  1. Antonio Conte insists it is too early to talk about the future of Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Spain international has started just one match in the Premier League under Conte and reports in the national press have suggested the player would be open to leaving Chelsea in January. And when asked about the possible departure of Fabregas in the New Year, Conte said: "Now we are at the start of November and it is important to be in the present. For this type of situation it is too early to talk.
  2. At least 21,000 older Volkswagen Touareg TDI and Audi Q7 3.0 TDI models sold in the U.S. could end up being bought back by the automaker as part of a 3.0-liter TDI recall, Reuters reports. Lawyers from VW Automotive Group updated U.S. District Court Judge Charles Breyer this week on the 3.0-liter diesel issue and indicated the automaker had made progress in negotiations with the U.S. Department of Justice and the EPA over the fate of some 85,000 diesel vehicles from the Audi, Porsche and VW brands. The status conference took place almost a year to the day that the EPA sent VW a Notice of Violation in regards to the software discovered in the 3.0-liter diesels. The 3.0-liter TDI fix, which is separate from the 2.0-liter diesel issue in some respects, has faced a number of setbacks despite VW's confidence in April of this year of quickly and easily receiving approval for what it termed a catalyst warm-up strategy in a range of vehicles. Initially, VW suggested the 85,000 vehicles in the U.S. would only require a software update, but the EPA went on to reject two technical proposals from the automaker during 2016. Sources close to negotiations told Reuters that older Touareg and Q7 diesel models, available from the 2009 model year onwards, may have to be bought back while over 60,000 later versions could be repaired. Reuteres' sources did not mention which model years VW could end up having to purchase back. Other models that feature versions of the 3.0-liter engine include the Audi A6, A7, A8, Q5 and the Porsche Cayenne Diesel. 5. The Painted World of Ariandel is a little bit larger than any individual DLC episode from Dark Souls II, though the generous scattering of bonfires--the series' safe havens--shortens an otherwise long journey. Many areas are as vast as they are tall. The trudge up a steep hill is a fruitful exercise in amassing a large kill count as you also manage your health-replenishing Estus Flasks. The undead soldiers who po[CENSORED]te this hill are no zombies--they move with purpose once they see you and tactfully strike as well as any imposing Dark Souls foe. There aren't just secrets in Ashes of Ariandel but also rewards for thorough exploration. One such prize is a switch that grants you access to the main boss, and the challenge comes from enduring the vile surroundings where the switch is found: a dark, dank room filled with giant flies that aim to kill you with bleed attacks.

  7. Memphis Depay may need to leave Manchester United after being left out of Thursday's Europa League squad, says Fenerbahce coach Dick Advocaat. Jose Mourinho has not included Depay in his 21-man selection for the tie against Fenerbahce in Turkey, despite confirming the 22-year-old is not injured. Depay has made just seven appearances for United this season and has yet to start a game under Mourinho in either the Premier League or the Europa League, and Advocaat - who handed him his debut at PSV Eindhoven - believes the winger may need to look elsewhere for first-team football.
  8. Volvo Car Group will move production of its S90 flagship model to China from Sweden and export the sedan to global markets including Europe and the U.S. from its factory in Daqing, the automaker announced here today. The move is a key part of Volvo's effort to lead the way among premium automakers in establishing a global manufacturing and export hub in China. Volvo was the first Western automaker to export a China-made premium car to the U.S. with the long-wheelbase S60 Inscription in 2015. Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson told Automotive News Europe on the sidelines of the event here today that S90 output at the automaker's plant in Torslanda, near Gothenburg, would be progressively reduced this year. Just a limited number of S90s will be made in Sweden in the future, he added. Along with the European versions of the S90, which are also referred to as the regular-wheelbase variants of the car, the Daqing plant will build the long-wheelbase S90 for China and export to the U.S. starting this year and produce the S90 Excellence top-of-the-line variant for global export starting next year, the automaker said. The China-made cars will have their public debut at the Guangzhou auto show on Nov. 18. Volvo also announced today that current and new-generation 60-series midsize models will be built at its plant in Chengdu, western China, while its new-generation 40 series of compact vehicles will be made at a plant that is currently being built in Luqiao, which is 350km (218 miles) south of Shanghai. The automaker declined to say whether it will export it China-made 60-series and 40-series cars. The massive increase in Volvo’s presence in China – six years ago it had no production in the world’s largest auto market -- is part of the automaker’s $11 billion revival under China owner Zhejiang Geely Holding, which bought the company from Ford Motor in 2010. “With three plants – and the designation of one car line for each plant – Volvo creates an efficient production structure ensuring future capacity for growth,” Samuelsson said when introducing the cars today.
  9. Jack Wilshere admits being left out of Sam Allardyce's England squad was the spur he needed to join Bournemouth on loan from Arsenal. The 24-year-old, who joined the Gunners aged 10, has played the full 90 minutes of the Cherries' last two Premier League games after a series of lengthy injuries prevented him from doing the same for Arsenal for two years. The midfielder played more games for England than he did Arsenal last season, but told Sky Sports News HQ his axe from Allardyce's only squad as manager of the national team in late August forced him to accept his situation.
  10. No less a Chevrolet enthusiast than Dale Earnhardt Jr. introduced the Camaro SS Slammer (pictured above), a lowered, road-hugging one-off that Chevy will show on its stand all week at SEMA. “This thing’s pretty awesome,” said Junior. “It’s got a good profile.” Designers modified the Camaro body to accommodate 22-inch front and 24-inch rear wheels. When it was done rolling in, air shocks deflated to lower it even farther to a parked position. “The Camaro SS Slammer concept is a design exercise intended to take the Gen 6 Camaro’s proportions to the extreme,” said global design executive director John Cafaro. The black paint includes gloss-white flakes to “add depth and sparkle,” according to Chevrolet, and they sure did when viewed in the stark show lights of the car’s intro. A custom

