  2. Metal Gear Survive is an action-adventure survival game developed and published by Konami. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in February 2018. It is the first Metal Gear game to be developed following the series' creator Hideo Kojima's departure from Konami in late 2015, and the first since Snake's Revenge without Kojima's input.[1][2] The game takes place in the time period between Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and follows a soldier of Big Boss who enters a parallel dimension and joins forces with a local command center in order to unravel the mysteries of a strange virus that turns people into zombie-like creatures. Metal Gear Survive received a mixed reception from critics. Mostly positive responses were given to its gameplay, with its rewarding sense of progression in single-player and satisfaction from multiplayer and co-op receiving praise, however concern was expressed over some of the mechanics, with the majority of complaints being directed at the story, characters, and inclusion of microtransactions. The game was deemed a commercial failure due to Konami's recent controversial business decisions and Kojima's departure from the company.[3] System Requirements Minimum 1.OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64, Windows 10x64 (64-bit OS Required) 2.Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better. 3.Memory: 4GB RAM. 4.Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better. 5.DirectX: Version 11. 6.Storage: 20 GB available space. 3. China has told the US to withdraw sanctions on its military over purchases of Russian jets and missiles or "bear the consequences". The US says China has contravened US sanctions on Moscow introduced over Russian actions in Ukraine and alleged interference in US politics. China recently bought 10 Russian Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets and S-400 missiles. Beijing has not joined in the sanctions imposed on Moscow by the US and its Western allies since 2014. Its forces took part in giant Russian war games held earlier this month. Sanctions: What are they and why do countries use them? China's 'globalised' military power China is fast becoming a manufacturer of sophisticated weaponry in its own right but it remains eager to buy advanced Russian weaponry, especially air defence systems and combat aircraft. Moscow - after years of some reluctance - is now more willing to transfer this sort of weaponry to Beijing. What other reaction has there been? The BBC's China correspondent, Stephen McDonell, says that while it seems like strong language from the foreign ministry spokesman, just how angry Beijing is will become clearer when they say what their retaliation will be. Russia has also criticised the sanctions on the Chinese military, warning the US against "playing with fire". "It would be good for them to remember there is such a concept as global stability which they are thoughtlessly undermining by whipping up tensions in Russian-American ties," Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in a statement. US officials have said the sanctions are aimed at Russia, and are not intended to undermine other countries' defence capabilities and similar action against other countries could be considered. Are sanctions a fading weapon? By Jonathan Marcus, BBC Defence & Diplomatic Correspondent The target of these sanctions is Russia rather than China but the impact is likely to be to encourage co-operation between Beijing and Moscow who, to a large extent, already share a worldview and resist what they see as Washington's efforts to throw its weight around. China's developing military relationship with Russia was underscored by its participation at the recent Vostok exercises and it is not going to halt sophisticated weapons purchases from Russia. The US move could just deepen the already tense trading relationship with Beijing. Sanctions may be a good way of registering US displeasure and causing Russia economic pain, but they may well not produce the desired outcome, a change in Russian policy. The world's economic balance of power is slowly changing - sanctions imposed by a once-dominant US is a weapon that is gradually weakening and some believe their overuse could accelerate this process. Who is affected by the sanctions? China's Equipment Development Department (EDD), which is responsible for improving China's military technology, and its head, Li Shangfu, are sanctioned for completing "significant transactions" with Russia's state arms exporter, Rosoboronexport. The EDD and Mr Li have been added to a Blocked Persons List, meaning any assets they hold in the US are frozen and Americans are "generally prohibited" from doing business with them. Furthermore, the EDD is denied export licences and excluded from the American financial system. Washington also blacklisted an additional 33 people and entities associated with Russian military and intelligence. What other US-China tensions are there? The two countries are currently embroiled in an escalating trade war. President Donald Trump has imposed three waves of tariffs on about 40% of China's roughly $500bn of exports to the US and has also threatened further tariffs. US trade and a tale of two Chinas China has responded with tariffs on about $110bn of US exports. In 2017 China imported about $130bn of goods from the US. There have also been some tensions over disputed territory in the South China Sea, which is subject to overlapping claims by six countries. China has been accused of militarising the sea to support its vast claims. China lands bombers in South China Sea The US says it is "committed to a free and open Indo-Pacific" and has sailed warships close to artificial islands built by Beijing to challenge what it sees as Chinese efforts to restrict freedom of navigation in a strategically important area.

