  1. Óscar Gutiérrez, who is rly known by his ring name, Rey Mysterio (previously Rey Mysterio Jr.), is a well-known American professional wrestler. Known for his high flying Lucha Libre style which is his trademark, Mysterio's tenure with WWE started in the year 2002 and lasted till February 2015. Trained by his uncle Rey Misterio Sr., one of the top wrestling stars of the 1970s, he made his debut when he was only fourteen years of age. Despite being only five feet and six inches tall, he didn't stop pursuing his dreams. In his long career, he has won numerous championships such as the 'World Championship Wrestling Cruiserweight Championship', ' World Wrestling Association Lightweight Championship’, and 'World Wrestling Entertainment Championship.’ Mysterio attracted controversy in 2007, when an article was posted by the magazine 'Sports Illustrated', which mentioned several wrestlers including him, who were alleged to have obtained nandrolone and stanozolol. Much later, when it was stated that WWE would suspend him for thirty days, he defended himself saying that the drugs were actually prescribed to him for his knee and arm. Currently, Rey resides in San Diego, California, along with his wife Angelica and their two children. Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio) PreviousNext Recommended Lists: Male Wrestlers Male Sportspersons Childhood & Early Life Rey Mysterio was born as Óscar Gutiérrez on 11 December 1974 in Chula Vista, California, in the United States. Much is not known about his parents, but his uncle Rey Misterio Sr., a well-known professional wrestler and trainer, trained him from an early age. Recommended Lists:American WrestlersAmerican SportspersonsSagittarius Men Career Rey Mysterio made his debut in Mexico in the year 1989, when he was only fourteen. From 1992 to 1995, he wrestled with Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (Assistance, Assessment and Administration), which was based in Mexico. Later in 1995, he signed with 'Extreme Championship Wrestling'. The next year, he was signed by 'World Championship Wrestling'. In his first match at the Great American Bash, he faced the Cruiserweight Champ Dean Malenko, in which Malenko emerged victorious. Mysterio mostly fought with high flyers such as Ultimate Dragon, Juventud Guerrera, Billy Kidman, and his longtime rival, Psicosis, whom he defeated in July 1996 in 'Bash at the Beach'. Very soon, again in July 1996, Rey Mysterio fought Malenko, defeating him to win his first Cruiserweight Championship. He reigned as champion for three months. During this time, he had to defend his title from many, such as Ultimate Dragon, Super Caló and then Malenko himself. Mysterio eventually lost the title after losing to Malenko at the Halloween Havoc. Later, he challenged Ultimate Dragon for the J-Crown Championship in November 1996. However, he was unsuccessful. In 1997, Rey won the Cruiserweight Championship for a second time, after emerging victorious in a match against his opponent Guerrero. However, in November, he was defeated by Guerrero, and the latter reclaimed the title. In January 1998, Rey Mysterio won his third Cruiserweight Championship after defeating Juventud in a match. He lost it after nine days to Chris Jericho. Later that year, he formed a tag team with Billy Kidman to fight at the Latino World Order. Later, Mysterio fought Kidman, for the Cruiserweight Championship, though he was unable to win it back. In 1999, Mysterio was forced to remove his mask after he and his tag partner Konnan were defeated in a 'Hair vs. Mask match' which he fought against Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. He expressed strong disappointment over being unmasked, and said that he only removed it because he had no other choice. With a new and a better mask, he made his debut with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in 2002. After facing various opponents such as Chavo Guerrero, Kurt Angle and Big Show, he later reformed his tag team with Billy Kidman. Later in 2005, he teamed up with Eddie Guerrero, and together won tag team titles. However, Guerrero was secretly jealous of Rey, as he had never been able to beat him. Therefore, during a match, he turned on him, and after abandoning him, he beat up Rey as well. This “jealousy and feuding” at WrestleMania was part of a storyline to build up audience’s interest. During this time, due to his frustration, Guerrero also revealed a secret that they had shared regarding Rey's son Dominick—this too was a part of a storyline. Guerrero was actually Dominick's real father whom he had left with Mysterio when Dominick was a baby. They had a ladder match, for his custody, in which Rey turned out victorious. Later, Rey was defeated by Guerrero, after which their feud finally came to an end. Later, after defeating Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio won the World Heavy Weight Champion in 2006. This was followed by a feud between Mysterio and John "Bradshaw" Layfield as the latter believed that it was he who deserved the World Heavyweight Title.

  4. Car enthusiasts will be in for a treat at this weekend’s Edmonton Motorshow, where the most expensive supercar ever produced by Ford will be on display. Ford revealed the 600-horsepower, carbon fibre GT in 2015 at the Detroit auto show. The supercar — which is being manufactured in Ontario — is comparable to the Lamborghini Aventador, which costs around $400,000 North American International Auto Show when the Ford GT was revealed. A sales brochure obtained by driving website Jalopnik indicated that once a customer completed his or her order, Ford estimates it will take nine months until the car is delivered. The brochure said Ford plans to build one GT per day until October 2020. The car went on sale in 2016 and production of the cars began a few months ago. The Edmonton Motorshow will feature 750 different vehicles, from the latest mainstream cars, trucks and SUVs, to classics, exotics, and customs. The show runs from Thursday to Sunday at the Edmonton Expo Centre. Even if you can cough up that chunk of change, you might have to wait several years to get the chance to buy a Ford GT. According to Road and Track, 2017 and 2018 models are reserved for the first round of selected buyers, while cars produced in 2019 will go to buyers who weren’t selected for the first two years of production. The fourth year’s production run will be open to new customers.

