The size of the human brain is not linked to the intelligence of an individual. The human brain is very complex and is one of the most important organs in the body. In adolescents it continues to develop, which is why puberty is one of the most difficult stages. In adolescence, the brain undergoes very important changes and these are some curiosities of this stage. 1. It stops growing but continues to mature. When the brain stops growing, it does not stop maturing and developing until the ages of 25 and 30. The prefrontal cortex is the one that takes the longest to mature, its function controlling impulses. In adolescents, as it is not fully developed, they are prone to not measure their actions, which in some cases are very risky. 2. What is its maximum size? In girls, this organ reaches its maximum size around the age of 11, while in boys it oscillates at 14. The volume of the brain is not related to intelligence. 3. Mental disorders. The changes that occur in the brain, together with the emotional, physical and social ones, make adolescents more likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, changes in their eating behavior, bipolarity or schizophrenia. 4. They need more hours of sleep than a child. Pubertal children have higher concentrations of melatonin at night, this hormone is related to sleep. The more they witness in blood, the less desire to sleep the person has. This explains why young people are awake until late at night and have a hard time getting up in the morning. 5. Stress sensitivity? The brain, as it is in full development, makes adolescents more prone to developing disorders related to stress, depression and anxiety. 6. It fits easily. In childhood, the brain has a great capacity to absorb knowledge. In adolescence this characteristic is still present. Academic, creative activities and physical exercise are beneficial to help the development of this organ. 7. The adolescent brain is strong. Adolescence is a stage of many changes that make the brain prone to certain disorders. However, most young people reach adulthood without any kind of mental problem. https://www.ecuavisa.com/tendencias/curiosidades/7-curiosidades-sobre-el-cerebro-adolescente-LH51198411 point

SRI calculations show the effect that the urgent bill sent to the National Assembly will have. There will be a new table. The changes that the Government proposes for the payment of income tax imply that almost all natural persons who paid taxes in 2022 will have a benefit: those who have a gross salary of $1,900 a month will no longer pay anything and those who earn $ 2,400 and up will pay between $500 and $2,500 less. This according to information from the Internal Revenue Service (SRI). And it is that with the tax reform there will be a greater reduction for the payment of this tax. Currently the reduction is 10% and 20% of personal expenses that had seven basic baskets as a limit (about $ 5,000). The 10% reduction was obtained by those who reported annual income greater than $25,000 and 20% by those who had less than that value. Now the reform provides that the reduction is 18% of these expenses, but the ceiling and the reduction vary according to family responsibilities. Those who do not have family responsibilities may deduct 18% of their personal expenses that cannot exceed seven basic family baskets (this is $5,352.97 taking into account the January 2023 indicator). If you have a load, your limit will be nine baskets ($6,882.39). If you have two loads, eleven baskets ($8,411.81). With three loads the cap will be fourteen baskets ($10,705.94). With four charges, seventeen baskets ($13,000.07). And with five or more loads, twenty baskets ($15,294.2). And for the person with or in charge of people with catastrophic, rare and/or orphan diseases, the limit will be twenty baskets. Thus, 18% of these caps are equivalent to a reduction ranging from $964 to $2,753, compared to the current ones that were $500 and $1,000, depending on income level. The SRI details that a gross salary of $1,900 that pays $237 will go to zero whether or not it has charges. If the monthly income is $2,400, the tax payment would go from $999 to $459 if there is no charge, but if it does, the amount would be zero. If the gross salary is $2,750, the current payment is $1,569 and with the reform it would be $1,029 without charges or $478 with two charges and $0 with five charges. If gross pay is $3,000 the current pay of $1,977 would drop to $1,436 with no charges, $886 with two charges, and $0 with five charges. If gross pay is $3,500 the current pay of $3,054 would drop to $2,466 with no charges, $1,915 with two charges, and $677 with five charges. If gross pay is $4,500 the current pay of $5,515 would drop to $4,848 if you have no charges, $4,298 if you have two charges, and $3,059 if you have five charges. Modifications are also proposed in the ranges of the table that is used to settle the tax. The Quito Chamber of Commerce indicates that some of these ranges have been improved, because they are broader, especially from $40,000 in annual income. For the SRI, this new income tax table for natural persons is more progressive and fair. The basic fraction remains at $11,722. The tax on the basic fraction rises in most ranges. In the third it drops from $161 to $160; in the fourth range it goes up from $534 to $606; in the fifth from $984 to $1,356; in the sixth from $2,539 to $2,571; in the seventh range it rises from $4,612 to $4,768; in the eighth from $7,203 to $8,472; in the ninth from $10,312 to $14,427, and in the tenth range it goes down from $24,231 to $23,594. The percentages that are applied to the surplus fraction to quantify the tax remain between 0% and up to 37%. The Chamber of Commerce of Quito exposes cases in which less tax will be paid with the tax reform; but it also compares it with what was paid before the Government changed the scheme that governed until 2021 and there "a better situation is not presented." He gives as an example that a person whose monthly taxable income is $2,500 paid $268 of income tax in 2021 and then -with the previous tax reform- he went on to pay $1,551 in 2022. Now with the new bill presented to the National Assembly that same person would pay $496 in 2023 if they have two family responsibilities and if they do not, the tax would be $1,046. If the monthly income is $3,000, the tax was $939 in 2021, $2,558 in 2022, and for this year it would drop to $2,059 if there are no loads, $1,784 if you have one, and $1,509 if you have two loads. If the monthly income is $4,000, before the 2021 reform, $2,738 was paid and by 2022 it rose to $5,127. With the proposal pending, the amount of the tax would drop to $4,624 without charges, $4,349 with one and $4,074 with two. "In the examples we can see that in no case is there a better situation than what was in force prior to the reform introduced to the Economic Development Law in 2021," the union refers to in an analysis carried out after the presentation of the Executive's proposal. https://www.eluniverso.com/noticias/economia/reforma-tributaria-500-dolares-2500-menos-impuesto-a-la-renta-nuevas-rebajas-nota/1 point

Felines show affection in a more subtle way than dogs. Why the first seven weeks of life are essential for their bonds Cats are not antisocial, there are felines that are very open to interact with other animals or people, while some cannot even approach a stranger without being aggressive, distrustful, and full of fear. What defines whether a cat is more or less sociable is what happens in the first seven weeks of its life. Animals, and cats in particular, are authentic sponges in search of new knowledge when they are puppies and everything that happens to them in that period has a direct and very important relationship for their future. Animals must be self-sufficient as soon as possible, so all the tools of social and instinctive knowledge emerge in the very early stages, since they need to survive and rely on others to understand the environment in which they are, otherwise they will have more difficult access to food and help from his family. In those first weeks the kittens carefully observe the behavior of their mother and their siblings, taking into account the human presence and what is the role reserved for people. When the mother organizes the kittens to eat, she promotes her hygiene and resolves conflicts between them, in this way the kitten is aware that there are other beings, an order and needs. The more they are socialized at this stage, the more tools they will have as an adult, and that is why cats that have spent the necessary time with their mother, siblings and have been related to humans or other animals from a very young age have all the chances to be sociable. , understanding and respecting the minimum rules of coexistence. In the face of a non-socialized cat, it is essential that all family members or visitors take into account that they must approach it in a calm and respectful manner. Cats, unlike dogs, try to measure themselves with human beings as equals, and if we raise the tone of the treatment and "defend" our territory, the non-socialized cat will do so with greater emphasis. For animals, especially dogs and cats, presenting themselves by smell is vital, so the first premise is to allow them Another thing is the fact of not having an escape that can cause the animal to suffer more stress and not allow itself to react with sufficient motivation, so we must always have a way out for when it meets another cat or human being. trying to carry out a socialization that he does not want. The master key is to keep in mind that it is the cat that should be the one to approach and show interest, you should never force the situation and produce an approach that he is rejecting. For this reason, tools that help generate a positive environment are very useful, such as games. The game with the cat generates one by doing a team action that he will value a lot. The most important thing is to create a safe enough space for him so that time passes and he gets used to the presence of human beings and interacting with other animals. All of this is land gained to his socialization. Never responding with reprisals or aggressiveness to possible inconvenience from him. https://www.infobae.com/perros-y-gatos/2023/05/11/como-hacer-para-que-los-gatos-sean-mas-sociables/1 point

