Most brands in the consumer audio space have turned their focus to the true wireless (TWS) form factor, but some such as Sony continue to offer worthwhile over-ear headphones. Sony's approach is fortunately not limited to just premium and flagship products; the company maintains a decent range of over-ear headphones across price segments, and with decent features. The latest is the Sony WH-CH720N over-ear headphones, which is a new-generation product in a fairly adept and well-positioned lineup. Priced at Rs. 9,990 in India, the Sony WH-CH720N is the successor to the WH-CH710N, which was launched back in 2020, at the same price. It follows a largely similar approach to its predecessor, with active noise cancellation, optional wired connectivity, and a promise of excellent battery life. The over-ear form factor also comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages over the more po[CENSORED]r TWS form factor, which I'll talk about in detail in this review. Sony WH-CH720N design and features The Sony WH-CH720N looks a fair bit different from its predecessor thanks to sharper and more defined edges all around. You can visibly tell that the WH-CH720N is a mid-range headset; it isn't quite as polished and refined to look at as even the slightly more expensive Sony WH-XB910N. That said, it isn't bad looking headphone by any means, and has a proper over-ear fit that completely covers you ears. The ear cups also offer a proper noise-isolating seal to help the active noise cancellation. Another key change is the very distinct microphone grille near the top of each ear cup, suggesting that the WH-CH720 has better and more appropriately positioned microphones for both ANC and voice functionality. Although the padding on the Sony WH-CH720N isn't quite as lush and premium-feeling as on more expensive over-ear headphones, its comfortable enough, particularly when you also consider that the headset is quite light at 192g, thanks to its plastic build. The ear cups swivel completely flat in one direction for storage, and a fair bit the other way as well, to adjust to the shape of your head and ears. The headband has a telescopic adjustment mechanism, but unfortunately doesn't allow the headset to fold in completely for easier storage. The power button is on the left side, while the controls for playback, volume, and ANC/ Ambient Sound mode are on the right side. Also on the left side is the USB Type-C port for charging, and the 3.5mm socket for wired connectivity. The sales package includes a charging cable (USB Type-A to Type-C) and a stereo cable for wired connectivity. Sony WH-CH720N app and specifications As is usually the case with Sony headphones, the WH-CH720N uses the Sony Headphones Connect app to handle basic customisation and functionality settings, as well as firmware updates. The app is available for both iOS and Android, and offers the same familiar experience that you get on just about any other Sony headset. Of course, the app sets itself up for the specific headset in use, so you'll only see the relevant controls and settings for the WH-CH720N in this case. Expectedly, the controls are fixed and can't be customised as is the case with many true wireless headsets, but this is fine as there are dedicated buttons for most functions on the headset. https://www.gadgets360.com/audio/reviews/sony-wh-ch720n-review-price-in-india-anc-wireless-headphones-4021534

The ASUS ROG Ally handheld is also a great device to emulate games on thanks to its AMD Ryzen Z1 APUs with AVX-512 support. Emulators For Older PS3 Games Love The AMD Ryzen Z1 APU's AVX-512 Support on ASUS ROG Ally Handheld The ASUS ROG Ally was introduced a few days ago for a starting price of just $599 US for the base Ryzen Z1 variant and $699 US for the Ryzen Z1 Extreme variant. Housing the AMD Ryzen Z1 APUs, one huge advantage that the handheld offers is support for AVX-512 instructions which offer great performance across various emulators including RPCS3. We saw a teaser of emulation performance on AMD's Phoenix APUs by The Phawx but ETA Prime is the first to provide emulation benchmarks on the ASUS ROG Ally handheld and things are looking really great. Starting with the Dolphin Emulator, you will be ready and set with the 9W TDP mode & get a solid 60 FPS at 1080p across all titles. The same goes for PS2/PCSX2 emulator which runs great at 1080p (15W mode) running several games at 60 FPS. For the PSP emulator, you will be able to run any of the compatible titles such as God of War Chains of Olympus at 1080p / 60 FPS with a 7W TDP. That is going to deliver some awesome battery times while playing the game. The 3DS Citra Emulator was a hard run on AMD APUs due to the emulator using an OpenGL back-end but with new AMD drivers and OpenGL-specific optimizations, you can either do 1080p@60 at 13W or the native resolution of the 3DS at just 7W. https://wccftech.com/asus-rog-ally-delivers-great-emulation-performance-avx-512-amd-ryzen-z1-apus-60-fps-god-of-war-3-1080p/

