The US will send 31 powerful battle tanks to Ukraine, joining Germany in sending the vehicles to support the fight against Russia's invasion. The decision to deliver the M1 Abrams tanks was announced just hours after Germany said it would send 14 of its Leopard 2 tanks to the battlefield. Berlin also cleared the way for other European countries to send German-made tanks from their own stocks. Ukraine has lobbied Western allies to send the military equipment for months. It hailed the twin announcements as a potential turning point that would allow its military to regain momentum and take back occupied territory. It also said the tanks could help deter a potential Russian offensive in the spring. "An important step on the path to victory," Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said. "Today the free world is united as never before for a common goal - liberation of Ukraine." Russia, meanwhile, condemned the moves as a "blatant provocation" and said any supplied tanks would be destroyed. "These tanks burn like all the rest. They are just very expensive," President Vladimir Putin's spokesman said earlier. LIVE: Follow updates and analysis President Joe Biden announced the US decision in brief remarks at the White House on Wednesday. "[Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin] has recommended this step because it enhances Ukraine's capacity to defend its territory and achieve strategic objectives," he said. "We're also giving Ukraine the parts and equipment necessary to effectively sustain these tanks in battle," Mr Biden said. "This is about helping Ukraine defend and protect Ukrainian land. It is not an offensive threat to Russia." A Ukrainian tank battalion typically consists of 31 tanks, which is why that number has been agreed upon, Mr Biden said. The US decision marks a reversal, as the Biden administration had insisted the heavy M1 Abrams tanks would be difficult to deliver and challenging for Ukrainian troops to operate. The US tank is one of the most modern battle tanks in the world and requires extensive training to operate. The Leopard 2 is also widely seen as one of the most effective battle tanks available. The $400m (£323m) American package also includes eight recovery vehicles that can tow the tanks if they become stuck. But it is likely to be many months before the US-made tanks reach the battlefield, experts say, and it is unclear if they will be taken from an existing stockpile or built as new for Ukraine. The German-made Leopard 2 tanks, however, will be drawn from an existing stock and are expected to arrive in two to three months. The decision to send the heavy weapons follows weeks of diplomatic wrangling. Germany had faced mounting international pressure to send tanks, but there was speculation that any decision to do so would be conditional on the US doing the same. Both sides participated in "good diplomatic conversations" that made the difference and contributed to the "extraordinary shift in Germany's security policy", a senior US official said on condition of anonymity earlier on Wednesday. Ukrainian crews would soon be trained to use the Leopard tanks in Germany, officials in Berlin said. Mr Biden said troops would be trained to use the American-made tanks "as soon as possible" but added delivering them would "take time". While the acquisition of tanks from the West will be considered a diplomatic coup for President Volodymyr Zelensky, he said on Tuesday that his country required at least 300 of them to defeat Russia. Several European countries have Leopard 2 tanks in their stocks, and the German decision means some of these can also be sent to Ukraine. Germany hopes around 90 will ultimately be delivered to the battlefield. link: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-64404928

Washington says its priority is to support a credible process that leads to a just and lasting solution to the Sahara dispute. Rabat - Michele Sison, the US Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, and former American Ambassador to Haiti, has reiterated US’ support for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan, describing it as a “serious, credible and realistic solution” to the dispute over the Western Sahara. Sison made the statement on the sidelines of a press briefing following her meeting in Rabat today with Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita. Sison’s meeting with Bourita focused on the US' support for the UN Secretary-Envoy General Staffan de Mistura’s efforts in leading the UN political process in Western Sahara, Sison explained. MFA Nasser Bourita received, today in Rabat, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, Ambassador Michele Sison.