  1. A recently discovered zero-day is being exploited in the wild A few days after Google patched a high-severity bug that was being exploited in the wild, Microsoft has done the same for Edge. Tracked as CVE-2022-2294, the flaw is present in the Chromium browser engine, which means both Chrome and Edge are affected. Other than revealing the zero-day is being exploited in the wild, Google has kept the details to itself. This is most likely to give users enough time to patch(opens in new tab) their endpoints, and to avoid supplying threat actors with ammunition for further attacks. Known zero-day "Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix," Google said. "We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third-party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed."We do know the flaw is a high-severity heap-based buffer overflow weakness, discovered by Avast’s Jan Vojtesek, in the WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communications) component. In the same vein, Microsoft has decided to stay tight-lipped as well. “This update contains a fix for CVE-2022-2294, which has been reported by the Chromium team as having an exploit in the wild,” the company said in the patch log. The Edge build that plugged the hole is 103.0.1264.48, and users are advised to update immediately, in case the browser doesn’t do so automatically. To make sure you are running the latest version of the browser, open up the menu and navigate to Help and Feedback > About Microsoft Edge. 2. Assassin's Creed 2, Far Cry 3, and the most recent Prince of Persia game are all having their online features decommissioned. Ubisoft has announced that, effective September 1, it will be decommissioning the online features(opens in new tab) of a selection of older games. I've compiled a list of the PC games affected, their release dates, and what features will be removed below: Anno 2070 (2011): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features Assassin's Creed 2 (2009): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features Assassin's Creed 3 (2012): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (2010): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC Assassin's Creed Liberation HD (2014): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access DLC Driver San Francisco (2011): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC Far Cry 3 (2012): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (2010): co-op multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC Silent Hunter 5 (2010): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features, access to DLC Space Junkies (2019): "As a multiplayer only title, you will be unable to play the game going forward." Splinter Cell: Blacklist (2013): multiplayer, linking accounts, online features Ubisoft states that "Closing the online services for some older games allows us to focus our resources on delivering great experiences for players who are playing newer or more po[CENSORED]r titles." I'm certainly sympathetic to that argument—I doubt there's a ton of gamers out there still playing Splinter Cell: Blacklist's online multiplayer. Additionally, the remastered versions of listed games will be retaining online features. However, cutting off DLC and, in one case, an entire game is troubling. Space Junkies, the multiplayer VR shooter, cost $40 at release and remains available for sale on Steam, with no notice that it will be rendered unplayable in two months. If NFTs haven't been thoroughly debunked enough already, seeing Ubisoft completely end these services makes the company's Quartz NFT initiative even more absurd. What happens to that blockchain-backed investment once the game it's attached to shuts down, and the crypto booster pipe dream of a single NFT being used across multiple games never materialized? This mass decommissioning also demonstrates the preservation issues inherent to walled garden online services. You can still enjoy online games significantly older than the ones listed thanks to their support for private servers. It's worth remembering that every live service game will one day stop getting official support and eventually shut down. Overwatch, Destiny, Ubisoft's own Rainbow Six Siege, there will come a point maybe years, maybe decades down the line when their servers are switched off and you won't be able to come back to them. https://www.pcgamer.com/ubisoft-to-pull-online-from-older-games-which-also-takes-away-your-dlc/
  3. Two $4,000 rewards are being offered to anyone who can identify and fix this Chrome bug A bug in the Chromium browser engine has been causing extensions to stop working for users of Google Chrome. Jói Sigurdsson, founder and CEO of CrankWheel Screen Sharing, was one of the first to identify this issue. He says it is affecting around 3% to 5% of users of certain extensions. Sigurdsson’s entry in the Chromium bug report reads: “Event handlers registered via chrome.browserAction.onClicked.addListener should get dispatched to when the browser action button/icon is clicked by the user.”For users affected by the glitch, it means that buttons in certain extensions become unresponsive. Google Chrome: bugs, glitches and errors CrankWheel Screen Sharing users first started to notify the company of the bug on 10 April 2022. It's unclear when it first became a problem, but it appears the bug may have been introduced with Chrome 100. The company’s initial response was to disable and re-enable the extension, which seemed to work at first. However, when