  1. The idea of being swallowed whole by an animal has long fueled folklore, thrillers, and nightmares. From the biblical story of Jonah to modern survival accounts, it seems the concept is both terrifying and oddly fascinating. But what if these stories aren’t just tales spun to entertain? In the wild, some creatures truly have the anatomical capabilities to engulf humans whole or trap them temporarily within their cavernous mouths. Imagine diving into a tranquil ocean, only to find yourself face-to-face with the gaping maw of a whale shark. Or hiking in the jungle and crossing paths with a reticulated python, coiled and ready. While such scenarios are rare, they’re not entirely fiction. Over the years, encounters with creatures like massive pythons, crocodiles, and even whales have shown that nature can be stranger—and more terrifying—than we imagine.Animals that can swallow humans whole: Real-life incidents and details While extremely rare, certain animals have the size and anatomical adaptations to potentially swallow humans whole. Below are detailed insights into these species, along with real-life accounts where applicable.Anatomy and Capability: Reticulated pythons can grow over 20 feet long, making them the longest snakes in the world. Their flexible jaws and powerful constriction allow them to engulf prey significantly larger than their heads.Real-Life Incidents: In 2018, in Indonesia, a 54-year-old woman named Wa Tiba was swallowed whole by a 23-foot reticulated python. Villagers found the snake and her body inside its stomach. In 2017, another Indonesian man named Akbar was killed and swallowed by a python while working on his palm oil plantation. https://indianexpress.com/article/lifestyle/pets-animals/4-animals-that-can-swallow-humans-whole-9797530/
  2. CAIRO, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia said it would not establish ties with Israel without the creation of a Palestinian state, contradicting President Donald Trump's claim that Riyadh was not demanding a Palestinian homeland when he said the U.S. wants to take over the Gaza Strip. In a shocking announcement, Trump said on Tuesday the United States would take over the war-ravaged enclave after Palestinians are resettled elsewhere and develop it economically. He was speaking at a joint press conference with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.Saudi Arabia rejects any attempts to displace the Palestinians from their land, Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday, adding that its stance towards the Palestinians is not negotiable. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has affirmed the kingdom's position in 'a clear and explicit manner' that does not allow for any interpretation under any circumstances, the statement said.Any proposed displacement of Palestinians is a highly sensitive matter among both Palestinians and Arab countries. As fighting raged in the Gaza war, Palestinians feared they would suffer from another "Nakba", or catastrophe, the time when hundreds of thousands were dispossessed of their homes in the war at the birth of the state of Israel. When it comes to Saudi policy in the Middle East, the stakes are high for both Trump and Israel. The United States had led months of diplomacy to get Saudi Arabia, one of the most powerful and influential Arab states, to normalise ties with Israel and recognise the country. But the Gaza war, which began in October 2023, led Riyadh to shelve the matter in the face of Arab anger over Israel's offensive. Trump would like Saudi Arabia to follow in the footsteps of countries like the United Arab Emirates, a Middle East trade and business hub, and Bahrain which signed the so-called Abraham Accords in 2020 and normalised ties with Israel. In doing so, they became the first Arab states in a quarter century to break a longstanding taboo. Establishing ties with Saudi Arabia would be a grand prize for Israel because the kingdom has vast influence in the Middle East, the wider Muslim world, and it is the world's biggest oil exporter. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/saudi-arabia-says-it-wont-establish-ties-with-israel-without-creation-2025-02-05/

  6. Pakistan’s headline inflation clocked in at 2.4% on a year-on-year basis in January 2025, a reading below that of December 2024 when it stood at 4.1%, showed Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data on Monday. On a month-on-month basis, CPI increased by 0.2% in January 2025 as compared to 0.1% in the previous month and an increase of 1.8% in January 2024. This is the “lowest reading in 111 months,” said Topline Securities. Experts attributed the decline in inflation to a high base effect and lower food inflation. CPI inflation average during 7MFY25 stood at 6.5% as compared to 28.73% in 7MFY24. Inflation in Pakistan has been a significant and persistent economic challenge, particularly in recent years. In May 2023, the CPI inflation rate hit a record high of 38%. However, it has been on a downward trajectory