The latest Genshin Impact 2.5 Phase 2 banner event is nearly here, and while it doesn’t boast any new characters it does at least give players a chance to once again pick po[CENSORED]r characters they may have missed in the JRPG – such as Kokomi and Raiden Shogun. While the Genshin Impact 2.5 banner event released in mid-February – and brought with it new character Yae Miko to one of the best anime games on PC – this week will see the release of this banner’s Phase 2. This consists of reruns of certain new characters to give players another shot at picking them up, similar to 2.4’s banner release in January. Aside from the 5-star characters Raiden Shogun and Kokomi, 4-star characters Bennett, Xinyan, and Kujou Sara will all have higher drop rates for the duration of Genshin Impact’s 2.5 Phase 2 banner – along with the events “Drifting Luminescence” and “Reign of Serenity”. After this, it is not certain when these characters will return, so make sure to pick them up if you haven’t done so already. GENSHIN IMPACT 2.5 PHASE 2 BANNER RELEASE TIME The Genshin Impact Kokomi and Raiden Shogun rerun banner release time is Tuesday, March 8, at 6pm EST / 3pm PST / 5pm GMT – and this will run until March 29. Aside from characters, you’ll also have the chance to earn multiple weapons too during this time – including the 5-star Engulfing Lightning polearm and Everlasting Moonglow catalyst, as well as the 4-star Akuoumaru claymore, Mouun’s Moon bow, Lion’s Roar sword, Favonius Lance polearm, and Sacrificial Fragments catalyst. The next step for Genshin Impact is 2.6, of course, and that should bring a number of new characters to the game – including Ayato, Yelan, Heizou, and more. https://www.pcgamesn.com/genshin-impact/2-5-phase-2-banner-release-time

They set off into the night, her escalating anxiety only further keying him up. Their coitus gets interrupted when she reveals that she is actually an undercover police constable. When Bhumika (Aaditi Pohankar) turns her gun on Sasya (Vijay Varma), he is surprised as well as aroused – a dance that helps the first season of the Netflix series She maintain its poise even in its frequently unbalanced moments. Profane games abound in the seven-episode show, which has been created by Imtiaz Ali, co-written by him and Divya Johry, and directed by Arif Ali and Avinash Das. She marks Imtiaz Ali’s streaming debut and a shift into uncharted territory for a director best known for popcorn romances. Co-director Avinash Das made the stirring Anaarkali of Aarah (2017), about a dancer’s struggle for justice and dignity. Freed from the constraints of what is considered acceptable in the movies, the creators roll out the dirty talk, the lustful deeds, and the suggestion that sexual slavery is a precondition for the liberation of body and soul. Bhumika is pushed into weaponising her gender by her boy scout handler Fernandez (Vishwas Kini). Fernandez wants to know whether Sasya and his boss, Nayak (Kishore Kumar G), are planning something big. The constable turns out to be a suitable, if somewhat awkward, soldier. Her husband has rejected her for being sexually frigid. Her sister appears to be turning tricks to support the family. Her hypochondriac mother is a drag, both in Bhumika’s life and in the series. Bhumika’s thawing begins with her initial, fumbling encounter with Sasya, which, although it barely qualifies as erotic, touches her in ways that she hadn’t anticipated. Sasya’s crude observation especially resonates with Bhumika – you have a scorpion between your legs. Described as a master of disguise and multiple identities, Sasya also has the fevered imagination of the excitable scriptwriter looking to add extra layers of flesh to the crime thriller template. He is Mills & Boon with lashings of S&M. You have no idea what I am going to do to you tonight, he tells Bhumika when they first meet. Another Sasya pick-up line for the ages: nobody looks at you as I do. Is the bait going to become the baited? Will Bhumika’s newfound desirability improve her self-esteem and free her of her reserve? Her predicament holds for about four episodes before the plot goes off the rails. By the time Bhumika finally meets the shadowy Nayak, She has collapsed into a regular drug bust exercise with the added insight that power is the best aphrodisiac. The idea of sex as a weapon and then as an equaliser has been explored with varying degrees of sophistication in the movies. The arthouse exploitation drama The Night Porter (1974) daringly explores the taboo romance between a Nazi jailer and his Jewish prisoner. In Out of Sight (1998), Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney burn up the screen as a marshal and a bank robber.

BANGKOK — Thousands of weary residents are leaving Hong Kong every day as the city continues to battle its worst wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. But an exodus of Hong Kong residents has been taking place for a couple of years, data suggests. Experts say residents are leaving because of the city’s recent political unrest and ongoing restrictions due to the pandemic. Recent data According to immigration data, over 94,000 Hong Kong residents have departed the city via Hong Kong International Airport in 2022 alone, with 26,000 residents arriving. It is not clear whether the departures are permanent or temporary. Hong Kong has required lengthy quarantines for residents and professionals entering the city making it an unattractive prospect for residents to travel overseas. Vera Yuen, a business lecturer at the Hong Kong University (HKU), said the length of the departures would depend on two factors. “Regarding this wave of exodus, there are two main reasons, the first related to the political developments in Hong Kong, and the second related to the tightening of travel restrictions and social distancing measures in response to COVID-19. The first is likely to be a permanent change, and the second is likely to be temporary.” “If the current travel restrictions and quarantine measures remain for a sustained period, these temporary exoduses may become permanent,” she said. COVID-19 Hong Kong is facing its worst coronavirus infection rate to date. With the rapid spread of the highly transmissible omicron variant, the city has recorded more cases in 2022 than in the previous two years combined. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam has ordered compulsory testing for all 7.4 million residents in March, while rumors of lockdowns have unsettled the po[CENSORED]tion with residents scrambling for food and resources, leaving some supermarket shelves empty. Julius, a former landscape project manager from Hong Kong, told VOA he is considering leaving the city. “We used to have a large amount of civil societies, NGOs, or even elected legislative and district councillors to provide neighborhood aid. But after the introduction of [the] national security law, disqualification of councillors and dissolution [of] the civil society, this is one of the reasons that Hong Kong people are now hoarding food and daily supplies.” “It's hard for us to look for jobs. There's no similar positions available and due to the epidemic, other industries are streamlining their manpower as well,” he added. Following the anti-government protests in 2019, Beijing enacted a national security law in Hong Kong. It strictly prohibits acts deemed as secession, subversion, foreign collusion and terrorism, carrying a maximum of life in prison. Street protests have stopped, while civil societies and independent media