the same error happened on Sigurdsson’s own computer, he was able to submit screen recordings and further information to Chromium. Other extensions that use the same browserAction API include a couple of password managers - Norton Password Manager and LastPass - and a pair of Google’s own creations: the Picture in Picture extension and Google Mail Checker. Sigurdsson believes these could also be subject to the problematic glitch. The Iceland-based company posted a job on Upwork(opens in new tab) last week, offering $35-$150 per hour for two days initially, in the hope that a “Chromium C++ expert [can] dig into the bug and hopefully solve it.” Also up for grabs are a pair of $4,000 bounties. One is for being able to consistently replicate the issue, which occurs on “at least macOS and Windows” and another for an actual fix. 5. A new Red Dead Redemption 2 mod that has been shared online introduces AMD FSR 2.0 support to the game for massive performance and visual improvements. The new mod, which is based on PotatoOfDoom's Cyberpunk 2077 FSR 2.0 mod replaces the game's NVIDIA DLSS implementation with FSR 2.0, bringing performance and visual improvements even to non-RTX cards. Based on PotatoOfDoom's Cyberpunk 2077 FSR2.0 mod, this mod brings AMD's FideltyFX Super Resolution 2.0 to Red Dead Redemption 2; replacing its DLSS implementation. With similar-to-dlss performance gains and improved visual fidelity this mod is perfect if you struggle to run the game at your native resolution on a non-RTX graphics card. Again, the implementation of this mod is based on PotatoOfDoom's Cyberpunk FSR 2.0 mod (Github) so updates concerning FSR 2.0 bugs will most likely be mainly handled by himself and the rest of the open-source community. I have simply made a loader for his mod and implemented the correct ViewMatrix offset! You can view the source code for this project here.A couple of screenshots have also been shared, showcasing the quality and performance settings available via the Red Dead Redemption 2 FSR 2.0 mod. The Red Dead Redemption 2 FSR 2.0 mod can be downloaded from Nexus Mods. Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Learn more about one of the best open-world games released in recent times by checking out Alessio's review. Red Dead Redemption 2 may not be perfect, but its minor shortcomings are like tiny blemishes on a stunningly beautiful face. In a way, they only serve as a reminder of how this world isn't made for perfection. Every single aspect of the game will put you into the very shoes of an outlaw roaming America with his gang as they try to escape the law long enough to make the money needed to disappear for good. It's an epic, memorable and engrossing tale which also elevates the open world genre to new heights with the brand new interaction system, a cast of unforgettable characters and a ton of high-quality content to play for a long time. https://wccftech.com/red-dead-redemption-2-fsr-2-0/

  6. Good news for Apple fans working across platforms Working across different platforms can be challenging for the best for us, but the latest Microsoft Outlook update could be a blessing for Apple fans hoping to do just that. Handoff, a capability within Apple devices that transfers user activities among multiple devices associated with the same user, will now soon be available for Microsoft's email service. This means users will be able to start off on an activity like reading or composing an email within Outlook on one Apple device and then continue that activity from the same point on another. As per a new entry(opens in new tab) in the Microsoft 365 product roadmap, the update will hit general availability in August 2022, and Microsoft is not set to preview the feature. The new Outlook This isn’t the only update which Microsoft has planned for its flagship email client. In fact, big changes are on the horizon for Outlook. Microsoft recently unveiled its new email experience, dubbed "One Outlook", for users who have signed up for the Office Insiders Beta Channel, which has been billed as a way to unify all of Microsoft’s disparate services. Previously codenamed “Project Monarch”, the new iteration of Microsoft’s email service offers users an array of updates and changes, including the introduction of message reminders, simplified methods for attaching cloud files, and a unified view for calendar, email, and to-do items. And it's not just Microsoft that has been making updates to its productivity software; Apple is making refinements to its own tools. In 2021, Apple revamped its iWork suite of productivity tools with a new batch of hybrid working-focused features that give users more ways to present and modify documents when on the move. 7. A good drive in a crowded marketplace The HP FX900 Pro is a solid drive, especially at 2TB, that is unfortunately positioned within a competitive market. It’s an interesting alternative for someone that wants a drive of this caliber, but there’s not much to set it apart. Pros + Good all-around performance + Reasonable burst performance with a large SLC cache + Competitive warranty, cooling, and efficiency Cons - Does not particularly stand out and could use more optimization - Finds itself in a very crowded market segment The HP FX900 Pro is the big brother of the HP FX900 we recently reviewed but comes sporting a more powerful controller with DRAM. This drive is aimed at competing with the big boys — it’s a high-end PCIe 4.0 drive with top-tier performance. This places it directly against some of the best SSDs