Alpine has a most interesting electrified future ahead of it. It is confirmed that from 2026 we will have to say goodbye to models such as the combustion A110, but work is already underway on an electric variant and on other copies that will not leave anyone indifferent. The Alpine A290 Beta has already been presented, which is the prototype that serves as a preview of this new era within the French sports firm. It is an urban with a sporty cut that maintains the name with the A, followed by the 2 that refers to the B segment and from the 90s by a future lifestyle range. It also carries the letter beta (β) in its name to represent that it is under development. The production car will arrive next year 2024 based on the CMF-B EV platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. It will be a full-fledged utility vehicle, as it measures 4.05 meters long, 1.85 meters wide and 1.48 meters high. Although the truth is that the Alpine A290 Beta wants to stand out by design, with a really worked aerodynamics and lines that evoke tradition and future in equal parts. For example, the lighting signature is inspired by that of the competition models of yesteryear, the 20-inch tricolor wheels are an advance to those that the production car will carry and its bumpers have very sculpted shapes. The bodywork is painted in powder white with a crystalline effect reminiscent of snowflakes. They contrast details in blue and black so that their inspiration in the mountains is clear. The cockpit of the Alpine A290 Beta clearly shows that we are dealing with a prototype. The reason is that it has a driving position in a central position that will never reach production, but that attracts a lot of attention. It is inspired by the Alpenglow concept car and has a 1+2 configuration, with the three seats made up of bucket seats and competition safety harnesses signed by Sabelt. It is completed with a fully driver-focused arrow-shaped dashboard that is both minimalist and highly functional. Although the key to this model seems to be its propulsion system consisting of two electric motors of which not too many details have been given. Ensuring that it has a Torque Vectoring technology, which allows controlling the torque transmitted to each wheel separately that will also be present in the production model. The multi-link rear suspension has a set-up between dynamism and comfort, while a high-performance Brembo braking system appears like that of the A110. This prototype is fully configurable thanks to its 11 ABS positions and three specific driving modes for track conditions. It adapts with the Wet, Dry and Full; who change their behavior in an exemplary way. The truth is that we are already waiting for 2024 to arrive to be able to see the production version that will come out of this spectacular Alpine A290 Beta. https://noticias.coches.com/noticias-motor/alpine-a290-beta/4912021 point

Independiente del Valle will build a complex in Esmeraldas sports center with similar characteristics to the one that exists in the city of Quito, which will allow young people from Esmeraldas to have better opportunities as athletes. The independent Club del Valle has a presence in a large part of the country's cities, due to the fact that its objective is to become a sports benchmark in South America in the lower category. This time the decision was to bet on Esmeraldas with the construction of a high-performance sports complex with luxury infrastructure. Franklin Tello, president of Independiente del Valle, in his statements to Diario La Hora, said that the decision was made because Esmeraldas has traditionally been the "quarry" of players who have left the country's name high. To launch this project, the Independent acquired a property of more than 4 hectares, in the Tonsupa parish. The property currently has several sports fields. Within the planning of the project, the construction of a modern infrastructure with first class courts, swimming pools, gymnasium, medical center, dining rooms and residence for the players is planned. "Our commitment today as a Sports Club is to contribute to all those young people who do not have the opportunity to have a better quality of life." In the first phase of the project, according to Tello, adjustments will be made to the existing infrastructure, such as sanitary arrangements, masonry, painting of the location and maintenance of the courts. For this, the club plans an investment of $90,000. The idea is that thanks to the first stage, the school in Esmeraldas can start working on the fields. And that more young people can have the opportunity to enroll. The second stage is not yet defined, but the amount of the budget will be much higher. The operation of the sports school will be similar to the others, where the players have full access to all the infrastructure, including food, at no cost. As the young people integrate, they will be divided by categories. And only those who qualify for their talent will be able to live in the club residence. The sports club will admit children and young people from the age of 9 onwards, who will have the support of the Club throughout their sports career as well as access to a better formal education. The construction of the headquarters, both the workforce and the plant personnel will be from Esmeraldas, the idea is that this complex becomes a contribution to improve employment opportunities for the people of Esmeraldas, as reported by the president of the Club in the statements of the. "The most important thing here is the future, what lies ahead, the decision that the Club has made to set up a satellite infrastructure for the first time in Esmeraldas with the same parameters with which we operate today in Quito." And in the future we would like to think about having a school and a college as well, he stated. https://www.lahora.com.ec/esmeraldas/esmeraldas-contara-con-un-club-deportivo-de-alto-rendimiento/1 point

The same thing every year: the good weather arrives and we begin to worry about those extra kilos. The clothes do not fit us well, and we are desperately looking for an easy and fast method that allows us to eliminate those kilos that we have gained during the winter. We start looking for quick diets that help us lose what we have left over in a few days, to feel better and more beautiful. But be very careful! miracle diets can make us lose weight, in an unhealthy way. This year I have been farsighted and for some time now I have placed myself in the hands of Dr. Marisa Niño Aragón, medical director of the Clínica Niño Aragón, with a degree in Medicine and Surgery. That she is taking me through this process and has given me the security and confidence to follow a healthy and balanced diet. And I can assure you that the results are surprising. In a short time I have noticed how my body has changed and I am happy with how well my clothes feel now. Dr. Marisa Niño Aragón, has extensive experience in aesthetic medicine, dietetics and nutrition. And that, together with close attention, personalized treatment and the exclusivity that she gives to each and every one of her patients, is a guarantee of the best results. We have spoken with Dr. Niño, who has told us how to achieve the objectives of each patient through treatments adapted to her individual needs. At the Clínica Niño Aragón, they are specialists in AESTHETIC MEDICINE, NUTRITION AND DIET. What makes it different from other clinics specializing in diet and nutrition? "I believe that our added value, what makes us different, is experience, personalized treatment and exclusivity, since we provide total privacy to all our patients" "In addition, we use top-level products, we follow very demanding protocols and we provide close and direct attention to guarantee the best results and the fulfillment of the objectives of each patient, through treatments adapted to their individual needs" says Dr. . Child. At the Clínica Niño Aragón, they are specialists in body aesthetic medicine and offer their patients the possibility of combining their dietary plans with localized medical-aesthetic treatments to enhance results and achieve their goals faster. How are your feeding programs or diets? “First of all, we carry out an initial consultation to study the situation and needs of each patient and then we prepare a tailored dietary plan, taking into account the specific characteristics of each patient and the objective to be achieved. We set realistic and achievable goals that patients can follow and meet with some ease to promote motivation, with special emphasis on personalizing treatments and follow-up, as we accompany the patient throughout the weight loss process and carry out consultations follow-up, to assess the evolution and make the necessary modifications in the dietary plan”. Dr. Child And the best thing is that they not only guide diets, but also offer a nutritional education service and dietary advice to help patients improve their relationship with food and acquire healthy habits that they can incorporate into their daily lives. permanent so that they can always benefit, beyond the time they are on the diet. They are programs that are not only aimed at weight loss, but also at improving health in general (treatment and prevention of pathologies, improvement of the immune system, improvement of circulation, slowing down the aging process, better mood , improvement of cognitive health, etc.) All your treatments are totally personalized for each patient based on their situation and their objectives. Do they vary depending on the stage they are in? “When designing a tailor-made dietary plan, as well as when choosing medical-aesthetic treatments to combine with the eating plan and enhance its effects, the needs of each patient are taken into account, in order to personalize the treatments and adapt them to your lifestyle, so that they are realistic and can be followed (food preferences, pathologies, allergies and intolerances, sleep schedules, time available to dedicate to preparing meals, stress levels, weight you want to lose, age , sex, etc.)” Dr. Niño. You are specialists in changes in the distribution of body fat. Body Mesotherapy has caught my attention. “That's right, one of the techniques that we use the most in the clinic and that is most in demand when it comes to combating localized fat is body mesotherapy. However, there are many more treatments that can help us eliminate localized fat that we cannot make disappear with diets or exercise. As, for example, ultracavitation or radiofrequency (although they are always used as a complement to other medical-aesthetic treatments and not in isolation). The choice of one treatment or another will always depend on the situation and specific needs of each patient.” Dr. Niño tells us. All treatments report great benefits beyond the treatment of alterations in the distribution of body fat, since they also help to improve the appearance and quality of the skin, slow down skin aging, promote blood circulation, lymphatic drainage and! much more! Although it is important to bear in mind that to achieve optimal and lasting results, these treatments must be accompanied by a correct diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do patients come who want to lose weight in a short period of time? Are there miraculous treatments? "Yes, it is very common to see patients seeking to lose weight in a very short period of time and who, even in the past, have tried to follow "miracle" diets that promise to help you lose many kilos in a very short time. ”. However, for weight loss to be carried out in a healthy way, (without compromising the health of the patient and without the weight loss occurring based on the loss of fluids and muscle mass) and in a sustainable way (that is, In other words, once the goal is reached, it can be maintained over time and the dreaded “rebound effect” does not appear shortly after leaving the diet) it must occur progressively, at a time programmed in different phases” Dr. Niño tells me that there are no miraculous treatments at the diet level, since it is possible to lose weight very quickly, but then it cannot be maintained over time and the lost weight ends up being recovered. Nor are there miraculous medical-aesthetic treatments that they achieve a flat stomach just by applying them. She advises us that in order to obtain the expected results and maintain them over time, it is necessary to combine medical-aesthetic treatments with a balanced diet, and a change in habits to acquire a healthy lifestyle. https://www.telecinco.es/blogs/elblogdecristinatarrega/20230512/dieta-estilo-vida-saludable_6_09505466.html1 point

