Y parece ser que la promesa poco a poco se va cumpliendo, algo que se hace extensible a las diferentes aplicaciones que forman parte de la suite Office. Os contamos todo esto porque a lo largo de los últimos meses hemos visto cómo soluciones software tan importantes como el editor de textos, Word, recibía funciones IA. Asimismo, su interfaz de usuario se va adaptando a estas nuevas herramientas inteligentes, tanto a nivel funcional como de aspecto. Sin embargo, tal y como veremos a continuación, no todos los cambios que aquí se producen son positivos y beneficiosos para el usuario. De hecho, ahora mismo el gigante del software acaba de introducir un importante cambio, eliminando una función muy útil en el mencionado Word, a favor de su IA Copilot. Pero por lo visto las ventajas no están siendo las esperadas en un principio. Al parecer ahora Microsoft Word elimina la búsqueda inteligente en favor del mencionado Copilot en su aplicación para Windows 11. Y es que en su afán por introducir la inteligencia artificial en todos sus productos, la empresa ha decidido deshacerse de la práctica búsqueda inteligente de Word. Como muchos ya sabréis de primera mano, esta función permitía buscar fácilmente la definición de una palabra con un par de clics de ratón. Ahora la herramienta como tal ha quedado obsoleta dando paso a la IA de la empresa. Esto es algo que se produjo en el pasado 1 de enero de 2025, tal y como nos informan. Copilot no funciona demasiado bien en Word De ahí que en estos instantes podemos afirmar que el gigante del software está eliminando algunas funciones muy útiles de sus programas, para así dar paso a la inteligencia artificial propia. Todo ello con el sano fin de que nos acostumbremos a utilizar Copilot en la mayoría de sus aplicaciones y plataformas. Pero ya hemos visto que esto no siempre es tan beneficioso como nos gustaría. La búsqueda inteligente que acaban de retirar permitía a los usuarios de Microsoft Word buscar rápidamente definiciones, sinónimos e información contextual para una palabra o frase. Además, todo esto se hacía sin salir del documento ni utilizar programas de terceros. Todo lo que había que hacer era pulsar el botón derecho del ratón sobre una palabra y seleccionar Buscar en el menú contextual. En ese momento aparecía un panel de resultados en la parte derecha de la ventana del documento. Aquí veíamos definiciones, artículos de la Wikipedia y otros resultados de búsqueda en la web a través de Bing. Era algo extremadamente útil para llevar a cabo todo tipo de documentos de investigación o trabajos académicos. Pero todo ello ahora ha desaparecido a favor de la mencionada IA que Microsoft se ha empeñado en que utilicemos. Es más, la propia empresa, tal y como os contamos hace solo unos días, ahora ya ha cambiado la nomenclatura de su suite ofimática por el nombre de Microsoft 365 Copilot, con lo que deja patente sus objetivos actuales. Realme Buds Air 7 have been launched in India. The TWS earphones are claimed to offer a battery life of up to 13 hours on a single charge. They are said to provide a total playback time of up to 52 hours with the case. The earphones have an IP55 dust and splash resistance rating. They support dual-device connectivity, LHDC 5.0 audio codec, up to 52dB active noise cancellation (ANC) and carry 12.4mm brass drivers. The headsets were unveiled in China in February. Turkish authorities have detained the mayor of Istanbul, just days before he was due to be selected as a presidential candidate. Ekrem Imamoglu, from the secular Republican People's Party (CHP), is seen as one of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's strongest political rivals. Prosecutors accused him of corruption and aiding a terrorist group, calling him a "criminal organisation leader suspect". Police detained 100 people - including other politicians, journalists and businessmen - as part of the investigation, and the Istanbul governor's office has imposed four days of restrictions in the city. Imamoglu said online "the will of the people cannot be silenced". In a social media video he said he filmed while police were outside his home, he vowed to "stand resolute" for the people of Turkey "and all who uphold democracy and justice worldwide". And in a handwritten note posted on his X account after his arrest, he said the people of Turkey would respond to "the lies, the conspiracies and the traps" against him. Protests have erupted on Turkey's streets and university campuses, and in underground stations, with crowds chanting anti-government slogans. It is a display of public anger not seen in years. There were reports of clashes between protesters and police in Turkey's largest city. Reuters news agency footage shows police using pepper spray pellets to disperse crowds outside Istanbul University. The government has banned public gatherings in Istanbul as part of the four days of restrictions. But more protests are anticipated nationwide as opposition leaders, including Imamoglu's wife, urge people to "raise their voices". Many streets in Istanbul have also been closed to traffic, while some metro lines have also cancelled their services. UK-based internet watchdog Netblocks said on Wednesday Turkey had severely restricted access to social media sites like X, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. 'A coup against our next president' The arrest comes as part of a major crackdown nationwide in recent months, targeting opposition politicians, municipalities, journalists and figures in the entertainment industry. Following the Istanbul mayor's arrest, concerns over Turkey's shift toward autocracy were expressed on social media, with some calling for an opposition boycott of the upcoming presidential elections, arguing that a fair and democratic vote is no longer possible. Imamoglu's party, the CHP, even condemned the arrests as "a coup against our next president", a sentiment widely echoed by pro-opposition voices. But Turkey's justice minister criticised those who linked Erdogan to the arrests. Yilmaz Tunc said it was "extremely dangerous and wrong" to suggest this was a political move, insisting that nobody was above the law in Turkey. Our spy photographers caught a glimpse of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck. The new photos show a heavily camouflaged crew-cab configuration and give us our first look at the interior screen setup for the upcoming truck. The new pickup is expected to arrive sometime next year as a 2027 model-year vehicle. