Last Saturday, one day before the Pan American Games ended, ten athletes out of 412 of the Cuban delegation – a number that is managed until now – secretly left the Pan American Village to later present (a group of four so far) applications for refuge from returning to their country. After the news, the opposition has called on the Government and President Gabriel Boric to accept these requests under the auspices of the verse of the National Anthem: “Or asylum against oppression.” Clearly – say those familiar with the internal affairs – the problem complicates the Government. Even though Minister Camila Vallejo (PC) and communist deputy Karol Cariola have come out to rule out any discomfort, arguing that requests for asylum or political refuge have to be analyzed on their merit, the truth is that for the Communist Party it is not easy, firstly because of the historical support for the Cuban regime and, secondly, because it is not just any Cuban, but elite athletes. And it is not easy for President Boric either, since the argument for which he is being summoned by the right comes from his own words, in the sense that human rights must be respected and violations of these should be condemned "come from wherever they come.” But the Government of Gabriel Boric is not the only one that has received similar requests from Cuban citizens seeking to flee the island. Former President Sebastián Piñera found himself in the same situation and, even though his Government did not have the problem that Apruebo Dignidad has, since in his sector they have always condemned the Cuban regime, by overwhelming majority the requests for political asylum during his administration were rejected. The opposition's onslaught The deputy Cristián Labbé (UDI), from the Foreign Relations Commission and the Sports Commission, at the beginning of the week called on the President: “From the UDI we come to ask the President to please take and give asylum to the athletes Cubans who are breaking out of a dictatorship.” Labbé added that "no one wants to return to a dictatorship and what the President of the Republic has to do is be able to ensure the human rights of these athletes and be able to give them asylum as soon as possible." In National Renewal, meanwhile, it was the former secretary general, deputy Diego Schalper, who also called on the Government to accept these refugee requests as a political signal. “Law 20,430 gives them the possibility of requesting refuge in the country and, obviously, if that were their provision, it seems to me that the State of Chile and the Government of President Boric should send a signal in pursuit of human rights, in pursuit of democracy and, obviously, give political refuge to these athletes.” https://www.elmostrador.cl/noticias/pais/2023/11/10/en-los-gobiernos-de-pinera-se-acogio-solo-a-tres-cubanos-de-mas-de-4-500-solicitudes-de-asilo/

[Animals] What happened to the ocelots of the United States?
FNX Magokiler posted a topic in Animals
Just a few centuries ago, the boreal ocelot was a quintessential American cat, roaming places as diverse as Louisiana, Arkansas and Arizona. But decades of widespread hunting and habitat loss have reduced their numbers in the United States to fewer than a hundred individuals, which now roam the thorny thickets of southern Texas. They are divided into two po[CENSORED]tions, one living on private ranches and the other in the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge, located further south in the rapidly developing Rio Grande Valley along the Gulf Coast. Although ocelots are abundant in parts of Central and South America, the northern subspecies is endangered in the United States. These cats weighing about 11 kilos, known for their attractive spotted fur, face several challenges. Human development prevents the two American po[CENSORED]tions from mixing, making them vulnerable to inbreeding, which can end up harming their ability to reproduce. Collisions with vehicles are the main cause of death for animals, especially young males that leave in search of new territories, and the total po[CENSORED]tion of the United States is so small that a single tropical storm could wipe this feline off the map. coastal. To protect the species, in 2021 several non-governmental organizations, academic institutions and private owners launched a major effort to establish a new po[CENSORED]tion of ocelots in Texas, the goal of which is to increase the total number to at least 200 animals over a period of 10 years , the benchmark necessary to remove it from the list of endangered species. "We're optimistic," says Grant Harris, chief biologist for the Southwest U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. "That's how it should work: all these groups united by a common goal." One of the partners, the East Foundation, a Texas-based agricultural research organization that promotes land stewardship, has completed the first step of the project: extracting semen from wild Texas ocelots in hopes of breeding the feline in captivity. . By inseminating ocelots already in American zoos with semen taken from these Texas animals, experts could create a pool of genetically diverse animals to bolster the wild po[CENSORED]tion, says Ashley Reeves, a research veterinarian at the East Foundation. Over time, if the USFWS approves the plan, the team will reintroduce these cats to private lands not occupied by ocelots, which are further from the coast and its threatening storms. Cats provide key ecological benefits by keeping rodent po[CENSORED]tions in check, preventing smaller mammals from spreading unchecked and wreaking havoc on native thorn forests. https://www.nationalgeographic.es/animales/2023/10/ocelotes-causas-peligro-icono-estados-unidos -
Between teasers and leaks made in different media, much of the information about the facelift that will align the Kia Carnival with the rest of the Korean brand's new models is already known. Considering how strong the influence of the "opposites united" design language has been, some cars that were lost in the transition quickly catch up with their most recent iteration, the same one carried by all the brand's electric models. In the case of Carnival, the intricate design of the "tiger nose" grille and the luminous outline that shaped the lights is modified by a much straighter and more imposing grille, flanked by two vertical spotlights and the new lighting signature of the mark, the "star map." The influence of Hyundai's square shapes also seems to have reached Kia, with the redesign of the wheels, which would not look out of place on an eighties model. Behind, a less utilitarian and more futuristic design was chosen, which includes the redesign of the rear lights with a vertical addition, the relocation of the Kia license plate and insignia, plus a new bumper. In some versions (the Gravity package) 19" black wheels, dark chrome elements and sill plates are also visible, which complement a design that seems to have more of the robustness of an SUV than the fluidity of an MPV. Inside, the materials have been improved for a more luxurious look and some elements have been updated, although nothing in a very radical way. For example, the panoramic panel today has a more regular shape (without a visor for the cluster) and incorporates two 12.3" screens with more modern interfaces. The main button panel, the power button and the air conditioning were also updated for a more modern look. more minimalist. Many technologies that we have already seen in more modern Kias are also beginning to be integrated into Carnival, at least with availability in the Korean market. These include: Seats with Ergo Motion system OTA updates New voice commands 11" Head-up Display Expanded ambient lights Fingerprint authentication system UV-C sterilization cubicle (ideal for keys, phones, wallets, etc.) There are very luxurious versions, with "Business" type seats with various adjustment and climate control functions. The rear doors have electric windows and curtains. In terms of security, there are also updates to the brand's battery of assistance, including: Forward and reverse autonomous emergency braking Highway Driving Assist 2 (Level 2 semi-autonomous driving with extended functions) automatic high beams Safe exit assistant Lane maintenance Remote parking assistant (to get the car out of tight places) Cross traffic alert https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2023/11/10/kia-presenta-los-cambios-que-llevara-el-carnival-2025-en-corea