@SecBlinken pic.twitter.com/XM8DduCH1A — Moroccan Diplomacy 🇲🇦 (@Marocdiplo_EN) January 25, 2023 “We discussed our strong support for MINURSO's peacekeeping efforts and their critical role in maintaining the conditions for the UN-led peace process,” Sison said. The assistant secretary highlighted that the US' priority is to support a credible process that leads to a just and lasting solution to the Sahara dispute, which has the backing of the international community. The US recognized Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over Western Sahara in December 2020. The recognition has further strengthened ties between the two countries in a wide range of sectors, including trade, security cooperation, among others. During her visit, Sison also commended King Mohammed VI’s efforts in supporting peace and security in the MENA region and around the world. “We greatly appreciate the role of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in supporting peace and security in the Middle East and North Africa, and around the world,” she said. “This meeting was also an opportunity to discuss Morocco’s recent election to the UN Human Rights Council and the importance of human rights.” In October 2022, Morocco was elected to serve on the Human Rights Council for three years, starting on January 1, 2023. Sisou also praised Morocco's contributions to UN peacekeeping missions around the world, such as MONUSCO and MINUSCA. The US is joining the growing chorus of countries supporting Morocco’s autonomy plan. In October 2022, the government of Belgium expressed its support for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan, considering it as a “good basis” to end the dispute over Western Sahara. Echoing Belgium's stance, Germany’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock reconfirmed in August 2022 that Germany considers Morocco’s Autonomy Plan for the Sahara region as a good foundation for a mutually solution to the dispute. link: https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/01/353717/western-sahara-us-reiterates-support-for-moroccos-autonomy-plan

When Boris Johnson was prime minister, he was offered a loan of up to £800,000 to top up his income. We found this out last week, when details of the loan, and allegations the BBC's chairman, Richard Sharp, was involved in arranging it, surfaced following a report by the Sunday Times. Mr Sharp denies being involved in any loan, while Mr Johnson says his financial interests have been properly declared. But why would Mr Johnson need a loan this big in the first place? Those who know Mr Johnson say they weren't surprised by the size of it. One source who worked with Mr Johnson in Downing Street said the former prime minister was not an "extravagant person" but that amount of money was "not a lot" to sustain his lifestyle during his premiership. Boris Johnson writing memoir about his time as PM Boris Johnson's office receives £1m donation Johnson makes £1m from speeches since leaving office During his time at Number 10, there was speculation Mr Johnson was short of cash to cover childcare and divorce costs, among other bills. 'Income plummeted' When he first became prime minister, in July 2019, he claimed a total salary of £154,908, on top of other sources of income. That's far above the median UK pay packet, which was £33,000 in 2021. There is no doubt Mr Johnson had to take a big pay cut when he gained high office, first as foreign secretary in 2016, and again when he became prime minister in 2019. "His income plummeted," says Andrew Gimson, author of Boris Johnson: The Rise and Fall of a Troublemaker at Number 10. "So it's not surprising that he decided the best thing to do was to borrow the money, as he expected his earning power to be large once he stopped being prime minister." It's true that, before becoming prime minister, Mr Johnson had a lucrative career as a journalist, a public speaker and a TV personality. One major source of income was his gig as a columnist for the Daily Telegraph newspaper. Between July 2018 and July 2019, he was paid £22,916.66 a month by the newspaper, for what he said was 10 hours work. Parliamentary records show he pocketed tens of thousands of pounds in fees for writing books, penning articles in publications - such as The Spectator, the political magazine he used to edit - and making speeches at events. In total, Mr Johnson's employment and earnings added up to about £800,000 in the 2017-2019 session of Parliament. 'Properly declared' If that figure looks familiar, it's the same value of the loan reported by the Sunday Times. A spokesperson for Mr Johnson told the newspaper he withdrew far less than £800,000 from the loan, which was described as a credit facility. Sam Blyth - a multimillionaire Canadian businessman and distant cousin of Mr Johnson - is reported to have raised the idea of acting as a guarantor for the loan. This means he would guarantee the money would be paid back if Mr Johnson did not meet the repayments. Mr Johnson has not revealed who was offering to lend him the money. But a spokesperson for the former PM said: "All Mr Johnson's financial arrangements have been properly declared and registered on the advice of officials." As for how the money was used, the Sunday Times says the funds helped Mr Johnson finance day-to-day expenses and his lifestyle as PM. One bill that came in during his premiership was for the refurbishment of the flat above 11 Downing Street, where he lived with his wife, Carrie Johnson, and their children. Divorce settlement Mr Johnson had to stump up £52,000 to reimburse a Conservative Party