A plane carrying 81 people, including a top Brazilian football team, has crashed on its approach to the city of Medellin in Colombia, officials say. Reports say there are six survivors. The plane reported electrical problems. The chartered aircraft, flying from Bolivia, was carrying members of the Chapecoense football team, airport officials said. The team was due to play in the final of the Copa Sudamericana, against Medellin team Atletico Nacional. The first leg of the final of the cup, South America's second most important club competition, was scheduled for Wednesday, but has now been suspended. The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) said it was suspending "all activities".

I’d like to say it’s an elegant fusion of the two, but in reality it’s more of a duality - a conflict that reaches into nearly every aspect of Final Fantasy XV. In the end, its beauty, charm, and commitment to the bond between its four protagonists keep it glued together, even when some of its design and story elements threaten to pull it apart. Prince Noctis and fellow travelers Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto aren’t a loosely assembled band of strangers uniting to face evil, like in so many other roleplaying games - they are close, long-time friends, and it’s this closeness that gives Final Fantasy XV’s often incoherent story all the heart it has. While the danger that befalls the land of Lucis never truly materializes until the end of the tale and the would-be romantic element of the story never gets more than a handful of weepy, insubstantial cutscenes, the mutual respect, understanding, and kinship of these four is fleshed out and reinforced beautifully whether in combat, on the road, or everywhere in between.

HIGHLIGHTS: This car's nose dominates the exterior. Lexus calls it the spindle grille. On the NX compact crossovers it comes across as dramatic, really cool, bold, ridiculous and silly, all at once. In other words, polarizing. People either love it or hate it. I can say the styling is way dialed back compared to the LF NX concept shown in Tokyo a few years ago. The NX is Lexus’s first shot at a compact luxury crossover –- think Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes GLC, Acura RDX - all aimed at young up and comers. The interior is almost as wacky as the exterior, with the multi-layer dash unlike any other in the car biz. Materials are excellent. Overall the NX hybrid excels in quiet and smooth operation. It ain’t exciting to drive by any stretch but nor would one expect it be. Crossovers being all the rage, this is a good one. BASE PRICE: $40,695 OUR OPINION: The NX is among Toyota’s smoother hybrids, quiet and comfy, especially considering it's based on the pedestrian RAV4. There’s just the slightest road noise. The comfortable ride reminded me, again, of bigger Lexuses. On the freeway it drives like it’s just the right size. Many Toyota hybrids I’ve driven have weird brake feel as the regen kicks in and out. This car didn’t do that. There’s a lot going on underneath though: the 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and electric motor/generator send power to a planetary gear system and on to the front wheels; if AWD is needed it uses the electric motor on the rear axle.

A huge diversity of rides and attractions team up with a nearly absurd level of terrain, structure, and coaster customization options so effectively as to beg the question: where did this type of game go for so many years? It’s still far from an interesting economic simulator, and it’s definitely wanting for certain types of buildings, but many of these weaknesses are likely to fade over time thanks to the shrewd inclusion of full mod support. The basic routine of building and running a park manages to be more straightforward and intuitive than its extreme versatility would suggest. I used simple keyboard shortcuts to place, reposition, resize, recolor, and edit gift shops, ice cream stands, coasters, carousels, and walkways. Fine control, such as setting custom angle-snapping and widths for paths, can almost seem overwhelming at first, but ultimately allowed me to tweak every square foot of my park to look precisely how I wanted it, down to the smallest details. The array of possibilities available just from remixing the stock items is gargantuan, and the pool of bits and pieces is already expanding through Steam workshop, which is easily browseable by a well-organized, responsive interface from within the client.

