  1. It is essential to design a plan to carry out these objectives, where it seeks to encompass the vision of the circular model throughout the supply chain, points out Jorge Chahin. It is essential that the organization be analyzed based on the flows of materials and energy. Where does everything we consume come from and where does it go?, points out Jorge Chahin. (LanaStock/Getty Images/iStockphoto) (Expansion) - a very important issue is that of caring for the environment, given that each time the planet deteriorates more due to the abuse and wear and tear that human beings cause, which leads to generating alterations that deteriorate not only other living beings but also oneself. It is known that the world po[CENSORED]tion is increasing every day, and that by 2050 there will be more than 10,000 million people in the world consuming and demanding all the resources generated by the Earth, this will mean that at some point there will be no resources enough to supply the high demand. For this reason, companies, especially SMEs, which are constantly growing worldwide, must manage their resources in the long term. Given this perspective, a concept that is becoming very important is that of implementing the circular economy model, however, very little explanation is given regarding the subject, which is why it is important to understand that this model is an attractive alternative that is based on in the functioning of natural and fossil systems. The circular economy is a system for harnessing resources whose pillar is the use of the seven “Rs”: redesign, reduce, reuse, repair, renew, recover and recycle. It is a model that goes beyond recycling and aims to go to the root of the problem to offer viable solutions, and completely change the way the consumption system works. However, to date, approximately 9% of the world economy is circular, which implies a great return that the waste of one company can turn out to be the resources of others and work to reuse. For this reason, I share the following points for companies to start designing their business strategy so that they can implement the circular economy model, since this implies not only obtaining economic benefits, but also ensuring the quality of life of generations future. 1. Analysis and detection of opportunities: It must be important for companies to identify the risks associated with a linear economy model, and find the opportunities and strengths of implementing a circular economy model for the specific sector of the organization. In addition, it is essential that they analyze the organization based on the flows of materials and energy. Where does everything we consume come from and where does it go? 2. Set objectives: Once you are clear about what you can take advantage of and what collaborations can help you do so, you must set some objectives taking into account technical and economic feasibility. 3. Design of a tailored plan: It is essential to design a plan to carry out these objectives, where it seeks to encompass the vision of the circular model throughout the supply and production chain, including suppliers. This plan can range from innovation in products and services, to the formulation of new business models. 4. Critical path: You must design a roadmap with responsibilities and deadlines to accomplish the different tasks that your plan requires. 5. Measurement: In monitoring the progress towards the transition to the circular model, you will have to review the actions to see if they are being fulfilled and are approaching or moving away from the stated objectives, so first implement the strategy on a small scale and make a follow-up to scale it as much as possible, in order to ensure its effectiveness and increase business ambition and action. 6. Communication: You will have to carry out an external communication of the actions linked to sustainability that you are doing, since this will be key, and will generate a positive change in the perception that others have of the company, and can attract both potential partners who share this vision, as well as clients who value environmental commitment. It is possible that all these actions are carried out, as long as they have a good leader, who guides and teaches, and as in everything, there are risks and opportunities, but if the linear model continues, the environmental impact will be increased, which that will lead to resource scarcity; For this reason, it is important to promote the circular economy, which will undoubtedly generate important advantages for your business. Editor's note: Jorge Chahin is currently president of the Organization for the Circular Economy (OFEC). Its mission is to promote the circular economy model in Mexico and Central America through awareness campaigns among the po[CENSORED]tion and political actors about the responsible use of plastic, as well as its multiple benefits and advantages. 