A technology giant is preparing, for the first time, a gaming console. Who wants to compete with PlayStation and Xbox

 

Gaming is an attractive niche for many players, and one of the largest technology companies seems to soon focus on making products for this segment. It would be a gaming laptop, but also a console.

Rumors in the market indicate that Huawei wants to enter the gaming segment. The first product? A gaming laptop. Which isn't very strange, given that Huawei already has a line of successful laptops.

The more interesting product seems to be, however, a future gaming console. Thus, Huawei would enter the battle with the three big players: Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. What will the console look like? We have no details about the platform on which it will be based, but rumors indicate that it will be a high-performance product, not one based on an ARM processor like the Nintendo Switch.

So, we could see an APU similar to those found on Playstation and Xbox. At the same time, Huawei could try to produce its own console chips.

It will also be interesting to see what kind of software the console will run. In case you didn't know, this wouldn't be the first Chinese console. Huawei launched a console, which few remember, in 2014. It was called Tron and had a Tegra 4 processor and ran Android 4.2.