donor who had initially paid for a designer revamp of the Downing Street flat. Add to this a reported multi-million pound divorce settlement with his second wife Marina Wheeler, with whom he has four children, in 2020. In the past, Mr Johnson has complained about his financial position. When he was the mayor of London in 2009, he told the BBC his £250,000 a year salary from the Telegraph was "chicken feed", adding he made "a substantial donation to charity". Then, in October 2017, when he was foreign secretary, the Sunday Times reported he had told a friend he was running out of money and could not afford to live on £141,505 because of his "extensive family responsibilities". Given these financial pressures, one of Mr Johnson's former staffers said it was sensible for a sitting prime minister not to be worrying about their financial stability. Mr Gimson echoed that view, saying "it's not new for Boris to be living or earning at a rate that most of us can only dream of". The author said while Mr Johnson was "very keen on making large amounts of money", he was personally known to be "quite frugal". The loan, Mr Gimson said, suggests Mr Johnson "hoped to be prime minister for a lot longer than he was". Now he's left office, Mr Johnson is entitled to claim an allowance of up to £115,000, as all former prime ministers are. But the Liberal Democrats say Mr Johnson should be stripped of the allowance until he answers questions about his financial arrangements while he was prime minister. "We know he's only interested in following the money, so it's time to hit him where it hurts - his wallet," said Wendy Chamberlain, party's the chief whip. link: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-64392524

Diver Yosuke Tanaka swam with a giant squid in the Sea of Japan near Toyooka City in Hyogo Prefecture. A diver in Japan swam alongside an unusual companion earlier this month: An 8.2-foot-long (2.5 meter) giant squid. Yosuke Tanaka, who co-runs Dive Resort T-Style with his wife in Toyooka City, Japan, got the opportunity on Jan. 6 when a local ferryman called him to say that there was a large squid swimming near the surface off the coast in the Sea of Japan. Tanaka hurried over, he wrote on his blog(opens in new tab), and was rewarded with a close-up encounter with one of the ocean's most mysterious creatures. It was the first time he'd ever swum with a giant squid (Architeuthis dux), Tanaka told Live Science in an email. "I felt a little scared because it was so big," he said. Related: Giant squid filmed alive for second time in history. Here's the video. Giant squid typically live in the deep ocean, so they're often only seen as corpses washed ashore or as accidental bycatch in fishing nets. They can grow to 40 to 45 feet (12 to 14 meters) long, a size even more incredible considering that the animals likely only live about five years in the wild, according to the Smithsonian Institution(opens in new tab). Their elusive nature means little is known about their daily lives or mating habits, though investigations of their guts reveal that they eat fish and other squid. They're also often found in the stomachs of sperm whales, indicating that they aren't just hunters, but are also hunted. Though most people won't get a chance to swim alongside a giant squid, Tanaka's encounter was not so surprising to squid scientists. "It's unusual any place other than where they saw it," said Michael Vecchione(opens in new tab), a zoologist and cephalopod expert at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. "Actually, in the Sea of Japan it turns out that it's fairly common to see giant squids at this time of year." Japanese zoologist Tsunemi Kubodera, who captured the first photographs and video of living giant squid in their native habitats, has documented large numbers of giant squid between January and March in the coastal waters of the Sea of Japan. In a 2016 paper(opens in new tab), Kubodera and his colleagues reported finding 57 giant squid in just those three months, 28 of which were alive. The squid, unfortunately, do not fare well in this region at this time of year. According to Kubodera's research, the squid travel through the Tsushima Strait between South Korea and Japan as part of their typical north-south migration. Those that time the migration wrong, however, get trapped by cold water at the depths where they usually swim. "When that happens, they can't stay in the really deep water that they usually stay in," Vecchione told Live Science. "They come up close to the surface, and then the surface water gets cold. When you see them up close to the surface, they're not healthy." Tanaka's video shows a squid in rough shape, said Sarah McAnulty(opens in new tab), a squid biologist who runs a Squid Facts hotline ( Text "SQUID!" to 1-833-724-8398) and the executive director of Skype a Scientist(opens in new tab), a science outreach program. "You can tell this squid is approaching the end of its life by looking at its skin," McAnulty told Live Science in an email. "A healthy giant squid should have smooth shiny skin and be kinda red. This poor thing has been through it!" Tanaka said he swam near the squid for about a half-hour. The squid was swimming slowly, he said, but was trying to move away from him. Though giant squid have a fearsome reputation in literature — think "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" by French writer Jules Verne — the chance of anyone being attacked by a giant squid is extremely small, Vecchione said. The only encounters with humans tend to be when people poke or prod at the squid, as in a 2017 incident(opens in new tab) caught on video when a surfer lassoed an injured juvenile squid, which then wrapped its tentacles around the surfboard. No humans were injured. link: https://www.livescience.com/swimming-with-giant-squid-japan