2. Snakes can feel an earthquake 120 kilometers away: in China they have devised a system to predict earthquakes that takes advantage of this ability The snakes were able to anticipate an earthquake by up to five days. Many animals are equipped with highly developed sensory resources that have managed to read a number of natural signals on which they may depend for their lives, so it seems perfectly possible that they could detect any precursor to earthquakes. China has already created an earthquake warning system by monitoring the behavior of animals. China has designed an earthquake prediction system based on the behavior of snakes, the earthquake bureau in Nanning, South China, recently reported. At the same time, a 2020 study by scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Animal Behavior in Germany concludes that continuous biological recording of animal collectives has the potential to provide statistically reliable patterns of pre-seismic activity, which could yield valuable information for forecasting. short-term earthquakes. the power of serpents Are animals the solution to the problem of predicting earthquakes, which continually hit different parts of the globe and put human lives and material resources at risk? As reported by the Reuters agency, the Chinese authorities seem determined to take advantage of the skills of the snakes in this regard: they created a system to monitor the reptiles in local snake farms, through video cameras connected to a broadband Internet connection. wide. The video transmission works 24 hours a day. What is the OBJETIVE? Chinese specialists believe that of all the creatures on Earth, snakes are perhaps the most sensitive to earthquakes: they are able to feel the steps leading up to an earthquake 120 kilometers away, three to five days in advance. that the earthquake materializes. How to react with strange behavior, its permanent monitoring could serve the authorities to put the po[CENSORED]tion on alert and start with a contingency plan. Those responsible for the project maintain that when an earthquake is about to occur, the snakes come out of their nests, even in the cold of winter. If the earthquake is large, the snakes will even crash into the walls of their shelters as they try to escape, according to experts. Eyewitness accounts and scientific studies On the other hand, an article published on BBC.com summarizes different experiences and efforts related to the attempt to use the sensory resources of animals to predict earthquakes. As early as 373 BC, the Greek historian Thucydides reported that rats, dogs, snakes, and weasels abandoned the city of Helice in the days before a catastrophic earthquake. Meanwhile, in 2004 a massive tsunami triggered by a 9.1 magnitude underwater earthquake off Indonesia killed at least 225,000 people in a dozen countries: in the minutes and hours before the event, eyewitness accounts indicate that elephants ran for higher ground, flamingos abandoned low-lying nesting areas, and dogs refused to go outdoors. A study published in 2020 in the journal Ethology and led by the scientist Martin Wikelski of the Max Planck Institute has obtained some of the most important conclusions about how animals can predict disasters: the researchers recorded the movement patterns of different animals such as cows, sheep and dogs, on a farm located in an earthquake-prone region of central Italy. concrete evidence The scientists attached chip collars to each animal, which sent movement data to a computer. Between October 2016 and April 2017, specialists recorded more than 18,000 earthquakes in the region, from small tremors to a dozen major earthquakes. The evidence was compelling: farm animals began to change their behavior up to 20 hours before an earthquake. When the monitored animals increased their activity for more than 45 minutes at a time, the researchers predicted an earthquake with a magnitude greater than 4.0 on the Richter scale. According to scientists, seven of the eight strong earthquakes in the area were correctly predicted in this way. Although other studies dismiss this ability of animals, everything indicates that they could be a useful tool to improve prognosis and optimize prevention measures. It seems that listening more carefully to nature could be the way to save human lives in the future. 3. As we already told you about the MITT 530 TT Adventure, Vive la Moto, the Madrid International Motorcycle Show, showed some other camouflaged novelty. It is the MBP M502N and, despite a name that is more reminiscent of a prototype than a production model, it marks a before and after for the Asian conglomerate Qianjiang (QJ). If this Chinese giant doesn't sound familiar to you, you should know that it owns brands such as Benelli or Keeway and that it stands as the second largest motorcycle company in China, only behind CF Moto (2018 data). In this case (as you can see in the photographs) MBP is a sub-brand of Keeway itself with which the Chinese conglomerate wants to make the leap to mid-displacement motorcycles with a more than evident evolution in the quality of materials and performance. of the motorcycle itself. A simple glance is enough to understand the qualitative leap. As far as design is concerned, this MBP M502N has an aggressive style, with very sharp lines that underline the sporty character of this model. To this are added details such as a front lighting system that is very reminiscent of the one used in the new Suzuki Katana. Everything indicates that it has LED technology, including the indicators. On a mechanical level, this MBP M502N is powered by a 486cc twin-cylinder block, cooled by water and fueled by electronic injection. In the photograph you can see 'Powered by Keeway', which could indicate that said brand could also be preparing a mid-displacement model equipped with this engine. In any case, it produces a power of 47 CV at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 45 Nm at 6,750 rpm, ideal for A2 license holders. Its cycle part to be supported by a tubular steel frame with a series of ornaments in its central part. As for the suspensions, it relies on an inverted fork and a rear monoshock absorber, both provided by the specialist KYB. For its part, the brake team is in charge of the specialist Nissin, with 300 mm discs in the front and a single 240 mm disc in the rear. Of course, it will have an ABS system on both trains signed by Bosch. Some 17-inch wheels fitted with tires in sizes 120/70-17 and 160/60-17 complete the cycle part of the MBP M502N. By dimensions, its 790 mm seat height make it accessible to the vast majority of the biker public. Likewise, its 197 kg dry (to which the 17 liters of its tank should be added) will not match it on a particularly heavy motorcycle, although it will not be one of the lightest in the segment either. Finally, the digital instrumentation provides the pilot with all the information he needs. Link: https://www.formulamoto.es/novedades/mbp-m502n-vive-la-moto-2022/316331.html
