The experienced Anzoatiguense third baseman Niuman Romero joins the contingent of more than a dozen Venezuelan players who will perform in the 2022 season of the Mexican Baseball League.

Leader in Sports reported that the Águila de Veracruz club announced that Romero, 37 years old, will occupy the sixth and last place of reinforcements for the upcoming contest.

Romero reinforced the Navegantes del Magallanes in the Caribbean Series that was held last week in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. There he hit .300 and was chosen by the press as the third baseman for the "All Stars" team.

Veracruz will be the second experience in Mexico for Romero. In the 2019 edition he wore the Union Laguna Algodoneros jersey and in 86 games he left an average of .323 with 5 home runs and 50 RBIs.
