Auto sector in Pakistan is in hot waters since the last couple of years however the Fiscal Year 2019-20 turned out to be worse than expected. Sales of locally assembled passenger cars witnessed a 53% decline in sales during FY2019-20 due to slowdown in economic activities, higher interest rates, constantly rising car prices & towards the end, due to coronavirus pandemic which virtually put car sales at a halt.However the automaker which seems to have suffered the most in these times is Honda Atlas, the sales of which reduced by 63% during last fiscal year. Honda sells three locally assembled products here– the Civic, City and BR-V, cumulative sales of which stood at 44,234 units in FY2018-19, however in FY2019-20 the sales got reduced to 16,387 units rendering a deplorable 63% decline. Not only that the sales got drastically reduced, the company posted an alarming Rs 511 million quarterly loss for the period ending June 2020. Still the combined sales for the duo saw 39,189 units in FY2018-19 which shrunk to 14,091 units in FY2019-20 witnessing a 64% decline. Google has launched a beta version of its Recommendations AI tool, which aims to help retailers offer much more personalized recommendations to their customers. The artificial intelligence aspect of the tool lets Recommendations AI produce results based on an individual’s search history and web browsing habits.Google has reported that trials carried out by early adopters of Recommendations AI produced improved sales thanks to the more individualized customer experience. Retailers can hone the service using a raft of recommendation models, pulling in data from other Google Cloud services, including Merchant Center, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 360 and BigQuery. The resulting recommendation models can be trained to produce more tailored results in just two to five days and be subsequently used to serve out the personalised experience to retail customers. AMD's Renoir SOC has just got its first legitimate platform block diagram leaked courtesy of the venerable Igor over at Igor's Lab. The source in question has a spotless track record with leaks and we have no reason to doubt the legitimacy of the slide. The AMD Renoir SoC block diagram (for the mobility platform) reveals that dedicated GPUs will only have access to 8 lanes of PCIe 3.0 which could run high-end GPUs into a bandwidth bottleneck (think RTX 2060 Super and above). AMD Renoir 'mobility' SoC utilizes only 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes for discrete graphics, could turn the tide towards Intel TGL-based gaming laptops in the high-end segment : Interestingly, this limitation does not apply to desktop (AM4-based) Renoir SOC as confirmed by Robert Hallock. The reason appears to be that while the AM4-based platform has access to 16 lanes of PCIe 3.0, the mobility platform is using a crippled version of the SoC for energy efficiency purposes and will only be able to utilize 8 lanes for a dedicated GPU. This amount of bandwidth is enough for GPUs up to a RTX 2060 Super (which is the limit) and might explain why all the configurations of AMD Renoir laptops we saw topped out at an NVIDIA RTX 2060. Most pertinently perhaps, this is something that could turn the tide of high-end gaming laptops to Intel's camp once again. On July 8, 21TB of open source data was successfully deposited in GitHub’s Arctic Code Vault, housed within the Arctic World Archive in a remote part of Norway.Secured for future generations, the data pool captures a snapshot of active public repositories on GitHub, a platform used by 50 million developers to collaborate on open source projects.As part of the GitHub Archive Program, the data was written to 186 reels of digital photosensitive archival film (courtesy of GitHub partner Piql), built to last for centuries. GitHub Arctic Code Vault : Each reel contains a guide, translated into five different languages, describing the necessary technical information and cultural context of the data.The Arctic World Archive is situated in the Svalbard Archipelago, Noway - home to the northernmost town in the world. The facility is a stone’s throw away from the Global Seed Vault, where almost one million seed varieties are stored, for use in an apocalypse scenario.Described as a “digital embassy”, the archive is housed in the side of permafrost arctic mountains and is built to withstand both natural and man-made disasters, guaranteeing the long-term preservation of the valuable digital artifacts stored within.These assets include digitized versions of famous painting The Scream by Edvard Munch, epic poem The Divine Comedy and various other works of cultural significance. The frosty conditions mean the data stored will not degrade as quickly as in other climates, but Svalbard’s islands have also been declared a demilitarized zone by 42 nations, which means the files are also protected in the event of war.The 21TB addition marks the second time GitHub has contributed a repository to its Arctic Code Vault, with the first having taken place in November when the project was announced.“Our mission is to preserve open source software for future generations by storing your code in an archive built to last a thousand years,” reads the GitHub blog post. The Arctic Code Vault is only a small part of the wider GitHub Archive Program, however, which sees the company partner with the Long Now Foundation, Internet Archive, Software Heritage Foundation, Microsoft Research and others.The group’s pledge is to protect the world’s open source software by storing and refreshing multiple copies, in various formats and across multiple locations.“There is a long history of lost technology from which the world would have benefited, as well as abandoned technologies which found unexpected new uses, from Roman concrete, or the anti-malarial DFDT, to the hunt for mothballed Saturn V blueprints,” reads the project website.“It is easy to envision a future in which today’s software is seen as a quaint and long-forgotten irrelevancy, until an unexpected need for it arises.”

Both APUs are part of the AMD Ryzen 4000 Renoir PRO series family which will be launching next week on the 21st of July as we had exclusively reported earlier this month. AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G 6 Core & Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G 4 Core Renoir APU Benchmarks Leak Out : Just like the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G flagship Renoir APU, the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G and the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G will be featuring the updated Zen 2 cores and the Vega graphics architecture, all on a single monolithic die. The main difference comes in the core configuration with the latter featuring a lower number of cores on both CPU and GPU side. The following are the specifications for both Renoir APUs.The AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G is a Zen 2 APU featuring 6 cores and 12 threads. The APU has clocks configured at 3.7 GHz base and 4.3 GHz boost. The CPU featured 6 MB of L3 cache and has a TDP of 65W. The GPU side comes with Vega 7 integrated graphics that support 448 cores running at a clock speed of up to 1900 MHz. When compared to the Ryzen 5 3600X, the Matisse CPU has to offer a 3.8 GHz base and a 4.4 GHz boost clock. That's a 2% increase in both base and boost clocks over the Renoir APU. The Ryzen 5 3600X also features a higher TDP of 95W which will allow it to sustain higher clock speeds for long durations compared to the Renoir APU. The AMD Ryzen 5 3600X currently costs around $219.99 US while the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G is expected to hit a price point close to $249 US or lower. Regardless, the AMD Ryzen 4000 Renoir APUs come with an integrated graphics solution that is much better than what Intel offers on its current line of processors. In addition to that, we've seen some impressive overclocking capabilities of the Renoir APU lineup that should lead them to offer better performance than their Matisse siblings. "We will continue to fight for justice for Kashmiris as they struggle against the brutal & illegal actions of the Hindutva Supremacist Indian govt in IOJK," he said. "We reaffirm our commitment to the Kashmiri people and stand with them in their struggle for self-determination."Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that July 19 marked the day when "true representatives of Jammu and Kashmir adopted a historic resolution for accession to Pakistan"."Despite decades of Indian occupation, resolve of Kashmiris & immutable bonds to [Pakistan] stand strong," he said, adding that the country "reaffirms unwavering support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for freedom".
