Germany has extended its lockdown for three weeks, imposing an almost complete halt over the Easter holiday in response to a third wave of coronavirus infections. After talks with regional leaders, Chancellor Angela Merkel said Germany was now in a "very serious" situation. Restrictions will be even tougher from 1-5 April, when most shops will be shut and gatherings will be limited. Meanwhile, France's president wants vaccinations "morning, noon and night". Emmanuel Macron was responding to an increase in intensive care cases and warnings of an "explosion" in hospital admissions. In contrast, the UK has managed to reduce its infection rate, attributing that to its tough lockdown and large-scale vaccinations. Spain says it will allow British travellers back in from 30 March, easing a restriction in place since 22 December. That restriction only allowed in Spanish nationals and residents arriving from the UK. But the UK currently bans foreign holidays, so there will be no rapid revival of Spanish tourism. Why Germany is imposing toughest measures so far "Essentially, we have a new virus," Chancellor Merkel said after marathon talks with the leaders of Germany's 16 states. The highly contagious UK (Kent) variant of coronavirus had become dominant in Germany, she explained, plunging the country into "a new pandemic". It is much deadlier, much more infectious and infectious for much longer. Germany was in a race against time to vaccinate against the coronavirus, she added. Tuesday's lockdown extension to 18 April marks a reversal from earlier this month, when state leaders agreed to begin a cautious reopening process. For five days over Easter from 1 April, Germans are being asked to stay at home and reduce contacts: In-person religious services are cancelled Big family gatherings are banned, with no more than two households, or up to five people, allowed to meet All shops are shut, apart from food shops on Saturday 3 April. The heads of Germany's Catholic and Protestant Churches expressed dismay over the ban on Easter church congregations. They argued that their existing social-distancing measures made church attendance safe, German ARD news reported. The infection rate has risen above 100 per 100,000 inhabitants in Germany. A further 7,485 infections have been reported in the past 24 hours, as well as 250 deaths. An "emergency brake" will halt further re-openings in areas where infections exceed 100 new cases per 100,000 people over a seven-day period. How are European countries tackling the pandemic? Coronavirus infections have been surging in some parts of Europe in recent weeks as countries scramble to vaccinate their po[CENSORED]tions despite delays in rolling out jabs. Dutch lockdown measures are also to remain in place until 20 April because of a "worrying and uncertain" Covid situation. But a curfew in place since January will start an hour later, at 22:00, from Wednesday 31 March.

Elephants are the largest existing land animals. Three species are currently recognised: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant. Elephantidae is the only surviving family of the order Proboscidea; extinct members include the mastodons. The family Elephantidae also contains several now-extinct groups, including the mammoths and straight-tusked elephants. African elephants have larger ears and concave backs, whereas Asian elephants have smaller ears, and convex or level backs. Distinctive features of all elephants include a long proboscis called a trunk, tusks, large ear flaps, massive legs, and tough but sensitive skin. The trunk is used for breathing, bringing food and water to the mouth, and grasping objects. Tusks, which are derived from the incisor teeth, serve both as weapons and as tools for moving objects and digging. The large ear flaps assist in maintaining a constant body temperature as well as in communication. The pillar-like legs carry their great weight. Elephants are scattered throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia and are found in different habitats, including savannahs, forests, deserts, and marshes. They are herbivorous, and they stay near water when it is accessible. They are considered to be keystone species, due to their impact on their environments. Elephants have a fission–fusion society, in which multiple family groups come together to socialise. Females (cows) tend to live in family groups, which can consist of one female with her calves or several related females with offspring. The groups, which do not include bulls, are led by the (usually) oldest cow, known as the matriarch. Males (bulls) leave their family groups when they reach puberty, and may live alone or with other males. Adult bulls mostly interact with family groups when looking for a mate. They enter a state of increased testosterone and aggression known as musth, which helps them gain dominance over other males as well as reproductive success. Calves are the centre of attention in their family groups and rely on their mothers for as long as three years. Elephants can live up to 70 years in the wild. They communicate by touch, sight, smell, and sound; elephants use infrasound, and seismic communication over long distances. Elephant intelligence has been compared with that of primates and cetaceans. They appear to have self-awareness, and appear to show empathy for dying and dead family members. African elephants are listed as vulnerable and Asian elephants