A report by Automotive News suggests Nissan might build a small EV pickup to appeal to a new segment of customers. Nissan might build a small electric pickup truck for the U.S. market, according to a report by Automotive News. Last year, the automaker teased the idea with the Nissan Surf-Out concept, a futuristic-looking EV truck. With the full-size Nissan Titan expected to get axed in the near future, a small EV truck could open new doors. Nissan currently only sells the mid-size Frontier and the full-size Titan on American shores. With the Titan struggling to sell even half as well as domestic pickup-truck stalwarts such as the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500, it's only a matter of time until Nissan puts its half-ton truck and heavier-duty XD sibling out to pasture. However, a report by Automotive News suggests the Japanese automaker is considering building a small electric pickup for the U.S. that might not only help offset the Titan's inevitable death but also appeal to new types of customers. Tyler Slade, chairman of the Nissan Dealer Advisory Board, told AN that dealers want the company to build a mid-size electric truck. He also said it would be logical for Nissan to build an EV pickup similar to the Frontier model. That idea makes sense since the mid-size truck has consistently sold considerably better than the Titan. This isn't the first time there have been hints at the idea of Nissan building a light-duty electric truck. In fact, AN also reported last year that the company was studying a new model to slot below the Frontier, citing a source familiar with the situation. The new model wasn't explicitly said to be an EV, but the possibility was left on the table with the acknowledgment that it would be smart for Nissan to enter a segment that remains wide open as far as competition. Although full-size electric trucks such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T are starting to flood the market, there currently aren't any fully electric compact or mid-size options. However, it won't be long before other automakers strike at the opportunity. For example, Chevy is already reportedly exploring a compact EV truck to steal sales from the hybrid Ford Maverick. While it's too early to say if or when Nissan will come out with a small electric pickup truck, it definitely teased what such a thing might look like with the Surf-Out concept (pictured above) that the company showed last year. The futuristic-looking truck appeared along with several other funky concepts. At the time, Nissan also laid out plans to release 15 new EV models by 2030. Could an electric version of the Frontier be one of them? We'll just have to wait and see. This content is imported from poll. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site. link: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a42637343/nissan-build-small-electric-pickup-truck-us-report/

He has admitted to feeling anxious and wanting everything to be perfect. I know he will become more comfortable, in time, but is there anything I can do to help? My boyfriend (20) and I (18) have been dating for two and a half months, like each other a lot and have good sex. He definitely enjoys sex with me a lot but he never ejaculates because he says he gets soft the moment he feels he’s about to. I am his first sexual partner and his first proper girlfriend, so it’s hard to ask him what he likes because even he’s not sure. We also live in shared accommodation so we can’t do it that often. He has admitted to feeling anxious because he’s my sixth sexual partner and fourth boyfriend – and he wants to be perfect, although I have reassured him. I know it will just take time for him to get comfortable, but is there anything I can do to help? You are correct in assuming it will take time. Sexual finesse does not arrive naturally and is not easily achieved. Rather, it is something people learn over many years. The best thing you can do is try to have fun with him. Being playful during lovemaking reduces anxieties and the sense of performance pressure. And, although you have developed a pattern that seems to work, be prepared to mix it up and try other styles. Some people find it difficult at first to switch from solo sex to partner sex, so allow him to discover how to without you always leading. There is probably a position that will work best for him and help him climax, but he needs to feel safe to try different ways – focusing on his own pleasure rather than yours. link: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2023/jan/24/my-boyfriend-is-less-experienced-than-me-how-can-i-get-him-to-relax-and-enjoy-sex