The Marca newspaper announced it on Sunday and this Thursday it became official. Diego Pablo 'Cholo' Simeone renews with Atlético de Madrid until 2027. The Argentine had a contract until the end of the season (June 2024), but the good numbers in this campaign, in the last Champions League match they beat Celtic 6-0, They have advanced this renewal. Cholo landed in the capital in December 2011. He is going to complete his 12th season as a colchonero coach, being one of the main architects of the club's most glorious years. This extension has peculiarities compared to the previous six (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2021) and is that it is for three years, instead of two, and is accompanied by a salary reduction, which had already been previously discussed ( 30%, which estimates that he will earn around 12 million euros per season). The latter is due to the new economic conditions of the entity. With this extension, Simeone becomes the coach who has coached the most games at Atlético (642 -380 wins, 145 draws and 117 losses-), surpassing Luis Aragonés (612). He is also the coach who has won the most titles, the sum of which amounts to a total of eight trophies: two leagues (2014/15 and 20/21), one Copa del Rey (2012/13), two Europa Leagues (2011/ 12 and 17/18), two European Super Cups (2012 and 2018) and one Spanish Super Cup (2014). If he fulfills this extension, his time as a coach, added to those who wore the player's shirt, will add up to a total of 20 seasons with the red and white team. He remembers all these years with Miguel Ángel Gil Marín To celebrate the signing of the contract, the Argentine had a talk with the CEO and the man who opted for him in 2011, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín. “15 years, it seems crazy, for the sector it is outrageous,” Gil Marín told Cholo. “I have to say 'thank you', I said it several times. This renewal is very important, we continue in a project that began many years ago. First, say what I feel, thank you for trusting me and us. All the people who accompanied us in all these years come to mind. All of them helped us find that path in which I am very happy. “I am happy where I am,” the Argentine was grateful. Marín highlighted Cerezo's stability and his good skills in directing the club, something that El Cholo corroborated: “I don't respond to others on the day of the game. That day, only Cerezo makes me laugh, he takes me out of that tension. The truth is that you need that image and that tranquility that he transmits. "He makes me feel good," said Simeone, who also wanted to thank him for his support and closeness "since his time as a footballer." https://www.infobae.com/espana/2023/11/10/el-atletico-de-madrid-renueva-a-simeone-hasta-2027/