since then. Days ago, the Finance Division said that policy interventions and administrative actions successfully controlled inflation, leading to a reduction in the prices of essential items. Last month, in line with expectations, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reduced the key policy rate by 100 basis points (bps), taking it down to 12%. This was the sixth successive cut in the key interest rate since June 2024 when it stood at 22%. After the policy rate decision, Governor SBP Jameel Ahmad told a presser that inflation would ease further in January before inching up in the subsequent months. Meanwhile, the latest CPI reading was even lower than the projections made by several brokerage houses. JS Global projected inflation reading to clock below 3% in January. “Ongoing sharp disinflation trend is expected to persist, with Jan-2025 CPI likely to fall to 2.8% (lowest since Nov-2015 owing to a high base affect), despite 0.6% MoM uptick,” the brokerage house said. A similar reading was given by Ismail Iqbal Securities Limited, another brokerage house. “Inflation for Jan’25 is projected at 2.9%, sharply down from 28.3% the same period last year, reflecting a significant easing in price pressures,” it said. Urban, rural inflation The PBS said CPI inflation urban decreased to 2.7% on year-on-year basis in January 2025 as compared to 4.4% in the previous month and 30.2% in January 2024. On month-on-month basis, it increased to 0.2% in January 2025 as compared to negative change of 0.1% in the previous month and an increase of 1.8% in January 2024. CPI inflation rural decreased to 1.9% on year-on-year basis in January 2025 as compared to 3.6% in the previous month and 25.7% in January 2024. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.2% in January 2025 as compared to 0.3% in the previous month and an increase of 1.9% in January 2024. https://www.brecorder.com/news/40346026/inflation-in-pakistan-clocks-in-at-24-in-january-2025
  7. Benton Animal Services has seen an increased number of adoptions over the past month, thanks to an online campaign for short-term foster care. Volunteer Susan Taylor kicked off the initiative, recruiting local businesses and leaders to spread the word about how many dogs were in danger of being hurt during the recent cold snap. “I was worried about the winter weather and felt like the shelter staff would appreciate some help in keeping their dogs safe and warm. The facility's ground holds moisture, and I knew the outdoor kennel dogs needed to have a dry space,” Taylor said. “As the temperatures continued to drop, I became more worried and decided I could do more than blankets and beds and covering the kennels with canvas. I asked Mallori Howard, Animal Services Manager], if short-term fosters were an option, she said yes, and the rest is animal rescue history.” The call went out on Jan. 4. By Jan. 8, 28 out of 62 dogs had been placed in foster care. Howard said the effects have been long-lasting. “The short-term fostering was very successful. First, it helped dogs get out of the shelter's outdoor kennels during the extreme cold temperatures we had and secondly, it helped us learn more about the animals. Foster families were able to tell us if the animal was house-trained and how it acted in a home environment,” Howard said. “It is often hard to learn a dog's true personality in the shelter setting. It was also so successful because the foster families reached out to their families, friends, and social media to help promote the dog for adoption. We also had several foster fails, where the foster family adopted the dog themselves. The short term fostering has been great so we can learn more about the pet, the pet can be in a home, and the pet still spends some time at the shelter and adoption events to meet potential adopters.” Of the 28 dogs placed in short-term foster care, 17 found permanent homes. Howard said that animal services staff have been inspired by the process. “I hope to continue to launch dogs out for short-term fosters in the future where people can foster a dog for 30 days or less, and either return the dog to the shelter if it is not adopted and switch out so our longer-term dogs will have time outside the shelter and we can launch them for adoption in new ways,” she said. With the threat of extreme weather now passed, the amount of volunteer fosters has decreased. However, Howard said that the online campaign has sparked interest in volunteering in other ways, such as walking the dogs. “We stay full and have limited staff. Doggy day out and fostering are great, but we also encourage people to come out and help us walk and interact with the dogs,” she said. “Even if it is just 30 minutes, that might be the only time that dog is outside the kennel that day.” Howard said another way residents can help the shelter is by ensuring pets stay with their owners. She said the staff do everything they can to keep dogs where they belong, even if they have run away from home. “We bring in animals almost every day. One way the city can help is to microchip your animal. The shelter offers free microchipping for those in the city of Benton. To schedule an appointment, residents need to contact the shelter at 501-776-5972,” Howard said. “Second, we encourage people to reclaim their pet. We understand it can be pricey, but there are ways we can assist with the payment, so we encourage pet owners not to be deterred from reclaiming pets because of reclaim fees.” https://www.bentoncourier.com/news/benton-animal-services-has-increase-of-adoptions-with-online-campaign/article_f43e8d7c-df56-11ef-8418-0fe71b6cffc1.html