outlets have closed. At least 150 dissidents have been arrested, including dozens of democratic lawmakers. Discontent with living in Hong Kong under the new conditions was shown in Hong Kong’s legislative council elections in December, with only 30.2% of the po[CENSORED]tion casting votes. Po[CENSORED]tion decline 2020 According to data released by the Census and Statistics Department, Hong Kong recorded a po[CENSORED]tion decline of 1.2% in 2020, approximately 89,200 people, the same year the security law took effect. A Hong Kong government representative denied the po[CENSORED]tion decline was due to the law. But Yuen said the recent po[CENSORED]tion decline is no surprise to the pro-democracy opposition, many of whom are in jail and are facing charges under the security law, following their roles in the protests two-and-half years ago. “[It is] not surprising to the opposition. The surprise is that the change came so quickly.” Yuen said the trend of people leaving Hong Kong would continue amid recent political trauma in the city. She referred to the Tiananmen Square crackdown in Beijing in 1989, when China’s armed forces killed an unknown number of pro-democracy demonstrators following large-scale demonstrations. The 'Pillar of Shame' statue, a memorial to those killed in the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown, is removed from the University of Hong Kong, Dec. 23, 2021. “Estimates suggested that after Tiananmen, around half-a-million Hong Kongers emigrated in the ensuing years.” “It will [continue]. There is a lot to prepare for migration. Early adopters prompt late adopters to think of leaving. What Hong Kong society will become and how the government will govern will further affect the intention to leave or to stay.” BNO, Cheng Hong Kong was a British colony until 1997 when the city was returned to China. Following the implementation of the security law in 2020, Britain offered a lifeboat plan to millions of Hong Kong residents. British National Overseas (BNO) passport holders from Hong Kong now can work and study in Britain for five years and can apply for citizenship afterward. A recent amendment by British lawmakers has extended the plan to Hong Kong residents 18 to 25 years old. According to data from the British government as of December, 103,900 BNO applications had been received. “The U.K. has been the most favored destination for Hong Kong people who plan to leave,” Joseph Cheng, a political analyst formerly of Hong Kong, told VOA. “The deteriorating pandemic situation in Hong Kong has become a further push factor as small businesses fail and job losses increase.” “Given the expectation that Beijing’s Hong Kong policy will be maintained, the momentum of the exodus will not decline for at least one or two years,” Cheng added. Economy But Yuen believes Hong Kong is still an attractive option for professional talent. In 2019, Hong Kong’s economy dropped into a two-year recession before rebounding last year with 6.4% growth. “If the pandemic measure will be eased and business is still thriving in Hong Kong, top talents will come back.” “For homegrown top talents, still the low tax and competitive wage in Hong Kong is quite attractive. If they choose to leave, they will likely make a big monetary sacrifice on top of separating from their families and friends. It’s never easy.” https://www.voanews.com/a/hong-kong-migration-continues-amid-pandemic-politics/6471647.html

Stumps Australia 271 for 2 (Khawaja 97, Labuschagne 69*, Warner 68, Nauman 1-49) trail Pakistan 476 for 4 dec by 205 runs Usman Khawaja fell agonisingly short of a century in the country of his birth, but an under-pressure Australia mustered a strong batting response on the third day of the first Test against Pakistan. In reply to Pakistan's massive first innings of 476, Australia were 271 for 2 at stumps in their long road back into the series-opener in Rawalpindi. Marnus Labuschagne, the No.1-ranked Test batter in the world, lived up to top billing and relished the flat pitch to be unbeaten on 69 while Steven Smith also looked untroubled on 24 not out at stumps. Just before the close, Smith, who averaged just 30 in the Ashes at home last summer, was left startled after Shaheen Shah Afridi lost control of a full toss which was deemed a no-ball, with the left-arm quick also receiving a warning. Play ended an hour early due to bad light for the second consecutive day, although 72 overs were bowled on a day three predicted to be impacted by rain. After enduring almost two full days in the field during a tough start to their first overseas tour since mid-2019, Australia's top-order responded to the challenge with gusto to claw back into the historic contest. They showed an aggressive appetite in a contrast to Pakistan's top three's measured batting, as openers Khawaja and David Warner would have been left frustrated not replicating the big tons of Azhar Ali and Imam-ul-Haq. Recalled as opener, Khawaja, who was on the cusp of a third Test century in five innings since his comeback, was dismissed on 97 by left-arm spinner Nauman Ali after bungling a reverse-sweep which hit the glove and popped to short leg. The originally not out decision on the field was overturned after replays showed that the ball had hit high on the glove of Khawaja, who had until then played the risky stroke to good effect throughout his 159-ball innings. Having quickly mustered 70 in the first session, Khawaja was held in check after lunch by tighter Pakistan bowling as the hosts hit back by removing Australia's openers during a combative second session. After a brisk 156-run opening partnership, where Australia's aggression rattled an increasingly wayward Pakistan attack, Warner fell for 68 having missed a skidding delivery from offspinner Sajid Khan which smashed his middle stump. Having started slowly, Warner showcased renowned aggression as his innings wore on, but might rue backing away in an error of judgement. But Labuschagne, who has played just seven of his 24 Tests away from Australia, looked in ominous form, mixing gorgeous drives with reverse-sweeps to negate the spinners. He had looked less comfortable at the start of his innings when he was pitted in an intriguing contest with quick Naseem Shah, who hit him with a thunderbolt on the arm during a withering spell in the second session. Labuschagne struggled initially against left-armer Nauman, who had a disastrous spell pre-lunch, but settled and unleashed his reverse-sweep effectively against the offspin of Sajid, who had started to conjure spin off the flat pitch. Labuschagne and Smith, who traditionally bat so well in tandem, will be aiming to build on their blossoming 68-run partnership with Australia still needing work to do to approach Pakistan's huge total. But it was a patchy performance from Pakistan's bowlers who created more opportunities than Australia's pedestrian effort with the ball, as they mostly struggled to rein in the scoring. They will especially rue reprieving Khawaja on 22 when a luckless Afridi set him up perfectly with a full-pitched delivery, only for Fawad Alam to shell a straightforward chance at gully. Pakistan lost their early momentum after Afridi and Naseem conjured pace, bounce and movement in a blistering start. Helped by cool and cloudy conditions, Afridi found away swing and bowled a gem of an opening over to Warner to kick-start a dangerous spell. After a tough initiation where he scored just 11 off 45 balls, Warner cracked Naseem for consecutive boundaries through the off side to get him rolling. The fired-up quick then went around the wicket and struck Warner on the back of the shoulder with a nasty bouncer. Naseem then went down the pitch to give him an earful only for Warner to diffuse the situation with a laugh. The barnstorming morning session yielded 138 runs and contrasted with a dour opening two days, when an unwavering Pakistan had blunted tight bowling and batted for 162 overs. And although Australia were unable to maintain that rapid scoring pace after both openers fell, but should be pleased with their first dominant day of the series on their first tour to Pakistan since 1998. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/australia-in-pakistan-2021-22-1288300/pakistan-vs-australia-1st-test-1288310/match-report-3