The Kremlin reacted furiously to the announcement by a Polish government body that it proposed changing the name of the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea coast. The Committee for the Standardization of Geographical Designations Abroad in Poland indicated that the city and the wider area of this territory should be called Królewiec. This was the traditional name of the place, he argued, and justified his proposal to abandon the current "name imposed" by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Moscow called the decision "bordering on insanity" and "a hostile act." "We know that, throughout history, Poland has from time to time fallen into this Russian-hating madness," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. New name with centuries of history For several centuries, before World War II (1939-45), the area was known as Königsberg and was part of East Prussia. Królewiec is the Polish translation of Königsberg. However, after World War II, the city and the region in general came under Soviet administration. The Soviets renamed it Kaliningrad after Mikhail Kalinin, one of the leaders of the Bolshevik revolution. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Kaliningrad became part of Russia as an exclave - an area geographically separated from a country's main territory - between Poland and Lithuania. Kaliningrad is of strategic importance to Moscow because it hosts the Russian Baltic Fleet in the port of Baltiysk and is one of the few ice-free Russian European ports in winter. On Tuesday the Polish state committee announced that it was recommending with immediate effect that the town be renamed in Poland as Królewiec, and the wider area of the enclave as Obwód Królewiecki. He explained that the name Kaliningrad is not related to the city or the region, and has an "emotional and negative" connotation in Poland. Kalinin's dark legacy Mikhail Kalinin was one of the six signatories to the Soviet Politburo who ordered the execution of more than 21,000 Polish prisoners of war in Katin - now Russian territory - in 1940. Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine and its propaganda campaigns led Poland to reassess controversial "imposed names", the committee described. "Each country has the right to use in its language the traditional names that make up its cultural heritage, but it cannot be forced to use names that are unacceptable to it," the committee said. Moscow initially blamed the Nazis for the Katin Massacre when the Germans discovered the mass graves in 1943. As Moscow imposed a communist regime on Poland after World War II, relatives of the victims were unable to speak publicly about the crimes or find out anything for five decades. Russia recognized in 1990 the responsibility of the USSR of that massacre. Border reinforcement Although the state committee's recommendation is not binding, it is expected that Polish state bodies will start referring to Kaliningrad as Królewiec. The Polish Foreign Ministry issued a positive assessment of the name change. Poland has also begun to reinforce its border with the enclave following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Polish army temporarily put up a barbed wire fence and last month began installing cameras and motion sensors along the 232 km demarcation line. They have also placed anti-tank obstacles at border crossings. Polish officials fear that Russia could use that border as a new route for migrants from third countries to the EU, after reports of an increase in direct flights to Kaliningrad from the Middle East and other regions emerged. Poland erected a 5.5m-high steel fence along part of its border with Belarus, after the number of migrants crossing from there into its territory, as well as into Lithuania and Latvia, skyrocketed. A strategic exclave For Russia, Kaliningrad is one of its most strategic territories outside its borders. The exclave, of just under a million people, has become a focal point of deepening divisions between this country and the West, which have been exacerbated by the invasion of Ukraine. Russia has less than 200 km of coastline in the Baltic Sea, almost half in Kaliningrad. With the recent accession of Finland to NATO, and if that of Sweden is completed, more than 97% of the remaining 8,000 km of coastline will remain in the hands of the alliance countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. This makes the value of Kaliningrad to Russia even higher. Experts say that this small territory is crucial both for Moscow's offensive against Ukraine and to ensure its defenses against any hostility from NATO countries. Indeed, there have been reports on several occasions of Russia's deployment of nuclear weapons in Kaliningrad. Moscow does not deny this, but it also does not acknowledge that it has deployed nuclear weapons in Kaliningrad and has often used vague language about these accusations. "The deployment of one weapon or another, the deployment of military units, etc. on Russian territory is an exclusively sovereign matter of the Russian Federation," Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov said in 2018. Senior officials, such as the Lithuanian president, claim that Moscow has already deployed nuclear weapons in the strategic Baltic region. From Koenigsberg to Kaliningrad Kaliningrad is the only one of Russia's 46 oblasts that does not have a land border with another region of the country. In addition to its strategic and military importance, the exclave is of great historical importance to both Europe and Russia. The roots of the territory go far back in history and are closely linked to the fate of East Prussia and its capital, Köenigsberg. Ancient Königsberg was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1255, a German-Catholic crusade who ruled Prussia. In that city -when it was part of the Kingdom of Prussia- the philosopher Immanuel Kant was born and died When East Prussia seceded from Germany after World War I, the territory remained part of Germany until early 1945, at the end of World War II, when it was conquered by the Soviet Red Army. At the Yalta Conference, its division between Poland and the Soviet Union was agreed, which was formalized in Potsdam in 1945. Between Russia and the West Hosting the only port on the Baltic Sea that is free of ice all year round. Kaliningrad is crucial for both Russia and neighboring states in ensuring transport and trade throughout the region, where temperatures often dip below zero for much of the winter. But apart from transport and trade, the exclave is a strategically vital region from a military point of view for Moscow due to its location. It is home to Russia's Baltic Fleet and is positioned as Russia's westernmost territory, close to the heart of Europe. In May 2022 the Baltic Fleet announced that it carried out a series of simulated missile attacks from its nuclear-capable Iskander system. The Iskander missile system was first introduced to the region in 2016 and then upgraded in 2018, as part of a Russian strategy to counter NATO's deployment of a ballistic missile defense shield in Europe. There have also been regular military exercises involving the Baltic Fleet and a series of maneuvers since the invasion of Ukraine. "Kaliningrad has been a focal point of Russian security concerns since the first wave of NATO enlargement was announced in the 1990s," Ruth Deyermond, Professor of Post-Soviet Security at the Department of Security Studies, told BBC Mundo. King's College London War. "Inevitably, in periods when tensions between Russia and NATO rise, concerns about Kaliningrad also rise," she added. Kaliningrad has been heavily militarized for years, but this militarization was reinforced after the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014. And the more relations between Russia and the West cool, the more the military presence of both parties in the region is reinforced. https://www.bbc.com/mundo/noticias-internacional-655534821 point