  8. Automakers discontinue vehicles all the time, be it due to slow sales, old age, or plans to replace them with entirely new models. For 2025, more than 30 cars met their maker. Even though we’re less than two months into the new year, nearly 20 cars are on the chopping block for 2026. This year’s list includes some beloved models, like the Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman, which will make way for their electric replacements. One of America’s cheapest cars, the Nissan Versa, likely won’t stick around for 2026. Luxury brands like BMW and Infiniti, meanwhile, have major plans to revamp their lineups—which means many of their vehicles won’t live to see the new year. As always, more cars will be added to this list as the year goes on. For now, take a look at some of the cars that we’ll have to say goodbye to for 2026.Technically speaking, the Audi A4 name isn’t dead. As the brand streamlines its range as part of ongoing electrification efforts, the gas A5 will replace the gas A4, while Audi plans to revive the A4 name—in some form or another—with an electric powertrain in the near future. With that said, the current model will exit the lineup after the 2025 model year, leaving behind a sporty compact luxury sedan with a $45,395 starting price and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The BMW X4 was a pretty hot commodity when it debuted back in 2014. But in the decade since, buyers seemingly fell out of love with the funky luxury SUV. BMW will reportedly kill the X4 after the 2025 model year. Don’t worry, BMW still has the new X2 crossover coupe to fill its awkward shoes. https://www.motor1.com/features/749149/dead-cars-2026/
  9. Aston Villa have signed Spain midfielder Marco Asensio on loan from Paris St-Germain until the end of the season. The three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid is Villa's fourth signing of the winter transfer window after Marcus Rashford, Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia. Villa will reportedly cover the 29-year-old's wages but do not have an option to make the move permanent. Asensio has scored seven goals in 47 appearances for PSG since joining from Real Madrid in the summer of 2023. He helped the club win the French title last season, but this term he has made just eight league starts. He was also part of the Spain squad that won the Nations League in 2023. Villa boss Unai Emery said his side needed new players following Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Wolves, which left the club eighth in the Premier League. They sold Colombia striker Jhon Duran to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in a £71m deal and centre-back Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce for around £8.45m. Earlier on Monday they loaned 21-year-old winger Samuel Iling-Junior to Middlesbrough for the rest of the season. Villa completed the loan signing of Manchester United forward Rashford, 27 - which includes an option to buy for £40m - on Sunday. Netherlands forward Malen, 26, joined Villa for £19m from Borussia Dortmund three weeks ago, while Spanish full-back Garcia, 21, joined from Levante for a reported fee of £6m with a further £1m in add-ons. Asensio could make his Villa debut alongside Rashford against Tottenham in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday (17:35 GMT) - a match that is live on BBC One and iPlayer. Villa are also in the last 16 of the Champions League. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cj918vvmz0go
  10. The COVID-19 pandemic illuminated a vast landscape of misinformation about many topics, science and health chief among them. Since then, information overload continues unabated, and many people are rightfully confused by an onslaught of conflicting health information. Even expert advice is often contradictory. On top of that, people sometimes deliberately distort research findings to promote a certain agenda. For example, trisodium phosphate is a common food additive in cakes and cookies that is used to improve texture and prevent spoilage, but wellness influencers exploit the fact that a similarly named substance is used in paint and cleaning products to suggest it’s dangerous to your health. Such claims can proliferate quickly, creating widespread misconceptions and undermining trust in legitimate scientific research and medical advice. Social media’s rise as a news and information source