  1. Wehrlein, 25, will partner André Lotterer on the team, replacing Neel Jani. The German driver has competed, so far, 17 races in the electric car championship, in which he has achieved 72 points, a pole position and a podium in his first season (2018/2019), when he finished second in the E-Prix from Santiago de Chile. The pilot from Sigmaringa (Germany) began his career in karting. In 2010 he made his debut in the ADAC Formula Masters and, a year later, he won that championship. In 2012, after finishing second in the European Formula 3, he continued to compete in touring car races the following years. Between 2013 and 2015, and in 2018, Wehrlein participated in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM), where he achieved three victories. He made history by winning the 2015 competition, when he was only 20 years old, as the youngest driver to do so in DTM history. In 2016 and 2017, Wehrlein raced in Formula 1 with Manor and Sauber. "It is a great honor for me to race for Porsche," says the driver in a team statement. "I have always admired the unparalleled history of the brand in competition. I have great respect for its prolific career. I am looking forward to meeting the team and starting work at Weissach as soon as possible."
  2. Now you have to draw conclusions and make decisions. The phrase corresponds to Quique Setién, one of the guilty of the humiliation suffered by Barcelona after the 2-8 conceded against Bayern Munich. The Barça coach, already on the wire since the competition stopped due to the Covid-19 crisis, has the hours counted on the culé bench, although he is not solely responsible for the decline of a club that yesterday hit rock bottom and closed a glorious cycle full of titles and exhibitions. The players were received with the shout of scoundrels in the concentration hotel in Lisbon by a hobby demanding changes. Just like Piqué did after the defeat. The club needs structural changes of all kinds. It is not a thing only of the players or the coach, he criticized, pointing directly to Bartomeu. Pre-candidates for the presidency such as Víctor Font or Joan Laporta have already raised their voices demanding the resignation of the leader and an urgent call for elections. There are several keys that allow us to understand the failure of Barcelona. A wandering sports direction. The plot headed by Eric Abidal or Ramón Planas did not succeed with the signings or with the sports planning. A lot of money was invested in footballers who have not proven worth it. Yesterday Griezmann, Dembélé and Coutinho (on loan to Bayern), which cost 400 million euros, started the game on the bench. It has not been known to strengthen the defensive line, it has been sold or loaned to footballers in the middle of the season to balance the accounts, notably weakening the team, which has been forced to sign Braithwaite after the winter market. Improvisation has been the flag of a sports management that was left with shame in the air when it was discovered that they were negotiating with Xavi, which significantly weakened Valverde and forced his departure in the middle of the season. A squad without generational change. Barcelona has invested many millions without it being noticed in its eleven type. Of the starting team that yesterday played against Bayern Munich, six players were over 30 years old (Piqué, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Arturo Vidal, Luis Suárez and Messi). In fact, seven footballers who won the Berlin Champions League in 2015, five years ago, continue to weigh heavily on the team. Messi warned him at the beginning of the year: With what we have, it does not reach us. The Argentine saw it, who echoed an unbalanced and aging squad, in which many footballers play by the gallon. It takes a center back, two full-backs and a pivot to prop up the defense and rejuvenate an exhausted squad. And as if that were not enough, one of the players to arrive will be Pjanic, who at 31 has been traded for Arthur, who was 23, in a clear economic move to balance the budget. A spoiled wardrobe. Much has been said about the power of the players. They earned the right to decide on many aspects when they filled the showcases with titles but their power has been increasing inversely proportional to their performance. There have been shameful episodes such as Dembélé's lateness and unpunctuality, Arturo Vidal's complaint to the club for the alleged non-payment of some bonds, Gerard Piqué's busy social and professional life, more focused on his Davis Cup than on the future of the season, Luis Suárez's decision to undergo surgery putting the interests of his team before those of the club, Umtiti's refusal to have surgery and force with France, Arthur's rebellion refusing to return to Barcelona to play the Champions League, complaints of Busquets towards the coach after some defeat, Rakitic's laments for his substitutions, Semedo's decision to skip the health protocol for the Covid attending a massive birthday without a mask ... The power of the players has prevailed over that of the coach or to the board of directors. Low ability to make decisions. The directive has been putting patches to the broken ones that were arising. In recent years there have been numerous and successive changes in the sports management, which has denoted the lack of a clear project that has been evident in the replacement of coach at mid-season when the team was leading in the League and had reached the Round of 16 of the Champions as first of the group and with a match to go. A sense of swing when it comes to dealing with signings, such as the attempt to recover Neymar last year against all odds, or Griezmann after the sit-in he gave the club a year earlier. Bartomeu kept Valverde after the debacles in Rome and Liverpool when the culé environment asked him for his head and dismissed him when there were no apparent reasons to do so. Bartomeu has been weakened, who has also been harmed by some murky events such as the case of social networks and the subsequent resignation of his dolphin, Emili Rousaud, who left with four more managers. A timid coach. Setién arrived with the Cruyffismo manual under his arm as the only argument to excite the Barça fans. It was enough to alleviate his null curriculum but he soon betrayed the idolized ideology to put the results first. Thus, he changed the 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 and lost the respect of the dressing room, which marked him in the most significant defeats. The manner of his volcanic assistant, Eder Sarabia, did not help him either. The images of Sarabia criticizing and shouting at the soccer players in the classic sat like a shot in the booth. The technician left the meritocracy to bet on the hierarchy and try to satisfy a locker room that swallowed him up. Valverde had been criticized a lot despite his two leagues and a Cup, but Setién did not improve him in titles or at stake. His hours are numbered. Mauricio Pochettino, the one who said that he preferred to go live on his farm in Argentina before training Barcelona, is on pole to relieve him. One more sample of the erratic and improvised sports policy of the club.
