As reported by @BenchLeaks on Twitter, it looks as though AMD's first pre-production version of its upcoming Zen 4 CPUs has made its way onto a MilkyWay@Home spec sheet. This new information is complete with CPU family, model, and stepping name. In addition, some specifications, such as core count and cache sizes, indicate that Zen 4 is close to completion. According to BenchLeaks, this particular chip reads as Stepping 1, indicating that it is one of AMD's first production models featuring the Zen 4 architecture that we have seen. Previous Zen 4 leaks, for example, have shown engineering samples with a stepping of 96. However, this new chip is still listed as an engineering sample, so we can presume it is still a pre-production model that is not ready for the consumer market. Nonetheless, if this is true, AMD is making steady progress on its Zen 4 architecture and has entered the final stages of development. Unfortunately, the rest of Milky Way @ Home's listed specs are vague, particularly regarding the cache which is listed as a measly 1024KB of capacity. Obviously, this should be the L2 cache since current Zen 2 and Zen 3 chips all have L3 cache sizes beyond 1MB. But for the L2, this is a substantial upgrade over AMD's current Zen 3 chips, such as the Ryzen 9 5950X, which only has 512KB. MilkyWay@Home labels the core count as processor units, so we believe it includes the thread count of the entire CPU. If true, this would make this Zen 4 chip an 8-core pre-production sample with SMT enabled. AMD's Zen 4 architecture should arrive sometime in the second half of 2022 under the Ryzen 7000 name. These new chips will be the first generation to run on AMD's brand new LGA AM5 socket featuring PCIe Gen 5 support. We don't know much about AMD's new architecture just yet, but it'll be based on TSMC's new N5 process (5nm), which promises a 30% power reduction or a 15% performance improvement compared to AMD's Ryzen 5000 CPUs packing TSMC's 7nm process. Clock speeds appear to be taking a serious jump as well, with boost frequencies expected to surpass the 5GHz barrier. This was made known by a recent AMD demo showcasing a Zen 4 CPU running at just over 5GHz on all cores while running Halo Infinite.

Gmail is easily among the best email services; it offers safe, reliable, and secure email from one of the internet's largest companies. But anyone who uses Gmail for work, through Google Workspace, knows the pain of out-of-hours emails from your boss that flash up on the screen and ruin your zen. Google is listening, though, and recently announced an update for Gmail that works with Apple's new Focus mode for iOS, one of the best features for getting digital peace and quiet. The idea is kind of like notification profiles on Android; you can set specific notifications, apps, and services to be silent in different times of the day, such as when you're at home. Learn more Home News Computing Gmail will no longer harass you with notifications outside working hours By Max Slater-Robins published about 3 hours ago Google updates Gmail on iOS to work with Focus mode, helping you avoid annoying notifications Google is listening, though, and recently announced an update for Gmail that works with Apple's new Focus mode for iOS, one of the best features for getting digital peace and quiet. The idea is kind of like notification profiles on Android; you can set specific notifications, apps, and services to be silent in different times of the day, such as when you're at home. Gmail can now work with these profiles – either automatically generated by Apple or customized by the user – to make sure that you get the exact notifications you want. Aimless emails? Gone. Important, critical updates? Those get through. "You can now specify which Google Chat and Gmail contacts you still want notifications from when your iOS device is in Focus mode," explained Google. "This is useful in situations where you need to limit screen time, but don’t want to miss an important message when other notifications are silenced." The importance of digital peace After the pandemic forced everyone to work from home, or at least partially work from home, getting some digital peace became very important. When there is no obvious boundary between the office and home environment, making sure that notifications don't get through during "you" time is vital. Managing notifications, especially on iOS before the latest update, was a bit of a pain. You either had to silence them all or dive into Settings every single time. Apple made the process a lot easier with iOS 15 and we really recommend setting up some different Focus profiles to get the ball rolling, especially if you don't have a work phone that can just be switched off. The set-up can be a bit of a faff, but once you get past that it's really simple – and perfect for keeping digital peace of mind without missing important updates.

Rabat - King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah II of Jordan held talks on Monday about the regional developments in Jerusalem, following Israeli raids at Al Aqsa mosque. King Mohammed VI and the King of Jordan discussed the latest development in a phone conversation, according to a statement from the Moroccan royal cabinet. Both Morocco and Jordan condemned the recent Israeli raids on the Al Aqsa mosque. Israeli troops attacked Palestinians in the Al Aqsa mosque on Friday last week, causing injuries to 150 Palestinians. Israeli forces carried out a second raid at the Al Aqsa mosque on Sunday, injuring dozens of Palestinians. In response to the attacks, Morocco issued a communique on April 16, condemning the Israeli raid on the Al-Aqsa mosque. A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Morocco strongly denounced “the Israeli occupation forces’ invasion of Al-Aqsa mosque, the closing of its gates, and assaulting worshippers inside the mosque and in its courtyards.” The statement added the attack is a blatant violation and methodical provocation, especially because it happened during the month of Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims. “[The attack] can strengthen feelings of contempt, hate, and extremism, and kill chances of achieving a peaceful solution in the region,” the ministry said. Morocco also called on the UN and the international community to “urgently intervene and put an end to these violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites.” Jordan echoed Morocco’s concern, in a statement from Jordan's King Abdullah, in which he condemned the “provocative” Israeli actions against Muslims in Al Aqsa mosque. On Monday both Morocco and Jordan reiterated that the escalation would “increase feelings of hatred, extremism and would destroy the chances of reviving the peace process in the region.” In addition to Palestine, King Mohammed VI also checked on the Jordanian monarch’s health after the surgery he underwent recently. King Abdullah II of Jordan is recovering from surgery on a slipped disc. Morocco and Jordan share good diplomatic relations, with diplomatic visits and agreements that are aimed at strengthening cooperation on all levels. Jordan is also among the countries that support Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over Western Sahara. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/04/348424/king-mohammed-vi-king-of-jordan-discuss-israeli-attacks-on-al-aqsa

Rabat - The French Embassy in Morocco announced on April 13 the resumption of sea travel with the North African country. Morocco opened its maritime borders with Spain, France, and Italy on April 11. Boat trips with foot and coach passenger services are gradually resuming their operation. In a statement, the French embassy said that vehicle owners can enter from France to Morocco starting from April 18. People entering Morocco through the maritime border are required to fill out a health form and present a valid vaccination pass. Residents in Morocco must present a valid vaccine pass or a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours. Medium and long-haul maritime lines operating in the ports of Tangier Med and Nador began gradually resuming activities on April 11, towards Spanish, French, and Italian ports. After several months of tensions, Morocco and Spain are set to open a new phase of their diplomatic ties and decided to gradually resume sea travel. Morocco’s port of Tangier city welcomed the first ship from Tarifa on April 12, with 49 passengers without vehicles. The reopening of maritime borders is expected to boost the tourism sector in Morocco. Morocco and Spain are set to initiate the 2022 Marhaba operation, a yearly program that welcomes Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) back home during the summer season. Morocco resumed air travel on February 7, after over four month of a travel ban in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tourists and Moroccans who were stranded abroad lauded the government’s decision to reopen borders. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2022/04/348355/france-morocco-sea-travel-for-vehicle-owners-to-resume-on-april-18
