Check out the best cheap iPad deals available now Voxel Max is a pro-grade app for creating voxel art - essentially, pixel art in 3D. So instead of carefully placing pixels on a flat canvas, you plot cubes in a 256×256×256-pixel build area. Although compatible with iPhone, the Voxel Max experience revels in the iPad’s extra screen acres. You get more room to view and mani[CENSORED]te your creation, and Apple Pencil support for when getting all painterly with shaped brushes (spheres; larger cubes) rather than adding individual cubes one at a time. For professional illustrators, there are plenty of tools to dig into, including non-destructive transforms and face extrusions. But newcomers should find the app quite welcoming too, with its online help center and pre-built models to experiment with. These are the best photo editing apps you can download right now
  2. ASUS has confirmed two upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti & the GeForce RTX 3060. Both of these graphics cards are scheduled for launch in early '21 but ASUS has already listed them under their supports and services page. ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 20 GB & GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB ROG STRIX Custom Graphics Cards Confirmed Both graphics cards were spotted by HXL (@9550pro) within ASUS's support and services page for graphics cards. The list includes the GeForce RTX 30 series ROG STRIX variants and also mentions the unreleased GeForce RTX 3080 Ti & GeForce RTX 3060 graphics cards which we talked about in previous leaks. he leak confirms that ASUS is working on both overclocked and non-overclocked variants for their ROG STRIX series. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will feature 20 GB of GDDR6X memory and the GeForce RTX 3060 will come equipped with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. Since both of these cards are custom variants, they will be making use of the brand new ROG STRIX cooling solution that we have seen on the existing GeForce RTX 30 ROG STRIX lineup si expect top of the line cooling performance and a beefy custom PCB design. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 'Rumored' Graphics Card Specifications Details from Kopite7kimi suggest that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE (Founders Edition) graphics card will feature the PG133-SKU15 PCB design and the GA102-250-KD-A1 graphics core. The GA102-250 GPU has also changed since the last time we saw them and is now exactly the same as the GeForce RTX 3090 at 10496 FP32 CUDA cores. As for memory, the card will feature 20 GB of GDDR6X memory. Unlike the 19.5 Gbps speeds of the RTX 3090, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is said to retain the same memory speeds as the RTX 3080 at 19 Gbps. Since we are getting a 20 GB bus interface, NVIDIA will be using a 320-bit bus interface which equals a total bandwidth of 760 GB/s. TGP for the card is set to be the same as the RTX 3080 at 320 Watts. That's definitely needed to feed the extra cores so NVIDIA might have to optimize the clocks a bit here. NVIDIA could undercut the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT which is a $999 US graphics card with the RTX 3080 Ti though we have to see just how much of a difference the Ti variant makes as it will end up being sandwiched between the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. There are reports that the RTX 3080 Ti may end up faster than the RTX 3090 due to its higher clock speeds while the RTX 3090 could remain a Titan class product serving the enthusiast and content creation market with its higher VRAM buffer. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 'Rumored' Graphics Card Specifications The GeForce RTX 3060 is suggested to feature the GA106-400 GPU which is expected to feature 3840 FP32 cores in a total of 30 SM units. The graphics card will make use of the PG190 SKU by board partners which are both GA104 and GA106 pin-compatible. The graphics card has seen a range of memory specs update starting with 6 GB (14 Gbps) and now listed at 12 GB (16 Gbps). It is rumored that the card will feature a massive 12 GB memory buffer which is larger than that of the RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070, and even the RTX 3080. This is not confirmed yet but the reason could be that NVIDIA wants to really tackle AMD in the mainstream segment. Again, we saw rumors of 20 GB and 16 GB for the RTX 3080 & RTX 3070 too which didn't end up being true as they were early designs that were later on canceled. The card will feature a 192-bit bus interface and at 16 Gbps, delivering bandwidth of up to 384 GB/s. The GeForce RTX 3060 could end up being priced at $299 US which will make it a formidable graphics card.