as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). One of the biggest threats to elephant po[CENSORED]tions is the ivory trade, as the animals are poached for their ivory tusks. Other threats to wild elephants include habitat destruction and conflicts with local people. Elephants are used as working animals in Asia. In the past, they were used in war; today, they are often controversially put on display in zoos, or exploited for entertainment in circuses. Elephants are highly recognisable and have been featured in art, folklore, religion, literature, and po[CENSORED]r culture. Elephants belong to the family Elephantidae, the sole remaining family within the order Proboscidea which belongs to the superorder Afrotheria. Their closest extant relatives are the sirenians (dugongs and manatees) and the hyraxes, with which they share the clade Paenungulata within the superorder Afrotheria.[8] Elephants and sirenians are further grouped in the clade Tethytheria.[9] Three species of elephants are recognised; the African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana) and forest elephant (Loxodonta cyclotis) of sub-Saharan Africa, and the Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) of South and Southeast Asia.[10] African elephants have larger ears, a concave back, more wrinkled skin, a sloping abdomen, and two finger-like extensions at the tip of the trunk. Asian elephants have smaller ears, a convex or level back, smoother skin, a horizontal abdomen that occasionally sags in the middle and one extension at the tip of the trunk. The looped ridges on the molars are narrower in the Asian elephant while those of the African are more diamond-shaped. The Asian elephant also has dorsal bumps on its head and some patches of depigmentation on its skin.[11] Among African elephants, forest elephants have smaller and more rounded ears and thinner and straighter tusks than bush elephants and are limited in range to the forested areas of western and Central Africa.[12] Both were traditionally considered a single species, Loxodonta africana, but molecular studies have affirmed their status as separate species.[13][14][15] In 2017, DNA sequence analysis showed that L. cyclotis is more closely related to the extinct Palaeoloxodon antiquus, than it is to L. africana, possibly undermining the genus Loxodonta as a whole.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT73e 4Matic+ EQ Power+ 4-Door Coupé will pack “more than 800bhp” in a bid to position it at the top of the four-door sports car ranks when it hits UK showrooms this year. The range-topping performance saloon will be the first in a series of new plug-in hybrid Mercedes-AMG models to feature what is known within the firm as a “P3 plug-in hybrid” system, which should enable the GT73e to cover 0-62mph in less than 3.0sec and exceed 200mph. The new flagship model will rival the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and command a premium over the current, non-electrified GT63 – with prices likely to start upwards of £150,000. As well as representing the beginning of a new electrified era for AMG, the GT73e could also serve as a spiritual successor to the company’s debut model: the outlandish 300CE Hammer super-saloon, which cemented AMG’s reputation for endowing big saloons with supercar pace. The GT73e’s new P3 plug-in hybrid system uses an electric motor integrated into the rear axle to provide what is described as a “significant” performance boost to the petrol engine, a mildly updated version of the GT63’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, combined with a fully variable four-wheel drive system. In addition to the GT73e, the P3 PHEV system is set to be used by new 73-badged versions of the latest S-Class and upcoming SL grand tourer. It will also underpin the petrol-electric successor to the C63 4Matic, although, as first reported by Autocar, it will be used in combination with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, rather than a large-capacity V8. The P3 PHEV layout will initially be reserved exclusively for Mercedes-AMG models. All existing PHEVs from parent company Mercedes-Benz use the P2 PHEV system, which sites the electric motor within the gearbox housing – a layout also used on the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The new GT73e’s P3 PHEV system provides scope for a larger electric motor than is possible within the packaging constraints of the P2 system, offering direct drive to the rear wheels in pure-electric mode and enhanced torque vectoring in hybrid mode. Additionally, this means the electric motor’s torque is not capped by the limitations of the gearbox. It also provides the basis for improved front-to-rear weight distribution and allows significantly more efficient energy recuperation as there are no mechanical losses from the gearbox. Kinetic electricity harvested during braking and periods of trailing throttle is fed straight back into the battery. AMG sources have revealed to Autocar that the GT73e’s electric motor will have up to 201bhp and 268lb ft. Reports suggest it shares key parts with the ZF-produced ‘M0’ asynchronous electric motor used in the pure-electric Mercedes-Benz EQC and EQV. The motor’s reserves are combined with the GT73e’s petrol engine, which in its GT63 S 4-Door Coupé tune kicks out 639bhp and 664lb ft, to deliver what Autocar has been told are “previously unattained levels of power and torque” for a road-going four-door AMG model.

