Info : Google confirmed it has temporarily disabled for Ukraine some Google Maps tools which provide live information about traffic conditions and how busy different places are. Alphabet's Google confirmed on Sunday it has temporarily disabled for Ukraine some Google Maps tools which provide live information about traffic conditions and how busy different places are. The company said it had taken the action of globally disabling the Google Maps traffic layer and live information on how busy places like stores and restaurants are in Ukraine for the safety of local communities in the country, after consulting with sources including regional authorities. Ukraine is facing attacks from Russian forces who invaded the country on Thursday. As missiles fell on Ukrainian cities, nearly 400,000 civilians, mainly women and children, have fled into neighbouring countries. Russia calls its actions in Ukraine a "special operation". Ads by Big tech companies including Google have said they are taking new measures to protect users' security in the region. Online services and social media sites have also been tapped by researchers piecing together activity around the war. A professor at California's Middlebury Institute of International Studies said Google Maps helped him track a "traffic jam" that was actually Russian movement towards the border hours before Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the attack. Google said live traffic information remained available to drivers using its turn-by-turn navigation features in the area.

Windows 11 has been changed so that it now presents a more visible warning, using a watermark on the desktop to caution those running the OS on an unsupported PC that the device doesn’t meet its system requirements – although this move is only in testing right now. It follows a previous tweak whereby Microsoft placed a cautionary ‘system requirements not met’ message within System Settings, again only in preview builds of Windows 11, but the watermark – which appears above the system tray (where the clock is, bottom-right) – is a far heavier-handed warning. Again, it states ‘system requirements not met’, but its permanent presence as a desktop watermark, in the same vein as the Windows warning that the OS isn’t activated, is a definite eyesore and a more annoying introduction. Windows Latest spotted this, and further observes that Microsoft is currently testing the new watermark with some Windows 11 users running preview builds, and gauging reaction. So, while this may not necessarily make the cut for the release version of Windows 11, it could well do in theory. Given this, and the addition of the previous minor warning under Settings, we can guess that Microsoft’s intention is to go further down the road of taking action against Windows 11 being run on unsupported machines. Analysis: Unsupported PCs effectively on borrowed time? The long and short of this latest move is that those running Windows 11 on a PC which doesn’t meet the system requirements are seemingly on borrowed time. When the previous warning was introduced in settings, we recall some commentators saying ‘at least it’s not a desktop watermark or something horrible like that’. Well, now it is a permanent watermark, in test builds anyway. We’ve said all along that Microsoft has maintained that when it comes to unsupported PCs, Windows 11 updates won’t be delivered, and even though they are still piped through to these systems now, eventually it seems very likely they won’t be. This potential shift up a gear with warnings is another indication that Microsoft will actually cut support for updates perhaps sooner rather than later, so anyone running Windows 11 on an unsupported device needs to begin rethinking their operating system strategy. Microsoft has always maintained that using Windows 11 on a PC that doesn’t meet its requirements could cause ‘damage’ to the machine. And really, the only reason there are loopholes to get the new OS on such devices is to allow folks to give Windows 11 a run out and test to see if they like it, presumably with the hope that if this is the case, they will upgrade whatever elements are necessary to fully support the operating system. At any rate, it’s very much starting to look like the day when updates are cut-off completely may not be all that far away.