on the market, like the WD Black SN850, Samsung 980 PRO, Crucial P5 Plus, manifold Phison E18 drives like the Rocket 4 Plus, and even the stellar SK hynix Platinum P41. However, the FX900 Pro's warranty and cooling are nothing to write home about, and while pricing is competitive, it isn't outstanding. It fills the same slot as the Adata S70 Blade - or the similar Premium - making it a somewhat cheaper, high-end, 2TB option for the PlayStation 5 or PC. It might be less attractive at lower capacities, though. It can be challenging to pick a drive in the increasingly crowded SSD marketplace, especially at the high-end. Many people would be fine with supposedly lower-end SSDs, too, the HP FX900 being a prime example. The FX900 Pro has to be compelling against its direct competition but also has to offer something over its more affordable sibling. While we specifically want to see how it lines up against similar drives, it’s worth it to consider whether you need that extra bandwidth. As with the FX900, the drive is actually binned and made by BiWin. Let’s see if HP can make another worthwhile drive — we think it can. The 1TB and 2TB capacities have the best dollar-per-GB pricing, with the 2TB SKU coming in a bit cheaper than the SK hynix Platinum P41. As of the time of the review, the FX900 Pro matches the Amazon price of the 2TB S70 Blade, which has essentially the same hardware. Nevertheless, the FX900 Pro is a reasonable alternative. As with the FX900, HP’s IOPS ratings seem a bit on the high side. The FX900 Pro's InnoGrit IG5236 controller is officially rated for up to 1M/800,000 read/write IOPS, which this drive exceeds even at 1TB. Peak performance is at 2TB, which makes sense as you will have the optimal amount of dies for interleaving. This model is pegged at 7.4/6.7 GBps of sequential read/write throughput, so there’s no question this is a high-end PCIe 4.0 drive. The warranty is a standard five-year affair with an endurance rating of 600 TB of write endurance per 1TB of SSD capacity. This is within the typical range for higher-end drives. Some might lament the endurance decline from the heights seen with Phison E12 and E16 drives, but it’s really not a big deal. It’s challenging to do that many writes within the warranty period. The front of the drive has a graphene heat spreader under the label. It’s thicker than you would otherwise expect. Later, we’ll see if that helps. The controller resides in the middle of the stick, surrounded by two NAND packages and a DRAM module. The back label covers two more NAND packages and more DRAM and contains basic information about the drive. InnoGrit has been around for a few years but is a relative newcomer to the consumer SSD controller game. While its early controllers left something to be desired, the PCIe 4.0 designs have been quite competitive. This particular controller is poised to compete with the best on the market. The NANYA DRAM is labeled NT5AD512M16A4. This is DDR4 in a 512M x 16b configuration for a total of 1GB. As there are two modules, the total DRAM capacity measures 2GB. This is what you would traditionally expect for a 2TB SSD, but many newer models skimp here to save a bit of money. While this amount of DRAM is more than enough for caching metadata for even prosumer workloads, it’s always nice to see. The flash is labeled BW29F4T08ENLEE. This tells us that it’s binned by BiWin but is based on Micron (MT29) flash, in this case, 176-layer B47R. It’s often possible to determine the generation with the final letters in the code. In the middle the 4T tells us it’s 4Tb or 512GB, and with four packages total that gives us 2TB of “08” or 8-bit flash. We may be able to discern the production date with the bottom number, “2125” being week 25 of 2021, but this is of secondary importance. As mentioned above in the specifications section, the 2TB version of this drive has the highest performance on paper. Micron’s 176-layer TLC uses 512Gb, or 64GB dies, which means you have 32 dies here — that’s four dies for each of the controller’s eight channels. That is indeed the ideal amount for peak interleaving. If we read from the controller, we see a speed of 1200 MT/s from this flash, which is more than adequate with an eight-channel drive with 1600 MT/s channels. This is below some 1600 MT/s B47R we have seen, though. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/hp-fx900-pro-review

  9. Teams pop-outs promise to improve dual-monitor functionality for collaborators Development is currently underway for an update to Microsoft Teams that will introduce the ability to open shared meeting content in a new window, as the company continues to enhance its video conferencing software. The company has released little information on the new feature, explaining simply that users will be able to "pop out shared content into a separate window". The update was added to the Microsoft 365 product roadmap this week and is expected to roll out to Teams users in August. The new feature will be supported on both web and desktop client versions of the collaboration platform, including Windows and macOS. Microsoft Teams update Over recent years, hybrid working routines have seen us turn to video conferencing platforms to get our work done, resulting in companies investing to improve their products frequently. The functionality of the up-and-coming feature is yet to be seen, but it’s likely that it will work in the same way that users can already pop out Teams chats to a new window. We anticipate this move to be beneficial to workers running multiple business monitors, allowing participants to see the call’s attendees and check shared files and chat feeds while also viewing content shared by presenters. This follows an announcement that saw enhancements to CART captioning, live captions with speaker attribution and live transcript, as well as the introduction of background effects to Teams on web browsers. These features were slated for a June 2022 release and were made available toward the end of the month, which leaves us hopeful that Microsoft will deliver its new pop-out update by the end of the summer. 