Several Western countries have imposed sanctions on officials in China over rights abuses against the mostly Muslim Uighur minority group. China has detained Uighurs at camps in the north-west region of Xinjiang, where allegations of torture, forced labour and sexual abuse have emerged. The sanctions were introduced as a coordinated effort by the European Union, UK, US and Canada. China responded with its own sanctions on European officials. It has denied the allegations of abuse, claiming the camps are "re-education" facilities used to combat terrorism. But UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said the treatment of Uighurs amounted to "appalling violations of the most basic human rights". The EU has not imposed new sanctions on China over human rights abuses since the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, when troops in Beijing opened fire on pro-democracy protesters. Who are the Uighurs? Uighur camp detainees allege systematic rape China's tainted cotton What do we know about the sanctions? The sanctions, including travel bans and asset freezes, target senior officials in Xinjiang who have been accused of serious human rights violations against Uighur Muslims. Those targeted have been named as: Chen Mingguo, the director of the Xinjiang Public Security Bureau, the local police force Wang Mingshan, a member of Xinjiang's Communist Party standing committee, who, the EU says, "holds a key political position in charge of overseeing" the detention of Uighurs Wang Junzheng, party secretary of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), a state-owned economic and paramilitary organisation The former deputy Communist Party head in Xinjiang, Zhu Hailun, who is accused of having held a "key political position" in overseeing the running of the camps The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Public Security Bureau, which is in charge of implementing XPCC policies on security matters, including the management of detention centres Mr Raab called the abuse of Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang "one of the worst human rights crises of our time".

The OnePlus 9 launch may be just over a week away, but we've already had a glimpse of what to expect from the OnePlus 9 Pro as photos of the handset appeared on the company's Twitter account. The OnePlus UK Twitter account shared the below teasers for the upcoming phone that shows almost all the angles you'd want to see of the OnePlus 9 Pro. It also seemingly confirms a new color variant called Morning Mist. We've seen the camera module of this device before in other teasers (like the one at the top of this page), but this is the first time we've seen the handset in such detail from the company's official channels. What we know about the OnePlus Watch These are the top upcoming phones The very best OnePlus phones Morning Mist seems to be a reflective glass design with a white effect in these shots, but it's currently unclear if that's the effect from the snowy scene they're shot on or actually the color of the phone. The handset also has curved edges on the screen as well as on the rear of the device. That hasn't been entirely clear in previous information from the company, but matches leaks we've seen in recent weeks. The camera module on the OnePlus 9 Pro has four lenses, and it has the Hasselblad logo emblazoned on the camera too. We know the OnePlus 9 Pro will include a Sony IMX789 sensor and an ultra-wide camera. OnePlus has also entered a partnership with famed camera brand Hasselblad in an attempt to improve the color calibration on its devices. We expect there's still more to learn about the OnePlus 9 Pro's camera though. More to come? We've just seen three colors for the standard OnePlus 9 phone leak too, but that doesn't include this Morning Mist shade from the images we've seen so far. The company is putting its focus on teasing the flagship OnePlus 9 Pro, so it may be there's more to learn about the standard OnePlus 9 when it comes to the company's launch. March 23 is the big launch event for the OnePlus 9 Pro, and while we expect to learn more in the coming week, as the company continues to tease its smartphones, you can expect to learn everything about the new smartphones then. TechRadar spoke to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau last week to learn about the upcoming phone's camera tech, as well as a host of developments the manufacturer is planning for future devices as well.