Finding the suitable input module is often a critical part of Raspberry Pi project design. Whether you’re using buttons, switches, or potentiometers, a nice input module can give your project the professional finish it needs. Today we’re sharing a helpful project from Vernon with NerdCave, demonstrating how easy it is to use the Raspberry Pi Pico to accept and use input from a joystick module. Vernon describes NerdCave as a channel dedicated to microelectronics projects with a focus on content for the general maker community and educators. This project is shared as a demonstration and as a tutorial for makers to follow along. In the video, Vernon breaks down how to connect a joystick module to the Raspberry Pi Pico and program it to respond from a series of LEDs. It’s easily adaptable as user input for various projects, including things like game controllers, drone/robot controllers, or even just as general input for menu navigation. To recreate this project, makers will need a Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller. If you want to tinker, a breadboard would be ideal for recycling the later-project components. It requires an analog joystick module, LEDs, resistors, and jumper wires. The Pico is programmed using MicroPython to check if the user is tilting the joystick in a particular direction or pressing it as a button. In the demonstration, the LEDs illuminate, corresponding with the joystick direction. Overall the project is simple to construct–or at least Vernon’s explanation makes it seem that way. To get a closer look at how it all goes together, check out the tutorial video shared on YouTube on the official NerdCave channel. You can also explore the source code for the demo over at Vernon’s GitHub page. As far as Raspberry Pi projects go, this is great for beginners who are new to microelectronics or even more experienced makers looking to experiment with the Pico microcontroller. There’s plenty of Pi to go around; read through our list of best Raspberry Pi projects to see what else the community is up to and maybe even find a project to recreate yourself.

Elden Ring had severe stuttering issues at launch on PC, some of which have since been alleviated, though performance problems still persist. FromSoftware has called for patience as the studio irons out some of the game's more egregious issues, but if you're lucky enough to own a Steam Deck, Valve itself is on the case. Valve programmer Pierre-Loup Griffais confirmed on Twitter today that the company is working on fixes for Elden Ring's heavy stutter on Steam Deck. "The graphics team has been hard at work on optimizing Elden Ring for Steam Deck," Griffais wrote. "Fixes for heavy stutter during background streaming of assets will be available in a Proton release next week, but are available to test now on the bleeding-edge branch of Experimental. Griffais shows how to access that branch in the video embedded below, but here's those instructions in old-fashioned text format. Search for Proton Experimental in the Steam Deck store, then select settings (the cog icon). Scroll to Properties, then Betas, and then select "bleeding-edge - latest and untested dxvk, vkd3d-proton and wine changes. Good news for Steam Deck owners. For everyone else, Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco has listed some of its main priorities for fixing the RPG on PC, including mouse sensitivity, "the phenomenon of frame rate and other performance-related issues" and a weird bug with Easy Anti-Cheat that doesn't play nice with certain Steam account names. Steam Deck finally released last week, and Wes likes it, likening it to a Leatherman, among other things. "The Steam Deck is bulky for a handheld, but makes up for it with unrivaled versatility and a killer price.

Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister on Friday urged Apple top boss Tim Cook to cut supply of its products and block access to App Store in Russia. Mykhailo Fedorov, who is also Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, tweeted a copy of the letter sent to Cook asking the iPhone maker to "stop supplying Apple services and products to the Russian Federation, including blocking access to App Store." Apple did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Russian President Vladimir Putin started a three-pronged invasion of Ukraine from the north, east, and south on Thursday, in an attack that threatened to upend Europe's post-Cold War order. "In 2022, modern technology is perhaps the best answer to the tanks, multiple rocket launchers (hrad) and missiles," Fedorov said. Ads by "I am deeply concerned with the situation in Ukraine. We're doing all we can for our teams...and will be supporting local humanitarian efforts," Cook had tweeted on Thursday. Fedorov also voiced support for US sanctions on Russia. On Thursday, US President Joe Biden announced sweeping sanctions against Russia, cutting off major Russian banks and hammering access to global exports of goods from commercial electronics and computers to semiconductors and aircraft parts.