  4. He thinks the world has gotten used to 'zero rates' The famous 'king of bonds', Bill Gross, announced this Monday that the Federal Reserve could "break the economy" of the US if it increases interest rates above the environment of 2.5% to ??3% . Gross believes that although inflation is reaching worrying levels, the Fed could not impose increases much beyond those levels without triggering a recession. "We have become accustomed to lower and lower rates and a rise, however small, will break the property market," the Pimco founder told the Financial Times. On March 16, the Fed raised its base interest rate by a quarter point, to around 0.25% to 0.5%, signaling more hikes to come at each of the remaining six meetings. this year. This move is aimed at dealing with the highest level of inflation in four decades, despite the fact that it increased the risks for economic growth. Gross's views are very similar in tune to responses to Bloomberg's weekly Markets Live survey, which asks savvy US investors about their future expectations. More than half believe a recession is likely to break out in the US next year, while only 16% believe it will take at least 2025 to see a downturn. Gross has been criticizing zero interest rates for years, saying they have discouraged saving and helped inflate a stock market bubble that has led to manias like 'meme stocks' and NFTs. "All this nonsense," he believes, is because Americans "can't find decent returns on their retirement funds" in traditional products. The Fed's sharp turn to combat inflation grew even more reassuring on Friday, as central bank 'hawks' urged rates to be raised at an even faster pace, with even one of the 'doves' acknowledging there were an argument in favor of an aggressive tightening of the entity's monetary policy. In the first wave of comments from Fed officials following the first rate hike, St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said he favored raising rates above 3% by the end of the year. , while Neel Kashkari, president of the Minneapolis Fed, acknowledged his mistake in having been cautious in raising, and announced that he now supported the more aggressive policy. 5. A new study shows how by inhaling a hormone, captive lions become more sociable with members of other prides. The lion (Panthera leo), one of the best-known big cats in po[CENSORED]r culture and misnamed "king of the jungle," is a species that is also endangered by human activity. Characterized by their territoriality, lions are excellent animals for the study of ethology – the study of animal behavior -, specifically to better understand the social behavior between these animals inside and outside their prides. A new study carried out with a group of 23 African lions has made it possible to find a way to promote social relationships between members of the same species in an unnatural environment. An investigation that opens the doors to an improvement in the conditions of these animals in captivity and in private reserves. Competition as a way of life Lion prides, also known as harems, are made up of several males that form coalitions along with a larger number of females with whom they mate. The males have a key role in the harem: defending the territory and ensuring the survival of the young. Lion harems are not static over time, but rather change. When a male gets older, a younger male may come to fight with him and "take over his territory". This means that territoriality is part of the daily life of lions. But... what happens to lions in captivity? A hormone to "tame" them all Due to the loss of habitat due to the growth and expansion of African cities, the transfer and refuge of lions in private fenced reserves and their breeding in captivity is increasingly necessary. This has the consequence that lions from different prides can mix in a small environment. Despite the advantage that it can give them in nature, territorial behavior and aggressiveness with other individuals of their species (intraspecific competition) can make coexistence between lions in reserves and in captivity a real challenge, because this circumstance is on the rise. A group of scientific researchers led by animal biologist Craig Packer and neuroscientist Sarah Heilbronner of the University of Minnesota proposed a test of a new method to study how it could change the behavior of these animals in a wildlife reserve: Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary (Dinokeng, South Africa). The experiment consisted of administering intranasally (using the nose as a door to their brain) a hormone called oxytocin, which is characteristic for its role in childbirth, lactation, sexual arousal and orgasm. In addition, due to its involvement in social behavior in mammals, oxytocin is a neurotransmitter that may also play a relevant role as a modulator, influencing social behavior in some species when administered nasally. In order to