Here are the latest developments on day 11 of the invasion: Lull in major ground offensives against key cities, including capital Kyiv Heavy bombing reported in Irpin on the outskirts of the capital A ceasefire announced in Mariupol collapses for a second time Ukraine accuses Russia of striking hospitals, nurseries, and schools Ukrainian counter-offensive near Kharkiv reportedly reaches the Russian border Russia launched its attack in the early hours of 24 February from three main directions: north, south and east. Since then, troops have poured into Ukraine and targets across the country have been struck by air strikes and artillery attacks. On Sunday, Ukraine's deputy prime minister said Russia was striking civilian targets, including hospitals, nurseries, and schools. The World Health Organization has confirmed health facilities are being attacked. The UK Ministry of Defence says Russian forces targeting "po[CENSORED]ted areas" in response to Ukraine's resistance. The United Nations has said at least 350 civilians have been killed so far, although the true numbers are probably "considerably higher". The fight for Kyiv Russian attempts to take Kyiv from the north have stalled in recent days after facing strong resistance from Ukrainian forces. Operations against the capital have made little progress in the past 24 hours, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), with no major ground offensives launched on any major cities. This could mean Russian forces may have entered a brief operational pause, analysts say, as they prepare to resume attacks on Kyiv and other key locations. The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) says the front of a long convoy of Russian military vehicles remains in this area and has made little progress in recent days. Video shows extent of Russian military convoy near Kyiv Aerial attacks on the city have continued and the key Hostomel airport remains contested. Irpin, a town 20km (12 miles) north-west of Kyiv, has been heavily damaged by artillery and air strikes. Analysts say the aim of the Russian forces is to envelop and eventually encircle the city. Strike from the north Chernihiv, to the north east of Kyiv, was the initial focus of Russian attempts to push south towards Kyiv. The city has faced a barrage of aerial attacks, with several residential areas reduced to rubble, but it remains in Ukrainian hands. The ISW says Russian activity in this area has remained limited in recent hours. Russian troops initially made quick gains advancing from Belarus down the west side of the Dnieper river via Chernobyl. However, the MoD says the main body of the large Russian column advancing on Kyiv remains over 30km (19 miles) from the centre of the city. Strike from the east Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine, has faced intense aerial bombardment in recent days. Large residential areas in the city have been hit by artillery rounds, which UN prosecutors are now investigating as a possible war crime. Russian forces are continuing to use air, artillery, rocket and missile fire against the city - possibly to prepare for a future ground assault, analysts at ISW say. But a Ukrainian counter-offensive near Kharkiv damaged Russian front-line units, according to the ISW, and there are claims Ukrainian forces pushed the Russians back to the border north west of Kharkiv. Hundreds of Russian reservists have been seen near the border at Belgorod in western Russia, the ISW says, likely to be used as replacements for casualties among ground forces units fighting near Kharkiv. There are also thought to be about 15,000 Russian-backed separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk, who may help a Russian advance. Ukraine believes the figure is higher. Analysts also believe the Russians may be trying to establish a link between forces east of Khakiv and those in northern Luhansk to prepare for further advances towards the west. Strike from the south The most significant areas under Russian control at the moment are in the south of Ukraine. Russian troops took control of Kherson, the first major city to fall, earlier in the week and several other cities in the region have been surrounded. A temporary ceasefire in Mariupol, encircled for several days, and nearby Volnovakha collapsed on Saturday after both sides accused each other of breaching it. A second ceasefire announced in Mariupol on Sunday also broke down. Mariupol is a key port city and if the Russians take it, it would create a land bridge between Crimea and territory held by pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk. The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, was seized by Russian troops on Friday after an intense battle on the site. In the south west, the ISW says Russian troops around Kherson are likely preparing to resume offensives against Mykolayiv and Odesa in the south. Thousands flee across borders Since the invasion began, more than 1.5 million people have fled Ukraine, according to the United Nations. It's the fastest-growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. The European Union estimates that up to four million people may try to leave the country because of the Russian invasion. Refugees are crossing the borders to neighbouring countries to the west, such as Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova. Vulpes zerda is more commonly referred to as the fennec fox. Fennec foxes are 2-3 lb. canines with ears as large as 6 inches in length from Africa. Fennec foxes can make great pets since they can be easily trained to use a litter box and are fed an accessible high-quality dog or cat food, such as the Mazuri Exotic Canine Diet. Quick Facts About Fennec Foxes Fennecs can be found purring like a cat when they are happy. They are very social animals and live in colonies in the wild of up to 10 other foxes. They are listed as threatened in the wild by CITES. Fennec foxes are the smallest wild canid. During breeding season, vixens may develop “love handles,” or alopecia on their sides. Vixens are similar to felines in that they are seasonally polyestrous. 8 Things to Know Before Adopting a Desert Fox Fennecs must remain warm and will shiver if the air temperature goes below 68 degrees Fahrenheit. They are nocturnal, but do like to lie out in the sun. Fennec foxes can climb out of outdoor enclosures, and dig up to twenty feet underground a night, so it is important to provide a secure area for them to exercise in. They have a scent gland located on the tip of their tail that can give off a musky odor when the fox is startle. Fennecs can survive up to 14 years in captivity if well cared for. Fennecs can also be fed supplemental fruits, raw meat, veggies, crickets, mealworms, eggs, and rodents alongside their formulated diet.

