So far Apple has offered several distinct versions of its Apple Watch. There are the regular aluminum or stainless steel versions and the Watch Edition and Hermes models with their more premium watch casings and straps. There’s also a Nike Edition which features an aluminum casing and perforated rubber sports band though it does not offer any added durability. According to a new report from Bloomberg from earlier today, Apple considers building a ruggedized Apple Watch and bring it later in 2021 or early 2022. Based on the report, the rugged Apple Watch will have a more durable design with corner protection and impact resistance. It will be targeted at hikers and extreme sports enthusiasts and is also said to feature improved swim tracking. That’s all we have for now, as usual, we’ll have to wait for more details before we can fill you in on Apple’s plans.

Following the fall of Huawei in recent months, Apple has taken the Chinese company's second place in the top of global smartphone sales. However, it seems that other Chinese companies have managed to surpass Apple's efforts, despite the fact that the iPhone 12 is the best-selling smartphone on the market. The company is now in fourth place, according to TrendForce, behind Samsung, Oppo and Xiaomi. Apple could make up for lost ground in the next quarter The report for the second quarter of 2021 says that Apple achieved only a performance of 13.7% of total sales in the smartphone market during this period, which puts the company in fourth place. IPhone sales generally fall in the 2nd quarter of each year, as some customers expect the inevitable release of the next generation, which usually takes place in the third quarter. Despite a 11% drop in production from the first quarter, TrendForce notes that the market has seen a 10% increase in units sold over the same period last year. Moreover, the entire market grew by 18% in the first half of 2021 compared to the first half of 2020. However, TrendForce analysts say that Apple could recover in the third quarter, with increased sales following the imminent launch of the iPhone 13 generation. 8% of the global smartphone market during this period. However, there is also the possibility that Apple will not be able to deliver enough units to cover the demand, following the increase in COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, where certain components used in the assembly of iPhones are produced. TOP 5 smartphone manufacturers in Q2 2021 Samsung - 19% Oppo - 16.1% Xiaomi - 16.1% Apple - 13.7% Life - 11.1% Oppo and Xiaomi are tied for second place, while vivo is also up 11.1% of the market in fifth place. In total, sales of more than 307 million smartphones are expected in the second quarter of 2021. Samsung continues to lead the market in the first place, not far from the rest of the rivals.

I tested a special product these days. It's the first time I've used something like this and I admit I liked it. However, such a monitor is not for everyone and I believe that only those who are truly productive can enjoy such a thing. It is a monitor after all, but it has several advantages that make it more than that. Newline Flex is a solution for productive people and offers some major benefits if you spend a lot of time in the office. You are supposed to connect this monitor to a desktop or laptop. I connected it to a laptop. It is a 27-inch monitor with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, integrated speakers, brightness of 350cd / m2, 1000: 1 contrast, touchscreen and rich connectivity. What makes it a special monitor are some clear aspects: the touchscreen function, the Pen offered in the package, the absolutely fantastic speakers, the rich connectivity and the good quality webcam. The screen is touchscreen and responds excellently to touch. It is an advantage for those who work in the office and especially for those who have presentations to make or even various graphics. It is easy to use with the pen provided. To make it even easier to use with the Pen, the monitor has a simple adjustable foot that allows a generous tilt. The 20W speakers are in 2.1 format. They have a very high volume and are clearly audible. You can have a party with them. They are fabulous and have a dedicated 2.1 audio system. No exaggeration. They all sound good. Line In and Line Out. Through the USB C port it offers 60W, so you can power a laptop and automatically get rid of a cable. It's perfect that way. The monitor offers an excellent webcam that shoots 4K at a 120 degree angle. It has 8 microphones that attenuate background noise, cancel out the echo and provide excellent sound in video conferencing. It is a large camera placed on top of the monitor and also offers Intel SDM Ready technology. It is also compatible with Windows Hello. The pen is of the MPP type with 1024 pressure points. It is precise, it moves well, you can work with it without any problems and I even passed it on to an architect friend and she managed to draw with it without any problems. It's ok.What I didn't like was the design. It's a subjective thing, but I'd rather see it done better. The screen has a generous chin because the speakers are at the bottom. However, it gives me the impression that it is on the slider and the screen could go down over the speakers and cover them elegantly. There are also 5 quick buttons in the right corner for microphone, camera, volume and menu. By the way, you can navigate through the menu by touch, great. It's very fast that way. The menu looks good and you can find classic settings, nothing out of the ordinary. I leave you pictures to see. As I said, the design is subjective. The monitor is well made, only I say it could look a little better. However, I appreciate the way the foot rests. Such a monitor costs almost 5,000 lei at Cel.ro.