  12. The first Mercedes-Benz EQ electric vehicle will roll off the line in Bremen, Germany, in 2020, one of 10 EQ models the brand plans to launch by 2025. The very first will be based on the EQ Generation concept the automaker debuted at the Paris auto show last month; a midsize SUV about the size of the GLC-Class. The EQ sub-brand is Stuttgart's response to the BMW i brand, as well as Audi's upcoming e-tron lineup, all vehicles the new electric Mercedes lineup will go up against in a matter of years. In concept form, the EQ Generation unveiled in Paris boasted a 310-mile range on a full charge and an output of 402 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, figures that most likely will be revised by the time production versions start rolling off the line. “Emission-free automobiles are the future. I am pleased that for the series production of our first electric EQ model, we can count on one of our most important partners in the global production network: our colleagues from Bremen," said Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. "The Bremen plant delivers a maximum of flexibility and high speed, as well as Mercedes quality from the beginning, also for our electric models."

  14. Rotherham United have completed the signing of striker Peter Odemwingie on a deal until January, subject to FA and EFL ratification. The 35-year-old was a free agent after being released by Stoke in the summer and becomes new manager Kenny Jackett's first signing, just days after taking charge. Odemwingie - a former Nigeria international - has also been of interest to Bolton but the player has told Sky Sports News HQ that he preferred to play in the Championship. He said: "Rotherham and Bolton showed interest over the weekend. Time is not on my side at my age and the Championship is a bit closer to where I wish to be. "Thanks to Bolton for their interest in me but I'm really pleased to join Rotherham. Kenny showed some interest in me a few months ago and we have been in touch since then. I am pleased he got a job and he offered me a contract. "My intuition said I'd be fine and that something would come along eventually. Playing well in the Premier League is still helping me now. Class is permanent, form is temporary, so I just need to find my form. All the movements are still there."
  15. Alfa Romeo may be famous for its coupes and convertibles on this side of the pond, but back in Europe station wagons still command a huge chunk of passenger car sales; Alfa will unveil a Giulia wagon late next year, according to Automotive News. Wagons make up 42 percent of sales of all premium midsize cars on Alfa Romeo's home continent, while sedans only account for 33 percent; that means that Alfa will miss out on a very large audience if it were to only offer the Giulia as a sedan. "The Giulia sedan is doing reasonably well, but without a wagon it is not competing in the largest portion of the midsize premium segment," Felipe Munoz, an analyst at JATO Dynamics market researchers, told Automotive News. The sedan is expected to go on sale in the U.S. by the end of the year (just in time for snowpocalypse) and will soon be joined by the Stelvio SUV that will debut at the LA Auto Show next month before going on sale during the first quarter of 2017. The presence of the Stelvio in the U.S. will significantly weaken the case for the Giulia station wagon stateside, a case that would have been shaky to begin with.

  18. The 21-year-old has developed into one of Simeone's most important players in the last two seasons, famously scoring a mesmeric winning goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final last term. The Spain international had been linked to a move away in the summer, with Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly interested in his services. "As long as Simeone is here, no, I won't leave," Saul told Spanish magazine Club del Deportista. "When a coach has faith in you as much as he has and gives you that confidence, it's vital." Atletico Madrid remain as tough as ever, but Guillem Balague looks at how Diego Simeone is adapting the way they play. Former Argentina midfielder Simeone has transformed Atletico's fortunes since taking charge of the ailing club in 2011, breaking Barcelona and Real Madrid's nine-year domestic stranglehold to win La Liga in 2014. They also won the Europa League and the Copa Deal Rey in successive seasons and have also finished runner-up in two of the last three Champions League finals.

  19. Ahead of this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Mazda teased both of the Miata-based concepts that will be featured in its booth. Not straying too far from last year's winning formula, Mazda will bring a modified version of the roofless Speedster concept we saw in 2015. The year, however, the Mazda MX-5 Speedster will be called the MX-5 Speedster Evolution. The Japanese automaker will also bring a concept version of its RF retractable hardtop MX-5 variant, dubbed Kuro. The Speedster Evolution concept lives up to its name and is, essentially, taking last year's weight-shaving ideas even further. The folks at Mazda somehow managed to shed 350 pounds from the already lightweight MX-5 -- that's about 100 lost pounds more than last year's show car. That brings this Miata’s curb weight just under the 1-ton mark. The Evolution will be painted white "ether" -- a new take on last year’s ether paint job, which was blue. Still, there's no windshield, so you'll want to grab a pair of goggles before taking it out for a drive.