10. But do you need the kitchen sink in a gaming keyboard? SteelSeries’ Apex Pro Mini packs lots of features into its tiny 60% package—perhaps too much, including adjustable actuation switches, dual-action keypresses and brilliant RGB. Expect a steep learning curve, but there's a lot to like here for gamers who enjoy customizing their controls. Pros + Feels great and intuitive for gaming + Highly customizable + Bright, attractive RGB + Feels sturdy but isn’t too heavy Cons - Dual actuation has a learning curve - SteelSeries GG has some bugs - Legends for secondary keybinds are hard to see Today's best SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini deals SteelSeries recently introduced its first ultra-compact, 60-percent form factor keyboards, the Apex Pro Mini and the Apex Pro Mini Wireless. SteelSeries’ Apex Pro line notably features the brand’s OmniPoint adjustable actuation switches, and these new mini keyboards are the first to sport the next generation, OmniPoint 2.0. In addition to adjustable actuation, OmniPoint 2.0 introduces dual actuation — a feature that lets you set two actions, triggered at different actuation points, in a single keystroke. As innovative as this all might sound, switches with adjustable actuation and dual actuation aren’t unique to SteelSeries. Razer’s Analog Huntsman keyboards, including both the full-size Huntsman V2 Analog and the 60-percent Huntsman Mini Analog (which dropped in March 2022) have switches with adjustable actuation points and dual-step actuation. Still, since the Analog Huntsman keyboards are, well…analog, the Apex Pro Mini Wireless seems to be the first wireless keyboard with dual actuation. But it doesn’t come cheap: SteelSeries’ Apex Pro Mini costs $180, while the Apex Pro Mini Wireless costs $240 — more expensive than almost every keyboard on our list of best gaming keyboards. 12. Nothing Phone 1 is all set to launch globally on July 12. Just days before the formal debut, a purported official TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) case for the smartphone has been leaked online suggesting the design. The case comes in a black shade with a semitransparent design and it has cut-outs for the speaker and cameras. Additionally, the pre-order pass for Nothing Phone 1 is currently available on Flipkart for everyone without an invite code. The company was earlier providing an invitation code for select customers for availing pre-order passes. Tipster Ishan Agarwal, in collaboration with MySmartPrice, has posted a render of the alleged official TPU case of Nothing Phone 1. It has a semitransparent design and cut-outs for the power button on the spines and at the bottom for the speaker, USB Type-C port, and mics. There is a cut-out at the rear to show off the camera unit. The case also shows a Nothing branding on the back. Nothing is rumoured to bundle the case with the phone.Building up hype around the launch of Nothing Phone 1, the UK-based company started an invite-only programme to allow a limited number of early customers as well as members of its private community to buy a pre-order pass for reserving the phone. The pass, which is available with a refundable deposit of Rs. 2,000, will let them purchase the phone on priority via Flipkart. In a latest update, Flipkart has listed the pre-order pass for Nothing Phone 1 on its website, suggesting users may be able to pre-order the pass directly from the e-commerce site without having to use an invite code. The listing says the pass will be purchasable if users have interacted with the Nothing Phone 1 page on Flipkart, and clicked the Notify Me option. The Nothing Phone 1 will be launched in London on July 12 at 8.30pm IST via a virtual event. It will become available exclusively for pass holders from 9pm on July 12. The first smartphone from the brand led by Carl Pei will be powered by a custom-tuned Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chip. Nothing recently confirmed that the phone is made of recycled aluminium material. It is confirmed to run on Nothing OS based on Android as well.Is Poco F4 5G a new best-of contender under Rs. 30,000? 13. Inflation sends online users to hunt for free and cheap web hosting Combined search for free website builders and free web hosting is at its highest in almost two years as people come to terms with the cost-of-living crisis and wider economic downturn. From May to June 2022 alone, the search volume for free web hosting doubled, with there also being a sharp increase in the number of people looking for free website builder services. This is reflected in the number of site visits some of the top web hosting and website builder services have received. The Shift towards free web hosting There is also some evidence to suggest this shift may have been playing out over a number of years. According to data shared exclusively with TechRadar Pro by Similarweb, GoDaddy has lost roughly 20 million site visits in the last two years while cheap web hosting provider Namecheap gained around eight million. It’s not just GoDaddy that has taken a hit; po[CENSORED]r hosting providers such as Bluehost and HostGator also experienced a significant drop in website visitors from May 2019 to May 2022. Along with Namecheap, affordable hosting provider Hostinger also saw an increase in site visits as monthly visits increased steadily from just over two million in 2019 to 8.2 million in 2022. Interestingly, the search for cheap web hosting took a significant drop in June 2022 as free web hosting became an increasingly po[CENSORED]r search. 