  3. Initial release date: April 7, 2015 Software developer: Ubisoft Montreal Engine: Anvil Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows Designers: Daniel Drabeau, Chris Lee, Andrew Waits Modes: Single-player video game, Multiplayer video game As of December 1st, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is five years old. Yes, you read that right. But how to celebrate such an incredible milestone for one of the only true Games as a Service success stories? Well, how about a shiny new version of the game that offers an array of improvements? Sure, there are still plenty of issues, but if you’re torn between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions, then the next-gen edition is unequivocally the superior options. You already know what Rainbow Six: Siege is: it’s one of the biggest competitive shooters on the planet. But for anyone unfamiliar, Rainbow Six: Siege sees two five player teams of unique characters face off in “war games”, built around alternating between attacking and defending sets of objectives. While attackers use drones to recon the area, defenders prepare for the coming siege by placing defensive gadgets and reinforcing walls. If you’d like to hear, even more, check out our original PS4 review, though the experience has changed a lot since then. While the campaign and the terrorist hunt modes are largely unchanged, the online mode is almost completely unrecognisable. The title has undergone an insane number of overhauls through the years, seeing upwards of 20 large updates. These changes have offered up new operators to play as, new maps, new systems, and everything in between. Character unlocks, map rotations, weapon attachments – these all function differently from launch. Even firing a gun is different, as recoil has been completely overhauled. Some gadgets or attachments are no longer in the game, and an operator has even had their entire purpose altered. We of course mean 'The Lord' himself, Tachanka, who received a major rework that debuted with this new version of Siege. This incredible depth of support has helped the title’s player base grow at an exponential rate. The plan has gone so well that in September 2019 the title’s Twitter account shared that it had surpassed a staggering 50 million players. Things have been stable for some time, too. There hasn’t been a pressing need for a new Operation Health, the infamous “season” where the game was plagued by so many issues that regular updates needed to be halted. This stability further aids the PS5 version, as new players will get to experience the game at optimal capacity. All elements of the title, be it gunplay, tactics, or the variety of operators are absolute perfection. It represents the most satisfying shooter experience we have ever encountered. And the PS5 incarnation of the title brings with it a bevy of small but welcome changes that further enhance the experience. By far the biggest change is to resolution and framerate. What was once 1080p at 60 frames-per-second is now native 4K at 60 frames-per-second, and you can even crank online to 120 frames-per-second. We didn’t expect much out of the resolution bump, but all of the assets look shockingly good here. It’s a lot easier to appreciate the degree of craftsmanship that went into each and every map. It’s also worth noting that the 60 frames-per-second now at long last applies to the terrorist hunt mode. Some of the maps you might recognize by name are no longer what they appear. After the map count hit 20, efforts were made to go back to the original lineup and begin reworking them to fit the newer play style. As players spent more and more time with the game, it became clear many of the early maps were either too small or didn’t have the right sightlines to be fun, so the team went back to the drawing board. This of course does not include the campaign-only map, Bartlett, which was added and subsequently removed from online. Debuting alongside the PS5 version of the title we have a reworked Skyscraper, a map from the title’s opening year of support. It is worth investing the time to learn – or re-learn – the maps, as situational awareness is a core element of the title. Players are generally expected to know sightlines and be able to identify operators on audio cues, know which walls to reinforce, and which to not. These are all things that can be more easily accomplished in T-hunt at least initially. The game’s online component has such a massively steep learning curve, that it’s practically expected of you to know everything the second you load into a game. Failure to “know the rules” often leads to being team-killed. This is why the implementation of the PS5’s Accolades system is exciting. At the end of a match, a prompt to give out accolades shows up, having been natively integrated into the experience, which is a genius move to hopefully encourage a notoriously toxic community to play nice, though we are sceptical. Rainbow Six: Siege, like any other massively successful title, has a brutal fan base. While there are heart-warming stories, like community memes being embraced by the devs – Rook Mine, everything about Tachanka, or the incredible Instagram artist Sau_Siege – there are a bevy of community issues that run rampant. It’s also worth noting that the basis of Rook Mine is a team kill. The most notable issue, though, is cheating, with mouse-and-keyboard players being so plentiful on console that you may find yourself only encountering a fellow controller player every few hours. This is especially bad in ranked playlists, but it’s present in the casual ones as well. Cheating is so severe that we can’t possibly fit everything into this review, so be on the lookout for a supplemental piece in the coming weeks This issue is so prevalent in fact that it ruins one of the most exciting additions to the PS5 version: haptic feedback. The trigger tension afforded by the DualSense is brilliantly implemented, requiring