Alan Wake 2 was one of the great successes of last year 2023 and proof of this is that it has not only enjoyed the approval of specialized critics and the support of the users themselves, but also events such as the Game Awards where it was nominated for best title of the year. So it is normal that a certain Remedymania has returned and everything related to the Finnish study is the subject of rumors and news. And the normal thing when a studio succeeds with a game is that, as soon as it goes on sale, rumors begin about what they will work on next. And the information that comes about Remedy in this sense is, to say the least, surprising, although the genre to which the one that everyone assumes will be the company's next creature will belong has already been decided. Can you imagine what it could be? Remedy starts shooting everywhere The fact is that it has been thanks to the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union where news has appeared of what the company's next project could be, since the Finns have registered FBC: Firebreak. So from that simple piece of information, a whole series of rumors have been unleashed that are connecting with some information that has arrived in recent weeks and that points in the same direction. And what could it be exactly? Well, the official name of Project Condor, a cooperative shooter that many claim that Remedy is developing and that would take place, neither more nor less, than within the plot universe of Control, one of its most celebrated and remembered games that hit stores in August 2019. And why do we think that both names are related? Well, because in the Control universe the definition of Firebreak refers to a kind of border area that takes the form of an infinite abyss and the acronym FBC could clearly correspond to those of the Federal Bureau of Control, coincidentally the same organization that we fought against within the original game. Everything is connected As you can see, Remedy does not give stitches without a thread and the new thing it projects seems like it is going to delve a little deeper into the lore of a franchise like Control, although no one rules out at this point that there could be more references to other games that are part of the history of the Finns and that are there as a way to refer to them camouflaged in each new IP that they invent. One of those candidates to have his small portion of cameos within FBC: Firebreak could be Alan Wake himself, who has already shown that the world of dreams and nightmares through which he moves could be present in any other Remedy video game. And when it comes to inventing and connecting, there's nothing like turning to the creative talent of Max Payne's parents. That's the only way to achieve heaven, don't you think? https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/nuevo-proyecto-creadores-alan-wake-2/

Cooling in a PC is one of the most important parts that we can never leave aside since it can mean the end of the useful life of some of its components such as the graphics card or the processor. But, in addition, it can also cause significant problems for PCIe 5.0 SSDs when working at full capacity. If our equipment is compatible and we want to buy a PCIe 5.0 SSD, all manufacturers, in addition to the unit, include a heatsink to keep the temperature of the unit always controlled, especially when it is working at full capacity, a problem that, at the moment, does not exist. There is a simple solution in sight. Taking into account the temperature problems that force the use of a heatsink in this type of units, Micron, the manufacturer of storage units and other components, has carried out a test with 4 Crucial T700 2 TB units and, although everything indicates that it was a firefighter's idea, in the end it was not like that and the team did not go out on fire along with the 4 Crucial units. 8 TB SSD at 40 GB/s The Crucial T700 SSD has a maximum read and write speed of 12,000 Mb/s. The guys at Micron have joined 4 Crucial T700 drives in RAID using the Gigabyte AORUS Gen5 AIC adapter that allows you to connect up to 4 PCIe 5.0 SSDs and offers a transfer speed of up to 60 GB/s by making slight modifications by replacing the integrated cooling system in This adapter (5cm fan) by AirJet Mini cooling technology from Frore Systems company. AirJet Mini is an active cooling solution capable of dissipating up to 5.25 W of heat generating only 21 dB. In addition, it has very low consumption, only 1W, making it an excellent solution for all types of compact devices, whether laptops, SSDs or even mini PCs. The result of joining 4 Crucial T700 SSD units offers an average read and write speed of 40 GB/s with reading speeds of 45 GB/s and 42 GB/s writing speeds. These were obtained using the Iometer measurement system. AirJet Mini kept the temperature controlled at all times while the measurement test was performed. Of the 4 Crucial T700 units, two reached 78 degrees while the other two stayed at 76 degrees. This device mounts on top of the copper diffuser already included in the SSD and one was used on each of the Crucial drives used for testing. In addition to the excellent performance in terms of speed and cooling capacity, the most striking thing about this test is how quiet it is, since it eliminates the need to use a fan that, no matter how quiet it is, always generates noise. The Gigabyte adapter modified to carry out this test includes a 5 cm fan that is responsible for cooling the 4 SSD units that we can connect. As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, the adapter that Micron has modified to carry out this test is a concept, so it is possible that it will reach the market as long as there is sufficient demand from the most demanding professions, not for just anyone. ordinary user. https://hardzone.es/noticias/componentes/ssd-4-veces-mas-rapido-cualquiera/