AMD is moving its mobile Ryzen 5000 processors into business with Ryzen 5000 Pro, the company announced today. The new series consists of three chips, the Ryzen 7 Pro 5850U, Ryzen 5 Pro 5650U and Ryzen 3 5450U, and AMD claims the processors will show up in 63 laptop designs this year, including laptops from Lenovo and HP. All three processors are on AMD's Zen 3 architecture and 7nm process. (In fact, they are almost exactly identical, except for cache, on specs with the consumer-focused Ryzen 7 5800U, Ryzen 5 5600U and Ryzen 3 5400U) In benchmarks released by the company, it compared the top-of-the-line, Cezanne-based AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 5850U to Intel's 28W Core i7-1185G7 "Tiger Lake" part. AMD admitted to a 3% loss against the Core i7 in single-threaded performance (measured in Cinebench R20) but showed 65% gains in Cinebench R20 multi-thread and Passmark 10 CPU Mark, as well as Geekbench 5's multi-core (single-core scores weren't listed). In these tests, Intel's chip was housed in a Dell Latitude 5420 with 32GB of RAM at 3,200 MHz and a 512GB SSD from SK Hynix, while the Ryzen Pro was in a reference platform with 16GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 4,266 MHz and a 512GB Samsung 970 Pro SSD. In productivity, the two tied in Microsoft Word and the Edge browser in AMD's tests, but the Cezanne chip came out between 4% and 23% in other productivity benchmarks. Those tests switched the Intel laptop to an MSI Prestige 14 Evo with a 28W TDP, 16GB of RAM at 4,267 MHz, and a Kingston SSD of unspecified size. The AMD machine remained the reference design. Just to show off, AMD also picked some benchmarks comparing the Ryzen 5 Pro 5650U and the Core i7-1185G7, where its chip outperformed Intel in Passmark 10 CPU Mark (+25%), Geekbench 5 multi-core (+26%), PCMark 10 Apps (+4%) and PCMark 10 Benchmark (+20%). This round of testing also used the MSI Prestige 14 Evo and the reference design. Compared to the Latitude with Intel Core i7-1185G7, AMD claims that the Ryzen 7 Pro 5850U is up to 10% faster while running a 49-participant Zoom call and running the PCMark 10 applications benchmark. For battery life, AMD compared to previous generation Ryzen Pro chips, suggesting the 7nm process helps the new Ryzen 7 reach 17.5 hours on Mobile Mark 2018's general computing test. The company is touting new security features for this year. AMD Shadow Stack is at the hardware level to prevent malware. It's part of the Secured Core PC program, which Microsoft announced with Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm in late 2019, and also meets the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology's Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). To mark the launch, AMD is also showcasing six laptops coming from partners HP and Lenovo. The HP Probook Aero 635 G2 and HP Probook x360 435 G8 will be exclusive for 2021, and the Lenovo ThinkBook 16) is listed as an "AMD exclusive creator platform." The company also listed the HP EliteBook 845 G8, ThinkPad T14S and ThinkBook 14S as highlighted notebooks.

Owners of the new Fiat 500 will be able to earn rewards for economical driving thanks to an app that scores their driving style out of 100. Stellantis - the car giant that owns Fiat and its sister brands - says the scheme will be available via the Fiat app, thanks to an agreement with British start-up Kiri Technologies. By driving efficiently owners will earn an ‘Eco:Score’ for each journey, with one kilometre of city driving roughly equal to two euro cents. Stellantis says that an annual mileage of 10,000km per year could be worth up to €150 (£130 approx), with the funds paid into a virtual wallet in the form of a digital coin called ‘KiriCoin’. “We want to support our customers’ environmentally-friendly behaviours and reward them with exclusive benefits,” explained Gabriele Catacchio, program manager for Stellantis’s e-Mobility venture. “Driving data, such as distance and speed, is uploaded to the Kiri cloud and automatically converted into KiriCoins, using an algorithm devised by Kiri. “The result is downloaded directly to the user’s smartphone and the KiriCoins can then be used to purchase products and services in the Kiri marketplace.” Stellantis is yet to outline exactly what will feature in this marketplace, but drivers who achieve the best scores in Europe will earn extra vouchers to be spent with the likes of Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, Apple and e-commerce company Zalando. In the future it’s hoped that drivers will be able to spend their KiriCoins on anything from renewable energy to organic groceries, with the goal of the system to incentivise sustainable lifestyles. Stellantis claims that the ability to earn a digital coin by driving, the exclusive marketplace to spend those funds and the extra rewards for the highest-scoring drivers are all world firsts. Kiri Technologies “grasped our attention with a very simple, innovative idea” said Cristiano Fiorio, responsible for Stellantis’s brand marketing communication in Europe, “to reward the behaviours of people who respect the environment. Combining this idea with the features of the New 500, our flagship of technological innovation and electric mobility, came naturally to us.”

