It is clear that Sony has taken a liking to having its exclusives on PC as well. This is the only way to understand the string of releases that are in the outbox and that God of War Ragnarok is the next to arrive this September. But between more striking new features, such as the one starring Kratos, other developments sneak in that are just as interesting and that, until today, had only been able to be enjoyed on a PlayStation console. This is the case of Until Dawn, a fun adventure released in 2015 for PS4 that was a complete success and that we can say that in some way started the trend of the modern horror genre that permeates everything. Not only the video game scene globally, but also the cinemas where sagas and new productions are legion on billboards around the world. So if you heard about this game, see how you can enjoy it on your PC. Until Dawn and a remastered horror Ballistic Moon is the studio in charge of developing this new version that comes to PC (and for the first time to PS5) and they announce that not only has it been improved to adapt it to the graphic capacity of the new platforms, but they have also put their hand into to the very essence of the game, recreating some new moments that the original did not have (such as the prologue). In this way, we will obtain a product that has some remastering but also a remake. Which is appreciated. And in the case of PC, although the studio has done specific work to improve it, it has not forgotten that we can enjoy it in practically any configuration, which includes handheld PCs such as Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, etc., to that works without problems and we can run it with a minimum resolution of 720p. So if you are a user of these devices, you can take terror everywhere with you. As we tell you, the requirements for PC are quite tight, although it is obvious that if we want to make the leap to full 4K and 60 fps we are going to have to add a lot of wood to the boiler (Intel Core i7 11700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D and a graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6900XT). In any case, these are the minimum and recommended requirements for Until Dawn on PC: Minimum requirements: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11 Processor: Intel Core i7 4790K / AMD Ryzen 5 1500x (or similar with AVX support) Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 / Radeon RX 470 (or equivalent with a minimum of 6GB VRAM) Storage: 70 GB available space (on SSD) Recommended requirements Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11 Processor: Intel Core i5 8600 / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Memory: 16GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 6600XT Storage: 70 GB available space (on SSD) https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/remake-until-dawn-pc-requisitos/

If we talk about storage units, we have to talk about Samsung, a manufacturer that offers solutions for all types of devices, from computers to mobile devices to servers and many others. Far from settling for the privileged position it has in this industry, this Korean firm continues to focus its efforts on improving the capacity and performance of this type of units. Last April, Samsung announced that it was working to start production of the 9th generation 280-layer V9 QLC flash memory that offers higher density and performance compared to products based on the same technology from other manufacturers. This new type of next-generation memory takes advantage of Channel Hole Etching technology to group a greater number of layers than the rest of the industry using a double-stack design that began to be implemented in 9th generation TLC memories. SSDs with higher capacity, faster and cheaper Using this dual-stack design, the 9th generation QLC V9 memory is 86% denser than the previous generation QLC V-NAND memory and a technology that improves data retention increases performance by 20% and the reading and writing speed by up to 60%. But, these new SSD drives are not only capable of offering greater storage capacity with better read and write speeds. Thanks to this technology and the Low Power function available on these units that can be activated or deactivated, power consumption is also reduced by reducing the voltage required by the NAND units so that they only send the necessary information, thus reducing consumption by 30 and 50%. This type of Samsung memory has a storage density of 19.5 GB/mm2 distributed in 280 layers, while YMTC memories with QLC technology have a density of 20.63 Gb/mm2 in 232 layers. In this way, it offers 33% higher performance than YMTC memories running at 3.2 Gbps. Thanks to this technology, everything indicates that Samsung will be able to create SSD units with greater capacity than the current one, 50% cheaper. If this means that an 8TB PCIe x4 SSD will not cost more than 1,000 euros as it currently does or 500 euros for a SATA III SSD, this is undoubtedly very good news, especially for users who need large amounts of storage and are not willing to pay the 1 TB of SSDs at a gold price. The price of an 8 TB HDD varies between 150 and 200 euros for models intended for NAS devices, a significant price difference that not everyone can or is willing to pay, although they offer a much lower reading and writing speed. to SATA III SSDs and PCIe M.2 SSDs Samsung's future plans include expanding the production of this type of memory so that it reaches the greatest number of users through PCIe M.2 SSDs for the home, UFS units for mobile devices without forgetting the storage units for SSD servers. U.2 which has a larger form factor. When will these cheaper SSDs hit the market? If everything goes as Samsung plans, it is likely that by 2025 we will see the fruit of this new technology reflected in prices. https://hardzone.es/noticias/componentes/samsung-ssd-grandes-baratos/