Every time we think about a computer or how to assemble it, we always think about the mess that results from having to organize all the cables, so that they do not cross, do not see each other or even to avoid problems that they can cause if, for example, They hit the fans, and in the end, it is normal that we want to have a PC without cables that avoids these problems. This time ASUS presents us with its innovative motherboard capable of avoiding most of the problems we may have related to cables, since thanks to this avant-garde design, we can hide all these annoying connectors. «Back to the future» Although it may seem like something out of a science fiction movie, the technology that ASUS teaches us is real, and can help us solve many problems when it comes to setting up our PC, since if we can do it in the most compact and efficient way possible, the better. . This edition of components called by the acronym "BTF", does not focus only on the motherboard, since it will also include a new box design for use with said motherboard, as well as a special edition of the RTX graphics card. 4090 that will not have a connector cable, since this will eliminate the traditional 16-pin cable to go one step further, allowing the power input to be directly connected to the board. Together, these three components will allow us to eliminate from sight practically all the cables that connect both to the board itself and to the graphics card. All this, added to the particular design that the brand has chosen to develop these editions, it is possible to create a PC that anyone can be happy with. We can find these component models in two colors depending on the edition, white or black. A PC without cables? How is it possible? As we have indicated before, the PC does not go directly for a transmission technology that does not use cables, but what it really does is prevent them from being seen. This is done thanks to the design that ASUS has developed for this BTF edition, since the motherboard is responsible for powering everything as we well know, but until now no one had been developed that could also allow removing the connection cables used in the graphics card. So if we add to this innovation that all the cables are connected through the back, we are left with a PC without cables (in sight). Many people may think that all this can lead to a malfunction of the computer, but quite the opposite, since we have before us some state-of-the-art components, which not only make people talk for being able to remove the cables from sight, but Not that they also meet all the characteristics that we can expect from any high-end computer of the latest generation, since the motherboard offers us everything we are looking for when building a gaming PC, as well as the edition of the latest graphics card. NVIDIA (and the most powerful to date). https://hardzone.es/noticias/componentes/asus-back-to-future-pc-sin-cables/

[Software]In March Diablo IV will look prettier than so far
Dean Ambrose™ posted a topic in Software
These days the famous CES in Las Vegas is being held, one of the most important technology fairs in the world that, we will not say that by surprise, has had time to show us some improvements that will reach certain games. And one of them is, neither more nor less, than Diablo IV, one of the hits of 2023 that, believe it or not, arrived in stores without being completely graphically dressed. Do you know what he was missing? It must be admitted that when you play Diablo IV you don't expect the visual spectacle to be the most incredible in the world. Blizzard, over the years, has made us care more about gameplay, combat and the story itself than purely technological issues. Although there is something that the ARPG suffers from that few have complained about or missed until now. Do you know exactly what it is? Diablo IV will be updated in March What Diablo IV has not had at launch and that we will now have is, neither more nor less, than ray tracing, that technology that has become po[CENSORED]r in recent years and that is present, not only in many graphics cards for PC, but also in the hardware of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A technical resource that transforms the 3D scenes of games into a kind of exact replica of what we can see in a normal picture in the real world. The person in charge of announcing this arrival of ray tracing technology to Diablo IV has been NVIDIA, which at its event at CES 2024 in Las Vegas wanted to show it, in a video that we leave you right here below and that explains all of it. those improvements in detail starting at minute 11 and 12 seconds. Press play if you want. In this type of NVIDIA event they make it clear to us that the arrival of this technology to Diablo IV in the month of March will cause the reflections, lighting effects and shadows to be practically real, which will take advantage of the hardware of many graphics models to PC – such as the company's own RTX. Only with them can we truly enjoy this advancement within Diablo IV. Blizzard's plan is still underway This news comes amid other information that is advancing what the possible content of the future Season 3 of the game will be, which, unlike what the community thinks, is not going to be delayed and we could soon have new details. Remember that we have already launched two, with mixed success, although in the last one it seems that the Americans have begun to get the pulse and return to the old habits of previous deliveries. Be that as it may, don't expect the updates and new content and challenges to stop at Diablo IV. There is a lot of fabric left to cut for a game that aspires to last a decade, like its predecessor, so be patient and enjoy what we already have. Which is the tip of the iceberg of what is to come. Ray tracing included. https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/diablo-iv-tendra-mejoras-graficas-marzo-2024/ -

[Software] How to play Portal on your Nintendo 64 right now
Dean Ambrose™ posted a topic in Software