The spiral of violence that drags the conflict between Israel and Palestine that increased weeks ago with the terrorist massacre of the Islamist militia of Hamas and the Israeli counterattack, led me to reflect on the invisible role of women in the scope of political justice, social and economic in the different wars existing in the world today. Almost 23 years have passed since the agenda of the United Nations Organization Women, Peace and Security (known as resolution 1325), urged the international community that it was not enough to just focus on the dynamics that underlie the conflict to manage the peace processes that guarantee a safe environment; but the need to include the perspective and contribution of women in them. To accept this proposal, women worked in networks that crossed borders, holding hundreds of meetings before achieving the institutionalization of demands and action plans in the field of peacebuilding with a gender perspective. These efforts ended with the commitment of the member states of the United Nations organization. Since the incorporation of the agenda, another 10 resolutions have been established. Among them, one that mentions the creation of a special representative of the Secretary General on sexual violence in these conflicts. Despite all the efforts made by women to integrate the gender dimension, during all these years, they have been absent in most peace processes. If we talk with figures, we can say that among the main peace processes produced between 1992 and 2019, only an average of 13% of the negotiators, 6% of the mediators and 6% of the signatories were women (Council on Foreign Relations 2022). What factors prevent women from being recognized and participating in peace processes? Consulting literature for this column, I came across analyzes by authors such as Sanam Anderlini, Birgit Brock-Utne and Peter Wallensten, who show that elitist power structures led by men lead to resistance and the perpetuation of sexism, to a masculinized perception. that the gender perspective does not fit into conflicts and wars or that peace processes are not the place to discuss gender issues. On the other hand, a construct that seems very interesting to me is the one that is related to the woman-peace/man-war dichotomy, installed in the international regulatory framework that leads, in addition to biases and stereotypes, to conclude that it is men who are who mostly exercise violence and, therefore, are better equipped to resolve the conflict. An idea that would reinforce that peace processes are events of masculinized elites, so the participation of women is almost irrelevant or merely testimonial. https://elpais.com/chile/2023-11-06/las-mujeres-como-constructoras-de-paz.html

The Avatar franchise has been with us for more than a decade and with two films behind it, many have always been surprised by the little impact it has had in the world of video games. Now, with the launch of Frontiers of Pandora, it seems that justice is being done with what is the highest-grossing film saga in history and that it does not seem that it will decline when the new continuations are released in the following years. Of course, the fact that it is not one of the franchises with the most games does not mean that some have not appeared since 2009, when the first film was released in theaters and which was a milestone, not only for its unquestionable success, but also for the way of telling us an incredible story thanks to computer-generated visual effects. Welcome to Pandora And today, to celebrate that we will soon have Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, and that it promises to be the most immersive video game experience in this saga so far, we have taken on the task of doing a brief review of all the video games in the franchise. by James Cameron that we have had so far. So, we begin with this walk through Pandora video games. Avatar The Game We began this review in 2009, the release date of the first film and where almost all of its video games came out. The highest-grossing film of all time had several titles and, in turn, each one with several versions. The main one was Avatar The Game, which came out at that time when every good movie had to have a video game to accompany it, but, unlike the others in the genre, it had an original story that served as a prequel to what happened. in James Cameron's film. The truth is that it was a third-person shooter that, without inventing the wheel, was very fun, while it took us a little deeper into the history of Pandora and the Na'vi. The versions for home consoles did not vary too much from each other. However, it is in the versions for portable consoles and Wii where we find the biggest differences, and that is that they are completely different games. To begin with, the Wii and PSP versions abandon the third-person shooter type gameplay and focus more on hand-to-hand combat and quick time events, while the Nintendo DS version was, in essence, a The Legend of Zelda, but in the Avatar universe. https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/todos-juegos-lanzados-avatar-james-cameron/?_gl=1*1qvrjvb*_up*MQ..*_ga*MjAwNTAwNzg5LjE2OTk1NTEzMTU.*_ga_QPM9B7CVR8*MTY5OTU1MTMxNC4xLjAuMTY5OTU1MTMxNC4wLjAuMA..

We have been commenting for some time that Intel's financial situation is quite bad, more so than it may seem. It was evident when they gave their NUC division to the manufacturer ASUS. Now, we have learned that Intel has discontinued its Cryo Cooling technology, which stopped being operational on July 1, 2023 and the last processors supported by this solution have been the Raptor Lake. The company has been in a fairly significant weight loss process for years. It all started when they were stuck for years in the 14nm node, something that caused them serious financial problems. They invested a lot of money in the 10nm node, what a cost to make it efficient for mass production. An accumulation of problems that meant selling its 5G chip division to Apple. They have subsequently sold their SSD and memory divisions. More recently they have given away their Mini PC division, as we have mentioned previously. Meanwhile, there have been dismissals disguised as friendly departures. Intel lowers the blinds on another of its divisions Surely Cryo Cooling technology doesn't sound familiar to you at all. It is a special cooling system that not many know and have adopted. Simply put, it is a cooling technology for processors that reduces the temperature to 0º C to improve the cooling of the processor. This technology was presented with the Comet Lake processors (10th Generation) so it has existed for 4 generations of processors. The duration of this solution is the same as the life of a company socket, two years. This technology is no longer supported by the 14th Generation Raptor Lake Refresh. As discovered by tweeter momomo_us, Intel's Cryo Cooling technology has stopped developing as of July 1. Despite this, they will continue to distribute functional, security and other updates until December 31 of this year. From then on, users with a Cryo Cooling solution will no longer be supported. The "problem" with this Intel technology is that it is not based solely on hardware. It is developed as a small ecosystem based on hardware, firmware and software, so that they work together. https://hardzone.es/noticias/perifericos/intel-cryo-cooling-tecnologia-descontinuada/