Reddit has released an update to its mobile app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices that adds a Discover tab, allowing you to find new content and subreddits that you've not come across before, similar to TikTok's 'For You' tab. The platform is a place of many communities that can apply to many franchises, products, and brands. Its users, or Redditors as the company calls them, usually subscribe to these, which are called subreddits. But across the site and the app, you would usually find new categories and topics by the algorithm showcasing trending content on the main page, or by searching for something manually. However, Reddit is aware that there are better ways for its Redditors to discover new content thanks to this update, available for iOS and Android. Analysis: About time, Reddit It can be difficult to find new content on Reddit, compared to other social media apps such as TikTok and Instagram. While the website had a design refresh 2018, it didn't go far enough when making it clear how you could navigate subreddits, or being accessible for new users. With its app for iOS and Android, Reddit feels much better to navigate thanks to its different design compared to the website. But Apollo, a third-party app does the same function with an even better interface. The new Discover feature is going to help close the gap for Reddit against Apollo here, but the next step should be how this can work for its website, which arguably still houses a design that's from the late nineties. If it can attempt another redesign of its site that makes it easier to navigate to new users, alongside making existing content look more appealing, Reddit may appeal to an even bigger userbase than it has now. In a sign that the United States government's export restrictions on semiconductor sales to Russia due to its war against Ukraine have been enacted swiftly, multiple reports have emerged today that both Intel and AMD have suspended chip sales to Russia. In addition, reports have also emerged that TSMC's decision to participate in the sanctions will thwart Russia's supply of homegrown chips. We have reached out to Intel, AMD, and Nvidia for comment. The Russian media outlets also claim that the suspensions have been confirmed by the Association of Russian Developers and Electronics Manufacturers (ARPE). Additionally, Chinese IT companies are said to have been notified by Intel that sales to Russia have been banned. The extent of the halted sales is currently unclear. The new export restrictions are primarily aimed at chips for military purposes or dual-use chips that could be used for both civilian and military purposes. That means sales of most consumer-focused chips, like AMD's Ryzen and Intel's Core chips, likely won't be impacted. However, it is widely expected that there will be a temporary halt for all semiconductor sales to Russia as companies work to decide which products are impacted. Additionally, the US DoC has added 49 Russian companies to the Entity List, and those companies aren't eligible to purchase any type of chip. The new US export restrictions are akin to the sanctions leveled at Huawei, but they apply to an entire country — a first. Russia has prepared for years to deal with potential sanctions, especially in the wake of the international sanctions in 2014 after its actions in Crimea, by both promoting its own indigenous semiconductor production and also stockpiling chips for just such an occurrence. However, Russia's domestically-designed chips from companies like Baikal, MCST, Yadro, and STC Module are actually manufactured by Taiwan-based TSMC, which has agreed to also suspend sales to the country to comply with the new export restrictions. That means Russia's supply of homegrown chips is also cut off. While companies like Intel and AMD are reportedly suspending sales immediately, that won't have an immediate devastating impact on the industry. According to the Semiconductor Industry Association, the Russian government accounts for less than 0.1% of global chip purchases, while the broader Russian market represents roughly $50.3 billion out of the $4.47 trillion global semiconductor market. Instead, the impact is expected to be felt when supercomputers, networking, military chips, and the like fail or need upgrades. In those cases, Russia would be forced to acquire the chips illicitly. We've reached out to Intel, AMD, and Nvidia for comment and will update as necessary.

