  1. Thomson Reuters reported on Tuesday a series of facts on world po[CENSORED]tion and civic growth for World Po[CENSORED]tion Day, with world po[CENSORED]tion expected to reach 11 billion by 2050. 1. The world po[CENSORED]tion is 7.6 billion, and is expected to grow to nearly 10 billion by the middle of this century before reaching about 11.2 billion by the end of the year. 2.City po[CENSORED]tions are more rural than urban, and about 55 per cent of the world's po[CENSORED]tion live in urban areas in 2018, compared to 30 per cent in 1950. By 2050, this is expected to be around 70 per cent. 3. The countries with urban po[CENSORED]tions are North America (82 per cent of the po[CENSORED]tion lives in urban areas), Latin America and the Caribbean (81 per cent), Europe (74 per cent) and Oceania (68 per cent). 4. Urbanization in Asia is about 50 per cent, while Africa is still predominantly rural (43 per cent). 5. Africa and Asia have nearly 90 per cent of the world's rural po[CENSORED]tion, with India having the largest number of people living in rural areas (893 million), followed by China (578 million). 6. Tokyo is the world's most populous city with a po[CENSORED]tion of 37 million, followed by Delhi with a po[CENSORED]tion of 29 million and Shanghai with 26 million. 7. The world is fast aging. People aged 60 years and over make up 12.3 per cent of the world po[CENSORED]tion, and by 2050 the proportion will rise to about 22 per cent.
  2. The video game industry is one of the most profitable segments of the entertainment industry, and has boomed spectacularly over the past decades. Although similar sectors such as film and music have been subjected to piracy and a drop in sales, the video game sector has been able to achieve steady profits, with profits expected to grow from $ 67 billion in 2013 to about $ 82 billion by 2017. In September 2013, sales of the controversial Grand Theft Auto V hit a figure that no one could have imagined, reaching $ 800 million in 24 hours. No entertainment product has ever achieved this level of success in a single day, be it a film, a book, etc. Alongside this success, it's time to thoroughly research the impact of video games on cultural health. The subject became controversial and widely debated following a deadly and unprecedented shooting incident at the Columbine High School in 1999. The killers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, were fond of a famous shooting game known as "DOOM". The game allows participants to create levels and distribute them to colleagues, and some of the levels created by Harris are still available to play to this day. Doubts were also expressed that another stabbing incident was linked to a battle game called “Mortal Combat 3”. These conversations linking video games to serious crimes continue both in public analysis and in the discussion of these cases in courtrooms. The problem with the conclusion that there is a relationship between video games and behavior is its lack of clear physical evidence. These criminals are involved in all kinds of mass culture, meaning that they have the same level of relationship with music, movies, books and games as other law-abiding citizens. Recently, most of the dialogues focused on the negative impact of video games on childhood and social behaviors in general, with the discussion of the transition of video games from the power of mass murder to causing more battles and skirmishes. But are any of these concerns justified? What do we do with the most modern and educated space in society, based on logic that claims that video games have positive effects on our intellectual and social abilities? To make this all the more complicated, a relatively recent study by the University of Oxford on the psychological impact of video games indicated that the impact of violent games on children was merely a matter of “spending time” and no evidence of an impact. The idea that games are only a matter of “spending time” and are evolving for a fuller understanding has recently begun to emerge. “Violent video games do not affect children's behavior,” said Randy Duttnig, an article on www.healthday.com. Perhaps the interesting result is that even if such games are long spent, their impact on behavior is limited. In contrast, forms of violence in other media, such as violent films, can have a greater impact. Psychological implications. Despite the panic over video games, teachers are beginning to see it as a useful tool for students, and one study showed that about three-quarters of primary school teachers now use video games. In the same vein, a new book by Greg Toby, which featured the contributions of a number of field experts in various fields, from neuroscience to the rules of music, called: “The game believes in you: how digital games can make our children smarter.” It may be an invaluable educational tool. According to the book, video games are a source of “focus, inspiration, and reassurance to people, in ways that many teachers cannot do. Games give people a chance to learn quickly, take risks, refine deeper concepts, make you fail and then prompt you to re-experience directly, eventually reaching success in ways that are often overlooked in school. ” This understanding has far-reaching implications for the classroom. For example, there is an organization that uses a game that