Vivo seems to be trying to develop a new type of smartphone, one with a fold-out display. The Chinese manufacturer patented this idea to CNIPA (Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration), and from the documents provided to this authority we can see what Vivo engineers thought. From the pictures we can see a long screen (in the style of the 21: 9 cinematic) that folds to the back of the device. It covers almost a third of the back, the rest being reserved for the 5-sensor camera (one of which appears to be a periscope) arranged in the shape of the letter X. The design itself is new and unusual, the shape of this screen being reminiscent of the Motorola RAZR or Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series (even if the folding style is different). We still don't know what stage Vivo is in with this smartphone, but we certainly won't see a commercial version too soon (if technology will let them, maybe we'll see such a model by 2022-2023).

HarmonyOS was recently officially announced as a proprietary operating system for Huawei devices, but it seems that the Chinese manufacturer is already looking for partners to extend this software to other brands' phones. Nokia seems to be one of the first companies to launch smartphones with HarmonyOS, with its next phones to be launched in China coming with factory-installed HarmonyOS. Nokia could be Huawei's first partner for the HarmonyOS software platform Huawei's strategy seems pretty clear. Since there is no software control over the smartphone market in China, where Google is not officially active, Huawei now has the chance to impose itself on the market with HarmonyOS, an alternative to Android, which comes with a suite of services Chinese. Thus, the Chinese phones of several brands could have a unified software, as happens in the rest of the world with the Android platform and Google services. Nokia X60 and X60 Pro appear to be the first non-Huawei phones to use the new HarmonyOS operating system in China, along with Huawei Mobile Services. However, it would not be the first to adopt HMS, as Meizu announced earlier this year a phone that would benefit from them, as well as access to the factory AppGallery. We do not know many details about these phones, but they could be equipped with top hardware, and could be a good alternative to Huawei models, which the company can no longer produce. It is rumored that Nokia's X60 and X60 Pro will integrate curved displays, 6,000 mAh batteries, as well as 200 megapixel cameras with optics from ZEISS. In fact, the screens could reach values of up to 144 Hz for the refresh rate and could use a chipset from the Snapdragon 800 series from Qualcomm. Given that the 870, 888 and 888 Plus models are now available, it's hard to know what Nokia will choose. The price will probably influence this decision as well. In addition to Nokia and Meizu, there are rumors that other companies such as Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo are in talks with Huawei to adopt HarmonyOS in the Chinese market. In fact, the transition would not be so complicated, as HarmonyOS is still a platform compatible with regular Android applications, using as a basis Android 10 in the AOSP version.