  5. Asia Cup Group A, Dubai Pakistan 162 (43.1 overs): Babar 47, Malik 43, Kumar 3-15, Jadhav 3-23 India 164-2 (29 overs): Rohit 52, Dhawan 46 India won by eight wickets India thumped Pakistan by eight wickets - and with 21 overs to spare - to top Group A at the Asia Cup in Dubai. Pakistan, who will join their opponents in the Super Four stage, were out for 162, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kedar Jadhav taking three wickets each. Rohit Sharma, India's captain in place of the rested Virat Kohli, struck 52 off 39 balls in reply and Shikhar Dhawan hit 46 before both openers fell. Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik both made 31 not out to take India to 164-2. It is India's biggest margin of victory over Pakistan in terms of balls remaining in one-day internationals. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat but were reduced to 3-2 as seamer Kumar (3-15) removed openers Imam ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman in successive overs. Babar Azam (47) and Shoaib Malik (43) put on a stand of 82 before left-arm leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled Babar and Malik was run out by Rayudu. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, with off-spinning all-rounder Jadhav claiming 3-23 and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah taking 2-23, leaving India a target that they eased to once Rohit and Dhawan had hit 86 for the first wicket. During Pakistan's innings, India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was carried off on a stretcher after suffering an "acute lower back injury" while bowling, according to a team statement. India, whose victory followed a nervy 26-run win over Hong Kong on Tuesday, will face Pakistan again in the Super Four stage on Sunday in Dubai. Bangladesh and Afghanistan have already guaranteed qualification from Group B, with Sri Lanka eliminated, but play each other on Thursday to determine the group winner.
  6. Genesis has finally released pricing for the 2019 G70 sports sedan, and it takes direct aim at the BMW 3-series. The lowest rung on the G70 ladder, the 252-hp 2.0T Advanced, costs $35,895. That's $5350 less than its most obvious competitor, BMW's 248-hp four-cylinder 330i. BMW also sells a 320i that exactly matches the base G70 2.0T's price, but with only 180 horsepower and fewer standard features, it isn't a fair comparison. The cheapest way to get into a V-6–powered G70 is the 365-hp 3.3T Advanced, which starts at $44,745—$5200 less than BMW's 320-hp six-cylinder 340i. The G70 2.0T comes in six different trims: Advanced, Elite, Prestige, Dynamic, Sport, and Sport M/T. The automatic-transmission-equipped Sport, at $45,895, is the priciest and includes nappa leather seats and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. But even the base 2.0T Advanced is well equipped, coming with power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, and a suite of active-safety features. Climbing up the trim-level ladder nets you features like a head-up display, a sunroof, navigation, and leather upholstery The $38,895 Sport M/T is a different proposition from the high-end, automatic-only Sport in that—did you guess it?—a six-speed manual is its sole transmission option. Every other G70 is equipped with an eight-speed automatic, full stop. The manual Sport builds off the 2.0T Advanced model, adding enthusiast-oriented features such as a limited-slip differential, Brembo brakes, those Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, and a sport exhaust as well as niceties including heated and ventilated front seats and a 15-speaker Lexicon audio system. In addition to its twin-turbo V-6, the 3.3T Advanced gets the Brembo brakes and limited-slip diff from the 2.0T Sport models, along with leather seats, full-LED headlights, and navigation, among other features from the higher-end 2.0Ts. At $50,495, the 3.3T Sport is the most expensive of the four V-6 trims (Advanced, Elite, Prestige, and Sport) and the only one to get adaptive dampers, as well as the 2.0T Sport models' copper headlight accents, dark-chrome exterior trim, and 19-inch wheels with Michelin summer tires. On all 2.0T and 3.3T models—except the manual-transmission 2.0T—all-wheel drive is a $2000 option. And as this is a Genesis, there are no options to choose from aside from color. At launch, there will be two different special-edition G70s: the $49,745 3.3T Design and the $51,745 3.3T Dynamic. The former builds off the Prestige trim and gets a unique Black Forest Green exterior, cream nappa leather seats, and dark-green leather trim on the door cards and instrument panel, while the latter is based on the Sport and adds performance brake pads, an upgraded cooling system, and specific tuning for the suspension. Just 400 of each special editions will be built, with all of them to be built in the first year of production. The 2019 G70 hits dealerships in the United States this week.
