Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing to make sure it was correctly and fully installed? I am assuming you are opening or trying to open Camtasia Studio 8 from your Start Menu or a Desktop Shortcut, correct me if I am wrong though. If it is opening the CS 8 Recorder and not the Camtasia Studio 8 software for editing then I am assuming something might have went wrong with the install or it could have been a corrupted download. Try the option of uninstalling and re-installing and let us know if that helps.
