular is the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle which was leaked a few hours ago by Videocardz. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Graphics Card To Feature 10,496 CUDA Cores, 20 GB GDDR6X Memory & 320W TGP, Tackles AMD’s RX 6800 XT This happens to be a clear embargo breach or lack of embargo from the looks of it. The card is on sale for 3,699 Saudi Riyal while the Eagle OC variant is listed for 3,799 Saudi Riyal as spotted by @Harukaze5719 which equals around $1000 US. This is no way what anyone should be paying for this card which is expected to cost around $399 US. It looks like the retailer is clearly trying to earn an extra dime by selling an unreleased product. We have confirmed with our sources that the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti card has indeed been pushed back from its original launch in November. The card is expected to launch on 2nd December & will feature a price of around $399 US with custom variants featuring a slight premium.

Resident Evil Village--the follow-up to the much-acclaimed Resident Evil 7--still doesn't have a firm release date, but we do have some new details on the game from its new PlayStation Store page. Village will support many of the PlayStation 5's new features, particularly its native solid-state drive for fast load times and the adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller. The page reiterates several aspects of Village that we already knew: That it stars Ethan Winters, the protagonist of Resident Evil 7, and is set a few years after Ethan and his wife Mia escaped from the horrors of the bayou. It also notes that Village will support 4K with HDR and ray tracing, as well as the PS5's Tempest 3D AudioTech, which will likely serve to enhance the horror atmosphere of the game. As mentioned above, the PS5's solid-state drive will apparently remove much in the way of loading screens too. Perennial RE favorite Chris Redfield will also make an appearance in Village, just like in Resident Evil 7. However, it appears that he will play a much larger role in this follow-up, and his goals are still unknown. Resident Evil Village is set for a 2021 release on the PlayStation 5, the Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC. Developer Capcom has indicated that the game may come to PS4 or Xbox One eventually, but that has not been confirmed. The overall design of Village will abandon the cramped corridors of 7's single house for a wide, non-linear environment.

Keeping your home office or workspace clear of clutter can be difficult which is why Zoom, Teams and other po[CENSORED]r video conferencing software allow you to use a custom background. After revealing that it would add the option to replace your background back in July, Google is now rolling out the option to do so in Google Meet for both paid customers and users with personal Google accounts. Users will be able to choose from one of the search giant's own hand-picked images which include office space, landscapes and abstract backgrounds or they can choose their own image. We've put together a list of the best video conferencing software available These are the best online collaboration tools on the market Also check out our roundup of the best project management software Custom backgrounds In a blog post announcing the availability of custom backgrounds in Meet, Google explains that they can be used to show more of a user's personality as well as help hide their surroundings. The new feature, in addition to the ability to filter out disruptive background noise and blur your background, will also help ensure that meetings are more productive. According to Google, virtual backgrounds will work directly within a user's browser and they do not require an extension or any additional software to use. At launch, the feature will work on ChromeOS and in the Chrome browser on Windows and Mac but it will also be coming to Meet's mobile apps for Android and iOS at a later date. One thing to keep in mind is the fact that admins will have no control over this feature at launch so organizations should plan accordingly and come up with their own guidelines on the use of custom backgrounds. The ability to use custom backgrounds in Meet is turned off by default but users can visit Google's Help Center to find out exactly how to change their background in Google Meet.