  7. The Senate has given a woman who accuses Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault until Friday to decide if she will testify. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley sent a letter setting the 21 September deadline to Christine Blasey Ford's lawyers. Judge Kavanaugh, 53, has firmly denied the allegation. He has been meeting with White House officials this week. Prof Ford declined to testify unless the FBI begins investigating the judge. Her lawyers said on Tuesday that Prof Ford is receiving death threats since alleging Judge Kavanaugh attempted to rape her. The Senate Judiciary Committee has called on both Judge Kavanaugh and Prof Ford to testify - either publicly or in a closed-door session - next Monday. Prof Ford's legal team has declined the Senate's offer to testify. Why is the Senate setting a deadline? Her lawyer said that before her client goes to Congress, she wants an FBI investigation into Judge Kavanaugh. But in his letter to her legal team, Mr Grassley said "it is not the FBI's role to investigate a matter such as this". The truth about false assault accusations Kavanaugh accuser 'faces death threats' Could Kavanaugh confirmation be derailed? "I have reopened the hearing because I believe that anyone who comes forward with allegations of sexual assault has a right to be heard, and because it is the Committee's responsibility to fully evaluate the fitness of a nominee to the Supreme Court," the Iowa Republican wrote. The Senate, the committee chairman notes, "and only the Senate", is tasked with vetting a president's Supreme Court nominee. "The FBI does not make a credibility assessment of any information it receives with respect to a nominee. "Nor is it tasked with investigating a matter simply because the Committee deems it important." Back in 1991, however, the FBI did investigate sexual harassment claims against then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas. The White House under President George W Bush ordered that inquiry. It took three days, CNN notes, and the claims by Anita Hill were dismissed as unfounded. Judge Thomas was narrowly confirmed and he remains a Supreme Court justice. Mr Grassley's letter states that Prof Ford has until Friday morning to provide the committee with her prepared testimony and biography if she plans to testify next Monday. He said he was "disturbed" to hear that she had been facing threats and harassment, but urged her to speak before the committee. "You have stated repeatedly that Dr Ford wants to tell her story. I sincerely hope that Dr Ford will accept my invitation to do so, either privately or publicly, on Monday." Judge Kavanaugh has called the allegation "completely false". Prof Ford, a psychology lecturer in California, has accused him of drunkenly trying to remove her clothing at a house party in a Washington DC suburb in 1982 when they were both teenagers. She says he pinned her to a bed and clamped his hand over her mouth when she tried to scream. Anita Hill - whose allegation against Clarence Thomas has drawn endless parallels with the Ford-Kavanaugh controversy - says the accuser must not be hurried. "Do not rush these hearings," she wrote in an opinion piece for the New York Times. "Doing so would not only signal that sexual assault accusations are not important." What are Trump and other Republicans saying? On Wednesday, President Donald Trump continued to support his nominee, telling reporters outside the White House: "He is such an outstanding man, [it is] very hard for me to imagine anything happened." "I want to see what she [Prof Ford] has to say but I want to give it all the time they need," the Republican president said. "If she shows up that would be wonderful." Republican Senator Lindsey Graham tweeted on Wednesday that it was "imperative" to move forward on the Kavanaugh vote. He has called the allegation against Judge Kavanaugh "a drive-by shooting". "I'll listen to the lady, but we're going to bring this to a close," said the South Carolina senator. Fellow Republican Susan Collins of Maine said on Wednesday that she hopes Prof Ford "will reconsider and testify" on Monday. Ms Collins and Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski are moderate Republicans who have voted with Democrats in the past, making them possible swing votes when it comes to Judge Kavanaugh. Both have called on Judge Kavanaugh and Prof Ford to testify under oath. On Wednesday, Senator Jeff Flake - who had previously said he would not decide his vote until hearing both testimonies - also called on Prof Ford to accept the Senate's invitation.