further fuels the spread of pseudoscientific views.Misinformation is rampant in the realm of health and nutrition. Findings from nutrition research is rarely clear-cut because diet is just one of many behaviors and lifestyle factors affecting health, but the simplicity of using food and supplements as a cure-all is especially seductive. I am an assistant professor specialising in medical education and science communication. I also train scientists and future health care professionals how to communicate their science to the general public. In my view, countering the voices of social media influencers and health activists promoting pseudoscientific health claims requires leaning into the science of disease prevention. Extensive research has produced a body of evidence-based practices and public health measures that have consistently been shown to improve the health of millions of people around the world. Evaluating po[CENSORED]r health claims against the yardstick of this work can help distinguish which ones are based on sound science. That’s because a food or beverage is rarely just good or bad. Instead, its health effects can depend on everything from the quantity a person consumes to their genetic makeup. Hundreds of scientific studies describe coffee’s health benefits and, on the flip side, its health risks. A bird’s-eye view can point in one direction or another, but news articles and social media posts often make claims based on a single study. Things can get even more confusing with dietary supplements because people who promote them often make big claims about their health benefits. Take apple cider vinegar, for example – or ACV, if you’re in the know. https://indianexpress.com/article/lifestyle/health/nutrition-advice-misinformation-medical-education-specialist-valid-health-information-from-pseudoscience-9814315/
  11. In a key development, Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum and US President Donald Trump have agreed to temporarily halt the sweeping US tariffs on Mexico’s exports, delaying their implementation for one month. The announcement came just hours before the tariffs were due to take effect, with both leaders confirming the agreement on social media platforms. Sheinbaum, the first to reveal the decision, praised the "good conversation" with Trump, emphasizing mutual respect for both nations' sovereignty. As part of the agreement, Mexico will deploy 10,000 National Guard troops to its northern border to combat drug trafficking into the United States. In return, Sheinbaum highlighted that the US would work on reducing the trafficking of high-powered firearms into Mexico, which has fueled organized crime in the country. Trump, in his post on Truth Social, characterized the conversation with Sheinbaum as "very friendly" and reiterated that the Mexican troops would focus on curbing the flow of fentanyl and illegal migrants into the US He did not mention any actions to prevent firearms trafficking to Mexico. This deal temporarily diffuses one aspect of the escalating global trade tensions stirred by Trump's re-election bid, in which he campaigned on raising tariffs for international goods entering the US His plan included 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada, arguing the tariffs were necessary to tackle undocumented migration and drug smuggling across Us borders. Tariff Delays and Ongoing trade tensions While this pause in tariffs addresses one front of the brewing trade war, it does not resolve the looming threat of 25% tariffs on Canada, which remains in effect. Trump also signaled ongoing discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with China also facing 10% tariff increases. Canada has been particularly vocal in its response, with Prime Minister Trudeau warning of retaliatory tariffs on $105bn worth of US imports. He cited the potential harm to both Canadian and American workers, especially targeting key products such as Florida oranges, Kentucky bourbon, and Pennsylvania-made motorcycles. The intertwined economies of Mexico, Canada, and the US are highly vulnerable to the effects of a full-scale trade war, especially in industries like automotive and agriculture. Experts have warned that US consumers could bear the brunt of higher prices resulting from these tariffs. Despite the risks, Trump has framed the tariffs as a necessary measure to "Make America Great Again", acknowledging the potential for domestic blowback. https://tribune.com.pk/story/2526338/mexico-to-deploy-10000-troops-to-us-border-in-exchange-for-one-month-tariff-delay