stronger presses of the trigger based on the calibre of weapon you use. While it feels great, and absolutely aids in immersion, it actively puts PS5 users at a disadvantage. Trigger tension is non-existent on PS4 and of course on mouse and keyboard. As much as we like the feature, we ultimately disabled it so as to not handicap ourselves. Given the split generation, and how few people seem to be using controllers among the longer-tenured players, it becomes increasingly difficult to recommend leaving on. Conclusion Delivering a final verdict for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is complicated. Purely on the title’s merits, it's a PS5 upgrade that is unquestionably an improvement and comes highly recommended. But on the other hand, even with all the new bells and whistles courtesy of the PS5, the title is a horrifying cesspool of cheating and toxicity of which very little has been done to stem the tide. operating System: 64-bit version of the following operating systems: Windows 7 SP1 / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Windows 10. 8. Talk that Apple could launch an autonomous car as soon as 2024 had the market abuzz this past week. The iCar chatter started with a Reuters report, and investors responded by bidding up the market cap of Apple (ticker: AAPL) by about $145 billion from Monday’s low to Tuesday’s close. That’s more than the market values of Ford Motor (F), General Motors (GM), and Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) combined. Imagine if Apple had actually announced something. Stories about Apple’s ambitions in the automobile market have swirled for at least a decade. “Steve Jobs, if he’d lived, was going to design an iCar,” Mickey Drexler, a former Apple board member, said in a 2014 interview at the Parsons School of Design in New York. Over the years, there have been reports that Apple has hired hundreds of engineers for what is supposedly known as Project Titan. The Reuters report says that Apple has new battery technology that will provide longer range and lower costs than existing batteries used by Tesla (TSLA) and others. Apple isn’t saying anything—it never talks about unannounced products—but I doubt that we will see iCar dealerships anytime soon. To be clear, the appeal of this idea is obvious. Apple’s sales are enormous—Wall Street expects $330 billion in the September 2022 fiscal year. To drive meaningful growth, it must aim at large markets. And as my colleague Al Root has calculated, the world’s 26 largest auto makers last year had sales of more than $2 trillion combined. But I find the notion of Apple becoming a full-fledged car company far-fetched. Sure, Apple has long been nibbling around the edges of the auto market with its CarPlay service for in-cabin entertainment and maps. Yet Apple’s expertise is in design, engineering, logistics, and marketing. It doesn’t manufacture anything, relying on contractors to make phones, Macs, and other wares. As Citigroup analyst Jim Suva notes, making cars would compress Apple’s margins, making it an unlikely strategy. At the same time, Apple is not just going to ignore a $2 trillion market. Morgan Stanley auto analyst Adam Jonas wrote last week that he and his tech analyst colleagues have long thought that Apple would one day design and engineer a car. “It’s not that we believe Apple wants to get into the auto industry as conceived by today’s auto companies, but that Apple may have an interest in enhancing the driving experience with vertical integration of hardware, software, and services,” he said in a research note. Jonas thinks that the value of services in the “internet of cars”—multiply monthly active users (drivers) by average revenue per driver—could dwarf sales from simply selling cars. “The world’s 1.2 billion light vehicles travel in excess of 10 trillion miles per year, and humanity spends over 600 billion hours of time inside automobiles annually...the equivalent of 68 million years,” he said. Now, imagine those were autonomous cars. That would free up a lot of consumer time to watch Apple TV+, listen to Apple Music, read Apple News, and play in Apple Arcade on iPhones, iPads, or MacBooks. Tesla CEO Elon Musk entered the iCar discussion on Tuesday. In a tweet, he said that during a difficult moment for his company, he reached out to Apple CEO Tim Cook to discuss selling Tesla to Apple for a 10th of the recent price (let’s call it $60 billion). Cook “refused to take the meeting,” Musk wrote. Whether an Apple/Tesla combination would have worked, we’ll never know. Let’s get small: The huge 2002 tech rally has stripped the landscape clean of obvious bargains. (Though I think I found one in Yelp [YELP].) In search of cheap merchandise, I chatted recently with Jeffrey Meyers, proprietor of Cobia Capital, a New York–based hedge fund. His preference is for unloved and unknown tech companies with market caps under $3 billion that trade at modest multiples. Here are two examples. Meyers is keen on AirGain (AIRG), which makes antennae for fixed and mobile wireless applications. He’s especially jazzed about the prospects for a new AirGain antenna for first-responder vehicles that allows them greater range so radio signals can penetrate farther into buildings. AirGain is up about 40% this year, but he sees higher highs. Now trading for about $15, it could be a $75 stock a few years from now, he thinks. He is also enthusiastic about Nordic Semiconductor (NOD.Norway), a Norwegian company that makes Bluetooth chips for things other than smartphones: headsets, keyboards, mice, and other applications. Meyers notes that the chips are found, for instance, in Tile tracking devices, which can be attached to almost anything that you wouldn’t want to lose—your dog, say, or your keys. Apple is rumored to be working on a similar product, which he thinks also could include Nordic’s chips. Nordic shares aren’t as cheap as those of other Meyers picks, but the company is seeing