Honda said it now forecasts a full-year operating profit of 420 billion yen ($4.06 billion) up from a previous prediction of a 200 billion yen profit. Honda Motor Co on Friday more than doubled its full-year operating profit forecast as it reported second-quarter earnings grew 28% amid a rebound in China after auto sales were squeezed by the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Japan's third-biggest automaker said it now forecasts a full-year operating profit of 420 billion yen ($4.06 billion) up from a previous prediction of a 200 billion yen profit. That was well above an average estimate for a 254.6 billion yen profit compiled from 19 analysts polled by Refinitiv. For the second quarter, operating profit came in at 283 billion yen, up from 220 billion yen in the same period a year earlier. The upgrade came after a similar move by peer Toyota Motor Corp earlier on Friday. Honda and peers like Toyota are focusing more on China, the world's biggest auto market, as it leads a rebound in global demand that was hurt by the coronavirus pandemic. For the full business year, Honda said it expects to sell 4.6 million cars. That's up from a previous forecast of 4.5 million, but still below the 4.79 million sold the previous year. Like other automakers, Honda is also accelerating a shift to electric cars and other zero-emission vehicles, a change in strategy that was behind its decision last month to end its participation as an engine supplier in the FIA Formula One World Championship. Honda last month launched its first mass-produced all-battery car this month - the Honda e - and wants two-thirds of its output to be new-energy vehicles by 2030. In the United States, meanwhile, Honda is looking to win a bigger market share with redesigned sports utility vehicles (SUVs) as it chases a shift in consumer demand for larger, all-wheel drive models. In September Honda unveiled plans to deepen its partnership in North America with General Motors Co to jointly develop low-emission vehicles that would allow them to share technology and costs.. 1) Get a basic cell phone. It would be nice to say that a cell phone was not necessary at all, but pay phones have disappeared and if you need to call someone in an emergency, you will need a cell phone. 2) Cut the cable cord. Many people are spending well in excess of $100 a month on cable television that gives them 500 different channels. Out of all those channels, most people watch 10 to 15. Instead of having a cable bill, use over-the-air stations you receive for free. Add a streaming service and you will never miss cable. Without cable, you can go back to an old, reliable method of entertainment—talking to one another. 3) Get rid of credit cards. Credit cards are nice. They allow people to buy things they otherwise could not afford and pay for it over time. They also become a burden that drags many people down each month. 4) Declutter the home. A search around the home will find many things that are not needed or are no longer used. Find different ways to declutter your life and get rid of the things that are no longer necessary. It is even possible to make some money selling these things that can be used to help in other areas, such as paying off credit card debt. 5) Get rid of monthly expenses that are not needed. Many people are paying for gym memberships, mobile internet service, and many other monthly services they barely use. They have often put the monthly payments on their credit card so they do not even realize how much they are spending and not using. There are often ways to get the same things that you get from these pay services without having to pay. Gym memberships can be replaced with exercising at a local park or walking around the neighborhood. If you need internet service away from home, look for Wi-Fi hot spots. They are found at many restaurants, hotels, and coffee shops. It might take effort to do this at first, but once it becomes a habit, it is easy to do. 6)Start to track your expenses. One thing people will benefit from doing is tracking the money they spend. It is the best way to find out when you are spending money and what you are spending it on. It is possible you will find you are spending a lot of money you don’t need to. You may find that second car is an expense you may not need. You could take public transportation to work and get by without a second car and all of its headaches. When you realize that, it becomes possible to make changes. 7)Track your time. Pay attention to how much time you are spending doing things. Look for ways to cut down on time you think is being wasted on unnecessary things. Time and money are two of the most valuable resources people have. When life gets simpler, the amount of these two things that a person has available will rise. That is the benefit of a simpler life in today’s world. The great thing about this list is that people have choices. They can choose to do one of them, all of them, or some of them. They can start out with just one and then add some others later. Life is about choices. Choosing simple living is something that is becoming a po[CENSORED]r thing to do.