  3. After weeks of rumors, endless speculation, and tons of potential release dates, NVIDIA revealed when it will unveil its new graphics. The presentation event of "the latest innovations in games and graphics of the company" will be on Tuesday, September 1, the planned event will take place where we can see the latest from the company. Ampere is expected to be a big leap from the current Turing architecture. We could say that Turing was a preliminary implementation of Ray Tracing, seen what we have seen. The RTX Ampere are expected to deliver up to three times the performance in ray tracing. It is even speculated that the GTX models could disappear and the ray tracing would reach the low range. Be that as it may, the important thing is that after months of talking and telling, we finally have something tangible. Already Ampere GPUs for AI and Deep Learning represent a big leap from the Volta architecture. A Volta architecture that only reached the professional segment and was called Turing for the gaming market. Note that the latest rumors indicate that NVIDIA changed its strategy when it comes to models. To date NVIDIA first launches the Founders Edition models, which are their own models. Later, like a month or so later, the custom models are released by builders like Gigabyte, MSI, ASUS, and so on. Now they would all launch together, thus generating a brutal supply amount.
  4. Microsoft has begun to test a new mechanism in its Windows 10 operating system for users to quickly find out the news after each update, showing a summary of the main changes. This new "experience after the update", as Microsoft has described it in a statement, consists of a renewal of its Tips application, and is now available for Windows 10 testers in its version 20190. In this way, every time users install a "major update" of the operating system - which takes place twice a year, in the fall and in the spring - Windows will automatically open the Tips application to summarize the main news. Users will be able to choose to view this information through an option present in the Windows system settings menu, in the notifications section, which allows checking or unchecking the option to 'show Windows welcome experience'. At the moment, as Microsoft has warned, this new feature will initially be available only to English-speaking Windows users in countries such as the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and India.

  6. This Friday the Interterritorial Health Council took place in which the ministry has put on the table a series of measures that have been unanimously agreed by all the autonomous communities to respond to the situation of special risk derived from the increase in positive cases due to Covid. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has appeared at a press conference after ending the extraordinary meeting of the Interterritorial Health Council in which a series of measures unanimously agreed by all the communities have been established, said the minister. There have been a growing number of outbreaks in recent weeks with sustained growth in cases and that is why we have taken the decision to bring together the plenary of the Interterritorial Health Council and adopt measures, Illa said. We have decided to agree for the first time, if the records of our democracy do not fail us, coordinated actions in the matter of public health for the benefit of all communities, added the minister after the celebration of an Interterritorial Council convened urgently yesterday. Illa has clarified that the measures are a minimum, in no case a maximum, which means that the autonomies will be able to toughen the measures even more if they consider it appropriate. These are eleven measures that affect seven areas, three recommendations and an indication of observance (the means and capacities of the health systems will be guaranteed to comply with the provisions of the Early Response Plan in a pandemic control scenario due to Covid). As ABC has advanced, the closure of discotheques, dance halls and cocktail bars with and without live musical performances throughout the territory is established. It is true that the greatest number of outbreaks do not occur in this environment, but the outbreaks generated in nightlife generate many cases and it is very difficult, due to the nature of the activity carried out in these facilities, to identify the contacts. The bottle is prohibited. In addition, controls will be strengthened to prevent unauthorized alcohol consumption: The bottle is prohibited, alcohol cannot be drunk on public roads, the minister insisted, and for this reason “the sanctioning regime that each community or city council has arranged in this matter ”. Illa sent a message to the elderly thanking them for complying with the measures of the new normal, and was tougher with the young, stressing the importance of being disciplined. «In this new phase where we are dealing with the virus we cannot not be disciplined, we cannot not comply with the measures that we have all decreed that we have to comply with, we cannot ignore that the virus is circulating and therefore I want to address them because one of the measures affects them more directly to remind them of the importance of maintaining discipline until we have a vaccine, he said. Smoking will be prohibited on public roads or in outdoor spaces when a minimum interpersonal distance of at least 1.5 meters cannot be respected. And if you want to go further, the best thing is that you never smoke, Illa decided. Regarding the hospitality industry, it is recalled the need to guarantee a minimum interpersonal distance of 1.5 meters in bar services, to guarantee a minimum distance between tables and groups that makes possible an interpersonal distance of 1.5 meters and a limitation of a maximum of 10 people per table or group of tables, said Illa who pointed out that the closing time of the entire hospitality sector will be at 1 in the morning, with the impossibility of accepting new customers after 12 in the night. Mandatory PCR. As for social health centers, mandatory PCR will be made to all new entrants with a maximum delay of 72 hours and also to employees who return from leave or vacations. Visits will be limited to one person per resident, with extreme prevention measures and a maximum duration of one hour a day, guaranteeing the staggering of visits to avoid crowds. These measures could be exempted in the case of patients who are in the final process of their life. Also in the social health field, the exits of residents will be limited to the maximum. Regarding mass events and activities, a risk assessment will have to be made by the health authority. The obligation to screen specific groups for CRP is also established in the event of an epidemic outbreak (housing blocks, educational centers, residences, neighborhoods, etc.). Regarding the recommendations, citizens will be urged to limit their social encounters to their stable groups, therefore, everything that involves encounters with people outside of this group is recommended to be limited as much as possible; It is also recommended to limit social encounters to a maximum of ten people and the third recommendation applies to social and health centers and residences where it is advisable to do screening PCR tests on a regular basis. Entry into force. The minister has clarified that the communities have the obligation to transpose their legal regulations from a notification that I will send them today and they have a period of time to transpose these agreements to their autonomous regulations. Illa added that the agreement "is not optional, since we have all agreed to it, we all have an obligation to put them into practice and due to their nature as a declaration of coordinated action in public health, they do not require judicial ratification, but they can be challenged but are measures of automatic fulfillment. Regarding the beginning of the school year, Illa said that it is the responsibility of the communities and that months ago under the leadership of the Ministry of Education a minimum guideline was established so that the course begins with guarantees.