There’s a handy feature in Elden Ring that helps guide players down a suggested critical path with beams of light shooting out of checkpoints. If you're new to Souls games, following that path is a lot safer than what my friend did. You see, my friend started wandering around carefree as soon as he was allowed to, opened up a random treasure chest, and then ended up in hell. Mild Elden Ring spoilers ahead: This is a fun discovery to make on your own, but it's also a punishing area to arrive in immediately. Read on if you'd like to avoid it. Seriously, there's a treasure chest just minutes away from Elden Ring's starting area that will literally kidnap you and take you somewhere else. Once you're there, you can't fast travel back to the comfort of Limgrave until you've fought (or ran) through a particularly nasty little cave. I decided to poke the bear and check it out myself, but I wasn't prepared for how freaking mean the enemies are here. Where to find the trapped chest If you're wondering where this troublesome chest is waiting for you, it's a spot called the Dragon-Burnt Ruins. It sits just west of the first Limgrave site of grace submerged in some gross ankle-deep water. The ruins themselves are deceptively simple. The only enemies you'll find here are pushover zombies with torches, a few feisty dogs, and dumb rats. It presents itself as such an easy win that it feels like a tutorial for Elden Ring's many hidden dungeons. Nestled at the bottom of some stairs, past a rat-filled room, is your "prize" chest. Open it and a cloud of smoke engulfs your body, revealing itself as a "transporter trap". Then you end up in a wild cave called the Sellia Crystal Tunnel. I'll skip details, but know that you'll be immediately accosted by a bunch of rocky jerks at once. You can't fast travel away until you've left this cave, so you're gonna have to fight, run, or sneak (though stealth will probably only hold for a minute). The problem with fighting is that most of the enemies are resistant to blades as far as I can tell—slashes from my samurai katana kept bouncing off until I switched to two-handed mode. If you head downhill, you won't have to go too far to find a site of grace. From there, you can step outside the cave to be greeted with a fresh hell that only FromSoftware could have thought up called Caelid. It kinda looks like an underwater reef, but evil. Once you've seen it, you're finally allowed to enter your map and fast travel away. Considering how much trouble those rocky guys gave me, I think I'll avoid this Bloodorne-looking dimension until my samurai's a bit stronger. This is basically how I've tackled From games since Dark Souls 2, but Elden Ring's sandbox map makes it a bit easier to accidentally end up somewhere I probably shouldn't be. That's why it's nice that I can usually travel to any bonfir–ahem, site of grace I've been to at any time. Booby-trapped chests aren't the only way to screw yourself over early in Elden Ring. There's also an NPC that you should definitely meet early on or miss out on an important combat tool.

Microsoft has released a software preview for Windows 11 that will make using the operating system on tablet devices, and 2-in-1 laptops, much better. As DigitalTrends reports, Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22563, which has just been released to people signed up to receive early versions of Windows 11 to test, optimizes the taskbar on tablets and 2-in-1 devices. In the new update, the taskbar now has two states: a collapsed and expanded mode. When the taskbar is collapsed, it appears much thinner, giving you more screen real estate and helping to prevent accidental presses of taskbar buttons. Meanwhile, the expanded mode makes the taskbar wider, allowing you to select items more easily, such as apps, using the touch screen. Switching between the two modes looks pretty easy as well, and is done by simply swiping your finger up or down at the bottom of the tablet’s screen where the taskbar resides. It seems that this version of the taskbar will only be available on Windows 11 tablets and 2-in-1 laptops, which have touchscreens that either detach from the keyboard, or can be folded back, and used as a tablet. Desktop PCs and traditional laptops won’t get this new taskbar. As it’s currently in a Preview Build, it also means that regular Windows 11 users won’t see it just yet. However, if testing goes well and there’s a positive reaction from Windows Insiders, we could see the feature appear in a Windows 11 update sometime in the future. Analysis: Microsoft’s tablet ambitions remain This new update shows that Microsoft’s tablet ambitions remain undeterred. While its rivals Apple and Google have found immense success with tablet devices, Microsoft has yet to do the same. Its attempts to take on the mighty iPad and gain tablet market share have been a mixed bag. There was the deeply unpo[CENSORED]r Windows 8, which dropped much of the classic interface of Windows, including the taskbar and Start menu, for an interface with large icons that was aimed at tablet use. The problem was, Windows 8 tablets were largely ignored, and desktop and laptop users hated having to put up with an interface that was designed for touchscreens they didn’t have. Microsoft found more success with its Surface Pro line of 2-in-1 devices, alongside Windows 10, which struck a more even balance with an interface that was better suited to traditional PCs, while also having a tablet mode. However, Surface Pro sales still lag behind iPad and Android tablet sales, but it seems Microsoft isn’t giving up. If Windows 11 continues to evolve to work even better on tablet devices, then this could be Microsoft’s best bet yet to take on Apple and Google.