Zoom on Wednesday unveiled OnZoom, a platform for posting and finding quarantine-friendly virtual events ranging from concerts to cooking and fitness classes. The video chat platform also revealed "Zapps," or Zoom apps -- that live within Zoom and let you access them directly from video chats, for easier workplace collaboration. Finally, Zoom said it would begin rolling out end-to-end encryption for free and paid users next week. Here's everything you need to know about the two new Zoom features. For more, check out how to become a Zoom pro, and how to change your background in Zoom. Read more: Ultimate webcam tips: How to look and sound great online Quarantine-friendly virtual events OnZoom is a marketplace where people can host, search for and attend events. Hosts can securely monetize their events by selling tickets or asking for donations through PayPal. Hosts can also control security settings to try and prevent Zoombombing, when uninvited guests disrupt meetings. Each event will be capped at 1,000 participants (depending on your Zoom membership), but there is a livestream option to reach more people. Hosts can also share your event through email and social media. For attendees, OnZoom is somewhat similar to Facebook Events -- you can search through public events like concerts, fitness classes and other lessons. Securely purchase tickets through PayPal or credit card, gift tickets to others and favorite, share and rate events. OnZoom is currently available in the US as a public beta. It will expand worldwide in 2021. You can join events with a free Zoom account, but must have a Built-in apps for work Zapps aim to make it easier for people to work together within Zoom. Currently in beta, there will be 35 zapps available at launch by the end of the year, including Dropbox, Slack, Asana, Box, Miro, Woven, Smartsheet and Salesforce. You'll be able to open the app directly within a Zoom call, and it will appear in a panel to the right of your video. Or, you can pull it out into its own window. Using the Dropbox zapp, for example, you can co-create an agenda, share files, take notes and capture follow up tasks, all without leaving Zoom. Once live, you'll be able to click on the Zapps button at the bottom of your Zoom screen to open the Zapps store, either within your meeting or through your main Zoom page. Zapps will be available worldwide by the end of the year, on both free and paid Zoom accounts. There will be additional features for enterprise Zoom accounts in terms of IT management apps and compliance. Zoom saw massive growth at the start of coronavirus lockdowns back in March, as much of the world turned to connecting over video chat for work, socializing and entertainment. The service hit 300 million daily meeting participants by April, outpacing other giants in the space including Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. Though it experienced a number of security issues, it has since made several changes, including full encryption for all users. It'll also soon be available on your Amazon Echo Show devices, Google Nest smart displays and the Facebook Portal, if it isn't already.

Increased performance for an increased price We might know the MSRP pricing of the AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs in the US, but that doesn't tell us much about European pricing. Typically, the prices numerically translate one-to-one (ie. Something that costs $100 excluding tax costs €100 including tax) but that isn't always the case. Meanwhile, a Danish retailer called Proshop has listed four Ryzen 5000 series CPUs with their details and prices on the German webshop. At first, we, along with a handful of other publications thought these were just placeholders, but the clever investigative work of ComputerBase confirms that these are in fact real prices. So let's dig into the numbers. The thing to note is that the Proshop prices, per EU law, include the VAT (Value Added Tax) in the purchase price, which in Germany is set at 19%. Do the math on that, and you'll realize that the pre-tax prices of the 5800X and 5900X parts in Europe are actually a hair cheaper than in the US, though the 5600X and 5950X are tad more expensive. Consumers also have better protection for their goods, with the EU mandating a 14-day 'preview period' on all online goods orders and a mandatory minimum 2-year warranty period, offered by the seller. Still, these prices are a steep increase over the Ryzen 3000-series parts, which by now have come down from their original MSRPs. Currently, these Ryzen 5000 prices are about 20% higher than the respective 3000 series parts, which is in-line with AMD's claims of increased performance. The chips from Proshop are expected to ship out on the 5th of November, though Proshop was unable to tell Computerbase about availability on launch.
