The Mexican horror series Diablero won’t be returning for a Season 3 at Netflix, What’s on Netflix has learned. Produced by Morena Films and created by Pablo Tébar and José Manuel Cravioto, the horror series from Mexico first debuted on our Netflix subscriptions back in 2018. Eight episodes were ordered for the first season. Then, around 18 months later, we saw the second season of the show land on Netflix around the world on January 31st, 2020. Now, two years later after the season 2 premiere, we’ve never had anything regarding the future of the show. A few spam blogs speculated we would get a new season in 2021 but that never came to pass. We’ve now heard from sources close to the production that there’s no chance the show will be returning in the future. Of course, the writing was on the wall anyway given the length of time between season 2 releasing and now. Don’t let that put you off checking out the series, however, although there are a few loose ends to the story according to El Comercio, the series does wrap up nicely enough to warrant a watch from start to finish. The two season series is about a group of superhero-esque figures teaming up to battle evil. The series has effectively been ghost-canceled which is something we’ve seen increasingly in the last few years. This essentially means that Netflix shows get canceled behind the scenes with cast and crew released to do other projects but either then don’t or aren’t able to talk about the cancelation of the show to the public. President Joe Biden signed a bill into law on Tuesday that makes lynching a federal hate crime, acknowledging how racial violence has left a lasting scar on the nation and asserting that these crimes are not a relic of a bygone era. At a White House Rose Garden signing ceremony, the President didn't hold back in describing the history of racial violence experienced by Black Americans and its continued impact. He said, "Lynching was pure terror to enforce the lie that not everyone ... belongs in America, not everyone is created equal. Terror, to systematically undermine hard-fought civil rights. Terror, not just in the dark of the night but in broad daylight. Innocent men, women and children hung by nooses in trees, bodies burned and drowned and castrated." "Their crimes? Trying to vote. Trying to go to school. Trying to own a business or preach the gospel. False accusations of murder, arson and robbery. Simply being Black," he continued. The bill Biden signed into law, the Emmett Till Antilynching Act of 2022, is named after a 14-year-old Black boy from Chicago who was brutally murdered by a group of White men in Mississippi for allegedly whistling at a White woman in 1955. His murder sparked national outrage and was a catalyst for the emerging civil rights movement. Lynching was a terror tactic used against Black Americans, particularly in the racially segregated South. According to Tuskegee University, which collects records on lynchings, 4,743 people were lynched from 1882 to 1968 and 3,446 of them were Black Reflecting on the "unwritten rules" of behavior Till's mother passed onto her son, the President said, "That same admonition -- too many Black parents still have to use that. They have to tell their children that when it comes to encounters with law enforcement." Biden said the new law "isn't just about the past," pointing to the murder of a 25-year-old Black man who was on a jog and a 2017 Virginia rally of White supremacists and White nationalists where a counterprotester was killed and scores were injured. "From the bullets in the back of Ahmaud Arbery to countless other acts of violence, countless victims known and unknown, the same racial hatred that drove the mob to hang a noose brought that mob carrying torches out of the fields of Charlottesville just a few years ago -- racial hate isn't an old problem. It's a persistent problem," he emphasized. Advocates have been trying to pass federal anti-lynching legislation for more than a century. Rep. Bobby Rush of Illinois, who introduced the bill signed into law on Tuesday, also introduced a similar version of his current bill in 2019. The following year, the House passed that bill but Sen. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said at the time that Congress had tried and failed more than 200 times to outlaw lynching and that the new legislation was "long overdue." Rush, who attended the White House ceremony, said in a statement that he was "elated" to see the bill signed into law, adding, "I am so proud that we have come together -- in a bipartisan fashion -- to enact a law that will ensure lynchings are always punished as the barbaric crimes they are." Till's cousin, the Rev. Wheeler Parker Jr., said in a statement: "My cousin was a bright, promising 14-year-old from Chicago. My family was devastated that no one was held responsible for the abduction, torture and murder of Emmett. But we are heartened by this new law, which shows that Emmett still speaks in powerful ways to make sure that no one can get away with a racist crime like this ever again." A polar bear born at the Highland Wildlife Park near Aviemore has been named Brodie. The cub was born in December and his sex was confirmed during a health check last month. Brodie's older brother Hamish was born at the same park in 2017, and was the first polar bear cub to be born in the UK in 25 years. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) held a competition to find a name for the new cub. Brodie shares an enclosure with his mother. The site has been closed off to park visitors. The competition raised more than £70,000 for the park. Victoria gave birth to Hamish in December 2017. He was po[CENSORED]r with visitors to the park, at Kincraig near Aviemore, and could often be seen playing with empty barrels in a pond in an enclosure he shared with Victoria. Federal election regulators fined Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee earlier this month for not properly disclosing the money they spent on controversial opposition research that led to the infamous Trump-Russia dossier. The DNC was fined $105,000 and the Clinton campaign was fined $8,000, according to a letter sent by the Federal Election Commission to a conservative group that requested an inquiry. Political candidates and groups are required to publicly disclose their spending to the FEC, and they must explain the purpose of any specific expenditure more than $200. The FEC concluded that the Clinton campaign and DNC misreported the money that funded the dossier, masking it as "legal services" and "legal and compliance consulting" instead of opposition research. The dossier was compiled by retired British spy Christopher Steele. It contained unverified and salacious allegations about Donald Trump, including claims that his campaign colluded with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election. Trump's campaign had numerous contacts with Russian agents, and embraced Russian help, but no one was ever formally accused of conspiring with Russia. The money trail behind the Steele dossier has been a subject of intense political scrutiny for years. More than $1 million flowed from the Clinton campaign and DNC to the law firm Perkins Coie, which then hired the opposition research company Fusion GPS. That company later hired Steele and asked him to use his overseas contacts to dig up dirt about Trump's ties to Russia. Steele has maintained that his research was unverified, required further investigation and was not meant for public disclosure. But his memos were leaked in January 2017, weeks before Trump took office. Over the years, a series of investigations and lawsuits have discredited many of Steele's central allegations about collusion and exposed the unreliability of Steele's sourcing. In the letter announcing the fines, the FEC also revealed that it dismissed related complaints against Steele, Perkins Coie and Fusion GPS, which have all previously denied wrongdoing. Realme 8 update comes with UI version RMX3085_11.C.06. Realme 8 is getting a stable version of the Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 update in India. The update comes with UI version RMX3085_11.C.06 and brings a bunch of new features such as options for customisation, sketchpad always-on display (AOD), fluid space design, quick launch feature among others. The latest update also includes new privacy and security features and it optimises system performance and stability. The update is being rolled out in a phased manner. At the same time, Realme 8i is getting early access to Realme UI 3.0 in India. The company will be rolling out the beta software of the new operating system to a select number of users. An official post on the Realme forum details the changelog that comes with the Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 update for the Realme 8 smartphone. AI-powered smart copy and paste coming your way, perhaps Windows 11 looks like it could offer some smart new tricks with copying and pasting in the future, including intelligently determining what you’re cutting or copying, then offering to open a relevant app to paste into. Windows Latest uncovered clues pertaining to a Smart Clipboard and Smart Actions after digging around in the latest preview builds of Windows 11 and finding a number of experimental flags for these features. Those flags refer to a ‘Smart Clipboard UX’ and ‘Smart Install App Recommendation’ among other bits of functionality, with Windows Latest theorizing that this Smart Clipboard would have a different keyboard shortcut – and be separate to the current Clipboard – and would allow users to directly transfer rich content straight into apps. As an example, say you copied an email address. In this case, Smart Clipboard would immediately suggest to directly paste this into Outlook (opening the app, and placing the copied address in a blank message). Depending on what you’re cutting or copying, different apps could be recommended as a destination, and the whole system would be powered by AI, meaning that Windows 11 should learn the tasks you commonly perform, and become more accurate with its suggestions as time goes on. Analysis: Revamping even the most basic computing tasks Cutting or copying and pasting is such a basic task, it’s something that’s doubtless pretty much hardwired into your daily computing activities – an action you perform without even thinking about it. And while you wouldn’t imagine there’s much you can do with such a basic piece of functionality, it’s good to see that Microsoft is thinking about innovating in these kinds of spaces – the core nuts-and-bolts of the Windows 11 experience. A sensible spec and plenty of RGB make this a deal worth grabbing. Nvidia may have just released the last card of the Ampere generation with the RTX 3090 Ti, but it's the RTX 3060 that still stands out as one of the best options of this generation. Don't worry, though; in real terms, there isn't a lot separating any of them, at least not when it comes to raw performance—some are cooler, some are quieter, but when it comes to gaming, there are only a few frames per second in it. Taking a tabbed moment A test build of Windows 11 has a rather cool hidden feature which allows tabs to be enabled in File Explorer to have multiple windows in one, similar to a web browser. File Explorer has recently seen its biggest change in appearance by ditching the Ribbon interface for a more simple toolbar layout, alongside a refreshed appearance for its windows and folders. But, managing our workflows on our PCs has become more important than ever. If you've got multiple File Explorer