helps young people with cancer learn more about the disease and commit to a treatment program. As a child, I played a large number of video games, and currently I have one device and rarely play with it. Video games helped me, taught me a lot, from basic writing skills to American history of archeology and logic. I can say that I have not been involved in any field battles in my life and this made me confused because people regarded it as a negative tool, at a time when I saw it as one of the reasons for getting high marks. I remember better historical events when I put them in a narrative template through a computer game, not by reading textbooks, especially since I was a child in my childhood lack of attention and I can not save static information like many children. I needed to sort this information into a matrix so I could retrieve it, and the interactive nature of video games allowed that. I thank God that my parents acknowledged my passion for video games and paid attention in a consumer way, and I found them encouraged and help identify some games appropriate for my interests and study. Before that, I had a bad learning experience in traditional classes and moved to a home study system, which allowed me to excel until I was ready to enter university. At the age of 16, I enrolled in the college and performed well. Now, research is getting closer to finding out what some parents - like my parents - have found that video games are tools with abilities that help enhance the lives of their children. This benefit has gone beyond childhood, as is currently being the development of games intended to improve jobs and business in a number of different communities. Video games have also proved to have a beneficial effect on the brains of older people, especially helping them with preservation functions and multitasking. Clearly, there are options for some bad games that reinforce negative cultural views, especially on women's issues and ethnicity. These are issues that can and should be fixed, and it is very important for the middle segment to ignore some publishers who have chosen to abuse. Finally, we can begin to ignore the stereotypes of panic that prevented the embrace of video games as a means of fully learning.

  4. From PC to Windows and smartphones, the technology we use every day is surrounded by myths that never seem to disappear. These myths are so credible because everyone has a grain of truth to them, maybe they were even true in the past. Don't buy all the myths out there. They could lead you astray when you buy a new PC, create one or simply update the hardware you have now. More RAM definitely doesn't hurt, but it doesn't always help.Adding more RAM, or getting a computer with more RAM, will really only help if your computer doesn't have RAM. Yes, modern operating systems will use backup RAM for caching, but that cache is very useful. If your computer gets along with 8 GB of RAM, you don't really need another 8 GB of RAM for additional cache space. Before deciding to update your PC with more RAM, be sure to verify that your computer really needs it by monitoring how much RAM is being used. Going from 8 GB to 16 GB will only really help if you are running heavy virtual machines, demanding PC games and something else that needs more memory than those 8 GB offer. More RAM is not always better, and it is often better to look at other specifications when buying a computer; Do not focus only on the amount of RAM. A CPU with more cores is always faster When it comes to the CPU of your computer, or the CPU of any device, such as a smartphone, the number of cores is not the only important thing. Dual-core CPUs were a revelation when they became the mainstream in home PCs, and companies have continued with quad-core, octa-core CPUs and CPUs with even more cores. Each core is a separate execution unit, and more cores allow your computer to run multiple different programs at the same time. But it's not just about the number of cores. If you have a single thread application, it can only run on one core at a time, so a faster quad-core CPU will run it faster than a slower eight-core CPU. Many applications still have a single thread and cannot take advantage of all those additional cores to speed up their execution. Of course, given a quad-core CPU with speeds identical to an eight-core CPU, the eight-core CPU will be better. But sometimes you will see an eight-core CPU with slower speeds than a quad-core CPU, or even a quad-core CPU with slower speeds than a dual-core CPU. Cores are not the only thing that matters: CPU speed is also very important, and there is a good chance that you are better off with a faster CPU with fewer cores. Modern CPUs are 64-bit, and modern operating systems have become 64-bit, too. But much of the software you’ll run on a modern operating system like Windows is still 32-bit. That’s not as bad as it sounds, because 64-bit software isn't always faster than 32-bit software. 64-bit software does offer a number of benefits, from allowing applications to use more RAM to improved security. But that doesn’t mean 64-bit software is necessarily faster. Computing-intensive applications may see more significant improvements, but not all programs will. The move from a 32-bit application to a 64-bit application won’t necessarily give you a free performance boost.
