  2. Blades of glory The only thing more tedious than watching grass grow is the bit that comes next: having to trim it. A recent survey of more than 2,000 Brits revealed that mowing the lawn was among their most loathed household chores (worse, even, than putting on washing). Thankfully, technology has come a long way since 1969, when the MowBot, the first robotic lawnmower, was launched. A “magic” banana-coloured rig, the MowBot “wanders around as aimlessly as a hound-dog pup that’s just got its first whiff of a rabbit’s trail”, read a Po[CENSORED]r Science review at the time. Today’s descendants, more trained hunter than pup, deal with unkempt lawns swiftly and efficiently. Swedish firm Husqvarna is the market leader and two of its latest smart mowers, the Automower 405X and 415X, are ideal for home use. They’re basically twins – with sexy forms that recall toy Porsches – but the 405X works on lawns up to 600sq m, whereas the 415X can tackle larger 1,500sq m expanses. While neither asks much of its owner, you need to place a boundary wire around your lawn so the machine knows its limits. And the charging station requires access to an outdoor socket – or its plug can be snaked through a window. Beyond that, everything is controlled via an app, a physical button, or voice activation: you can choose your desired grass length between 20 and 50mm; monitor your robot’s progress on your phone; and put it on a strict schedule. It doesn’t inhale clippings – the point is to use it so regularly that the tiny off-cuts can be left on top of the lawn where they act as a natural fertiliser – but it does basically everything else. It checks the weather forecast and, if there’s likely to be frost, will delay its start time so as not to damage the grass. Hilly garden? Not a problem, it can scale a 40-degree incline. A stray patio chair or narrow passage won’t hinder its progress either. Using GPS tracking to figure out which parts to mow next, this thing will raze the lawn with the ruthlessness of a billy goat – but only the gentlest of rustling sounds. Husqvarna Automower 405X (£1,799) and 415X (£2,299) This new release from Kettler, a German company that’s been making garden furniture since 1949, looks so delicious it may even get me cooking. Outdoor kitchens have been growing in po[CENSORED]rity lately and versions like the Neo – a handsome chunk of UV-protected, rust-resistant stainless steel (with stucco stone finishing) – make it easy to see why. A little more than 3m across, it has a six-burner BBQ, drinks fridge, tap and sink, plenty of cupboard space, and a roomy workbench for slicing steaks and cocktail garnishes. Plus, the BBQ is fitted with halogen lamps for after sunset. Cue a season of garden parties. Kettler Neo Outdoor Kitchen, £7,499 https://www.ft.com/content/4887f3e9-076b-4354-b21a-41d65f70a380
  3. Strong demand for application security that supports DevSecOps initiatives drives investment from Koch Disruptive Technologies and New Enterprise Associates PITTSBURGH, March 21, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- ForAllSecure, the world's most advanced application security testing technology, today announced it has raised $21 million in a series B funding round co-led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT) and existing investor New Enterprise Associates (NEA). This financing brings the company's total funding to $36 million. ForAllSecure will use the infusion of capital to accelerate growth, increase headcount, and fuel product innovation, including a solution to secure the thousands of open source projects widely used by businesses around the world. "We started ForAllSecure to automatically test apps the same way attackers will, before attackers can," said David Brumley, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of ForAllSecure. "We believe manual testing is too slow, expensive, and error-prone to scale with the modern speed of development. Other application security approaches just don't work like attackers, and cannot be truly automated because humans need to double check the results. ForAllSecure enables security to 'shift-left' and find issues early, often and cost-effectively. The time to fully automate application security is now." According to 451 Research, 61% of organizations say that lack of automated, integrated security testing tools is a top challenge for DevSecOps. ForAllSecure's Mayhem products work autonomously to find and create exploits, as well as defend vulnerable applications against hackers. Its patented algorithms, pioneered at Carnegie Mellon University, continuously uncover defects with unprecedented speed, scale and accuracy. Since launching its first commercial product in 2020, ForAllSecure has amassed more than 100 customers, ranging from the U.S. Department of Defense to the Roblox gaming platform. "The DevSecOps industry is experiencing unprecedented disruption driven by the explosive growth of software development and demand for more secure applications," said Navin Maharaj, Director at Koch Disruptive Technologies. "The company's cutting-edge autonomous technology is defining the standard in testing and protecting the world's software. Our investment in ForAllSecure underscores our belief that the company is