windows open at once, it can be a hassle to manage them, which is why this hidden feature of tabbed windows could go a long way to helping out so many users. However, macOS users have been reaping the benefits of this for years, and it makes us wonder why Microsoft has been late to the pass for tabs in File Explorer. Users in macOS have been able to use tabs in Finder, Apple's File Explorer equivalent, since 2013, with the arrival of 10.9 Mavericks. The process is the same as a web browser; you hold ALT / Command and when you click on a link, a new tab will appear. It's very useful for when you're managing files across multiple folders without having to plaster your display with Finder windows. But in 2022 with Windows 11, this is still occurring, and it finally looks as though Microsoft is listening to this piece of feedback. Those 600W+ TDP rumours are looking more and more likely. The launch of Nvidia’s next gen Lovelace GPUs draws nearer, and that means it’s leak season! A purported approximation of the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 Founders Edition PCB has hit the web, and it gives us a lot to ponder. The first thing to consider is the VRM phase count. With no less than 24 phases for what is likely a standard Founders Edition card, it’s clear that talk of very high TDPs for high end RTX 40 cards is accurate. The leak comes via Igor’s Lab. The PCB overview indicates that the card includes space for 12 GDDR6X memory chips. This would indicate that the RTX 4090 will include 24GB of VRAM while the RTX 4080 will include 12GB, likely over a 384-bit bus. That’s the same as what’s available now. Igor's Lab believes that the GA102 and next gen AD102 GPUs are pin-to-pin compatible. This means that manufacturers can re-use their current high end designs and that upcoming RTX 3090 Ti PCBs will likely carry over to RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 class cards. The 3090 Ti is also set to introduce the PCIe 5.0 power connector. If we assume the rumoured 450W+ TDP of the 3090 Ti is accurate, then it can be considered something of a test run before the main RTX 40 event. Lovelace GPUs are set to be manufactured on TSMC's 4N fabrication process which is tweaked specifically for Nvidia. Despite the significantly smaller node, those rumours of 600W or even higher TDPs just won’t go away. Bear in mind we’re talking about the enthusiast class cards here, where power consumption is typically secondary to performance. We hope that the mid range and entry level cards will end up a lot more power thrifty. Imagine the hassles system integrators will face if they have to accommodate a 300W entry to mid level GPU. All of this information is subject to change. We’re still many months away from the launch of the RTX 40 Lovelace cards. Nvidia still has time to fine tune the PCB design, clocks and power consumption of the GPU. Whatever final form the Founders Edition card takes, it’s clear the cards will be power hungry and hot. Partner cards will be even more so. Let’s hope they offer the performance to justify it. Before the launch of RTX 40 cards, there’s Intel’s Alchemist cards to come. Can love bloom on the battlefield? As previously reported, I've become a no-good rotten invader. And in the weeks since I first took up the bloody fingers, I haven't slowed down, defending my underground lair with absolute fury. But lately, my invasions have gotten a little strange—and I'm not talking about those madness-vomiting mech suits. For context, here's how an invasion tends to pan out. You arrive, uninvited, into the world of a pair of strangers (we'll ignore the Taunter's Tongue for now), ready to wreck their entire day. If you're lucky, you might end up baiting them into a dignified, honourable series of 1v1s. If you're unlucky, a Hunter will be summoned in to turn the invasion into a stacked 3v1. Regardless, you arrive with intent to cause violence and violence is what usually results. But it's not always the result. See, Elden Ring's toolbox might include all manner of axes, greatswords and murderous spells, but it also contains far stranger, funner toys that, when deployed carefully, can turn even the most embittered foe into a newfound companion. Invasions are inherently a hostile act, but players have tools to determine the actual nature of an engagement through gestures, prattles, mimic veils and other assorted toys. So sure, while most invasions immediately turn bloody, sometimes I'll be summoned in to find my targets are all disguised as trees. Proper etiquette in a duel is to bow before combat, but there are also gestures for sitting down or dancing. Even beyond gestures, the act of spamming crouch is universal across games as a sign of friendship. In Nokstella, where I frequently hunt, these friendlier invasions were a welcome rarity. I'd guess maybe one in 20 hunts resulted in me and my targets just hanging out—either finding them using Mimic Veils to shimmy about as sentient crates or using my own friendly gestures to encourage pacifism. Then, we'd simply vibe together, and I'd often follow them further down the Ainsel River like a stray cat. I can't help them kill monsters, but it's frequently just a joy to observe how other players explore and interact with the world. On one magical evening, the Hunter summoned to kill me arrived to find us dancing around a glowstone campfire, and joined us in raising our arms in rapture. The next hour can only be described as the closest Elden Ring has ever come to feeling like a rave, dropping multicoloured lights as we danced and screamed and spun under a subterranean night sky. Sellsword Eventually I would leave the depths, and take my hunts to the wide open snowfields of the Mountaintops of the Giants. Here, things only got weirder, and rather than straight-up invasions I'd frequently