“Straight to the point: I am convinced that you are in a process of extreme narcissism. You vomit and attack, but there is also time for reflection. You are at the same height as (Gonzalo) Winter, (Carmen) Hertz. It's going to affect you, you're hurting yourself, it's going to affect your marriage and everything around you. I hope you end up with treatment, because you became obsessed with this, like you don't want to reflect, you became a fanatic, you are just like the extreme left. It's up to you, check, breathe, you're hurting yourself and you're not the same as before." The above is the transcription of an anonymous audio sent to the phone of the graduate in Philosophy and ex-conventionalist Teresa Marinovic Vial, who a few days ago announced that she will vote against the proposal for a new Constitution approved by the Republican Party and Chile Vamos en el Consejo Constitutional. Marinovic's political stance is well known. At the end of 2020 she was proposed by the Republican Party itself so that she could be included as a candidate for the Constitutional Convention, although she was finally registered on the Chile Vamos list, becoming a staunch opponent of the text that was finally rejected. However, she recently had a breakup with José Antonio Kast himself, whom she explicitly called to “guide” the group behind the threats she has received. virtual thuggery Although the Republican advisor Luis Silva called on those who are on “the same shore as the Communist Party” to rethink their vote, the truth is that Tere Marinovic declares herself diametrically opposed to the left that she has criticized so much in her opinion columns. . In any case, in conversation with El Mostrador, the ex-conventional member and director of the Nueva Mente Foundation – a conservative libertarian think tank – says that she is “trained” to endure the “virtual bullying” to which she has been exposed for going in against the Republican Party, although he admits that he is shocked that a political community for which he has voted would promote a campaign “of that nature.” According to Marinovic, in the party founded by José Antonio Kast, and chaired by Arturo Squella, “the position of some of his advisors is taking precedence, who believe that the presidential election depends on a victory of the 'For' and a rapprochement with Chile Vamos ”. This, in her opinion, is “political clumsiness” and a renunciation of the same thing that made them grow and win. https://www.elmostrador.cl/noticias/pais/2023/11/09/tere-marinovic-desafia-a-kast-y-le-lanza-dura-advertencia-el-poder-corrompe/

With 73 cat breeds recognized by the International Feline Association, it can be difficult to distinguish a Ragdoll from a Ragamuffin. However, most of us can spot a Siamese cat. The Siamese is one of the most easily recognizable breeds in the world, known for its dark eye masks, socks and patterns, called "points," that stand out against its cream-colored body and bright blue eyes. These characteristic points are due to a genetic mutation known as the Himalayan gene, which was discovered in the breed in 2005. This recessive gene, passed down from both parents, also gives cats a temperature-sensitive coat that can change color. In the womb, Siamese develop at a temperature of about 38 degrees Celsius, the normal temperature for a cat. Once born, all-white Siamese twins begin to get colder on their extremities, such as their tail, paws, ears, and face. These lower temperatures cause the Himalayan gene to activate the body's melanin, a pigment also found in people. That's why the bodies of warmer Siamese cats remain light, but their cooler parts darken as they mature. "You can see how they change," says Betsy Arnold, a veterinarian who runs an exclusive cat practice in Rochester, New York, and who began breeding Siamese cats as a teenager. At two weeks old, Arnold says, the dark hues begin to spread to her extremities. Around one month of age, its final color appears, which can be one of several varieties, including the blue point, the lilac point, the chocolate point and the seal point, which has a light cream-colored coat with dark brown nuances in the legs, tail, nose and ears. A lifelong influence The Himalayan mutation occurs naturally in domestic cats from South Asia, says Leslie Lyons, a feline geneticist at the University of Missouri (United States) who first identified the mutation in Siamese cats. Over time, selective breeding of strikingly pale, dark-tipped cats passed the gene on to different breeds, such as Siamese, Ragdolls, and Burmese. Mixed breeds can also carry the genetic mutation. The vibrant blue eyes of these cats are also due to the Himalayan gene, which influences the pigment in their eyes. The Himalayan mutation causes the coat to darken as the cat ages, although any type of trauma or change to the cat's coat can alter its shades. For example, if a Siamese cat undergoes surgery, an area of fur that has been shaved may darken again because the affected area is cooler while the hair grows back. Over time, the coat may become lighter again, Arnold says. In the 1920s, a Siamese cat living in Moscow who wore a jacket over a shaved shoulder grew white hair again, as that area stayed warmer. Later, the fur darkened again, according to the University of Alaska. https://www.nationalgeographic.es/animales/2023/10/gatos-siameses-como-por-que-cambian-color