The PS4 version of Hogwarts Legacy climbs to the podium of the best-selling games of recent weeks in the territory. With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom set to break all records in the coming weeks, we have some peace of mind with the information corresponding to the lists of best-selling consoles and video games in Japan. On this occasion, due to the fact that it was a holiday in the country, the data correspond to the last two weeks, and not to a single week as is usually the case. The Japanese magazine Famitsu has shared the figures that Gematsu has subsequently collected and, if we look at the sale of hardware, we will see that Nintendo Switch has sold 216,525 consoles in the last two weeks, double that of its pursuer. This is PlayStation 5, which has been putting up a battle with the hybrid in recent months but now it has to settle for 99,938 units adding its model with reader and digital (compared to the sum of the standard, Lite and OLED models of Switch). Xbox Series X and Series S continue to have difficult weeks in the Japanese country, totaling 1,324 consoles sold in the last two weeks, even less than PlayStation 4. Be that as it may, we leave you below the list of the best-selling consoles of 24 from April to May 7, placing the cumulative total in Japan in parentheses. Best-selling consoles of the last two weeks OLED switch – 184,609 (4,439,072) PlayStation 5 – 84,999 (2,984,697) Switch – 21,429 (19,299,135) PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 14,939 (486,274) Switch Lite – 10,487 (5,291,825) PlayStation 4 – 2067 (7,869,037) Xbox Series S – 674 (252,212) Xbox Series X – 650 (185,609) New 2DS LL (includes 2DS) – 132 (1,191,553) The PS4 version of Hogwarts Legacy has sold 32,000 copies As for the software, once again the list shared by Famitsu corresponds to two weeks instead of one, as is usually the case. Niantic wants to convince players to stay in Pokémon GO with new content and the contests could be close to arriving. The developers of Pokémon GO are faced with the difficult task of regaining the trust of the players. In recent times, Niantic's changes have caused great discontent in the community, raising the tension between users to levels never seen before. It seems difficult for them to reverse the decisions that brought about this situation. However, everything indicates that soon we will be able to enjoy some very important improvements for the video game. Among them, one that will give a special meaning to a mechanic introduced last January and that also gave rise to protests among fans due, basically, to the fact that it was useless. Contests are coming to Pokémon GO Until now, the size of a creature was irrelevant. Although Niantic introduced Pokémon XXL and XXS into the game, the utility did not go beyond collecting. However, the leaks point to the next arrival of the Contests. This mechanic has been present throughout the saga –sometimes under another name– and was particularly important in the third generation. In contests, creatures are valued for attributes that are not necessarily related to their combat power. In this sense, it seems that one of the adaptations of this idea to Pokémon GO will include small championships to see who has the largest specimen of a certain species. The information about the contests was first discovered at the beginning of the year, but additional details have been found over the last few days. The new leaks are the ones that have discovered these competitions on the size of the pokemon that "are currently the only category that exists" in the game's code. Certain limitations have also been detected. Players will not be able to participate in more than one contest simultaneously, use a newly received Pokémon via trade, or use the same creature that was recently won. Additionally, it is revealed that there will be a system of ranks and points, so we can expect reward distributions. These competitions will only be accessible through PokéStops. As of now, there are no further details regarding the contests or additional features for Pokémon XXL and XXS. It is also unclear when this feature will be added to the game. Perhaps it is still necessary to wait a little longer, since there is only one competition category suggests that the work is not yet done. However, this could be one of the great novelties to energize Pokémon GO. In addition to criticizing Niantic's policies, players have also complained that the pace of news has slowed down lately and that the events are a bit monotonous. In that sense, this may be the novelty they expected. https://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/pokemon-go/noticias/crisis-pokemon-go-podria-tener-dias-contados-filtraciones-apuntan-a-grandes-novedades-que-comunidad-lleva-mucho-tiempo-esperando1 point

The rise of bets on cosmetics in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has made Valve react. Counter-Strike skins can reach stratospheric prices. Over the past few weeks, with the rise in po[CENSORED]rity of the shooter, we have come to see how some cosmetics were sold at prices close to half a million euros. However, this is not exactly new. Since the release of Global Offensive, there have been certain skins that have sold at a very high price. We are talking about that amount of money that always ends up causing problems. It is a very lucrative market that many users have tried to take advantage of and that has forced changes in Valve's policies. The company had to carry out large updates to Steam to control the situation. The last one, this week. A fight that Valve started almost ten years ago Shortly after the launch of Global Offensive, online casinos and sports betting sites specialized in handling Counter-Strike skins as a payment currency began to emerge. These same pages used to be supplemented by other websites where players could open crates. The business model was very simple: the first domain collected the skins that users lost when participating in casino games and the second put them up for sale through a random rewards system that was slightly more generous than the official 'lootboxes'. from Valve, albeit still with a wide profit margin. In addition to being an obvious ethical conflict, the situation had negative consequences for both Valve and the community. Many content creators specializing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive began to focus all their videos or direct on the use of these web pages. There were also scams, betting scandals in the competitive and the price of the skins increased. The image of CS:GO got worse and the developers weren't even making money from it, which motivated the first changes. The most important adjustments were certain restrictions on exchanges so that these pages would find it more difficult to trade. Some eight years after this big 'boom' in the betting and box opening pages, Valve has decided to modify the Steam terms of service to avoid similar problems arising in the last days of Global Offensive or the birth of Counter-Strike 2. The "Engage in Commercial Activities" clause in the Steam Rules of Conduct now includes gambling. In this sense, the developer reserves the right to ban any player who participates in third-party websites that use tactical shooter cosmetics as currency. This also applies to all games in the platform's catalog. Root out gambling in Counter-Strike It is unthinkable that Valve could ban all users who participate in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive outside betting sites. However, from the developer they have taken an intelligent measure. With this new regulation, the developer can instantly ban any content creator who broadcasts live or uploads videos from these types of pages. Thus, they nip its diffusion in the bud. Considering that CS2 is just around the corner and that it promises to be one of the games of the summer, they were necessary changes if they didn't want to repeat the unpleasant situation they experienced in the mid-2010s. Valve has a very particular ban policy. It is not as easy as on other platforms to end up being punished by the developers. However, when you receive a ban on Steam or one of the games created by this developer (that use VAC) your account can be restricted for life. Among the punishments is the possibility of losing access to all games on the platform, blocking cosmetic exchanges or when using certain platform tools. It is not something minor considering that it is still the most used platform on PC. https://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/counter-strike-2/noticias/valve-cambia-politicas-steam-para-proteger-counter-strike-2-acabar-problema-que-comenzo-hace-10-anos-se-acabaron-apuestas-skins1 point

Windows Defender is the native antivirus that Microsoft offers completely free of charge in Windows 10 and Windows 11, an antivirus that is regularly updated to detect any type of software that wants to run wild on the computer. However, there are many users who ignore it and prefer to use third-party antivirus solutions. Also, due to its system-wide integration, it is not always the best option in certain circumstances due to the tight control it has over the entire system. If you are contemplating the possibility of deactivating Windows Defender (it cannot be uninstalled), then we show you different reasons both to carry out this action and not to do so. Install other antivirus. If we install an antivirus in Windows, first of all, the first thing we must do is deactivate Windows Defender. Installing another antivirus that works as a complement to Windows Defender is not a good idea, since both antiviruses will fight to analyze all the files that we download from the Internet, the web pages that we visit and, in general, analyze our computer in real time in search of threats. , seriously affecting the performance of our PC. Problems with old applications. Many are the old applications that, since they have not been updated for a long time, are not signed by authorized developers known by Microsoft, so the system natively detects that the application is not signed and automatically blocks its download, a process that we can easily reverse it by accessing the message it shows us. Improve privacy. Any antivirus is designed to protect our PC against any type of threat, not to guarantee our privacy. If we want our computer to be protected at all times, we must give it the necessary access permissions to do so. This reason can be applied to both Windows Defender and the rest of the antivirus that we have at our disposal. Worth? Windows Defender is the native antivirus of Windows, which is an advantage in terms of performance that we will not find in any other program, especially on older computers where system performance is essential to offer the best possible user experience, a very important factor that may be more than enough to assess or not disable Defender in Windows. In addition, its operation is linked to the Windows firewall, another native Windows tool that works hand in hand with Defender. If we install a third-party application, the control of the firewall in Windows passes through the hands of the antivirus that we install, so, once again, on old computers, a performance drop will be noticed that will greatly impair the user experience. https://www.softzone.es/noticias/seguridad/razones-desactivar-defender/1 point