  8. Review Monster Hunter: World[a] is an action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom. A part of the Monster Hunter series, it was released worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in January 2018, with a Microsoft Windows version in August 2018. In the game, the player takes the role of a Hunter, tasked to hunt down and either kill or trap monsters that roam in one of several environmental spaces. If successful, the player is rewarded through loot consisting of parts from the monster and other elements that are used to craft weapons and armor, amongst other equipment. The game's core loop has the player crafting appropriate gear to be able to hunt down more difficult monsters, which in turn provide parts that lead to more powerful gear. Players may hunt alone, or can hunt in cooperative groups of up to four players via the game's online services. Announced at E3 2017, Monster Hunter: World adopts the series' standard formulas from its older home console roots and recent handheld games to take advantage of the higher processing power provided by modern consoles and computers. Changes made in Monster Hunter: World include creating environmental spaces that are fully connected and removing the "zones" that were necessary for the PlayStation 2 and handheld games, more advanced monster artificial intelligence and physics to create seemingly living ecosystems that could be taken advantage of during hunts, a more persistent cooperative multiplayer experience, and a refinement of the game's user interface, menu systems, and tutorials to help with bringing new players into the series. These changes led Capcom to plan for the game's simultaneous release across both Japan and Western markets, since Monster Hunter as a series has generally languished in the West compared to Japan partially due to disparate release schedules. Capcom also opted to support online play between these different geographic regions for similar reasons. The delay for the Windows release was attributed to Capcom seeking to make sure its first foray into the Windows market was optimized for players on computers. Monster Hunter: World received critical acclaim upon release, with critics praising how Capcom was able to make the game more accessible to new players and to Western markets, without detracting from the series' core gameplay elements and enjoyable difficulty, and fully taking advantage of the computational capacity of modern consoles to create living ecosystems. Within a few weeks of release, the game became the fastest-selling game in Capcom's history. It eventually became their best-selling game, with over ten million copies shipped by August 2018.

  10. Lionel Messi scored his 48th career hat-trick as Barcelona thrashed Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven in their opening Champions League group game. Barca's captain curled home a stunning free-kick to open the scoring before Luis Suarez's clever 20-yard lob hit the crossbar. The impressive Ousmane Dembele spun to lose two defenders and blasted home Barcelona's second from outside the box. Messi half-volleyed Ivan Rakitic's aerial pass home for their third before Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti was sent off for two yellow cards. The 10 men got a fourth goal when Suarez picked out Messi, who guided the ball past goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet from 15 yards. The other game in Group B saw Inter Milan come from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 at the San Siro. 1.Follow live Champions League coverage here Electric Messi On Top From Messi, now Barcelona's captain after Andres Iniesta's departure, looks to have put another disappointing World Cup behind him - he scored once as Argentina lost in the last 16 in Russia. He has now scored seven goals in six games this season, as well as going close with another free-kick in the second half and creating good chances for Suarez and Roberto. All his goals were excellent. First he whipped in his eighth free-kick of 2018 - right into the top corner beyond Zoet's reach from 20 yards. He sweetly struck home Rakitic's lofted ball and late on met Suarez's pass to add a third. He has now scored 104 goals - including eight hat-tricks - in the competition and has netted in a 14th consecutive Champions League campaign, a joint record with Real Madrid legend Raul. Is this Barcelona's year? Barcelona have been knocked out at the quarter-final stage for three consecutive years - with Real Madrid winning the tournament in each of those campaigns. Barca players have spoken this summer about how much the Champions League means to them as they bid to win it for the first time since 2015. Last season's Spanish double winners looked sharp against a side who had won their previous seven games and scored 13 goals in the past two - although PSV were better than the 4-0 scoreline suggests. With starts for nine of the 11 players who capitulated to Roma last season, Barca began the game strongly and Philippe Coutinho, on his Champions League debut for the club, headed over from Suarez's cross. Zoet made good saves to deny Sergi Roberto and Coutinho. PSV put up a good fight - Steven Bergwijn curled just wide from outside the box, Gaston Pereiro shot over, Mexican World Cup star Hirving Lozano missed chances and Angelino forced a Marc-Andre ter Stegen save with a 30-yard drive. It was only 1-0 until the 74th minute before the game got away from PSV, who lose for the first time in 90 minutes under new manager Mark van Bommel, the former Barcelona midfielder. History for Messi - match stats 1.Barcelona have won 25 of their last 27 Champions League games at the Nou Camp, drawing the other two.Their last defeat there was in May 2013 against Bayern Munich (3-0). 