There is no game in the world that has been able to arouse as many passions as Portal. Valve's brilliant creation, launched in October 2007, was a before and after for a genre such as action developments with touches of logic and puzzles, intelligence titles where you have to put more than just adrenaline to solve each phase. And now we have good news for retro Nintendo 64 lovers. Now, you may be wondering, what does Portal have to do with Nintendo 64? The Nintendo console, launched in Spain in 1996, arrived almost a decade before Gabe Newell's classic, so they should not be related, but they are. The reason? A demake that a user has been working on for some years and that has entered such an advanced phase that we can now test it on the original Japanese hardware. How's that for Portal on Nintendo 64? This is a community project, led by a user who has set out to make a completely playable version of the Valve classic. A priori we might think it's crazy, but by removing some graphical things from the original for PC, we can assure you that the concept, its fun and the main style lines can be maintained. Although everything looks more pixelated. In addition, the Nintendo 64 gamepad helps a lot, perfect for managing 3D environments since it was the first that, as standard, came with an analog stick to control cameras and perspectives within three-dimensional environments. So, as the classic would say, "hunger comes together with the desire to eat." Now, do you know how you could test it now on the original console hardware? Behold. First of all, it must be said that the creator of this Portal demake for Nintendo 64 has NOT published a functional ROM of the game, but has opted for a much more legal alternative. Or rather, bordering on illegal, because it avoids any maneuver that Valve could make to block its project. The idea that he has used is that we are the ones who create that file that we are then going to use in the console. How to create your Portal ROM for Nintendo 64? Before creating the ROM you must be able to run it within the console, and to do this you will need an Everdrive type cartridge, or similar, that is compatible with this type of files. This way, when we generate the file, we can copy it to the microSD card. If this is your case, go ahead. These are the steps you must take. Access the link below. Within the website, search on your computer for the file "portal_pak_000.vpk", which you can find within the Portal installation on Steam (indeed, you need the original game). Choose the ROM version (we recommend the latest one). Download the resulting ROM for Nintendo 64. Copy the ROM file you created to your Nintendo 64's Everdrive cartridge. Turn it on and... let's play! You could be one of the first privileged people who have been able to enjoy this timeless classic on a machine prior to its release date. https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/como-jugar-portal-nintendo-64-ahora-mismo/ -
After weeks and weeks of rumors and leaks, the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 SUPER graphics cards are finally official, with three new models arriving to complete the catalog of those in green. On this occasion, we can finally show you first-hand what the Founders Edition manufactured by NVIDIA of the RTX 4070 SUPER is like, the first of these graphics that will hit the market next January 16. Of course, what the manufacturer allows us to show you for now is only the unboxing, that is, what this new graphics card looks like on the outside with its heatsink manufactured by NVIDIA, but we cannot tell you about its performance data yet; That will come later, because as you can imagine the graph is already in our hands and we are already testing it. With that said, let's go there. This is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER As in the previous Founders Edition models, the new GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER comes in a large rectangular box, on the outside of which we can only see the model, and through a simple label on the back we are informed of the requirements technicians necessary to be able to use it, the contents of the box and information on support and warranty. The box opens upwards, splitting in half, and gives us access to the graphics that are cloistered in the center and with aesthetic accents that make it appear to shine. This graphics card has the same aesthetic appearance as other Founders Editions that we have seen in the past, and in fact, as we will see a little later, it is identical to the RTX 4060 Ti except for the color. On the front we have one of the two 90 mm fans that cools the assembly, and the rest is made up of aluminum fins to dissipate heat arranged at different angles. In this graph, everything is black. Of course, on the edges we have some aesthetic details such as the name of the graphic, for example. The fan is 90 mm in diameter and is made up of 7 fairly wide and inclined blades, joined at the ends to reduce noise and turbulence and which generates a lot of static pressure so that fresh air reaches all corners of the heatsink. If we turn the graph around we have a completely different aesthetic; There is also a 90 mm fan that we will talk about shortly, but here instead of having exposed aluminum fins we have black plastic covers, and the name of the graphic on one of the sides. The truth is that you don't see much of it, and it's a bas-relief instead of a silkscreen, but you almost have to hold it up to the light to be able to see the name well. Here, on the edges instead of the name of the graphic we have the manufacturer's logo. The fan is also 90 mm and also has seven blades, but in this case they are a little thinner and are placed upside down, so that a push-pull configuration is created between the two fans. It is a cooling system with a very intelligent design and in the past we have already seen that it works like a charm. At the top of the graph we have the "GeForce RTX" logo, a part of the aluminum sheets and, among them, the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector that this graph requires to work (by the way, the accessories include a 2xPCIe 8-pin adapter to this connector in case your source does not have it natively). At the bottom there is nothing notable apart from the PCIe connector. Nothing notable from behind either; As you can see, it is a very robust and compact graph. Finally, on the back we have an air outlet and the four video connectors: three DisplayPort and one HDMI. This RTX 4070 SUPER measures just 24.4 centimeters long and also occupies just two PCIe sockets, so you will normally have no problems installing it even in mini ITX cases. Finally, here you can see this NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER right next to an RTX 4060 Ti so you can see that physically they are identical except for the color. Well, you've already seen it. Personally, we really like the Founders Edition heatsink that NVIDIA uses in its graphics cards because in addition to being very beautiful and robust, it is quite efficient and silent. In a few days we will be able to publish our review, where we will tell you how it works when push comes to shove. Stay tuned! https://hardzone.es/noticias/tarjetas-graficas/unboxing-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4070-super/