See-through charging case and earpieces on the Nothing Ear 1 In much the same way that the OnePlus One started out with offering premium design and specifications for a firmly mid-range price, the Nothing Ear 1 is an impressive offering on paper that doesn't cost a lot of money. Much of its impact comes from design, particularly the transparent stalks and charging case of the Nothing Ear 1. This isn't the first time transparency has been used as a differentiator, but it's very well executed on the Ear 1. The earpieces of the Nothing Ear 1 look nothing like the early concept renders we saw, but this isn't a bad thing at all. The finished product retains transparent plastic, although it is limited to just the stalks of the earpieces; the casings are opaque. Nothing has gone with in-canal ear tips for a snug and noise isolating fit. You can see the internal components, the microphones, and the Nothing Ear 1 logo inside the stalks. Each earpiece weighs a convenient 4.7g, while the charging case weighs 57.4g. While most earphones have distinct ‘L' and ‘R' markings to point out which earpiece goes where, the Nothing Ear 1 uses colour coding instead. A red dot signifies the right earpiece, while a white dot signifies the left. This might take a bit to get used to, but I eventually got accustomed to the design and colour coding system. The outer sides of the stalks on each earpiece are flat and touch-sensitive for controls. The upper part – the area surrounding the colour dot – is sensitive to taps to control playback as well as ANC and hear-through modes. Swiping up and down on the long part of the stalk on either earpiece controls the volume. While the volume and play/ pause/ call answer controls are not changeable, triple-tap and long-press gestures can be customised through the companion app. The charging case of the Nothing Ear 1 looks as impressive as the earpieces, if not more so. The lid is entirely clear, as is a part of the bottom. Running diagonally down the middle of the case is the actual hardware: the battery, charging points, and circuitry. The earpieces latch onto the case magnetically and at an angle, and indentations on the lid hold them in place when closed. On the side of the case are the USB Type-C port for charging and the pairing button. Usefully, there's also Qi wireless charging on the case. However, the sheer size of the 570mAh battery and the generous amount of empty space on the inside make the case rather large, and not very pocketable. This won't be too much of a problem if you slip it into a backpack or purse, but it's a bit too large to conveniently carry in a pocket along with other things such as a wallet or smartphone. The Nothing Ear 1 app, available for iOS and Android, lets you customise and control certain settings and features of the headset, as well as update its firmware. You can switch between ANC and transparency modes, choose either of two noise cancellation intensity levels, and adjust the equaliser preset for the sound. You can also adjust the gesture controls, turn on or off the in-ear detection, loudly ring the earpieces when in Bluetooth range to help you find them, and check the battery levels of the earpieces and charging case individually. It's a useful, well-designed app that I quite enjoyed using. It's worth mentioning here that there's no support for voice assistants on the Nothing Ear 1, which is quite disappointing. The Nothing Ear 1 has 11.6m dynamic drivers, and uses Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity with support for the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. The earpieces are IPX4 rated for water resistance. Nothing claims up to 40db of noise level reduction using the active noise cancellation. Google Fast Pair is claimed to be supported, but I wasn't able to use this to pair my review unit with an Android device. The sales package includes a charging cable with a transparent outer coating, and a total of three pairs of silicone ear tips including the medium-sized tips already attached to the earpieces. Battery life on the Nothing Ear 1 is decent enough for the price, with the earphones running for around four hours per charge with the ANC on and the AAC Bluetooth codec in use. The charging case added an impressive five additional full charges for a total battery life of around 23-24 hours per charge cycle. There's also fast charging when using a cable to charge the case, with Nothing claiming a little under an hour of listening with ANC on with 10 minutes of charging of the earpieces. 10 minutes of charging for the case promises around six hours of listening for the earpieces with ANC on, with the earphones charging quickly inside the case while it's plugged in. As with most true wireless earphones, even connecting the cable to the USB port of your laptop is enough to quickly charge the case. The Nothing Ear 1 is an all-rounder The most striking aspect of the Nothing Ear 1 is its design, but that isn't all these earphones are about. With decent sound quality and active noise cancellation performance, the Nothing Ear 1 offers a wholesome and all-round experience for the price. Although there is no support for advanced Bluetooth codecs, and better-sounding earphones are available at around the same price, the overall experience comes together quite well. I had the Nothing Ear 1 paired with an Apple iPhone 12 mini (Review) for much of the review, listening to music and audiobooks, as well as taking calls during my daily exercise routine. Although I sometimes felt that the earphones didn't get loud enough even at the highest volume, particularly when listening to audiobooks, they performed equally well in all situations. Starting with music, I listened to Je M'amuse by Caravan Palace, and what immediately struck me was the balanced, spacious sound from the Nothing Ear 1. The retro-sounding introduction to this track was nicely detailed, quickly giving way to the gentle, refined electronic bass. The different styles and elements in this track played well together, with frequencies across the range sounding detailed and clean throughout. Even the faint details in this track were easy to pick up, as were the infrequent but peppy vocals. Its busy and lively nature demanded detail, balance, and cohesiveness, which the Nothing Ear 1 largely delivered without much trouble at all. This was also audible with tracks such as the cheerful sample-based Subways by The Avalanches, with which the Nothing Ear 1 was able to use its excellent soundstaging and detail to bring out the true mood and feel. That said, listeners looking for outright attack and aggression might not find the balanced nature of the sound very attractive. The earphones do seem to have some flexibility in adjusting to the nuances of various tracks, but not to as impressive a degree as I've heard on high-end options such as the Apple AirPods Pro. Listening to Fire by Ferry Corsten, the Nothing Ear 1 did seem to bump up the bass a bit for this fast-paced trance track, and I did enjoy listening to it on the earphones. However, the Nothing Ear 1 seems to be a bit held back by its hardware and tuning here; the earphones simply couldn't adjust to the pace and drive the track required. Although the AAC codec's natural limitations may be a big part of the reason for this, the single dynamic driver in each earpiece also can't quite match up to what the (more expensive) Oppo Enco X manages to achieve with its dual-driver setup and Dynaudio tuning. There's a lot to like about the Nothing Ear 1, especially given its very competitive pricing in India, but comparisons with more expensive options will see it falling short. Active noise cancellation on the Nothing Ear 1 is customisable, with two intensity levels to choose from. While many people might prefer the milder setting for generally quiet environments, I much preferred the full intensity setting. The quality of the ANC on the earphones is very good for the price, nearly matching up to more premium options such as the Oppo Enco X and Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro in reducing both indoor and outdoor noise. The noise cancellation had a gentle but effective approach, making a noticeable difference in reducing sounds such as air conditioners and ceiling fans, as well the general hum of the urban outdoors. The transparency mode was very good as well, offering a natural and subtle hear-through, much unlike the excessive hear-through I've heard on most true wireless earphones across price segments. Call and connection quality on the Nothing Ear 1 was very good as well, and I had no trouble using these earphones for calls both indoors and outdoors. Connection stability was good at distances of up to 12 feet or so from my paired phone, and I didn't have any trouble even when moving between rooms. Verdict Despite this being its first product, Nothing has done exceptionally well with the Ear 1 true wireless earphones. There's little to complain about – this headset offers balanced and detailed sound, good active noise cancellation, decent features, and excellent design, all at a very competitive price of Rs. 5,999 in India. If you're shopping for mid-range true wireless earphones, this should be high on your list of options to consider. There are better-sounding options available at similar prices right now, such as the Lypertek Tevi and Samsung Galaxy Buds+, but the Nothing Ear 1 offers better design and features, plus active noise cancellation, making it the more attractive overall package for most users with a budget of Rs. 7,000 or less.

