Nick Cassidy will drive a Ferrari again after passing through the DTM as a 'complement' to Alex Albon, although it will be in the WEC.
The New Zealander will make his debut in the competition in the LMGTE-Am class at the controls of the #54 AF Corse Ferrari.
Nick Cassidy has achieved his greatest sporting successes in Japan. Super GT champion in 2017 and Super Formula in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic has perhaps been the necessary turning point for the New Zealander when it comes to settling down definitively in Europe. In 2021 he joined the Virgin project in Formula E, in addition to complementing Alex Albon in the Red Bull project in the DTM. It is true that he only took part in the last round of the German competition, but the Kiwi driver left very good feelings at the controls of the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo.

So much so that Cassidy will continue to compete with a Ferrari GT in 2022, although in this case it will be in its GTE version. In fact, Cassidy will debut in the World Endurance Championship at the controls of the AF Corse Ferrari #54, a unit that competes in the LMGTE-Am category. In this way, the New Zealander will have his first program in the WEC together with Thomas Flohr and Francesco Castellacci, thus taking the place of Giancarlo Fisichella as a professional within the structure. The Italian has been the team's reference driver in the last three seasons.