accelerating growth—revenue was up 45%, year over year, in the September quarter and 34% sequentially—in a growing niche. Nordic, meanwhile, is gaining some early traction in chips used in cellular-based Internet of Things applications. Wall Street is looking for…well, there aren’t any U.S. analysts. Just the kind of stock Meyers loves. Nordic could be acquisition bait for many potential buyers, he says, as the chip sector continues to consolidate. Write to Eric J. 9. When 50-year-old Neil Nongkynrih, founder and conductor of Shillong Chamber Choir (SCC), the po[CENSORED]r Indian chamber choir, decided to create a Christmas album for 2020, he didn’t want to use the same western motifs of snow and reindeers in the musical pieces. He took it upon himself to push the envelope a little. “Jesus was born in a desert, amid shepherds and camels. But how is it that our music almost never reflects the sound of the East, where Christ was actually born,” says Nongkynrih, who has created Christmas Come Home. The album includes hymns and carols in Urdu, Farsi, Aramaic, English and even Khasi, the mother tongue of most members of the choir. “I am not saying that I am going to revolutionise the world by including the sound of West Asia. But I am certainly challenging some of the norms of Christmas. I am not against a Christmas tree or festivity, but through the album, we are just trying to tell the story much closer to how it happened. The sound, this time, represents the sound of the desert. The sound is a reminder of the origin of Christmas. And thereby the inclusion of middle-eastern languages,” says Nongkynrih, who trained as a pianist at the Trinity College and the Guildhall School of Music in London. He returned to his hometown in 2001 and formed the Shillong Chamber Choir. He was awarded a Padma Shri in 2015.One of the most interesting experiences while creating the album was the inclusion of ancient Aramaic, which originated in the 1st Millenium BC and later became the language of ancient Western Asia, and is now considered a dead language. It is spoken by only a handful of people all over the world. “Contemporary Aramaic is still spoken by a few million people but the ancient one, the language that Christ spoke, is very difficult to find,” says William Basaiawmoit, the lead vocalist. The choir sings the famed African-American song Go tell it to the mountain/ that Jesus Christ is born, a piece that has been recorded by many gospel singers for over a century. The Choir’s search led them to Melke Tekin, an elderly man in Switzerland, who still speaks Aramaic and translated the song for them. The Choir has medleyed the song with one of the most po[CENSORED]r carols all over the world – Glory to God. The latter’s version is the one that was composed by German composer George Frideric Handel for his immensely successful work, Messiah. A significant piece in the song, We the kings is a take on We three kings, the famous carol written as Three kings of Orient in 1857 by John Hopkins Junior. “We think there were several, not three, thus the change. It’s unlikely that only three men came from Persia to Jerusalem,” says Nongkynrih, who has used Urdu, Farsi and English in this one. Since the travelling men, according to the Choir, would have spoken Farsi, they decided to include the language in this piece. The song also has a video and showcases the story of the kings through sand art created by Israeli sand artiste Ilana Yahav. It opens with a haunting beginning in Farsi, a reminder of how an azaan sounds. “On one hand they are singing in Farsi and the lady who did the sand artistry is Israeli. So in times of conflict, there is an underlying message here, how much peace there could be,” says Nongkynrih, who has merged Jingle bells with Hallelujah chorus in Hebrew and has got the group to sing Silent night in Khasi, first language of most of the members in the Choir. During the pandemic, the Choir has done a slew of digital concerts and managed to create a few videos for Christmas. The month also marks their 10th anniversary as the winners of the show India’s Got Talent.
  10. Singaporean Siti Aslinda Binte Junaidi is facing the death penalty in China after being convicted of drug trafficking. Hong Kong (CNN)The first Ismiraldha Abdullah knew that her mother might be in trouble was when she came home from school in Singapore to find her aunt sobbing, holding a letter in Chinese. It was October 2015 and the letter said Ismiraldha's mother, Siti Aslinda Binte Junaidi, had been arrested in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen on suspicion of drug trafficking, and could face the death penalty. Ismiraldha was shocked. She said she had had little idea what her mother was doing in China, only that she had gone there looking for work, and while she cried along with her aunt at the news, the then 12-year-old still didn't truly understand what was going on. Almost five years later, Aslinda, now 35, and another Singaporean, 44-year-old Mohd Yusri Bin Mohd Yussof, were found guilty of drug trafficking and sentenced to death in July 2020. Yusri's sentence was suspended for two years, meaning it may be downgraded to life imprisonment. Aslinda -- deemed to have played a more active role in the crime -- faces execution if her final appeal, which could be heard at any time, is not successful. Back in Singapore, her family is trying desperately to save her from this fate, through diplomatic channels and the Chinese legal system, where acquittals are incredibly rare. "It has been very difficult to get a pro bono lawyer in China and the family cannot afford to pay for one," said M. Ravi, a Singaporean lawyer who has been advising on the case. "I've been trying to liaise with some international networks I have to get a pro bono lawyer, but her case is (moving forward) and we don't know when it might reach the next court. "What if China suddenly decides to shoot her in weeks?"Smuggling through Shenzhen According