The big complaint today is the high price of gaming graphics cards, especially those from NVIDIA. We have seen how year after year these have become more expensive, to a large extent, due to the adhesion of hardware for Ray Tracing and DLSS. Well, thanks to NVIDIA's financial report we know that the benefit per graphics card is 57%. We have to clarify that what is indicated is the gross benefits. This means that it is what you earn on average for each graphics card you sell, to put it simply. Then, you have to discount operating expenses such as payroll, loan amortization, current expenses such as electricity, water, internet and other similar ones. Knowing how much these "current" costs are is quite complicated. More or less we can estimate that it represents between 20-25% of the gross profit margin. But hey, what matters to us are some of the interesting facts from the financial report. NVIDIA tells us how much it makes per graphics card The data, without a doubt that interests us, is the gross profit per graphics card, which is 56.9%. At least the data that has fallen by 8% compared to last year is interesting. It is not clear if it has to do with an increase in production and transport costs or, if it has been due to a downward adjustment of the margin. Let's extrapolate it to data. If a graphics card 'x' costs 1,000 euros, NVIDIA gets a net of 569 euros. This means that the manufacture of the graphics card has cost 431 euros. Keep in mind that this figure is if NVIDIA is the one who sells the graphics card, something that it does not usually do. We have intermediaries in the market, companies that sell us custom graphics cards. Some are ASUS, Gigabyte, EVGA, etc., who buy graphics cards from NVIDIA and customize them. These intermediary companies, also called assemblers or partners, have to make money. Since they are large volume purchases, what NVIDIA usually does is reduce their unit profit margin. We don't know how much, but we can assume that they will lower it to 40-45%, so that the assembler can earn money. Here is the background of the issue. Where NVIDIA makes the most money is not with gaming graphics cards, it is with professional ones. Something that the financial report makes quite clear to us. AI gains strength against gaming We can see in the financial report how the sale of solutions for Data Center is 15,000 million dollars. It represents an increase in revenue of 41% year-on-year, which would be driven by artificial intelligence. As there are no intermediaries, being NVIDIA who manufactures and sells the product, the profit margin may be higher. We have the other side of the coin and it is gaming. The company reveals it has revenue of $9.1 billion from the gaming graphics card segment. It represents a 27% drop in revenue, which would largely be driven by the high price of its new graphics. These data would confirm that the company cannot release the RTX 40 Series because they are brutally expensive. But, although they are not able to sell them, the company refuses to lower the price of them. They continue to keep prices high as stock accumulates on the shelves and collects dust. https://hardzone.es/noticias/tarjetas-graficas/beneificio-nvidia-tarjeta-grafica/1 point

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is finally in players' hands as of today, marking the culmination of a lengthy six-year development cycle, but it seems the game’s director Hidemaro Fujibayashi may already be cooking up ideas for Link’s next adventure. Warning: This article contains mild The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom SPOILERS, specifically regarding the nature of the game’s villain. The New York Times posted a new interview with Fujibayashi and Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma, and in a separate tweet, author Zachary Small says “Fujibayashi already has plans for the next Zelda game,” although he hasn’t let Aonuma in on those plans just yet. The NYT article includes some interesting tidbits, with Fujibayashi essentially admitting that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is partly an attempt to improve upon and redeem ideas from another game he directed, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Specifically, TotK makes a fully seamless world, where players can travel between the sky, surface, and underground, a reality. Tears of the Kingdom also marks the return of Ganondorf as a villain after Breath of the Wild featured the more inhuman Calamity Ganon. That said, while Link once again has a villain who can actually speak, he doesn’t have that much to say this time around. Thankfully, according to Aonuma, Ganondorf could get more character development in future games… “It’s very possible from here on out that we will be able to see further character development and changes to his personality as the series continues. Ganondorf is an ingredient that we use to supplement gameplay.” Haven’t been keeping up with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? You can get answers to some of the big questions about the game here. Personally, I found Tears of the Kingdom to be a richer experience than BotW, but perhaps less memorable, in my full review… “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sticks closely to the blueprint established by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it’s a richer, more rewarding game in most ways that count, offering a more intricate world, versatile suite of abilities, epic story, and satisfying dungeons. The familiarity of this Hyrule and a handful of frustrating sections keep Tears of the Kingdom from feeling quite as surprising and magical as its predecessor, but make no mistake, the wait has been worth it. While it probably behooves Nintendo to carve out an entirely new Legend next, Link’s latest should fill most fans’ heart meters nicely in the meantime.” The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch. https://wccftech.com/zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-director-planning-next-game-ganon-more-depth/1 point