“Rain came, and then thunder, bringing truffles up to the surface,” the 72-year-old said. Braving the harsh weather of Iraq’s southern desert, as well as left-behind land mines, Buheir and her family of seven have spent weeks hunting for the seasonal truffles that have provided them with an income for generations. Fetching its hunters up to $7 a kilo this year, Iraq’s desert truffle is cheaper than its rarer European cousins that can cost hundreds of dollars or more a kilo. But with Iraq’s economy in crisis, the local variety are a big help to Buheir and her family. This year the rain came late and Buheir could only find about a kilo of truffles a day, one tenth of what she would dig up in a good year. Turning over stones and poking the earth with her bare hands, Buheir’s granddaughter, 5-year-old Riyam, accompanied her parents to learn a trade and the desert lifestyle. “When there is no work, truffles are a source of income. And we are happy here,” said Riyam’s father Mohsen Farhan, who cherishes the weeks he spends with his family in their tent in the desert. Learning to hunt for truffles these days also involves understanding the desert’s dangers. “We are afraid of wolves, there are a lot here. And there are mines. A while ago, someone died,” Farhan said. Remnants from the Gulf war in 1991, unexploded devices beneath the earth could be mistaken for truffles by the inexperienced eye. Every few days, Hussein Abu Ali, drives into the desert from the city of Samawa to take the truffles to market. There, Ali Tajj al-Din sells them at auction, each with a different name according to size. “These are walnuts, eggs, oranges, and here is the pomegranate, the biggest one,” he said. This year, scarcity has pushed up prices and truffles that don’t sell locally are exported to wealthier Gulf countries. But customers at Samawa’s “Beit al-Hatab” restaurant relish its weekly truffle speciality. “We fry or grill them, but the favourite dish is truffles on rice,” said restaurant owner Fawwaz Hatab.

The influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has warned the US not to "cause a stink", as President Joe Biden prepares to set out his Korean policy. In remarks on state media, Kim Yo-jong criticised the US and South Korea for conducting joint military exercises. Her comments come a day before top US officials are due to arrive in Seoul. The US government has said it has been trying for weeks to make diplomatic contact with North Korea. Pyongyang has yet to acknowledge that President Biden is now in office. The two countries remain at loggerheads over the North's nuclear and ballistic missile programmes. Kim Yo-jong: North Korea's heir apparent? North Korea 'not responding' to US contact efforts Kim Yo-jong was quoted in the official Rodong Sinmun newspaper as saying: "A word of advice to the new administration of the United States that is struggling to spread the smell of gunpowder on our land from across the ocean. "If it wants to sleep in peace for [the] coming four years, it had better refrain from causing a stink at its first step." She reiterated her country's opposition to the joint military exercises - which North Korea describes as preparations for invasion - saying: "The South Korean government yet again chose the 'March of War', the 'March of Crisis'." Many of us in Seoul have been expecting this. North Korea usually reacts when South Korea and the US carry out joint military exercises. Sometimes that is in the form of a missile test. On other occasions, such as this one, it responds to the so-called "war games" with a string of angry words. Kim Yo-jong has been her brother's favoured attack dog for a while and this statement is no exception. She aims at two targets in her remarks: the joint drills and the visit to Seoul by US secretary of state and the defence chief. It at least lets Washington and Seoul know Pyongyang is watching and listening, despite not responding to the recent back-channel attempts by the White House. Kim Yo-jong didn't elaborate on exactly what North Korea would do if it didn't like what it heard during these meetings. But she is saying - you have been warned. line North Korea's nuclear ambitions are expected to be high on the agenda during this week's visits to South Korea and Japan by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin. Mr Biden has already announced a policy review on North Korea, which is expected to be unveiled next month. North Korea throws down the gauntlet for Biden The South Koreans enslaved in the North's mines How Trump offered Kim a ride on Air Force One During the election campaign he called Mr Kim "a thug" and said North Korean nuclear disarmament had to happen before US and UN economic sanctions could be relaxed. Relations between the US and North Korea plummeted in 2017, when the North tested long-range missiles capable of hitting American cities. Tensions eased as President Donald Trump sought to develop a personal rapport with Mr Kim. But much-trumpeted meetings - including summits in Singapore and Vietnam - failed to break the impasse over nuclear disarmament and sanctions.