Jonsbo may not be a household name in the world of coolers, but the company has just introduced what could be the highest-performing low-profile solution for Intel's 12th generation Alder Lake processors. The device is designed for small form-factor (SFF) PCs and can dissipate up to 140W of power, which is enough to handle Intel's Core i9-12900K. Jonsbo's miniature HP400S cooler is just 36 mm high (as discovered by TechPowerUp), yet it has 40 thin aluminum fins, four 6-mm heat pipes, and a 90-mm PWM fan that spins at 800 ~ 3000 RPM ± 10% to generate an airflow of up to 48.3 CFM and wind pressure of up to 3.24mm H2O. Fan noise can reach up to 33 dBA, which may not be the most comfortable level for an SFF desktop. However, due to high airflow, this cooler can cool down CPUs with an up to 140W TDP/PBP (processor base power). The design of the HP400S from Jonsbo is tailored to offer the maximum performance possible in such a small form factor. For example, Noctua's low-profile NH-L9i-17xx (which is 37 mm tall) only has two heat pipes, a fan that spins at up to 2500 RPM and generates airflow of up to 33.9 CFM. Noctua typically does not publish TDP/PBP ratings, but the NH-L9i-17xx has an NSPR rating of 59, indicating entry-level performance. While a 140W rating does not guarantee that the Core i9-12900K will operate at its turbo clocks for a long time (i.e., it will not offer the same performance as higher-performance coolers), it should not overheat even in a very compact PC. Low-profile PCs and low-profile coolers typically are not designed for high-performance CPUs. However, the recent trend towards miniaturization calls for hardware developers to develop components that accommodate flagship CPUs in tiny mini-ITX or mini-STX chassis. In addition to LGA1700 CPUs, Jonsbo's HP400S is compatible with AMD's processors in AM4 packaging as well as Intel's CPUs in LGA115x and LGA1200 form-factors. The pricing of the cooler is currently unknown.

X-Men's most star-crossed lovers, the card-slinging Gambit and the white-haired Rogue, have joined the Fortnite universe as the latest item shop skins. The pair are also joined by a bevy of new X-Men-themed cosmetics. It's a little late for Valentine's Day, but we don't mind when love (and explosive cards) are in the air. Below, we've got a guide to all the cosmetics included with Gambit and Rogue and how to get them. Gambit's classic trenchcoat and facemask are on full display, but he's also got some classic X-Men trinkets to bring onto the battlefield. LeBeau's Bo Pickaxe: For the unfamiliar, Gambit's real name is Remy Etienne LeBeau, and one of his most iconic tools is his telescoping staff. Handy for dealing damage and the occasional dance number. Kinetic Cards back bling: Of course, it wouldn't be Gambit without exploding playing cards, and this fiery back bling lets you flaunt the mutant power without worrying about blowing yourself up. Suit Surfer glider: One of Fortnite's rare gliders that you can actually surf on, it's basically a giant fiery card. Deal 'Em Out emote (seen below) Rogue's Fortnite cosmetics For movie fans, Rogue might be one of the most familiar X-Men. Originally played by Anna Paquin in 2000's X-Men, Rogue's a bit of a tragic tale, what with her mutant power to sap the lifeforce and powers from anyone she meets. Fortunately, in the decades since her introduction, she's figured out how to manage her powers and make a physical connection with her husband Gambit. Now she's beating up dudes in Fortnite. Here's what's included with Rogue. Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters back bling: A big green X on your back might make you a bigger target, but at least you'll look cool while being shot at. Holo X-Axe: A new pickaxe that's one part energy sword and other part X-Men branding. Blackbird glider: Easily the star of the cosmetics show, you can finally swoop in on the X-Jet. Hands Off emote (seen above) Gambit and Rogue should stay in the Fortnite item shop for a couple of days, but they've already been in there for a little while, so don't wait if you're absolutely dying to play as one of the superhero lovebirds. You can buy Rogue and Gambit as a bundle for 2,100 V-bucks, but be warned that Epic has split up the cosmetics a bit unusually this time. If you want to get any of the pickaxes or gliders, you'll have to buy those separately or in a different bundle. When you're done with the mutants, check out our Fortnite guides page for more info on the newest skins and challenge walkthroughs.