administer oxytocin to the lions, the researchers used meat by luring them towards a fence. At that moment, taking advantage of the opportunity, they sprayed their noses with the hormone using a diffuser bottle. After this treatment, they identified that those lions that were administered oxytocin became more "sociable" with other lions in the same territory and had a less vigilant behavior against possible intruders. This change was also appreciated in their physical features, which, according to the researchers, indicated that "they were totally relaxed." One of the most outstanding behaviors in which this behavioral change could be verified was the game. Captive lions may have some objects that they consider "their belonging", such as a toy, for which they fight and show aggressive behavior as a result of their territoriality. Thus marking the distance with other individuals. However, after the administration of oxytocin, the lions allowed other individuals to get closer to them than those who had not received the hormone. Despite the change in the socialization of these big cats in play behavior, this same effect was not found in eating behavior, where they showed a more possessive attitude (something common in nature). By the time food was involved, the lions showed no increased tolerance for one another despite being given oxytocin. Despite its limitations due to the conditions in which it was carried out, this study, published in the journal iScience, has allowed us to better understand the potential influence of oxytocin on the prosocial behavior of these animals, as well as finding a possible way to facilitate coexistence between lions that have been rescued from circuses or war zones that are in safe spaces such as sanctuaries (where they are isolated individually). An even more important question is the relevance of these management results for the introduction of lions, both in the wild and in captivity. One of the great efforts in conservation. 6. From Mediterranean islands to the North Cape of Norway. Despite the pandemic, Moto Guzzi tried to celebrate its centenary in 2021 in the best possible way. The Italian firm launched special editions, organized a traveling exhibition and even printed a commemorative postage stamp for its hundred years. A celebration trip to the North Cape of Norway was also planned as part of the Moto Guzzi Experience, but the health situation forced the brand to cancel this adventure tourism event. But already in 2022, with many countries with increasingly light restrictions, the Moto Guzzi Experience returns with seven destinations on the calendar. Participants will have the opportunity to drive the latest V7 and V85 TT models during all-inclusive trips. Along with the motorcycle rental, each tour package includes full board, meals, fuel and technical assistance throughout the trip. The plan sounds great, right? The Moto Guzzi Experience 2022 will kick off with a tour of Corsica and Sardinia next week, from April 16-25, followed by an expedition to Crete from May 7-15. In addition to these Mediterranean islands, the manufacturer will return to its Italian roots with a tour of Tuscany from May 27-30, before hitting the Balkans from June 18-25. Between August 16 and September 11, Moto Guzzi finally made its celebratory trip to the North Cape of Norway. The 27-day journey will replicate what Giuseppe Guzzi did to Nordkapp in 1928 aboard the Moto Guzzi GT 500 Norge. After the longest stage of the Moto Guzzi Experience 2022 calendar, the brand will return to the African continent with a getaway to Tunisia from October 15 to 24. The last tour will take the pilots through Morocco from December 24, 2022 to January 8, 2023. Each destination will be priced differently as the distance and duration will last. Reservations are open to all motorcycles, but Moto Guzzi owners will enjoy additional benefits. Moto Guzzi may have postponed some of its centenary celebrations, but the brand is hoping to make up for lost time. Link: https://es.motor1.com/news/577638/viajes-moto-guzzi-experience-2022/
  7. Metaverse University opens in Barcelona in September with a hybrid, face-to-face and telematic format Àlex Moga was a deputy for three years and trained at MIT Ana Jiménez "Technology can make everything worse depending on which hands are left." It is not a Luddite saying it, it is a warning from Àlex Moga, CEO of Horizon Metaverse and promoter of Metaverse University, a school of digital economy with a hybrid format that will open its physical and virtual doors next September in Barcelona. This businessman, who was a deputy of the Parliament between 2012 and 2015 and has no interest in remembering that stage, warns that the inequality caused by the digital divide may be even greater, in a context in which humanity is experiencing "the acceleration largest” in its history. In 2019 Moga updated his computer science studies at MIT specializing in digital transformation – blockchain, artificial intelligence, internet of things, cybersecurity and the cloud – and in March of last year he took the Metaverse brand, before Mark Zukerberg announced last October the mutation of Facebook to Meta. “The blockchain is here to stay and it is going to change everything,” says Moga, who adds that this has a very large impact on the economy. The blockchain – chain of blocks – is a mechanism that allows anonymous transactions and interactions between people, without intermediaries, he explains. Until now there were transactions that passed through centralized systems, such as banks, which act as mediators. With the blockchain you can avoid