AMD's Ryzen 6000 CPU series is coming! Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming AMD Ryzen 6000 series, including release date and price. Before Ryzen mobile processors got introduced, laptops came with just two and, on rare occasions, four-core CPUs. Today, both Intel and AMD offer high-core CPUs with iGPUs that can actually run modern video games. However, this jump in performance has not stopped either company from creating even faster processors. Ryzen 6000 is AMD’s next generation of mobile processors based on a Zen 3+ architecture. This 6000 series are exclusively for laptops (for now), while the desktop series will skip this number and go straight to 7000. With the information available online, whether through leaks, rumors, or official releases, we’ve created this article explaining Ryzen 6000. AMD’s CES 2022 keynote did not share a lot about the next generation of desktop processors, but they certainly shared enough for Ryzen 6000. The first impressive upgrade over the previous generation of mobile processors has to be the jump to a Zen 3+ architecture. Both desktop and laptop Zen 3 CPUs were quite efficient, competitive, and offered good value, so getting an upgrade on that will surely bring considerable improvements. What will make these processors even more powerful is that they’ll be fitted with an RDNA 2 GPU. And with the success of the RX 6000 GPUs (which is based on RDNA 2), you can imagine that the iGPU will deliver legitimate gaming performance. If you’re interested in getting a Ryzen 6000 system in 2022, take a look at this table of all the SKUs that will release We are not sure how these chips will fit in the same year or the differences between Raphael and Phoenix. We guess that Rembrandt-H CPUs will be the first on the market in 2022, followed by Raphael-H and finally by Phoenix. Currently, leakers believe that Raphael-H CPUs might come without a graphics solution, while Phoenix APUs will have a powerful iGPU. Allegedly, Raphael-H CPUs will be 65W+ while Phoenix APUs will stay under 45W. The iGPU in the Ryzen 6800U is up to 3 times faster in Doom Eternal than Nvidia’s MX450 and the iGPU in Intel’s i7-1165G7. That’s impressive but, expected, considering that the GPU will share the system’s memory which will be DDR5. More on that later. These are first-hand AMD marketing benchmarks, so let’s look at some third-party evidence. Currently, the most interesting product paired with an AMD Ryzen 6000 series has to be the Zephyrus G14. This laptop has smashed all records these past several years, so let’s see whether the 2022 version will be just as good. Looking at different reviews, it seems that the G14 is definitely faster than its Ryzen 5900HS predecessor.

An End Crystal is a type of pseudo-block (tile entity) that can be found in limited numbers but naturally in The End. They are situated on top of large and tall towers made of Obsidian, on top of a half-block of Bedrock. They are able to be crafted as of 1.9 - The Combat Update, and they are easy to break, only requiring to be hit by any attack. However, the Ender Dragon's flying through it does not count for this. Destroying it will cause a large explosion that will kill a Player unless they are properly protected. This can cause damage to the ender dragon, both from the direct explosion and the beam, but this can only occur if the crystal is currently healing the dragon, and any other mob that was also close enough to the detonation, which is similar to that of a charged Creeper. Due to the fact that they are on a tall structure, sometimes exceeding 30 or more blocks high, the explosion will likely knock players off the tower to a fatal fall. The end crystals slowly heal the ender dragon if it is within large proximity to it. It is worth mentioning that the end crystal is an entity and not a block. Therefore, it has a hit-box mechanic and health. However, its health is effectively 0 hearts, which means that any form of hostile actions, even those which do not cause damage, will destroy the entity. This is demonstrated by the fact that Eggs, which do not cause damage to most mobs, can destroy it. An ender crystal can be spawned using the /summon command, or it can be placed down after being crafted. https://minecraft-archive.fandom.com/wiki/End_Crystal#:~:text=An End Crystal is a,a half-block of Bedrock.

Romantic RPG-slash-visual novel Haven will now allow you to journey by way of the mysterious dystopian planet Supply as a same-gendered couple in a free replace. Beforehand, protagonists Yu and Kay have been introduced as female and male. Now, three choices shall be out there when beginning the sport—two males, two females or a female and male couple. In a information publish on Steam, Recreation Bakers stated that “this replace won’t change the story arc for Haven, and you may nonetheless play as Yu and Kay, however the sport gives extra choices as to the composition of the couple. Haven can now characterize love in a broader manner!” The developer additionally stated the replace “is a bit particular,” explaining that Haven was initially meant to have eight {couples} to characterize a various vary of relationships. Although the group ultimately targeted on only one couple, it “went again to work on this replace so as to add the alternate {couples}” shortly after launch. Two new voice actors hopped on board to document some 80,000 traces of dialogue, with slight tweaks to the story all through for any particular gendered references to replicate whichever couple you select. Emma Davies gave the sport a strong 72 in her Haven overview, calling Yu and Kay “a relatable couple in a rare state of affairs, rooted by a genuinely attention-grabbing backstory. Over the course of it, the visible novel parts work properly, with pleasurable dialogue and a relationship that you simply do really feel invested in—however the role-playing is just a little too slight to actually get your tooth caught into.” https://colorsofindia.media/lifestyle/gaming/new-haven-update-lets-you-play-as-a-same-gender-couple/

Sure, there have been other athletes who have attempted to go the same route as Jordan with their business endeavors, like Charles Barkley, Carmelo Anthony, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, and the late Kobe Bryant. But the numbers don't lie, and it appears that even after retiring from the NBA, MJ's wise investments awarded him with way more wealth and fortune than he ever had prior to his retirement. Among the multiple streams of income Michael Jordan has invested in, and he's best known for his Nike Air Jordan line of basketball sneakers. Athletic and casual clothing. Honestly, the name "Jordan" may not have been as po[CENSORED]r without it. Owned by Nike, the Air Jordan brand was founded in Chicago in 1984 and, in 2015, was turning $100 million in Nike royalties alone. By 2020, he was grossing over $4 billion annually for Nike while earning $150 million for himself, making the Air Jordan sneaker and MJ by extension one of the most successful marketed athlete-owned brands of all time. Every investor knows that the one product that will always sell is food. If you're starving, it's guaranteed that you'll buy something to eat before buying a shirt to wear. And that's probably the reason The Jump Man Jordan invested in both. He is the co-founder of a deluxe waterfront restaurant that was opened in 2018 called 1000 North in Jupiter, South Florida. Its exact location is in the Jupiter Harbor Marina, which means it can be accessed by either marine craft or by vehicle. But the appetite for success doesn't stop there for the basketball Hall of Famer. He also owns three more Michael Jordan