  7. The Covid-19 Donation Match Program was established in April to offer Ford employees, their families and friends a way to help combat the growing pandemic that kept them at home without being able to volunteer in the traditional way. "Giving back is one of Ford's key values and that is further exemplified by our employees," said Bill Ford, CEO of Ford Motor Company. "We received so many requests from our collaborators asking how they could help in the early days of the pandemic. The Donation Match program provided a meaningful way for them to join the fight against Covid-19, even at a time when they couldn't be there. physically there to help make a difference. " Through the program, 47 nonprofit organizations and communities in 20 countries and 14 states in the United States received funds donated by Ford employees, family and friends, which were then matched by $ 500,000 from the Ford Fund and personal contributions from Ford Motor Company CEO Bill Ford. This donation program supported projects in markets with significant coronavirus-related needs and a substantial number of Ford employees. Almost a third - 29 percent - of the funds went to anti-hunger efforts. The next highest percentage, 24 percent, went to projects that met a mix of basic human needs: food, shelter, and clothing, while educational efforts received 19 percent of the funding. The remaining donations supported health-related projects, along with efforts to keep arts programs virtually alive and preserve jobs at institutions that provide historical and cultural education. "This pandemic has impacted every aspect of our daily lives and has put many nonprofits at risk of not being able to serve their communities," said Mary Culler, president of the Ford Fund. "Thanks to the generosity of our collaborators, their families and friends, we were able to support various projects around the world and thus continue the work that these non-profit organizations are doing." The program was administered by GlobalGiving, Ford's partner for disaster relief and global grant awards. To date, the Ford Fund has invested nearly $ 3 million to support nonprofits in their efforts to address hunger, housing, mobility and other needs around the world.
  8. The cremation of corpses, a funeral rite that began to spread throughout Europe around 4,000 years ago, is a much older practice in the Middle East where, according to a study published today, Wednesday, in the journal PLOS ONE, the dead were already cremated ago 9000 years. The research, led by Fanny Bocquentin, from the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), has been carried out at the Neolithic site of Beisamoun, in northern Israel, where they have discovered an ancient cremation pit containing the remains of a corpse that appears to have been intentionally cremated as part of a funeral practice. The dating of the remains indicates that the body was cremated between 7013 and 6700 BC, making them the oldest known example of cremation in the Near East. The remains, which comprise the majority of a young adult skeleton, were cremated at over 500 ° C shortly after death, and lie inside a pit that appears to have been constructed with an open top and highly insulating walls. «The cremation 'in situ' is observed within a pyramidal fossa of a young individual who previously survived a wound by a flint projectile. In addition, the inventory of bones and their relative position shows that it is the deliberate deposit of an articulated corpse and not dislocated bones, ”says Bocquentin. Microscopic plant remains that served as fuel for the fire were also found inside the pit, which for scientists is the proof that confirms that it is the remains of an intentional cremation and not a burning of stubble or a accidental fire. This early cremation occurred in an important transitional period in funeral practices in this region of the world in which old traditions, such as the removal of the skull of the dead and burial within the settlement, began to disappear and new ones emerged, like the cremation of corpses. For researchers, this change in funeral customs could also mean a transition in the rituals surrounding death and the meaning of the deceased in society. A closer look at other possible cremation sites in the region will help shed light on this important cultural shift.
  9. However, the accumulated export figures show a decrease of 42.6 percent compared to the same period in 2019 when 102,759 units were exported. Let us remember that 2019 was a historic year in export. Five months after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in Mexican territory, ANPACT announced that, last July, the wholesale sale of heavy vehicles reached a total of 2,563 units, compared to the 1,971 registered in June 2020, represents an increase of 30.0 percent. Finally, during the first seven months of the year, wholesale sales totaled 11,874 vehicles, 56.3 percent less when compared to the 27,170 units sold during 2019. In this regard, Miguel Elizalde, executive president of ANPACT said that "the domestic market is still well below the levels prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2019 the monthly average of wholesale sales was 3,324 monthly units, that is, we are still 30 percent down, in the context of a crisis deeper than that of 2009. " According to the Basic Statistics of SCT 2019, Mexico has 800,000 motor vehicles with federal plates circulating on its streets and highways with an average of 18 years old. "If Mexico were to achieve its production potential, it would be possible simultaneously to halve the age of the fleet, lower emissions to less than half and generate double the number of jobs," said Elizalde. "Renewing the fleet has a multiplier effect on social well-being, since motor transport serves all sectors and practically all the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in a transversal way," he continued. "A new heavy vehicle reduces expenses, increases road safety and minimizes emissions. Well-being and reactivation in Mexico are based on heavy vehicles, so it is essential to implement measures that are reflected in the federation's budget for 2021 so that the reactivation don't just mean well, "concluded the business spokesperson.