Intel has announced some more details about its homegrown Xe MAX dedicated GPU and along with it a brand new platform technology: Intel Deep Link. Deep Link basically allows Intel to utilize the integrated graphics, dedicated graphics, and processor simultaneously for workloads where possible. Xe MAX combined with an iGPU beats out an NVIDIA MX 350 in graphics workloads and decimates the same in AI-related workloads. Intel Xe MAX with Deep Link: Slightly better than MX350 in games, decimates an RTX 2080 in AI-related workloads using Deep Link The Intel Iris Xe MAX discrete GPU features the same 96 EUs as its integrated counterpart but unlike the latter, it has a higher TDP envelope that can push the clock speed to 1.65GHz and also contains a dedicated 4GB memory. It features variable-rate shading and Intel DLBoost and works over PCIe 4.0. The core architecture is Intel Xe LP just like its integrated sibling. Intel Iris Xe (iGPU) and Xe MAX (dGPU) are practically the same GPU so its not surprising that Intel wanted to find a platform technology that would allow them to pool their resources and beat out a competitor. Intel Deep Link is the name of that technology. It is a platform innovation that allows Intel to tap not only the integrated GPU and dedicated GPU together - but also the CPU itself. Compared to cross-vendor configurations (for example NVIDIA-Intel), only one device would run a specific workload. Intel Iris Xe MAX GPU gaming and AI benchmarks No announcement would be complete without some first-party benchmarks and Intel does not disappoint on this count. The Intel Iris Xe MAX notebook easily beats out NVIDIA's MX350 in 8/10 scenarios given in this benchmark. I also appreciate the fact that it looks like Intel has tried not to cherry-pick benchmarks and actually give a few examples where the NVIDIA MX350 beats the Intel Xe MAX solution like Borderlands 3 and Gears Tactics. However, Intel Iris Xe MAX GPU is seen to offer more consistent performance throughout the gaming tiers and absolutely destroys the MX350 in some heavy AAA titles like Metro Exodus. Since it can achieve 30+ fps on most AAA titles on low-medium setting, I would say this is the first entry-level gaming solution from Intel in years. AI and productivity-related workloads on the other hand are a completely different scenario. Since Intel's Iris Xe MAX GPU already features DL Boost and on top of that Deep Link allows the notebook to distribute AI workloads to all three devices, an Xe MAX equipped notebook absolutely decimates its weight class and even hands out a solid beating to NVIDIA's RTX 2080 flagship mobility GPU. In encoding, Intel's benchmarks found the Intel Deep Link-based solution to be a resounding 78% faster than an NVIDIA RTX 2080! Intel's Deep Link technology is a nerd's wet dream. The complete utilization of available resources with almost no wastage is exactly how things should be configured and embodies the 'to-the-metal' philosophy that has made consoles so powerful in the recent past. The best part is, we might actually see Deep Link enabled in some gaming applications since Intel was tightlipped but mentioned that they are working on adding more applications to the platform. The Dynamic Power sharing also allows the company to fine tune performance (similar to AMD) in TDP constrained scenarios. Intel® Iris® Xe MAX graphics are available for Acer Swift 3x, Asus VivoBook Flip TP470 and Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2 in 1 starting today. These are the first devices to leverage 11th Gen Intel Core mobile processors, Intel Iris Xe MAX graphics and Intel Deep Link technology. The full press deck for Intel Iris Xe MAX launch is given below:

Apex Legends Season 7: Ascension begins on November 4 and introduces a brand-new map (Olympus) as well as a playable legend called Horizon. After getting hands-on time with both, we finally know what Horizon's abilities are. Horizon's passive ability, Spacewalk, increases her air control and prevents her from being stunned upon falling from great heights. Her tactical ability, Gravity Lift, throws out a device that temporarily reverses gravity, allowing her to send herself, allies, enemies, or the new Trident vehicles flying into the air. Finally, Horizon's ultimate ability, Black Hole, sees her create a micro black hole that sucks in all nearby players. Horizon isn't the only thing mixing up Apex Legends in Season 7 either--far from it. I sat down with Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier to talk about how Horizon fits into the in-match meta, as well as the new in-game clubs, Trident vehicle, and character balancing changes coming in Season 7. What role do you hope Horizon fulfills in Apex Legends' in-match meta? As an assault Legend, we want her up-close and personal in the fight. But what she brings is verticality and crowd control. So with her Gravity Lift tactical she can very quickly move herself [and] her entire squad up to a higher elevation, whether it's a rooftop or a bridge, or whatever it is. So you can get that advantage over the enemy very quickly. And then with her ultimate, Black Hole, you can use that in two ways. You can throw it in the middle of a crowd and suck them all into a single point and then just focus fire, or you can use it to deny a certain area. So if you throw it into a doorway, then you know the enemies aren't going to run through that doorway, and you can perhaps flank around through another route and pinch them. So her abilities are really about getting an advantage with height and then controlling the enemy flow. What we found is it's a fun combination, and you can definitely do some fun and exciting things that make you laugh. Will Horizon's abilities curve energy bullets, like the Gravity Star did in