Rabat - Morocco’s fairytale performance at the World Cup 2022 continues to resonate with many, including Argentina’s head coach Lionel Scaloni. In an interview this week with Al Kass, Scaloni described Morocco’s football team as the revelation of the 2022 World Cup. “The Moroccan national team is the revelation of the World Cup. It’s a combative and harmonious team with a coach I know well. Walid Regragui surprised me with his desire to win matches, as well as the enthusiasm of Morocco's fans,” Scaloni said. Morocco’s Atlas Lions’ historic performances at the World Cup in Qatar left a mark on the footballing world. As they made history to become the first Arab and African country to reach the semi-finals of the prestigious global tournament, Morocco’s national team’s impressive Qatari journey was hailed as an inspiration for underdogs dreaming of challenging the footballing status quo in coming tournaments. “Morocco deserved the position it reached. I myself congratulated Regragui for his remarkable work,” Scaloni explained. Months after their team’s remarkable performances in Qatar, Moroccan fans are now full of hope to see the Atlas Lions finally win their first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in nearly five decades. For his part, Regragui is determined to continue making history at the coming AFCON, stressing that he would immediately resign if the Atlas Lions do not reach at least the semi-finals of the continental competition. “We must have the spirit to be winners; this is why I put pressure on myself and decided to resign if we don’t achieve the semi-finals of the next AFCON,” he said, adding that Morocco seeks to be African champions. “When we dominate our continent, we can also dominate the world,” he told BBC World Service in April. © Morocco World News. Rabat - Taptap Send, a diaspora-focused fintech company, is celebrating the launch of its operation seeking to help Moroccan diaspora in France benefit from its money transfer services. In a press release announcing the new operation, the company said that the launch of this “unique operation” comes at a “perfect time” to meet the aspirations of Moroccans living in France. Other than the Moroccan diaspora, it added, Tunisian nationals living in France will also be able to benefit from the new operation. The company mobilized both Nouha Maazouzi, growth launcher at Taptap Send, and Jaafar El Alamy, a Data Leader at ADRIVER company, to introduce the operation to the “greatest number of Moroccans and Tunusisians” living in France, detailed the press statement. The operation seeks to introduce the targeted diaspora members to transfer money services and solutions, particularly in periods like the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Adha, the forthcoming religious holiday. Elalamy has been carrying out tours, with a fleet of geolocated vehicles circulating in areas with a strong presence of Moroccan and Tunisian diaspora members to “maximize the impact on the Taptap Send target,” Taptap Send said. Commenting on the campaign, Elalamy said: “Adriver, the leader in Mobile Out Of Home (MOOH) in Europe, is a master at predicting the movements of brand targets and has consequently selected the best moving media to make the Taptap Send campaign an unprecedented success story.” He stressed that data is analyzed on an “hourly basis” and is being reported to Taptap Send every week. Read also: TapTap Send: Easy Way to Send Money Abroad for Moroccan Diaspora Starting in April this year, Taptap partnered with Adriver to increase its visibility in France. Drivers from Adriver will be displaying the message for several weeks in the Iles-de-France region to introduce Taptap Send services to Moroccans and Tunisians and allow them to “easily and quickly bring support to their families back in their home country.” As part of the campaign, Maazouzi developed “impactful and contextualized visuals,” containing “exceptional” promo code that would allow the company’s users to benefit from €5 offered from the first sending with the TapTap Send application. For Taptap Send, the promo code is a “gift in perfect alignment with the state of mind that prevails during the month of fasting and the weeks after right before Aid el Adha.” Mazouzi identified challenges Taptap send is facing, including the company’s vision to build a “hyper targeted strategy to acquire qualitative customers without losing a lot of money along the way.” Taptap Send is “very community driven and tries its best to gather community together in each marketing activation,” she argued, stressing: “This was made possible with Adriver solution as many drivers comes from Morocco and Tunisia.” Mazouzi also emphasized Adriver’s operatives’’ help and their contribution to the fintech company’s visibility, stressing that they became “ambassadors of Taptap Send.” “Most of them presented the service to their clients during their rides on top of displaying the ad on their vehicles,” she said. As part of the campaign, vehicle drivers benefit from a “substantial additional income per month that Adriver pays them in exchange for the wrapping of their cars in a very easy way,” the communique stressed. © Morocco World News. Rabat - Israeli strikes have killed 13 Palestinians in Gaza despite uproar and backlash, urging Israel government to abort acts that could trigger more escalation in the Israeli-Palestine conflict. Palestine’s authority condemned the attacks carried out from the night of Monday to Tuesday, describing the situation as a “dangerous Israeli escalation.” The list of victims includes four women and four children. “We condemn this dangerous escalation against our people, which targeted children, women and homes in the Gaza strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the latest of which was the killing of 13 civilians, including women and children, in the Gaza strip, ad the injury of 13 people from bullets in Nablus,” presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said. He also conveyed Palestine’s warning, holding the Israeli government “fully responsible for this dangerous escalation.” Palestine Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh echoed the same remarks, describing Israeli attacks as a horrific massacre. Shtayyeh accused Israeli troops of carrying out an organized state terrorism to export the internal crisis that Israel suffers from to Palestine. “The aggression was a practical translation of the doctrine of killing, incineration, and genocide, which those in power in Israel have long professed,” he added. The Palestinian government also urged the UN to condemn Israeli troop’s aggression against the Gaza strip. Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army's spokesperson for Arab media, said Tuesday’s operation, dubbed “shield and arrow,” was a “strong message that whoever fires rockets Sdreot and the Gaza periphery in broad daylight, or directs sabotage operations against Israeli citizens, will not be and will not remain immune.” Israeli troops carried out a series of attacks and provocations, and many in the international community have repeatedly raised concerns over the continued escalation. In April, Israeli troops repeatedly raided the Al-Aqsa mosque, carrying out violent attacks and arbitrary arrests against hundreds of Palestinians. The attacks took place amid the holy month of Ramadan, when people gather for special prayers. In April, Rudeineh stressed that such attacks will not discourage Palestinians from defending their land. https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/05/355357/israel-strikes-kill-13-palestinians-in-gaza-amid-new-escalation1 point

From Elizabeth II's corgis to the marginalization of Prince Enrique, these are the most outstanding anecdotes, data and curiosities of the coronation of Carlos III. Charles III was crowned King of the United Kingdom, in a solemn ceremony held on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, London. These are the most notable curiosities of the day. 1. Lady Di's jewelry Lady Di Kate Middleton's jewelry, during the salute from Buckingham Palace. Kate Middleton, wife of the crown prince, caught all eyes on her with her dazzling outfit, but above all because of the tribute to Diana Spencer, her famous mother-in-law. Middleton wore Diana's favorite jewelry, the diamond earrings with South Sea pearls that she displayed on several occasions. Middleton also wore the George VI scallop necklace that belonged to Elizabeth II, in another tribute that did not go unnoticed. 2. 52 arrests The London Metropolitan Police reported that they arrested 52 people during the coronation day of kings Carlos III and Camila, for causes related to public disturbances. The most famous of those arrested is the head of the anti-monarchy organization Republic, Graham Smith. He was arrested for protesting against the monarchy. 3. Party despite the rain Thousands of people took to the streets of central London to celebrate the coronation, despite the heavy rain that fell on the British capital. Not only English, but also numerous American, Austrian, French, Brazilian and even Japanese visitors covered themselves with the British flag and carried images with the king's face. 4. Enrique, separated from the balcony Prince Enrique, during the coronation day of Carlos III. King Carlos III greeted the crowd from the balcony of Buckingham Palace together with Queen Camila and her families, but without her youngest son Enrique, separated from the official functions of royalty. It was already known that Enrique's wife, Meghan Markle, would not participate in the ceremony to stay in California with her children Archie and Lilibeth. Enrique did go to Westminster Abbey for the solemn coronation, although he left the temple directly for the airport, just after the religious service. 5. Nor was Andrés Another illustrious absent from the balcony greeting was Prince Andrés, younger brother of Carlos III. Andrés is excluded from royal duties due to his sexual scandals related to businessman Jeffrey Epstein. The tradition of waving from the balcony dates back to 1851, when the legendary Queen Victoria appeared there amid celebrations for the opening of the World's Fair that year. Since then, that greeting has served to mark special occasions in the history of the monarchy. 6. Elizabeth II corgis Detail of Camila's dress, with the embroidered corgis. Her coronation ceremony has been full of symbols, some obvious, others more hidden, such as the fact that Queen Camila wore the image of Queen Elizabeth II's two beloved corgis embroidered on her skirt. Muick and Sandy live at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, the estate that Prince Andrew shares with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who adopted them after the death of Elizabeth II. 7. The heir's oath For the first time in history, only one member of the monarchy and nobility has sworn allegiance to the king. It is about the prince and heir Guillermo, who at the end has approached an emotional Carlos III to give him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, William," his father told him. 8. William's children The little children of Prince William and Kate Middleton also caught the eye. The three wore the colors of the Union Jack: Jorge in red and Honor Guard attire; Carlota, in white, and little Luis was in blue with a Hainsworth Garter Blue Doeskin jacket. Prince George, eldest son of the princes of Wales, was one of those in charge of wearing his grandfather's tunic, both at the entrance and at the exit. 9. A biblical epistle The British Prime Minister, the conservative Rishi Sunak, read a fragment of the Epistle to the Colossians during the coronation. Sunak, although he professes the Hindu religion, participated in the religious service officiated by the Archbishop of Cantebury, Justin Welby, primate of the Anglican Church. 10. There is no longer a queen consort With her coronation, Camila stops using the title of "Queen Consort" to be, simply but magnificently, Queen. According to British tradition, the wives of monarchs are crowned queens, something that is not the case with the husbands of queens, as was the case with the Duke of Edinburgh, Philip, father of Charles III and husband of Elizabeth II. https://www.primicias.ec/noticias/el-chat/curiosidades-jornada-coronacion-carlos/1 point

For this, a General Electric model TM 2500 turbine was installed. This increase will reduce the import of energy from the National Interconnected System. Petroecuador EP informed that from next September the Shushufindi asset, province of Sucumbíos, will contribute 12 MW (megawatts) more power to the 53 MW currently demanded in that field. For this, a General Electric model TM 2500 turbine was installed in the Shushufindi field and at the moment, technicians from the state oil company define the last details related to the operation of this turbine, with the aim of starting the test program at the end of May and thus operate in optimal conditions with residual gas. The general manager of Petroecuador, Ramón Correa, explained that the entry of the 12 MW will allow reducing the import of energy from the National Interconnected System to the Petroleum Electric System, which is beneficial for the country, especially in times of drought. The state company recalled that from December 2022 to date the company has already reduced the import of energy from the National Interconnected System, receiving a power in the range of 43 MW to 46 MW, which was previously in the order of 50 MW, which represents 14% of the total power required for exploration and production. According to figures from the state oil company, during this period and in 27 days the energy transfer was less than 43 MW. https://www.eluniverso.com/noticias/economia/el-campo-shushufindi-aportara-desde-septiembre-proximo-con-12-megavatios-mas-de-potencia-al-sistema-electrico-petrolero-nota/1 point