I've helped thousands of people get the PS5 and they've sent me 'console-hand-photos' with ear-to-ear grins to prove it. That's powered me to continue to help. But the truth is I haven't gotten the PlayStation 5 myself – yet. I'm not following my own advice. And I've hit every speed bump since launch, which you can learn from. Need it? Follow my PS5 / Xbox restock Twitter tracker to receive alerts for the next console drop. It's the fastest way to get real-time updates on stock. I turned my Twitter account into a PS5 restock tracker one month ago. I didn't really plan on it. I only meant to complain about how hard it was to buy a PlayStation 5 after so many failed attempts. I posted a link to the next drop the next day and people began to thank me profusely. It snowballed from there. It turns out, I'm not alone. More than 150,000 new followers later, I'm helping actors, US senators, TV news anchors, Olympians, college sports figures and execs at top tech companies. I've enjoyed seeing the reach of my help. But more than celebrity, I love seeing the console-in-hand photos of smiling everyday gamers the most. My focus has shifted from buying as PS5 to ensuring others get one. That's been far more rewarding. But you'd think I'd still be able to buy one by now, right? From my many failed attempts come lessons I should pass on – if you're still looking for the new Sony console four months after launch. 1. I wasn't following a PS5 tracker account On PS5 launch day – November 12, 2020 – I had a doctor's appointment and foolishly thought, 'I'll just buy PS5 while I'm in the waiting room'. When I didn't get it then, I thought, 'I'll just get it before Black Friday and Cyber Monday. No? Before Christmas. Nothing? Surely sometime in January? Wait, I still don't have it in March?!' Getting notifications as soon as there's a PS5 restock has become critical. You're not only trying to 'secure the bag' before other people. An army of scalper bots that are designed to purchase the system without hesitation, letting scalper resell the PS5 for 2x and, at the height of scarcity, 3x what it's worth. Follow a Twitter account and turn on notifications. There are others doing it besides myself, including Jake Randall, Cameron Ritz and Chito Gaming to name a few. Not all retailers are first come first serve (Sony Direct is a lottery system) and most consoles sold are within a 30-minute window (people give up to easily when, really, inventory is released in waves). But being there minute one helps. 2. I didn't embrace the PS5 bundle – you should My biggest mistake early on was to spurn the PS5 bundle. Bundles, by nature, more pricey; they come with PS5 games, controllers, and some other PS5 accessories. The good news is scalpers have a difficult time reselling bundles – it's a lot harder to resell the console with Spider-Man: Miles Morales and NBA 2K21, for example. You'd have to find someone who wants both games and a second controller. As long as you want those extras, the bundle is a great choice and inventory often lasts longest at GameStop. While Walmart and Best Buy in the US crash, GameStop doesn't fall victim to the weight of scalper bots. Bundles just aren't worth it for them. Some caveats: If you don't want something like NBA 2K21, don't buy the bundle. If NBA 2K1 costs $50 - $60 now at Amazon, but the GameStop bundle still values it at $70, don't buy the bundle. And if the bundle is marked up tremendously, like we see from third-party marketplace sellers, don't buy the bundle. 3. I wasn't checking all PS5 stores I mostly stuck to Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart when initially looking for my PS5. That was a mistake. Amazon has had very few restocks since launch, while Best Buy and Walmart require constant refreshing – the page often crashes until they sell out. Amazon: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition – has surprise random restocks GameStop: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition – great source due to affordable bundles that stay in stock longer Walmart: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition – has had the most inventory, but is also the most po[CENSORED]r Sony Direct: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition – random lottery, helping beat the bots Target: PS5 |PS5 Digital Edition – reduces scalper chances by forcing you to pick up the console in stores (online-only ordering, though) Best