Steakhouses. One in Chicago, another in Connecticut, and one more in Washington, all upscale restaurants serving exceptional American cuisine. It's no surprise that the former Chicago Bulls basketball star owns a private jet, a luxury not even the richest basketball players of today can boast. After all, Jordan can afford to bypass the lines at the airport ticket counters since he is has reached billionaire status, making him the first billionaire athlete ever. He purchased the Gulfstream G550 jet for $61.5 million after customization, which showcases the classic Jumpman logo alongside a feature of his jersey number, number of championship titles, and his initials, M.J., on the body of the plane. In 2017, he adorned the body of the jet by painting it over in the Air Jordan elephant print design, giving it the appearance of a flying sneaker. But MJ would probably have it no other way. Flying in style on board his own jet plant was a decision Jordan made willingly, but it is said that the G.O.A.T. doesn't like his boat to be rocked. But with a little encouragement from his second wife, Yvette Prieto, he purchased his first yacht for $21 million, which he nicknamed "Mr. Terrible." Perhaps the name was meant to reflect his intense entrepreneurial spirit. Who knows? But he might have adopted a liking for the sea after all since he purchased an $80 million yacht he named "Joy" shortly after. Besides being much more expensive, she was larger in size than Mr. Terrible, an estimated 229 feet in length with five decks and a basketball court so Mr. Jordan could stay in shape while at sea. Every billionaire athlete with their own pair of wings and marine vessels needs a mansion to rest in; better yet, if you have four! Michael Jordan owns four multi-million dollar estates located in different states all across America, beginning with one in Utah, another in Chicago, and two in Charlotte, North Carolina. What's more, is that they're all customized to his specific taste, which is probably why they're still up for grabs on the real estate market. His 32,000 square foot Chicago property has been listed on the market to be sold for $19 million, while his Utah property has been listed for $7.5 million since 2019. If you were impressed by the luxurious seacraft and G550 jet plane, you'd be blown away by Michael Jordan's collection of flamboyant luxury vehicles. Can you blame him, though? A man considered the greatest player of all time by the National Basketball Association needs to roll in style no matter what habitat he chooses. From the start of his career in the 1980s and into the 2000s, Jordan has purchased some balling sports cars like the Chevrolet C4, a Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet, a 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser, an Aston Martin, and his most recent beauties: a McLaren Mercedes SLR 722 and a Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir. If there are three things for certain MJ loves, it's basketball, big business, and fast cars. His car collection above is a proven testament to that. Another thing we have learned about Jordan is that he's a professional, and once he has a passion for something, he finds a way to make it turn over a profit. The same can be applied to his love for sports cars. The rumors of in the summer of 2020 were confirmed when Michael Jordan and minority partner Denny Hamlin announced later that year in September that they would be forming their own Cup Team that would be competing professionally in 2021. The NASCAR team was named 23X1 Racing, after MJ's jersey number during his basketball career. You can take the player out of the game, but you can't take the game out of the player. Ever since his prime while playing for the Chicago Bulls from 1984-1993, the man recognized as the G.O.A.T. has proved his world-class skill to the world. And even after his retirement from the Washington Wizards in 2003, rest assured that his passion for basketball never died. So much so that he became a 97% owner of the Charlotte Hornets basketball team in 2019. According to Forbes, before MJ bought the team, they were generating $39 million off of $240 million in revenue. After he purchased it for $180 million, their worth increased to $1.5 billion after playing only three playoffs. Was it forgotten to mention that Michael is a prudent businessman who always knows the right investments to make? It's as if whatever he touched turns to gold! In March 2021, he became one of the newest members of a $305 million investment in Dapper Labs. Dapper Labs is the startup company that birthed the NBA Top Shot, which is a not-for-profit (NFT) platform that uses blockchain technology to allow users to trade virtual basketball cards in the form of their favorite players' best clips, called "moments" Alongside MJ as new investors are Kevin Durant, Will Smith. and rapper 2 Chainz. Their combined investments increased the value of Dapper Labs to $2.6 million. In 2019, MJ did it again when he co-founded Cincoro Tequila with Jeanie Buss, Wes Edens, Emilia Fazzalari, and fellow billionaire and majority owner of the Boston Celtics Wyc Grousbeck. The name "Cincoro" originated from a combination of the Spanish translation for "five" (Cinco) and "gold" (oro) and was created with the intention of introducing a smoother, more refined variety of tequila compared to what's already on the shelf. Only in July 2021 was the CEO of Cincoro Tequila, Emilia Fazzalari, rejoicing over the sales of the tequila, which more than tripled since the previous year. It appears that Michael Jordan has struck gold again with Cincoro. https://www.therichest.com/luxury/the-mj-way-10-ways-michael-jordan-earns-and-spends-his-billions/

The US economy added 678,000 jobs last month, far ahead of expectations, as activity continued to rebound. The unemployment rate also edged down to 3.8%, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Job growth was widespread, led by gains in leisure and hospitality, professional and business services, health care, and construction. The number of new jobs added was well above analysts' estimates of about 400,000 new roles. Companies also added more jobs in January than previously estimated, according to revised numbers released on Friday. Average hourly earnings rose 5.1% over the past 12 months, although that is down from a 5.7% annual increase in January. Most of the rise in jobs came from the leisure and hospitality industries, which added 179,000 new roles, and at bar and restaurant companies, which filled 124,000 jobs. Employment in professional and business services increased by 95,000 jobs in February. However, the total number of jobs on US payrolls is still 2.1 million below where it was before the Covid-19 pandemic. Analysts predicted that the stronger-than-expected jobs market increased the certainty that the US central bank will raise interest rates at its next meeting, something US Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell said earlier this week that he was in favour of. "It looks like rates up by 0.25 basis points will be coming this month, as noted by Powell yesterday. The outlook is too uncertain for more than that," said Neil Birrell, chief investment officer at Premier Miton Investors. Seema Shah, chief strategist at Principal Global Investors, said an interest rate rise in the US was "all but baked in" to help control soaring inflation rates. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-60621578