Although we know that modern dogs and wolves shared a common ancestor around 15,000 years ago, no one is sure how they first became domesticated…or even when. What we do know is that, at some point, dogs went from ignoring humans to wanting to be their best friends. Despite sharing about 99% of their DNA and belonging to the same species, dogs and wolves have a considerable number of differences. This is because, according to scientific estimates, these two animals separated in their evolution, at least, more than 15 thousand years ago. In this way, despite being breeds of the same species (wolf: canis lupus / dog: canis lupus familiaris), there are multiple areas in which our pets resemble and differ from their non-domesticated version. “The evolutionary origin of the dog dates back approximately 100,000 years, from its common ancestor with the wolf. However, the morphological changes that substantially differentiated it from its wild ancestors occurred between 10,000 and 15,000 years ago, probably due to the shift in human societies from hunter-gatherers to a more sedentary agricultural-cultural lifestyle that imposed new pressures. selective to dogs”, indicates the study Communication between domestic dogs (Canis familiaris) and men, published in the Latin American Journal of Psychology. In addition to this, humans have selectively bred dogs with certain characteristics (hunting skills and obedience) that have determined the particularities observed in modern dogs, and that differentiates them from the rest of their species. Research by Duke University scientists suggests that the domestication of dogs also altered social maturation through a selection process to attract humans. "Dogs became more flexible in using inherited abilities to communicate cooperatively with a new social partner that they previously feared and expressed these unusual social skills early in development," reads the study published in the journal Current Biology. Although they have significant physical similarities, dogs have a smaller skull and brain than the average wolf. In addition to this, wolves have larger teeth and jaws due to the survival needs experienced by this wild species. The latter is also reflected in the size of both. Thus, wolves are generally heavier, averaging between 22 and 34 kilograms, while dogs average around 13 kilograms. With the variety of dog breeds that exist, they can have more rounded or drooping ears, but wolves always have them upright and triangular. Likewise, wolves are almost the same size for everyone, while dogs, due to genetic mutations, can be small, medium, or large. Dogs have a life expectancy between 12 and 18 years, while wolves can live 7 years in the wild and 15 in captivity. It should be noted that despite the great variability in dog breeds, they are still closer in genetic and physical terms than when compared to a wolf. Due to their domestication process, dogs are comparably calmer and more obedient than their evolutionary cousins. In that sense, canine pets tend to remain in a state of youthful development even into adulthood, due to their dependence on their owner. This phenomenon is called "neoteny", which implies that the juvenile stage of a species is longer than that of its ancestors or close species. The latter is related to the shortening of the muzzle in dogs. By contrast, wolves tend to mature quickly, and unlike dogs, which are pack animals, they can live solitary and independently. Thus, some studies indicate that although they can be trained like dogs, wolves cannot be tamed. In a study published in 2017, scientists identified a gene that allows dogs to be distinguished from wolves. Thus, a gene was found in the former that has similarities with people diagnosed with Williams-Beuren syndrome. "This finding suggests that there are commonalities in the genetic architecture of the PEP and the canine mapo[CENSORED]tion and that directional selection may have targeted a unique set of linked behavioral genes of great phenotypic effect, allowing for rapid behavioral divergence of dogs and wolves." , facilitating coexistence with humans”, indicates the study. In this way, although pets have similarities with wolves, they have differences that allow us to coexist, in different spaces, with dogs. https://www.elespectador.com/la-red-zoocial/perros/cuales-son-las-diferencias-entre-perros-y-lobos-noticias-hoy/1 point

The Monza name within Ferrari has been long and fruitful. It began in the 1950s with purely competition models and has now been revived by the exclusive Monza SP1 and SP2. Although today we are going to talk about one of its most outstanding predecessors, the Ferrari 750 Monza Spyder that was available between 1954 and 1956. It helped mark a golden age in endurance competition with an interesting paradigm shift. To date, the Cavallino brand had specialized in V12 engines, with the Gioacchino Colombo block giving them much joy. However, to enter the World Endurance Championship predecessor, they went to work with the Aurelio Lampredi-designed inline-four engine. With this 3.0-liter block, a power of 250 CV was achieved, much more outstanding than the 170 CV of the 2.0-liter engine that the Ferrari 500 Mondial had, which had been its predecessor. On a technical level, it was one of the first Ferrari cars to use four-wheel disc brakes, something key to improve its performance in competition and to control those 250 km/h that it achieved at the top. It came complete with an independent double-arm front suspension and a rigid axle rear suspension for precise handling. With an exemplary set-up, it obtained an outstanding presence in competition during its few years of life. It was driven by drivers of the stature of Mike Hawthorn, Phil Hill and Juan Manuel Fangio; there is even that fateful anecdote that Alberto Ascari died in 1955 at the wheel of a Ferrari 750 Monza Spyder. In 1956 they stopped doing it and focused on their evolutions, with the 500TR and 860 Monza, leaving only 31 units manufactured of what could be the best valued Monza. Currently it is a collectors item, with some really special units. Few specimens can boast of never having dropped below seven figures in present times. In recent years we have seen several Ferrari 750 Monza Spyders change hands at public auctions and their price has always been above one million euros. Some sales stand out, such as that of the 530M unit in 2013 for no less than 4.07 million dollars or that of the 510M unit for 5.22 million dollars in 2016. In short, a jewel of motorsport that will always be remembered. https://noticias.coches.com/noticias-motor/ferrari-750-monza-spyder/4909401 point

Michael Andretti is back at the Miami Grand Prix with his network of financial backers, in his bid to win a Formula One team Michael Andretti is back at the Miami Grand Prix with his network of financial backers, in his bid to win a Formula One team. Andretti Global is one of four groups interested in submitting an "official expression of interest", through a series of documents, to the FIA, which in January created a formal process to explore the possible expansion of the grid, beyond the current 10 teams. . The initial deadline of April 30 was extended to May 15. This process began after Andretti, who in 2021 failed to buy the Sauber team, asked the FIA to expand the grid so that he could place an American team with two cars. Last year, at the first Grand Prix in Miami, Andretti visited each team, in an unsuccessful attempt to request that they sign a petition in support of his efforts. All but two of the teams have vehemently opposed the addition of Andretti or the grid expansion in general, as they do not want to dilute revenue. F1's current regulations contain provisions for up to 13 teams, and the FIA is not expected to rule on any new requests until late summer. The original deadline was June 30, but it was moved with the extension of the period to submit applications. The four known applicants are Andretti, in a joint venture with General Motors and Cadillac; an initiative by Craig Pollock, called Formula Equal, which would have funding from Saudi Arabia; a British-based team dubbed the Hitech Grand Prix; and LKY SUNZ, a Southeast Asian-backed outfit. Back in Miami, where Andretti was touring the paddock, team principals who have opposed his involvement acknowledged that they ultimately have no say in the process. "First of all, we have no say in this," said Mercedes boss Toto Wolff. "If we were asked our opinion, we would give it, but we are not part of the process of choosing or not choosing a team." Wolff has argued that any new entrants will need to have the funds to invest aggressively to help the sport grow. “We've been through some really tough times, where Formula One hasn't been the success it is today, and therefore I think anyone who comes into the sport should bring something new to the show,” he said. “It can help us grow our audience or have a lot of marketing dollars invested, something similar to what we have done in these years.” https://www.independentespanol.com/deportes/andretti-espera-noticias-sobre-expansion-de-f1-b2334204.html1 point