14. Unlocking extra performance Contrary to innumerable reports of its demise, overclocking is not dead — not by a long shot. Yes, overclocking headroom for core frequencies has receded as the Intel vs AMD rivalry has intensified and the chipmakers focus on squeezing out every ounce of performance, particularly in the highest-end flagship processors. However, Intel's Alder Lake chips represent a return of generous overclocking headroom, helping the chips take key spots on our list of best CPUs for gaming. AMD's latest chips don't have as much headroom for manual core frequency overclocking — the company's automated overclocking features are best for tuning — but like Intel, the company exposes a wealth of other tuning options for memory and fabrics, which can give you a nice bump in performance. Should you overclock your CPU? Well, there are a set of best practices that you should follow when you overclock your processor, and if you take a reasonable approach, the risk is minimal. However, be advised that excess voltage can damage your chip and it voids the warranty on both Intel and AMD processors, so overclock with care. As always, you'll be at the whims of the silicon lottery when it comes to the maximum overclock you can squeeze out of your chip — some chips simply overclock better than others, even when they are otherwise identical. Today, we'll show you how to overclock your CPU and teach you how to unlock the hidden performance lurking under your heatspreader. For the 'overclocking is dead' crowd, we also have overclocking benchmarks of the performance increases we attained in different types of workloads, showing that you can get more of a performance jump than you'd get by stepping up another chip tier. At times, you can even get a bigger boost than you'd get from stepping up to a newer chip generation. You'll find those results in a section further below. Here's our guide that shows the steps you take to overclock a CPU. Before we start turning up the dial on the voltages (and fans), you'll need to make sure that your system is ready for overclocking. As always, we have to caution you that overclocking voids the warranty on any processor, and you run the risk of damaging your chip if you apply excessive voltage. Overclocking also increases power consumption and heat generation, so you'll need to accept and accommodate those needs. Excessive voltage and heat can also result in reduced chip lifespan due to premature degradation, so you'll want to stay within reasonable boundaries. Do I own an overclockable processor? Naturally, you'll need an overclockable processor. AMD's generous overclocking policy means that you can overclock nearly any chip (the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and a few Athlon models are the only notable exceptions). For Intel, you'll need a K-series chip if you plan on increasing the chips' core frequency, which is the most basic method of overclocking. That's because K-Series chips have an unlocked multiplier that allows you to easily dial up the frequency on your chip. In addition, the graphics-less 'KF' models are also overclockable. If you don't have a K-series chip, your options for overclocking will be far more limited, though you can still aim for higher memory clocks with the last few generations of Intel processors. Does my motherboard allow me to overclock? AMD allows overclocking on any chipset except the A-series motherboards. For Intel, if you plan on doing full core frequency overclocking you'll need a Z-series motherboard, as Intel doesn't allow you to change the chip's frequency on cheaper B- and H-series motherboards. Most higher-end motherboards have robust power delivery subsystems but performance varies, so pay attention to motherboard reviews to find your best option. You can hit our list of Best Motherboards to see the best models on the market. Can my CPU cooler keep my overclocked processor cool? Keeping your CPU as cool as possible is one of the keys to attaining the highest CPU overclocks. Check out our Best CPU coolers article for recommended options, and be sure to use one of the Best Thermal Pastes to ensure your cooler is effective. Ensuring that your case has adequate ventilation is also key so be sure to ensure that you have enough airflow. As a general rule of thumb, more is better for cooling; a CPU cooler that can handle 40% more TDP than your CPU's rating is preferred. However, having less cooling headroom won't prevent you from extracting any gains at all — the chip's peak temperatures will just limit how much you can overclock via the core voltage and frequency. The definition of sufficient cooling can vary based on your personal preference, but your overriding goal should be to prevent thermal throttling, a process that reduces the processor's clock speeds and voltage to prevent damage (killing your chip) from excessive temperatures. We'll dive into that shortly.