to court documents seen by CNN, Aslinda and Yusri were stopped by customs officials in Shenzhen on October 24, 2015. A search of their suitcases revealed 28 women's handbags containing more than 11 kilograms (24 pounds) of methamphetamine stitched into the lining. If sold per gram, that amount of meth could be worth upwards of $220,000 in the US. Both denied any knowledge of the drugs. Aslinda told the court how, while looking for jobs online in late 2014, she met a man called Chibuzor Onwuka, who offered her generous commissions to transport goods from China to Cambodia. Around once or twice a month, Aslinda said she would pick up goods in Guangzhou and fly with them to Phnom Penh. It is unclear whether Onwuka has been arrested, with court documents saying only that his case was being "handled separately." He could not be reached for comment. The goods she transported were usually women's lingerie, handbags and toner cartridges, and while Aslinda admitted to having doubts about the scheme, she told the court she was convinced by Onwuka's explanation that the handbags were highly profitable as they were sold to prominent Cambodians. In July 2015, Aslinda introduced Yusri to Onwuka and they began carrying goods together. Onwuka paid them $2,000 to $3,000 each per trip, they said, and also covered their airfare and hotel bills. By the time they were arrested, they'd done two trips together. At trial, the judge rejected the pair's arguments that they didn't know what was in the handbags, ruling that they were either aware or should have been aware of the contents given the "unusually high remuneration" for transporting goods overseas. The convoluted way in which they were told to travel -- from Guangzhou to Hong Kong via Shenzhen then Phnom Penh -- should also have raised suspicion, the judge said, as direct flights were available to the Cambodian capital. Ismiraldha said the case was a "horrible mistake," adding that her mother has a clean record in Singapore and would never have knowingly committed a crime. "One thing I have to admit is that it's stupid," she said. "If I was in my mom's shoes, I would never have taken that job, (and) if I'd known what she was doing, I would have told her off. But I was only 12 years old at the time." While she has been able to write to her mother, she said their letters appear to be monitored as sometimes they do not get through, so she's limited in the questions she can ask. In a recent letter, Ismiraldha said her mother complained that consular officials have been unable to visit her for almost a year, likely as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond to a request for comment about Aslinda's case. United States consular officials have previously confirmed to CNN that they had been prevented from visiting jailed Americans in China due to coronavirus concerns.Death penalty Aslinda's case is being appealed to the Guangdong High Court, her legal team said. If the court does not overturn the judgment, her death penalty could be carried out within weeks. Prosecutors in Guangdong and China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond to a request for comment. Referring to a similar case earlier this year, a spokesman for the foreign ministry said China applying the death sentence "for drug-related crimes that are extremely dangerous will help deter and prevent such crimes." "Chinese law sti[CENSORED]tes that every criminal is equal in the application of the law," spokesman Zhao Lijian said. "China's judicial authorities handle cases involving criminals of different nationalities in accordance with law." China is the the world's leading executioner, according to analysis by Amnesty International and the Dui Hua Foundation, which advocates on behalf of prisoners in China. The country does not report the total number of executions carried out each year, but it is believed to be in the thousands, with the majority performed by firing squad or lethal injection. Those executed include large numbers of foreigners, though again China does not release exact figures. In 2016, the Nigerian senate reportedly heard that 120 of its citizens were on death row in China -- while over the past decade, people from Uganda, South Korea, Japan, and Kenya have received death sentences for drug crimes. Sometimes, penalties appear to be linked to political events. Last year, Canadian Robert Lloyd Schellenberg was sentenced to death for drug smuggling. He had originally received a 15-year prison sentence but it was upgraded to death following the arrest in Vancouver of top Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou. In August this year, two more Canadians -- Xu Weihong and Ye Jianhui -- were also sentenced to death for drug offenses, while in June, amid worsening ties between Canberra and Beijing, Australian Cam Gillespie received the same sentence. "It all depends on diplomatic persuasion," said Ravi, the lawyer, adding that "Singapore is quite close to China, but I've been trying to reach out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and they've not been very helpful. They should at least meet up with us to ask what they can do, it's very frustrating." In the past, Chinese authorities have appeared to avoid handing down death penalties to citizens from some countries, particularly Western nations. However Singapore itself has the death penalty, and applies it in cases of drug trafficking. In May this year, a Singaporean judge sentenced a man to death by hanging over Zoom, attracting widespread outrage. Singapore and China are among the minority of states that execute prisoners. In some 170 countries, it's not even an option. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said the death penalty "has no place in the 21st century." Ismiraldha said she was "worried and scared," unsure if the work she and others are doing in Singapore will have any effect on her mother's fate in China. "Everyone deserves a second chance," she said.