This week Intel introduced its Xeon D-1700/2700-series CPUs that offer up to 20 cores, AI and crypto acceleration, built-in Ethernet, and enhanced reliability. Intel's Xeon D-series processors are meant for servers that power the connected devices and services we use daily and combine serious performance with rich connectivity. Intel's new-generation Xeon D 'Ice Lake-D' system-on-chip family for infrastructure and edge servers consists of two separate product lines: the Xeon D 1700-series featuring from 2 to 10 cores and up to 15MB of cache as well as the Xeon D 2700-series offering from 4 to 20 cores and up to 30MB of cache. The CPUs feature two or four DDR4 channels supporting 256 GB to 1 TB memory; 16, 32, or 64 PCIe 4.0 lanes, 24 SATA ports and up to 100GbE of Ethernet throughput capability. The TDP of the new SoCs varies from 25W to 129W. In total, there will be 36 SKUs in the Xeon D-1700/2700 lineup. As a part of the Ice Lake family of processors, the new server-grade SoCs are powered by Intel's Sunny Cove microarchitecture and support the company's latest instruction set enhancements (e.g., AVX512VNNI for accelerating inner convolutional neural network loops used for AI/inference workloads), special-purpose accelerators (e.g., hardware-accelerated SHA encryption), and features (total memory encryption, SGX oversubscription instructions). While Intel's Xeon D 1700/2700-series processors do not offer extreme core counts or vast pools of memory supported that are required for performance-demanding workloads like running databases and other demanding applications, these SoCs provide enough performance for things like AI inferencing and edge servers; enterprise routers and switches; Virtualized radio access networks (vRAN); storage servers; and security appliances. While edge servers are largely an emerging application, other kinds of devices are seamlessly used by billions of people every day without even knowing it. "These processors power solutions that will infuse your network and edge with the computing, Ethernet connectivity, and security to handle the coming wave of demand at the edge," wrote Jennifer Panhorst, a vice presideent at Intel's data platforms group, in a blog post. "The Intel Xeon D-1700 and D-2700 family of processors enable scalability of software investment and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) with a durable, intelligent infrastructure." Intel says that over 70 companies plan to design servers around its Xeon D-1700 and Xeon D-2700 processors, including including Cisco, Juniper Networks and Rakuten Symphony.

Elden Ring is now just a few hours away—in fact, if you've pre-purchased it on PC, you can (and probably should) preload it now, so you can make with the hacking and the slashing as soon as the game is officially live. First, though, you'll want to apply the day one patch, which FromSoftware detailed earlier today. "We have started distributing a patch to improve the stability of the gameplay," the studio said in the patch notes on Steam. "We apologize for the inconvenience, but please apply the latest patch before playing the game." After the patch is applied, you'll see "App Ver. 1.02 - Regulation Ver. 1.02.1" in the bottom-right corner of the title screen, indicating that it's been properly applied. As for what it fixes, the patch notes on Steam are a bit vague: Improved player controls Addition and adjustment of BGM Text adjustments Balance adjustments NPC event fixes and adjustments Fixed frame rate drops under certain conditions Fixed text bug in some languages Raytracing support will not be implemented in the day one patch—the timing on that "will be revealed in future announcements." Also note that the patch will not be rolled into the game download at launch: You will have to download all 13 GB of it and apply it after installing the game. The big question, which unfortunately is not addressed in the patch notes, is whether it will address reports of significant stuttering during gameplay. "Over time, it tends to intermittently stutter and slow down for brief moments, especially as you're out in the open world," we said in our own review. "I never died to a hiccup in performance, but it made me pause and restart the game fairly often to fix the issue." Publisher Bandai Namco has previously said that the launch day patch will fix the problem, but unfortunately our testing with the 1.02 patch indicates that while the situation is improved, some issues still persist. Hopefully FromSoftware will have that problem fully taken care of soon. Elden Ring goes live at 3 pm PT/6 pm ET tonight. For global timings, be sure to check out the full unlock schedule.