The three-seat SUV was presented at a regional event held in San Pedro de Atacama, and will go on sale now through the website www.kiaonline.cl, with deliveries to customers by the end of December. It will be offered with the GT Line trim package, with four seating configurations, at a price of $94,990,000, although there is a launch bonus of five million pesos, leaving it at $89,990,000. And this price includes the Copec Voltex wallbox installed in your home, the first three free maintenances and one year of roadside assistance. As we always say in these cases of crazy prices, massifying electrification in Chile will cost blood, sweat and tears. Kia EV9: construction and dimensions The EV9 is the second member of Kia's EV family, and was unveiled earlier this year. It is the first electric SUV with three rows of seats, which will be available with six or seven seats, depending on the seating configuration chosen, combining a bold and clearly futuristic style, great interior versatility, connectivity and safety, as well as a range of class-leading autonomy. Like the EV6 and the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and 6, the EV9 was conceived from the group's electric global modular platform (E-GMP), which is characterized by a long wheelbase and a completely flat electrical architecture, which allows offering generous space for all occupants. The Kia EV9 has the following dimensions: 5,015mm long 1,980 mm wide 1,780 mm high 3,100 mm between the axles 333 liters of cargo volume in the rear trunk after the third run 828 liters of volume in rear trunk after second run 52 liters of cargo volume in the front frunk or trunk Kia EV9: the electrical mechanics Regarding the powertrain, it is worth noting that the battery is not the same as that of the EV6 since it is fourth generation, offering greater efficiency with a lower weight (566 kilos), and at the same time offering super-fast charging powers. Although in other markets the EV9 is offered with 2WD and AWD drive and with one or two motors, in Chile it will be available in a single version with AWD drive, 385 HP of power and more than 500 km of range on a charge. 800 volt electrical architecture 99.8 kWh capacity battery, with 456 cells grouped in 38 modules WLTP combined range: 505 km Engine 1 on the front axle: 141 kW (192 Hp) and 350 Nm Engine 2 on the rear axle: 141 kW (192 Hp) and 350 Nm System total: 282 kW (385 Hp) and 700 Nm AWD Drive Maximum speed: 200 km/h Acceleration 0 to 100 km/h: 5.3 seconds Maximum DC charging power: 240 kW (24 minutes from 0 to 80%) Maximum AC charging power: 10.5 kW (9.1 hours on 11 kW charger) https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2023/11/09/kia-ev9-en-chile-el-suv-familiar-del-futuro

For just over a month, the position of Barça F sports director has been vacant. Markel Zubizarreta announced on September 26 that the time had come to end his time at the culé club to seek new challenges, coinciding, furthermore, with the hurricane that occurred in the women's soccer team. For this reason, everyone pointed out that it would be the former Barça player who would land in La Roja, but that was not the case. At least, for now. However, the Blaugranas have made a move and have already announced who will take over as sports director of the women's team. This is an old acquaintance of Aitana Bonmatí, as well as other Barcelona players. Marc Vivés is the person who has chosen Barça F as the new sports director. "Now, with the help of Vivés, FC Barcelona incorporates a football professional from the elite, an academic and at the same time a football researcher with a long career in which over the last twenty years he has formed a profile "that the entity has understood that it fits perfectly with the needs it was looking for," reads the statement released by the club. To which they add: "The Barcelonan must be a promoter of the maintenance and improvement of one of the most valuable and successful sections that FC Barcelona has, the Women, current champion of Europe and the League, a tournament that continues to lead this year." And Vivés has an impeccable resume both in training and experience. Regarding his knowledge, he has a degree in Physical and Sports Education and a Doctor in this same area; He has the UEFA PRO title and the title of sports director organized by the RFEF. His professional career has also been linked to the academic world, since he is a university professor of the subject of football at the INEFC, director of the Professional Master's Degree in Football, organized by FC Barcelona; director of the Performance Master organized by the INEFC; pedagogical coordinator and professor of the FCF Coaching School; and technical director of the Soccer project at the University of Monterrey (Mexico). Facet as a selector and coach Although throughout his career, he highlights his role as a coach and selector. Between 2008 and 2011 he was the senior coach of the under-16 category of the Catalan Football Federation, and between 2012 and 2015, he made the jump to the under-18 team. Between 2015 and 2018 he was technical assistant of the Spanish U-17 and U-19 National Team, as well as technical director of the Catalan Football Federation. In this last stage, he coincided with Barça F players with whom he will now share a dressing room, such as Aitana Bonmatí, Patri Guijarro, Claudia Pina and Ona Batlle. Then, in 2018, his career took a 180-degree turn and he moved to Japan to serve as technical director of Vissel Kobe's Grassroots Football. For the following two seasons (19/21), he served as assistant coach of Vissel Kobe, and then He became head coach, a position he held until 2023. In addition, at the Japanese club he coincided with Andrés Iniesta and Bojan Krkic. https://www.infobae.com/espana/2023/11/09/quien-es-marc-vives-nuevo-director-deportivo-del-barca-f-viejo-conocido-de-aitana-bonmati-y-otras-jugadoras-azulgranas/