that actor who acts as an intermediary. For this reason, the school will prepare students for what Moga defines as "the economy of the 21st century", which, according to predictions, will leave behind the traditional economy. The academic program will address what it is and how it works, issues such as the aforementioned blockchain -which will be the leitmotif of the training-, cryptoactives and cryptocurrencies -such as bitcoin and other digital currencies-, payment systems such as tokenization, finance decentralized (DeFi), digital works with a certificate of authenticity that may also have value in real life (NFTs), financing through cryptocurrencies (ICO) and investment. "If you don't know how cryptocurrencies and markets work, you can't invest in them, even though many people do it to speculate and without knowledge," says Moga. At the school, which will offer basic and intensive one-week courses and later a four-month master's degree for profiles with prior training and executives, they do not intend to train investors. The intention is for students to gain an in-depth understanding of the digital economy and the possibilities it offers, as well as the metaverse, a virtual environment that recreates reality and in which you can interact with avatars, with anonymous profiles, and which allows you to provide services that now the barriers of the physical world prevent. A business that has generated a euphoria of investments in recent months and that, according to economic and technological forecasts, will grow significantly in this decade and an ecosystem in which aspects before the academic program play a fundamental role. The forecast is that there will be, thanks to the hybrid format, 458 each month, and they hope that there will be registered both in Spain and in Latin America. Students will be charged based on income, about 300 euros for those in Spain, and 120 for those in South America. There will also be a scholarship program. The business plan provides for an initial start-up capital of 465,000 euros and to date a first round of financing of 100,000 has been reached, but there will be more. Revenues for the first year are calculated at over 4 million, with profits of over one million. In the fifth year, income of more than 10 million and profits of more than 6 million. The project will be presented next Tuesday, in person and online, at the Foment del Treball headquarters. 8. They have different qualities that allow them to anticipate earthquakes and storms. These help them to protect themselves The progress of research suggests that many animals are capable of detecting minimal vibrations, subtle atmospheric changes and even magnetic currents that humans cannot perceive (Reuters) Human beings have a great technological development that allows us to achieve many advances, but, although we can build models based on theories or data collection, we are unable to predict an earthquake, while many animals have the ability to escape to safe areas before that such a disaster occurs. The Greek civilization described how mice, snakes, weasels, centipedes and beetles left cities days before a devastating earthquake. Recently some tsunamis that killed more than 200,000 people claimed the lives of very few animals. Based on this reality, the researchers proposed several lines of work that try to discover the origins of these mysterious abilities in animals. The progress of research suggests that many animals are capable of detecting minimal vibrations, subtle atmospheric changes and even magnetic currents that humans cannot perceive. In that sense, rodents and dogs can hear much higher frequencies than humans. Elephants perceive lower frequencies than we do, and a large number of insects are very sensitive to vibrations through their legs. Elephants perceive lower frequencies than we do and a lot of insects are very sensitive to vibrations through their feet. The set of this special sensitivity of many animals, by means of different perceptions, would be a reasonable explanation for the anticipation of the coming of a disaster. All this could help them detect small changes in the environment and motivate them to flee. Many animals reacted to the arrival of an adverse natural phenomenon with very unique manifestations by exaggerating behaviors and behaviors. Meows, they appeared at the doors, squawks, maddened races are just some of the manifestations that, together with the hasty flight, allow disasters to be presented when observing them. A clear example is that of Chile, a naturally seismic country in which many studies have been carried out in Valdivia. There it has been possible to detect that the horses began to neigh a few seconds before each seismic movement, at which time their whole bodies trembled. Many birds announced each tremor with a particular loudness about ten seconds before people noticed it. And the dogs announced with plaintive howls the slightest jolts while other animal species, such as sheep and chickens, were indifferent to the seismic movements. A special case is that of ants since this faculty of foresight saves their lives. They are able to leave their anthills, predicting a natural phenomenon up to an hour before they are prohibited. Returning to the generality, a special case is that of the ants since this faculty of foresight saves their lives. They are able to leave their anthills, predicting a natural phenomenon up to an hour before they are banned. In the mines, the rats that leave their dens, screaming insistently and running wildly, are the ones that, with that premonitory attitude, save the lives of the miners. This behavior constituted an alarm signal for them, who left the galleries in a hurry. Undoubtedly, this occurs due to the conjunction of the most perceptive senses of many animals that, in their joint actions, allow us to obtain a detailed and anticipated panorama of the environment much superior to ours, to which is added the fact of compulsively following their conservation instinct. *Prof. Dr. Juan Enrique Romero @drromerook is a veterinarian. 