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has decided to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, and allow other countries to do the same, reports in Germany say. Leopard 2s are made in Germany and Berlin needs to approve their export. Germany has been hesitant to send its own - or allow other nations to send theirs - over concerns it could escalate the conflict with Russia. Now, after international pressure, Mr Scholz has decided to send at least 14 Leopard 2s, German outlets say. A company is usually 14 tanks - the same number of Leopards Poland wants to send, and the same number of Challenger 2 tanks the UK has already committed to Ukraine. The news was broken by Der Spiegel in Germany, citing government sources, before being seemingly confirmed elsewhere. There has been no official statement from the German government yet. However, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann of the liberal FDP party, who chairs the defence committee of the German parliament, welcomed the reports. "The decision was tough, it took far too long, but in the end it was unavoidable," she said, adding that it would come as a relief to "the battered and brave Ukrainian people". Ukraine sees the tanks as vital for breaking through Russian lines and to beat an anticipated Russian offensive this spring. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky believes about 300 Leopard tanks would help it defeat Russia. Allied nations have become frustrated at what they perceive as German reluctance to send the armoured vehicles in recent days. Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki told the BBC earlier on Tuesday that Germany had a "special responsibility" to support Ukraine, having built up "huge Russian funds" before the war by buying its gas. He also accused Germany of "delaying, dodging, acting in a way that is difficult to understand". German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius earlier said that Berlin had given other nations the green light to train Ukrainians to use Leopard 2 tanks, but did not commit to sending their own. Miguel Berger, Germany's ambassador to the UK, told the BBC on Tuesday that decisions would "not be driven by the news cycle". Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reports that the United States could send a significant number of Abrams M1 tanks to Ukraine, with an announcement possible this week. Ukrainian president's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, on Tuesday called on Western countries to give Kyiv hundreds of tanks to form a "crushing fist" against Russia. "Tanks are one of the components for Ukraine to return to its 1991 borders," he wrote on Telegram after the reports emerged of Germany agreeing to send tanks. link: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-64391272

The Moroccan group specializes in turning waste into plastic. Rabat - American company Clean-Seas acquired a 51% stake in Morocco-based Ecosynergie Group, which is an operator of pyrolysis waste-plastic conversion technology. Ecosynergie will change its name to Clean-Seas Morocco (CSM), the name of the joint-venture the two companies established last year. Clean-Seas, a subsidiary of Clean Vision, will pay $6.5 million for the controlling stake within the next 10 months, according to the press release that announced the deal. Ecosynergie’s recycling facility has a capacity of 20 tonnes per day (TPD) and is expected to be supplemented by two additional 50 TPD systems, to bring its capacity to 120 TPD. The facility is set to become one of Clean-Seas’ regional hubs in its “Plastic Conversion Network.” The press release details that the company plans to reach a capacity of 350 TPD or more in two years. "Our team believes this transaction is a big win for Morocco and for everyone involved,” said ESG’s Director and General Manager Mohammed El Abbassi, who is also set to become the Chairman of the CSM board. “Combined with the Clean-Seas team and its capital commitment, we anticipate having the resources needed to reduce waste-plastic economically and profitably, while creating jobs and producing clean fuels to help offset higher energy prices," he added. "Everyone involved with this project is committed to its success, not just financially but for the positive impact it will have on the environment and the local community,” stated Dan Harris, Clean Vision CRO . Clean-Seas previously partnered with Ecosynergie to build two plants to convert plastic into energy sources, allowing other Moroccan companies wanting to do pyrolysis operations to use the facilities. Pyrolysis is a process used to convert plastic materials into energy sources by heating plastic waste between 300 to 900 degrees celsius. link: https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/01/353702/clean-seas-acquires-51-of-moroccan-firm-ecosynergie

