Venezuelan Eduardo Escobar reaches an agreement with the New York Mets for two years and 20 million dollars.

According to Meridiano's review, the metropolitans reinforce their infield with the acquisition of the 33-year-old Venezuelan. Escobar, comes from a year in which he posted 253 batting average, in a season he played with the Arizona Diamonbacks and the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Creole, is able to play in various infield positions, and has a lifetime average of 256 in his 11-year career in the Major Leagues in which he played in teams such as: Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins, Diamondbacks of Arizona and the Milwaukee Brewers.