  5. MIUI 10 and Android 9 Pie Xiaomi Mi 9 runs on the latest MIUI 10 launcher on top of Android 9 Pie. MIUI 10 improves further the system looks, gestures, and performance, while retaining the MIUI logic and any returning users would feel right at home. But while lightweight and intuitive, MIUI is no vanilla Android, so it will take a couple of hours for the purists to get the handle of it. The most notable visual changes in MIUI 10 include refined system icons, Android Pie-styled volume sliders and brightness sliders, notification shade, and quick shortcuts. MIUI 10 also brings a few functional additions - native support for navigation gestures, a brand new Recents menu - also with gesture support, Picture-In-Picture mode (for certain compatible apps), native autofill support, enhanced AI (because of course it does), improved screen recording and better app management. The Mi 9 supports Always-on display and you can schedule it or leave it on/off all the time. There are various themes you can choose from and make it yours. We've already seen those system navigation gestures - swipe for Home, swipe and pause for Recents, swipe from the edge for Back. You can also swipe and hold from the edge to go back to the previous app. Those work buttery-smooth on MIUI 10, sure, but most of us still prefer the onscreen keys. Still, if you like them, they are on the Mi 9. Another new feature - the Picture in Picture mode - has to be enabled for each compatible app from the Additional Privacy Settings. Currently it works on Google Chrome, Movies, Maps, YouTube, Duo, Instagram, Opera, Messenger, and VLC. Xiaomi Mi 9 introduces a Dark mode - it will switch all system colors from white to black and this way you can save lots of battery juice thanks to the AMOLED screen. Note that not all apps support the dark mode, but the majority do.
  6. WORD THAT FIAT Chrysler Automobiles is spinning off Ferrari to make it an independent automaker pleased shareholders but has us a bit worried. Ferrari, part of the Fiat family since 1969, has been making amazing cars lately, and revenues are up. But the company's longstanding practice of strictly limiting production to favor exclusivity over volume may give way to shareholder demands for increased production — and revenue. That's troubling, and not just because Ferrari — which built only 6,922 cars last year — always has had the mystique of the unattainable. An independent Ferrari cranking out more cars would suddenly find itself subjected to America's strict Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards, which place increasingly tough fuel efficiency requirements on automakers. If shareholders want Ferrari to grow, its cars will have to become significantly more fuel-efficient. Ferraris are beautiful. They are fast. They are nimble. And they are thirsty. But don't despair. There are at least five ways Ferrari can meet, and perhaps even skirt, those regulations, and only one of them is reason to buy a Lamborghini instead. Ferrari was led by its founder and patriarch Enzo Ferrari from its founding in 1947 until 1969, when Fiat acquired a 50 percent stake in 1969. That expanded to 85 percent in 2008, one year before Fiat saved Chrysler. Now Fiat Chrysler wants to spin off Ferrari with an IPO. The plan is to offer 10 percent of outstanding Ferrari shares to the public and reserve the rest for current Fiat Chrysler shareholders, including Piero Ferrari, Enzo’s only living son. If another company (VW? Geely?) Or an exceedingly wealthy investor grabs most or all of that 10 percent stake, it will hold tremendous sway over how the business is run. “They’re not gonna be thinking about Ferrari heritage," says Karl Brauer, senior editor at Kelley Blue Book. "They’re gonna be thinking about profit.” In Porsche's Tire Tracks One way to increase profit is to increase sales by building more, and perhaps more varied, cars. Porsche offers an example of how an automaker can move beyond its niche to offer sedans and even SUVs. “That is a way to increase volume," Brauer says. "It also is a way to increase average fuel economy for a brand.” Auto industry insiders and snobs may snigger that Porsche has sold out, but with cars like the new Cayman and 918 Spyder, the brand has maintained its reputation for making great sports cars, along with family-friendly people movers. An independent Ferrari building more than 10,000 cars would have to meet will have to meet CAFE standards on its own. The government standards, introduced in 1975, require the average fuel efficiency of all the cars an automaker sells, across its brands, to reach a certain number. If Volkswagen sells two Golfs that get 36 mpg and one Lamborghini Huracán that gets 16, its CAFE number is 30.