2.PSV Eindhoven have not won any of their last nine matches in the Champions League (D4 L5). 3.Messi has scored against 30 different Champions League sides - only Raul (33) and Cristiano Ronaldo (32) have scored against more different opponents. 4.He has scored eight direct free-kicks in 2018 - the most he has netted in a calendar year. 5.The Argentine has scored more hat-tricks than any other player in European Cup history (8). He has scored 42 trebles for Barcelona and six for Argentina What's next? Barcelona visit Wembley to face Tottenham in the next round of games, with PSV hosting Inter Milan - both on Wednesday, 3 October (20:00 BST). But next up for Barcelona is a Catalan derby with Girona on Sunday (19:45 BST). PSV host Eredivisie rivals Ajax earlier that day (15:45 BST). #Thank You
  11. China Has Hit Back At President Donald Trump by Imposing New Trade Tariffs On $60bn Of American Goods It comes after the US slapped duties on $200bn of Chinese imports on Monday, escalating its trade war with Beijing. China will target American goods such as liquefied natural gas, which are produced in states loyal to the US president. However, in a tweet Mr Trump warned Beijing against seeking to influence the upcoming US midterm elections. "There will be great and fast economic retaliation against China if our farmers, ranchers and/or industrial workers are targeted!" he said. AirCrafts, Computers And Textiles Earlier he had suggested that this would mean further US tariffs on another $267bn worth of Chinese products. Such a move would mean roughly all of China's exports to the US would be subject to new duties. The Chinese commerce ministry said it would impose its tariffs from 24 September - the date the US duties come into effect - but at lower rates than previously expected. It will place an additional 5% in duty on US products including smaller aircraft, computers and textiles, and an extra 10% on goods such as chemicals, meat, wheat and wine. By contrast, the US duties will apply to almost 6,000 items, making them the biggest round of trade tariffs yet from Washington. They will affect handbags, rice and textiles, although some items such as smart watches and high chairs have been exempted. They will start at 10% and increase to 25% from the start of next year unless the two countries agree a deal. 1.China and trade: Playing dirty or misunderstood victim? 2.Trade wars, tariffs and protectionism explained 3.The early victims of Trump's trade war 4.Trade row: What has happened so far? 5.Six ways China could retaliate in a trade war On Monday Mr Trump said the latest round of tariffs was in response to China's "unfair trade practices". "We have been very clear about the type of changes that need to be made, and we have given China every opportunity to treat us more fairly. But, so far, China has been unwilling to change its practices," he said. Hasn't The US Already Imposed Tariffs On China? Yes. In fact, the latest round of US duties marks the third set of tariffs put into motion so far this year. In July, the White House increased charges on $34bn worth of Chinese products. Then last month, the escalating trade war moved up a gear when the US brought in a 25% tax on a second wave of goods worth $16bn. This latest round means that about half of all Chinese imports to the US are now subject to the new duties. Unlike the earlier rounds, the list also targets consumer goods such as luggage and furniture. That means households may start to feel the impact from higher prices. US companies have already said they are worried about the effect of higher costs on their businesses and warned of the risk of job cuts. 1.Trump tariffs will hurt global growth, IMF warns 2.Will Trump's tariffs stop Chinese espionage? What Items Have Been Targeted? The list also includes food items from frozen cuts of meat, to almost all types of fish, soybeans, various types of fruit and cereal and rice. Analysis: Andrew Walker, BBC economics correspondent The immediate objective of President Trump's action against China is to address what he calls the theft of American companies' technology, but it also plays into his wider concern about the US trade deficit. He sees it as something that needs to be corrected and as the result of bad trade agreements and unfair trading by other countries. The trouble is that a trade deficit is generally regarded as being the result of savings and investment decisions rather than trade policy. A country that spends more than it earns has a trade deficit. President Trump's other policies include tax cuts that could increase government borrowing, which is equivalent to cutting national saving and could create a bigger trade deficit. What Mr Trump hopes is that the tax cuts will boost economic activity so much that they will generate more revenue - and "pay for themselves". That's another area of economic controversy. #Thank You