  11. Earlier this week Cloudflare acquired automation platform Linc to give more flexibility and functionality to help its front-end developers collaborate and build webapps with ease. In a blog post announcing the move, Cloudflare said the acquisition will help the company enhance their newly announced front-end JAMStack hosting platform called Pages: “With the addition of Linc, we will accelerate Pages to enable richer and more powerful full-stack applications.” Acknowledging the work of Linc with Frontend Application Bundles (FABs), the web infrastructure company added that together they’ll be able to make backends more accessible to frontend developers. Here’s everything you want to know about website builders And these are the best free website builders Also check out list of the best managed web hosting services Hosting at the edge “Linc and the Frontend Application Bundle (FAB) specification were designed with a single goal in mind: to give frontend developers the best possible tools to build, review, refine, and deploy their applications,” notes Glen Maddern, CTO of Maddern added that while Linc’s goal was to give developers the best tooling for their apps, regardless of which hosting they were using, they noticed that when given a choice, developers usually chose Cloudflare to host their frontend: “Which is why, when we started talking to Cloudflare, everything fell into place.” Besides the immediate goal of adding new capabilities to Pages, Maddern says the Linc team will work towards enabling customers to “fully embrace edge-rendering and make global serverless hosting more powerful and accessible.” These are the best cloud hosting providers
  12. intel's Rocket Lake Desktop CPUs which include the Core i9-11900K, Core i9-11900 & Core i7-11700 have been spotted at Chiphell Forums (via Harukaze5719). All three chips are part of the 11th Gen family and feature 8 cores with 16 threads. The leaker points out that these three chips are early engineering samples & hence feature much lower clock speeds than the retail variants that will be available around Q1 '21. Intel Core i9-11900K, Core i9-11900, Core i7-11700 8 Core, 11th Gen, Rocket Lake Desktop CPUs Spotted Starting with the specifications, well there isn't much difference in terms of core configuration as each CPU packs 8 cores, 16 threads, 16 MB of L3 cache, and 4 MB of L2 cache. The difference here is the clock speeds and TDPs for each respective chip. The Intel Core i9-11900K is going to be the flagship CPU in the 11th Generation family and will rock a base TDP of 125W and a PL2 rating of 250W. The Intel Core i9-11900 and Core i7-11700 are standard non-K SKUs with base 65W TDPs and PL2 ratings of 225W.The core clocks for these chips are also not final as the Intel Core i9-11900K is rated at a base frequency of 3.40 GHz and a boost frequency of 4.8 GHz (1-core) & 4.3 GHz (all-core). The Core i9-11900 has a base frequency of 1.80 GHz and boosts up to 4.5 GHz (1-core) and 4.0 GHz (all-core). The i7-11700 also features a base clock of 1.80 GHz but has much lower boost clocks of 4.3 GHz (1-core) and 3.8 GHz (all-core). Once again, these aren't final clock speeds in any way. The Core i9-11900K will come with a 3.50 GHz base clock and a boost clock of 4.80 GHz (all-core) & 5.30 GHz (single-core TVB 3.0).A singular performance benchmark for the Core i7-11700 was shown where the chip scored 529 points in single-core and 4672 points in the multi-core test within Cinebench R20. A Core i7-10700 for comparison scores 499 points in the single-core and 4834 points in the multi-core tests. So just right off the bat, we can see that the Core i7-11700 isn't exactly much faster than its predecessor but we also have to take into account the much lower clock speeds than the Intel Core i7-11700 ES CPU here has to offer. The standard Core i7-10700 has a much higher base clock of 2.90 GHz (1.1 GHz higher) and also boosts at a much higher 4.80 GHz (1-core) & 4.2 GHz (all-core).The most interesting information coming out of this leak and also what we have heard is that the Intel B560 lineup in the coming generation will support memory overclocking. The leaker provided a tiny glimpse of that by running the memory at 4133 MHz (X.M.P enabled). On the previous generation B series motherboards, memory overclocking was disabled and even the XMP features were locked out and exclusive to the higher-end Z series boards. The leaker also mentions the prices of these ES CPUs which are 2800 Chinese Yen ($430 US) for the Intel Core i9-11900K, 2300 Chinese Yen ($350 US) for the Core i9-11900, and 1600 Chinese Yen ($245 US) for the Core i7-11700 CPU. These aren't official retail prices but they match they are definitely lower than the retail 10th Gen parts. The Core i9-10900K retails for $499 US officially and while the Core i9-11900K is technically not a replacement for the 10 core offering, it does seem to feature an $80 US lower price. Since Intel is dropping down the core count and betting it all on its Cypress Cove core architecture, they might have to lower the price per segment to compete against AMD's Ryzen 9 and Ryzen 7 parts which not only offer more cores and threads but also come with superior MT (Multi-Threaded) performance.