9. Only 10 units based on the competition version have been manufactured After manufacturing a new mount for the Lloyd Brothers Motorsports team, which will be adapted to the standards of the American Flat Track, Fuller Moto has taken the opportunity to create 10 street legal units based on the competition version. One of them is for sale on the Ebay internet portal. When the American Flat Track North American Championship ended changing the regulations regarding the maximum displacement allowed regarding the engines of the participating motorcycles, the Lloyd Brothers Motorsports team that competed with a Ducati equipped with a Hypermotard 939 engine, had to resort to the Fuller trainer Motorcycle to recreate a new motorcycle that would adapt to the legality imposed in the championship. Two good things came out of that union. The first is the motorcycle with which Lloyd Brothers Motorsports has been able to compete since 2018. On the other hand, Bryan Fuller, founder and owner of the preparation company, thought that it would not be bad to create a small run of those Ducati intended for flat track, but homologated for use on the street. In other words, a "registrable cucumber" with which to emulate your favorite dirt-track drivers. Ducati/Fuller Street Tracker 2018 Sides Now we have known through Bike-urious the existence of one of these units that is for sale on the Ebay portal. In addition, it is the pre-production copy that shares, even more so, a greater number of elements with the competition version. A long list of extras and "black leg" components make this bike the ideal companion to go with the rear wheel constantly crossed. Mechanically, it is equipped with a Ducati Monster 796 engine, which has been brought up to 798 cc. According to the seller, it is currently delivering a power of 65 hp to the wheel. All this for a final weight of just 145 kilograms. Both the wiring and the ECU have been modified by The Duc SHOP. It also has a custom-made exhaust system with stainless steel collectors and double silencer. Ducati/Fuller Street Tracker 2018 engine The chassis is tubular type with competition specifications. It is designed by CNC technique, laser cut and supported by the best components. Proof of this is the Ohlins FG511 inverted front fork with TTX Racing legs. Behind a Fox Shox Racing monoshock is in charge in this section. On the other hand, it mounts Sun brand aluminum wheels in 19”x 3.5” measurements. The tires for their part are 27"x7"x19" in front and 27.5"x7.5"x19". Finally we find a set of EBC discs bitten by Brembo calipers in measurements 320 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. In terms of equipment, this Ducati-Fuller Street Tracker 2018 has a fully customized silhouette, as well as the paint. It has a digital instrument panel with varied information, although minimalist in appearance, and also full-LED lighting. But everything in it is designed and thought to be enjoyed on a dirt-track oval. If you are thinking of getting it, at this very moment the bid is for 7,100 dollars, with 1 day 5 hours to go until the end of it. As we already assumed, the minimum reservation price has not yet been reached. If you want to bid you are still on time and you can do it by accessing this link. 11. Walking on water has been considered magical or supernatural. But nature is exceptional. In fact, it is so great that there are numerous cases of animals that can walk on water. These animals are not magical or anything like that, but rather they have characteristics that make it possible for them to walk on water. In this EcologíaVerde article we will explain how this works and the animals that walk on water. Why do some animals walk on water? Water is a knowingly flexible and fluid medium that can be transferred without problem. But surely you have seen animals that can suspend and walk on water, how is this possible? Insects can do this because their weight does not break the surface tension of the water, where hydrogen bonds are used to "shape" and control the boundary of the water. In order not to break the surface tension they have to be: very light small in size With impermeability in its extremities: to avoid the absorption of water On the other hand, there are cases of vertebrate animals that are not so small and not so light. In this case, they hit the water with their legs like a slap, which generates forces that propel them and support their weight. The reason for this strange ability is oriented towards feeding, both to hunt and to escape predators. It also works so that certain organisms have a safe environment to lay their eggs. Next we will present some animals that can walk in the water and what particularities they have to achieve it Raft spiders (Dolomedes fimbriatus) Spiders have a very particular system to be able to walk, not only in the water but also out of it. Specifically, we can talk about raft spiders (Dolomedes fimbriatus). They are invertebrates without muscles, so they need to exert force outwards so that their legs do not bend inwards. They exert hydraulic pressure, where hemolymph is pushed into the spiders to create pressure. This