  7. Rama, has transformed cycling in Palestine to make it play an empowering role for a people living under a harsh occupation: a tool to resist movement restrictions and the attempt to erase Palestinian memory. She has even added a touristic dimension to it for good measure. To learn firsthand about her incredible journey, I meet with Hasan, co-founder of Cycling Palestine, the largest cycling group in Palestine, and founder of Women in Sports Network Palestine, who in March 2017 cycled 500 km from Qalandiya Refugee camp near Ramallah in Palestine to Aqaba in Jordan to promote cycling as a sport among women and girls. Wearing a hijab and bursting with enthusiasm, Hasan begins telling her story. “I was born in Sharjah, I lived there until sixth grade. We returned as a family to Palestine to reconnect with our homeland. (While) living in Sharjah, I enrolled in ‘Arab Cultural Center’ and there I enjoyed doing dabkhe dance, karate and swimming. Let’s say I had a very active sporting childhood. Then came the move from the UAE to my village which had no clubs, no sporting facilities and it was during the ‘Intifada’ (Palestinian uprising) which was a difficult period with closures and curfews. As all physical activity came to a halt, we never had a chance to pursue sports again. Reading and watching movies was what I did to expand my horizons and that then led me to studying English at university. Thereafter I worked in translation and media, until I saved enough money to do my masters in media communication, practice and public relations in Swansea, ”she says. “In Swansea, the first thing I did was .. I bought a used bicycle and I fell in love with cycling, riding for miles to the mountains, to the seaside and I felt free. But when I returned to Palestine, I came back with my mind set on cycling and ready to take on anyone who told me that a woman should not be on a bike but I was jolted by a culture shock. A woman riding a bicycle was not on and I couldn’t do it. Frustrated, I summoned up enough courage and enrolled into a local gym to do boxing and this was my battle with my own demons. The gym coach asked me, 'why do you want to do boxing?' I replied, 'do you ask the guys the same question or is it because I am a woman?' After being accepted I was the only woman in hijab doing boxing . My progress even led me to become the secretary general of the Palestinian Boxing Federation. ” From that point onwards, Hasan’s journey with cycling begins, which was initially met with indifference by a male-only cycling group. Undeterred, she found another group that accepted her and there she co-founded with Sohaib Samara, ‘Cycling Palestine’— beginning with a trip over 40 km from Jericho to Tubas. This club is now open to women and Hasan is credited with pioneering women cycling in Palestine. “Since 2016 we have visited over 300 villages, towns and cities and over 3,000 have joined us and today we have more than 100 core members with 30 women, with some that come and go. Our growing group of experienced and new cyclists use the bike to explore the land and uncover its secrets, learn about its history, and connect with the present and becoming aware of Palestine’s diversity, ”Hasan says. “We have cycling tours every Friday, which we advertise on Facebook. Participants only pay for transport and expenses incurred as we use trucks to take the bicycles and bring them back with buses ferrying the people. I am the creative mind, writing stories, making videos and creating greater awareness while my co-founder Samara is the muscle and tour guide. ” “We travel from village to village, reconnecting Palestinians to their land, after we have been told that it’s not yours, as we rediscover so many treasures. It is an educational and empowering experience that cycling - with its freedom of movement - provides. Cycling in Palestine is a unique experience because there are not many designated cycling lanes; thus, every road - paved or not - can be considered a cycling lane that will lead you to discover hidden or not-so-hidden treasures. And many international tourists are joining us on an alternative route that takes them to see the real Palestine and its people, who are always welcoming and accommodating. They ride through the many springs, the landscape dotted with almond, cherry and apricot trees and experience the magic of Palestine off the beaten track. The best way to interact with locals is when you ride your bike. They will be intrigued by your bike and generally look forward to sharing some of the most amazing and personal stories with you. ” Do you encounter any difficulties with the Israelis? “Yes! Once we were stopped by two Israeli military jeeps, who then escorted us out of the area, instructing us that we are forbidden to cycle there. ” Hasan then points out that their main difficulty lies with the poor infrastructure in the West Bank, especially in 'Area C' which is under Israeli control and where the road may pose a danger to their cyclists “I record either on a camera placed on my helmet or sometimes I use my phone and there was an occasion when I fell off my bike, ”she adds with a hearty laugh. However, Hasan is quick to point out, “Our main issue is to change age-old perceptions and that is our challenge. Women are happy seeing me cycling in the cities but when I go to the villages, the men are shocked and they even threaten me that they are going to tell my father about it. ” Hasan cycles to work and she is excited about the future. “Palestinian youth are into it. The cities are becoming overpo[CENSORED]ted, very few spaces are left and cycling has created roads unseen wherein a new outlet has been discovered. ” Hasan concludes by quoting American novelist, Herman Melville who said - ‘It is not down in any map; true places never are. ’ “I fully understand what he meant when I started to bike around Palestine for sport and adventure. I discovered that true experiences are not found on the busy road but rather on paths less taken by tourists and more by locals. And the best way to explore Palestine is by putting on local lens and getting into the saddle, ”she says. Walking away from the meeting with Hasan, with her enthusiasm rubbing onto me, I am infused with a fervent desire to get myself a bicycle and join her and her fellow travellers to ride off into the beaten paths of Palestine and to experience another side of Palestine . Rafique Gangat, author of Bending the Rules, is based in Occupied Jerusalem.