  16. Can it compete with Mailchimp and Drip? Zoho Campaigns brings the goods for a reliable email marketing service for businesses, but offers few innovative features to pull ahead from its competitors. Pros + Unique subscription model + Robust data security framework + Free forever account tier + Chat support with quick response time Cons - Few innovative features - Web-based interface not as powerful as competitors’ - No direct phone support Zoho Campaigns(opens in new tab) is a reliable email marketing software(opens in new tab) platform, and would be a solid choice for businesses of all sizes. However, we’re not really sold that Zoho Campaigns can best its competition, such as Drip and Mailchimp. Also, we’re not sure that it is a solid win for the title of best email marketing service. In this Zoho Campaigns email marketing services review, we take a look at the platform’s strengths and weaknesses, in comparison to its closest competitors. By the end, you’ll have a full understanding about whether the platform works for your online marketing strategy. Zoho Campaigns offers three subscription plans: the Forever Free plan, the Standard plan, and the Professional plan. The Forever Free(opens in new tab) plan has limited features that enables you to send 6,000 emails per month to up to 2,000 contacts. It can support an Admin and up to 4 additional users, basic email templates, and signup and popup forms. This plan is an ok starting point for a low volume business just getting a start. The Standard(opens in new tab) plan is a better service for businesses that only send emails occasionally. With this plan, you can send unlimited emails, but the price is based on the number of contacts. 500 contacts is the starting amount for $4/month, with the option to pay annually at a cost of $3/month- a savings of 25%. This can go up to a maximum of 100k contacts at $92/month. Features include advanced email templates, advanced segmentation, dynamic content, and A/B testing to determine which of two emails is the more effective one. Finally, at the top is the Professional(opens in new tab) plan which starts at a cost of $6/month for the same 500 contacts, on up to $403/month for 100,000 contacts. It adds features such as autoresponders, drag-and-drop workflow automation and campaign managerial approval. Zoho Campaigns empowers users to design impressive email campaigns which will engage your customers or clients with personalized content. A Zoho Campaigns subscription has plenty of features that you’d expect in an email marketing provider, however it doesn’t offer a high level of innovation. When starting out with Zoho Campaigns, database software(opens in new tab) management tools enable you to import contacts from third-party platforms such as G-Suite, Eventbrite, Microsoft Excel and Zoho’s own ZohoCRM(opens in new tab). Contacts get classified into one of three types: marketing, non-marketing, or unsubscribed so campaigns only get sent to those in the marketing category. With the goal of ensuring your database is clean and up to date, Zoho campaigns automatically removes duplicate email addresses, as well as those that bounce or whose users have unsubscribed. It also has industry-standard features including list segmentation and custom merge tags that keep your database organized and ensure your emails not only look good but have a personal touch. The platform’s campaign design studio features custom templates and an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, such useful features that make it a snap to design professional-looking email campaigns. With a new campaign created, automated workflows enable you to interact with customers at just the right moment with the right content. Once initiated, automated workflows translate to every customer’s interaction with your business as a personal one.