  9. As confrontations between Venezuelan state forces and opposition leaders escalated to new heights this week, Twitter suspended multiple accounts belonging to Venezuelan state ministries and foreign consulates on May 1 and 2. Twitter accounts for the ministries of education, oil and women's affairs were all suspended on May 1 At the time of publication, these accounts remained suspended. Some consular accounts, including that of the consulate in Vancouver, Canada, had been restored. This is not the first time state or local officials in the country have had their accounts suspended, but the political stakes in this case are uniquely high. Uncertainty about who is in power in Venezuela arguably has never been greater. Since January 2019, governments of 65 countries worldwide have recognized opposition leader Juan Guaidó as legitimate president of the republic, while for the others, Nicolás Maduro — who was re-elected in May 2018, amid widespread allegations of electoral fraud — retains the title. On April 30, Guaidó called people to the streets for what he described as the “definitive phase” of “Operation Freedom”, an effort to bring an end to Nicolas Maduro's government. Protests are ongoing in many cities in the country, and authorities have resorted to violence in efforts to disperse demonstrators. In recent years, it has become common for public officials, their associates and supporters to post messages on social media that might violate Twitter's rules against hate speech and violent threats. These types of behavior warrant account suspension, and may have caused Twitter to shut down these accounts (we asked the company for comment, and were awaiting their reply upon publication). But the move could carry other consequences, both for the public and for the company. The government of Nicolás Maduro has called out Twitter's blocking of these accounts, noting that they took place “at the same time as the attempted coup,” underlining a suggestion raised by many Twitter users that the company has a bias against the Maduro government. Alongside the significant questions this raises about Twitter's role (intentional or not) as a political actor in this scenario, the suspensions could offer authorities increased justification for blocking Twitter altogether. The unique public value of accounts like these — even if they are spewing hateful or partisan vitriol — is also worth considering. With the accounts now suspended, their past tweets have been removed from public view. We cannot see what these officials said or did not say that might have triggered this response — their URLs simply lead to the generic “account suspended” page. Unless a third party has collected the information elsewhere, there is no public record of what the account posted in the past. Whether or not these accounts were sharing important public information, any message coming from a public official — even if that official's status is contested — has some value to constituents. Twitter offers a unique window into people's minds and emotions, something that can be especially valuable in moments of political crisis. People want to know what their leaders are thinking. The removals also contribute to the increasingly scarce landscape of public information available to Venezuelans, as electricity and internet connections flicker off and on, and major social media and news networks like BBC and CNN get kicked off the air. Blocking even more speech from public view may only contribute to the information crisis.
  10. OS ANGELES — One of the toughest decisions by product planners working on the Hyundai Venue was to engineer the subcompact crossover with front-wheel drive only — forgoing claims as an occasional off-road vehicle capable of spinning all four wheels in mud or snow. And Hyundai could have added all-wheel drive with little effort, given that the Venue is a new global product. "We could have very easily created all-wheel drive for this," said Michael O'Brien, vice president for product, corporate and digital planning at Hyundai Motor America. "We have all the parts. We know how to do it." But what the planners gave up in awd grip, they gained in carving out a niche of their own. The Venue is built from the ground up as a stylish urban crossover for the U.S. at the price of a ho-hum economy car — a play that could even convert some used-car shoppers into new-vehicle buyers and bring them into the Hyundai fold. At its size, it's the first of its kind, but not likely the last, O'Brien said. LThere'll be more automakers coming into this area of the market, I think," O'Brien said. "Our speculation is that the Venue is going to really take off. I think the idea is just right for the market now." Hyundai's rapidly growing variety of crossovers — the Venue will be its seventh — resembles the once-dizzying array of hatchbacks, sedans and coupes that automakers produced when those were what consumers wanted, said Stephanie Brinley, principal automotive analyst at IHS Markit. At its size, the Venue is an evolution of the entry hatch. Part of the buzz came from its looks: tall and square and 5 inches shorter than the Kona. It may be all car underneath, but the Venue looks like a crossover. "When people are walking around a parking lot and talking to their friends, and they see that SUV shape, they feel like they are getting a vehicle that's got more space and more versatility," O'Brien said. "Automatically, that shape provokes something that's going to be a longer-lasting, lower-cost ownership product." The Venue offers safety features such as standard forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert, which are difficult to find at its price in a new or used vehicle. Buyers can add a sunroof, heated seats, two-tone paint and additional safety equipment that are not universally offered by rivals. O'Brien knows that the Venue, when it arrives in showrooms this fall, won't be the only entry-level kid on the block. Hyundai's sibling company, Kia, has long had a runaway hit with the Soul hatchback, now in its third generation, which is an inexpensive surrogate for a crossover. The Soul leads the subcompact car segment; it sold 104,709 units in 2018. The Venue is a natural rival. "What we do like is the role of [the Soul] in their lineup," O'Brien said. "They're getting those millennial buyers that want something very versatile." Nissan adapted its Kicks crossover from developing markets to be an entry-level utility vehicle in the U.S., as Ford did with the EcoSport. O'Brien sees them all, along with the Honda Fit hatchback and economy cars in general, as potential competitors for the Venue. The wild card is that automakers are still trying to figure out where the consumer will land, with subcompact crossovers coming in a wide range of sizes just like compact crossovers before them. "We really don't know 100 percent," O'Brien said, "how to make those trade-offs."