at the forefront of cybersecurity to protect software and software-connected assets from the increasing threats we are seeing today." The funding comes at a time of tremendous growth for DevSecOps and application security tools. In 2020, the global DevSecOps market reached $2.55 billion in 2020 and is expected to increase more than $23 billion in 2028. While the importance of secure software isn't new, the recent headline-grabbing security breaches and increasing complexity of the software supply chain is increasing the importance of shifting security left in the development lifecycle. Furthermore, fully automated and autonomous testing become a critical need when security talent is scarce. "We see ForAllSecure as the next evolution in a line of transformative cybersecurity companies focused on making software better, easier, and more secure," said Aaron Jacobson, Partner at NEA. "Software development is taking place at lightning-fast speed—as a result, protecting against vulnerabilities and development errors has become a business-critical initiative. We believe ForAllSecure is poised for explosive growth, and we're thrilled to partner with David and the team to deliver the future of cybersecurity to companies around the world." ForAllSecure delivers an autonomous security testing solution that maximizes development productivity by integrating layers of security testing into continuous workflows. By intelligently automating the testing and maintenance of software, Mayhem allows developers to focus on what they do best and deliver secure, reliable applications that provide a competitive advantage. https://www.wfmz.com/news/pr_newswire/pr_newswire_technology/forallsecure-raises-21-million-to-secure-the-worlds-software/article_6014c874-b919-5d95-93af-991564669d14.html
  4. The iPhone SE is sort of a brilliant concept. Recognizing that there’s a huge market for people who can’t afford the typical price of a new iPhone (or just don’t want to spend that much), Apple takes a somewhat outdated model, replaces the processor with the latest one, and sells it at a greatly reduced price. In 2016, the original iPhone SE put the latest processor (A9) in the body of a two-generations-old iPhone 5S for just $399. It took four years for Apple to release a second-generation iPhone SE, which once again put the latest processor (A13) in a two-generations-old iPhone 8, still for just $399. Now two years later, Apple has abandoned this winning iPhone SE formula. It’s still the latest processor (A15), but instead of putting it in the two-generations-old iPhone 11, or even the iPhone XR, Apple is once again using the body of the ancient iPhone 8. And the price went up, to $429. This is still the least-expensive new iPhone you can buy, and it’s not bad, but it’s disappointing to see Apple charge more while not advancing its budget phone in the most important ways. What that A15 processor gives you The A15 is faster than the A13 in the second-generation iPhone SE, that much is certain. You can expect CPU and GPU performance around 20-30 percent better, though it can be more or less depending on the exact task. Whether you’ll really notice that sort of performance in everyday use is another matter. I found that, in most benchmarks, the iPhone SE is right on par with the iPhone 13, within a small margin of error (but not the iPhone 13 Pro, which has a fifth GPU core). This makes it by far the fastest phone in this price range. But was performance really an issue that needed addressing in the iPhone SE from two years ago? The A13 already outpaces most other $400 phones today. The A15 also includes a better image processor, which means it can do more with the data from those ancient iPhone 8 sensors and optics; none of the camera sensors or optics are upgraded from that five-year-old model. You have the new Photographic Styles feature found on the iPhone 13, for example, along with excellent 4K 60Hz video recording, Deep Fusion, and Smart HDR 4 does a great job in bright outdoor scenes. You also get 5G support, with a caveat: you can only connect to the sub-6GHz 5G bands, not the new super-high-frequency millimeter wave (mmWave) bands. That’s where the fastest speeds are, but mmWave is extremely short-range and not all that prevalent yet, so you’re not missing out on that much. Battery life is still disappointing One of the worst drawbacks of the 2nd-gen iPhone SE was its terrible battery life. Apple says the more power-efficient A15 works with the iPhone SE’s updated battery chemistry to deliver better battery life. The good news is, the battery does indeed last longer. The bad news is, it’s still pretty bad. In my tests, running the Geekbench 4 test in a loop with the display at a constant 200 nits, the battery lasted 5 hours and 13 minutes. That’s a big improvement over the 3 hours 37 minutes of the 2nd-gen iPhone SE, but it’s still the worst battery life of any iPhone you can buy (more than an hour shorter than the not-great iPhone 13 mini). A standard iPhone 13 ran three hours longer using the same test. In my testing, I found that I had to recharge in the evening to make it through the day. It’s been a few years since I’ve used an iPhone that didn’t reliably last all day. It’s good that battery life has improved in Apple’s most affordable iPhone, but it hasn’t improved enough. If it could last 15-20 percent longer, it would meet our expectations of falling just short of the iPhone 13 mini. https://www.macworld.com/article/624052/iphone-se-2022-review.html