same pressure is sustained when they are walking on water. Being their legs very thin, and having multiple, the already reduced weight of the spiders is distributed among the eight legs, exerting minimal pressure on the water and without breaking the hydrogen bonds. We leave you this other article on the Parts of the spider so that you have more information on the subject. Cobbler (Gerris lacustris) Gerris lacustris are insects that have the typical six legs of similar size but, unlike the other insects, they have the second pair of very long legs. It uses them to take advantage of the surface tension of the water with the minimum possible force. On the tips of these legs they have water-repellent hairs, where they create a water bubble to keep them afloat. The back legs of these water-walking animals are also a bit long, and they use them for support and direction when moving. The front legs are short and it uses them to maneuver. Mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti) Mosquitoes need water to complete their life cycle. This is where they lay their hydrophobic eggs. These will hatch and go through the larva and pupa phase in the water. With this information it is easy to understand that adult mosquitoes need mechanisms to walk on water and be able to lay their eggs. These water-walking animals also use surface tension and lean on their hydrophobic legs to support themselves without breaking the water. If they do, it may be impossible for them to get out of it, especially since their wings get wet and they can't detach to fly. Many of the Aedes aegypti are of medical importance for transmitting multiple diseases to humans. Among the prevention measures is the cleaning of stagnant water, due to the need that mosquitoes have towards this environment. Discover what mosquitoes are for in this other article that we recommend from EcologíaVerde. Jesus Christ lizards or basilisks (Basiliscus spp.) These lizards are very agile and can run on water. So far we've only seen arthropods, and this is an amazing example of vertebrates that can walk on water. To achieve this, they have a very long and thin tail that gives them stability and hind legs with tiny fins that hit the water, and that can go back when they walk on land. In addition to these structures, the Basiliscus spp. They use a very fast speed of 1.5 meters per second to cross over the water, managing not to break the surface tension. If they run slightly slower, they will sink. They use this strategy to escape predators and can drop from trees to run on water. Geckos (Gekkonidae) The Gekkonidae are very skilled. They are not only animals that can walk on water, but can also run on it at similar speeds as when on land, using different tactics. They have a hydrophobic and water-repellent skin that reduces drag and water drag. Being of medium size, they use the surface tension strategy but also the one of hitting the water with their legs to walk on the water. In addition to this, air bubbles form under its legs that support it on the surface. Lastly, they undulate their body and tail to create forward propulsion. Snails (Helix aspersa) A particular case among mollusc animals are the snails (Helix aspersa) that can walk underwater, but we do not mean that they walk on the underwater floor, but that they walk hanging and submerged right on the dividing line of the atmosphere with the water and holding on to it. This was achieved in a dynamic in which the participant: the mucus The surface tension. The creation of waves. pressure differences. In addition, these animals that walk on water also help themselves to the buoyancy of the air that they keep in their shell. Jacana or bird Jesus Christ (Jacana jacana) These birds, also called lily walkers, appear to walk on water, but actually spend virtually their entire lives walking on the leaves of water lilies, rarely making it to dry land. They even make their nests on these floating leaves. They are not good at swimming but they are good at flying. Their toes are exceptionally long, so they have more surface area when they step on them to spread their weight over floating vegetation. 14. It is surprising that an economic proposal already tried and failed, with a high economic, political and institutional cost, returns unchanged. Legislative initiatives and various opinion notes have been entered regarding, for now, the project to dollarize the Argentine economy, inspiring, they say, in the purpose of contributing to the reduction of inflation and providing solidity to the national economy. It is surprising that an economic proposal already tried and failed, with a high economic, political and institutional cost, returns unchanged. As almost always happens with these economists, they have an undeniable ignorance of the Argentine institutionality; very especially of the National Constitution and the International Human Rights Treaties, which today make up the supreme law of the Nation (arts. 31 and 75, inc. 22°, C.N.). It is that, among the powers of the National Legislative Power, art. 75, Inc. 6, provides for "Establish and regulate a federal bank with the power to issue currency, as well as other national banks." Then the Inc. 11° of the same norm establishes: “Have currency stamped, fix its value and that of foreign ones; and adopt a uniform system of weights and measures for the entire Nation”. The first provision, which copies (when not) the US regime, has not become operational to date, so the powers established in both paragraphs of the C.N., have institutional corporeality in the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic. Now