It is never too late to get excited about F1 and return to it in a new installment. Alonso has returned, but all that remains is for F1 23 to go on the market to feel the adrenaline of driving a single-seater again. Codemasters recently released a trailer for F1 23 announcing the release date and the return of story mode. However, today's new gameplay presents some of the most interesting news. As can be seen in the gameplay above, both the handling and the physics have improved compared to previous years, that is, now you will notice superior maneuverability, low-speed traction and better overall handling of the car. This means that the most veterans will realize that the behavior of the vehicles is more natural thanks to three variables: acceleration, braking and cornering, as explained in a press release. Another of the most outstanding features is that the physical calculations of tire slip and its interaction with the inertia of the car have been updated. This is perfectly complemented by the fact that the track surfaces will be more pronounced. All of these changes have been made possible thanks to feedback from real drivers and various teams. https://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/f1-23/noticias/f1-23-estrena-nuevo-gameplay-que-revela-todas-novedades-mejoras-que-podemos-esperar-esta-entrega

The "completely unique," wolf-like Tasmanian tigers that thrived on the island of Tasmania before they went extinct in 1936 may have survived in the wilderness for far longer than previously thought, research suggests. There is also a small possibility they are still alive today, experts say. Tasmanian tigers, also known as thylacines (Thylacinus cynocephalus) were carnivorous marsupials with distinctive stripes on their lower back. The species was originally found across Australia but disappeared from the mainland roughly 3,000 years ago due to human persecution. It persisted on the island of Tasmania until a government bounty introduced by the first European settlers in the 1880s destroyed the po[CENSORED]tion and drove the species to extinction. "The thylacine was completely unique among living marsupials," said Andrew Pask(opens in new tab), a professor of epigenetics at the University of Melbourne in Australia who was not involved in the new research. "Not only did it have its iconic wolf-like appearance, but it was also our only marsupial apex predator. Apex predators form extremely important parts of the food chain and are often responsible for stabilizing ecosystems," Pask told Live Science in an email. The last known thylacine died in captivity at the Hobart Zoo in Tasmania on Sept. 7, 1936. It is one of the few animal species for which an exact date of extinction is known, according to the Thylacine Integrated Genomic Restoration Research (TIGRR) Lab(opens in new tab), which is led by Pask and aims to bring Tasmanian tigers back from the dead. But now, scientists say thylacines probably survived in the wild until the 1980s, with a "small chance" they could still be hiding somewhere today. In a study published March 18 in the journal Science of The Total Environment(opens in new tab), researchers pored over 1,237 reported thylacine sightings in Tasmania from 1910 onwards. The team estimated the reliability of these reports and where thylacines could have persisted after 1936. "We used a novel approach to map the geographical pattern of its decline across Tasmania, and to estimate its extinction date after taking account of the many uncertainties," Barry Brook(opens in new tab), a professor of environmental sustainability at the University of Tasmania and lead author of the study, told The Australian(opens in new tab). Thylacines may have survived in remote areas until the late 1980s or 1990s, with the earliest date for extinction in the mid-1950s, the researchers suggest. The scientists posit that a few Tasmanian tigers could still be holed up in the state's southwestern wilderness. But others are skeptical. "There is no evidence to confirm any of the sightings," Pask said. "One thing that's so interesting about the thylacine is how it evolved to look so much like a wolf and so different to other marsupials. Because of this, it is very hard to tell the difference at distance between a thylacine and [a] dog and this is likely why we still continue to have so many sightings despite never finding a dead animal or unequivocal picture." If thylacines had survived long in the wild, someone would have come across a dead animal, Pask said. Nevertheless, "it would be possible at this time [in 1936] that some animals persisted in the wild," Pask said. "If there were survivors, there were very few." While some people search for surviving Tasmanian tigers, Pask and his colleagues want to revive the species. "Because the thylacine is a recent extinction event, we have good samples and DNA of sufficient quality to do this thoroughly," Pask said. "The thylacine was also a human-driven extinction, not a natural one, and importantly, the ecosystem in which it lived still exists, giving a place to go back to." https://www.livescience.com/animals/extinct-species/long-extinct-tasmanian-tiger-may-still-be-alive-and-prowling-the-wilderness-scientists-claim