  14. Donald Trump's talk of applying new tariffs to goods from America's biggest trade partners has sparked months of uncertainty for business owners. On Saturday, the president made good on his threats, ordering a new 25% tax on shipments from Mexico and Canada and raising existing tariffs on goods from China by 10%. But that has not stopped the questions. "Is it for a day, is it a political flex or is it something that will last for four years?" asked Nicolas Palazzi, the founder of Brooklyn-based PM Spirits. He runs a 21-person business that imports and sells wine and spirits, about 20% of which come from Mexico.Trump's orders set in motion threats that the president has discussed for months, striking at shipments from America's top three trade partners, which together account for more than 40% of the roughly $3tn goods the US imports each year. Canadian oil and other "energy resources" will face a lower 10% rate. But otherwise, there will be no exceptions, the White House said. Trump said the tariffs were intended to hold Canada and Mexico accountable for promises to address illegal immigration and drug trafficking. The measures go into effect on 4 February and are to remain in place "until the crisis is alleviated," according to the orders. If the plans were not a surprise, they still presented a potentially stunning blow to many businesses, especially for those in North America. The three countries have become tightly linked economically after decades of free trade under a treaty signed in the 1990s, known then as Nafta and updated and renamed under the Trump administration to USMCA. The growth of mezcal in the US, brought in by businesses like Palazzi's, has been part of this shift. Since 2003, consumption of tequila and mezcal has roughly tripled, increasing at a rate of more than 7% each year, according to Distilled Spirits Council, a trade group. Overall since the 1990s, trade in spirits between the US and Mexico has surged by more than 4,000% percent, said the organisation, which issued a statement after the president's announcement warning that the tariffs would "significantly harm all three countries". For months, Palazzi has been fielding nervous questions from his suppliers in Mexico, who are typically small, family owned businesses and may not survive if the tariffs are prolonged. If it sticks, he said the 25% tax on the bottles of mezcal, tequila and rum he brings in will push up prices - and sales will drop. "Definitely this is going to impact the business negatively. But can you really plan? No," he said. "Our strategy is roll-with-the-punches, wait and see and adapt to whatever craziness is going to unfold." Economists say the hit from the tariffs could push the economies of Mexico and Canada into recession. Ahead of the announcement, Dan Kelly, president of the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses, described the looming tariffs from the US, and expected retaliation, as "existential" for many of his members. "Look, we get that the government has got to respond in some fashion …. But at the same time we urge the government to use caution," he said, comparing tariffs on imports to chemotherapy: "It poisons your own people in order to try and fight the disease." "It's going to have an effect everywhere," said Sophie Avernin, director of De Grandes Viñedos de Francia in Mexico, noting that many Americans own Mexican alcohol brands and Modelo beer is actually owned by a Belgian company. Trump, who has embraced tariffs as a tool to address issues far removed from trade, has dismissed concerns about any collateral damage to the economy in the US. But analysts have warned the measures will weigh on growth, raise prices and cost the economy jobs - roughly 286,000, according to estimates by the Tax Foundation, not including retaliation. Those in the alcohol business said the industry had already been struggling to emerge from the shadow of the pandemic and its after-shocks, including inflation, which has prompted many Americans to cut back on dining out and drinking. Smaller firms, who typically have less financial cushion and ability to swallow a sudden 25% jump in cost, will bear the brunt of the disruption. "I'm pretty frustrated," said California-based importer Ben Scott, whose nine-person business Pueblo de Sabor brings in brands from Mexico such as Mal Bien and Lalocura. "There's just a huge cost that's going to affect so many people in ways other than they're paying a couple bucks more for a cocktail, which doesn't sound like a tragedy." https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1kmp99431mo
  15. The Western regional centre of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) recently received cases in which dog skin is traded as wild animal skin. Within a year the centre has received at least 3-4 cases where dog skin was traded as tiger or leopard skin by painting it with artificial colours. This has highlighted the need for conservation efforts and strengthening law enforcement and penalties in such cases.Over the years illegal wildlife trade has emerged as a form of organised transnational crime that has threatened the existence of many wild species in India. This includes diverse products including mongoose hair, snake skins, Rhino horns, Tiger and Leopard claws, bones, skins, whiskers, Elephant tusks, deer antlers, etc. Efforts are going on to prevent this illegal Wildlife trade, with the help of the Wildlife Protection Act. The counterfeit skin trade is also