Titanfall 2? Yeah, the Black Hole does influence objects that are near it, so grenades, projectiles, things like that do get influenced by the change in gravity. And you're right, it is like the Gravity Star. It's a little bit less punishing, I think. We need to balance for a [battle royale] game. You can do a lot of fun things with [Horizon's abilities]. Anytime you're messing with gravity, there's a lot of unexpected things that can happen when you're playing--you have a lot of happy accidents that are just hilarious and fun. So Horizon is the third female character added to Apex Legends in Year 2, and like the first two, she's not big enough to get the Fortified perk. Will we ever see another character either chonky or buff enough to warrant the Fortified perk, and is there any chance that one could be a woman? I think you will, but those legends tend to be a little bit harder to balance. And so in Season 7, we're making further changes to try to address the hitbox for Pathfinder, and you'll see that in the patch notes. But the small and the large character sizes present additional challenges and so we've been trying to focus on the normal sized Legends. But we have some legends that we're working on now that are of different sizes, so you will see them eventually. Horizon excels at crowd control and navigating vertical landmarks, making her a very powerful force in enclosed spaces. Will we finally see a new passive ability for Pathfinder in Season 7? My good robotic boi feels a little lacking given that both Bloodhound and Crypto can perform the same basic next ring reveal function that he can. We're keeping that change for now. I think it's in a pretty good place to get the extra cool down benefit from using the tower. Pathfinder is always a topic of discussion because he's in a healthier place now, but he was dominating player pick rates, player encounter win rates, and game win rates. So there's multiple ways to address that. You can buff other characters, which we definitely do sometimes. But we try not to nerf, we'd rather bring everyone else up to a certain level. But if you're a good Pathfinder player, you have such an advantage with grappling. So, we're always looking at Pathfinder, but we have a lot of Pathfinder mains that respond to changes. And so I think, hopefully, that we're hitting a good balance. We're trying to do things that are fair and can be understood by the players, without taking away what makes Pathfinder fun to play. How did the stats on the backend for legend picks for Season 6: Boosted look? Are any of the legends still dominating in regards to pick rate? And, conversely, are there any that you're looking at and thinking, "Hrm, the pick rate is still a little too low"? They're in a pretty good place right now. Pick rate is not necessarily the best stat to look at because people get comfortable with certain legends or they like their personality, or whatever it might be. It doesn't necessarily indicate that they're OP or not. So we tend to look at encounter rate [and] win rate--if a Pathfinder goes against every other Legend, what are the encounter win rates? And we have this multidimensional grid that we look at, alongside a bunch of other metrics. But we feel like they're actually in a pretty healthy place. Each time that we modify these legends, we bring the balance slightly closer together. I think trying to achieve perfect balance between all legends is a bit of a fool's errand, I don't think it's actually possible. What we're looking to do is constantly try to keep them as close as possible, but also buffing certain legends in certain seasons so that you get a rotating shuffle of which legends might be more effective than others. And we're talking 0.1% differences here, but I think having an evolving, changing game is important and we're never going to achieve this perfect balance. We just want to get it as close as we can, and then constantly be switching that up. I can't believe that you actually look at how each legend stacks up to every other legend in terms of win rates and encounter rates. With a brand-new character every season, that's an increasingly more complex set of variables. Yeah, I know. We have almost real time stats, so we can look and see just about anything we need to. So it's great to have good backend tools to see what's happening. A lot of times, player sentiment or feedback from the community will sometimes be backed up by the data, and sometimes it's the complete opposite. So obviously, the people playing the game and their thoughts come first. Just because something is factually happening doesn't mean it's perceived that way. And so we tend to lean more on what people are saying and how people are feeling more than the actual data, but it is good to see the data when we need it. There are a lot of landmarks on Olympus--including the restaurant where Revenant killed Loba's parents. How will clubs be monitored to prevent the creation of harmful spaces within the community or to limit club names that may be racist, sexist, or discriminatory in some other way? It's both automated and manual. We've got a system in place that will automatically check for certain keywords or terms being used in clan tags. And some of them are crowdsourced so it's an EA back end thing. So if somebody creates something that's offensive that's flagged on another EA game, it propagates into the same system that's checking our system. So that automated piece is in place. We've also got a report functionality. So if you see something that you want to report that was not caught by the automated system, you can report it and then a human looks at that. We've also got some tools to just look at everything as a whole, even if it's not reported and make sure that we're in a good