  10. A total of 15,200 electrical discharges have fallen in the last 24 hours in Spain, of which 4,000 have been recorded between 9.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. in the central area, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which foresees intense storm activity and electric in the next few hours. AEMET spokesperson, Rubén del Campo, explained to Europa Press that a significant number of lightning strikes were recorded during the morning of this Tuesday, especially in Burgos, Valladolid, Segovia, Ávila, Madrid, Toledo and Ciudad Real, where they have dropped these 4,000 downloads. However, although he describes the morning of August 11 as abundant in lightning, he recalled that this volume is far from 2009, when several days were recorded with more than 60,000 daily lightning strikes and even one day more than 100,000 downloads were recorded. In this context, he has anticipated that this Tuesday afternoon the storms will continue to have great electrical activity, especially in Asturias and in the central area, where very heavy rains, hail and wind are expected and with an electrical device that will continue to be significant in particular in Madrid, Toledo, Ciudad Real, as well as in the north of Castilla y León and Asturias and Cantabria. Where more stormy activity is expected this afternoon is in Asturias and Castilla-La Mancha, he stressed. Looking ahead to this Wednesday, he has pointed out that the storms will be concentrated in the northern third and in the Iberian system and has expressly mentioned the north of Castilla y León, Cantabrian communities, Aragon and Valencian Community. Problems in Andalusia The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has raised to orange the warnings for rains and storms for this afternoon in the Sevillian countryside, until 10 pm, in a day in which up to fifteen incidents related to these phenomena have already occurred in the province, mainly centered in the municipality of Estepa, according to reports Emergencias 112 Andalucía. In its social networks, the emergency service highlights that most of the notices have been managed after 4:00 p.m. and have been related to flooding of homes, basements, accumulation of water on the road, at various points on the A- 92 and fall of branches. Also in other parts of Andalusia there have been notable incidents related to the storm. In Córdoba, the road that connects the city with the airport has been cut by the fall of a high voltage cable as a result of the strong storm, with a great electrical charge and a large hail, which has discharged for more than an hour .

  13. The Kings, the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofía arrived on Monday afternoon in the Mallorcan municipality of Petra (2,800 inhabitants) to pay tribute to Fray Junípero Serra, the Spanish Franciscan who, after decades of service in Spain, traveled to America to evangelize the indigenous people and whose statues have now suffered, in the United States and in Mallorca, the attacks of allegedly anti-racist violent movements. The youngest daughter of the Reyes, Sofia, arrived with a knee injury that was made the day before, after suffering a fall when tripping on a step, and they had to put five points. Doctors have recommended that she not bend her leg and, therefore, she helped herself with a crutch and with her sister, the Princess. Despite the injury, the Infanta did not want to miss the visit to Petra. In any case, it is a minor injury, which did not even require a visit to the hospital. Don Felipe, Doña Letizia and their daughters have been received by the neighbors with flags of Spain, the Balearic Islands and Fray Junípero, and cheers to the King and Spain. During the visit they are accompanied by many authorities, including the president of the Balearic Government, Francina Armengol; the Minister of Education, Isabel Celaá, and the Mayor of Petra, Salvador Femenías. The Royal Family plans to visit three emblematic places in the life of Fray Junípero: the Museum, the Natal House and the Sanctuary of the Madre de Dios de Bonay (good year, alluding to the rains that the Virgin brought after several seasons of drought ). This sanctuary is considered the last place where the Franciscan preached before leaving for America. When Junípero was a child, he would go to pray in this church before the images of the Virgin Our Lady of the Angels and other Saints, with whose names he later baptized his missions in California and that today are carried by many of the large American cities, such as Los Angeles , San Francisco, San Antonio, San Luis, San Diego or San Agustin. The Royal Family signed Fray Junípero Serra's book of honor in the Museum and, after highlighting the link it created between Spain, Mexico and the United States, added that it will be forever admired and valued. To this we add our commitment. This is not the first time that the Kings pay homage to the Spanish Franciscan. In 2013, as Princes, they visited the tomb of Fray Junípero, in California, and placed a laurel wreath with a bow with the colors of the flag of Spain on the burial mound. On that trip they also visited an exhibition about the Franciscan that dismantled a widespread belief in the United States. The sample showed that the Spanish did not eliminate the indigenous culture, but that it continued to exist afterwards. What the indigenous people could not survive was the gold rush, the colonization of the West and the accession of California to the United States, because they were displaced to very little productive lands and used in inhumane work systems. They lost all the protection they had during the mandates of Spain and Mexico. This visit to Petra is the first outing of the Royal Family this summer in Mallorca. The Kings and their daughters arrived on the island last Friday and will remain there until the 18th, when they will return to Madrid. During these days, the Kings will have an agenda full of official events and will visit Menorca and Ibiza.