emerging as a big challenge for security agencies as this is not only harmful to wild animals but also the domestic animals which are not covered under any legal protection with regard to illegal trading. Recently the ZSI, Pune received a case, where police officials from Ratnagiri district sought their help in verification of the tiger skin confiscated during a raid. The ZSI scientist based on morphological evidence cleared that it was not a tiger skin but rather a dog skin.Basudev Tripathi, scientist and officer in charge, ZSI, Pune said, “In recent cases, our verification process highlighted that dog skin was used as tiger or leopard skin in illegal wildlife trade cases. The morphological evidence was clearly shown the same. However, since the ZSI is dealing with wild animals, we did not pursue the cases further to identify which dog breed was involved in such illegal skin trade. The work is mainly being done by veterinary department officials.” Forest officials also confirmed that the counterfeit skin trade has been on the rise in recent years and even categorised as organised crime since there is involvement of many people in the illegal trade. Deepak Pawar, assistant conservator of forest, Pune Forest Department said, “In last five years, fake skin or such articles were found in most of the seizure cases conducted by us. Although the investigations are still going on in many cases, the probe revealed the involvement of people from Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.”Aditya Paranjape, honorary wildlife warden, Pune Forest Department said, “The use of cattle is common in counterfeiting wild animal skin. The main reason is that the animal skin can be purchased easily from the slaughterhouses. Another important element of such cases is that in the case of legal action, there will be no implications under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972, which has strict punishment. In the case of fake animal skin, only fraudulent charges are being implemented, which are relatively of less intensity. In counterfeit skin cases, involvement of international racket has also been highlighted earlier, and the connection mainly goes to Dubai as the demand for such fur skin is higher in the carpet market in Dubai.”The crime branch unit of the Pune city police on Saturday arrested two individuals from Chakan and detained one person from Nagpur for making calls to students offering them Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam papers at a cost of ₹40 lakh. https://www.hindustantimes.com/cities/pune-news/mpsc-exam-paper-sale-for-40-lakh-two-held-from-chakan-101738436100850.html
  16. If you caught a glimpse of this SUV in a crowded parking lot, would you be able to tell it's a Nissan Murano? Hell, would you be able to recognize it as a Nissan at all? For a company so otherwise, um, preoccupied with its current corporate situation, Nissan still does one thing very right: Design. The new Murano is no exception. Even though it uses a version of last year's platform, the 2025 Nissan Murano still feels brand new. It has a beautifully redesigned exterior, an equally appealing interior with the latest tech, and a new turbocharged engine that makes it all feel a bit more modern—finally.Granted, not everyone will love the new Murano's looks; the split headlight treatment alone is sure to split opinions. But much like the smaller Kicks, the Murano turns heads with its unique shape and bold design choices—that aforementioned front end included. And it all looks really beautiful in this shade of Aurora Blue. The cabin is no less pretty. The Twilight Blue leather on this Platinum tester virtually mimics the paint. Subtle wood accents line the dash with a few pieces of piano black plastic that, thankfully, aren't all that offensive. Two 12.3-inch screens sit atop the dash projecting Nissan's latest infotainment interface, which is clean, crisp, and easy to use. I didn't experience any of the lag Editor Chris Smith noted during his first drive. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are always welcomed. Unfortunately, like many modern automakers, Nissan was bitten by the touch-capacitive bug. The Murano's lovely-looking wooden console takes a page from the Ariya; it's littered with illuminated touch-capacitive controls for the HVAC system. A simple task like changing the temperature or increasing the fan speed requires a steady hand and lots of focus. Not exactly what you want when you should be, you know, focused on driving. The steering wheel controls are… better, but still not great. Instead of individual buttons, the Murano has a single piece of black plastic covering individual selections on either side of the wheel. It clicks well, at least—it's not more touch-capacitive nonsense. But it was easy to hit the wrong option by mistake. The Murano's turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 241 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It actually has less power than the old V-6 (260 horsepower), but more torque (240 pound-feet). The new engine also returns 23 miles per gallon city, 24 highway, and 23 combined, which, again, isn't much better than the old V-6. The previous Murano achieved 20 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined. In practice, though, the Murano's new powertrain feels much better on the road. Snappy throttle response gives the SUV excellent pep off the line—it feels genuinely quick in Sport mode. The four-cylinder has enough power at speed for seamless highway passes and uneventful onramp merges, and it's all paired to a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic. https://www.motor1.com/reviews/749123/2025-nissan-murano-review/