  17. It's modular, recyclable, open source, ortholinear, moddable, 3D printable, and more. Forget what you know about gaming laptops and instead take a look at this mini laptop from German designer MNT. This is the Pocket Reform, and it throws out the rulebook for laptop design and forges a new path; it's moddable, open source, recyclable, eco-friendly, and entirely adorable. There are a lot of things I like about this laptop but most of all that it appears to entirely do away with the idea that a laptop isn't upgradeable. Sure on a modern gaming laptop you can probably swap the SSD and RAM, but with the Pocket Reform you can entirely swap out its innards. You can even 3D print new parts, including a new case, if you want. It's entirely open to interpretation and innovation. It's similar to Framework's Mainboard(opens in new tab) in that way, which is another modular laptop trying to open up the portable platform. However, these two differ in that where the Mainboard offers relatively powerful parts, the Pocket Reform's are much less so. You can choose between the NXP i.MX8M Plus, NXP Layerscape LS1028A, Pine SOQuartz RK3566 or Raspberry Pi CM4. If you don't want any of these Arm-powered options, there's the Xilinx (now AMD) designed Kintex-7 FPGA too, though that's not going to be for everyone These processor modules all come with RAM attached but can be swapped out in a pinch. The source code for all the parts is also available, if required. Of course, you're not going to get much PC gaming done on a machine with no discrete GPU or high-performance parts, but perhaps there's some scope for retro emulation gaming on the go. The Pocket Reform comes with a screen that's only 7-inches across diagonally. Though that runs at a 1080p resolution, which makes for a fairly high pixel pitch of 310 ppi. If you're after something bigger, there is the MNT Reform, which is a 12.5-inch device. Still not massive, but a little more traditional in size than the Pocket. You can actually use the MNT Reform's processor modules within the 7-inch Pocket, which is pretty neat. Yet this mini laptop's neatest trick, at least to a fan of clacky keyboards like myself, is that the onboard mechanical keyboard (fitted with Kailh Choc White switches) is in an ortholinear layout. All the buttons are lined up vertically for ergonomic typing, and once you get used to the layout it's an absolute dream to type on. For storage, there's an NVMe SSD slot, a MicroSD slot, and up to 128GB of eMMC flash onboard. When it comes to connectivity, you've plenty of options, too. There's onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with the standard i.MX8MP module, but also a WWAN slot for mobile internet if you want portable 4G/5G. MNT doesn't specify a battery life for this device as of yet, but with 8,000mAh between its two batteries, I would guess it will last quite a while on a single charge. There's just something about this quirky little device that grabs my attention, and while it's not going to make much of a gaming machine, it needn't matter. I'd take Linux if it meant such a small and savvy design because ultimately it's the modularity and openness of this system that really appeals. Make a module with the APU ripped right out of the Steam Deck and I'd be all over it. You have to keep an eye on the Pocket Reform's product page(opens in new tab) for updates on availability, as it's not available on the company's store just yet.

  21. You know one company has a bit too many budget phones when its newest device is called the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. The name is as close to a tongue-twister as it gets in the smartphone world and you just cannot expect a regular person to remember that name. Even explaining the whole concept takes a few paragraphs, but let me give it a try: so, OnePlus launched the original Nord a couple of years ago in an attempt to revolutionize budget phones, but at around $400, the Nord was still not super cheap. So not long after the original Nord, we got the Nord CE, which stands for "Core Edition" and is a kind of a stripped down version of the Nord that in order to sell cheaper loses the signature alert slider and a few nice features along the way. This year, OnePlus launched the second generation of that Nord CE aka Core Edition device, and it had 5G, hence Nord CE 2 5G. But then, the company obviously realized that it needed to sell an even cheaper phone so it further modified that into the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. Feeling dizzy? I know I am, but that's the phone we have up for review and put simply this is the cheapest new OnePlus phone in 2022. So... what's the price you may wonder? The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G (gosh...) costs £280 in the UK, while the non-Lite version costs... £300. That's it! 20 quid! Was it even worth making this phone? We will keep on wondering, but if you want to find out all about that story, just keep on reading. 22. Cool new video editing features for a sensible price Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2022 is a good and affordable video editor, with a fine set of new tools. Most of these work great, making the editing software a great addition to most people’s video creation workflow. Sadly, a few features need a little more polish to truly shine. Pros + Simple to use + Many useful new features + Great transcription tool + Lovely new transitions Cons - PC only - Some new features don’t work as advertised - Some new tools are gimmicky - Interface feels dated We’ve always found Corel VideoStudio Ultimate to be a competent video editor. Ideal for those who don’t need the professional-grade Premiere Pro or Da Vinci Resolve to cut footage. However, when we last reviewed Corel’s program, we were disappointed the software didn’t really break any new ground. Since then, Corel has packed its consumer-level video editing software with tons of new features. So, how does VideoStudio Ultimate fare now? Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2022 at Amazon for $69.99Upon install we were still asked what TV system we use - PAL or NTSC. Although both obviously still exist, in a time where most people will be uploading to the web, it feels totally superfluous. So much so, we don’t encounter other software asking for this information at the outset anymore. t’s a puzzle why it’s there, as it gives the software an antiquated feel that it actually doesn’t deserve considering the new features on offer. Subtitling is really important. As an accessibility feature, it allows more people to enjoy your content, whether to make it easier for them to understand, or if they’re watching it in a location where keeping the volume down is a necessity. But there’s a drawback: it can be a time-consuming affair. That’s where the new Speech to Text converter comes in. With it, VideoStudio will analyze your selected clip and transform what is said on-screen into editable text. As you’d expect, you may encounter some transcription glitches. However, it’s easy enough to edit the results, even customizing the subtitles’ font, size, color, effects, and duration. Obviously there’s still some work involved, but having a truly easy-to-use algorithm do the original heavy lifting of transcribing and timing for you will save you a huge amount of time, and will likely encourage others to include subtitles in their videos going forward. There’s also an option to export them as an SRT file, enabling you to include them in YouTube videos as closed captions for instance. Sadly, you only have a limited number of languages that are recognised by this tool. At the time of review, only English, German, French, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Italian, Dutch, and Japanese are supported. https://www.techradar.com/reviews/corel-videostudio-ultimate-2022

  25. We've put this one-man FSR 2.0 mod up against DLSS 2.0 and the results are impressive. Just kill motion blur, eh? Last week AMD made its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0 upscaler open source on Github(opens in new tab) so that developers could easily implement its latest upscaling technology into their own games with the minimum of fuss. To prove just what is possible in this brave new world, one enterprising mod, the wonderfully named PotatoOfDoom(opens in new tab), has used this to add FSR 2.0 to Cyberpunk 2077(opens in new tab). This is more a proof of concept than anything else, but it works and can boost your framerates significantly too. How it works is probably the most impressive thing of all. Our heroic modder has taken the DLSS framework and repatched it to use the AMD FSR 2.0 DLLs. Once you've downloaded the files and copied them to the same location as the main Cyberpunk 2077 executable you'll need to run a specific registry tweak to set up the translation from DLSS to the FSR 2.0 commands. In case you're wondering, Cyberpunk 2077 already has support for AMD FSR 1.0, which is a fine way of boosting your performance if you don't have access to DLSS, but it basically doesn't look anywhere near as good. That first implementation isn't a temporal upscaler, so you'll see plenty of shimmering of smaller elements like wires and railings. FSR 2.0, however, is temporal, so the biggest thing you'll spot is that in motion it simply looks much better. PC Gamer is supported by its audience. As you can see from the benchmarks below, DLSS is not only quicker, but it looks better too, although honestly, it's so close to FSR 2.0 that you'd be hard pushed to spot the difference outside of pausing the game and comparing screenshots. At least for the most part—there are a couple of artifacts with this implementation, but it's still better than FSR 1.0. Even though this is a beast of a card, it still needs some form of upscaling to hit smooth frame rates at 3440 x 1440. This card is capable of running the Quality upscaling presets, and here there isn't a lot between DLSS and FSR 2.0.One thing to note from these performance figures is that FSR 2.0's quality looks much better than the FSR 1.0 equivalent. So while this newer version of AMD's upscaling technology has a small performance hit over the original at the same quality setting, it means you can actually drop to a lower preset and enjoy a better gaming experience.Realistically you're going to want to use FSR 2.0 on older graphics cards, and that means the various high-quality settings are going to be a bit too demanding on your hardware. This means you're going to want to look at the Ultra Performance upscaling instead, and here the difference between FSR 1.0 and FSR 2.0 is much more pronounced. This mod is a work in progress, so don't be surprised if you run into a few glitches along the way. Reflections appear to suffer right now, and you'll notice heavy ghosting when driving too. But honestly, given this is the work of a single modder, it's impressive that it runs at all. PSA: Turn motion blur off. If you don't, the game will run overly dark and you'll get black flickering when you look around. To be fair you should turn off motion blur anyway, as it's fairly vomit-inducing at the best of times, but it's particularly important here. It'll be interesting to see if CD Projekt Red officially adds FSR 2.0 to Cyberpunk 2077 in a future patch. We're expecting Cyberpunk's first expansion(opens in new tab) later this year, although there's nothing official on the release date so far.