place. But once there's millions of clubs created, it's a bit harder to manually validate every single one, so we're going to rely on the automation and reporting tools. When someone does a report, how does that work? Does it just go into the ether and the player has to hope that something happens? Or is there a follow-up email or message back letting them know how the situation is being handled? So when they hit report, it goes to a person for review, but I'm not sure if they get an email or anything like that. That's a good question, I just don't have the answer because like I said, it's an EA system. How many Tridents spawn on Olympus. Are they spawned in random spots? The vehicles spawn around the map in fixed locations so that you can learn the location of them. They're marked on the mini map and things like that, so they're easy to find. And we want people to jump in and start using them. Will the Trident make its way to Kings Canyon or World's Edge? They're exclusive to [Olympus]. Now that we have vehicles in the game, I think we're going to find that some of our designers are playing with them in new ways and experimenting how to use that tech in the game. But as of right now, Olympus is the only map built with vehicles in mind--it's got highways, roads, and open areas that you can drive through. Of course, it's also got dense towns and points of interest to fight in more close quarters scenarios. But this map was built with vehicles in mind, while Kings Canyon and World's Edge were not. So as of right now, vehicles are only in Olympus. Certain legends can attach their abilities to the Trident--for instance, Rampart can attach her Emplaced Minigun "Sheila." With the introduction of vehicles, will the abilities of movement-based characters like Pathfinder, Wraith, and Octane be altered in any way? Well, the vehicles, they're different. The mobility-based legends have mobility even in the densely po[CENSORED]ted areas and within the cities. So the [Trident] is really only great for traversing the open ground quickly. It's not going to help you in a gunfight. True. It did not help me in the gunfight that I was in earlier. You've got to pretty much just hop off the vehicle. If the vehicle takes any damage, you'll take some damage and that's by design. We didn't want the vehicle to become a weapon or a tool to help you fight, we wanted it as a means of transport. And then, once you see another squad, you quickly disembark and then go about your normal way of trying to win the fight. What types of next-gen upgrades can we expect for Apex Legends? Will the game take advantage of any of the new hardware or accessories--PS5's DualSense controller, for example? Yeah. A native Apex Legends game that takes advantage of next-gen tech and new controller hardware--that's in the works at Respawn. On day one, we are going to be a game that can be played via backwards compatibility, but with some upgrades. So we've optimized some of our code to take advantage of the additional hardware on the system, so you'll see better performance. We were able to do some code to take advantage of some of the hardware, but there's certainly a lot more coming. But for now, we wanted to make sure that we can at least take advantage of that extra hardware that's in there. We'll be doing that, faster loading times, better frame rates, better texture, framing and budgets, and things like that.

Windows 10’s desktop interface will get an all-new look that should arrive later in 2021, rumor has it. Sources who have spoken to Zac Bowden at Windows Central have talked about a major revamp for the UI which is codenamed ‘Sun Valley’, and the current plan is that it should debut with the H2 2021 feature update (which would seem to indicate this won’t be a minor update, unlike the current and previous H2 upgrades for Windows 10). How to speed up Windows 10 We solve 100 common Windows 10 problems How to uninstall a Windows 10 update Sources currently believe that we’ll get an overhauled Start menu and Action Center, which would seem like a good bet given that these are critical pieces of the UI puzzle. These are likely to be based on changes being made for Windows 10X, but made more appropriate for desktop PCs – and this is no great surprise. We’ve already seen that Microsoft is using design ideas and interface elements from Windows 10X in vanilla Windows 10. Exploring new appearances We can also expect a revamp for File Explorer itself – the windows you use to look at folders and files on the desktop – which, let’s face it, could use some modernization. All of this design work, incidentally, aims to bring a more modern look to Windows 10, and will apparently be a refinement of Fluent Design (but probably still referred to by the same name, which Microsoft has been using for a while now). Furthermore, Windows 10’s taskbar will be updated with modern code, according to the report, and tablet users will get a more seamless and ‘fluid’ experience along with improved animations. We can expect minor tweaks throughout the Windows 10 desktop, and further work on dark mode, bringing support for it to legacy areas of the interface, so there’ll be less jarring instances when navigating to older bits of UI when dark mode is switched on. In short, Windows 10 will look more consistent, as well as modern. Remember, all of this is what’s purportedly currently planned, and the rumor mongers may have it wrong – or indeed Microsoft’s aims may change down the line, anyway. This is supposedly for an update which won’t land for a year yet, after all, so there’s still a long way to go. Doubtless if ‘Sun Valley’ is now underway, we’ll start seeing some of these changes filtering through to preview versions of Windows 10 perhaps early next year – or maybe even sooner.