North West Leicestershire MP Andrew Bridgen has apologised to Parliament for breaching the MPs' code of conduct. Mr Bridgen was suspended from the House of Commons for five days, after he was found to have shown a "careless and cavalier" attitude to the rules. Addressing MPs following his suspension, he said: "I should have been more alert to the rules." He also apologised for a letter to the standards commissioner, which he said he now realised was "inappropriate". In November, the Commons Standards Committee ruled Mr Bridgen had breached rules by failing to declare his financial interests in Mere Plantations when writing to ministers about the company. The Cheshire-based firm had donated money to Mr Bridgen's local party and funded a trip to Ghana. The cross-party group of MPs also described Mr Bridgen's letter to Kathryn Stone - who has since left the post of standards commissioner - as an "unacceptable attack". Mr Bridgen currently sits as an independent MP after being suspended from the Conservative Party in Parliament for posting a tweet that compared vaccines to the Holocaust. link: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-64379330

Satellite photos showing poop stains in the West Antarctic snow and ice have revealed a previously unknown breeding colony of emperor penguins. A never-before-seen emperor penguin colony — one of only 66 known to exist — has been spotted by accident in satellite photographs of West Antarctica that clearly show their guano, or droppings, staining the ice. The colony is estimated to be home to about 1,000 adult birds, in 500 pairs with their young, which makes it relatively small for an emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri) breeding site. But it's an important addition to what's known of the species. Peter Fretwell(opens in new tab), a geographic information officer with the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), discovered the colony in December; but the announcement was delayed so that it coincided with Penguin Awareness Day, which is held on Jan. 20 each year. Fretwell told Live Science that he was looking at sea ice loss in photographs from the European Space Agency's two Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites(opens in new tab) when he spotted the distinctive signs of an emperor penguin colony. "I could see what looked like a very small brown stain on the ice," he said. Related: Over 60 million years ago, penguins abandoned flight for swimming. Here’s how. Higher resolution photographs of the same area taken in October by the Maxar WorldView-3 satellite(opens in new tab), which can image objects as small as 12 inches (30 centimeters) across, confirmed the presence of the breeding colony, near West Antarctica's Verleger Point, Fretwell said. Because the penguins' guano accumulates and stains the ice and snow a deep-brown color, it is much easier to see from afar than the emperor penguins themselves. But the high-resolution images also show individual emperor penguins — pictured as tiny dots — and the po[CENSORED]tion estimate is based on those, Fretwell said. Seabirds by satellite Emperor penguin colonies are often remote and difficult to study, but BAS scientists have discovered several in satellite photos of Antarctica's coastline over the past 15 years. Recent satellite research has even suggested that there could be around 20% more emperor penguins in the Antarctic than previously estimated. Emperor penguins exclusively breed on packed sea ice. This reliance on sea ice, however, also makes the penguins vulnerable to its loss in a warming climate; and West Antarctica has already been badly affected. "Last year we had the minimum ever sea ice extent in Antarctica, and this year is even worse, for two consecutive years," Fretwell said. "It's estimated that we will probably lose a minimum of 80% of emperor penguin colonies before the end of the century." Due to this threat from climate change, emperors are now listed as a threatened species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Stately penguins Emperor penguins are the tallest and heaviest of all penguins, typically reaching up to 39 inches (100 cm) in height and weighing up to 100 pounds (45 kilograms.) They get their name from their dramatic black, white and yellow plumage. Emperors spend most of the Antarctic summer diving for fish, crustaceans and krill. They breed during the dark winter months on the surface of the packed sea ice, sometimes more than 30 miles (50 kilometers) from the open ocean, and where temperatures can dip as low as minus 76 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 60 Celsius.). Fretwell recently visited Antarctica to observe another large emperor penguin colony by aerial drone, to confirm the numerical estimates of penguin breeding colonies only seen in satellite photographs. And while he got close enough to smell the penguin poop, it wasn't that bad, he said. Because emperor penguin colonies are on sea ice, much of the guano is frozen and doesn't smell — unlike the colonies of penguins that breed among rocks, where the smell can be intense. "The emperors are more stately and not as smelly as other penguins," he said. link: https://www.livescience.com/satellites-reveal-emperor-penguin-colony-antarctica