  14. In the fifth race of the 2020 season, the strength of Mercedes fell. He did it thanks to the mischief of Red Bull, who in view of the difficulties of the 'silver arrows' with the wear of their tires on the asphalt of Silverstone (United Kingdom) opted for Verstappen to do his second qualifying round (Q2) with hard tires to go out with them in the race. The impetuous Max disguised himself as a strategist ... And won. He came out of fourth place, took the lead and held on with the starting wheels until the intermission of the test. He took as much distance as possible while the Mercedes struggled to conserve their tires, and protected himself by changing the tires when the Finn Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) threatened him passing by workshops. He imitated and surpassed him in a couple of curves, and went smoothly towards victory, to the chagrin of the Nordic, who came off the pole and finished third, and of the leader, the British Lewis Hamilton, who came back to be second. The tires that starred in last Sunday's test with punctures turned the second round at Silverstone into a hilarious race that puts a bit of pepper on the Formula One World Championship, of which Hamilton is a solid leader (107 points) but in which Verstappen is already 30 seconds behind (77). The Dutchman cooked his victory from the start, as before the first corner he had removed the German Nico Hülkenberg (Racing Point), the surprise of the classification with his third place on Saturday. Hamilton went for Bottas, but the Finnish poleman held his onslaught. Consistent with what had been seen over the weekend, the departure of German Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari was catastrophic. The four-time world champion, who started eleventh, reacted badly in the braking of the first corner and lost control of the rear axle of his car, which did a half-spin and was narrowly missed by Sainz and Kvyat. The role left him in last place and forced him to try the comeback. Meanwhile, Verstappen with the hard tire was getting closer and closer to Hamilton's Mercedes, which was trying to protect its medium tire as much as possible. Around the tenth lap he had it less than a second and the Dutchman could sharpen the knife, even against the advice of his own team, which begged him to delay the attack a bit. "It's the only chance we're going to have," replied the brave Red Bull driver. Hamilton suffered with his rear tires. "They're finished," he told the team over the radio, seconds before Verstappen began to attack him. Mercedes reacted by sending Bottas to the workshops to protect him from Verstappen's momentum, a very brief passage through workshops to put on the hard tire and finish sixth, behind the Racing Points and Renault of the Australian Daniel Ricciardo. Hamilton came in immediately and Verstappen took the lead when he was running lap 14. The World Championship leader came out behind Bottas and the Ferrari of Monegasque Charles Leclerc, sixth just ahead of Carlos Sainz, another who had opted for the hard tire and who took advantage of it to climb positions. The Monegasque's Ferrari, who was still guarding the initial tire, was no obstacle for Hamilton, who pulled it off effortlessly. Verstappen was starting to be a nightmare in the Mercedes garage, where they feared that their strategy would go to one stop. Meanwhile, the Dutchman scored a quick lap and allowed himself the luxury of wavering in radio communications. "My wheels feel good," Max told his engineers. For his part, Sainz, who was fourth until then, entered to change the tires and returned to meet the McLaren mole this season: the stops. The Madrilenian saw how a connection was hooked with his McLaren, which delayed his departure, and then he had to brake before leaving the garage because a Renault passed. A disaster for the papaya orange car, which after the pass was twelfth on medium tires, between Ricciardo and Vettel and far from where it should be. When the middle of the race came, Verstappen was still flying, putting 18 seconds on Bottas, enough time to make the stop. Red Bull fitted him with medium tires and he came out second, just behind the Finn, who he barely passed in a couple of corners, to the applause of the mechanics in his workshop. Smelling the victory, Verstappen put the direct, while between eighth and eleventh place there was a beautiful battle in which Ricciardo miscalculated and went off-track, while Vettel pressed Sainz mercilessly. He did not win the position on the track, but he did win at the stops, with a good maneuver from Ferrari and despite the fact that this time McLaren did not do such a bad job. It was not much use to any of them, because they finished twelfth and thirteenth. On lap 33, Mercedes took the initiative by calling Bottas to the workshops and Red Bull reacted by doing the same with Verstappen, so they both returned to the track in the same order, with Hamilton in front, suffering with his tires and constantly asking questions. for them to the workshop. With 15 laps to go, would Mercedes be able to gamble and try to reach the end with them? The unknown was resolved five laps later, when Mercedes called Hamilton to the workshops to put hard tires on him. The Briton came out fourth, behind Leclerc. At Red Bull they saw the sky open at that moment and Verstappen knew he had victory in his pocket. Hamilton came out ready to do ten qualifying laps, chaining his best times and including a very tight overtaking Leclerc to get on the podium. The insatiable World Cup leader also went for Bottas, who was also suffering with his tires, and ended up taking second place. But nothing altered the joy of Verstappen, who broke the Mercedes dictatorship and became the second-placed in the World Cup - 30 points behind Hamilton, yes - thanks to changing his momentum for a calculating and successful strategy.