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is immensely po[CENSORED]r. Across the Silverado lineup in the United States, Chevy sold more than 540,000 trucks last year alone. Now, our spy photographers have caught a glimpse of what appears to be the next-generation Silverado 1500, which we expect to show up late next year as a 2027 model. The overall size and shape of the Silverado appear to stay in line with the current truck, but it's hard to gather specifics without seeing under the prototype's heavy camouflage. We can see what look to be production-ready headlights peaking out from behind the coverings. The new units appear to emulate the jagged LED design found on the current crop of Chevy HD trucks. The back of the truck sports a new quad-tip exhaust design that replaces the current dual-exhaust look. The photos also give us our first look at the Silverado's updated interior, which will clearly feature ample screen acreage. From what we can see, the dashboard houses one continuous slab of glass extending from in front of the driver toward the center of the cabin. We've seen General Motors implement a similar design on a number of Cadillac models that feature a giant 33.0-inch screen stretching across the dash.Under the hood, we don't expect Chevy to make any drastic engine changes with the arrival of the next generation. The iconic 90s hip-hop artist was known for his pained intensity. But Dear Mama, a tribute to his mother Afeni, showed off his softer side – and still brings listeners to tears. "Not everyone is so lucky and gets to experience the love of a mother for a long time," explains DJ Master Tee, whose words are staggered due to deep emotion, before he starts to cry down the phone. "A lot of people's mothers died way too early… and I think Tupac Shakur understood that well," the producer continues. "He didn't just want to make a song that celebrated the mothers who are here, but also the ones that passed away." DJ Master Tee made the original silky-smooth beat (which was later adapted by co-producer Tony Pizarro) for Dear Mama, the late rap legend Tupac's candid tribute to the many sacrifices of his single mother Afeni Shakur. She was an activist in the radical political group The Black Panthers, who subsequently struggled with drug addiction and to make ends meet while raising her two children. This song is the pained yet ultimately joyful epicentre of Tupac's otherwise death-obsessed third studio album, Me Against the World, which was released 30 years ago this month. In the context of an album where Tupac shifts from suicidal (So Many Tears) to grief-stricken (Lord Knows), repeatedly using the word "hopeless", Dear Mama feels like uncovering a diamond at the bottom of a pitch-black mine. "Even as a crack phene, momma / You always were a black queen, momma," he famously rapped. This lyric alone represented a radical shift in rap storytelling in the way it represented victims of the so-called Crack Era, when use of the drug soared across the US during the 1980s and 90s. Previously, rap artists had stripped away the humanity of crack addicts via slurs such as "basehead" and "zombie". But, Tee says, Tupac saw addicts "as victims of the state, who needed our support". And although Tupac expresses sadness over a childhood with little money – where he and his sister Sekyiwa observed the matriarch of their family descend into the hell of addiction – he leads with empathy for Afeni Shakur's struggle. He chants out all his words with a bear-hug warmth, confirming that he never stopped seeing Afeni as a superhero. In celebrating her, Tupac serves to pay respect to the struggle of single mothers everywhere, as well as mothers full stop – a sentiment the whole world can appreciate. This is reflected in the numbers, with the song racking up over 345 million streams on Spotify alone. Judging by some of the headlines today in Russia, Moscow believes that the latest telephone conversation between Presidents Putin and Trump went well - certainly for the Kremlin. "Putin and Trump agreed to work together on Ukraine resolution," concludes Izvestia. "Record-long Putin-Trump call," declares Komsomolskaya Pravda. The paper's website adds: "As things stand Russia has scored a diplomatic victory here." Why are some in Russia claiming "victory" after this two-hour phone call? Probably because, by the end of it, Vladimir Putin hadn't been pressured into making any major concessions to Ukraine or to the United States. On the contrary, he had - in effect - rejected President Trump's idea of an immediate unconditional 30-day ceasefire. Follow latest updates on this story Instead of pressuring Moscow with the threat of even tougher sanctions and penalties, to get Russia to sign up to its plan, the US administration reacted by praising the Kremlin leader. "We had a great call," Donald Trump told Fox News. "I would commend President Putin for all he did today on that call to move his country close to a final peace deal," said Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff. Not only did Moscow not agree to an unconditional ceasefire, President Putin set his own pre-conditions for peace. They include an end to Western military aid to Kyiv and intelligence sharing with the Ukrainians, as well as a halt to mobilisation in Ukraine. Such conditions are widely viewed as a way of securing Ukraine's capitulation. It's hard to see Kyiv agreeing to any of that.