  8. Fall is upon us again, and with it, rainy weather. This caused me to be in the mood for games with dynamic weather. A mechanic that I feel is terribly underused still today. So, I created this thread to post some cool screenshots of weather in games and to get a discussion going about what other games utilize dynamic weather. Please excuse the low resolutions on the screenshots, I took them a few years ago on a computer that couldn’t quite manage HD resolution and a proper framerate.) The STALKER games are just lovely in regards to weather, something that I really think helps with the immersion in the Zone. Especially in the later games that feature the blowout mechanic, where you have to seek cover or face death. A lovely sunrise in White Orchard. Another game that really makes you feel like you are outdoors for real. The wind (both seen and heard) in the trees, changing weather, clothes that actually get wet when it’s raining etc.

  15. This article is about the video game series. For the first video game from 1994, see The Need for Speed. For the 2014 film based on the series, see Need for Speed (film). For the 2015 game and reboot of the series, see Need for Speed (2015 video game). For other uses, see Need for Speed (disambiguation). Need for Speed (NFS) is a racing video game franchise published by Electronic Arts and currently developed by Ghost Games. The series centers around illicit street racing and in general tasks players to complete various types of races while evading the local law enforcement in police pursuits. The series released its first title, The Need for Speed, in 1994. The most recent game, Need for Speed Payback, was released in 2017. The series has been overseen and had games developed by multiple notable teams over the years including EA Black Box and Criterion Games, the developers of Burnout. [1] The franchise has been critically well received and is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, selling over 150 million copies of games. [2] Due to its strong sales, the franchise has expanded into other forms of media including a film adaptation and licensed Hot Wheels toys. [3] The Need for Speed series was originally developed by Distinctive Software, a video game studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Prior to Electronic Arts' purchase of the company in 1991, it had created po[CENSORED]r racing games such as Stunts and Test Drive II: The Duel. After the purchase, the company was renamed Electronic Arts (EA) Canada. The company capitalized on its experience in the domain by developing the Need for Speed series in late 1992. [4] EA Canada continued to develop and expand the Need for Speed franchise up to 2002, when another Vancouver-based gaming company, named Black Box Games, was contracted to continue the series with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. [5] EA Black Box has been the primary series developer on a yearly cycle from 2002-08. In 2009, EA brought in Slightly Mad Studios, due to sagging sales, and they released Need for Speed: Shift, and EA's own UK-based company Criterion Games came with Hot Pursuit in 2010. In 2011, Slightly Mad Studios released a sequel to Shift, Shift 2: Unleashed and EA Black Box released The Run. In 2010, EA introduced a social platform, titled Autolog, for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and future games in the series. Autolog provides social features for Need for Speed games via a mobile app and website; it allows players to track game progress, view leaderboards, share screenshots with friends, and more. [6] At E3 2012, Criterion Games vice president Alex Ward announced that random developers would no longer be developing NFS titles. Ward wouldn't confirm that all Need for Speed games in the future would be developed entirely by Criterion, but he did say the studio would have "strong involvement" in them and would have control over which NFS titles would be released in the future. [1] [7] In August 2013, following the downsizing of Criterion Games, it was announced that Swedish developer Ghost Games would gain control of the Need for Speed racing franchise and oversee future development of the main series. [8] [9] At the time, 80% of Ghost Games' work force consisted of former Criterion Games employees. [8] [9] Gameplay Almost all of the games in the NFS series employ the same fundamental rules and similar mechanics: the player controls a race car in a variety of races, the goal being to win the race. In the tournament / career mode, the player must win a series of races in order to unlock vehicles and tracks. Before each race, the player chooses a vehicle and has the option of selecting either an automatic or manual transmission. All