  12. Review Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game developed by Eidos Montréal in conjunction with Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. It continues the narrative from the 2013 game Tomb Raider and its sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider, and is the twelfth mainline entry in the Tomb Raider series. The game released worldwide on 14 September 2018 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Set shortly after the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider, its story follows Lara Croft as she ventures through Mesoamerica and South America to the legendary city Paititi, battling the paramilitary organization Trinity and racing to stop a Mayan apocalypse she has unleashed. Lara must traverse the environment and combat enemies with firearms and stealth as she explores semi-open hubs. In these hubs she can raid challenge tombs to unlock new rewards, complete side missions, and scavenge for resources which can be used to craft useful materials. Development began in 2015 following the completion of Rise of the Tomb Raider, lasting until July 2018. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was designed to conclude Lara's journey begun in the 2013 reboot, with a key theme being descent both through the jungle environment and into her personality. The setting and narrative was based on Mayan and Aztec mythologies, consulting historians to design the architecture and people of Paititi. The gameplay was adjusted based on both fan feedback and the wishes of Eidos Montréal, incorporating swimming and grappling while increasing difficulty tailoring. Camilla Luddington returned to provide voice and motion-capture work for Lara. Shadow of the Tomb Raider received generally positive reviews from critics, although it received criticism for its gameplay that some noted was starting to feel stale. Trailer

  14. Verdict Cyber Ghost is very user-friendly and offers lots of convenient features, but it's relatively expensive and its network performance was spotty. VPN services that encrypt all your internet traffic are essential for travelers, political dissidents and anyone who uses coffee-shop Wi-Fi. But VPN services can also keep your internet service provider from seeing what you're doing online and let you watch foreign streaming services. CyberGhost's client software has more convenient features than most other VPN services. But it wasn't one of the better performers among seven VPN services we recently tested. Starting at $12 per month, the service has connection points in about 60 countries around the world, and CyberGhost doesn't stint on secure servers; it's got more than 2,800 of them. With headquarters in Romania, the VPN service is theoretically beyond the reach of the FBI. A Cyber Ghost Subscription Costs $12 Per Month,Making It One Of The Most Expensive VPN Services If You Pay Every 30 Days You don't need to use your real name to set up CyberGhost's VPN service, and you can pay (nearly) anonymously with bitcoin. But you'll have to pay a lot, because CyberGhost is among the most expensive VPN services we've used, and its free plan has been killed off. Overall, you'll get most of the same features and better performance for less money with Private Internet Access (PIA). Potential customers wary of U.S.-based providers can try Canada's Windscribe. Cost's And What's Covered When we reviewed CyberGhost in 2017, the service had a free plan that gave you unlimited data for a single device, albeit without a choice of connection server. That plan is gone, but CyberGhost still offers a seven-day free trial period, which, nicely, doesn't ask you for a credit-card number up front. If you decide you like it, a CyberGhost subscription costs $12 per month, making it one of the most expensive VPN services if you pay every 30 days. If you get a one-year plan for $59.88, the monthly price drops to $4.99, putting it on a par with Tunnelbear. Buying three years of service at a time is an even better value, at $99, or $2.75 per month. That's a bit less than Private Internet Access' $40 yearly subscription, which will set you back just $3.33 a month, and even PIA's $70 two-year deal. MORE: The Best (and Worst) Identity Theft Protection CyberGhost doesn't offer a lifetime subscription, but the company does have a 30-day money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied. You can pay for CyberGhost (nearly) anonymously with Bitcoin. Otherwise, an account with PayPal or the German online payment systems Giropay or Sofort will do, or you can use regular credit cards. CyberGhost lets one account run up to seven secure sessions at once, while most other paid VPN services let you run up to five at a time. That should be plenty for most families and small businesses. To cover more devices, CyberGhost has instructions for connecting Wi-Fi routers (running DD-WRT, TomatoUSB or Tomato/Merlin firmware) directly to its servers. Compatibilty CyberGhost client