With disorders such as obesity and diabetes on the rise, the concept of cardiometabolism has gained relevance in the medical community as it addresses the need for routine check-ups and a healthy lifestyle. The details in the voice of a professional Obesity and diabetes occupy a central place on the agenda of the international medical community, to the point of being considered two great epidemics of the 21st century. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "over the past three decades, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has increased dramatically in countries of all income levels." Likewise, for the organization, "obesity has almost tripled worldwide from 1975 onwards." As these two metabolic disorders are directly associated with the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, experts warn about the need for routine check-ups and adopting a healthy lifestyle that includes diet and physical activity. From a better understanding of the relationship between metabolic disorders and the risk of developing cardiovascular pathologies, the concept of cardiometabolism arises. It is a discipline whose development has expanded greatly in the last 5 years. This link has been known for a long time, but advances in knowledge have allowed us to explore new tools for a more comprehensive approach to this problem. Currently, metabolic factors such as excess weight and diabetes are among the most important determinants for the development of cardiovascular diseases. In Argentina, considering the po[CENSORED]tion over 18 years of age, one in 10 people has diabetes and 6 out of 10 have some degree of excess weight. These are truly alarming figures and they are constantly increasing. To gauge the seriousness of the situation, it must be taken into account that between 40 and 50% of the risk of suffering cardiovascular disease is due to metabolic disorders, according to the results of different epidemiological studies. How do metabolic pathologies such as diabetes and obesity affect the heart? Mainly, through excess visceral fat (Note: the fat that is located in the abdomen area). Although fatty tissues play an important role in the body, since they are a reservoir of energy, those that are found at the intra-abdominal level, such as those that surround our internal organs, are directly related to various health disorders. This happens because excess visceral fat produces a series of substances that favor the development of diabetes (due to the resistance it generates to the action of our insulin), arterial hypertension and a greater risk of lipid disorders and high production of triglycerides. But they also directly damage our arteries and heart muscle. Various cardiovascular pathologies are associated with these disorders. One of them is vascular disease, such as coronary disease; Here we include the progressive obstruction of the arteries that feed our heart and that lead to the development of the well-known angina pectoris (chest pain) upon exertion. In turn, it is also associated with the acute obstruction of one of the arteries due to the sudden rupture of an atheromatous plaque, generating the typical pictures of myocardial infarction. Added to this is the development of heart failure and electrical disorders of the heart such as atrial fibrillation, a type of disorder that generates an irregular heart rhythm. Food education There are two parameters that can guide professionals to determine the presence of visceral fat in the body: body weight and waist circumference measurement. This last indicator is associated with intra-abdominal fat and, in this case, it is essential to warn about the risk of cardiometabolic disorders. However, one of the complications of these factors is that relevant symptoms are not observed until patients reach more advanced stages. Patients can have elevated glucose, blood pressure, or cholesterol values and not have any symptoms or warning signs. Hence the importance of carrying out clinical controls in order to detect the presence of these risk factors early. An adequate physical examination, blood pressure control and some laboratory parameters are sufficient to initially detect the presence of metabolic disorders. As scientific knowledge of cardiometabolism grew, the medical community became more aware of the importance of educating the po[CENSORED]tion about the direct relationship between inadequate eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle with the development of metabolic disorders that later lead to cardiovascular problems, among other complications. Currently there are more and better tools to achieve better metabolic control in patients with diabetes, as well as pharmacological or even surgical strategies that, integrated with nutritional education, can promote weight loss and minimize the associated risk. A current problem and a look to the future The increase in the prevalence of obesity and diabetes suggests that, in the coming years, the cardiovascular complications associated with these disorders will also grow. An important fact is that, according to estimates from the national Ministry of Health, 30% of school-age children are overweight. However, it is possible to intervene today in this complex scenario to improve the situation in the future. To reverse this, action should be taken at different levels. On the one hand, it is important to emphasize what we call 'primary prevention', which consists of promoting that the po[CENSORED]tion maintain a healthy weight. It is achieved by transmitting proper eating habits and the need to avoid a sedentary lifestyle. In this way it is possible to prevent the development of metabolic complications. Fortunately, in recent years, a series of pharmacological tools have also been developed that act by regulating both appetite and satiety signals at the brain level. This favors weight loss in a very significant way. This reduces the risk of complications caused by obesity. Something similar happens with patients with diabetes, since modern treatments, combined with a healthy eating plan and physical activity, allow for adequate metabolic control and cardiovascular protection. At the ICBA, to achieve better results, we treat these disorders from an approach in conjunction with different disciplines. We form a comprehensive view through a working group that includes educators, nutritionists, specialists in diabetes and cardiology, among other specialties, which allows us to define the best strategy to offer our patients by providing the most appropriate treatment and control tools for each case. https://www.infobae.com/salud/2023/05/03/cardiometabolismo-el-impacto-de-los-malos-habitos-en-el-corazon-y-como-prevenirlo/1 point

Last September, there were several explosions in the pipelines that transported gas from Russia to Europe through the Baltic Sea. Since then, the cause of the explosions, which knocked out the two Nord Stream gas pipelines, has not been clarified. But now a new documentary indicates that Russian ships, capable of conducting underwater operations, were detected at the site of the explosions. According to the documentary, the vessels were located using intercepted communications from the Russian navy. When the explosions happened, some in the West took aim at Russia. Moscow, for its part, blamed Western countries. More recently, intelligence reports emerged blaming pro-Ukrainian operatives, although they did not point to the Ukrainian government itself. Formal investigations are still underway in the countries near the site of the explosion. So far, these nations have only said that they believe the explosions were the result of sabotage and not some kind of accident. But the latest show in a TV documentary series "Putin's Shadow War" and its accompanying English-language podcast "Cold Front" offer a possible clue pointing to the involvement of Russia. The series on broadcasters DR from Denmark, NRK from Norway, SVT from Sweden and Yle from Finland revealed last month that Russian ships appeared to be mapping wind farms in the North Sea, including off the UK coast. "Ghost Ships" Now the latest episode of the series focuses on what they say are suspicious ship movements in the lead up to the pipeline explosions. The ships are believed to include the Russian naval research vessel Sibiryakov, the SB-123 tugboat and a third ship in the Russian naval fleet that the media has been unable to identify by name. These were the so-called "ghost ships", which had their transmitters turned off. However, the broadcasters say they were able to track their movements, using intercepted radio communications the ships sent to Russian naval bases between June and September 2022. The movements were tracked by a former British naval intelligence officer, who worked interdiction for the Russian Baltic fleet until he retired in 2018. This person, who remains anonymous in the documentary, says he used open source information and radio communications to conduct his research. These ships are said to have been in the vicinity of one of the blast sites for several hours, and in one case for nearly a full day. One of the ships, the Sibiryakov, is considered to be capable of underwater mapping and surveillance tasks, as well as launching a small underwater vehicle. The former British naval intelligence officer says the vessel took an unusual sailing route in June, around the site where the pipeline would later explode, and changed its communications pattern to a secret receiver. Another unnamed vessel was also present in that area the previous week in June. And a third ship, the SB-123 naval tug, is said to have arrived just five days before the September explosions. Radio communication suggests that she remained there throughout the afternoon and evening before sailing back to Russia. Satellite images Satellite images examined by the broadcasters are said to support the claims about the unusual routes, and other reports in Germany indicate that the ship was in the area on 21 and 22 September. This vessel can be used to support and rescue submarines and has the capacity to carry out operations on the seabed, according to experts interviewed by the stations. Last week it emerged that the Danish military had taken 26 photos of another Russian navy ship that specializes in underwater operations near the site of the explosions. A Danish newspaper said the SS-750 underwater rescue ship was photographed four days before the nearby explosions. That ship can carry a mini submarine. The documentary does not say that there is conclusive evidence of what the ships were doing or that Russia was behind the explosion. But it raises questions about the unusual nature of the activity. https://www.bbc.com/mundo/noticias-internacional-654708681 point