It's more than a week since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine. Residents of the capital Kyiv and several other cities are under bombardment from Russian missiles. A nuclear power station also came under attack, causing an international outcry. Readers of the BBC News website have been sending in questions about the situation. Some of them are answered here by: James Waterhouse, reporting for the BBC from Kyiv Frank Gardner, the BBC's security editor Prof Claire Corkhill, nuclear materials expert at the University of Sheffield The bigger picture - Frank Gardner How is military aid getting into Ukraine? Why doesn't the Ukrainian air force attack the long Russian convoy? - David Finch Ukraine's western border with Poland and other Nato countries is still not in Russian hands (the Russian invasion has come from the three other sides - north, south and east), so there is still a corridor for supplies to come in. The Black Sea coast however is now largely under Russian control and deemed unsafe for most shipping. Everyone is baffled as to why Ukraine has not done more to attack the Russian convoy as it is a sitting duck for drone and airstrikes. There are several possible explanations, Ukraine may be running out of armed drones and its small, outnumbered air force may be wary of being shot down by Russian air defence batteries. Ben Barry from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) suggests the Ukrainians may well be safeguarding what resources they do have in readiness to counter-attack when the Russians get closer to Kyiv. What exactly will it take for Western powers to get involved here? - Rob Frank The West has made it clear it will only get involved militarily if Russia attacks a Nato country. Ukraine is not in Nato but nearby countries Poland and the Baltic states are, hence Nato has been rushing reinforcements to bolster those countries' borders. That said, western countries are supplying Ukraine with "defensive" equipment to help it try to repel the Russian invasion. This includes anti-aircraft and anti-tank missiles. Some are calling for Nato to introduce a no-fly zone to stop Russian planes from carrying out airstrikes on Ukrainian cities. But Nato says it won't do that as it would entail shooting down Russian planes and that could lead to war with Russia. So far I have heard nothing about prisoners of war. Are both sides taking any? - David Taylor Yes. There are reports of Russian conscripts who have been taken prisoner and been given mobile phones to call home. Their families, we are told, thought they were just being sent to the Donbas region on a small operation, or even an exercise, but certainly not a full-scale invasion. Does Nato have any strategy for Russia attacking operational nuclear plants in Ukraine? - Barry Johnson I don't think anyone even foresaw this, but beyond a lot of rhetoric condemning it as reckless and unacceptable, there's not a lot the West can do, short of military intervention. This has been ruled out, as there are full-scale battles raging across Ukraine. On the other hand, it is not in Russia's interest to have a nuclear contamination disaster so close to its borders so the scenario of a nuclear plant being targeted may not be repeated. The attack on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant - Prof Claire Corkhill How worried should we be? The situation at the Zaporizhzhya power station is now under control and there has been no release of radioactive material. At the site, the reactors are being shut down, which puts them into a safe state. The reactors themselves are well-shielded and resistant to fire or impact. More generally speaking, we should be concerned that nuclear facilities are military targets, because there are real risks of a nuclear accident. How would it affect us here in the UK if something was to happen to the nuclear plant? - Victoria Udell We are really too far away for there to be any hazard from radioactivity being released in the event of an accident. If an accident were to occur, it wouldn't be quite like the one that occurred at Chernobyl in 1986. There, the graphite in the core caught fire and, because it burned for 10 days, the radioactive smoke was lifted high into the atmosphere and spread widely around Europe. The reactors in Ukraine do not contain graphite, so are unlikely to catch fire or spread radioactivity widely. What would really happen if a fire broke out or a bomb did get dropped directly at the plant or in the cooling units? - Maria If there was a fire inside the reactor building, it would be instantly extinguished by the automatic safety systems. The reactor buildings themselves are fairly robust, so the nuclear fuel should be quite safe in there. An explosion would only occur if there was a nuclear meltdown, which could be caused by the electricity supply to the site AND the back-up generators being damaged. If this happened to an operating nuclear power plant, then there could be an explosion like the one that happened Fukushima. At Zaporizhzhya, the reactors are being put into a "shutdown", which means a nuclear meltdown could not happen. How dangerous was the attack on Ukraine's nuclear plant? The view from Kyiv - James Waterhouse What's your life like right now as a reporter in Kyiv? Are there signs of normal life? The day-to-day couldn't be more different from just over a week ago. We often covered the politics of this crisis, maybe even filmed with people across Kyiv, a city we could freely move around in. Now we are covering a full-scale war. Events are moving so quickly, and we find ourselves in and out of a bomb shelter like thousands of others. The food we are having for now is still fresh - often Ukraine's signature borscht soup as well as ham and cheeses. However, we are the extremely lucky ones. We've spoken to people now living in Metro stations where there is no running water or food being provided. Above ground, the normal full pavements and busy nightlife have disappeared. Instead, there are blockades and military checkpoints. Occasional friendly smiles have been replaced with nervous, wary looks. You can see the weight of tension on people's faces as they wait for what might be coming. If Kyiv is eventually surrounded by Russian forces, would airdrops of supplies (food, ammunition) be possible, like the Berlin airlift? - Fred Williams It's not clear yet what would happen if Kyiv was surrounded. Negotiators from both Ukraine and Russia have agreed to create "humanitarian corridors" to let citizens escape the fighting. It's possible Ukrainian forces could use these temporary ceasefires to resupply, as it was agreed food and water could be delivered to cities where there's been the heaviest fighting. For now, supermarkets and pharmacies can stay open in cities. Stock is more limited and there are long queues though. The distant rumbling of shells exploding is becoming more continuous as well. You become quite sensitive to the smallest changes. Occasionally a crackle of gunfire will make you jump. Russian troops are continuing to mostly advance from the west and north, and the worry is Kyiv will find itself under a form of military chokehold, as we've seen with other cities. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-60617145