games in the series have some form of multiplayer mode allowing players to race one another via a split screen, a LAN or the Internet. Since Need for Speed: High Stakes, the series has also integrated car body customization into gameplay. Although the games share the same name, their tone and focus can vary significantly. For example, in some games the cars can suffer mechanical and visual damage, while in other games the cars cannot be damaged at all; in some games, the software simulates real-car behavior (physics), while in others there are more forgiving physics. With the release of Need for Speed: Underground, the series shifted from racing sports cars on scenic point-to-point tracks to an import / tuner subculture involving street racing in an urban setting. To date, this theme has remained prevalent in most of the following games. Need for Speed: Shift and its sequel took a simulator approach to racing, featuring closed-circuit racing on real tracks like the Nürburgring and the Laguna Seca, and fictional street circuits in cities like London and Chicago. The car lists include a combination of exotics, sports cars, and tuners in addition to special race cars. Most of the games in the franchise include police pursuits in some form or other. In some of the games featuring police pursuit (e.g. Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit), the player can play as either the felon or the cop. [10] The concepts of drifting and dragging were introduced in Need for Speed: Underground. These new mechanics are included in the tournament / career mode aside from the regular street races. Drift races, in games like Need for Speed: Underground and Need for Speed (2015), the player must defeat other racers by totaling the most points, earned by the length and timing of the drift made by the player's vehicle. [11] In drag races, the player must finish first to win the race, though if the player crashes into an obstacle or wall, the race ends. [11] In the recent game Need for Speed: Payback, the player has to earn a certain number of points to win; increase their multiplier based on how many points they get, whist passing through a limited number of checkpoints. [12] The concept of car tuning evolved with each new game, from focusing mainly on the mechanics of the car to including how the car looks. Each game except Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit has car tuning which can set options for items like ABS, traction control, or downforce,
  16. When it comes to the concept of gaming, there has always been a sort of mini-war that goes on between those that play on consoles and those that play on personal computer rigs. The terms “PC Master Race” and “Console Peasants” have often been thrown around—well naturedly, of course! Today, we wanted to take a side for argument’s sake! We choose the side of consoles. Here are a few things that we definitely believe consoles have over PCs when gaming is involved: No Compatibility Issues Compatibility is often a number…
  17. SPEED You can set the sorting speed in this dialog. The actual speed varies depending on what hardware you have got and the condition of it (also the PC matters). Optimum speed Optimum speed is when the operator and the machine work in tempo. You should first of all check that the computer does not delay the process if you have to wait for the machine to finish sorting. It is not a good idea to increase the injection speed in an attempt to compensate for a slow computer as it will make the system more error prone (see what we write about too high speed below). . High speed -> high stack Note that high speed implies that the stack of cards in the hopper also need to be high. That is to say, you need to top up the hopper if you want to run at top speed. And the other way around; you should reduce the speed if you for some reason (best known to yourself) want to duplicate with only one deck in the hopper. BARCODE RECOGNITION Fast means that the software performs fewer tests before it gives up. This implies that you should switch to Elaborate if you frequently get the Card not recognized message. (Card not recognized messages indicate that circumstances are not good, e.g. worn, dirty cards). CARD TYPE We can only guarantee that the machine does its job so long as you use Duplimate cards (it should say “Jannersten” in the small print on one of the cards). Duplimate plastic Select this alternative if you have cards where the top end of the indices are close to the edge. By “close” we mean that the margin between the top end of the index and and the short edge of the card is less than 3 mm. Other barcode This alternative should only be used when the settings above do not work. c.f a separate page.