Infinix Zero 5G will get an update to Android 12 later this year, a brand executive announced on Wednesday. The Infinix phone was launched in India last week as the brand's first model to come with 5G connectivity. The smartphone comes with Android 11 with proprietary XOS 10 on top. The Infinix Zero 5G specifications include a 120Hz display, triple rear cameras, and 33W fast charging support. The phone also includes dual stereo speakers and comes with 8GB of RAM. The India CEO of Infinix Anish Kapoor announced through a tweet that the Infinix Zero 5G will receive the Android 12 update in August. Normally, Infinix does not reveal its Android update roadmaps publicly. The brand is also not known for bringing speedy software updates. The Zero 5G is, however, an exception as Infinix seems to attract customers through the new model that debuted as its first 5G phone. Unlike Infinix, vendors including Vivo and Realme have started bringing Android 12 out-of-the-box on their new smartphones in the market. Companies such as OnePlus and Samsung have also started releasing the latest Android update for their models. Infinix Zero 5G price in India The Infinix Zero 5G comes with a price tag of Rs. 19,999 for the sole 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone features Cosmic Black and Skylight Orange colours and is available through Flipkart. Infinix Zero 5G specifications The dual-SIM (Nano) Infinix Zero 5G comes with a 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,460 pixels) IPS LTPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, along with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. There is the triple rear camera setup that houses a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens. Further, the Infinix Zero 5G comes with a 16-megapixel selfie camera. In terms of storage, the Infinix Zero 5G comes with 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage that supports expansion of up to 256GB via a microSD card. The phone comes with a series of connectivity options, including 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5, and a USB Type-C port. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

As part of Microsoft’s attempts to get people to upgrade to Windows 11, the company claimed that one of the benefits of the new operating would be faster Windows Updates – but many users are complaining that those promised speed increases have failed to materialize. As an article in WindowsReport explains, many users have found that Windows 11 updates are still taking too long despite Microsoft's claims, and are publicly complaining on sites such as Reddit. In our own experience of using Windows 11, we’ve not noticed updates downloading or installing any faster, and along with these user complaints, it seems like Microsoft may have overstated the improvements to Windows update speeds. Analysis: Come on, Microsoft There’s a lot to like about the new operating system – check out our Windows 11 review to see what we think – but Microsoft also has its work cut out to convince people to upgrade. The promise of faster updates was certainly alluring – no one likes to sit around waiting while their PC installs an update, but Microsoft also needs to be careful about over-hyping improvements. If it talks about faster update speeds, then Microsoft needs to deliver noticeable improvements. If many users feel like they aren’t getting what they were promised, they won’t be happy – and they’ll make their unhappiness known in public. The good news is that this is still early days for Windows 11 (even though we’ve already begun hearing rumors about Windows 12), so we expect Microsoft to continue updating and improving the operating system. That means we could see those promised update speeds coming later, or at least current speeds improving. It seems like having Windows 11 installed on modern technology, such as NVMe SSDs, helps speed up the update process as well. But, Microsoft needs to ensure that it doesn’t over promise and under deliver, no matter what hardware people are using. If it does, then Windows 11’s reputation could suffer serious damage. Here's how to download and install Windows 11.

According to a new report by Jon Peddie Research, Q4 2021 sales of CPUs with integrated graphics were down 15% year-over-year. By contrast, sales of discrete graphics boards for desktops increased during the fourth quarter. The industry shipped approximately 101 million discrete and integrated GPUs for PCs in Q4 2021*, which is an increase of around 0.8% sequentially (this essentially means flat), but a decrease of 15% year-over-year. By contrast, sales of standalone graphics cards for desktop PCs (such as those featured in the best graphics cards for gaming) reached around 13 million units in the fourth quarter of 2021, a 3% growth sequentially and an 18% surge from the same quarter in 2020.