JLR (formerly Jaguar Land Rover) will continue to prioritise production of its most profitable models until at least mid-2023, maintaining limited output of its more affordable cars while component supply continues to be restricted. Outlining its full-year sales and earnings figures today, JLR hailed the success of the latest Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Defender as the driver of its vastly improved revenues and reduced losses in 2022, and it confirmed that the trio account for more than three-quarters of its 200,000 unfulfilled customer orders. This backlog, together with their higher profitability compared with other cars in the line-up, means production of the top-rung cars continues to be the priority while semiconductor supply remains constrained, and full-scale production of the Jaguar XE, Jaguar XF, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque will not return for several months. Asked by Autocar for a production update on these more affordable model lines, CEO Adrian Mardell said: "We're three shifts in two areas [Solihull and Nitra], and we're on single shift at the other production facilities [Halewood and Castle Bromwich] and that will continue over the first six months of the year. "We're not stimulating orders for those other products yet, until we can get confidence of supply. The order rates we are receiving at Halewood and Graz [where the Jaguar E-Pace is built by Magna] are consistent with the build that we can actually produce today, so we're very balanced, and those orders have stayed pretty consistent over the last months." JLR's break-even point is 300,000 cars per year – a target it met in 2022 – and Mardell said that, currently, at least a third of these need to be MLA-based (Range Rover or Defender) to meet profitability targets. The more affordable Land Rover models do have a future, with Halewood being converted to build an electric Velar, Evoque and Discovery Sport from late 2024, though "whether we eliminate some of the lower-value derivatives, we will decide as we go forward". Mardell is confident of chip supply continuing to ease over the coming months and into 2024, following a tangible improvement in the first four months of 2023 - "not as much as we'd wish for, actually, but significantly higher". But he noted that other production obstacles relating to tooling breakdowns and other pressure-related stoppages are likely to occur "most weeks over the next six to nine months". https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/jlr-limits-production-cheaper-jaguar-and-land-rover-cars

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse says "slipping standards" at the club have brought about Saints' relegation from the Premier League. Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Fulham ended Saints' 11-year stay in the top flight with two games still to play. The loss was their 24th this term - the most in a season in the club's history. "From the first day of pre-season until right now you can tell the standards at the club have slipped," Ward-Prowse, 28, told BBC Sport. Go straight to all the best Southampton content Selles - Saints 'will bounce back with or without me' "We need to go away individually and as a club and assess if we've done everything we possibly could. I don't think we have and that is a shame." Saints sacked long-serving manager Ralph Hasenhuttl in November and his successor Nathan Jones lasted just three months into a three-year deal before Selles was installed until the end of the season. "I think as a team and a club overall we'll think about the season that has gone by," Ward-Prowse added. "Have decisions been right? Have we done everything we could on the pitch? I think we should perform at a better level than we have done." The England midfielder is confident the club will learn lessons to bounce back but said he was "not thinking too far ahead" about his own future at St Mary's, with summer interest in his services almost inevitable. "I have been here right through from eight years old, I've seen the journey that the club has been on, all the ups and downs, the good times and the bad - and this is a bad time," he added. "But I'm sure with the good people at the club it will be back in the Premier League in no time. It will be a testing time for everybody but the club has done it before and I'm sure it will do it again." 