  15. Experts underline the importance of research to find one or more vaccines against Covid-19, since it is the only therapy we have to eradicate this virus, while they estimate that the challenge after the pandemic will be to return to the situation of previous normality, something that can take a couple of years, at least. This has been highlighted in the cycle of webinars organized by the MySphera Chair at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). It is a series of digital talks that have brought together prominent personalities and professionals from various entities and companies in the health and technology sector, both nationally and internationally, during the months of June and July. One of the most repeated ideas throughout these meetings, as reported by the Polytechnic to Europa Press, has been the "ferocity and virulence" of this pandemic. If anyone was prepared, raise your hand. This was a thing from science fiction books and catastrophic movies. I helped to draft the disaster plan for the Vall d'Hebrón Hospital; In it, we visualize all kinds of situations, from plane crashes, terrorist attacks, massive poisonings, accidents of all kinds, fires, but nobody imagined that a pandemic of this style could arrive. Our pandemic model is the flu of every year and it is more than clear that what we are experiencing has nothing to do with seasonal flu, declares Juan Antonio Hueto, coordinator of Surgical Processes of the Hospitals of the Catalan Institute of Health. Decapitalization of the health system Hueto affirms that the pandemic has made us see that the Spanish health system was not as strong as we thought, due, among other reasons, to the decapitalization to which it has been subjected in recent years. It also regrets the lack of quick decisions against the virus as well as the lack of support from society or the lack of protection to which the elderly have been subjected. Now, the challenge that we have to face in this post-war of the Covid is to return to the previous situation of normality. And this will take us a couple of years, at the very least, he predicts. To return to that normality, during these webinars the importance of the vaccine was emphasized, "the only therapy we have to eradicate this virus or at least bring it to levels that are manageable by the different health systems and by the global economy", Hueto pointed out. The vaccine, the solution to the problem And José Pagan, Professor of Public Health at New York University and Director of the Governing Board of the New York City Hospital System, expressed himself in the same vein. The specialist says that he gets up every day wanting to open his eyes and see that it was all a dream, horrible, yes, but a dream. In his opinion, the management - and the impact - of Covid-19 worldwide has been very uneven and the politics, ideology and culture of each country have significantly influenced this heterogeneity of models. And about the vaccine, he is resounding in asking leaders to convey a very clear message of its importance as a solution to this problem. »The New York University professor also assures that Covid-19 has caused a technological revolution that has no turning back and that it will remain rooted in the system. For example, I think telemedicine is here to stay. This pandemic has also opened the doors to other technologies, such as the use of apps to analyze and manage the spread of the virus; and even others that will allow hospitals to be more efficient and work better, by reducing the number of patients that can meet in one place, organize the flow of people, organize appointments, etc., points out Pagán. Digital transformation Now, at least in the case of Spain, during these webinars it became clear the need for a digital transformation of our healthcare, which goes beyond teleconsultation. A transformation that has a triple axis of improvement, according to Julio Jesús Sánchez, from the Telefónica Group. In recent years, Sánchez has led the Digital Health project team and focuses his activity on directing projects for the digital transformation of health, telemedicine and the privacy of health data. In his opinion, this digital transformation focuses first on patient satisfaction, because with this transformation there will be patients whose approach to the health system will be more comfortable. It also has to do with your own health - it is scientifically proven that there are remote interventions that help improve your health. And it is also related to efficiency when using resources. At all three levels, digital transformation is key, says Julio Jesús Sánchez. Germán Gutiérrez (Integrated Health Solutions Business Director) and Jorge Posada (IHS Innovation Portfolio Manager; Project Manager ACTIVAGE) spoke in this same sense. In his opinion, it has become clear the great future and present opportunity that digitization represents, to improve services, health and safety results and the experience of patients and professionals while keeping costs at manageable levels. Tracking apps On what tools are key to responding to a pandemic, Julio Jesús Sánchez referred, among others, to tracking apps: “The WHO should have had them from the first moment, but it was not like that and Apple and Google, the administrations of different countries etc had to develop their applications fast and running. As it is about being more alert for the next pandemic - because they happen, it is something inherent in human biology - the tracking app should be ready by then, "he added. If there is clear evidence that the global health crisis leaves in its wake, it is the need to evolve. A necessary progress both at the social level and in a sector that has been key in the most critical moments of the pandemic, health. A situation that has highlighted the inevitable progress that we must carry out hand in hand with digitization and technology. Elements that until now we have had at our fingertips, but that, in many areas, such as healthcare, have not been fully exploited, concludes Vicente Traver, director of the SABIEN-ITACA group of the Polytechnic University and co-organizer of these meetings .
  16. The Finnish Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas beat his British teammate Lewis Hamilton and won the pole position in the qualifying session of the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, which will allow him to start first in the race this Sunday at the circuit of Silverstone (UK). Bottas' best time, achieved on their last attempt on medium tires, was 1: 25.154, 63 thousandths faster than his teammate's. The Finn got his second pole of this season after the one obtained in Austria, the thirteenth of his career. Third place went to the surprising Racing Point of the German Nico Hülkenberg, who had already set the second fastest time in Q2 and finished third just under a second in the final session, ahead of the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull ), fourth. Australian Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) was fifth, followed by Canadian Lance Stroll (Racing Point), Frenchman Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri), Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Thai Alexander Albon (Red Bull) and Englishman Lando Norris (McLaren), who closed the top ten. The four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), who will start in twelfth place, and the Spanish Carlos Sainz (McLaren), thirteenth, were left out of Q3.