  18. Pimp Your Pod! It’s rather straightfoward, and shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes to complete from start to finish. Please be aware that the iPodWizard portion is using software that’s Windows only, so you should get that virtual machine or Boot Camp install cookin ’for a little while. Read the rest of the post for more information. Note: The iPod Nano that I used for this tutorial is the first generation 1GB iPod Nano running firmware 1.3.1 and is formatted for use on Windows machines. If your iPod is formatted for use on a Mac, then you’re most likely going to run into issues with iPodWizard recognizing it. BUT, if all you’d like is Rockbox and iPodLoader, then go to step 4. What We’ll Be Doing So, what exactly will you be doing? First, we’ll be sprucing up the iPod OS by applying a really slick and completely custom theme. It replaces your main menu with a nice dock (as found in Mac OS X). It also adds a wallpaper (also found in Mac OS X 10.5). And finally, it changes the overall layout of your Now Playing screen. Next, we’ll be installing Rockbox, which is pretty much an automated installation process via the Rockbox Utility. What Rockbox is is an open-source operating system for portable media players (which has also been made into a stand-alone Android application). It can do all sorts of things, such as play MPEG-4 videos, play games (such as Doom and various GameBoy ROMs), run applications (calculator, metronome, etc), and a lot more. While you’re at the Rockbox Utility, you can use it to install themes, Doom, and other goodies. And finally, we’ll be installing a custom bootloader that will easily let you boot between the iPod OS and Rockbox. It’ll also include some extra options, such as doing into disk mode and completely shutting down your iPod.
  19. Human aspiration to the future does not stop, there are dozens of studies and reports issued every now and then we talked about the future and how our world will look after fifty years less or more, ranging from joyous to horrifying, and in this report we monitor some of these studies and reports that tried to predict what will be The world in 2050. Four forces guide the future of the world in the North This book, written by Lawrence Smith, a scientific prediction of the planet by 2050 is based on research on the four changing forces of the world: (demographic transformations - demand for natural resources - climate change - globalization), where the world is expected to witness a po[CENSORED]tion explosion, and disappear wild animals, The human environment decomposes, and the cost of resources rises from oil to water. He reached several predictions and conclusions: eight northern rivers (including the United States) would become more famous and powerful, and would become more politically stable, while those closest to the equator would face water distress, aging po[CENSORED]tions, and large, densely po[CENSORED]ted countries. Exhausted by rising energy costs and coastal flooding, Smith's main argument is that these four pressing world powers will transform the northern quarter of our planet, making it a place for greater human activity of strategic and economic importance. Smith combines the lessons of geography and history with forecasts for recent studies and analytical data, everything from climate dynamics and resource reserves, to po[CENSORED]tion distribution by age, and forecasts for economic growth. But Smith offers more than a summary of statistics and studies. He spent fifteen months traveling around the northern world, gathering personal experiences, real-world knowledge, and interviews. These stories resonate throughout the book, making 'The World in 2050' an exceptional work. Based on scientific investigation, with original maps, photographs and tables, this book was considered the most balanced, persuasive and modern in addressing the challenges and opportunities facing our world in the next century. World Po[CENSORED]tion 2050 In 2050, the global po[CENSORED]tion is expected to rise to 9.1 billion, with an increase of 33 million per year. This projection is based on reducing the fertility rate from 2.56 children per woman today to 2.02 children in 2050, but the total number may reach 10.5 billion people or may It is limited to 8 billion depending on the development of the fertility rate, and out of the projected po[CENSORED]tion in 2050 or 9.1 billion human beings, 7.9 billion will live in countries that are today considered developing. The po[CENSORED]tion is likely to double in 2050 in 31 least developed countries such as Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Niger, Somalia and Uganda. In contrast, the 2050 po[CENSORED]tion is likely to decline in 45 countries, including Belarus, Bulgaria, Germany, Japan, Poland, Russia, South Korea and Ukraine. In developing countries, about half of the po[CENSORED]tion is under the age of 25 today; only 9% of the po[CENSORED]tion is over 60 or older, but this is expected to reach 20% in 2050.