[GSM] Smart gadgets for kids: why they are indispensable today
Angrry.exe™ posted a topic in Gadgets
Smart gadgets are on the rise all over the world. The reasons why people use them are mainly related to comfort, safety and utility. And in the case of children, these products have become indispensable today, in contrast to previous generations that were not so technological. What are the benefits of these gadgets so that they are indispensable in the 21st century: GPS watch for children - location and route clues Parents who care about baby safety now have the opportunity to purchase a children's GPS watch. One such gadget is the YQT Q13 Smartwatch Watch, which provides important clues about your child's location and day's journey. Combining three types of location (GPS, GPRS and LBS), the smartwatch will keep the parent up to date with their child's whereabouts via the SeTracker application, available for Android and IOS operating systems. It is no longer necessary to remember the importance of this function in a world where child safety is increasingly at stake. Parents can also set up a safe perimeter for their child (GEO Electronic Fence) through the same application. When the child passes the monitored playground or school, alarm notifications will be received on the mobile phone. An emergency gadget As mentioned, smart watches provide added security. Another feature that helps parents connect to child safety is the SOS button. If the little one feels that he is being followed or is in danger, he will press this button for three seconds and the parent will be warned. One such device is the Twinkler TKY-DF25. The SOS function will preset the phone numbers to be called in case of an emergency. Health monitoring - simple, fast, step by step Smartwatches can monitor children's health more easily than ever before. Thanks to the special sensors, the watches can provide details about the pulse, the quality of the breath or the temperature. At the same time, the watch will help to encourage physical activity among children. The Wonlex KT24 has a Pedometer function (step counting). Depending on the age and weight of the child, a number of steps will be set, prompting users to perform them daily. Smart gadgets are therefore a reliable tool for monitoring children. They can be used by the little ones from an early age, because they do not pose any danger to their health. The advantages of using such a product are innumerable, contributing primarily to the feeling of security, both among the owners and the parents. In a situation where they feel in danger, children can quickly press the SOS button, thus knowing that they are not alone and that they will be helped to overcome the critical situation in which they find themselves. The prices of these children's smartwatches start at just over 100 lei, but the benefits they bring are, in fact, invaluable. According to some experts, the advantages of these gadgets make them indispensable in a century in which crimes and unforeseen situations are at alarming levels. Source -
Android 12 is nearing launch, the perfect time for Google to detail the new Android features that we can all enjoy. Google has prepared accessibility improvements for Android Auto, the Assistant service, and the Gboard keyboard. Camera Switches and Project Activate These are Android accessibility features that make it possible to control your phone using only gestures and facial movements. For example, you'll be able to use the front camera as a "switch" to navigate the Android interface. And with Project Activate you have a new application through which you can assign actions to different facial gestures and eye movements. You will be able to use your phone as a remote control for Google TV When you want to change the channel or watch something else on Google TV, you don't have to search for the remote. Available "in the next few weeks," a new app will turn Android phones into a virtual remote control for Google TV. You'll be able to use this app to turn on your TV and navigate the Google TV interface. You will also be able to enter search terms and passwords using the phone keypad directly. Google Assistant will have better integration with Reminders You will now manage all set alerts by saying "Hey Google, open my reminders". Here you will also find useful suggestions for recurring alerts that you can activate with one touch. And, of course, you can continue to use your voice to create and automate various activities. New additions for Android Auto GameSnacks is a new application delivered on Android Auto, with access to a selection of games that you can try directly from the car screen. For safety reasons, this feature will only be available when the car is parked. Android Auto also receives support for work profiles, and can detect the use of an Android phone with dual-SIM enabled. In this case, you will be able to choose which SIM card to use for calls, avoiding unwanted situations in which you call service contacts using your personal number. Waze for Android Auto is also updated "to create a more streamlined browsing experience." In the updated version, Waze features touchpad support, night mode, and lane selection assistance. Locked Folders is also available on non-Pixel phones. Launched as a Google Pixel exclusive, Locked Folders support allows you to define a password-protected space on your phone, where you can store those pictures and videos that you don't want anyone to see. Files thus saved do not appear on Google Photos or any other photo-video viewing application. Google has announced that Locked Folders support is part of the standard arsenal of Android features, and will soon be available to all users. Gboard keyboard enhancements This fall, Google plans to introduce more than 1,500 new stickers to Emoji Kitchen. Google also adds some useful features for Gboard, such as "automatically extract and split into multiple paste options". In addition, if you take a screenshot, the Gboard keyboard will display a suggestion for inserting it in the message. Nearby Share everything Nearby Share is one of those features that can be really useful, but Google has restricted who you can share files with and who can discover your device. Google confirms that you will soon be able to choose between everyone, contacts or anyone else. Heads Up on Android Another feature that Google originally released only for the Pixel series, but which will now be available on several Android devices, is Heads Up. The goal is to help you keep track of what's going on in front of you. Source

New rumors about the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones suggest that Samsung is preparing to launch a range of high-end products that will combine the classic "flagship" S series with the Note range. Changes in design will not be major compared to the last few generations, but the Ultra model, usually equipped with the best components, could now integrate an S-Pen stylus, just like on the Note series. In fact, rumors suggest that Samsung may use the name "Notes" for this model. Galaxy S22 will not be a major upgrade We now have the first images of what appears to be the Galaxy S22 base model. The design continues in the direction of the S21 series, with a camera that extends the metal frame to the back cover. The images suggest that Samsung will offer a design with a black frame of equal size around the screen, and the front camera remains integrated in a hole cut in the screen. Samsung doesn't seem to be embracing on-screen camera technology on S22 devices. However, the screen could be smaller than that of previous generations, with a diagonal of 6 ”. Of course, the hardware would have been updated with Snapdragon and Exynos processors of the new generations. The Galaxy S22 +, the mid-range model, could be launched as the Galaxy S22 Pro, with a larger screen and smaller enhancements. The Galaxy S22 Ultra could be called the Note22 Ultra The Ultra model, however, seems to be more of a successor to the Note20 series. It has a more "square" design, but continues with the curved screen at the edges. At the bottom, the S-Pen stylus can be inserted directly into the phone. And this model uses a camera cut on the screen, not hidden, just like on the Galaxy Z Fold3. The design of the cameras in the images with Galaxy S22 Ultra (or Note22 Ultra?) Is the biggest change compared to S21 Ultra and Note20 Ultra, the company's previous top models. In terms of how they are placed in images, the camera system could be similar to the one on the S21 Ultra: wide, ultra wide and two optical zoom lenses. Thus, Samsung's strategy for the coming years could be the launch of "traditional" flagship devices at the beginning of the year and the launch of foldable devices in the second half of the year.