  17. Emilio R. M. arrived a month ago in the town of Chapineria by the hand of his partner, Africa F. C. Soon, the residents of the quiet municipality of the western mountains nicknamed him El Loco. Because of its pints and because it is conflictive, they assured ABC. Apparently they were not wrong. This Friday, during the statement before the Homicide investigators of the Civil Guard, he has accused himself and confessed to the macabre crime, as this newspaper has learned. The Civil Guard detained him on Thursday, around one o'clock in the afternoon, as the alleged perpetrator of the murder of his mother-in-law, Marisa C. V., who was dismembered and half buried in an oak grove on the Camino de Las Maderas. Emilio has a record, at least, of gender violence and attacks against authority. On him, in addition, weighs a restraining order of 500 meters from Africa, the young daughter of the deceased, also detained as a co-author, a qualification that could vary. They both skipped it to go live together. It is not ruled out that the list of police reviews grows as the investigation progresses. She, for her part, has availed herself of her right not to testify. Both will spend Saturday at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 1 of Navalcarnero. According to the testimony of Africa, they met only nine months ago and went to live as squatters. The lack of income and shelter was what led them, at the end of June, to knock on the door of their mother's house. Marisa, 70, opened them without knowing that this would be her end. The screaming, fighting, and arguing were going on inside, practically daily. Have we ever heard how she told her mother that she was going to kill her, said the neighbors, shocked but not surprised by the fatal outcome. Despite the fact that the septuagenarian did not relate to anyone in the locality, where she had lived for two decades, she was well known for the fights with her two daughters and her problems with alcohol, an addiction that Africa would also share, 34 years old, and Emilio, 38. He has tattoos all over his torso, neck, arms and a black tear under his eye, a prison symbol that in some cultures means that a murder has been committed. The last day Marisa was seen alive, July 25, the three of them were drinking on the terraces of the Eloy Gonzalo Square, the meeting point of the residents. They passed from one to another. Marisa pay, Emilio always said. It was the deceased who bore all the expenses of the couple and the house and the one who, according to Africa, also gave them money to survive. For this reason, the Homicide agents of the Civil Guard in charge of the investigation point to an economic motive as a possible motive for the crime. When the bars closed, Marisa, Africa and Emilio, who had already had discussions in public, brought the celebration back to their chalet. Before being arrested, the daughter told the Benemérita that she went to sleep and did not know what had happened next. The next day when I didn't see her at home I thought she had left, she continued. The agents did not believe her, in fact, they think that that was the fatal night. In the house, blood was found on the fabric of the sofa that someone had tried to change and a tool, a kind of key, with biological remains that could be the murder weapon. It is being investigated if they belong to Marisa and if they beat her to death. Marisa's eldest daughter, with the same name, was the one who raised the alarm days later. On the 28th she filed a disappearance complaint after trying unsuccessfully to contact her mother on several occasions. Africa gave him the same excuse: that he had left, but something did not fit. Two days later, she returned to the barracks to expand it and to focus suspicions on El Loco, who was the main suspect since the remains of the selicityagenarian were found. A neighbor who was walking his dog Tuesday night along the Camino de las Maderas was the one who found a foot sticking out of the dry dirt of the trail. The first to move were the agents of the Navas del Rey barracks and, later, the Homicide group of the Madrid Command, which found more remains of Marisa with almost no epithelial tissue due to the high degree of decomposition it presented. The body parts were distributed and half-buried in plastic bags at different points in the holm oak grove. What they are still looking for is the head of the ill-fated woman, which has not appeared and may be the key to knowing exactly how she died. Hours before her arrest, in front of television cameras, Africa proclaimed her innocence. I swear to God I had nothing to do with it, she said. .
  18. The Civil Guard arrested the daughter of the woman dismembered in Chapineria as a co-author of the murder this Thursday afternoon. Africa's arrest occurred after the search of the house that she shared with her mother and boyfriend for a month, nicknamed El Loco and shackled this morning as the main perpetrator of the crime, was completed. As ABC has learned, the family chalet is the scene in which the investigators place the crime. The relationship between Africa and Marisa, the dismembered 70-year-old woman, was anything but cordial. Neighbors told this newspaper that the fights and discussions were constant, especially since she returned to the small town in the western mountains with her boyfriend. We once heard how he told her that he was going to kill her, said other residents, after learning of the discovery of the human remains of the septuagenarian half buried in an oak grove in the town. The first version that the arrested person gave to the agents was that the alleged night of the murder, on July 25, the three were drinking alcohol on the ground floor of the house. At dawn, she went up to sleep and left El Loco with her mother. She does not know what happened next inside number 2 Calle del Pozo Airón. The agents did not believe her and, after collecting evidence against her during the search, they proceeded to arrest. For his part, her boyfriend was detained while the house was being inspected. She was not inside, but the agents had located her since she was the main suspect from the first moment. After finding evidence, and facing the risk of flight, they proceeded to arrest. They have transferred him to the dungeons of the Comandancia de Tres Cantos, where a statement will be taken. Family conflicts and, specifically, a fight for economic reasons is investigated as a motive for the crime. The macabre discovery, just a 500-meter walk from the family home, occurred on Tuesday night, around nine o'clock. It was a neighbor, who was walking his dog through the holm oak grove, who discovered a foot sticking out of the ground. He immediately raised the alarm. At first, agents from the Navas del Rey barracks and, finally, the La Benemérita Homicide group traveled to the place. The agents found more remains, among which is not the head, scattered around the land and wrapped in plastic bags.