Batman: A Telltale Games Series: Guardian of Gotham (iPad, iPhone, Mac, PC [reviewed], PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360) Developer: Telltale Games Publisher: Telltale Games Released: November 22, 2016 MSRP: $4.99 (Each Episode) Let me just get this out of the way -- they did it. They injected the Clown Prince of Crime into a Batman story. No, "he" wasn't in any promotional materials leading up to its release. There were no hints to his existence in the first three episodes, so I thought we were in the clear, but I was wrong. With that said, this is a mostly safe performance, that for once doesn't just try to mimic the great Mark Hamill, and thankfully doesn't take any cues from Leto's recent foray into Hot Topic Theater ("would you...die for me?"). So while I think that Harvey, Bats, and Oswald could have carried this series all on their own, the presence of Batman's greatest nemesis really doesn't hurt anything. Plus, they get points for trying something new with the character that I won't spoil here (along with a few inoffensive rapid-fire cameos from the comics). That's mostly because all of those aforementioned ingredients, all of the buildup and character turns. They've all taken shape and formed an interesting dichotomy. On one hand you have the conflicted newly christened mayor Harvey Dent, who still hasn't been fully taken over by his Two Face persona, attempting to restore order to a clearly broken Gotham. Then you have the [admittedly obvious heels] Children of Arkham, who are taking the city back after they suffered for so long. There are so many variables and uncertainties that it keeps you on your toes.

Mercedes-AMG's new mid-engine hypercar will generate more than 1,000 hp from its F1-based drivetrain and cost more than $2 million when it arrives on the market at the end of 2018. Though its arrival is two years away, the hypercar is close to being sold out, Mercedes-AMG Chairman Tobias Moers said during an interview at the auto show here. AMG will produce between 200 and 300 of the cars and is already keeping a list of buyers. "It's close to our production capacity," Moers said. "It's an amazing car. There's nothing else on the market." The new hypercar will use the same electrified powertrain used in the company's Mercedes-AMG Formula One race car, Moers said, though it must be modified to lower the idle speed as needed for a street-legal car. Engineers have reduced the compression ratio for the street car. It features a 1.6-liter V-6 powertrain that revs to more than 10,000, even in the street car, he said. The hypercar will be unveiled in 2017 as part of AMG's 50th anniversary celebration. One task for the car is to open the door on the future of performance vehicles in terms of efficiency and output, Moers said. "If you combine both worlds, the most efficient powertrain on the planet, which is the F1 powertrain, with the competencies and capabilities from AMG, to make a very performing hypercar, this is the pinnacle of engineering in automotive now," Moers said. "It's a birthday present."

Four policemen have been shot in 24 hours across the US in the latest in a series of attacks on law enforcement. One officer was shot dead in San Antonio, Texas, and another was shot in the face in St Louis, Missouri, though he is expected to survive. At least two of Sunday's attacks were ambushes. Two other officers were shot elsewhere in Missouri and Florida. The attacks revived memories of deadly ambushes against police in Texas and Louisiana in July. Fifty-seven US law enforcement officers have been fatally shot this year, a 68% percent increase from the same period in 2015.

We may be a few years away from the new Ford Bronco, but mules for the next-generation truck are already undergoing testing in Australia, Motoring reports. This is all happening in Australia because the Bronco will be based on the next-generation Ford Ranger pickup platform, which also underpins the Ford Everest SUV currently on sale in a number of world markets. According to Motoring, the next-gen Bronco will be based on a shortened version of the updated T6 ladder frame platform that will debut in 2018, though Bronco production for the U.S. market will take place in the U.S., a detail that was helpfully confirmed by a UAW representative a couple of months ago. This also means the Bronco is likely to share much of the Ford Ranger's mechanicals, though when it comes to U.S.-market engines, it's too soon to make any predictions. Motoring notes the next-gen Ranger and Bronco are likely to receive four-cylinder and five-cylinder diesels, while the U.S. Bronco is likely to receive a gasoline V6.

Media have speculated the post of secretary of state could be discussed. During the election campaign, Mr Romney called Mr Trump a "fraud" and "phony", while Mr Trump said Mr Romney's unsuccessful campaign against Barack Obama in 2012 was "the worst ever". Mr Trump has settled several posts so far, a number of them controversial.