Buy: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition – same as PS5 Target restock. Online ordering with pick-up in store, though pickups aren't same day. B&H Photo: PS5 |PS5 Digital Edition Sam's Club: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition Newegg: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition – sometimes a part of the Newegg Shuffle Costco: PS5 – requires a membership (which helps as much as it hurts if you don't have one), but weekly drops Adorama: PS5 Antonline: PS5 – fast shipper and great choice as long as you want loaded bundles From the many tweet replies I've gotten, followers have seen biggest success from GameStop, Target and ANTonline. GameStop has been the easy for people to get (see my point about the bundle), while Target lets you do in-store pick up after an online order (don't show up at the store without a confirmed purchase). ANTonline is a newcomer to a lot of people, but from the feedback I've gotten over the past month, the tech-focused store ships the fastest. Their loaded bundles also sell out in three to five minutes, which is a lifetime in the PS5 restock world. I would be hesitant to trust stores outside of this list simply because there have been several scam sites trying to sell the PS5. You'll get neither your PS5 nor your money back, especially if you're asking you to use Apple Pay or the Cash App (they'll say they accept PayPal initially, but then switch it on you saying it's not working).

The Raspberry Pi Pico is a fun and inexpensive way to get into coding and electronics. After buying a Pico, we need to also buy extra components to expand its scope and this can become costly and complicated. Cytron Technologies aims to simplify our learning journey and the Maker Pi Pico crams a lot of extra functions into a small package all for less than $10, including a Raspberry Pi Pico. That isn’t a typo, embedded in the center of the Maker Pi Pico is a Raspberry Pi Pico, and the surrounding board has pre connected breakouts for every GPIO pin, many connected to extra components such as an micro SD card reader, audio output / buzzer and a series of Grove connectors, the same as those used on Seeed’s Grove Shield which enable fast and simple electronic circuit development. The Maker Pi Pico comes preloaded with MicroPython, a good choice for those learning to code with the Pico, but we found that CircuitPython was a much better option for the Maker Pi Pico, and so do Cytron who have produced a series of tutorials based around Adafruit’s CircuitPython. The majority of this review was written using CircuitPython as the means to test the board. The 3.7 x 2.6 inch (94 x 68 mm) purple Maker Pi Pico PCB is a joy to behold. It has clear pin references for the GPIO and a series of header pins breaking out the pre-soldered Raspberry Pi Pico for easy use. The majority of the GPIO pins have an inline LED which illuminates when the pin is turned on. At the extreme left and right of the board are six Grove connectors, with clear GPIO pin references printed on each. We connected a relay to the first Grove connector and wrote a few lines of code to quickly open and close the relay circuit. Only Grove connector six is connected to an analog pin, two in fact. So this will limit the number of analog Grove inputs that can be used, but in our experience this is not an issue. At the top right of the board is a single WS2812 Neopixel capable of producing many different colors by mixing the balance or red, green and blue light. Using the CircuitPython neopixel.mpy library and example code from Adafruit, we created a rainbow of colors with great ease. At the bottom of the board are a microSD card reader, 3.5mm audio jack, speaker and four buttons. The microSD card reader is connected to the SPI interface and, using the CircuitPython SD card library, we quickly managed to access a FAT formatted microSD card then read and write to and from the card. This will augment the meager 2MB of flash memory provided by the Pico and enable us to store files from experiments, for example sensor logs. The 3.5mm audio output and onboard buzzer share the same GPIO pin (GP18) and, when the output is in use, it disables the onboard buzzer, which is trivial but useful. Audio via the output can be played using any amplified speaker and following a CircuitPython music tutorial we managed to string together a series of pleasant beeps and tones.
