It is the main prayer hall in which Muslim worshipers gather behind the imam for the Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque.[4] Al-Qibli Mosque was the first to build a mosque or a small chapel, but it was built again after that and expanded during the reign of the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan and his son al-Walid ibn Abd al-Malik, whose construction was completed in 705 CE. After about forty-one years, i.e. in the year 746 AD, Al-Qibli Mosque was destroyed as a result of an earthquake; It was rebuilt at that time during the reign of the Abbasid Caliph Abu Jaafar al-Mansur in 754 AD. After that, it was rebuilt in the year 780 AD. In 1033 AD, another earthquake destroyed most of the Qibli Mosque; For the Fatimid Caliph Al-Zahir to reconstruct the prayer hall, which at this time still maintained the design of the foundations for the construction of Al-Zahir to enhance the religion of God.