  5. The US dollar remained bid, as the market turned risk-averse on Monday amid a prolonged Russia-Ukraine war. Escalation of the conflict sapped investors’ confidence after Ukraine refused to surrender the embattled southern port city of Mariupol as Russia warned of humanitarian 'catastrophe’. As the crisis intensified, it poured cold water on hopes for diplomacy seen over the previous week. Traders also weighed in the hawkish comments from Fed officials amid the fallout of the call between US President Joe Biden and China’s President Xi Jinping. President Biden warned China of consequences if it supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, markets were also disappointed after People’s Bank of China (PBOC) refrained from cutting the mortgage lending rates, leaving them unchanged in the first quarter of this year. Mounting tensions surrounding the Ukraine crisis re-ignited the rally in oil prices, as European Union (EU) mulls whether to impose an oil embargo on Russia. The EU leaders and Biden are scheduled to meet on Monday to firm up the West's response to Moscow. Traders now look forward to the speeches by ECB President Christine Lagarde and Fed Chair Jerome Powell later in the day, in absence of the first-tier economic news on both sides of the Atlantic. Heading into the European session, the S&P 500 futures shed 0.34% on the day, indicative of a risk-off market profile while the US dollar index was last seen up 0.10% so far, trading around 98.35. EUR/USD loses its recovery momentum and turns back into the red zone below 1.1050, courtesy of the risk-off flows-driven dollar’s strength, stabilizing Treasury yields. The shared currency ignores hawkish comments from ECB policymaker Robert Holzmann, as he argued for a rate hike. GBP/USD extends its correction from weekly highs, now pressured around 1.3150. The BOE hiked key rates by 25 bps but showed hesitance in its future tightening plans. Soaring inflation continues to threaten economic growth. Focus this week remains on the UK inflation and Retail Sales data. USD/JPY consolidates just below six-year highs of 119.41 reached last Friday, as the Fed-BOJ monetary policy divergence played out. The Japanese central bank left the policy settings unchanged yet again in its March meeting. Gold finds support from the renewed geopolitical concerns, although the upside attempts could be limited below the 21-DMA of $1,941 amid a firmer dollar. After the previous week’s recovery rally, Bitcoin has eased slightly, trading around $41,000. Ethereum lacks a clear directional bias around $2,850. https://www.fxstreet.com/news/forex-today-dollar-bid-as-ukraine-conflict-rages-on-powell-in-focus-202203210633
  6. Mark Diekmann I had a friend visiting once who told me, “I’m very glad that I don’t live here, as I’d end up picking up every animal I see on the streets.” But, while they were joking, he hit on a fact that is at the heart of the most challenging part of rescue in a developing country like the Dominican Republic for those of us who dedicate ourselves to helping the dogs and cats of the island. We have 1.2 million dogs here on the island, with tens and tens of thousands of those living on the streets. The luckier ones live there and are supported by the restaurants and people in their neighborhoods. Some live on the beaches gathering affection and food from tourists. Some scrounge through garbage cans, often under cover of night, to survive. Some are “owned” but wander the streets during the day and go back “home” at night. Some are dumped there by people who no longer want them, or they dump unwanted puppies and kittens who are left to die or to try to find a way to survive on their own. Each of these street animals has figured out how to survive to a greater or lesser degree. And those who struggle the most are the ones we try to concentrate our efforts on. However, even focusing our efforts on the neediest of the needy is a massive undertaking for our dedicated-but-limited number of volunteers in a surprisingly large island country. Sadly, we would love to help them all, but to maintain our sanity, we have to figure out how much we can do and, more importantly, what we can’t do. The hardest thing in island rescue is not treating the animals we see that come to us in horrible shape, but instead having to say no to those requests or animals that are not in a crisis that we don’t have the resources to help. It hurts us on an emotional level every time; we have to decide that we don’t have space, the animal is too far away from where we volunteer to help, an animal is reported to us that is surviving, and others losing that battle, are in more need for the resources we have. Helping the animals is therapeutic for us; seeing those we can’t help is what drags us down. We have many amazing volunteers who have dedicated much of their lives to helping the island animals, yet there is so much more need than we can handle. We hope tourists understand when we can’t take in that dog or cat living