Pakistan´s Imam-ul-Haq plays a shot during the first day of the first Test cricket match between Pakistan and Australia at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on March 4, 2022.-AFP RAWALPINDI: Pakistan lost opener Abdullah Shafique after a solid start before reaching 105-1 at lunch Friday on the opening day of the first Test against Australia in Rawalpindi. Shafique miscued a lofted shot off spinner Nathan Lyon and was caught by Pat Cummins for 44 in the penultimate over of the two-and-a-half hour session, extended because of Friday prayers. At the break, Imam-ul-Haq was unbeaten on 57 while Azhar Ali had yet to score after Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat on a dry and flat Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium pitch. Australia seemed to have erred in their selection as they went into the Test -- their first in Pakistan in 24 years -- with three pacers, a fast-bowling allrounder and a lone spinner in Lyon. In contrast, Pakistan included two spinners, a part-time slow bowler and two frontline pacers. Australia´s pace bowlers did not take a wicket in the first session, and Lyon was brought into bowl in the eighth over. Lyon, who so far has figures of 1-36, turned his first ball sharply and beat the bat for an unsuccessful caught behind appeal off the fourth. Shafique hit a six in the spinner´s third over, but the very next ball Lyon induced an edge to leg-slip -- only to see Travis Head drop a sharp chance with the batsman on 21. Haq, playing his first Test since December 2019, was solid as he hooked Cummins for his eighth boundary to complete his third 50 in 12 Tests. https://www.thenews.com.pk/latest/938526-pak-vs-aus-pakistan-opt-to-bat-first-in-historic-australia-test

Apple on Tuesday seeded the fifth beta release of macOS Monterey 12.3 to developers for testing. The new beta comes one week after the release of the fourth beta. The developer build of macOS Monterey 12.3 can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center and once the correct profile is installed, succeeding betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences. Registered Public Beta Testers can download and install the new macOS 12.3 Monterey public beta through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences after installing the proper profile. Mac users who want to be a part of Apple’s beta testing program can sign up to participate on the Apple Beta Software Program website, which gives users access to iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS betas macOS Monterey 12.3 introduces Universal Control, a feature that Apple first teased last June at WWDC and then was delayed for several months. Universal Control allows you to use a single mouse/trackpad and keyboard across multiple Macs and iPads running iPadOS 15.4. Universal Control allows your Mac’s cursor and keyboard to work on the iPad and vice versa. The second macOS 12.3 update adds an icon that you’ll see in the menu bar to indicate that the feature is activated. macOS Monterey 12.3 also adds support for updating the AirPods firmware when the earbuds are connected to a Mac. The update deprecates kernel extensions used by Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive. It also eliminates Python 2. Developers are advised to use Python 3 or another scripting language going forward. As usual, MacTrast and Apple both warn users to not install any betas on their daily driver Mac, instead only installing betas on devices set aside for testing purposes. https://www.mactrast.com/2022/03/apple-seeds-fifth-beta-of-macos-monterey-12-3-to-developers-and-public-beta-testers/

Battlefield 2042 has had a rocky old launch, with publisher EA saying it "didn't meet expectations" before, in a rather muddled fashion, denying it blamed Halo Infinite for the game's cool reception. The long-and-short is that no-one's happy. Players aren't happy, the publisher isn't happy, and it doesn't seem like DICE is over the moon either. A new blogpost on 'core feedback' details some of the substantial improvements that DICE intends to make in the game, focusing initially on the game's map design. It identifies five key areas to work on in the game's maps: traversal, intensity, line of sight, objective paths, and cover. Traversal is fairly self-explanatory: players are frustrated about the travel times between flags and spawns, something that is undoubtedly exacerbated by 2042's new 128 player limit. "We’ve seen you use terms such as 'Walking Simulator' to describe how this feels in-game," writes DICE CM PartWelsh. "We understand that this isn’t a satisfying experience and agree that there’s too much overall travel time." Sponsored Links 15 People From Famous Memes Look Then Vs. Now Student Sea So: base spawns and flags will be moved. DICE is already working on the most "obvious candidates" but is also asking players for their feedback on which maps are the biggest offenders in this regard. RECOMMENDED VIDEOS FOR YOU... CLOSE Battlefield 2042 The problem categorised as 'intensity' is especially interesting as, much like the spawns, it seems linked to that 128-player cap. "We know that during certain pushes for the objective, it can get too chaotic when fighting over Flags; either there are too many players, or vehicles, and sometimes the overall chaos can make it feel overwhelming when accurately trying to assess what’s happening around you." In terms of solutions, DICE is looking into permanently reducing the player cap on Breakthrough mode to 64 players (an option that is already present in the game), reducing vehicle spawns, and tweaking points values. But, it concludes, "Right now, we feel that Breakthrough on 64 players provides the best experience of Breakthrough." Line of sight is how often players take fire from enemies at a distance, with the complaints generally saying there are too many open and flat spaces that encourage and reward long-distance combat: a particular culprit being the map Kaleidoscope. That map is currently being changed internally with more line-of-sight blocks, and plans are afoot to do the same with others. As this suggests, much of what DICE is doing here is a work-in-progress and won't be seen in the game immediately, or in some cases even in the short term. Kaleidoscope is where the changes will be seen first but in terms of the overall map pool: "The plans that we’ve outlined to you today will require substantial development time, so we want to be transparent that not all of these proposed changes will be available to you in-game simultaneously across all of our library of maps." The final two areas of focus are paths towards objectives and, somewhat linked to this, cover. DICE reckons there's an especial issue with defending on some maps that don't have clear intended paths, and there are also problems with "players exposing themselves on bad lanes" on attack. Presumably they're not flashing the defenders but dying under a hail of fire. (Image credit: EA) The cover side of things ties into several of the above areas. Essentially there isn't enough of it, and DICE is going to add more across maps where it feels needed to reduce the number of open and flat spaces that encourage long-range engagements. "[O]ur intent is to reduce the likelihood of being fired at from a 360 degree angle, and to take away that Hail Mary feeling of running onto no man’s land between objectives." Advertisement The blogpost ends with an acknowledgement that these "learnings" are somewhat crucial for BF 2042's future, and will thus be incorporated into all future map designs. The takeaway seems to be as follows: "The biggest action point for ourselves is that bigger maps doesn’t necessarily mean more freedom and playstyles, or fun. So you can expect future maps to be smaller in scale than most of our release maps." It also seems like DICE is getting increasingly wary about what the 128-player count can mean: which does seem surprising when it was one of the game's headline features. The developer is going to "review player counts" across modes and, with all the above proposals, is asking players to submit feedback and clips showing their issues where appropriate. https://www.pcgamer.com/battlefield-2042-gets-antsy-about-whether-128-players-is-a-good-idea-after-all/
