[MC]Ronin[MC]
They discovered cave paintings of 15,000 years in Spain Spanish archaeologists have uncovered 15,000-year-old rock paintings at the Cova de la Font Major in Catalonia, the Daily Mail reported. Animals include deer, horses, rams, but also abstract symbols and shapes. More than 100 engravings have been made in the soft sandstone. The discovery was made by archaeologists from Rovira and Virgil University and the Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution. They came across them on October 30 last year after resuming their flood-interrupted studies. The announcement of the discovery was delayed until the cave was secured. The walls of the cave are soft and the lightest touch can destroy the drawings. Therefore, it will hardly ever be open for visits. Instead, local authorities prepare a plan for its three-dimensional scan so that the drawings are archived. It will also allow experts to investigate them non-invasively. According to archaeologists, the cave was used as a sanctuary by ancient people. There are several prehistoric caves in Spain. The most famous of these is Altamira. The drawings in it are 36,000 years old.