%7B Hurricane Zeta live updates: At least 1 dead after Category 2 storm makes… %7B Oklahoma State vs Texas Prediction, Game Preview Apex Legends’ season 7 launch trailer gives fans a look at Olympus, the Trident, and Horizon’s skills Video player from: YouTube (Privacy Policy, Terms) © Provided by Dot Esports Apex Legends’ next season is still one week away, but the latest launch trailer gave fans a glimpse of several new additions that are on the way in season seven. The cinematic shows more views of Olympus, gives a first look at Horizon’s skillset, and shares more detail on the Trident vehicle. The launch trailer begins just after the events of the season six quest, The First Ship. Mirage accidentally put all of Rampart’s belongings in the Hammond Robotics rocket in World’s Edge, which takes off into Olympus. The two legends chase after it with a little help from Pathfinder and find themselves in the new arena. Olympus Mirage, Rampart, and Pathfinder get a clear view of Olympus when the trio enters its airspace. The new arena looks like a city with several high-rise buildings and a series of roads and walkways in sight. Although it has plenty of open space, it doesn’t look as large as Kings Canyon or World’s Edge—one possible explanation is that Olympus is a suspended city and space is constricted. The map appears to have a more urban atmosphere. In addition to skyscrapers, the trailer shows numerous small houses (one even has an outdoor patio table with an umbrella), lots of room for foot and vehicle traffic, and we get a brief glimpse of a plaza-like area during the final Trident chase. Of course, common elements long associated with Olympus are also in the arena. The terrain is filled with pink cherry blossom trees and the red balloons (which presumably help keep the city in the air) appear in the video. The UFO from the teasers also seems to show up briefly on-screen. Fans spotted a mysterious object in one of the devstreams and data miner Shrugtal reconstructed it using Blender. The recreated version shows a “park-like” area with cherry blossoms, park benches, trash cans, and even a mini-mart—and it could be a part of Olympus, according to him. The area shows up on the top left of the map, but it’s unclear if the POI will see any changes from Shrugtal’s recreation. Horizon’s abilities The launch trailer didn’t just give us a glimpse of the Olympian landscape, though. It also showed firsthand what Horizon’s kit looks like. Earlier data-mined information showed that the scientist’s skills revolved around mani[CENSORED]ting gravity and the latest cinematic confirmed it. Horizon’s tactical ability works similarly to the gravity lifts in Apex. It creates a gravity beam that lifts up anyone who steps on it. It can be an easy way to reach higher ground for allies—or a death trap for enemies, as the launch trailer shows. Horizon’s ultimate also makes an appearance in the launch trailer. In the cinematic, the scientist throws an ordnance that creates a gravitational pull, similar to a black hole, and traps the enemy squad close together—just close enough that Pathfinder can take them all out with a single grenade. After we saw her ultimate, Horizon’s passive seems to show up as well. Instead of landing clumsily like other legends, she has a flawless landing—reportedly one of her skills. The Trident Apex‘s first pilotable vehicle is a three-person ship called the Trident. The pilot sits in the center, protected behind a small windshield, and the other two squadmates are in seats on each side. Respawn teased the Trident by adding it as a gun charm at the end of the season six quest, but the launch trailer goes in much more detail about it. The two gunners will be able to fire at enemies, based on the launch trailer. Pathfinder fires a few shots and Mirage throws a grenade while holding onto the vehicle. In the cinematic, the Forward Scout also jumps out of the vehicle, fires some rounds, and grapples back into it—a stylish maneuver that may or may not make its way to Apex. The Trident may have a weakness, however. The launch trailer shows Rampart decommissioning Horizon’s vehicle with a charged-up shot from the Sentinel. Tridents may be vulnerable to weapon fire and the Sentinel’s built-in Disruptor Rounds might deal extra damage to the vehicles. It’s unclear if other sources of electricity, like Arc-Stars and Wattson fences, will also be a good way to stop the Trident in its tracks. Players can experience Olympus in full in just a week when Apex‘s season seven launches on Nov. 4.