'Saints might need a big clear-out' However, Ward-Prowse admitted relegation had "been coming" during a challenging campaign and BBC Sport pundits Martin Keown and Anita Asante worry how difficult it will be for Saints to rebound. "You look at teams that have come back from the Championship and they have a core. What is the core of this Southampton side? Is Ward-Prowse going to stay? "It's going to be difficult. There are so many games in the Championship and it will be Southampton's toughest ever season. "They will need to bounce back quickly while the parachute payments are there." Ex-England defender Asante felt the Saints were not just paying the price for poor decisions this season but over a broader recent history. "This has been a long time coming and not just this season alone - it has been two seasons of poor transfer windows," she added. Southampton were taken over by Sport Republic in January 2022 and the company on behalf of investors Dragan Solak, Rasmus Ankersen and Henrik Kraft after relegation was confirmed. "We want to reassure our supporters, our partners and our staff that we remain fully committed to achieving long-term success for the club at the top level," it said. "We must now reflect on the lessons to be learned from this season and start preparing for the challenges ahead of us in the Championship. "Our goal is to return to the Premier League as soon as possible and ensure that we stay there. "We understand that significant improvement is required, and at the end of the season we will announce our immediate next steps and provide details of how the club will operate moving forward." 'If somebody is responsible, it is me' - Selles Saints won two of interim boss Ruben Selles' first three games after he took charge in February but have followed that up with eight defeats in an 11-game winless run that has consigned them to the second tier. They were in relegation trouble long before he took over, however, having been in the bottom three since November, when Hasenhuttl was sacked and replaced by Selles' predecessor Jones. But the Spaniard, who briefly lifted Saints off the foot of the table in March with victory over Leicester, rejected any notion that the damage was done before his reign began. "I will not make that excuse - when I took over I was convinced I could get this team out of relegation and I didn't make it, and I am the first one who is responsible for this run," he told Match of the Day. "From the beginning I thought we can do it - so if somebody is responsible for the last three months, it's me." Southampton have lost at least seven times under each of their three different managers in the league - eight in 14 matches under Hasenhuttl, seven in Jones' eight-game spell and nine defeats in 14 with Selles. "There is not only one reason - one of the things that we didn't find during the season was enough togetherness, enough trust in each other," Selles added. "It's not only about one player or one coach, it's about relationships between us." Like Ward-Prowse, Selles' future at the club is unclear but he insisted: "This club has quality enough to bounce back immediately, with or without me." https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/65585199

Heavy fighting between warring parties has continued in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and other cities ahead of the ceasefire talks on Sunday. Residents say the Sudanese army has pounded civilian areas, while the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has occupied civilian properties. Clashes were reported in Khartoum, neighbouring Omdurman and Geneina in the Darfur region. War between the country's army and the RSF started nearly a month ago. One resident Hani Ahmed, 28, said it was worse in the morning compared with the past two days. "You could clearly hear the tanks and the RSF were patrolling the streets more than usual," he added. "We only see the army in the sky, but in terms of face-to-face contact, we only see the RSF. They're the ones on the ground," Mr Ahmed said. Hundreds have been killed and nearly 200,000 have fled their homes for neighbouring states. An estimated 700,000 have been displaced inside the country. Widespread looting, as well as the withdrawal of international aid organisations, has led to severe shortages of food and medicine. Displaced people living in a large camp in north Darfur have cut down to a single meal a day. Medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) warned that conditions for children were likely to deteriorate. The warring factions signed a "declaration of commitment" on Thursday, after a week of talks mediated by hosts Saudi Arabia and the US. The ceasefire talks between representatives of the warring sides will resume in Jeddah on Sunday. But on Friday, at least 77 people were killed in Geneina, where fighting flared after a two-week lull, said the Darfur Bar Association, a local rights group. The group added that armed groups on motorcycles and RSF vehicles were continuing to commit acts of killing, looting, arson and terror. In Khartoum, art curator Duaa Tariq, 30, said his area was under RSF control. "They loot and harass people and wander around, always armed, taking shelter wherever they want." Sudan's civil aviation authority said Sudanese airspace would remain closed to all traffic until 31 May, but "humanitarian aid and evacuation flights" would remain unaffected. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-65582425