a good life on the beach at their hotel as we don’t have room. We hope people understand who reach out to us about an animal 2 hours away from our nearest volunteer that we are overwhelmed just helping the animals in our area and don’t have the time to make a special trip to help. We hope that those who reach out to us about the box of kittens dumped at their house understand that our fosters are always beyond full, and we rarely have space to take in any new animals unless in extreme emergencies. In that spirit, we ask that anyone and everyone who has any capacity to help does. Take a needy dog or cat in. Better yet, take in two or three. Also, make sure to spread the word about the critical importance of neutering and spaying all animals. Many volunteers have paid the cost of spaying and neutering street animals out of their own pockets. And DCDR holds regular clinics where this is done free of charge for animals brought in. We live for every success story. We shed tears with every loss. We hurt for those we have to drive by that my friend said would fill his house if he lived here. Our houses are full, yet sadly there are still more out there. We’ll keep trying to help as many as we can and urge everyone else who is able to consider doing the same. The next clinic will be next Sunday, March 27th at The DREAM Project School in Cabarete. The clinic is for stray and locally owned animals. If someone is in need, they need to e-mail help@dcdr.org to be added to a waiting list for a clinic spot. For all animals, please designate dog or cat and male or female if possible. https://dominicantoday.com/dr/local/2022/03/20/the-hardest-thing-about-island-animal-rescue/
  7. Former president Donald Trump has promised to return to the White House at the "American Freedom Tour" in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “With the support of everyone in this room, we will take back the House, we will take back the Senate and we will take back our country,” he said. Mr Trump added: "And then most importantly in 2024, we are going to take back our beautiful White House". He has continued to drop hints about his 2024 presidential run but has not announced any formal plans so far. Following his remarks, Congresswoman Liz Cheney on Sunday warned that Mr Trump could face criminal penalties over the 6 January riots at Capitol Hill. The Republican leader told NBC’s Meet the Press that the House investigating committee is considering whether to recommend criminal punishment for the “kind of supreme dereliction of duty that you saw with President Trump”. https://news.yahoo.com/trump-news-live-former-president-035427700.html

  10. If you've been waiting for an excuse to pick up a robot vacuum, you'll want to turn your attention to Amazon. The retailer has discounted one of the best mid-range models: the Eufy RoboVac X8. Buy Eufy RoboVac X8 at Amazon - $400Buy Eufy RoboVac 30C at Amazon - $170 For today only, it's $200 off, so you can purchase one for $400 instead of $600. The X8 is missing some features you'll find on more expensive robot vacuums. Most notably, it doesn't come with a clean base. It also doesn't include the mop functionality found on Eufy's X8 Hybrid model. However, if you can do without those two features, the X8 represents excellent value, particularly at $400. It comes with four cleaning modes and four suction levels. Even running the vacuum at its lowest setting, we found it could still thoroughly suction up dust and dirt. We also found it was easy to set up, with a mobile app that offers a handful of valuable features, including a "tap and go" one that lets you pinpoint any spot in your home for cleaning. If you're looking for a more affordable option, consider the RoboVac 30C. It's not as powerful as the X8 and it features a less advanced navigation system but at its current price of $170, down from $300, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better robot vacuum for the price. https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/shopping/eufys-robovac-x8-is-24200-off-today-only/ar-AAVgytI?ocid=BingNewsSearch
  11. OPINION: For years, Apple has led the way for long-term operating system and security updates for its devices. But could Android handsets finally be catching up? Just imagine that you have successfully saved up and bought yourself a house (a heady dream indeed for those of us who live in London) – but as you cross the threshold, you hear the estate agent mumble under his breath that you’ll never be unable to lock your front door again just a year or two after the purchase. We would all agree that such a concept would be utterly ridiculous, unfair, and even negligent on the behalf on the salesperson. Yet, a similar phenomenon has been happening for years to some of the priciest Android phones on the market. Software that keeps your phone secure might be easier to ignore than a door lock that doesn’t bolt, but that doesn’t mean that they are any less important, but manufacturers have often avoided sending out the necessary updates to their phones, most likely due to the “out of sight, out of mind” concept. One notable exception to this rule has been Apple, which has a record it can be truly proud of, even reliably rolling out full operating system