stumble into pre-made fight clubs, geared up warriors luring multiple hunters in at once for intense 2v2 brawls. These fight clubs have always been a part of the Souls PVP 'endgame', not least because they get around the problem of the host dying and everyone being sent back to their worlds (keep the host out of the fights, and everyone can watch a load of duels). This adopted etiquette means you occasionally see a clueless invader come in and go straight for the host, at which point half-a-dozen players fall on them with force and fury. It was here that I learnt another important aspect of invasions. When a player uses Taunter's Tongue, they can potentially summon two invaders into their world. More importantly, those invaders can attack and kill each other. So when I invaded one world in the middle of a fight between an existing invader and two co-op pals stuck on top of a rock pillar, I decided to have a go at playing mercenary. After fending off the first invader and celebrating with a small dance party atop that pillar, we ventured forth into the snowfields in search of new opponents. When a fresh invader arrived, ready for a 2v2, I'd turn around and tilt the odds in the defender's favour, even if that meant taking great care to avoid hitting my new friends with my sword's absurdly wide swings. Now, you might be asking, what's the point of invading if you're not going to invade? And it's true that in doing this I'm forfeiting the more traditional rewards for invasions, Rune Arcs and a cut of the Runes held by targets I kill. But here's the best bit—after every felled invader, we'd cheer and they'd drop me a reward for my troubles. Rune rewards, in truly ludicrous numbers. By the end of the night I reckon they'd given me a whopping 300,000 in total—that's two entire levels! And y'know what? I reckon we all won. I've written before about the joys of recontextualising gaming battlefields as hang-out spots. Elden Ring isn't quite as saccharine as Splatoon 2, but it still offers all the tools you need to push against the violent framework of invasions, to communicate a far friendlier intent. Elden Ring, like Dark Souls before it, is a game about overcoming great difficulty. Chrome is hitting a century In the mid-2000s, Google was known for announcing joke software for April Fools Day that we all knew wouldn't ever be made. So, when its new web browser, Google Chrome first arrived in September 2008, users had thought that the company had delayed the joke by a few months. However, since its arrival, Chrome has seen many changes and revamps, to the point where it's the most-used web browser in the world. It's now also been made available on smartphones and tablets, further changing how we browse the web. Google is now about to launch version 100, and as it's close to April 1, we wouldn't be surprised if there's a major new feature or two coming to the update, perhaps as a hint to its April Fool gags of yore, or to tie in with Google Mail's launch, which actually launched on April 1 2004. With this in mind, we tracked down version 1.0 of Google Chrome and tried it in Windows 11 to see how it handles modern websites... or if it is even usable. Using Google Chrome 1.0 in 2022 The internet of 2008 was very different compared to what we use in 2022. It was a year when Apple's App Store launched alongside the iPhone 3G, and we were all still trying to get used to browsing the web on our smartphones. Trying to play a 4K video on YouTube back then would have been an impossible task, and streaming Banjo Kazooie on Game Pass through Chrome would have been as likely as seeing Mario come to the Steam Deck in a sequel to Half Life. After finding version 1.0.154 of Chrome, released on December 11 2008, we installed it and saw the familiar layout of the web browser, but in a shade of light blue that seemed to be a constant presence in these early versions. Tabs were still relatively new at the time, with Mozilla's Firefox, and Apple's Safari having had the feature for only a few years at the time. But, it defined Chrome, encouraging you to press the '+' button to open multiple tabs for the sites you wanted to visit. But this is where the troubles began for us. As the above screenshots show, loading up our Apple Studio review brought up the text, but it was the only aspect we could decipher. Chrome 1.0 couldn't render the photos or any sections correctly. Some would load up, but they would be stretched to the point that they would be pixelated. We thought we'd go to YouTube to see how this would fare, and not only did it show the mobile version, but nothing was displaying correctly anyway; only YouTube's logo. There were other times when we would visit other sites, and we would receive a pop-up saying 'You're using an old version, please upgrade your browser.' Ignoring this would try to display the website in question regardless, but none of them worked. Ironically, searching for trees in Google was the one website that did show correctly, albeit in its mobile version. Looking around Chrome 1.0.154's features, it's as barebones as you would expect for a web browser that was officially two months old at the time. There's a Preferences section, but nothing in the way of themes and web extensions that today's web browsers offer. The idea of doing some work in this version of Chrome through Google Docs or Apple's Pages is impossible - this was an era of the internet where you'd be browsing the web to be rid of boredom or to find the answer to something. While it was a short-lived trip using one of the first versions of Google Chrome, it's at least showed us how far Chrome - and the internet itself - has come. In 2022, playing Sea of Thieves or watching the upcoming Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi in 4K, is seen as a normal task in Chrome.