There are no speed sagas in the world that can beat the mythical Test Drive in terms of nostalgia and good memories. A franchise that had its first delivery in 1987, by the Accolade company, and that since then has been surviving as best it could. Sometimes with great video games and other times with titles that have gone largely unnoticed. As this is the case because, did you know that a new installment has just arrived? Although the original Test Drives had very limited gameplay, an imperative of technology in the 80s or 90s, the truth is that it was not until the 21st century when it truly made the leap to 3D and open worlds. Test Drive Unlimited belongs to that era, like this Solar Crown that has just arrived in stores for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Test Drive moves to Hong Kong The fact is that this new Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is the continuation of Test Drive Unlimited 2, which came out eight years ago and which puts us back in the same situation as then: we have at our disposal an entire island, full of events and roads, which we can travel at our leisure while we win tests, trophies, improvements and money to buy more and better cars. And as is customary in these Test Drive Unlimited, do not think that we are talking about sports brands of any level. Here the game continues to remain faithful to what it always showed us. If not, remember that Ferrari from the first game in 1987. Well, now we can visit Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Apollo and Bugatti dealerships to get behind the wheel of any of their latest models. Quite a joy. Of course, to add a little plot spice, this Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown incorporates a system of gangs that operate in Hong Kong and that will be the ones that take us from one place to another avoiding problems. The Sharps, very refined, with a lot of money and lovers of expensive things, and the Streets, more rebellious and less colorful. In any case, at the beginning of the game we will have to choose which of those two factions we want to belong to. The launch is just the beginning Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is not only a game that is already available and that you can enjoy on many platforms, its developer has devised an entire roadmap of updates and seasons that extend, first, during its first year on sale. Thus, the second season will arrive in December of this year, with a well-known location such as Ibiza, but then in February and June 2025, seasons three and four will arrive, which are Clan Wars and Casino respectively. We are very happy about the return of old acquaintances like Test Drive, although we are saddened that they have almost no impact because, had you heard that it is now available to play? Your answer is probably "no", so now you have no excuse. Oh, and get a good steering wheel. https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/test-drive-disponible-comprar/

A few weeks ago the first RAM memories were announced that included a new and interesting technology that allows increasing the capabilities of this component. Now, memory manufacturer Asgard has just announced its new Thor memories based on CUDIMM technology. These memories are mainly characterized by offering transfer speeds of up to 9,600 MT/s. The new Clocked Unbuffered DIMM (CUDIMM) memories include a clock controller (CKD) in their design. Simply explained, it stores the incoming clock signal and amplifies it at its output, sending it to the memory chips. The CKD includes additional functions to obtain a good quality signal. Allows correction of the duty cycle, allowing precise synchronization and reducing instability. Additionally, it minimizes clock lag, corrects programming delays for each of the routes and guarantees memory synchronization. Together, all these elements allow us to improve performance and raise working frequencies above 6,400 MT/s. Asgard presents its new CUDIMM modules Physically, CUDIMM memories do not differ at all from current memories. Simply, an additional chip is added that controls the clocks, improving its performance and features. There is no processor and/or motherboard upgrade required, which is great for the end user. Maybe you don't know the manufacturer Asgard, but it has just announced its first CUDIMM type modules. These memories are characterized by being DDR5 with frequencies of 9,600 MT/s and a CAS latency of 44. They have a high-quality integrated heat sink and will be available in two colors: Midnight Black and