  17. Galle [Sri Lanka], February 2 (ANI): Following his side's loss to Australia in the first Test at Galle, Sri Lankan coach Sanath Jayasuriya expressed disappointment with his team's shot selection and their inability to convert promising starts into big scores. Australia delivered a strong all-round performance, filled with record-breaking efforts from Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon to defeat Sri Lanka by an innings and 242 runs to retain the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.Following the match, Jayasuriya said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo, "There was a serious problem with shot selections, as well as with handling situations. I do not think certain players have handled situations well. They are experienced players, and they have to be more mature."The former all-rounder also remarked that the team has played a lot of cricket and "should know how to play". "I have talked to them about this. But we have got to talk to them in detail about this now. Also, we cannot blame the wicket. Because we saw how the wicket behaved. This was a very good wicket. For a long time, we have not seen such a good wicket in Galle, on the third and fourth days," he added.A crucial issue was Sri Lankan players not being able to convert their starts into big scores. During the first innings of Australia, six batters played 50 balls or more. But in Sri Lanka's innings, only Dinesh Chandimal played more than 50. In the second innings, Chandimal, Angelo Matthews, Kamindu Mendis and Kusal Mendis got off to solid starts but failed to hold down the fort for their team. Jayasuriya called for more consistency in converting starts into something impactful. "The biggest problem is the batters who are taking a start but are not going to play a long innings. This is something I always mutter. We saw Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith and Josh Inglis, all three of them took a good start and they converted them to big hundreds. This conversion must be there. We are not consistent in that. Our players should know that these are our conditions and we must make use of these conditions. There were lots of opportunities but we did not make use of them," the coach said.Coming to the match, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. 18. According to digital creator Ted Carr, it is apparently possible to bank on papaya and mangoes to build muscle. We were as surprised to hear this as you might be! To understand whether mango and papaya can indeed be a good alternative to protein for building muscle, indianexpress.com spoke to a holistic nutrition expert. “Let’s get this straight– when it comes to muscle building, protein is the MVP (Most Valuable Player). It’s like the bricks and mortar of muscle construction. So, can mango and papaya substitute protein? My answer is, not quite,” shared Isha Lall, Holistic Nutritionist & Ayurvedic Wellness Coach.Papaya is rich in Vit A & C and also has anti-inflammatory effects. She said that all of this is helpful for muscle repair, reducing inflammation and speeding up recovery time.According to Lall, mangoes are rich in carbohydrates. “While carbs aren’t protein, they provide the necessary energy for your workouts. Think of carbs as the fuel in your car – without it, you’re not going anywhere,” she explained. Packed with vitamins A and C, she shared that mangoes aid in muscle repair and recovery. Vitamin C, in particular, is an antioxidant that reduces muscle soreness. She added that as per Ayurveda, both these fruits are Sattvic foods, which means that they are energy boosting foods and not draining when consumed in moderation. “Protein is needed for muscle synthesis and keeping you fuller for longer, aiding in weight management. While protein is irreplaceable, mango and papaya can be just fantastic additions to a balanced diet. They provide energy, aid digestion, and help with muscle recovery,” said Lall.Lall suggested having 1 cup (about 150-160 grams) per serving of mangoes and 1 cup (about 140-150 grams) per serving of papaya around 3-4 times a week.Balance is Key: Mangoes and papayas are great, but they can’t replace protein. Include them as part of a balanced diet with sufficient protein sources. https://indianexpress.com/article/lifestyle/health/can-papaya-mangoes-help-build-muscle-9468311/