The prosecutor of the southern regional prosecutor's office Christian Toledo led a seizure in the offices of the Sanderson laboratory in Santiago and Concepción, as a result of the contamination of the Burkholderia bacteria in the serum used in the state health network, which was discovered by the Institute of Public Health (ISP). In both proceedings - judicially approved and the processing of which is confidential - notebooks, personal and corporate cell phones, pen drives and hard drives were seized from the headquarters. All of the above, with a view to establishing since when and what level of knowledge the executives had of microbiological antisepsis. The diligence carried out by Toledo is part of a complaint presented by the Ministry of Health last January, where hundreds of cases of infected people and more than 30 deaths were revealed, but between 2021 and 2022. In other words, the prosecutor had to reconstruct facts past However, the investigation took a turn on September 28 of this year, the day a crisis broke out between the head of the Minsal, Ximena Aguilera, and the director of the ISP, Rubén Verdugo, who ordered the removal of all Sanderson products from the network. hospitable The event caused scheduled operations in hospitals to be suspended, so Aguilera ordered that only the serum not be distributed. For this reason, Verdugo was asked to resign in mid-October and an administrative summary was initiated against him. Problems Since the beginning of the year, Toledo had to deal with the lack of information from the Minsal about those killed and infected by the Burkholderia bacteria. In fact, he sent a letter on July 21 of this year reiterating the delivery of data. Basically, the document reiterated its request in order to know what type of analysis and methodology the authority had used to reach the figure of 35 people who died as a result of the microbe, to which hundreds of infected people were added. At the same time, he asked for a copy of the clinical records of those who died between 2021 and 2022, but again he hit a wall. In this regard, the Minsal responded that it was information protected by the patient's rights law, which made its delivery impossible. For this reason, prosecutor Toledo had to take the long route, requesting information from each health entity and that is how he realized that both the deaths and the infected ranged from Antofagasta to the Magallanes Region. The Minsal's delay meant that on the afternoon of October 26, a reserved meeting was held in the National Prosecutor's Office building to improve coordination and the delivery of information. https://www.elmostrador.cl/noticias/pais/2023/11/09/fiscalia-allano-oficinas-de-sanderson-por-contaminacion-con-bacteria-mortal/

The last BlizzCon 2023 did not leave us much news in quantity, but it did in quality, with some that will mark us in the coming months. One of them was knowing the expansion strategy that World of Warcraft will receive in the year it turns 20 and, the truth is, it points to very good trends. So many, that even old MMO players decide to return to experiment with the new story arc between humans and orcs. If you remember what we told you yesterday, World of Warcraft The War Within will be the first of the three expansions of what they have called the World-Soul Saga and that will take us with the help of two of the best-known heroes of the game. None other than Anduin and Thrall who, from what it seems from the announcement trailer, will join forces in the fight against an even greater enemy. A very special gift in World of Warcraft The fact is that World of Warcraft The War Within will arrive at the end of next year and some details of the editions that will go on sale are already known and that, as is customary at Blizzard, they have digital goodies that we can redeem online and link to our ID. Now, for the first time in the MMORPG, North Americans will jump on the bandwagon of a trend that in 2023 is making a fortune among publishers around the world. Indeed, we are talking about early access to the game, which titles like Hogwarts Legacy, Starfield or Diablo IV itself have tried with really good results. Now, Blizzard had resisted doing so in World of Warcraft due to the obvious problem it causes by benefiting some players over others, who could obtain an important advantage within a title that revolves around the community and interaction between characters. Especially on PvP servers. In any case, as early access is something that we have all already internalized, World of Warcraft The War Within will include it in the Epic edition which will have a price of around 90 euros. Below, we will have the standard version, which costs about 50 euros, and in the middle of the two extremes, the Heroic, which for 70 bucks will bring digital gifts but not those three days in advance to enjoy the MMO before anyone else. The players don't know what to think That World of Warcraft decides to add this 72-hour early access for the first time in its 20-year history has caused some players to see it as progress and something normal, and others to directly oppose what Blizzard has decided. And you can imagine the reasons: three days of advantage in a title like this causes some users to reach the maximum level again much sooner than those who access it when it is officially put on sale, causing a comparative insult. However, there are also profiles that have shown their support for a measure that, obviously, will turn out very well financially for Blizzard since it has been shown that gifts like this, which we obviously pay for when we get the most expensive editions, encourage many players to drop an extra. https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/world-of-warcraft-regalo-especial-lanzamiento/