The Mac mini is Apple's most affordable computer, and it has found uses not only in homes and schools, but also in embedded applications such as kiosks, and even as servers. It might not have the visual wow factor of an iMac or the portability of a MacBook, but it's the only Mac many people can afford. Apple has now updated it with its latest M2-generation processors, and for the first time, you have a choice between the standard M2 and the more powerful M2 Pro. The starting price has been reduced a little with this generation, and interestingly since Apple hasn't yet released a Mac Pro with Apple Silicon, this miniature desktop can reportedly outperform its now-outdated yet far more expensive sibling by large margins in multiple kinds of tests. While a new Mac Pro is likely just around the corner and the Mac Studio is also an option, it's well worth reading our review to see whether the Mac mini will meet all your needs. I also have a shiny new Apple Studio Display and a suite of accessories to use with the Mac mini, and I'll tell you what they are like as well. Apple Mac mini (M2 Pro, 2023) price in India The new Mac mini is priced at $599 onwards in the US, which is $100 less than the previous generation's starting price. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, the difference in India isn't quite as substantial, but Rs. 59,900 is still better than Rs. 64,900 which was the starting price of the M1 Mac mini from 2020. At this price, you get the M2 SoC with eight CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, plus 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The M2 Pro-based variants give you either 10 CPU cores with 16 GPU cores for Rs. 1,29,900, or 12 CPU cores with 19 GPU cores for Rs. 1,59,900. All Mac minis can be configured with optional Gigabit Ethernet for an additional Rs. 10,000. You also get four Thunderbolt 4 ports on M2 Pro configurations, versus two if you choose an M2 CPU. One big downside to Apple Silicon-based Macs is that the RAM is part of the SoC, and storage is soldered to the motherboard, making upgrades impossible. If you want better specs, you have to choose them at the time of purchase, and upgrades are still illogically expensive. Going from 8GB to 16GB of RAM will cost Rs. 20,000. There's now a 24GB option priced at Rs. 40,000 over and above the base price for the M2 versions, and strangely, it costs the same to go from 16GB to 32GB on the M2 Pro option. It will cost you Rs. 20,000 more to get a 512GB SSD instead of 256GB; 1TB will cost Rs. 40,000 more and the 2TB option will raise the price by an astronomical Rs. 80,000 – many times more than what retail SSDs of those capacities usually sell for. Keep in mind that Apple uses slightly slower SSDs for its base 256GB configurations; a fact that isn't explicitly stated on the spec sheet. All this means it's possible to spend Rs. 4,49,900 if you max out all the specifications – and that's without a monitor, keyboard or mouse. You get nothing in the box other than the Mac mini itself, a power cord, a few leaflets, and the customary Apple logo sticker. The version tested here has an M2 Pro SoC, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, bringing its price to Rs. 1,79,900. The 27-inch Apple Studio Display that I have with me for this review will cost another Rs. 1,59,900. You you can choose a “nano-texture” matte panel finish for Rs. 30,000 more and swap the basic stand for a height-adjustable one for an additional Rs. 40,000. To complete the look, Apple's Magic Mouse costs Rs. 9,500, the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad is a whopping Rs. 19,500, and the Magic Trackpad is another Rs. 14,500. https://www.gadgets360.com/laptops/reviews/mac-mini-m2-pro-2023-review-price-in-india-apple-studio-display-performance-4021680#pfrom=indepth

Introduction and specs The F5 and the F5 Pro are almost identical in size and core features, but upon closer look at the specs sheet, we start to see how they differ in some niche aspects. Still, both phones are aimed towards the budget-conscious crowd, with the F5 Pro acting as an affordable flagship. The subject of this review, however, is the vanilla Poco F5 and it's important to note that the F5 carries a different name in some markets - Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo. The latter was released back in March, so you can use this review as a reference if you are deciding on buying the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, as we doubt we'd get hold of a review unit for that one any time soon./p> The handset offers a few notable upgrades over its predecessor while maintaining the same price point (the F4 launched for €400). It's a great choice if you are looking for a capable midranger with some upper-tier features on the side. Xiaomi Poco F5 specs at a glance: Body: 161.1x75.0x7.9mm, 181g; Gorilla Glas 5 front, plastic back and