  14. Online shopping giant Amazon is delaying its move to raise merchant fees until June of next year with charges for its Fulfillment by Amazon service being put on hold for now. The costs it charges independent e-commerce sellers to store and ship items should have risen in line with annual increases by other online sales hubs. Announcing the decision in a blog post, Jeff Wilke, CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer said the company had made the decision due to the exceptional circumstances that have caused chaos for everyone, including e-commerce retailers over the last year. The Fullfillment by Amazon service is used by businesses that need to store, pack and ship their products directly to customers. The logistics operation has been hugely beneficial for many companies, especially those prioritizing their e-commerce strategy during the pandemic. Find the best POS system for your business The best tax software around today Check out the best money transfer apps and services However, many merchants that have accounts with Amazon have expressed their disapproval at the way the online retail hub treats them. As well as paying for shipping costs independent retailers find that they are frequently having to spend extra money for additional advertising on Amazon in order to make their products stand out. Rising costs In more normal times Amazon usually announces its fee increases in December, which are subsequently rolled out the following year. Costs have gone up for the last four consecutive years. Earlier this year Amazon raised its shipping fees to 6.1%, up by 2.9% for smaller items while storage charges for goods held in Amazon’s warehouses increased by 8.7%. Amazon has said that it will pause the rise in charges until June 1 and this will cover sellers in the US and Europe, along with those in Japan. In what has been an incredibly difficult year for business, e-commerce outlets have also been hit by rising courier charges, with both UPS and FedEx announcing a 4.9% increase on making package deliveries for 2021.
  15. MSI has started rolling out the latest AGESA 1.1.9.0 BIOS firmware for its AMD 500-series chipset (X570 & B550) based line of motherboards. The latest BIOS will introduce support for AMD's Curve Optimizer tech and also improves Ryzen 5000 CPU stability. MSI's AGESA 1.1.9.0 BIOS Firmware For X570 & B550 Motherboards Starts Rolling Out, AMD Curve Optimizer & NVIDIA Resizable BAR Support Added MSI confirmed that it has initiated the first phase rollout of its new X570 & B550 BIOS based on the AGESA 1.1.9.0 firmware. The AGESA 1.1.9.0 is the official BIOS firmware that will enable support for AMD's brand new Curve Optimizer feature. In addition to the Curve Optimizer feature support, the BIOS also fixes compatibility issues with NVIDIA cards when enabling Resizable BAR. Although there is no official support for BAR at the moment from NVIDIA motherboard makers have supported the feature on their Intel & AMD current-gen products. As for the BIOS itself, MSI has first rolled out the BIOS for its MAG B550M Mortar & B550M Mortar WiFi motherboards. Both motherboards are now fully compatible with AMD's Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPUs offering features such as Curve Optimizer, SAM (Smart Access Memory) & also delivering the best possible stability when running an AMD Ryzen 5000 Desktop CPU.We already got a glimpse of how AMD's Curve Optimizer works and performs in benchmarks that were provided to us by MSI. MSI demonstrated the feature on its B450 Tomahawk motherboard running an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU. The motherboard lists the feature within the BIOS and there are three main settings to select from which include setting the number of cores, setting the all-core curve optimizer sign, and the magnitude. You can set the values per core individually or all at once. You can read more details on the feature here. From what MSI has shown us, we can see that a negative AMD Curve Optimizer value can be set to reduce the Vcore under work-loads while simultaneously offering a higher boost frequency. The feature works in both single & multi-threaded workloads. The results of Curve Optimizer are as follows:Expect a full rollout for the AGESA 1.1.9.0 BIOS Firmware for AMD's X570 & B550 motherboards around the end of December or early January. MSI will also be focusing on AGESA 1.1.0.0 Patch D which will enable support for Resizable BAR, enabling it with supported RX 6000 series graphics cards. The feature will be further expanded to NVIDIA graphics cards once the green team finalizes its driver update.

  18. Pregnancies are often big milestones in people’s lives, an occasion to celebrate whether it’s our near and dear ones or actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, we can’t help but share in their joy. For their pregnancy conforms to the expectations of the society, and therefore is celebrated. But as soon as it was insinuated that singer Neha Kakkar was sporting a baby bump within 2 months of her marriage, people on the internet broke out in furore and weren’t as approving. To clarify, the baby bump is just a part of her new song’s promotions and she is not actually pregnant. But the stunt confronts us with the arbitrary yardsticks employed by the society in deciding to celebrate or shame someone’s most intimate and personal decisions and choices. Vani Subramaniam, Counseling Psychologist and relationship expert, says, “In a picture of one of India’s most loved playback singers on the internet, where she possibly looks pregnant has invited over 70000 comments across social media platforms. While many have been congratulatory in nature, there are several that have asked questions and demanded answers of the couple to explain their choice and the timeline of events.” A celebrity, by virtue of being a public figure, is fated to public glare, with fans and naysayers watching them keenly, observing everything they do, speculating about their lives. With that comes mocking, taunting, and sneering but where does the voyeurism stop. Kanika Khosla, psychologist, says, “Pregnancy, sex life, marriage, vacations, honeymoon, etc are all private affairs. It is not uncommon for you and your friends to post pictures related to similar huge events of their respective lives. Pre-marital sex, intercourse and live-in relationships have also become increasingly uncommon among Indians and we embrace this ‘western lifestyle’ when we see our near and dear ones doing it, praise parents and refer to them as ‘modern parents who do not chide people on their choices and decisions.” She further questions the society, “So why can we not do the same when it comes to a public figure, celebrity or a known person. Why do we become stringent in our thoughts and reject the idea of looking at them through the same lens.” Netizens think their approval holds merit. But isn’t the timespan between a couple’s marriage and pregnancy their business and no one else’s. The trolling and speculations about when she got pregnant or maliciously guessing the reason behind her marriage is a violation of the basic reverence for another person’s decisions. Vani adds, “While we may feel deeply connected to and concerned about our reel life heroes, it is crucial to remember that they are people who have their own lives and choices, even if available to far more public scrutiny.” She sums it up, “Our fascination with the world of cinema and the details of their everyday life may give us an illusion of choice and power in their personal lives, but we must remember those boundaries and respect their space.”