Lightning Silver. Specifically, these memories use Intel XMP 3.0 profiles with an operating profile of 9,600 MT/s working at a voltage of 1.5 volts. The G.SKill, to put it in context, are faster, working at 8,400 MT/s, working at a voltage of 1.4 volts. These Thor models lack RGB lighting, so they are quite sober heatsinks. Having little lights, we already know, does not contribute anything in performance and only makes the product more expensive. But hey, these types of products have their audience, although the little lights usually end up turned off because they are annoying. Additionally, the manufacturer Asgard has announced CUDIMM modules based on the DDR5 standard with speeds of 10,000 MT/s. These new memoirs do not have a release date, at least for now. They do not have a name, at the moment, but it does seem that these memories will have RGB lighting on the heatsink. You should know that the Thor models also do not have a release date or price. Most likely, we will see the first modules at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, which takes place the second week of January. This technological event is very important and the products that will arrive during the first half of the year are usually shown. Beyond the transfer speeds, the manufacturer has not provided much more information. It seems that they will have a dual 24 GB configuration, but they have not given information on a 32 GB version. They have not revealed prices either, but it is normal that they are substantially more expensive than conventional modules without the CKD. https://hardzone.es/noticias/componentes/memoria-ram-ddr5-cudimm-asgard-thor/

A genre that has become quite po[CENSORED]r in recent times when it comes to video games. Obviously we are talking about role and strategy. And very recently we have had really good examples, like Baldur's Gate 3 or the one we are dealing with today, since Space Marines 2 was launched not long ago. But do you know which are the best Warhammer-themed games? In this article we pay them a small tribute. If you are somewhat involved in the geek world, we are sure that you are familiar with what Warhammer is, a world that has captivated millions of people, both in its numerous board games and in the virtual world, the realm in which this saga ends. to have a new installment, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2. Space Marines, Sword Knights and Orcs So to commemorate the fact that we have a new video game from the world of Warhammer, we have investigated which are the five best Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 titles according to the experts at Metacritic, to ensure that we get the most objective scores possible. So with that said, we can begin. 5. Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus We start with one of the Warhammer heavyweights, which has a rating of 78 on Metacritic. The freshest thing this installment offered was its focus on the Adeptus Maquinus, a faction that we had not been able to enjoy too much in other games in the room. Without a doubt a delivery that risked a lot and expanded the Warhammer universe. 4. Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Obviously we had to mention this title. At the time it was released, this video game was greatly appreciated for being very faithful to board games, this being one of the reasons why it has an 81 rating on Metacritic. If you want a more retro experience within the world of Warhammer, then we recommend trying it. 3. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 As you have surely seen, Warhammer is a truly versatile saga, with all the titles offering totally different challenges. Vermintide 2, with an 82 on Metacritic, opted for gameplay inspired by Left 4 Dead, with cooperative and first-person action with which you will have a great time with your best friends. 2. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II This is undoubtedly one of the great favorites of fans of the franchise, with an 85 score on Metacritic. This title chose to focus more on strategy and the management of different troops instead of focusing on action and shooting. It is one of the installments of the saga most designed for gamers who like to take it easy. 1. Total War: Warhammer III This video game did everything that the closing of a trilogy should do: create a satisfying conclusion to a story that you have grown attached to, which is no easy task. Having an 86 rating on Metacritic, this is undoubtedly the high point in the Warhammer video game saga, and one of those games that you have to try no matter what. https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/mejores-juegos-warhammer/