frame; IP53, dust and splash resistant. Display: 6.67" AMOLED, 68B colors, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 120Hz, 500 nits (typ), 1000 nits (peak), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 395ppi. Chipset: Qualcomm SM7475-AB Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 (4 nm): Octa-core (1x2.91 GHz Cortex-A710 & 3x2.49 GHz Cortex-A710 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A510); Adreno 725. Memory: 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM; UFS 3.1. OS/Software: Android 13, MIUI 14 for POCO. Rear camera: Wide (main): 64 MP, f/1.8, 1/2", 0.7µm, PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 8 MP, f/2.2, 120˚, 1/4", 1.12µm; Macro: 2 MP, f/2.4. Front camera: 16 MP, f/2.5, (wide). Video capture: Rear camera: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps, gyro-EIS; Front camera: 1080p@30/60fps. Battery: 5000mAh; 67W wired, PD3, QC4, 100% in 46 min (advertised). Connectivity: 5G; Dual SIM; Wi-Fi 6; BT 5.3; NFC; Infrared port; 3.5mm jack. Misc: Fingerprint reader (side-mounted); stereo speakers. The standard F5 runs on a brand new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, which hopefully isn't just a rebranded Snapdragon 778G yet again. The handset also features a familiar 6.67-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and high maximum brightness as its more expensive sibling but at a lower resolution. The camera setups of both devices are identical, and the battery capacity is rated at around 5,000 mAh with support for blazing-fast 67W fast charging. The only difference is that the F5 Pro adds wireless charging to its list of features. It seems like no matter which device you decide to get, the user experience won't vary by much. But if wireless charging and a more future-proof SoC, such as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, are up on your priority list, the few extra bucks for the F5 Pro might be worth it. Still, we believe that the F5 will get you 90% of where you want to be, making it presumably the better deal of the two. Unboxing the Xiaomi Poco F5 The handset comes in a standard retail box containing all the usual user manuals, the appropriate 67W fast charger and a USB-A to USB-C cable for data transfer and charging. There's also a transparent silicone case as a bonus, so it doesn't conceal the neat paint job. https://www.gsmarena.com/poco_f5-review-2568.php

There are very few companies in the automated cleaning space that continue to grow and improve at the speed of ECOVACS. The company is a trailblazer in the industry, daring to offer features that consumers dream about. ECOVACS is introducing its latest DEEBOT N10 in the UK market with a focus on efficient cleaning. Featuring ultra-high suction power of 4300Pa and an all-new fan motor design that uses glass fiber material to optimize energy and high-pressure durability, ECOVACS N10 offers a deeper cleaning that can handle even dried-on dirt or muddy footprints with ease. Uncompromising cleaning with ECOVACS DEEBOT N10 Usually, we need to run the smart vacuum for vacuuming and then separately for mopping. This isn't only time- but also energy-consuming. With N10, you can vacuum and mop in one go with its powerful 4300Pa suction and OZMO Mopping System. The 4300Pa suction power is strong enough to even dig out dirt and pet hair hiding in your floorboard cracks and carpets. The improved design combines a main brush for hard floors and a rubber brush for carpets and hairy messes. The OZMO Mopping System is paired with a 240mL electronically controlled water tank along with consistent mop pressure that ensures the mop isn't just dragging along but is actually deeply cleaning. The machine is a beast at deep cleaning when you choose the Deep Mopping mode, as it can then do an intensive row-by-row cleaning that significantly improves mopping performance. Intelligent carpet detection with an ultrasonic carpet sensor intelligently avoids carpets during mopping, saving you from any accidents. More features in the spotlight TrueMapping Precise Navigation with dToF (direct time of flight) laser scanning: aerospace-standard detection technology that can create maps powering a suite of useful features. Clean liquid messes without any hassle! Multi-Level Mapping: DEEBOT can automatically recognize and save different levels of your home. Customize Your Cleaning: Create custom cleaning preferences (times/suction power/room), sequence, and schedules for each room. Smart Cleaning: automatically partitions rooms and customizes cleaning mode to match your preferences for different room and floor types. Virtual Boundaries: You can Keep your robot away from areas you don’t want it to go by setting No-Go Zones. Cut running time in half because N10 can simultaneously vacuum and mop. Optional rubber brush can powerfully agitate carpets to release more dirt and dust into the vacuum stream. EA and Codemasters have shared their F1 23 gameplay features deep dive featuring Sky Sports F1 