There are not a few who are looking forward to the next Apple M3 chips , since the forecasts point to a qualitative leap both in the power they will offer and in the containment of energy consumption. For a time, it was speculated that these processors would be released this year in the new high-end models of the MacBook and iPad . However, it seems that ultimately it will not be like that.

 

New information indicates that Apple fans will be disappointed, since there are problems with the processors that will make them not part of any product from the Cupertino company until... the year 2024! Therefore, it will take much more patience than expected.

 

What is happening with the Apple M3

It would be due to "capacity issues with components made by TSMC, which could not supply enough processors." It remains to be seen if this is due to the manufacturer itself or to global mismanagement of supplies . And, the truth is that it is not the first time that data of this type has appeared, since not long ago it was indicated that what follows a similar report that affirmed that TSMC was "struggling to meet demand" for the chips... but it didn't seem like he was going to make it.

It is important to know that TSMC is the company that currently manufactures most of Apple's own chips, so any problem you have can directly affect the products of the firm of the bitten apple. And, apparently, not having all the eggs in the same basket can become a problem for the company led by Tim Cook.

Little differential high end in 2023

If the leak is accurate, this is an especially bitter pill to swallow... because the M3 is expected to be a significant step in Apple's hardware evolution, especially when compared to the M2 chip found inside devices like the current MacBook Air . The new processor is expected to be manufactured using a 3-nanometer process , which could bring notable improvements in speed and efficiency compared to the M2 (which uses 5nm).

Therefore, it is not exactly good news if it is confirmed, and as they say, when the river sounds, water carries. Users may have to wait a bit longer to experience the technological leap that the M3 promises , and this may affect Apple's strategy for its high-end product line in 2023.