Are you thinking of purchasing a new computer? The first step is always to choose the components you want it to have so you can know what type of box to put them in. Although it may happen the other way around, and you are clear that you want a mini box, therefore, we will have to take into account the pros and cons of all of them before deciding. Today we are going to see these 3 types of cases (Mini, Mid and Full Tower) and we hope that at the end of the article you will be clear about which one you will choose for your new computer. There are notable differences that we have to take into account, especially thinking about the future, not just in the first assembly. Differences between box types Although we are all clear about the pros of each one, since obviously we would all want to have the same power as a supercomputer in a super small and easy to transport box, the thing is not as you might suppose, otherwise Full Tower boxes would not exist. , since for pleasure, few people want something very heavy. So let's go one by one looking at its details, since it is likely that you will not notice any of them until it is too late. Mini Box We start with the smallest option of all, as for pros, we all know which one it is, as we just mentioned, due to its size, very easy to transport thanks to its weight and dimensions. We could also talk about budget, since having less material, it also usually has a lower cost, although the difference between all of them, as well as the thousands of models that exist, means that we can acquire any of the 3 that we will see today economically, if that's the problem. Although it is true that at a general level, we will save money, since the need for fans and other components will be less than in a case that is several times larger in size. Now, what are its cons? Well, as you can imagine, the size. Just as it was a pro, it also becomes a drawback. It is likely that your computer, just as you have it in your head, fits perfectly and is super well assembled, however, we will be limited in many improvements. The expansion slots that our PC set will have force us not to be able to improve it much in the future, something that is very good for the present but that, thinking about later years, is not such a good choice. That is why you have to be very clear about what you want before purchasing a mini box, otherwise you may end up spending more. https://hardzone.es/noticias/componentes/tipos-caja-pc-mini-mid-full-tower/

Democrats and Yellows, the two groups that gained strength by calling to reject the proposal of the defunct Constitutional Convention under the slogan “one that unites us”, have now joined the “A favor”, the boat of the Republican Party and Chile Vamos, to approve the proposal approved in the Constitutional Council. Given this, Senator Ricardo Lagos Weber (PPD) expressed feeling sad at not understanding how people like his colleague, Senator Matías Walker (D), with whom at some point he walked “along the same bank of the river,” are now on sides. diametrically opposed. And for the PPD militant, the proposal for the new Constitution “is a text that does not satisfy.” In his opinion, Democrats and Yellows have to explain why they made that decision, but personally, he said in Al Pan Pan with Mirna Schindler, “it has been difficult for me to understand why some are there, being people I have known for years and I believe I have shared Common things". Discomfort and a kind of sadness are the words that Senator Lagos Weber chose to express his feelings regarding the position of Democrats and Yellows, where “people with whom we were pushing a car in the same direction are today on such different paths.” It is difficult for him to understand it, he acknowledged, but he assures that "that is what this constituent process has done: that people who walked along a path, not on the same path, but on one side of the river, today we are on the other side of the river." In that sense, “this text clearly fails to unify,” declared the PPD legislator, although he stressed that he does not know what will happen in the plebiscite on December 17 and does not venture with a forecast, but, according to Lagos Weber, “ I think we have a text that failed to meet the objective, which was the second chance, that we are going to have 'one that unites us.'" The reasons? “There is a sector that took the ball home,” just as in the previous process, argued the senator, for whom if the proposal is approved “we will be left with this Constitution that I do not share,” but if it is rejected, “it will be "Open the process for later." Or, perhaps, he warned, “it's not even what Chileans want.” Republican Party “is going to step on the huasca” if the opposition wins Lagos Weber affirmed that this second process was not to “approve to reform.” He said, “we had to do it right,” because this was the last chance we had. “I think this is a failure, as simple as that, and it is difficult for me to understand why anyone believes that this text is better than the current one,” he stated. And he explained: “Putting contributions into question, questioning the Social and Democratic State of Law, focusing on women's reproductive rights on the issue of abortion on three grounds, to mention a few things, I believe that this generates uncertainty. And we can't go back. This is debatable and I have to respect the vote of Chileans on December 17, but if the responsibility of proposing something was in one sector, that sector failed.” https://www.elmostrador.cl/noticias/pais/2023/11/08/lagos-weber-lamenta-que-matias-walker-haya-cambiado-politicamente-y-hoy-este-al-otro-lado-del-rio/