  20. Chinese authorities released Zhang Yuhuan, a man who has been incarcerated for nearly 27 years for a crime that - the Asian country's judicial system concluded - did not commit on Tuesday, making the former convict the victim of the longest erroneous sentence on record. in the Asian country. He was 25 years old and now 52. Married with two children, one has now met him in person, upon leaving the prison. His wife divorced and started a new family The Higher People's Court of Southeast Jiangxi Province decided to release Zhang because his 1993 sentence for the alleged murder of two children was based on unclear facts and insufficient evidence, online publication Sixth Tone reported today. Zhang, who was a carpenter before entering prison, returned to his home in Jiangxi capital Nanchang on Tuesday, after remaining behind bars for 9,778 days. I was a young man then and now I'm an old man, ”Zhang said to his wife before the sentence, according to local paper The Paper. However, I want to thank the authorities for restoring my innocence and doing justice. Police arrested Zhang in October 1993 for the alleged murder of two children, and two years later, the Nanchang Intermediate People's Court sentenced him to a suspended death sentence for two years. The sentenced appealed, an appeal that did not prosper until last Tuesday. Ask for a million dollar compensation According to Zhang's defense, the family will try to obtain compensation of 7 million yuan (1 million dollars or 849,153 euros), although he considered it a "very difficult" objective given "the lack of will of the judiciary to initiate surrender proceedings of accounts and hold the officials involved accountable. " "Even if they pay me, I can't buy 27 years of youth," said Zhang, whose wife divorced him years ago and started a new family. Of their two children, one visited him twice in prison over the age of 27, while the other saw him in person for the first time on Tuesday. Chinese justice, which does not operate independently of the executive or legislative branches, has a defendant's sentencing rate of around 99%, according to 2013 data from the China Legal Yearbook. Furthermore, according to international human rights organizations, during periods of detention awaiting trial, torture is customary in order to forcibly extract a confession that will later be presented to the courts.
  21. For this, this project will use a fleet of H2 Xcient hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks, each of which saves around 65 tons of CO2 per year. Likewise, another commercial partner, Hydrospider, will be in charge of producing the hydrogen. Hydrospider is a joint venture created by H2 Energy, Swiss energy service provider Alpiq and global engineering and gas company Linde. At the same time as Hydrospider increases its hydrogen production, Hyundai is manufacturing a fleet of H2 Xcient fuel cell trucks. Fuel cell technology is particularly suitable for the transport of goods, due to its wide autonomy and short fuel refueling times compared to the technology of electric battery vehicles (BEV). Also, fuel cells and hydrogen tanks do not weigh as much as the batteries needed to move an electric truck. Dual fuel cell systems provide enough power for heavy trucks to drive through the mountains of Switzerland as normal. Each H2 Xcient Fuel Cell truck is powered by a 190 kW (256 hp equivalent) hydrogen fuel cell system thanks to a dual 95 kW (127 hp) fuel cell system. Seven large hydrogen tanks offer a total storage capacity of about 34 kg of fuel. The autonomy is approximately 400 km. Refueling takes about 10-15 minutes, a time comparable to that of internal combustion vehicles. Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility will rent the trucks to fleet operators through a pay-as-you-go system, which means there is no risk or up-front investment for transport companies. 15 trucks are needed for a fuel station to be profitable. By using hydrogen vehicles to transport goods, Hyundai ensures a stable demand for fuel. And through the production of industrial hydrogen, Hydrospider ensures a constant supply. This is the basis of the business example, which makes hydrogen mobility economically viable and capable of growth. Through this process, Hyundai will gradually build a hydrogen infrastructure in Switzerland. The configuration of the fuel supply infrastructure for trucks with stations operating at 350 bars also opens the possibility of extending the network for passenger cars. Fuel cell cars are refueled at a pressure of 700 bar, therefore these refueling solutions can be added to the existing network in a cost-effective way. Access to adequate hydrogen refueling infrastructure will reduce range anxiety (and anxiety about autonomy) and encourage more people to buy hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. As more people switch to green mobility options, carbon emissions will decrease, improving air quality.
  22. After concluding yesterday the political course with the traditional press conference to take stock of these seven months of legislature, the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, is preparing to spend a few days on vacation in Lanzarote. Neither the outbreaks of contagion due to coronaviruses that cause so much concern to health authorities nor the announcement by King Don Juan Carlos to leave Spain have prevented the head of the Executive from moving to Lanzarote, as in previous summers. Specifically, the socialist leader will use for one week, until August 11, the official residence of La Mareta. That Sánchez stays here arouses more interest this year, since this residence is a donation that Don Juan Carlos made to National Heritage in the late 1980s. After several weeks weeks pressuring the King's House to force a gesture by Don Juan Carlos and with his vice president Pablo Iglesias systematically attacking the Monarchy, the chief executive will spend his holidays in a residence that the Royal Family itself has used in occasions. The house-palace of La Mareta began to be built in the late seventies by order of King Hussein of Jordan, although he would never stay there, and in 1989 he decided to cede it to the then King Don Juan Carlos, so that it became part National Heritage. It is a modern palace-house designed by the artist César Manrique. This complex has been used for years as an occasional residence for the Royal Family on vacation, and it had also been used by former presidents José María Aznar and José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. Foreign leaders have also stayed there. The first was former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, during the Spanish-German summit in May 1992. Former President of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev and his wife Raisa have also rested in La mareta. In 2015, King Don Felipe decided to put the residence at the service of Spain's tourist interests. The then Minister of Tourism, José Manuel Soria, said that the idea was that international leaders or figures from the world of culture could stay there and contribute to the Marca España.