presenter Natalie Pinkham highlighting the updated vehicle handling, physics, new tracks, the return of red flags and much more. The team also introduces their new Precision Drive controller technology offering an overhauled experience for players without a steering wheel controller. The new 35% race distance which debuted in F1 Esports allows players to race shorter options with the same rules applied to full races, like mandatory pit stops. F1 23 will also feature the return of red flags creating more on-the-fly strategy scenarios on the way to the pits. A red flag may be activated due to multiplayer racing incidents caused by other drivers, offline mode AI, or severe wet weather conditions. Similarly to the actual sport, you can modify your race plan, change tires, and fix some car damage prior to the race resuming. Moreover, you have the option to customize the red flag’s sensitivity in the menu to meet your preferences. https://www.operationsports.com/f1-23-gameplay-video-blog-handling-physics-new-tracks-red-flags-and-more/

Rishi Sunak is "disappointed" Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not been allowed to address this year's Eurovision, his spokesman says. The organisers, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), say it would breach its political impartiality. But Downing Street said it would be "fitting" for Mr Zelensky to speak given Russia's invasion of his country. Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer is also calling for the Ukrainian leader to be allowed to make a speech. Ukraine was meant to be hosting this year's Eurovision after winning it last year, but it is taking place in Liverpool instead after Russia's invasion. It has been reported that Mr Zelensky wanted to make a video appearance at the contest's final on Saturday, to an expected global audience of 160 million. When is the Eurovision 2023 final and who is in it? Russia banned from 2022 Eurovision Song Contest Zelensky: We must wait before starting offensive But in a statement on Thursday, the EBU said it had turned down a request from the Ukrainian president to address the event, despite his "laudable intentions". "The Eurovision Song Contest is an international entertainment show, and governed by strict rules and principles," it added. "As part of these, one of the cornerstones of the contest is the non-political nature of the event. This principle prohibits the possibility of making political or similar statements as part of the contest." BBC Director General Tim Davie said he understood the EBU's decision and that throughout its history, Eurovision "has not been a platform for political statement". But he stressed the BBC was hosting on behalf of Ukraine and that it is "a celebration across Europe for freedom, for democracy". 'Values and freedoms' The EBU said that a Ukrainian design agency had been involved in designing artwork for the event, and 11 Ukrainian artists, including last year's winners Kalush Orchestra, would be performing. However, Mr Sunak's spokesman questioned the decision not to have Mr Zelensky speak, saying: "The values and freedoms that President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine are fighting for are not political, they're fundamental." His spokesman argued that Eurovision "themselves recognised that last year" by banning Russian artists from participating. However, he added that the prime minister had no plans to intervene and ask broadcasters to change their mind. Ukraine's ambassador to the UK, Vadym Prystaiko, said the final of the contest would have been a "great moment" for Mr Zelensky to address a huge audience. But speaking to PA Media, he added: "We understand all the internal politics and the unbiased sort of approach to all this, that's why we don't have to push too much." In statement, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said: "It's vital that we all continue to keep the plight of the Ukrainian people front of mind as they stand up to Russian aggression on behalf of us all. "Eurovision is an expression of international unity and freedom, and President Zelensky should be able to address it as a great defender of both." Russia ban The EBU initially said it would allow Russia to participate in the 2022 final, following its invasion of Ukraine two months before it was due to be held in Italy. But it then changed course within 24 hours, saying that allowing Russia to take part would "bring the competition into disrepute". UA:PBC, Ukraine's public broadcaster, as well as those from Iceland, Finland, Norway and the Netherlands, had called for Russia to be banned. Boris Johnson, who was British prime minister during Russia's invasion and oversaw the UK's initial response, said "it would have been right to hear" from him during the final on Saturday. Formed in 1950, the EBU has 68 broadcasting organisations as members, including the BBC - which is hosting this week's finals and semi-finals. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-65574033