You only have to look at the sky and the sea to think that nature seems to favor blue, just like us humans. But this is not the case: the reality is that this color is rare in nature, especially in "a blue-violet hue similar to the color of electric sparks," which is how a team of researchers has described a new species of tarantula. from southern Thailand. The spider, which can measure almost 12 centimeters, sports iridescent neon-colored veins on its legs, back and mouthparts. The specimen, called Chilobrachys natanicharum, was already known in the pet trade as the electric blue tarantula, but a recent study published in the journal Zookeys has finally confirmed that it is a unique species. According to Sarah J. Kariko, an evolutionary biologist at Harvard University (United States), of the 900 known species of tarantulas, only 4% have blue coloration. Although pigments form other colors in animals, such as red and yellow, the process is different with blue. When light hits them, the cells' nanostructures reflect a blue color to our eyes, explains Kariko, who was not involved in the new study. These structural colors often create iridescence, says Ling Li, an associate professor at Virginia Tech in the United States who collaborates with Kariko on the study of spider colors. "It's like a peacock feather. If you change the angle, the color will change a little," while colors made with pigment don't change with viewing angle. A rare forest find The tarantula is also the first to be discovered in a mangrove forest in Thailand, Narin Chomphuphuang, director of the study and a phytopathologist at Khon Kaen University in Thailand, explains by email. For the study, Chomphuhuang and his colleagues made an expedition to the mangroves of Phang-Nga province, searching at night among the wet, muddy vegetation for the tarantula's telltale sign: the cobwebs covering its burrow. In this case, the team discovered a blue tarantula in the hollow of a tree, which they had to climb to attract the animal. Another expedition revealed that the spider lived in evergreen trees, a separate ecosystem. "We were amazed to discover that they can also thrive in highland evergreen forests. The incredible adaptation of this spider is fascinating." https://www.nationalgeographic.es/animales/2023/09/nueva-especie-tarantula-color-azul-electrico-tailandia

As context, this second generation of the Creta arrived in Chile in 2020 and represented a drastic change compared to the insipid first generation, including a design with a lot of personality and greater content. We tested it during 2021 and you can read our impressions in this note. Hyundai Creta 2024: dimensions and design Length: 4,315 mm Width: 1,790 mm Height: 1,630 mm Wheelbase: 2,610 mm Trunk: 416 L The dimensions of the Creta are maintained, except for some differences in the general length resulting from the new mask and a minimal cut in height (thousandths). Where the changes are is in its front, completely inspired by that of the Tucson with the daytime use lights camouflaged between the parametric pieces that give shape to the grill. The main lights are lower and very far to the sides. The lower air inlet is also more robust, with more marked lines. At the back, only the connection between the headlights changes with a remodeling of the trunk that gives more prominence to the car's logos. There are also new wheel designs and a black roof option, accompanied by darkened logos and black mirror caps. The brand will offer three levels of equipment. Plus versions offer: LED DRL Lights LED taillights Main projectors with automatic start Electric mirrors 17" two-tone wheels The Design and Premium versions add Full LED lights and the black/dark chrome pack. Only the Premium has a two-tone body and panoramic roof. Hyundai Creta 2024: interior and equipment Inside, some controls such as the air conditioning are updated and more finishes of the type that we don't like (the "piano black") are added. Additionally, the two-tone package is replaced with black. The rest is preserved as we knew it before, from the steering wheel to the vents. The base Plus model offers: Air conditioning with rear air vents Electric windows with "Auto down" function for driver Multifunction leather steering wheel with height adjustment Cruise control (CVT) fabric tapestry Analog instrument panel with 3.5¨ on-board computer Multimedia system with 8" screen Bluetooth USB (x3) Six speakers Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto backup camera Wireless charger Start button with smart key https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2023/11/08/hyundai-creta-2024-en-chile-con-el-influjo-del-tucson

“Don't worry, I'm going to break it,” Álvaro Djaló told his group of friends when he said goodbye to them and headed to Braga to do the preseason. Three months later, nine goals and three assists, the omens of the footballer of Guinean parents, born in the capital in Spain. Raised in the surroundings of Bilbao and who at the age of 17 left to try his luck in Portugal. His records place him as one of the biggest dangers for Braga who visit Real Madrid this Wednesday (9:00 p.m.) at the Santiago Bernabéu. Djaló debuted in the Portuguese First Division on February 12, just nine months ago. And he did it at the age of 23, an age that in this fast-paced football, with 17-year-old teenagers stepping on the grass of the elite, is almost not considered young. Until the beginning of this campaign, little had been heard of the name of the fast Spanish winger. He was one of those talents reserved for coffee growers in the European leagues. However, he has gone from zero to one hundred at the same dizzying and vertical pace with which he performs on the green. “I have always been more of a Barça fan” Djaló is a street player, with no complexes, a virguero who loves dribbling that he enjoys when he has the ball. “I am a playful soccer player,” he defines himself. “I have always liked playing in the street, without rules, without position, expressing yourself how you like with your friends, playing games with adults. That demands more of you. The street has taught me that it's okay to miss a dribble. Some lose a ball and collapse. In that aspect, I am very different,” he says. This Wednesday is a special meeting for him, having been born in Madrid, and his family. https://www.infobae.com/espana/2023/11/08/djalo-el-aficionado-del-barca-que-amenaza-al-real-madrid-en-champions-con-el-braga-y-esta-a-las-puertas-de-la-seleccion/