With Lexar's latest announcement, we're looking at one of those hard-to-believe situations where a product is so good on paper that it seems like a lie, and then it turns out to be a pufo of epic proportions. But let's start from the beginning: this is all about Lexar's new SD 8.0 card, which promises speeds of up to 1,700 MB/s read and 1,000 MB/s write, the fastest on the market... The fact is that it seems that this memory card is, at the very least, ahead of its time, since it is not fully compatible with any device on the market that uses this standard, especially video cameras, and at best, it works as if it had the UHS-I standard. An SD card so fast it's ahead of its time? Lexar recently announced a new shipment of SD storage cards, including some that we told you about last week that were made of stainless steel, also compatible with the UHS-II standard. But of course the one that takes the cake for its latest releases is the one that carries the SD 8.0 standard, which uses PCIe 4.0 lanes to achieve the speeds it promises (this standard theoretically reaches 2 GB/s). All of this means that only devices that comply with the SD 8.0 standard can take advantage of the speed of this memory card… and currently there are none. Keep in mind that the SD 8.0 standard was finalized just a month ago, and apparently, while Lexar has rushed to launch its first compatible memory card, the manufacturers of compatible devices in which it can be used They are taking things slowly. The SD 8.0 standard was designed to use several PCI-Express interfaces: PCIe 4.0 x1, PCIe 3.0 x2, and PCIe 4.0 x2. Although this memory card is fortunately backward compatible with previous standards, performance is reduced to a minimum in these cases: it will work like a UHS-I SD card that provides just 30 MB/s speed... look at the difference, From the promised 1,700 MB/s it drops to 30 MB/s, about 56 times less. This fast SD card from Lexar was designed to perform similarly to its CFexpress 3.0 counterpart, part of the Lexar Professional series, to have read and write speeds similar to those used by PCIe 4.0. But that's as far as the similarities are concerned, since as we have explained there is no device in which you can use it, and what's worse, its backwards compatibility turns this professional grade SD into a cheap memory card like the one you can buy up to in a Chinese Of course, even though the manufacturer sent a press release mentioning its launch, they still do not have it listed even on their website, and in the same way it is not yet in stores and cannot be purchased. We assume that now, knowing the problem it has at the moment, Lexar will want to wait until the first devices compatible with the SD 8.0 standard are available on the market to start shipping it to stores... https://hardzone.es/noticias/perifericos/lexar-tarjeta-sd-rapida/

Last week was the moment when Sony decided to make PS5 Pro a reality, announcing its release date and, above all, its price. An amount that many have considered too high and that has given reasons to those who have Xbox that it is better to stay with the machine they bought in 2020. Even so, is it possible that Microsoft is silent but not stopped and has plans to try surprise PlayStation? It is known to everyone that in the last 20 years the life of Microsoft and Sony has gone quite hand in hand when it comes to video games. The two have fought for the throne of the console market (we put Nintendo aside) and have always copied their movements when necessary: Pro models in the previous generation, motion controls (PS Move and Kinect) with PS3 and Xbox 360 and even release dates, especially in the current and previous generations. So it is strange that the silence that Redmond seems to keep regarding the announcement of a Pro version of PS5. What plans does Microsoft have with Xbox? This being the case, it is more than evident that this silence that is heard thunderously on the part of Microsoft is not accidental. Phil Spencer's people are not going to say a word about PS5 Pro and possible Xbox plans to match that offer with more powerful hardware than Xbox Series X, simply because that is no longer their battle. The Americans are clear that right now they have lost the war so all they have to do is grit their teeth and finish the current cycle as best as possible. With the help of Xbox Game Pass. That leads to the next idea and that is that Microsoft has already set the calendar for when it is going to launch its next generation, and for that it is going to take GTA VI hostage. Do you see a better time than the launch of Rockstar's sandbox to put the machine in stores that truly offers the definitive experience? Infinitely superior to what we can play on PS5 or Xbox Series X and much better than in the case of PS5 Pro. Only then would it be understood that Microsoft is silent as a dead man and is letting Sony do its thing with hardly any opposition. Because that is, perhaps, what is smelling most like singeing in the heads of users who have an Xbox Series X at home. That there is no reaction from the other side. No answer. When would the new generation of Xbox arrive? Taking this hypothesis as good, which is already beginning to be heard in many internet forums, we would be talking about a launch of that new Xbox for the year 2026. A deadline that Sony would have set for 2027 or 2028 and we will see if it does not end. advancing Microsoft's plans. But it is evident that with the current sales panorama in the market, Phil Spencer's team have to make a splash or they will end up, not only losing the battle (which is already impossible for them) but putting an end to their career as first party with its own hardware. What do you think will happen? https://hardzone.es/noticias/juegos/ps5-pro-microsoft-planes-xbox/