  19. COVID-19 is hitting a handful states harder than anywhere else — California, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee. And in Tennessee, hospitals are having to improvise, as nearly 3,000 people are hospitalized for COVID-19 and treatment is underway for far more COVID patients than ever thought possible. Clinicians say they are trying to bend but not break as they wait for vaccines. "If we have another surge after Christmas and New Year's like we did after Thanksgiving, it will completely break our hospitals," Tennessee Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey said this week. A couple of Tennessee's rural hospitals have requested ventilators from the state's emergency stockpile. A federal emergency team has been sent to the mountainous northeast part of the state. And alternative care sites that were set up months ago, to deal with this kind of patient surge, are empty — rendered useless because there's no staff to run them. From outside the hospital walls, it's impossible to see how serious the situation is. Visitors are largely kept out. Patients aren't spilling into the street. Ambulances don't line up around the block. But inside, hospitals are frantically constructing new COVID units. Hospitals are forced to adapt and work with existing space In an effort to avoid treating patients in hallways, emergency departments are doing flash renovations. Last week, in the ER at TriStar Hendersonville, the waiting room was transformed into a patient care area. A small café is now the waiting room. "We're already taking measures for the onslaught that we believe is coming," says Dr. Duane Harrison, the ER medical director. "It is daunting to walk into the emergency room at 6 a.m. and see 13 people and know that there are no beds upstairs — and know that you are waiting for discharges and, unfortunately, deaths. But we keep making a place." Harrison says the crowding is not going to be comfortable, but it's better than the alternative of turning people away. Even the regional giant, Vanderbilt University Medical Center — with its huge staff, massive campus and top infectious disease capabilities — drew a line earlier this year. "You know, we thought we knew where our breaking point was," says chief nursing officer Robin Steaban. But VUMC already crossed that threshold, several weeks ago. "There is a breaking point. We have not discovered that yet, but we know that there is one when it's going to be impossible to do the kind of care we want to do for patients," she says. That's not to say coping has been pretty. Dr. Todd Rice directs Vanderbilt's COVID ICU, and has been fielding calls from as far away as Missouri and Virginia from hospitals with no room for — or no capabilities to treat — complex COVID patients. Rice has to tell other physicians there's no room at VUMC either, at least not for their transfer patients. And turning anyone away feels wrong for a major medical center that's usually thought of as a backstop for the region, he says. "We want to help them," Rice says. "And here we're having to really triage our resources." So a strange thing is happening. Even smaller hospitals that would usually refer critical cases to urban medical centers can't do that and are actually having to accept overflow from out of state. "It's pretty unusual for us — or was unusual — to get patients [from out of state]. Now we're getting them fairly regularly," says Dr. Matt King, a pulmonary critical care physician at a smaller Tennessee hospital, Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Dr. King handled a patient who was flown in recently from Kentucky, having sought a bed from Ohio to Alabama. And this patient wasn't even a COVID case. But COVID is what's causing the capacity issues. King says many of those patients are hospitalized for weeks. "It doesn't take very many patients staying for a week or two weeks for us to fill up," he says "The hospital really relies on being able to get people in, get them well, and get them home quickly so we can take care of the next person." At the bedside, resorting to uncommon measures Doctors say they are doing things that feel risky, like sending patients home earlier than they typically would, even when they still need supplemental oxygen to breathe. "Actually right now, I'm signing some paperwork to get a patient home with oxygen," King admitted during an interview last week. Hospitals are also telling more people who show up for care to go home, and only come back if things get worse. "You've gotta meet some pretty strict criteria to be admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 right now," says Dr. James Parnell, president of Tennessee's chapter of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Hospitals anticipate that they will have to make even more space, because they know additional cases are coming soon — from both the massive ongoing surge in new cases and from all the end-of-year holiday gatherings that will go on, despite the increasingly desperate pleas to stay home from public officials in Tennessee, and beyond. 21.
Menurut dr.