software is available for Windows systems (7 and later) as well as Macs (OS X 10.7 Lion or newer). The client software has ad-, tracking- and malicious-website-blocking built in. Linux users will have to set up connections manually by enabling either OpenVPN or PPTP connections on their operating systems. (The PPTP protocol is no longer secure, so use it just for streaming.) Instructions for doing this are in the company's support pages. As far as phones and tablets go, CyberGhost has apps for iOS 9.3 or higher and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or newer. The service has browser extensions that provide proxy services (but not true VPNs) for Chrome and Firefox, but the Opera one seems to have disappeared. Behind the scenes, CyberGhost uses the PPTP, L2TP/IPSec, OpenVPN and IKEv2/IPSec tunneling protocols to create encrypted connections, and the desktop clients let you choose among them. You can set up manual connections, without the CyberGhost client software, on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Linux, as well as on ChromeOS and routers running DD-WRT and TomatoUSB open-source firmware. Overall, CyberGhost has an array of about 1,300 servers in about 60 countries, giving the network one of the widest geographic reaches of any VPN service. It has a presence in countries ranging from Albania to Vietnam, but none in China or Russia. Feauture's And Interface thunnelBear has its grizzly bear and Mullvad has its mining-helmeted mole, so Cyber Ghost has — you guessed it — a ghost. The ghoulish yellow spirit is used on the Mac menu and Windows task bar icons. The PC and Mac versions of the CyberGhost client look the same. When you start the program, you're presented with six large icons that give you a choice of surfing anonymously, unblocking streaming sites, protecting your Wi-Fi connection, using BitTorrent, unblocking websites frequently blocked overseas (such as CNN or Wikipedia) or manually selecting a server to connect to. Because of the sheer range of possibilities, it can be daunting to decipher each, and I expect most users will never go beyond using two or three of them. A series of mouseover explainers could help ease the transition, but over time, the software becomes easier to figure out. A variety of settings are a click or two away, including options to decide between UDP and TCP data protocols and pick the best server to connect to. CyberGhost can help with everything from watching Netflix in South Korea to making sure you can always get to Facebook. You can also manage your devices from this screen, making sure all your equipment has the right software to use CyberGhost's VPN servers. The settings selection leads to a variety of configuration choices, including setting CyberGhost to automatically run when Windows starts, using a proxy server and connecting via a random port. There's an automatic kill switch to cut off the internet connection when the VPN service is engaged. My favorite setting was the service's App Protection, which forces CyberGhost to run when you use certain programs, like a banking app or Facebook. It can be an identity saver. By comparison, Private Internet Access offers most of the same features and much better performance for less money. Anyone wary of Uncle Sam should check out Canada-based Windscribe. #Thank You

  18. A US border agent has confessed to the murders of four women and the assault of a fifth, police records say. Juan David Ortiz, a Border Patrol supervisor, was arrested in Laredo, Texas after the assault victim escaped and alerted the authorities. Police said the murdered women worked as prostitutes, and that Mr Ortiz shot all four in the head. He made a "voluntary verbal confession" to the murders and assault over a two-week period, police say. The 35-year-old is being held on a $2.5m (£1.9m) bond for four murders, aggravated assault and unlawful restraint, according to his arrest documents. Webb County district attorney Isidro Alaniz described the murders as a "horrific serial killing spree", according to local media reports. Officers arrested Mr Ortiz in a hotel car park after he initially tried to flee from state troopers. Authorities began to look for him after a woman named Erika Pena approached an officer for help late on Friday night. Records say Mr Ortiz picked her up that night. She managed to flee his car after he pointed a gun at her and tried to stop her from escaping. Why was there a spike in serial killers? The 40-year hunt for a killer After Ms Pena managed to get away, Mr Ortiz reportedly told investigators he picked up his last two victims. They have not been named, but Mr Alaniz said one of them was a transgender woman. The first two - 29-year-old Melissa Ramirez and 42-year-old Claudine Anne Luera - were shot and left on rural roads. Ms Luera was found alive but died in hospital of her wounds. The 35-year-old worked for US Border Patrol for almost 10 years, and went into work as normal throughout the two-week period. He reportedly served in the US Navy prior to joining the border agency. Ortiz is the second Border Patrol agent to be held for murder this year, after Ronald Anthony Burgos Aviles was held on two counts of murder in April. #Thank You