updates to 2015’s iPhone 6s. In fact, across the stable of its products you know you can count on iPhones to last long after you buy them from the shop, and it’s one of the few areas where Android brands have let themselves down again and again by comparison. Even Google, the architect of Android in the first place, recently announced that it would not continue to support its own flagship Pixel 3 range even with security updates, just a paltry three years of support. There’s more to this issue than just a security problem as well. While brands often make much of their environmental credentials at launch events, these vows ring hollow when they have clearly been willing (or worse, eager) for their devices to be replaced after just a couple of years. However, it seems that finally – finally – things might be beginning to change on this score. I was enthused upon the launch of the Galaxy S22 series to see that Samsung was at last taking its responsibilities to consumers seriously, and offering five years of security updates to this new flagship range. Then came the Xiaomi 12 series, and once again, we were offered better software support – not as good as Samsung’s, with four years of security patches rather than five, but still a step in the right direction. However, it’s worth noting that these are both top-range product lines that would set you back by the better part of one thousand pounds were you to purchase a handset. When you look at the packed out mid-range market, it seems that phones are even more easily overlooked by manufacturers, being abandoned shortly after launch as far as software was concerned. When the new iPhone SE launched, we fully expected this to be the only smartphone of its type to receive support years after release; yet much to my surprise, good news was just around the corner. While many fans might have been eagerly comparing hardware specifications of the new Samsung A series, the announcement that thrilled me most was buried in the middle of the press release: the Galaxy A53 5G is guaranteed “up to four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates” – that’s right, just like its flagship cousins. It’s not year clear whether all phones in the range, such as the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, will also boast the same longevity, but this is still an exciting sign that real change is afoot in a previously long-neglected sphere. With so much convergence and competition in the Android market, this could be just the statement of intent we need for many more manufacturers of Android phones to finally step up and give us the software support that matches their excellent hardware. 12. As gas prices continue to rise, some shadowy figures are looking for "alternative" method to acquire fuel, whether legal or not. One such method, specifically hacking a gas pump, has led to the recent theft of 400 gallons of fuel at a High Point gas station in North Carolina. However, this is not the only incidence of this happening, and as it turns out, gas pumps are surprisingly vulnerable to being hacked. Earlier this week, a video surfaced of a man stealing gas for himself and other vehicles that arrived after the gas station had closed. Police and news outlets claim that the person pointed a device at the gas pump to release the dispenser to help fill up several cars waiting for free gas, leading to the theft of approximately $1600 in fuel. It is speculated that the thieves used a "special remote to alter the mechanics of the gas pump that puts it in 'dispense mode,' dispensing hundreds of gallons of gas for free," according to Petroleum Technician Trey Barker, who spoke with Fox 8 in North Carolina. He continued, stating, "The reason dispensers have this option is so petroleum technicians, and NC Weight and Measures can test and calibrate dispensers." What appears to be a regular fill up simply isn't as multiple cars come through for free gas Interestingly, this theft is not the only one in recent years and is not the only option thieves have. In 2018, Kaspersky Labs found a basic web interface on a Linux-based controller unit in an embedded box at a gas station somewhere in the US. Following this discovery, it was found that this site is "responsible for managing every component of the station, including dispensers, payment terminals and more," at the heart of the gas station. However, this was not the only gas station at risk, as there were at least 1,000 others with similar infrastructure exposed to the internet. It is likely that other gas pump brands may use a similar configurations that could be exposed as well, and we might not know about them yet. In any event, default credentials for these web interfaces are sometimes not changed, allowing easy access into these systems. Besides this, there might also be hard-coded credentials in the system's firmware, which were discovered by the team at Kaspersky. Though this may not be a new issue, it still seems particularly relevant today as gas stations have not updated their systems or improved overall protection in what amounts to a crisis for many American families and small business. As such, gas thefts will likely continue until IoT and gas station security is improved. https://hothardware.com/news/gas-station-thieves-steal-gas-through-hacking