let us suppose, to relieve the absurdity of the dollarization proposal, renouncing a section of our sovereignty as a Nation, which is the issuance of our currency and fixing the value of foreign currencies, that a currency is adopted that we cannot issue nor circulate as representative currency all of our wealth and natural resources, and of the goods and services that make up the gross domestic product of the Nation. We will never see how to adapt the monetary expression to the entire set that it should represent. Every economist must know that the scarcity of a currency that is not in the power of any national authority to issue it, and therefore its circulation will always be limited to its existence and availability, implies the rise in the value of the substitute currency, The U.S. dollar. Perhaps it is what these sectors intend, to produce the adjustment that they both proclaim and yearn for. Impoverish the Argentine people and prevent their access to food, housing, health and education. Make the provisions of the UN International Covenants a dead letter. Of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights; pact that begins, as well as that of Civil and Political Rights, recognizing the right of free or self-determination of the peoples, their right to economic independence and the ownership of the peoples – not of the States or their Governments, but of the peoples- on the set of wealth and natural resources existing in their territory. This is, I remind you once again, of the highest-ranking norms of international human rights law, to whose compliance the 193 States that make up the UN must obey. Now I delve into the legal/institutional aspect; that which is rarely addressed when economic proposals are launched for the nation's people as a whole. Will they not warn these propagandists of the US dollar that it is unreasonable to introduce a legislative proposal when the institutional fence is at the highest level of our institutions: the National Constitution and the International Human Rights Treaties (arts. 31 and 75 of the CN ) ? Or is it that they propitiate a Constitutional Reform (art. 30. C.N.) to impose the submissive monstrosity? I predict the infeasibility of giving treatment, in the National Congress, to a grossly unconstitutional initiative, leaving as a safeguard, always, that of going to the National Judicial Power to annul the null act, of absolute and incurable nullity. And I prevent what is established in art. 36 of the C.N. –duty of obedience to the supremacy of the National Constitution–, when it recognizes the right of the Argentine people to resist acts of institutional violence and the disqualification of the promoters of these initiatives, as infamous traitors to the country (art. 29, CN) . *Eduardo S. 15. If you plan to adopt a pet or in fact, your children are going to go to the home of a relative or friend who has animals, it is important to know how to introduce them so that the treatment is appropriate. There is no doubt that animals are usually something that attracts a lot of attention to most children, but not all of them are suitable for us to pick them up and play with them, no matter how pet they are. For this reason, introducing animals to children is recommended, it is not complicated at all and, in fact, it can bring innumerable benefits. To do this, you will need to take some safety precautions. Here is everything you need to know. How to introduce animals to the child. Let's know some of the (simple) guidelines with which you can introduce animals to your children in an appropriate way. Set limits from the start. No, the animal cannot sleep with the children and we cannot give him the toys either. He has to have his own bed and his own toys. Use training guidelines to teach children. In case it is a dog. For example, teaching your children to make the dog obey them when they say "no" or "sit" will avoid situations in which the animal may want to overdo it and perhaps, for example, take its stuffed animal or take away its snack. Get your pet used to receiving proper care early on. The child should get to know the pet or animal in a quiet environment and with nothing to distract from each other. Let the child touch the animal if he feels like it. The first time can be quite impulsive. You must know that it is better to caress it little by little and if it is small, for example a hamster, you should not hold it with force or perhaps it is better to hold it with the cage. No strength nothing. In case the child does not want to approach or does not want to touch the animal, you should not force him. It is better to go little by little and let the child see for himself that he is not in danger and that the animal is not going to do anything to him. For this, it may be good for us to interact with the animal so that the child sees that it is something safe. Cut the child's nails before meeting the animal, so that in the case of being small it does not hurt him if he grabs it hard. Similarly, in the case of cats and dogs, it will be good if they also have their nails in good condition so as not to harm the child if they start playing. Let the pet sniff something on the child before introducing him. If it's a dog, be sure to establish that the item is yours and keep it at arm's length so it can smell it. If you are presenting a dog, take it for a long walk before the presentation and keep the child inside when you return. Be sure to hold the child when the dog comes in and let him sniff you from a distance. Let the dog approach gradually, but stay in control of the situation.