  13. One Naples, the long awaited residential community by Stock Residences, a division of award-winning Stock Development, recently started accepting reservations, a milestone many real estate observers are calling historic. With only 128 coveted residential opportunities available at One Naples, the initial level of interest was anticipated to be high. The actuality has been even greater than expected, which is a solid affirmation regarding everything One Naples has to offer. One Naples’ excellent location, luxury lifestyle and beautifully designed floorplans are often cited as the main reasons for the resort-style community’s incredible po[CENSORED]rity. It all begins with a location other communities are extremely envious of. It’s the northeast parcel of the intersection where Vanderbilt Beach Road meets up with Gulfshore Drive, near the entrance to the Ritz-Carlton, Naples. This location is envious, not only because incredible restaurants, boutique shops, entertainment venues and supermarkets are conveniently located nearby, but because of its waterfront location. It not only borders Vanderbilt Lagoon, but the Gulf of Mexico with its sandy white beaches is literally right across the street, just a minute or two walk from our resident’s front door. That’s much better than a long distant view of the Gulf from a mile or more away and only accessible after an inconvenient car ride and parking search. The lifestyle and floorplans offered at One Naples set it apart from the others in the marketplace. Its location from the Gulf beaches has already been established, as has everything located just a short drive away. However, the amazing amenities both inside and outside the Tower Residences take the fun Florida lifestyle to a whole new level. Inside you’ll find the grand lobby and a winding staircase that leads to 28,000 square feet of indoor amenities including an elegant clubroom with bar, fireplace, piano and lounging areas. There’s also an upscale game room that includes a bar, pool table, movie theater and golf simulator, plus a kids club and card room. The Tower Residences also include 22,000 square feet of extraordinary outdoor amenities. The dramatic curvilinear elevated resort pool is simply breathtaking, surrounded by a see-through glass-like edge. The beautiful lap pool design features the illusion of cascading water, creating a water wall backdrop. Adjacent to the lap pool, luxury cabanas positioned for magnificent sunsets allow residents to control the amount of sun or shade. The indoor and outdoor amenities designed for the Tower Residences at One Naples are only for residents and their guests. However, all residents will enjoy access to the Marina at One Naples which is set on Vanderbilt Lagoon. The 22-slip marina is the gateway to the Gulf of Mexico, thus setting the stage for a myriad of boating and fishing adventures. Also exclusively for all residents is The Park at One Naples. It features walking paths, a spacious covered shade pavilion, trellised seating areas and water features. Early prospects have mentioned how amazing all the amenities are, and then confided that it might take them time to start using them because they’d be somewhat hesitant to leave their beautiful new homes. The 12-story Tower Residences offer three, four, and five bedroom plans, starting from over 4,100 square feet of living area. Penthouses start from over 5,600 square feet and Grand Penthouses start from over 8,800 square feet. All include expansive terraces, ideal for indoor/outdoor entertaining. Early inquirers have also mentioned to the sales team that the floorplans offered at One Naples are extraordinary and unlike anything in the marketplace. They love the openness of the main rooms, the functionality of the Chef-inspired kitchen and the privacy between the master suite and the comfortably sized guest bedrooms. The Residences are exceptionally well-appointed with generous ceiling heights between 10 and 12 feet and a level of finishes found only in the finest luxury residences, including gourmet kitchens with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, Franke sinks, Dornbracht faucets, and European-style cabinetry. Lavish master baths feature freestanding tubs, large showers and platinum finish Dornbracht fittings and hardware. Tower Residences are priced from $5.5 million to over $30 million. In addition to the Tower Residences, One Naples does offer another residential option, Bay Residences, which overlook Vanderbilt Lagoon and the marina. Spectacular three-bedroom plans, all with more than 3,000 square feet, are available and they feature terraces measuring more than 400 square feet. The two Bay residential buildings also have 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space, including a state-of-the-art fitness center and social clubroom. Rooftop amenities include a private pool, cabanas and sundeck. The amenities at the Bay Residences is for owners and their guests only. Bay Residences are priced from $3.5 million to over $6 million. One Naples has MANY intriguing points of interest, including the envious location, luxurious lifestyle and beautiful floorplans, with all the features today’s buyer is looking for. 14. COLOGNE, Germany (AP) — German broadcaster RTL has hired a Ukrainian presenter to host a daily news show for others who have fled their homeland after the Russian invasion. The commercial broadcaster said Karolina Ashion will present a 10-minute Ukrainian-language news program Mondays to Fridays addressed to the almost 200,000 people who have already arrived in Germany from Ukraine in the past month. “We want to reach the people who are fleeing right now, who have to leave their home country, who may not speak English, and that’s why we are making a news offer in Ukrainian," said Malte Baumberger, the project manager for RTL's "Ukraine Update” program. "So that these people can find out what is going on in their country right now and what is the political situation.” Ashion only made it to Germany about a week ago herself, following an arduous journey from Kyiv via Moldova and Romania. Her male colleagues, who aren't allowed to leave Ukraine if they are between 18 and 60, are still broadcasting out of a bomb shelter in the country's capital, she said. “My life has changed completely," Ashion said. “But I’m Ukrainian, and I want to be like a voice of freedom for people. For all the people suffering from this (war).” RTL said it is planning on further expanding their “Ukraine Update” news offer by hiring more Ukrainian journalists. 17. This $5 gadget has everything from the Sunny 16 rule to screwdrivers and sawblades - it's a must for your camera bag Over the years we've accumulated all manner of gimmicks and gadgets that sit unused and unloved in drawers, but this one is genuinely useful: the Kikkerland Camera Multi-Tool. The size of a credit card, this handy gadget boasts 13 different tools – which may well save your bacon when you're on location shooting outdoors, or even when working in the studio, making it one of the best camera accessories: • Sunny 16 rule guide • Saw blade • Flathead screwdriver • Phillip screwdriver • 2 x wrenches • Blade • Prybar nail puller • Direction auxiliary • Bottle opener • Butterfly screw wrench • Ruler • Keyhole Obviously tools like wrenches and screwdrivers can be invaluable when you need to maintain or make adjustments to your kit, and having a bottle opener at the ready is always going to come in handy (photography is thirsty work, after all). We also could have done with a saw blade on more than one occasion when we've had duct tape on a shoot, but had nothing to actually cut it with when we needed to tape something down. Of course, the most useful thing to photographers – especially those who shoot film – is going to be the handy reference graphic illustrating the Sunny 16 rule. This is a tried and tested piece of photographic knowledge that enables you to meter for daylight to get an accurate exposure without using your camera's meter (or, indeed, without using a handheld light meter). In short, on a clear sunny day you can set your aperture at f/16 and your shutter speed will be a reciprocal of your ISO (so if you're shooting at ISO100, your shutter will need to be 1/100 sec). The graphic helps you make calculations for other weather conditions and apertures as well. The Kikkerland Camera Multi-Tool is available now for $5 / £5 from Kikkerland and select camera gear retailers. https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/au/news/you-need-this-dollar5-gadget-in-your-camera-bag
  18. ROME (Reuters) -Italy's public authorities must replace antivirus software that is linked to Russia to prevent any disruption of services due to the ongoing Ukrainian conflict, a draft decree seen by Reuters said on Friday. The move comes as Italy's data regulator starts a probe into potential privacy risks connected to the use of software provided by Russia-based Kaspersky Lab, amid growing concerns over potential cybersecurity attacks. The regulatory body asked Kaspersky to provide the number and the nature of its customers in the country, and to clarify how its tools process personal data, including whether these are made available to foreign governments. Kaspersky said in an e-mailed statement to Reuters that the company had received the Italian regulator's request and it was available to respond to any concerns it may have. Kaspersky told Reuters on Thursday that it was a privately-managed company with no ties to the Russian government and said it risked suffering from decisions that were based on geopolitics rather than real technical concerns. Italian motor racing team Ferrari has decided to remove the Kaspersky logo from its Formula One cars and is assessing its supply ties with the company. In a recommendation issued earlier this week, the Italian state cybersecurity agency said there was no evidence products provided by companies linked to Russia had been compromised since the Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine. However, it warned that risks needed to be reassessed amid the growing conflict and that anti-virus software was particularly sensitive due to the "high level of invasiveness" of the systems they serve. A similar alert was issued on Tuesday in Germany, where the local cybersecurity body warned users of the anti-virus software developed by Kaspersky that it posed a serious risk of a successful hacking attack.
